Radon, a stable and radioactive gas, is produced by the radioactive decay of radium. Over time, radon causes damage to lung tissue leading to health problems such as cancer over time. This study is the first study in Turkey to investigate the relationship between radon gas and real estate and its effect on the value of real estate. The relationship between radon gas and real estate in different countries and its applicability in Turkey were investigated. The basic aim of the study is to be able to make a comparison of radon in Turkey with examples in the world. In addition, the study emphasizes that radon also poses serious health risks and the importance of taking measures to reduce radon levels. This study addresses the issues of radon gas measurement in Turkey, its relationship with real estate and its applicability, and emphasizes the importance of considering radon levels for those operating in the real estate sector and for investors. The result of the study shows that the increase in radon gas levels is inversely proportional to the value of real estate. It has been found that some countries in the world, compared to Turkey, have made much more serious plans compared to Turkey in terms of researching the harmful effects of radon gas on human health, measuring radon gas, making plans for necessary precautions and measures, educating thepublic and increasing their awareness, taking actions in accordance with these plans and statistically explaining the results of these actions . Within the framework of this study, a research has been presented that explains what needs to be done in Turkey, the precautions to be taken and the seriousness of the situation has been presented. Another aim of the study is to bring the perspective on radon to different dimensions. The suggestions and conclusions made can be the subject of other studies and can guide studies in this direction. Thiswill ensure that the specific problem of radon gas is identified and that is a situation which can be easily resolved for Türkiye depending on the provision of sufficient data to decision makers through these studies.
