Abstract

Treatment of 4-phenyl-5H-1,2,3-dithiazole-5-thione with iodine in acetonitrile yielded crystalline product with thione-iodonium three-center halogen bond and triiodide anion bound with two iodine molecules by the typical halogen bonds. At the level of a theoretical study of electron density and its gradients, the similarity of electronic properties of the central iodine atom in bridged moiety [S−I−S]+ and in triiodide anion [I−I−I]− has been illustrated. The experimental and theoretical Raman spectra of iodonium salt are discussed: the assignment of the bands corresponding to the iodonium bridged fragment vibrations has been made on the basis of calculated ab initio data. Abstract

On the example of the iodine crystal structure we have selected the optimal basis sets, allowing reproduction of interatomic distances and Raman spectral characteristics by 3D periodic Kohn-Sham calculations. Advantages of two approaches, taking into account the relativistic effect, have been compared: Effective Core Pseudopotentials and the Gaussian type basis set, constructed on the basis of the Douglas-Kroll-Hess approach. It has been shown that the latter approach not only correctly reproduce the experimentally observed geometric parameters of the iodine interactions and characteristics of Raman spectra, but also it reveals the electron density accumulation and depletion in the area of outermost valence shell of an iodine atom. That is directly illustrated by the Laplacian of electron density function. На примере кристаллической структуры йода произведен подбор оптимальных базисных наборов, позволяющих в условиях периодических расчетов воспроизводить межъядерные расстояния, распределение электронной плотности и спектральные свойства йодсодержащих молекулярных кристаллов. Сопоставлены преимущества двух подходов к учету эффектов релятивизма: эффективные остовные псевдопотенциалы и базисный набор гауссового типа, конструируемый на основе методологии Дугласа-Кролла-Гесса. Показано, что последний позволяет корректно воспроизвести не только экспериментально наблюдаемые геометрические параметры кристалла йода и характеристические колебания в спектрах комбинационного рассеяния, но и накопление электронной плотности в области внешней валентной оболочки атома йода, что наглядно иллюстрирует функция лапласиана электронной плотности. 16. Influence of structure of buthylmethacrylate and methacrylic acid copolymer on its thermal behaviour

Abstract

Изучено термическое поведение сополимеров БМА и МАК сходного состава и различной структуры – статистического и блочного строения. С помощью методов ТГ и ДСК показано, что блок-сополимер менее устойчив к действию высоких температур, чем статистический. Рассчитаны активационные параметры для стадий термического разложения ПБМА и ПМАК и их сополимеров. Показан гомолитический механизм термической деструкции для ПБМА и смешанный – для ПМАК и сополимеров. Для сополимера блочного строения показано инициирование деструкции в местах соединения блоков по сшивающему агенту. Thermal behaviour of BMA and MAA copolymers with the similar composition of different structure – random and block – have been studied. By TG and DSC experiments it has been shown that the thermal stability of the block copolymer is less than that of the random one. The activation parameters for every stage of thermal destruction of PBMA, PMAA and their copolymers have been calculated. It has been shown that the thermal degradation of PBMA is the result of homolysis, while for PMAA and copolymers we suppose the mixed mechanism of that process. It has been shown that destruction of the block copolymer begins on the sites of the block combination with the crosslinking agent. Abstract

Для молекулярных комплексов, содержащих тиокарбонильную группу, участвующую в галогенной связи S…I–I, выполнен теоретический квантово- топологический анализ электронной плотности с позиций теории QTAIM и проведен расчет Раман-активных волновых чисел. Обнаружено, что колебание, отвечающее галогенной связи S…I, носит составной характер. Установлена количественная взаимосвязь между волновыми числами, соответствующими валентным колебаниям связей I–I в комплексах, и электронной плотностью и плотностью кинетической энергии электронов в критических точках связей I–I. For molecular complexes containing the thiocarbonyl group, which participates in the halogen bond S...I-I, the theoretical quantum-topological analysis of electron density (QTAIM) has been performed. RAMAN active wave numbers have been calculated. It has been found that the oscillation of the halogen S...I bond is of composite character. Quantitative relationships between the wave numbers corresponding to the valence vibrations of the I-I bonds in the complexes and the electron density, as well as the density of the electron kinetic energy, at the I-I bond critical points have been determined. Abstract

Выполнен анализ изменений индексов порядков ковалентных связей, происходящих в замещенных хинолиновых системах при их участии в образовании комплексов с переносом заряда c молекулярным йодом. Вычислены индексы порядков галогенных связей D…I, (D = N, O, S, C), формируемых электронодонорными центрами аллилзамещенных тио(окси)хинолинов. Квантово-химические расчеты выполнены в рамках теории функционала плотности, оценка электронных характеристик произведена на основе теории QTAIM. An analysis of bond orders indexes changes in substituted quinoline systems during formation of charge transfer complexes with iodine was performed. Bond orders for Halogen bonding D…I, (D = N, O, S, C) between electron- donor centers in allyl-substituted thio(oxy)quinolines and iodine were calculated. Quantum-chemical calculations with Density Functional Theory were carried out; electron density characteristics were estimated with QTAIM theory. Abstract

Выполнен термический анализ продуктов галогенциклизации производных 2-аллитиохинолина с йодом, полученных в результате варьирования исходных соотношений реагентов. Установлены продукты термолиза, образующиеся в результате разрыва связей в дигидротиазоловом цикле. Выявлено влияние полииодид-аниона на этот процесс. A thermal analysis of the products of 2-allylthioquinoline halogencyclization with different reagent ratios was made. The products of thermolysis formed in result of bond gap in dihydrothiazole cycle were identified. The influence of polyiodide-anion on this process was detected. Abstract

Two kinds of iodine-iodine halogen bonds are the focus of our attention in the crystal structure of the title salt, C12H8ClINO+·I3−, described by X-ray diffraction. The first kind is a halogen bond, reinforced by charges, between the I atom of the heterocyclic cation and the triiodide anion. The second kind is the rare case of a halogen bond between the terminal atoms of neighbouring triiodide anions. The influence of relatively weakly bound iodine inside an asymmetric triiodide anion on the thermal and Raman spectroscopic properties has been demonstrated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

22. High-pressure transformation of dithiazolylidene-dithiazolium polyiodide with N-H…N hydrogen bond: A Raman Spectroscopy study.

Abstract

The insight into the behavior of polyiodides under non-ambient conditions can enrich the practical applications due to obtaining materials with adjustable and tunable conducting properties. In this work Raman spectroscopy study in the range 0 - 6.5 GPa has been performed for dithiazolylidene-dithiazolium zigzag polyiodide with N-H…N hydrogen bond. Variations of band positions in the low-wavenumber region of Raman spectra have been attributed to the changes in the anionic part of the unit cell. The association of different interacting polyiodide subunits at pressure above 1.5 GPa leads to the emergence of the bands at 98 and 115 cm -1 due to consistent vibrations in the I 8 2- zigzag. The emergence of the band at 159 cm -1 above 0.28 GPa can be assigned to N-H…N hydrogen bond vibration. The obtained results depict undergoing structure transformations: the stronger are cation…cation and anion…anion interactions the more likely is the observation of conducting properties due to the formation of polyiodide zigzag and strongly-bound hydrogen-bonded fragment., Competing Interests: Declaration of Competing Interest The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper., (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier B.V.
