There exist some perovskites materials with no photoluminescence (PL), which will greatly limit the practical applications in photodetection, display and lighting. Here, we achieve an exotic pressure-induced emission (PIE) at a mild pressure of 0.8 GPa from initially non-emissive 2D all-inorganic perovskite Cs3Sb2Br9 quantum dots, when the sample was subjected to external pressure. With the increase of pressure, the PL intensity gradually increases and the emission color transforms from red to green. Combined with subsequent experiments and computations, thus PIE behavior and piezochromism result from the SbBr6 octahedral distortion, accompanied by a structural phase transition from trigonal to monoclinic under pressure. Our work provides a robust strategy to boost the emission efficiency and to construct multi-functional PIE materials with piezochromism in environmentally friendly perovskites, thus facilitating the diverse applications in futural practices.

ObjectiveTo analyze the epidemiological characteristics and pathogens of foodborne diseases among children aged 0 – 3 years in Guangzhou city, Guangdong province, to provide data for the prevention and control of diseases in the population. MethodsMedical records and detection results of four common foodborne pathogens (Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, and enteropathogenic Escherichia coli) were obtained from 1 270 foodborne illness cases aged 0 – 3 years reported by 289 sentinel hospitals in Guangzhou city from 2020 to 2022, and descriptive statistics were performed on the collected data. ResultsThe majority of cases occurred during the summer and fall seasons each year. The proportion of cases with the following clinical symptoms was 85.0% for diarrhea with 3 to 8 episodes and an average of 6.0 per day (74.8% with watery stools), 50.0% for fever with an average temperature of 39.0 ℃, 33.5% for vomiting with 2 to 5 episodes and an average of 3.0 per day, 12.8% for abdominal pain, and 6.1% for nausea. The reported suspect foods implicated in the incidence of illness were mainly cereals and their products. Pathogens associated with the illnesses of the cases were detected in 40.8% of the cases, predominantly Salmonella (99.6%), with a small percentage of enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (0.4%). The detection rate of Salmonella in cases less than one year of age was 58.4%, significantly higher than in cases 1 – 3 years of age (32.3%) (P < 0.001). The dominant serotype of Salmonella detected in the cases was Salmonella Typhimurium variant 1,4,[5],12:i:- (68.2%), followed by Salmonella Enteritidis (9.7%), Salmonella Stanley (3.3%), and Salmonella Rissen (2.7%). Four serotypes of Salmonella with different virulence were detected. For example, infections with Salmonella Typhimurium variant 1,4,[5],12:i:- had a higher probability of fever than those with Salmonella Rissen (P = 0.004), and the probability of fever in cases infected with Salmonella Enteritidis was higher than that in cases infected with Salmonella Rissen (P = 0.002). ConclusionBased on the epidemiological and pathogenic characteristics of foodborne diseases in children aged 0 – 3 years Guangzhou city, it is recommended to strengthen the prevention and control of foodborne diseases in this special population by ensuring food safety, conducting targeted consultations, strengthening target pathogen surveillance, and expanding publicity and education.

Abstract Background Soybean is a major oil crop; the nutritional components of soybean oil are mainly controlled by unsaturated fatty acids (FA). Unsaturated FAs mainly include oleic acid (OA, 18:1), linoleic acid (LLA, 18:2), and linolenic acid (LNA, 18:3). The genetic architecture of unsaturated FAs in soybean seeds has not been fully elucidated, although many independent studies have been conducted. A 3 V multi-locus random single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP)-effect mixed linear model (3VmrMLM) was established to identify quantitative trait loci (QTLs) and QTL-by-environment interactions (QEIs) for complex traits. Results In this study, 194 soybean accessions with 36,981 SNPs were calculated using the 3VmrMLM model. As a result, 94 quantitative trait nucleotides (QTNs) and 19 QEIs were detected using single-environment (QTN) and multi-environment (QEI) methods. Three significant QEIs, namely rs4633292, rs39216169, and rs14264702, overlapped with a significant single-environment QTN. Conclusions For QTNs and QEIs, further haplotype analysis of candidate genes revealed that the Glyma.03G040400 and Glyma.17G236700 genes were beneficial haplotypes that may be associated with unsaturated FAs. This result provides ideas for the identification of soybean lipid-related genes and provides insights for breeding high oil soybean varieties in the future.

Abstract Background Atrial fibrillation (AF) is highly prevalent in the population, yet the factors contributing to AF events in susceptible individuals remain partially understood. The potential relationship between meteorological factors and AF, particularly with abnormal electrocardiograph (ECG) repolarization, has not been adequately studied. This case-crossover study aims to investigate the association between meteorological factors and daily hospital visits for AF with abnormal ECG repolarization in Shanghai, China. Methods The study cohort comprised 10,325 patients with ECG-confirmed AF who sought treatment at Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital between 2015 and 2018. Meteorological and air pollutant concentration data were matched with the patient records. Using a case-crossover design, we analyzed the association between meteorological factors and the daily count of hospital visitors for AF with abnormal ECG repolarization at our AF center. Lag analysis models were applied to examine the temporal relationship between meteorological factors and AF events. Results The analysis revealed statistically significant associations between AF occurrence and specific meteorological factors. Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) is an important crop for both food and feed, playing a significant role in agricultural production and the human diet. During long-term storage, soybean seeds often exhibit reduced quality, decreased germination, and lower seedling vigor, ultimately leading to significant yield reductions in soybean crops. Seed storage tolerance is a complex quantitative trait controlled by multiple genes and is also influenced by environmental factors during seed formation, harvest, and storage. This study aimed to evaluate soybean germplasms for their storage tolerance, identify quantitative trait nucleotides (QTNs) associated with seed storage tolerance traits, and screen for candidate genes. The storage tolerance of 168 soybean germplasms was evaluated, and 23,156 high-quality single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers were screened and analyzed through a genome-wide association study (GWAS). Ultimately, 14 QTNs were identified as being associated with seed storage tolerance and were distributed across the eight chromosomes of soybean, with five QTNs (rs25887810, rs27941858, rs33981296, rs44713950, and rs18610980) being newly reported loci in this study. In the linkage disequilibrium regions of these SNPs, 256 genes were identified. By combining GWAS and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), eight hub genes (Glyma.03G058300, Glyma.04G1921100, Glyma.04G192600, Glyma.04G192900, Glyma.07G002000, Glyma.08G329400, Glyma.16G074600, Glyma.16G091400) were jointly identified. Through the analysis of expression patterns, two candidate genes (Glyma.03G058300, Glyma.16G074600) potentially involved in seed storage tolerance were ultimately identified. Additionally, haplotype analysis revealed that natural variations in Glyma.03G058300 could affect seed storage tolerance. The findings of this research provide a theoretical foundation for understanding the regulatory mechanism underlying soybean storage.

The utilization of saline land is a global challenge, and cultivating salt-tolerant soybean varieties is beneficial for improving the efficiency of saline land utilization. Exploring the genetic basis of salt-tolerant soybean varieties and developing salt-tolerant molecular markers can effectively promote the process of soybean salt-tolerant breeding. In the study, the membership function method was used to evaluate seven traits related to salt tolerance and comprehensive salt tolerance at the soybean seedling stage; genome-wide association analysis (GWAS) was performed in a natural population containing 200 soybean materials; and linkage analysis was performed in 112 recombinant inbred lines (RIL) population to detect quantitative trait loci (QTLs) of salt tolerance. In the GWAS, 147 SNPs were mapped, explaining 5.28–17.16% of phenotypic variation. In the linkage analysis, 10 QTLs were identified, which could explain 6.9–16.16% of phenotypic variation. And it was found that there were two co-located regions between the natural population and the RIL population, containing seven candidate genes of salt tolerance in soybean. In addition, one colocalization interval was found to contain qZJS-15-1, rs47665107, and rs4793412, all of which could explain more than 10% of phenotypic variation rates, making it suitable for molecular marker development. The physical positions of rs47665107 and rs47934112 were included in qZJS-15-1. Therefore, a KASP marker was designed and developed using Chr. 15:47907445, which was closely linked to the qZJS-15-1. This marker could accurately and clearly cluster the materials of salt-tolerant genotypes in the heterozygous population tested. The QTLs and KASP markers found in the study provide a theoretical and technical basis for accelerating the salt-tolerant breeding of soybean.

Conventional stud connectors were proved to be inconvenient for the later disassembly and replacement in ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) bridge decks. In this study, the headless studs which is a type of studs with their heads removed were employed as a substitute for conventional stud connectors, aiming to enhance the detachability of the bridge decks on the premise of ensuring the anti-lift bearing capacity of the decks. Three push-out specimens containing the headless studs with a diameter of 13 mm were carried out to study the mechanical properties of headless studs. In addition, the finite element model was developed to reveal the failure mechanism of headless studs in UHPC. Results indicated that the load-slip curve of headless stud connector can be divided into elastic stage, plastic stage and failure stage. The failure mode of headless studs was the shear fracture at the root of stud shank. Headless stud connections under cyclic loading can produce greater plastic deformation. The ultimate shear capacity and shear stiffness of headless studs were lower than those of conventional studs. Additionally, the UHPC slabs configured with headless studs have a small quantity of separation at the steel-UHPC interface, so it is suggested to use headless studs and conventional studs together in UHPC slabs to ensure the necessary anti-lift bearing capacity. Finite element analysis indicated that in the elastic stage, the bearing capacity of the push-specimen was dominated by the material properties of the headless stud. After entering the plastic stage, the bearing capacity of the push-specimen was mainly controlled by the UHPC below the headless stud.

Soybean saponin is a natural antioxidant and is anti-inflammatory. Hyperspectral analysis technology was applied to detect soybean saponin content rapidly and nondestructively in this paper. Firstly, spectral preprocessing methods were studied, and standard normal variable (SNV) was used to remove noise information. Secondly, a two-step hybrid variable selection approach based on synergy interval partial least squares (SiPLS) and iteratively retains informative variables (IRIV) was proposed to extract characteristic variables. Then, the ensemble learning model was constructed by back propagation neural network (BPNN), deep forest (DF), partial least squares regression (PLSR), and extreme gradient boosting (EXG). Finally, image information was combined into spectral data to improve model accuracy. The prediction coefficient of determination (R2) of the final model reached 0.9216. It can provide rapid, nondestructive, and accurate detection technology of soybean saponin content. A combination of spectral and image information will provide a new idea for application of hyperspectral.

Abstract Background The relationship between air pollution and atrial fibrillation (AF) recorded by electrocardiograph (ECG) has not yet been illustrated which worsens AF precaution and treatment. This research evaluated the association between air pollution and daily hospital visits for AF with ECG records. Methods The study enrolled 4933 male and 5392 female patients whose ECG reports indicated AF from 2015 to 2018 in our hospital. Such data were then matched with meteorological data, including air pollutant concentrations, collected by local weather stations. A case-crossover study was performed to assess the relationship between air pollutants and daily hospital visits for AF recorded by ECG and to investigate its lag effect. Abstract Background Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr) is an important source of human food, animal feed, and bio-energy. Although the genetic network of lipid metabolism is clear in Arabidopsis, the understanding of lipid metabolism in soybean is limited. Results In this study, 30 soybean varieties were subjected to transcriptome and metabolome analysis. In total, 98 lipid-related metabolites were identified, including glycerophospholipid, alpha-linolenic acid, linoleic acid, glycolysis, pyruvate, and the sphingolipid pathway. Of these, glycerophospholipid pathway metabolites accounted for the majority of total lipids. Combining the transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses, we found that 33 lipid-related metabolites and 83 lipid-related genes, 14 lipid-related metabolites and 17 lipid-related genes, and 12 lipid-related metabolites and 25 lipid-related genes were significantly correlated in FHO (five high-oil varieties) vs. FLO (five low-oil varieties), THO (10 high-oil varieties) vs. TLO (10 low-oil varieties), and HO (15 high-oil varieties) vs. LO (15 low-oil varieties), respectively. Conclusions The GmGAPDH and GmGPAT genes were significantly correlated with lipid metabolism genes, and the result revealed the regulatory relationship between glycolysis and oil synthesis. These results improve our understanding of the regulatory mechanism of soybean seed oil improvement.

Soybean vegetable oil is an important source of the human diet. However, the analysis of the genetic mechanism leading to changes in soybean oil content is still incomplete. In this study, a total of 227 soybean materials were applied and analyzed by a genome-wide association study (GWAS). There are 44 quantitative trait nucleotides (QTNs) that were identified as associated with oil content. A total of six, four, and 34 significant QTN loci were identified in Xiangyang, Hulan, and Acheng, respectively. Of those, 26 QTNs overlapped with or were near the known oil content quantitative trait locus (QTL), and 18 new QTNs related to oil content were identified. A total of 594 genes were located near the peak single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) from three tested environments. These candidate genes exhibited significant enrichment in tropane, piperidine, and pyridine alkaloid biosynthesiss (ko00960), ABC transporters (ko02010), photosynthesis-antenna proteins (ko00196), and betalain biosynthesis (ko00965). Combined with the GWAS and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), four candidate genes (Glyma.18G300100, Glyma.11G221100, Glyma.13G343300, and Glyma.02G166100) that may regulate oil content were identified. In addition, Glyma.18G300100 was divided into two main haplotypes in the studied accessions. The oil content of haplotype 1 is significantly lower than that of haplotype 2. Our research findings provide a theoretical basis for improving the regulatory mechanism of soybean oil content.

In 2013, during Typhoon Soulik, wind data were collected at various heights above the ground (15, 27, 53, 67, and 82 m) on the 550 kV 52# pole transmission tower in Ningde City, Fujian Province. The wind speed profile, turbulence intensity, gust factor, crest factor, and power spectrum were analyzed using 10 min interval wind speed records. The results show the following: (1) the average wind velocity of Typhoon Soulik varies in accordance with both the power law and the logarithmic law, but the Deaves–Harris model exhibits significant discrepancies; (2) the turbulence intensity in u, v, and w orientations decreases with the average wind velocity at each height. Exponential fitting is conducted on the strength of turbulence and gust factor profiles in each direction based on the standards of different countries, resulting in the derivation of empirical expressions; (3) the integral scale components of turbulence in u, v, and w orientations exhibit a positive correlation with both average wind velocity and height. The turbulence integral scale ratios in the longitudinal, transverse, and vertical directions at heights of 15, 53, and 82 m are 1:0.68:0.11, 1:0.67:0.27, and 1:0.67:0.30, respectively; (4) the Von Karman empirical spectrum and the modified Kaimal cross-spectrum model closely match the observed wind power spectrum of Typhoon Soulik. The presented results contribute to furthering references for wind-resistant design of structures in typhoon-prone areas and prevention of typhoon-related disasters.

Protein content (PC) is crucial to the nutritional quality of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill]. In this study, a total of 266 accessions were used to perform a genome-wide association study (GWAS) in three tested environments. A total of 23,131 high-quality SNP markers (MAF ≥ 0.02, missing data ≤ 10%) were identified. A total of 40 association signals were significantly associated with PC. Among them, five novel quantitative trait nucleotides (QTNs) were discovered, and another 32 QTNs were found to be overlapping with the genomic regions of known quantitative trait loci (QTL) related to soybean PC. Combined with GWAS, metabolome and transcriptome sequencing, 59 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) that might control the change in protein content were identified. Meantime, four commonly upregulated differentially abundant metabolites (DAMs) and 29 commonly downregulated DAMs were found. Remarkably, the soybean gene Glyma.08G136900, which is homologous with Arabidopsis hydroxyproline-rich glycoproteins (HRGPs), may play an important role in improving the PC. Additionally, Glyma.08G136900 was divided into two main haplotype in the tested accessions. The PC of haplotype 1 was significantly lower than that of haplotype 2. The results of this study provided insights into the genetic mechanisms regulating protein content in soybean.

Concrete structures usually have to experience some unfavorable environmental actions during their service life, leading to the mechanical properties degradation, moreover, cyclic loadings such as traffic loads, wind loads may further accelerate structural damage, therefore, improving durability of concrete is of vital for structures servicing in severe environment. Graphene oxide (GO), as a new nano-reinforced material, has ultra-high mechanical properties and large specific surface area as a concrete reinforcing material. This study entailed an examination of the properties of Graphene Oxide Concrete (GOC) with varying levels of GO incorporation (0, 0.02, 0.05, 0.08 wt%). It also encompassed an analysis of the fatigue properties of GOC under different stress levels and varying sulfate wetting and drying cycles. Additionally, the investigation delved into the degradation mechanisms affecting Graphene Oxide Concrete (GOC) when subjected to sulfate erosion conditions. Furthermore, the study assessed the mass loss of specimens and their fatigue life under diverse environmental conditions. The results showed that appropriate GO incorporations could enhance concrete’s mechanical and fatigue properties after sulfate attack. In addition, scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis showed that GO could adjust the aggregation state of cement hydration products and its own reaction with some cement hydration crystals to form strong covalent bonds, to improve and enhance microstructural denseness.

BackgroundDepression and anxiety are common comorbidities in cardiovascular clinic outpatients. Timely identification and intervention of these mental and psychological disorders can contribute to correct diagnosis, better prognosis, less medical expenses, and improved quality of life. The convenience of online doctor-patient communication platforms has increasingly attracted patients to online consultations. However, online health care and offline health care are very different. Research on how to identify psychological disorders in patients who engage in an online cardiology consultation is lacking. ObjectiveThis study aimed to explore the feasibility of using a self-rating scale to assess mental illness among patients who consult with a cardiologist online and to compare the differences in anxiety and depression between online and offline patients. MethodsFrom June 2022 to July 2022, we conducted follow-up visits with 10,173 patients on the Haodf platform. We conducted detailed consultations with 286 patients who visited the same cardiologist in the outpatient department. We used the self-rated Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) scales to assess anxiety and depression, respectively. We analyzed the influencing factors related to the degree of coordination of online patients. We also compared the prevalence of anxiety or depression between online and offline patients and analyzed the factors related to anxiety or depression. ResultsOf the 10,173 online consultation patients, only 186 (1.8%) responded effectively. The response rate of the offline consultation patients was 96.5% (276/286). IntroductionGlyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is an essential key enzyme in the glycolytic pathway and plays an important role in stress responses. Although GAPDH family genes have been found in different plant species, the determination of their gene family analysis and their functional roles in soybean are still unknown. MethodsIn this study, gene sequence and expression data were obtained using online tools, and systematic evolution, expression profile analysis, and qRT-PCR analysis were conducted.Results and DiscussionHere a total of 16 GmGAPDH genes were identified on nine chromosomes, which were classified into three clusters. Additionally, all GmGAPDH genes harbor two highly conserved domains, including Gp_dh_N (PF00044) and Gp_dh_C (PF02800). The qRTPCR analysis also showed that most GmGAPDH genes significantly responded to multiple abiotic stresses, including NaHCO3, polyethylene glycol, cold, and salt. Among them, GmGAPDH14 was extraordinarily induced by salt stress. The GmGAPDH14 gene was cloned and overexpressed through soybean hair roots. The overexpressed transgenic soybean plants of the GmGAPDH14 gene have also shown better growth than that of control plants. Moreover, the overexpressed transgenic plants of GmGAPDH14 gene had higher activities of superoxide dismutase but lower malonaldehyde (MDA) content than those of control plants under salt stress. Meanwhile, a total of four haplotypes were found for the GmGAPDH14 gene, and haplotypes 2, 3, and 4 were beneficial for the tolerance of soybean to salt stress. These results suggest that the GmGAPDH14 gene might be involved in the process of soybean tolerance to salt stress. The results of this study will be valuable in understanding the role of GAPDH genes in the abiotic stress response of soybean.

Objectives: An outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant occurred in Guangzhou in 2021. This study aimed to identify the transmission dynamics and epidemiological characteristics of the Delta variant outbreak to formulate an effective prevention strategy. Methods: A total of 13102 close contacts and 69 index cases were collected. The incubation period, serial interval, and time interval from the exposure of close contacts to the symptom onset of cases were estimated. Transmission risks based on the exposure time and various characteristics were also assessed. Results: The mean time from exposure to symptom onset among non-household presymptomatic transmission was 3.83 ± 2.29 days, the incubation period was 5 days, and the serial interval was 3 days. The secondary attack rate was high within 4 days before onset and 4–10 days after symptom onset. Compared with other contact types, household contact had a higher transmission risk. The transmission risk increased with the number and frequency of contact with index cases. Cycle threshold (Ct) values were associated with lower transmission risk (adjusted odds ratio [OR] 0.93 [95% CI 0.88–0.99] for ORF 1ab gene; adjusted OR 0.91 [95% CI 0.86–0.97] for N gene). Conclusion: The contact tracing period may need to be extended to 4 days before symptom onset. The low Ct value of index cases, the high number and frequency of contact with index cases, and household contacts were associated with a higher transmission risk of SARS-CoV-2 Delta.

The idea of using engineered bacteria as prospective living therapeutic agents for the treatment of different diseases has been raised. Nevertheless, the development of safe and effective treatment strategies remains essential to the success of living bacteria-mediated therapy. Hydrogels have presented great promise for the delivery of living bacterial therapeutics due to their tunable physicochemical properties, good bioactivities, and excellent protection of labile payloads. In this review, we summarize the hydrogel design strategies for living bacteria-mediated therapy and review the recent advances in hydrogel-based living bacterial agent delivery for the treatment of typical diseases, including those for digestive health, skin fungal infections, wound healing, vaccines, and cancer, and discuss the current challenges and future perspectives of these strategies in the field. It is believed that the importance of hydrogel-based living bacteria-mediated therapy is expected to further increase with the development of both synthetic biology and biomaterials science in the future.

In this paper, the wind-induced responses of the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC) under Super Typhoon Lekima are measured using the health monitoring system. Based on the measurements, the characteristics of vibration, including probability density distribution of accelerations, power spectra, and mode shapes are studied. The curve method and the standard deviation method are used to analyze the relationship of the first- and second-order natural frequencies and damping ratios with amplitudes and the mean wind speed. The results show the following: (1) The structural wind-induced responses in the X and Y directions have high consistencies, and the vibration signals exhibit a peak state; moreover, response amplitudes and acceleration signals disperse when the floor height increases. (2) The first- and second-order natural frequencies in the X and Y directions decrease with the increasing amplitudes and are negatively correlated with mean wind speed; the maximum decrease in natural frequency is 5.794%. The first- and second-order damping ratios in the X and Y directions increase with the increasing amplitudes and are positively correlated with the mean wind speed; the maximum increase in damping ratio is 95.7%. (3) The curve method and the standard deviation method are similar in identifying dynamic characteristic parameters, but the discreteness of the natural frequencies obtained by the curve method is lesser. (4) Under excitations of various typhoons, the mode shapes of SWFC are basically the same, and the mode shapes in the X and Y directions increase with the height and have nonlinearity.

Soybean frogeye leaf spot (FLS) is a worldwide fungal disease. Its higher occurrence frequency and wider distribution range always led to severe yield losses of soybean, therefore, breeding new cultivars with FLS resistance has been an important breeding goal for soybean breeders. In this study, an association panel of 183 representative soybean accessions was used to evaluate their resistance to FLS race 1, and to identify quantitative trait nucleotides (QTNs) and candidate genes based on genome-wide association study (GWAS) and high-throughput single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). A total of 23,156 high-quality SNPs were developed using the specific locus-amplified fragment sequencing (SLAF-seq) approach. Finally, 13 novel association signals associated with FLS race 1 resistance were identified by the compressed mixed linear model (CMLM). In addition, 119 candidate genes were found within the 200-kb flanking genomic region of these 13 peak SNPs. Based on the gene-based association analysis, haplotype analysis, expression pattern analysis, and virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) systems, four genes (Glyma.05G121100, Glyma.17G228300, Glyma.19G006900, and Glyma.19G008700) were preliminarily proved to play an important role in the soybean resistance to FLS race 1.

Due to weather, seasons, and other factors, photovoltaic power generation cannot be predicted accurately. A Hybrid energy storage system can effectively reduce the impact of unbalanced power generated by this situation. In this paper, retired power batteries and super capacitors are used to form an energy storage system. A community system model is established. An improved lumped average empirical mode decomposition algorithm is used to decompose unbalanced power. Hilbert transform is used to obtain the reference boundary frequency of the energy storage system. Taking the minimum community investment cost as the objective function, a dimensional gravity center reverse mutation particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to solve the problem. The capacity allocation with good investment economy is determined. Two cases of conventional battery energy storage and retired power batteries are analyzed through numerical simulation. The results show that the hybrid energy storage system based on retired power batteries proposed in this paper can reduce investment and has a better economy.

Organoplatinum (II) complexes are promising candidates for the construction of smart supramolecular materials due to their unique flat structures. This accompanied by intriguing luminescent properties, prompts the molecules to aggregate after external stimuli. Nevertheless, the utilization of photo-responsive subunits to modulate their assemble behaviors and functions are still rarely explored. In this work, azobenzene (azo)-appended tridentate platinum (II) complexes with different linkers have been designed and synthesized. The intermolecular hydrogen bonding, π-π stacking, and metal-metal interactions were finely controlled through the tiny alteration of the linkers, which was found to play a vital role in self-assembly, and photophysical and photoisomerization properties. Some of them exhibited dual emission bands originating from metal-perturbed triplet intraligand (3IL) and metal-metal to ligand charge transfer (3MMLCT) excited states due to the different intermolecular interactions. Based on this, the manipulation of switchable luminescence as well as the controllable morphologies have been realized by photoisomerization.

To study the wind field characteristics near the ground pulsation in typhoon conditions, wind field conditions in the area affected by Typhoon “Fung-Wong” were monitored using wind field instruments installed in the construction building of Wenzhou University, China. Real-time wind field data were collected during typhoons. Wind characteristic parameters such as mean wind speed, wind direction angle, turbulence intensity, gust factor, peak factor, coherence function, and autocorrelation were analyzed, and the wind field characteristics during the typhoon were summarized. The results indicated that the longitudinal and lateral turbulence intensities decreased with an increase in the mean wind speed, and there was an obvious linear relationship between them. The vertical and horizontal gust factor and peak factor decreased with an increase in mean wind speed, and the trend was more obvious in the horizontal direction. There was a significant correlation between the gust factor and the peak factor. The turbulence intensity and gust factor decreased with time, and the turbulence intensity attenuation speed increased with time. The empirical curve presented by Davenport (1961) can simulate the correlation characteristics of the fluctuating wind speed components of Typhoon Fung-Wong at some measuring points. With an increase in the time difference, the dependence of the instantaneous values at the two time points gradually decreased.

Two WJ-3 anemometers placed at the same height on the top of an architectural engineering building in Wenzhou University are used to determine the wind speed of Typhoon Morakot during its landing in real time. This study aims to explore Typhoon Morakot’s wind field characteristics, including mean wind speed, probability density distribution of fluctuating wind speed, power spectral density, correlation analysis, and coherence, on the basis of data measured by the two anemometers. Results show that the probability density distribution of the fluctuating wind speed of the typhoon follows the Gaussian distribution, and the measured cross-power spectrum of fluctuating wind speed is in good agreement with the modified Karman spectrum. The autocorrelation decreases with the increase in time interval (τ). The longitudinal autocorrelation coefficient decays rapidly with the increase in τ, and the lateral autocorrelation coefficient decays at an unchanged rate. The exponential attenuation coefficients of the longitudinal and transverse fluctuating wind speeds increase with the increase in the mean wind speed, and their mean values are 10.86 and 15.33, respectively. The change trends of the coherence coefficients of the two wind speed components with the mean wind speed are the same. The measured coherence coefficients of the two wind speed components are in good agreement with the exponential function.

The southeast coastal region of China is frequently affected by typhoons. The observation station was chosen to be located on the roof of Wenzhou University’s architectural engineering building to collect real-time wind speed data during the landfalling of Typhoon Morakot to investigate the properties of the near-ground wind field of typhoons. The turbulence characteristics of the near-ground wind and its variation with time intervals are analyzed on the basis of real-time measured data. The results show that the turbulence intensity only changes with the mean wind speed under relatively low wind speeds. The gust factors exhibit a scattered distribution under low wind speeds and tend to cluster together when the wind speed exceeds 8 m/s. With increasing time intervals, the turbulence intensity and the gust factor gradually decrease. The relationship between turbulence intensity and gust factor is obtained by the measured data and then compared with the empirical formulas. The peak factor remains constant while the mean wind speed changes, but diminish as the time intervals rise. The turbulence integral scale of typhoons slightly increases with the increasing mean wind speed, and its value falls between 70 and 150.

Background/Aims: Both the Acute physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE II) score and mean platelet volume/platelet count Ratio (MPR) can independently predict adverse outcomes in critically ill patients. This study was aimed to investigate whether the combination of them could have a better performance in predicting prognosis of patients with acute kidney injury (AKI) who received continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Methods: Two hundred twenty-three patients with AKI who underwent CRRT between January 2009 and December 2014 in a Chinese university hospital were enrolled. They were divided into survivals group and non-survivals group based on the situation at discharge. Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve was used for MPR and APACHE II score, and to determine the optimal cut-off value of MPR for in-hospital mortality. Factors associated with mortality were identified by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results: The mean age of the patients was 61.4 years, and the overall in-hospital mortality was 48.4%. Acute cardiorenal syndrome (ACRS) was the most common cause of AKI. The optimal cut-off value of MPR for mortality was 0.099 with an area under the ROC curve (AUC) of 0.636. The AUC increased to 0.851 with the addition of the APACHE II score. The mortality of patients with of MPR > 0.099 was 56.4%, which was significantly higher than that of the control group with of ≤ 0.099 (39.6%, P= 0.012). Logistic regression analysis showed that average number of organ failure (OR = 2.372), APACHE II score (OR = 1.187), age (OR = 1.028) and vasopressors administration (OR = 38.130) were significantly associated with poor prognosis. Conclusion: Severity of illness was significantly associated with prognosis of patients with AKI. The combination of MPR and APACHE II score may be helpful in predicting the short-term outcome of AKI.

Soil salt content (SSC) is normally featured with obvious spatiotemporal variations in arid and semi-arid regions. Space factors such as elevation, temperature, and spatial locations are usually used as input variables for a model to estimate the SSC. However, whether temporal patterns of salt-affected soils (identified as temporal spectral patterns) can indicate the SSC level and be applied as a covariate in a model to estimate the SSC remains unclear. Hence, temporal changes in soil spectral patterns need to be characterized and explored as to their use as an input variable to improve SSC estimates. In this study, a total of 54 field samples and a time-series of Sentinel-2 multispectral images taken at monthly intervals (from October 2017 to April 2018) were collected in the Yinbei area of western China. Then, two-date satellite images were used to quantify significant spectral changes over time using spectral change vector analysis, and four two-date-based index methods were used to characterize soil spectral changes. Lastly, the optimal two-date-based spectral indices and multispectral bands were used as input variables to build the estimation models using a random forest algorithm. Results showed that the two-date-based spectral index could be applied as an input variable to improve the accuracy of SSC estimation at a regional scale. Temporal changes in salt-induced spectral patterns can be indicated by the band difference in the wavelength range from 400 nm to 900 nm. Three two-date-based indices designated as D28a (i.e., the band difference between band 2 from an image acquired in April 2018 and band 8a from an image acquired in December 2017), D22, and D28 were the optimal parameters for characterizing salt-induced spectral changes, which were dominated by the total brightness, chloride, and sulfate accumulation of the soils. The model did not yield satisfactory estimation results (RPD = 1.49) when multispectral bands were used as the input variables. Multispectral bands coupled with two two-date-based indices (D22 and D28a) used as the input variables produced the best estimation result (R2 = 0.92, RPD = 3.27). Incorporating multispectral bands and two-date-based indices into the random forest model provides a remotely-sensed strategy that effectively supports the monitoring of soil salt content.

The combustion process of one 1000-MW ultra-supercritical double-tangential-circle boiler was numerically studied and the three-dimensional full-size structure of the boiler was full considered. The influences of primary and over-fire air velocity as well as the jet structure on NOx generation characteristics were examined. In addition, the NOx generation characteristics of the improved burner structure were compared with those of the original one. Numerical results show that there exist two inverse elliptical flow fields and temperature fields. Moreover, the NOx generation and distribution characteristics are related to the temperature field to a certain extent. For different burner jet structures and arrangements, NOx distribution curves of the horizontal cross section are all W-shaped, but the NOx generation and distribution performance are correspondingly different, while the NOx emission changes are unobvious for different design schemes of the boiler burner. When we arrange one layer of auxiliary air from the burner undersurface, the flow area of the primary coal powder jet is enlarged by 100% and the coal feeding is increased by 20%. As a result, the temperature around the burner zone rises significantly. However, when two layers of auxiliary air are adopted, the combustion characteristic is promoted and NOx generation increases slightly. Based on the arrangement of the burner in the ultra-supercritical boiler, NOx generation does not vary obviously at different boiler loads. To achieve a better scheme, numerical and experimental studies are both performed in this study, and identical results are obtained. The current results may provide a theoretical basis for burner design improvement.

This article presents a nonlinear dynamic model of a flexible robotic arm considering nonlinearity from elastic deformation and the effect of gravity. The dynamic model can be decomposed into separate flexible and rigid subsystems. A decomposed dynamic control, including flexible and rigid dynamic controls, is proposed for the controller of the flexible robotic arm. Optimization is used in this flexible dynamic control to obtain the desired trajectory and can deal offline with strong nonlinearity, but it is excessively dependent on the accuracy of the model, so it is not robust enough and has poor disturbance-rejection capabilities. The rigid dynamic control, by contrast, is expected to be sufficiently robust to compensate for uncertain factors. Therefore, a hybrid sliding mode control is proposed to track the desired trajectory and further suppress residual vibration. Additionally, the actual flexible modes are estimated to accurately calculate the component of the proposed controller. This study addresses the theoretical derivation and experimental verification of the proposed controller.

Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) isoflavone is important for human health and plant defense system. To identify novel quantitative trait loci (QTL) and epistatic QTL underlying isoflavone content in soybean, F5:6, F5:7 and F5:8 populations of 130 recombinant inbred (RI) lines, derived from the cross of soybean cultivar 'Zhong Dou 27' (high isoflavone) and 'Jiu Nong 20' (low isoflavone), were analyzed with 95 new SSR markers. A new linkage map including 194 SSR markers and covering 2,312 cM with mean distance of about 12 cM between markers was constructed. Thirty four QTL for both individual and total seed isoflavone contents of soybean were identified. Six, seven, ten and eleven QTL were associated with daidzein (DZ), glycitein (GC), genistein (GT) and total isoflavone (TI), respectively. Of them 23 QTL were newly identified. The qTIF_1 between Satt423 and Satt569 shared the same marker Satt569 with qDZF_2, qGTF_1 and qTIF_2. The qGTD2_1 between Satt186 and Satt226 was detected in four environments and explained 3.41%-10.98% of the phenotypic variation. The qGTA2_1, overlapped with qGCA2_1 and detected in four environments, was close to the previously identified major QTL for GT, which were responsible for large a effects. QTL (qDZF_2, qGTF_1 and qTIF_2) between Satt144-Satt569 were either clustered or pleiotropic. The qGCM_1, qGTM_1 and qTIM_1 between Satt540-Sat_244 explained 2.02%-9.12% of the phenotypic variation over six environments. Moreover, the qGCE_1 overlapped with qGTE_1 and qTIE_1, the qTIH_2 overlapped with qGTH_1, qGCI_1 overlapped with qDZI_1, qTIL_1 overlapped with qGTL_1, and qTIO_1 overlapped with qGTO_1. In this study, some of unstable QTL were detected in different environments, which were due to weak expression of QTL, QTL by environment interaction in the opposite direction to a effects, and/or epistasis. The markers identified in multi-environments in this study could be applied in the selection of soybean cultivars for higher isoflavone content and in the map-based gene cloning.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short, non-coding single-strand RNA molecules that play important roles in plant growth, development and stress responses. Flowering time affects the seed yield and quality of soybean. However, the miRNAs involved in the regulation of flowering time in soybean have not been reported until recently. Here, high-throughput sequencing and qRT-PCR were used to identify miRNAs involved in soybean photoperiodic pathways. The first trifoliate leaves of soybean that receive the signal of light treatment were used to construct six libraries (0, 8, and 16 h under short-day (SD) treatment and 0, 8, and 16 h under long-day (LD) treatment). The libraries were sequenced using Illumina Solexa. A total of 318 known plant miRNAs belonging to 163 miRNA families and 81 novel predicted miRNAs were identified. Among these, 23 miRNAs at 0 h, 65 miRNAs at 8 h and 83 miRNAs at 16 h, including six novel predicted miRNAs at 8 h and six novel predicted miRNAs at 16 h, showed differences in abundance between LD and SD treatments. Furthermore, the results of GO and KEGG analyses indicated that most of the miRNA targets were transcription factors. Seven miRNAs at 0 h, 23 miRNAs (including four novel predicted miRNAs) at 8 h, 16 miRNAs (including one novel predicted miRNA) at 16 h and miRNA targets were selected for qRT-PCR analysis to assess the accuracy of the sequencing and target prediction. The results indicated that the expression patterns of the selected miRNAs and miRNA targets showed no differences between the qRT-PCR and sequencing results. In addition, 23 miRNAs at 0 h, 65 miRNAs at 8 h and 83 miRNAs at 16 h responded to day length changes in soybean, including six novel predicted miRNAs at 8 h and six novel predicted miRNAs at 16 h. These results provided an important molecular basis to understand the regulation of flowering time through photoperiodic pathways in soybean.

Of three first-line anti-tuberculosis (anti-TB) drugs, isoniazid is most commonly associated with hepatotoxicity. Differences in INH-induced toxicity have been attributed to genetic variability at several loci, NAT2, CYP2E1, GSTM1and GSTT1, that code for drug-metabolizing enzymes. This study evaluated whether the polymorphisms in these enzymes were associated with an increased risk of anti-TB drug-induced hepatitis in patients and could potentially be used to identify patients at risk of liver injury.In a cross-sectional study, 2244 tuberculosis patients were assessed two months after the start of treatment. Anti-TB drug-induced liver injury (ATLI) was defined as an ALT, AST or bilirubin value more than twice the upper limit of normal. NAT2, CYP2E1, GSTM1 and GSTT1 genotypes were determined using the PCR/ligase detection reaction assays.2244 patients were evaluated, there were 89 cases of ATLI, a prevalence of 4% 9 patients (0.4%) had ALT levels more than 5 times the upper limit of normal. The prevalence of ATLI was greater among men than women, and there was a weak association with NAT2*5 genotypes, with ATLI more common among patients with the NAT2*5*CT genotype. The sensitivity of the CT genotype for identifying patients with ATLI was 42% and the positive predictive value 5.9%. CT ATLI was more common among slow acetylators (prevalence ratio 2.0 (95% CI 0.95,4.20) )compared to rapid acetylators. There was no evidence that ATLI was associated with CYP2E1 RsaIc1/c1genotype, CYP2E1 RsaIc1/c2 or c2/c2 genotypes, or GSTM1/GSTT1 null genotypes.In Xinjiang Uyghur TB patients, liver injury was associated with the genetic variant NAT2*5, however the genetic markers studied are unlikely to be useful for screening patients due to the low sensitivity and low positive predictive values for identifying persons at risk of liver injury.

Abstract Fruit color is a crucial trait for bell pepper. To investigate the mechanism of color formation, three bell pepper lines with different color (yellow, orange and red) were used as materials to conduct comprehensive targeted metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses. During the process of fruit development, 54 carotenoids metabolites were discovered, exhibiting unique accumulation patterns and notable variety specificity. The types and content of carotenoids in orange fruit (OM) were notably greater compared to the other two varieties. Red pigment (capsanthin and capsorubin) was specifically enriched in red fruit (RM), and yellow pigment (lutein and zeaxanthin) is the highest in yellow fruit (YM) and OM. Five modules positively correlated with carotenoid accumulation and one negative module was determined by weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA). Additionally, transcription factors (TFs) and hub genes related to carotenoid synthesis were predicted. By elucidating the regulation of 7 key carotenoid metabolites by 14 critical genes and 5 key TFs, we constructed a comprehensive carotenoid biosynthesis metabolic network that comprehensively explains the pigment changes observed in green and mature pepper fruit. Overall, the results not only provide important insights into carotenoid synthesis pathway, but also lay a solid base for revealing the mechanism of bell pepper color transformation.
