In order to improve the quality of freshwater fish surimi products, the effect of adding 4% of native cassava starch or modified cassava starch (starch phosphate, hydroxypropyl starch, acetylated distarch phosphate, or a 3:2 (m/m) mixture of acetylated distarch phosphate and hydroxypropyl starch) on improving the quality of surimi gels prepared from frozen tilapia surimi was investigated by measuring texture, rheological properties, water-holding capacity, moisture distribution and microstructure. The results showed that compared with the control group, the whiteness of tilapia surimi gels with native and modified cassava starch significantly decreased (P < 0.05), the gel strength, hardness, chewiness and water-holding capacity significantly increased (P < 0.05), the percentage of cooking loss decreased (P < 0.05), the bound water content increased (P < 0.05), and the microstructure was more uniform and compact. The best gel texture and highest water-holding capacity were achieved with the addition of the modified starch mixture. Low-field magnetic resonance imaging and optical microscopy results showed that both native and modified cassava starch could effectively keep the water in the surimi gel. The native and modified starch could absorb water and expand during the heating process, concentrating and filling the surimi gel network structure, and the surimi gel structure with the modified starch mixture was most compact and uniform. Therefore, addition of acetylated distarch phosphate-hydroxypropyl starch mixture can effectively improve the quality of tilapia surimi products, which will provide theoretical support for the development of freshwater fish surimi products.

Background and purpose: At present, gastric cancer is still an important cause of cancer death, and its postoperative recurrence is the main factor leading to the low survival rate of gastric cancer. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between early and late postoperative recurrence and metastasis and clinicopathological features in patients with gastric cancer in order to improve the prognosis of gastric cancer. Methods: The clinicopathological data of 188 patients with recurrent and metastatic gastric cancer after radical operation in Zhejiang Cancer Hospital from January 2014 to January 2016 were analyzed retrospectively. The clinicopathological characteristics of patients with early recurrence and metastasis (≤2 years) and late recurrence and metastasis (>2 years) were compared. Results: Among the 188 patients, 126 patients had early recurrence and 62 patients had late recurrence. The overall median time of recurrence was 18 months after operation. Recurrence site, lymph node metastasis, serosa infiltration, no preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy, no postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy and poor differentiation are independent risk factors for early postoperative recurrence of gastric cancer. Conclusion: The location of recurrence, preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy, postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy, lymph node metastasis, depth of invasion and degree of tissue differentiation are related to postoperative recurrence.

Electrochemical oxidation of ammonia is an attractive process for wastewater treatment, hydrogen production, and ammonia fuel cells. However, the sluggish kinetics of the anode reaction has limited its applications, leading to a high demand for novel electrocatalysts. Herein, the electrode with the in situ growth of NiCu(OH)2 was partially transformed into the NiCuOOH phase by a pre-treatment using highly oxidative solutions. As revealed by SEM, XPS, and electrochemical analysis, such a strategy maintained the 3D structure, while inducing more active sites before the in situ generation of oxyhydroxide sites during the electrochemical reaction. The optimized NiCuOOH-1 sample exhibited the current density of 6.06 mA cm−2 at 0.5 V, which is 1.67 times higher than that of NiCu(OH)2 (3.63 mA cm−2). Moreover, the sample with a higher crystalline degree of the NiCuOOH phase exhibited lower performance, demonstrating the importance of a moderate treatment condition. In addition, the NiCuOOH-1 sample presented low selectivity (<20%) towards NO2− and stable activity during the long-term operation. The selective semihydrogenation of C2H2 to C2H4 in crude C2H4 (with ~1 vol % C2H2 contamination) is a crucial process in the manufacture of polyethylene. Comparing to conventional thermalcatalytic route with Pd as catalyst under high temperature with H2 as hydrogen source, photocatalytic C2H2 reduction reaction with H2O as hydrogen source can achieve high selectivity under milder conditions, but has rarely been reported. Here, we present a kind of ultrathin metal–organic framework nanosheets (Cu‐Co‐MNSs) that demonstrate excellent catalytic activities in the semihydrogenation of C2H2. Employing Ru(bpy)32+ as the photosensitizer, this catalyst attains a noteworthy turnover number (TON) of 2124 for C2H4, coupled with an impressive selectivity of 99.5 % after 12 h visible light irradiation. This performance is comparable to molecular catalysts and notably surpasses the efficiency of bulk metal–organic framework materials. Furthermore, Cu‐Co‐MNSs achieve a 99.95 % conversion of C2H2 under industrial relevant conditions (1.10 % C2H2 in C2H4) with 90.3 % selectivity for C2H4 over C2H6, demonstrating a great potential for polymer‐grade C2H4 production. Iron tailings have been extensively studied as mineral admixtures and as coarse and fine aggregates. However, few studies have been conducted on the mechanical properties of iron tailings concrete structures. Using iron tailings powder as an mineral admixture, and iron tailings gravel and sand as coarse and fine aggregates, respectively, the flexural behavior of full iron tailings concrete (FITC) beams was investigated experimentally. Compared with conventional concrete (CC) beam, we showed that the crack‐resistant, yield, and ultimate moments of FITC beams are similar to those of the concrete strain of FITC beams, which is in good agreement with the plane section assumption before cracks appear. The low elastic modulus of FITC makes the deflection of three FITC beams larger than that of a CC beam. The current design code of China is appropriate for calculating the load‐carrying capacity of FITC beam; however, the deflection calculation formula should be modified. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) significantly improves the navigation efficiency of ports. This paper proposes a model called Joint Extraction of Triples from the VHF Speech (JER‐VHF) to ensure the efficiency of the VTS. Numerous texts are extracted from the Very High Frequency (VHF) speech communication contents and these texts are organized into a dataset named VHFDT. The proposed model's transforming task transforms the voice communication contents of this dataset into a triple representation. VHFDT has a large number of overlapping triples. Therefore, this paper proposes a combined model with three categories to model the entity relations in VHF sentences, including pre‐training Chinese language model for initializing embedding from VHFDT, BiLSTM for rich features, and Multi‐head Attention for focusing on triples. In experimental part, this study uses Precision(P), Recall(R), and F1 to evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed method and baseline models. According to experimental results, the proposed model efficiently extracts the key information from complex language environment and achieves better work on relational triple extraction than other baseline models. The model achieved an F1‐score of 83.2% on the overlapping testing data, which is an improvement of 1.8% compared to the second‐best baseline model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
