Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is one of the main air pollutants, formed due to both natural and anthropogenic processes, which has a significant negative impact on human health. The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted countries to take various measures, including social distancing or stay-at-home orders. This study analyzes the impact of COVID-19 lockdown measures on nitrogen dioxide (NO2) changes in Central Asian countries. Data from TROPOspheric Monitoring Instrument (TROPOMI) on the Sentinel-5 Precursor satellite, as well as meteorological data, make it possible to assess changes in NO2 concentration in countries and major cities in the region. In particular, the obtained satellite data show a decreased tropospheric column of NO2. Its decrease during the lockdown (March 19-April 14) ranged from - 5.1% (Tajikistan) to - 11.6% (Turkmenistan). Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that limitations in anthropogenic activities have led to improvements in air quality. The possible influence of meteorology is not assessed in this study, and the implied uncertainties cannot be quantified. In this way, the level of air pollution is expected to decrease as long as partial or complete lockdown continues.

Phosphatidyl ethanolamine-binding protein (PEBP) has a conserved PEBP domain and plays an important role in regulating the flowering time and growth of angiosperms. To understand the evolution of PEBP family genes in walnut family and the mechanism of regulating flowering in photoperiod pathway, 53 genes with PEBP domain were identified from 5 Juglandaceae plants. The PEBP gene family of Juglandaceae can be divided into four subgroups, FT-like, TFL-like, MFT-like and PEBP-like subgroups. These genes all show very high homology for motifs and gene structure in Juglandaceae. In addition, the results of gene replication and collinearity analysis showed that the evolution of PEBP genes was mainly purified and selected, and segmental repetition was the main driving force for the evolution of PEBP gene family in walnut family. We found that PEBP gene family played an important role in female flower bud differentiation, and most JrPEBP genes were highly expressed in leaf bud and female flower bud by qRT-PCR. In Arabidopsis, AtCO can not only directly bind to CORE2, but also interact with NF-Y complex to positively regulate the expression of AtFT gene. In this study, we proved that JrCO (the lineal homologue of AtCO) could not directly regulate the expression of JrFT gene, but could enhance the binding of JrNF-YB4/6 protein to the promoter of JrFT gene by forming a heteropolymer with NF-YB4/NF-YB6. We also confirmed that JrNF-YC1/3/7, JrNF-YB4/6 and JrCO can form a trimer structure similar to AtNF-YB-YC-CO of Arabidopsis, and then bind to the promoter of JrFT gene to promote the transcription of JrFT gene. In a word, through identification and analysis of PEBP gene family in Juglandaceae and study on the mechanism of photoperiod pathway regulating flowering in walnut, we have found that nuclear transcription factor NF-YB/YC plays a more important role in the trimer structure of NF-YB-YC-CO in walnut species. Our study has further perfected the flowering regulatory network of walnut species.

In the event of a flood, the choice of evacuation routes is vital for personnel security. This is particularly true when road factors play an important role in evacuation time. In this study, the traditional Dijkstra algorithm for route planning is improved, and the evacuation model is improved from 2D to 3D. At the same time, the Lasso regression method is adopted to take the road factors into account in the pedestrian speed, and the location of shelter is selected and optimized through the calculation results, and then based on the improved 3D Dijkstra’s algorithm, an optimal evacuation route method in different flood disasters risk levels is proposed, which can make pedestrians reach the shelters within the shortest time. After taking into account road factors (road width, slope, non-motorized lane width, and pedestrian density), through the calculation of the pedestrian speed formula, the estimated evacuation time of pedestrians is obtained. By combining available shelters with evacuation routes, the optimized algorithm improves the evacuation efficiency facing different risk levels of flood disasters. The results show that when residents are confronted with flood disasters of once-in-20-year, once-in-50-year, and once-in-100-year, the proposed optimization algorithm can save 7.59%, 11.78%, and 17.78% of the evacuation time. Finally, according to the verification of the actual effect in Meishan Town, the proposed method of optimal evacuation route planning can effectively reduce the evacuation time of pedestrians, evaluate, and optimize the location of existing shelter, and provide suggestions for urban road reconstruction.

Quizalofop-p-ethyl is a widely used herbicide that poses a threat to human health and environmental safety. In this study, anti-quizalofop-p-ethyl monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) were prepared and used to develop a gold nanoparticle-based lateral flow immunoassay (AuNP-LFIA) for the detection of quizalofop-p-ethyl in agriproducts and environmental samples. Four hybridoma cell lines were obtained, among which 5B6D10E11 secreted mAb with the highest sensitivity, with a 50 % inhibition concentration of 4.57 ng/mL in the indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. After optimization, the AuNP-LFIA strip based on the mAb (5B6D10E11) showed a visual detection limit of 10 ng/mL, and the results could be directly determined by the naked eye within 8 min. The cross-reactivity of the AuNP-LFIA for analogs of quizalofop-p-ethyl was negligible except for quizalofop-p-acid. The established AuNP-LFIA was proven to be accurate and precise based on the recovery test. Furthermore, the detection results of AuNP-LFIA were consistent with those of ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry.

This study reviews spatial and temporal variability of aerosol optical depth (AOD) at 550 nm, obtained with Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) (Terra) Collection 6.1 aerosol products with use of combined Dark Target and Deep Blue algorithm. Data was analyzed for 18-year period from 2000 to 2017 over the territory of the whole continental China, covering the largest cities as well as various ecological and geographical regions. Spatial distribution of AOD has distinct geographical differences with gradual decrease from the east to the west of the country. The lowest values (up to 0.25) of annual mean AOD at 550 nm occur in sparsely populated areas on the Tibetan Plateau and in the north forest ecosystems in the north-eastern part of China. Areas of desert and semidesert landscapes of Northwest China are characterized by high concentrations of naturally occurring aerosols with moderate values of AOD (0.4–0.7). The most populous regions (Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, North China Plain, and Sichuan Basin) with the highest density of agricultural and industrial activity are characterized with maximum values of AOD (over 0.7). Seasonal variation of aerosols in the most regions of China has maximum AODs in spring or summer and minimum in autumn or winter. Angstrom exponent (AE), being 0.31–1.7 for the most part of China, was used to detect the size of aerosol particles, with the lowest values (0.31–0.84) in desert north and north-west regions of the country, and the higher values in the south (1.3–1.7). Comparison of results, obtained with MODIS Terra and AERONET (Aerosol Robotic Network) at 550 nm, demonstrate a high interrelation (r = 0.8949), where 68.3% fall within the range of expected errors, set by MODIS over the land (± 0.05 ± 0.15 × AOD). The conducted Pearson’s correlation analysis between various cities of the country showed that cities in one region with shortest distances from one another demonstrated higher correlations, suggesting distinct regional dependence in aerosols distribution.

Background The three amino acid loop extension (TALE) are essential transcription factors that regulate the differentiation of meristem in the plant growth and development. there's a lot of journalism of the TALE family in plants, such as Arabidopsis, rice, and others. however, there's no report on the TALE family in walnut. Results In this study, the genome-wide identification and expression analysis of the TALE gene family were studied comprehensively in walnut. Based on the specific structure of the TALE domain, a total of twenty-seven walnut TALE genes (JrTALE) were identified. According to different domains structure and phylogenetic relationships, the JrTALE gene family could be divided into two subfamilies, namely BELL and KNOX. This family was relatively conservative in evolution. Exon-intron structure analysis showed that there were 3 to 6 exons, and they had a wide range of exons length. Analysis of protein conserved motifs showed that JrTALE contained similar motif structures in the same phylogenetic branch. Expression pattern analysis of the TALE family genes in walnut showed that JrTALE41 and JrTALE42 were differentially expressed in female and male flower buds. We confirmed that JrTALE4-5, JrTALE8-12, JrTALE36-37, JrTALE46-53, and JrTALE14-15 were differentially expressed between different stages of flower bud development by real-time quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR). Conclusions Sixty-nine JrTALEs were identified in the genome-wide. the physicochemical properties, phylogenetic relationships, gene structure, promoter cis-acting elements, and protein interactions were systematically analyzed by bioinformatics methods. This study provides valuable information about the TALE family in the transitional development of walnut flower buds, which lay the foundation for further understanding of TALE family genes and in walnut.

Atherosclerosis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease that contributes to the development of coronary artery disease, which has become a leading health burden worldwide. Though several strategies such as pharmacological treatment, exercise intervention, and surgery have been used in clinical practice, there is still no effective strategy to cure AS. Exosomes are extensively studied both as diagnostic markers as well as for therapeutic purposes due to their role in pathological processes related to AS. To elucidate the role of exosomes in AS and thus provide a new insight into AS therapy, we review recent advances concerning exosome targets and their function in mediating intercellular communication in AS, and expect to provide a reference for novel effective strategies to cure AS. Exosomes exert important roles in the diagnosis, development, and potential therapy of AS. For AS development, (1) activation of CD-137 in endothelial cells represses exosomal-TET2 production, causing a phenotypic switch of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) and promoting plaque formation; (2) exosomal-MALTA1 derived from endothelial cells causes neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) and M2 macrophage polarization, which aggravates AS; and (3) exosomal-miR-21-3p derived from macrophages inhibits PTEN expression and further promotes VSMC migration/proliferation, leading to AS development. For AS diagnosis, plasma exosomal-miR30e and miR-92a are considered to be potential diagnostic markers. For AS therapy, adipose mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes protect endothelial cells from AS aggravation, via inhibiting miR-342-5p. Exosome-mediated cross-talk between different cells within the vasculature exerts crucial roles in regulating endothelial function, proliferation and differentiation of vascular smooth muscle cells, and platelet activation as well as macrophage activation, collectively leading to the development and progression of AS. Exosomes can potentially be used as diagnostic biomarkers and constitute as a new therapeutic strategy for AS.

A growing number of evidence on aberrantly regulated ncRNAs in cardiovascular diseases has indicated that ncRNAs are critical contributors to cardiovascular pathophysiology. Moreover, multiple recent studies have reported that ncRNAs can be detected in the bloodstream that differs between health subjects and diseased patients and some of them are remarkably stable. Although our knowledge about the origin and function of the circulating ncRNAs is still limited, these molecules have been regarded as promising noninvasive biomarker for risk stratification, diagnosis and prognosis of various cardiovascular diseases. In this chapter, we have described biological characteristics of circulating ncRNAs and discussed current trends and future prospects for the usage of circulating ncRNAs as biomarkers for common cardiovascular diseases.

Three-dimensional (3D) molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) arrays were used for electrochemical sensor to detect sulfadimidine (SM2) residue in food. NiCo2O4 nanoneedle arrays were decorated on the free-standing and highly conductive 3D graphene by a hydrothermal process. Polypyrrole (PPy) was coated onto NiCo2O4 nanoneedle arrays via electropolymerization in the presence of template molecule SM2 to obtain MIP/NiCo2O4 nanoneedle/3D graphene electrode. The desirable detectability of the composite electrode can be ascribed to the unique structure and the synergistic effects of the components: Nanoneedle arrays on 3D graphene offered the matrix to MIP and each nanoneedle as sensing unit was accessible to analyte, resulting in high specific surface area, desirable conductivity, short ion diffusion path and excellent adsorption capacity, which could powerfully boost the electrochemical property for the detection of SM2. Under optimized conditions, a wide linear range over SM2 of 0.2–1000 ng/mL with a detection limit of 0.169 ng/mL (S/N = 3) was obtained. The developed sensor also had favorable recovery of 92.3–102.23% and the relative standard deviation of 2.27–4.10%. The MIP array sensor provided an efficient tool for the selective and rapid detection of SM2 in food.

Emerging evidence showed that cardiac proliferation played a significant role in the cardiac rehabilitation and repair. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are known to regulate multiple cell functions, whereas the role of EVs in cardiac proliferation still remains unclear. In this study, we found that serum EVs promoted cell proliferation in rat heart myoblastic H9C2 cells with significantly increased expression level of miR-17-3p. Inhibition of miR-17-3p could decrease H9C2 cells proliferation induced by serum EVs. Additionally, we found that TIMP3 was a target of miR-17-3p in H9C2 cells proliferation and the expression of TIMP3 was downregulated by serum EVs. Meanwhile, inhibition of TIMP3 increased cardiac proliferation. In conclusion, results of our study indicated that serum EVs could promote the proliferation of H9C2 cells via regulating miR-17-3p/TIMP3, which may be a potential therapeutic target for treatment of cardiac injury.

The techniques for data analyses have been widely developed in past years, however, missing data still represent a ubiquitous problem in many scientific fields. In particular, dealing with missing spatiotemporal data presents an enormous challenge. Nonetheless, in recent years, a considerable amount of research has focused on spatiotemporal problems, making spatiotemporal missing data imputation methods increasingly indispensable. In this paper, a novel spatiotemporal hybrid method is proposed to verify and imputed spatiotemporal missing values. This new method, termed SOM-FLSSVM, flexibly combines three advanced techniques: self-organizing feature map (SOM) clustering, the fruit fly optimization algorithm (FOA) and the least squares support vector machine (LSSVM). We employ a cross-validation (CV) procedure and FOA swarm intelligence optimization strategy that can search available parameters and determine the optimal imputation model. The spatiotemporal underground water data for Minqin County, China, were selected to test the reliability and imputation ability of SOM-FLSSVM. We carried out a validation experiment and compared three well-studied models with SOM-FLSSVM using a different missing data ratio from 0.1 to 0.8 in the same data set. The results demonstrate that the new hybrid method performs well in terms of both robustness and accuracy for spatiotemporal missing data.

Cell transplantation studies have shown that injection of progenitor cells can improve cardiac function after myocardial infarction (MI). Transplantation of human cardiac progenitor cells (hCPCs) results in an increased ejection fraction, but survival and integration are low. Therefore, paracrine factors including extracellular vesicles (EVs) are likely to contribute to the beneficial effects. We investigated the contribution of EVs by transplanting hCPCs with reduced EV secretion. Interestingly, these hCPCs were unable to reduce infarct size post-MI. Moreover, injection of hCPC-EVs did significantly reduce infarct size. Analysis of EV uptake showed cardiomyocytes and endothelial cells primarily positive and a higher Ki67 expression in these cell types. Yes-associated protein (YAP), a proliferation marker associated with Ki67, was also increased in the entire infarcted area. In summary, our data suggest that EV secretion is the driving force behind the short-term beneficial effect of hCPC transplantation on cardiac recovery after MI. In this paper, the morphology, attractive force (Fat), adhesive force (Fad) and Young's modulus (EY) of diesel in-cylinder soot particles sampled by a total cylinder sampling system were studied using atom force microscopy. In each combustion phase, the equivalent diameter (ED), Fat, Fad, adhesion energy and EY present broad distributions. The pattern of ED distribution in the late combustion phase is similar to that in the late diffusion combustion phase, especially in the range of ED < 10 nm, suggesting that the particle size distribution changes little after the late diffusion combustion phase. Most isolated soot particles in each combustion phase possess a very low sphericity ratio. Three types of force curves are discovered for in-cylinder particles, and are introduced to identify the particle types. For the test carbonized soot particles, the SR appears to increase with an increase in ED in each combustion phase, and the AED shows a similar trend to that for all test particles during the combustion process. Due to the presence of plastic deformation for the nascent soot particles and the penetration for the liquid materials during the force measurement, the carbonized primary soot particles are employed for force analysis. As the combustion proceeds, the population-averaged values of Fat and Fad show opposite trends; the attractive force, which is mainly driven by the Van der Waals force, gradually decreases. During the combustion process, the population-averaged adhesion energy decreases to a minimum in the late premixed combustion phase after which it then increases. The initial increase in the population-averaged Young's modulus (AEY) is followed by a decrease before gradually increasing again from the early diffusion combustion phase. The AEY shows a negative correlation with the fringe separation distance in the soot structure.

The most direct characteristic of muscle atrophy is reduction in muscle mass, which is due to increased protein degradation or reduced protein synthesis in skeletal muscle. The loss of muscle mass can directly affect the quality of daily life, prolong the recovery period, and become the main risk factor for chronic diseases. However, there is currently no effective way to prevent and treat this disease, and therefore it is imperative to explore effective therapeutic approaches for muscle atrophy. It is well known that physical exercise is important for maintaining good health and long-term adherence to exercise can reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, obesity, and diabetes. It is also well established that exercise training can promote the synthesis of muscle protein and activate signaling pathways that regulate the metabolism and function of muscle fibers. Therefore, exercise can be used as a method to treat muscle atrophy in many of these conditions. Mitochondria play an important role in skeletal muscle homeostasis and bioenergy metabolism. Mitochondria are sensitive to contractile signals, and hence exercise can improve mitochondrial function and promote biosynthesis, which ultimately maintains the healthy state of cells and the whole body. On the other hand, frequent unaccustomed exercise will change the structure and function of skeletal muscle fibers, which is called exercise-induced muscle damage. When the exercise-induced muscle damage happens, it can cause temporary muscle damage and soreness, giving a negative effect on the muscle function.

Cardiovascular diseases are among the most serious diseases, which are a leading cause of death across the world. Early diagnosis and prognosis prediction are keys for treatment and reduction of death rates. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) play a critical role in the physiology and pathology of biological system and participate in the development of diseases. In addition, circRNAs are relative stable and abundant. Therefore, many studies have suggested that circRNAs could be used as biomarkers for diseases, such as neurological diseases, cancers, immune diseases, and digestive diseases. Here we summarize recent studies on circRNAs and compare the characteristics of circRNAs with traditional biomarkers. Finally, we highlight the value of circRNAs as potential biomarkers for cardiovascular diseases, including acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, coronary artery disease, and hypertension. In conclusion, circRNAs may be promising biomarkers for cardiovascular diseases.

Metabolic diseases include diabetes mellitus (DM), obesity, metabolic syndrome, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Circular RNA is a new type of RNA that is different from traditional linear RNA and has a closed loop structure. However, the function of circular RNA is not yet well elucidated in metabolic diseases. Only a few studies have reported about the relationship between circular RNA and metabolic diseases such as DM and NAFLD. This chapter presents a brief review of epidemiology, pathophysiology, or treatment of DM and NAFLD and then discusses the relationship between circular RNA and DM or NAFLD. Besides, this chapter further provides an updated discussion of the most relevant discoveries regarding circular RNA and their potential applications in molecular diagnostics, nucleic acid therapy, and biomarkers.

As the most populous country worldwide, China has ≈ 290 million patients with cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), representing the leading cause of death in Chinese population. The morbidity and mortality of CVDs are continuously rising. Here, we will first summarize the recent advance in the management of CVDs such as coronary arterial disease, arrhythmia, and heart failure in China. In particular, we will introduce the development of chest pain centers and indicate the novel techniques and methods applied for the management of CVDs. Then, we will discuss and point out the importance of improving the clinical and basic research for Traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of CVDs. Finally, we will emphasize the efforts made to promote cardiac rehabilitation and cardiovascular prevention system in China. We are striving to establish a practical prevention-treatment-rehabilitation system and looking forward to a bright future with reduced morbidity and mortality from CVDs in China.

Aerosol optical depth (AOD) is one of essential atmosphere parameters for climate change assessment as well as for total ecological situation study. This study presents long-term data (2000–2017) on time-space distribution and trends in AOD over various ecological regions of China, received from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) (combined Dark Target and Deep Blue) and Multi-angle Imaging Spectroradiometer (MISR), based on satellite Terra. Ground-based stations Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET) were used to validate the data obtained. AOD data, obtained from two spectroradiometers, demonstrate the significant positive correlation relationships (r = 0.747), indicating that 55% of all data illustrate relationship among the parameters under study. Comparison of results, obtained with MODIS/MISR Terra and AERONET, demonstrate high relation (r = 0.869 - 0.905), while over 60% of the entire sampling fall within the range of the expected tolerance, established by MODIS and MISR over earth (±0.05 ± 0.15 × AODAERONET and 0.05 ± 0.2 × AODAERONET) with root-mean-square error (RMSE) of 0.097–0.302 and 0.067–0.149, as well as low mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.068–0.18 and 0.067–0.149, respectively. The MODIS search results were overestimated for AERONET stations with an average overestimation ranging from 14 to 17%, while there was an underestimate of the search results using MISR from 8 to 22%.

Background: Traditional gluteus maximus myocutaneous flaps have generally been used to fill tissue defects after resection of sacrococcygeal pressure ulcers. However, postoperative complications were gradually revealed as increasing operations were performed. This study aimed to introduce the innovative application of gluteus maximus fasciocutaneous V-Y advancement flaps for repairing tissue defects and to comparatively analyze the differences between the innovative and traditional flaps. Methods: A total of 32 cases were included in this study. All the PU lesions were removed by resection. Sixteen cases used the gluteus maximus myocutaneous flaps, and the remaining 16 cases used gluteus maximus fasciocutaneous V-Y advancement flaps to fill the tissue defects after surgery. Comparative analysis between the gluteus maximus myocutaneous flaps and gluteus maximus fasciocutaneous V-Y advancement flaps was used to evaluate the 2 flaps based on the mean operating time, postoperative infection, paresthesia, appearance of flaps, and recurrence. Results: The gluteus maximus fasciocutaneous V-Y advancement flaps required a reduced operating time and a more simple operation compared with the gluteus maximus myocutaneous flaps. Although the infectious risk of the gluteus maximus fasciocutaneous V-Y advancement flaps was reduced compared with the gluteus maximus myocutaneous flaps, the gluteus maximus myocutaneous flaps have a better appearance compared with the gluteus maximus fasciocutaneous V-Y advancement flaps. Most importantly, no flap necrosis was noted, and the recurrence rate during follow-up was reduced in cases using the gluteus maximus fasciocutaneous V-Y advancement flaps. Conclusion: The combined application of gluteus maximus fasciocutaneous V-Y advancement flaps with surgical resection can reduce the postoperative complications and aid in the treatment of sacrococcygeal pressure ulcers.

When the exercise-induced muscle damage happens, it can cause temporary muscle damage and soreness, giving a negative effect on the muscle function.

Cardiovascular diseases are among the most serious diseases, which are a leading cause of death across the world. Early diagnosis and prognosis prediction are keys for treatment and reduction of death rates. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) play a critical role in the physiology and pathology of biological system and participate in the development of diseases. In addition, circRNAs are relative stable and abundant. Therefore, many studies have suggested that circRNAs could be used as biomarkers for diseases, such as neurological diseases, cancers, immune diseases, and digestive diseases. Here we summarize recent studies on circRNAs and compare the characteristics of circRNAs with traditional biomarkers. Finally, we highlight the value of circRNAs as potential biomarkers for cardiovascular diseases, including acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, coronary artery disease, and hypertension. In conclusion, circRNAs may be promising biomarkers for cardiovascular diseases.

Metabolic diseases include diabetes mellitus (DM), obesity, metabolic syndrome, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Circular RNA is a new type of RNA that is different from traditional linear RNA and has a closed loop structure. However, the function of circular RNA is not yet well elucidated in metabolic diseases. Only a few studies have reported about the relationship between circular RNA and metabolic diseases such as DM and NAFLD. This chapter presents a brief review of epidemiology, pathophysiology, or treatment of DM and NAFLD and then discusses the relationship between circular RNA and DM or NAFLD. Besides, this chapter further provides an updated discussion of the most relevant discoveries regarding circular RNA and their potential applications in molecular diagnostics, nucleic acid therapy, and biomarkers.

Wind energy has increasingly played a vital role in mitigating conventional resource shortages. Nevertheless, the stochastic nature of wind poses a great challenge when attempting to find an accurate forecasting model for wind power. Therefore, precise wind power forecasts are of primary importance to solve operational, planning and economic problems in the growing wind power scenario. Previous research has focused efforts on the deterministic forecast of wind power values, but less attention has been paid to providing information about wind energy. Based on an optimal Adaptive-Network-Based Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA), this paper develops a hybrid uncertainty forecasting model, IFASF (Interval Forecast-ANFIS-SSA-Firefly Alogorithm), to obtain the upper and lower bounds of daily average wind power, which is beneficial for the practical operation of both the grid company and independent power producers. To strengthen the practical ability of this developed model, this paper presents a comparison between IFASF and other benchmarks, which provides a general reference for this aspect for statistical or artificially intelligent interval forecast methods. The comparison results show that the developed model outperforms eight benchmarks and has a satisfactory forecasting effectiveness in three different wind farms with two time horizons.

A series of complex oxide La1−x Ce x CoO3 catalysts was synthesized at a low temperature through a combustion process, in which x is among 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 corresponding to the quantity of La3+ partial substitution by Ce4+. The catalysts were characterized for phase composition using chemical analysis and X-ray diffraction. The catalytic activity of the catalysts in removal of NO x , total hydrocarbon (THC) and particulate matter (PM) from diesel exhaust gases were examined in detail using temperature-programmed reaction technique. The results show that after partial substitution of La3+ with Ce4+, the oxygen vacancy concentration increases significantly and a Co3+-Co2+ system is formed. Consequently, the catalytic activity in the removal of THC and NO x is significantly improved. But for the PM, the effect is not so obvious. The possible catalytic mechanism for this was presented. It is also worth noting that the doped catalysts showed good stability.

The aim of this paper was to research influential factors of crop water productivity in irrigable land of arid area oasis. In middle reach of Heihe River in Linze County of Zhangye City, maize, a major crop in irrigable land in the oasis, was studied and nine influential factors were chosen through grey relation analysis. According to the analysis results, top five factors influencing water productivity of maize during 1995–2009 were as follows: applied quantity of chemical fertilizers>labors input>seeds>mulch amount>pesticide amount, which indicated that controllable factors, instead of uncontrollable ones, dominate in influence of water productivity of maize in the oasis irrigated area. With limited water resource, investment of controllable factors in high-efficient agricultural production should be the major strategy to improve water productivity of maize in irrigable land of arid area oasis.
