Energy saving in commercial buildings is important these days because of their high energy consumption rates. Even though there is a building management system for energy savings, it fails to work properly. Using biomimicry in design to achieve this factor will yield a better result. In this project, energy analysis such as Skylight and Daylight for butterfly-shaped shopping mall is performed. The butterfly was chosen as a biomimic due to its structural design, which is roughly square in comparison to other species. And its open atrium helps to pass the sunlight directly into the shopping mall. To stand out, the shopping mall's outer walls are fully covered with building facades, thus creating a unique shopping experience. The atrium of the butterfly is covered with glass, which allows sunlight to enter freely, reducing the lighting cost during the daytime. To arrive at the results, a comparative study of the energy expenses across India's various climatic areas was conducted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
