Abstract Ovarian granulosa cells are essential to gonadotrophin-regulated estrogen production, female cycle maintenance and fertility. The epithelial Na+ channel (ENaC) is associated with female fertility; however, whether and how it plays a role in ovarian cell function(s) remained unexplored. Here, we report patch-clamp and Na+ imaging detection of ENaC expression and channel activity in both human and mouse ovarian granulosa cells, which are promoted by pituitary gonadotrophins, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) or luteinizing hormone (LH). Cre-recombinase- and CRISPR-Cas9-based granulosa-specific knockout of ENaC α subunit (Scnn1a) in mice resulted in failed estrogen elevation at early estrus, reduced number of corpus luteum, abnormally extended estrus phase, reduced litter size and subfertility in adult female mice. Further analysis using technologies including RNA sequencing and Ca2+ imaging revealed that pharmacological inhibition, shRNA-based knockdown or the knockout of ENaC diminished spontaneous or stimulated Ca2+ oscillations, lowered the capacity of intracellular Ca2+ stores and impaired FSH/LH-stimulated transcriptome changes for estrogen production in mouse and/or human granulosa cells. Together, these results have revealed a previously undefined role of ENaC in modulating gonadotrophin signaling in granulosa cells for estrogen homeostasis and thus female fertility.

Regular physicochemical and microbiological properties and volatile flavors of Sichuan Wu xiang-style sausages collected from Chengdu City were analyzed and used to reveal the quality characteristics of Sichuan Wu xiang-style sausage. The results showed that moisture content was 11.73%±1.64%, pH value was 5.68±0.06, TBARS value was 1.47±0.48 mg/kg, nitrite content was 1.31±0.12 mg/kg, and L*, a*, and b* was 48.12±1.46, 16.08±0.91, 18.31±0.73 respectively. The aerobic plate count, suspected staphylococci count, suspected lactic acid bacteria count, and Enterobacteriaceae count was 7.09±0.14, 5.74±0.23, 7.64±0.14 and 4.27±0.15 lg CFU/g, respectively. 97 kinds of volatile compounds were totally detected from Sichuan Wu xiang-style sausage samples, and 22 shared volatile compounds with odor activity value (OAV) greater than 1 were regarded as the main volatile flavors. Furthermore, it was showed that (+)-limonene, linalool and artemisia brain contributed most to the typical flavor of Wu xiang-style sausage through the loading plot of principal component analysis, imparting citrus, mint, floral, lavender, liquorice, and aniseed odors. The results obtained revealed the main volatile compounds and typical flavor characteristics of Sichuan Wu xiang-style sausage, and laid foundations for further researches on the flavor characteristics of Sichuan Wu xiang-style sausage.

ObjectivesIn order to meet the practical requirements for simulating ship motion in adverse sea conditions on land, the development of a high-speed heavy-load and large-travel lifting platform is necessary.MethodsAiming at the characteristics of moving platforms such as heavy-load high-speed and variable parameters, the dynamic simulation analysis of a high-speed lifting platform with a weight-balanced structure and four-steel-cable synchronous servo drive is carried out on the basis of Adams simulation software. Based on the principle of the similarity of control characteristics, a 1∶14 reduced ratio high-speed lifting platform is developed. ResultsThrough the response characteristic testing of the platform, its advantages such as strong synchronization and highly accurate control system are verified. The moving platform can accurately simulate the heave motion of ships in adverse sea conditions.ConclusionsThe high-speed lifting platform with a weight balance and four-steel-cable synchronous servo drive designed herein will fill in the blank for the large-scale heave motion simulation of ships and provide references for the R&D of similar motion simulators.

Abstract Yuxi, located in China’s central plateau of Yunnan, is grappling with ecological and environmental challenges as it continues to develop its economy. While ecological quality assessment serves as the foundation for ecological protection, it is pivotal to have reliable and long-term methods for assessing the ecological status to support informed decision-making in ecological protection. Reliable and long-term methods for assessing ecological status in order to facilitate informed decision-making in ecological protection are applied. This study utilized Landsat data to reconstruct four indices (greenness, wetness, dryness, and heat) during the vegetation growth in Yuxi from 2000 to 2020 that employs Harmonic Analysis of Time Series (HANTS) method. Subsequently, the annual Remote Sensing Ecological Index (RSEI) was computed by using the reconstructed indices to evaluate ecological quality in Yuxi. Additionally, spatiotemporal patterns and determinants of Yuxi’s ecological quality are unveiled through Sen’s slope estimator and Mann–Kendall test (Sen + MK) trend analysis, spatial auto-correlation analysis, and geographical detectors applied to year-by-year RSEI data. The findings in the paper indicate that the accuracy of the RSEI is significantly influenced by the vegetation season, suggesting that constructing the RSEI model with data from the vegetation growth season is crucial. Moreover, the HANTS optimization method effectively enhances the ecological indices used in the RSEI model, leading to smoother and more continuous filling of missing data. The difference between the reconstructed RSEI and the original RSEI falls within the range of − 0.15 to 0.15. Yuxi has an average RSEI of 0.54 to emphasis a moderate level of comprehensive ecological quality. Compared with river valley plains, the ecological quality of mountainous areas is higher, and the ecological quality of Yuxi presents a distinct center-edge pattern. From 2000 to 2020, Yuxi’s ecological quality exhibited fluctuations, with a slight overall improvement. Land use patterns, particularly in forestry land and impervious surfaces, are identified as the main drivers of these changes. The research offers valuable insights for scientific decision-making related to sustainable development and ecological protection.

The construction of N-fused polycyclic compounds at room temperature via the combination of transition-metal catalyst and photocatalyst has been reported. This novel work has successfully realized LED irradiated C−H activation of iodonium ylides. The strategy shows wide substrate scope and ideal functional group tolerance. Our work would be useful for the construction of various heterocyclic compounds.

Abstract A new 3D metal–organic frameworks [Cd6(L)4(bipy)3(H2O)2·H2O] (1) was gained by employing Cd(II) and organic ligand [H3L = 4,4′,4′′-(benzene-1,3,5-triyltris(oxy))tribenzoic acid)benzene acid; bipy = 4,4′-bipyridine] in the solvothermal condition, which has been fully examined via single-X ray diffraction, FTIR and elemental analysis and so on. Using natural polysaccharides hyaluronic acid (HA) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) as raw materials, we successfully prepared HA/CMCS hydrogels and observed their internal micromorphology by scanning electron microscopy. Using doxorubicin (Dox) as a drug model, we synthesized a novel metal gel particle loaded with doxorubicin, and their encapsulation and release effects were studied using fluorescence spectroscopy, followed by further investigation of their components through thermogravimetric analysis. Based on this, the therapeutic effect on leukemia was evaluated. Finally, an enhanced learning method for automatically designing new ligand structures from host ligands was proposed. Through generative modeling and molecular docking simulations, the biological behavior of the host and predicted cadmium complexes was extensively studied.

Abstract Cyclotides are a type of defense peptide most commonly found in the Violaceae family of plants, exhibiting various biological activities. In this study, we focused on the Viola japonica as our research subject and conducted transcriptome sequencing and analysis using high-throughput transcriptomics techniques. During this process, we identified 61 cyclotides, among which 25 were previously documented, while the remaining 36 were designated as vija 1 to vija 36. Mass spectrometry detection showed that 21 putative cyclotides were found in the extract of V. japonica. Through isolation, purification and tandem mass spectrometry, we characterized and investigated the activities of five cyclotides. Our results demonstrated inhibitory effects of these cyclotides on the growth of Acinetobacter baumannii and Bacillus subtilis, with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of 4.2 μM and 2.1 μM, respectively. Furthermore, time killing kinetic assays revealed that cyclotides at concentration of 4 MICs achieved completely bactericidal effects within 2 h. Additionally, fluorescence staining experiments confirmed that cyclotides disrupt microbial membranes. Moreover, cytotoxicity studies showed that cyclotides possess cytotoxic effects, with IC50 values ranging from 0.1 to 3.5 μM. In summary, the discovery of new cyclotide sequences enhances our understanding of peptide diversity and the exploration of their activity lays the foundation for a deeper investigation into the mechanisms of action of cyclotides.

Abstract Background The objective of this study is to develop and validate a machine learning (ML) prediction model for the assessment of laparoscopic total mesorectal excision (LaTME) surgery difficulty, as well as to identify independent risk factors that influence surgical difficulty. Establishing a nomogram aims to assist clinical practitioners in formulating more effective surgical plans before the procedure. Methods This study included 186 patients with rectal cancer who underwent LaTME from January 2018 to December 2020. They were divided into a training cohort (n = 131) versus a validation cohort (n = 55). The difficulty of LaTME was defined based on Escal’s et al. scoring criteria with modifications. We utilized Lasso regression to screen the preoperative clinical characteristic variables and intraoperative information most relevant to surgical difficulty for the development and validation of four ML models: logistic regression (LR), support vector machine (SVM), random forest (RF), and decision tree (DT). The performance of the model was assessed based on the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC), sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy. Logistic regression-based column-line plots were created to visualize the predictive model. Consistency statistics (C-statistic) and calibration curves were used to discriminate and calibrate the nomogram, respectively. Results In the validation cohort, all four ML models demonstrate good performance: SVM AUC = 0.987, RF AUC = 0.953, LR AUC = 0.950, and DT AUC = 0.904. To enhance visual evaluation, a logistic regression-based nomogram has been established. Predictive factors included in the nomogram are body mass index (BMI), distance between the tumor to the dentate line ≤ 10 cm, radiodensity of visceral adipose tissue (VAT), area of subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT), tumor diameter >3 cm, and comorbid hypertension. Conclusion In this study, four ML models based on intraoperative and preoperative risk factors and a nomogram based on logistic regression may be of help to surgeons in evaluating the surgical difficulty before operation and adopting appropriate responses and surgical protocols.

Abstract Peer feedback literacy is becoming increasingly important in higher education as peer feedback has substantially grown as a pedagogical approach. However, quality of produced feedback, a key behavioral aspect of peer feedback literacy, lacks a systematic and evidence-based conceptualization to guide research, instruction, and system design. We introduce a novel framework involving six conceptual dimensions of peer feedback quality that can be measured and supported in online peer feedback contexts: reviewing process, rating accuracy, feedback amount, perceived comment quality, actual comment quality, and feedback content. We then test the underlying dimensionality of student competencies through correlational analysis, Multidimensional Scaling, and cluster analysis, using data from 844 students engaged in online peer feedback in a university-level course. The separability of the conceptual dimensions is largely supported in the cluster analysis. However, the cluster analysis also suggests restructuring perceived and actual comment quality in terms of initial impact and ultimate impact. The Multi-Dimensional Scaling suggests the dimensions of peer feedback can be conceptualized in terms of relative emphasis on expertise vs. effort and on overall review quality vs. individual comment quality. The findings provide a new road map for meta-analyses, empirical studies, and system design work focused on peer feedback literacy.

To realize an initial objective of the negative ion-based neutral beam injection (N-NBI) at the Comprehensive Research Facility for Fusion Technology (CRAFT) test facility, which targets an H0 beam power of 2 MW at an energy of 200–400 keV and a pulse duration of 100 s, it is crucial to study the cesium dynamics of the negative ion source. Here a numerical simulation program CSFC3D is developed and applied to simulate the distribution and time dynamics of cesium during short pulses. The calculations show that most of the cesium on the plasma grid (PG) area originates from the release of cesium that is accumulated within the ion source in the plasma phase. Increasing the wall temperature reduces the loss of cesium on the wall of the ion source. Furthermore, the thickness of the cesium monolayer is directly influenced by the PG temperature. Both simulated and experimental results demonstrate that maintaining the PG temperature between 180 °C and 200 °C is essential for enhancing the performance of the ion source and optimizing the cesium behavior.

PurposeThis study aimed to compare the efficacy of [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT with that of [18F]FDG PET/CT for detecting postoperative recurrence in patients with gastric cancer.MethodsThis single-center retrospective clinical study was performed at Hunan Cancer Hospital between December 2020 and June 2022. The participants underwent both [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 and [18F]FDG within 14 days. Histopathologic examination, morphological imaging, and/or follow-up imaging were used as a reference for the final diagnosis. We recorded the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV) and accuracy of [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 and [18F]FDG PET/CT for detecting local recurrence, lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis. The SUVmax and background ratio (TBR) of local recurrence and metastases between [18F]FDG and [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT were compared using paired-sample t tests.ResultsForty-seven patients (27 males, aged 25–68 years) with gastric cancer after curative resection (27 with adenocarcinoma, 17 with signet ring cell carcinoma and 4 with mucinous adenocarcinoma) were included in the study. [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 accumulation was significantly greater than that of [18F]FDG in terms of local recurrence (SUVmax, 11.65 vs 3.48, p< 0.0001; TBR, 12.93 vs 2.94, p< 0.0001), lymph node metastasis (SUVmax, 13.45 vs 3.05, p=0.003875; TBR, 12.43 vs 2.21, p=0.001661), and distant metastasis (SUVmax, 11.89 vs 2.96, p < 0.0001; TBR, 13.32 vs 2.32, p< 0.0001). Despite no statistical comparison was made with [18F]FDG, [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 imaging exhibited high levels of sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV, and accuracy for detecting postoperative local recurrence, lymph node metastasis, and distant metastasis in patients with gastric cancer.Conclusion[18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 has demonstrated potential for more accurate tumor re-evaluation in GC, thus enhancing treatment decision-making.

Abstract Artificial light‐harvesting systems (LHSs) with a multi‐step sequential energy transfer mechanism significantly enhance light energy utilization. Nonetheless, most of these systems exhibit an overall energy transfer efficiency below 80%. Moreover, due to challenges in molecularly aligning multiple donor/acceptor chromophores, systems featuring ≥3‐step sequential energy transfer are rarely reported. Here, a series of artificial LHSs is introduced featuring up to 4‐step energy transfer mechanism, constructed using a cyclic peptide‐based supramolecular scaffold. These LHSs showed remarkably high energy transfer efficiencies (≥90%) and satisfactory fluorescence quantum yields (ranging from 17.6% to 58.4%). Furthermore, the structural robustness of the supramolecular scaffold enables a comprehensive study of these systems, elucidating the associated energy transfer pathways, and identifying additional energy transfer processes beyond the targeted sequential energy transfer. Overall, this comprehensive investigation not only enhances the understanding of these LHSs, but also underscores the versatility of cyclic peptide‐based supramolecular scaffolds in advancing energy harvesting technologies.

Abstract The thermal runaway issue represents a long‐standing obstacle that retards large‐scale applications of lithium metal batteries. Various approaches to inhibit thermal runaway suffer from some intrinsic drawbacks, either being irreversible or delayed thermal protection. Herein, this work has explored thermo‐responsive lower critical solution temperature (LCST) ionic liquid‐based electrolytes, which provides reversible overheating protection for batteries with warning and shut‐down stages, well corresponding to an initial stage of thermal runaway process. The batteries could function stably below 70 °C as a working mode, while demonstrating a warning mode above 80 °C with a noticeable reduction in specific capacitance to delay temperature increase of batteries. In terms of 110 °C as a critically dangerous temperature, a shut‐down mode is designed to minimize the thermal energy releasing as the batteries are barely chargeable and dischargeable. Dynamically growing polymeric particles above LCST contributed to such an intelligent and mild control on specific capacitance. Larger size will occupy larger surfaces of electrodes and close more pores of separators, enabling a gradual suppressing of Li+ transfer and reactions. The present work demonstrated a scientific design of thermoresponsive LCST electrolytes with a superiorly precise and intelligent control of electrochemical performances to achieve self‐adapted overheating protections.

This study investigates the dynamic characteristics of the dual-mode resonant non-linear Schrodinger equation with a Bhom potential. Hydrodynamics, nonlinear optical fibre communication, elastic media, and plasma physics are just a few of the mathematical physics and engineering applications for this model. The study aims to achieve two main objectives: first, to discuss bifurcation analysis, and second, to extract optical soliton solutions using the extended hyperbolic function method. The study successfully derives various wave solutions, including bright, singular, periodic singular and dark solitons, based on the governing model. The findings conferred in this article show a crucial advancement in understanding the propagation of waves in non-linear media. Additionally, bifurcation of phase portraits of ordinary differential equation consistent with the partial differential equation under consideration is conducted. We also highlight specific constraint conditions that ensure the presence of these obtained solutions. The existing literature shows that these methods are first time applied on this model.

Objective: Integrated stress response (ISR) is activated to promote cell survival by maintaining the phosphorylation of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 (eIF2α). We investigated whether Sephin1 enhances ISR and attenuates myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (MIR) injury. Methods: Male C57BL/6 J mice were injected with Sephin1 (2 mg/kg,i.p.) 30 min before surgery to establish a model of MIR with 45 min ischemia and 180 min reperfusion. In vitro, the H9C2 cell line with hypoxia-reoxygenation (H/R) was used to simulate MIR. Myocardial injury was evaluated by echocardiography, histologic observation after staining with TTC and H&E and electron microscopy. ISR, autophagy and apoptosis in vivo and in vitro were evaluated by immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry, respectively. Global protein synthesis was determined using a non-radioactive SUnSET Assay based on the puromycin method. Autophinib, an autophagy-specific inhibitor, was used to investigate the correlation between autophagy and apoptosis in the presence of Sephin1. Results: In vivo, Sephin1 significantly reduced myocardial injury and improved the cardiac function in MIR mice. Sephin1 administration prolonged ISR, reduced cell apoptosis, and promoted autophagy. In vitro, Sephin1 increased the number of stress granules (SGs) and autophagic vesicles, enhanced ISR and related protein synthesis suppression, and reduced cell apoptosis. Autophinib partly reversed autophagosome formation and apoptosis in H9c2 cells. Conclusions: Sephin1 enhances ISR and related protein synthesis suppression, ameliorates myocardial apoptosis, and promotes autophagy during MIR stress. Sephin1 could act as a noval ISR enhancer for managing acute myocardial ischemia disease.

The [2,3]- and [1,2]-sigmatropic rearrangement reactions between pyridotriazoles and sulfides catalyzed by rhodium(II) were investigated. The utilization of pyridotriazoles as the carbene precursors in this kind of reaction efficiently constructed the C(sp3)-S and C(sp3)-Se bond with broad substrate scope and great functional group tolerance.

Abstract Poor sleep health is associated with a wide array of increased risk for cardiovascular, metabolic and mental health problems as well as all-cause mortality in observational studies, suggesting potential links between sleep health and lifespan. However, it has yet to be determined whether sleep health is genetically or/and causally associated with lifespan. In this study, we firstly studied the genome-wide genetic association between four sleep behaviors (short sleep duration, long sleep duration, insomnia, and sleep chronotype) and lifespan using GWAS summary statistics, and both sleep duration time and insomnia were negatively correlated with lifespan. Then, two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) and multivariable MR analyses were applied to explore the causal effects between sleep behaviors and lifespan. We found that genetically predicted short sleep duration was causally and negatively associated with lifespan in univariable and multivariable MR analyses, and this effect was partially mediated by coronary artery disease (CAD), type 2 diabetes (T2D) and depression. In contrast, we found that insomnia had no causal effects on lifespan. Our results further confirmed the negative effects of short sleep duration on lifespan and suggested that extension of sleep may benefit the physical health of individuals with sleep loss. Further attention should be given to such public health issues.

ABSTRACTAddressing accuracy and computational complexity challenges in hyperspectral image classification for small sample and multi-species scenarios, we developed DSC-DC, a lightweight convolutional neural network. This model is based on Depthwise Separable Convolution and Dilated Convolution and was trained using the Teakettle Experimental Forest dataset (USA). In this study, DSC-DC achieved an overall accuracy (OA) of 99.83%, average accuracy (AA) of 99.64%, and Kappa coefficient of 0.9996. Compared to Support Vector Machine and K-Nearest Neighbors, it demonstrated markedly higher OA (3.88% to 7.55%) and AA (30.71% to 34.09%). Compared to Inception-V3, ResNet50, and MSR-3DCNN, DSC-DC marginally outperformed in accuracy (OA: 0.06% to 0.31%; AA: 0.32% to 3.64%) while reducing the training time by 3.5, 5, and 35 times, and the prediction time by 2, 3, and 17 times, respectively. Moreover, DSC-DC exhibits slightly superior accuracy and efficiency compared to a 5-layer optimal structure of the 3D-CNN model. The application of the DSC-DC model to the hyperspectral dataset from the Jiepai branch of the Gaofeng State Owned Forest Farm in the Guangxi province, China, further demonstrated the reliability, versatility, and practical potential of this model. This study provides a reliable and efficient reference solution for small-sample and multi-tree classification tasks.

It is crucial to develop a comprehensive method for estimating the aboveground biomass (AGB) of trees, shrubs, grasslands, and sparse tree areas in ecologically fragile dry, hot valley regions with vertical zonation. Multi-source remote-sensing data can fulfill this requirement, providing help in monitoring the health of ecosystems and providing a basis for regional biodiversity conservation and restoration. Sentinel-2A satellite imagery was used to classify the forests, shrubs, and grasslands in Yuanmou County, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. The Gaofen-2 satellite (GF-2) was used to extract the canopy width and calculate tree biomass in the valley-type savanna region. These data were combined with remote-sensing factors and measured survey data, and random forest (RF) and extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) models were used to estimate the biomass. Using GF-2 images to segment sparse tree areas effectively reduced the overestimation of low-resolution remote-sensing images, enabling the AGB of sparse trees to be accurately estimated. The biomass estimations based on the Sentinel-2A images attained coefficient of determination (R2) values of 0.45 and 0.47 for the forest, 0.55 and 0.61 for the shrubs, and 0.32 and 0.37 for the grasslands using RF and XGBoost models, respectively, demonstrating variable effectiveness across vegetation types. In addition, the XGBoost model was more robust than the RF model for all three vegetation types. Our methodology provides scientific support for the sustainable development of ecologically fragile dry, hot valleys and savanna areas.

Rainfall data with high spatial and temporal resolutions are essential for urban hydrological modeling. Ubiquitous surveillance cameras can continuously record rainfall events through video and audio, so they have been recognized as potential rain gauges to supplement professional rainfall observation networks. Since video-based rainfall estimation methods can be affected by variable backgrounds and lighting conditions, audio-based approaches could be a supplement without suffering from these conditions. However, most audio-based approaches focus on rainfall-level classification rather than rainfall intensity estimation. Here, we introduce a dataset named Surveillance Audio Rainfall Intensity Dataset (SARID) and a deep learning model for estimating rainfall intensity. First, we created the dataset through audio of six real-world rainfall events. This dataset's audio recordings are segmented into 12,066 pieces and annotated with rainfall intensity and environmental information, such as underlying surfaces, temperature, humidity, and wind. Then, we developed a deep learning-based baseline using Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) and Transformer architecture to estimate rainfall intensity from surveillance audio. Validated from ground truth data, our baseline achieves a root mean absolute error of 0.88 mm h-1 and a coefficient of correlation of 0.765. Our findings demonstrate the potential of surveillance audio-based models as practical and effective tools for rainfall observation systems, initiating a new chapter in rainfall intensity estimation. It offers a novel data source for high-resolution hydrological sensing and contributes to the broader landscape of urban sensing, emergency response, and resilience.

Abstract Intraperitoneal dissemination is the main method of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) metastasis, which is related to poor prognosis and a high recurrence rate. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a novel class of endogenous RNAs with covalently closed loop structures that are implicated in the regulation of tumor development. In this study, hsa_circ_0001546 is downregulated in EOC primary and metastatic tissues vs. control tissues and this phenotype has a favorable effect on EOC OS and DFS. hsa_circ_0001546 can directly bind with 14‐3‐3 proteins to act as a chaperone molecule and has a limited positive effect on 14‐3‐3 protein stability. This complex recruits CAMK2D to induce the Ser324 phosphorylation of Tau proteins, changing the phosphorylation status of Tau bound to 14‐3‐3 and ultimately forming the hsa_circ_0001546/14‐3‐3/CAMK2D/Tau complex. The existence of this complex stimulates the production of Tau aggregation, which then induces the accumulation of lipid peroxides (LPOs) and causes LPO‐dependent ferroptosis. In vivo, treatment with ferrostatin‐1 and TRx0237 rescued the inhibitory effect of hsa_circ_0001546 on EOC cell spreading. Therefore, based on this results, ferroptosis caused by Tau aggregation occurs in EOC cells, which is not only in Alzheimer's disease‐ or Parkinson's disease‐related cells and this kind of ferroptosis driven by the hsa_circ_0001546/14‐3‐3/CAMK2D/Tau complex is LPO‐dependent rather than GPX4‐dependent is hypothesized.

Objective: To analyse and continually improve existing issues in the quality improvement process of medical linear accelerators (LINACs) and enhance the quality control management of LINACs. Methods: Data were collected from eight LINACs (sourced from three manufacturers) at Zhejiang Cancer Hospital using Excel diaries between January 2019 and December 2020. The data description and analysis were performed using the analytic hierarchy process, SPSSAU and Excel software, and mean-time-to-repair (MTTR)/mean-time-between-failure (MTBF) metrics. Continuous quality improvement was executed using the quality control circle (QCC) quality management method. Results: After quality improvement, the risk frequency of ‘LINAC down’ events decreased by 43.63% and downtime was reduced by 40.45%. The weight of downtime risk improved by 73.69%. The MTTR recovery value increased by 31.90%, and MTBF reliability increased by 2.97 h. The simulation results demonstrated that the proposed quality improvement measures could effectively decrease the frequency and duration of downtimes, consequently extending the normal operational time of LINACs. Conclusion: Transitioning from instant repair to preventative maintenance can enhance the operational efficiency of equipment and yield economic benefits for hospitals. The QCC method and the event risk evaluation model are effective in reducing the downtime of LINACs and improving their quality control management.

Background: Cervical cancer remains the fourth most common female malignancy with increasing newly cases around the world. It is of clinical value to precisely evaluate whether false negative nodal existed and develop a nodal staging model in cervical cancer. Materials and methods: Clinical data of cervical cancer patients was retrieved from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. Probability of missing nodal disease and nodal staging score (NSS) was computed to assess the nodal status of each individual.Prognostic value of NSS was assessed. Results: A total of 9056 individuals were in this study, with 5115 squamous cell carcinoma, 2791 adenocarcinoma, 512 adenosquamous carcinoma, and 638 other type individuals. A beta-binomial model was used to compute the probability of nodal disease in four histological types, respectively. False negative probability drastically decreased as more nodes examined. To reach 0.05 of false negative probability, it required at least 17 lymph nodes in squamous cell carcinoma patients,18 in adenocarcinoma, 12 in adenosquamous carcinoma patients and 14 in other types. To reach 0.95 of NSS, it took 10 lymph nodes in squamous cell carcinoma, 6 in adenocarcinoma, 10 in adenosquamous carcinoma and 7 in other types. Significant prognostic values of NSS quartiles subsets were found in all four histological sets. Conclusion: NSS tool enables adequate nodal staging of cervical cancer with significant prognostic value. Exact number of lymph nodes required for surgery in cervical cancer is specified based on histologic type.

Background: This study aimed to construct a nomogram based on CAF features to predict the cancer-specific survival (CSS) rates of locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) patients. Methods: The EPIC algorithm was employed to calculate the proportion of CAFs. based on the differentially expressed genes between the high and low CAF proportion subgroups, prognostic genes were identified via LASSO and Cox regression analyses. They were then used to construct a prognostic risk signature. Moreover, the GSE39582 and GGSE38832 datasets were used for external validation. Lastly, the level of immune infiltration was evaluated using ssGSEA, ESTIMATE, CIBERSORTx, and TIMER. Results: A higher level of CAF infiltration was associated with a worse prognosis. Additionally, the number of metastasized lymph nodes and distant metastases, as well as the level of immune infiltration were higher in the high CAF proportion subgroup. Five prognostic genes (SMOC2, TUBAL3, C2CD4A, MAP1B, BMP8A) were identified and subsequently incorporated into the prognostic risk signature to predict the 1-, 3-, and 5-year CSS rates in the training and validation sets. Differences in survival rates were also determined in the external validation cohort. Furthermore, independent prognostic factors, including TNM stage and risk score, were combined to established a nomogram. Notably, our results revealed that the proportions of macrophages and neutrophils and the levels of cytokines secreted by M2 macrophages were higher in the high-risk subgroup. Finally, the prognostic genes were significantly associated with the level of immune cell infiltration. Conclusion: Herein, a nomogram based on CAF features was developed to predict the CSS rate of LARC patients. The risk model was capable of reflecting differences in the level of immune cell infiltration.

An emerging type-II Dirac semimetal PtTe2 exhibits a large potential for spintronic devices due to the high conductivity, high mobility, and good air stability. However, there are few reports on the terahertz emission phenomena in PtTe2 films, which may prohibit the practical application in the future. Here, we successfully prepared high quality two-dimensional (2D) materials PtTe2 and combined it with ferromagnet Fe into heterostructure. Then the spintronic terahertz (THz) emission characteristics of PtTe2/Fe heterostructure excited by ultrafast femtosecond laser were investigated. Our work provides a novel material strategy for spintronic devices, paving the way for researching next-generation optospintronic devices.

As China steadily advances its maritime power and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" initiatives, fostering and enhancing maritime awareness among contemporary college students has become a crucial task in higher education, with significant real-world implications. The development of maritime power requires talent, which in turn necessitates innovation and growth in maritime higher education. Given the current international strategic context, there is an urgent need to elevate maritime awareness among college students. Domestic universities serve as the primary platforms for cultivating this awareness, with faculty members as the key implementers. Based on an analysis of the current state of maritime awareness among Chinese college students and the progress in building maritime power, this paper recommended increasing government attention and support, leveraging the guiding role of university faculty and ideological and political course construction, substantially investing in both soft and hard maritime educational infrastructure at universities. This will create a strong impetus for accelerating the development of maritime power, enhance its "soft power", and lay a solid foundation for the rapid achievement of the nation's maritime strategic objectives.

Abstract The growth of marine resources exploitation has led to increased research interest in electro‐hydraulic systems for marine simulation. This study proposes a proportional plus resonant (PR) controller to achieve high tracking performance for electro‐hydraulic systems. Due to the complex structure and non‐linear flow dynamics, establishing accurate mathematical models of electro‐hydraulic systems is challenging. The local linearization technique is applied to simplify the process of model establishment. The system gain is limited by the stability margin due to the input delay, resulting in a phase delay between the real trajectory and the desired reference. To compensate for the phase delay in tracking periodic reference with the traditional proportional and integral controller, a resonant item is added into the controller. The stability analysis of the closed‐loop system is performed using Routh‐Hurwitz criterion. Furthermore, the controller parameters are tuned based on the frequency characteristic to achieve high tracking performance and maintain the adequate stability margin. The effectiveness of the proposed PR controller in tracking periodic references is validated through numerical simulations and practical experiments.

Abstract We present a machine vision-based database named GrainSet for the purpose of visual quality inspection of grain kernels. The database contains more than 350K single-kernel images with experts’ annotations. The grain kernels used in the study consist of four types of cereal grains including wheat, maize, sorghum and rice, and were collected from over 20 regions in 5 countries. The surface information of each kernel is captured by our custom-built device equipped with high-resolution optic sensor units, and corresponding sampling information and annotations include collection location and time, morphology, physical size, weight, and Damage & Unsound grain categories provided by senior inspectors. In addition, we employed a commonly used deep learning model to provide classification results as a benchmark. We believe that our GrainSet will facilitate future research in fields such as assisting inspectors in grain quality inspections, providing guidance for grain storage and trade, and contributing to applications of smart agriculture.

Abstract Background Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is one of the main causes of liver cancer and imposes an enormous social and economic burden. The blood-borne virus screening policy for preventing iatrogenic infections renders hospitals important for identifying individuals infected with hepatitis C. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the establishment of a multi-disciplinary cooperation model in medical institutions to leverage the screening results of patients with hepatitis C. Our objective is to ensure that patients receive timely and effective diagnosis and treatment, thereby enabling the elimination of hepatitis C by 2030. Method A multi-disciplinary cooperation model was established in October 2021. This retrospective study was based on the establishment of antibody-positive and HCV RNA-positive patient databases. A Chi-square test was used to compare the HCV RNA confirmation rate in anti-HCV-positive patients, as well as the hepatitis C diagnosis rate and treatment rate in RNA-positive patients before and after the multi-disciplinary cooperation. A multivariable logistic regression was used to analyse the factors affecting the treatment of patients with hepatitis C. In addition, we examined changes in the level of hepatitis C knowledge among medical staff. Results After the implementation of the multi-disciplinary cooperation model, the RNA confirmation rate of hepatitis C antibody-positive patients increased from 36.426% to 88.737%, the diagnostic accuracy rate of RNA-positive patients increased from 67.456% to 98.113%, and the treatment rate of patients with hepatitis C increased from 12.426% to 58.491%. Significant improvements were observed among the clinicians regarding their ability to understand the characteristics of hepatitis C (93.711% vs. 58.861%), identify people at high risk (94.340% vs. 53.797%), manage patients with hepatitis C after diagnosis (88.679% vs. 67.089%), and effectively treat hepatitis C (84.277% vs. 51.899%). Multi-disciplinary cooperation in medical institutions was the most important factor for patients to undergo HCV treatment (odds ratio: 0.024, 95% confidence interval: 0.007–0.074). Conclusions This study showed that the use of a multi-disciplinary cooperation model to utilise the results of HCV antibody screening fully in patients through further tracking, referral, and treatment may facilitate the detection and treatment of patients with hepatitis C and accelerate the elimination of HCV in China.

To investigate the synergistic effect of Rosa roxbunghii Tratt. polysaccharide（RRTP）and Rosa roxbunghii Tratt. insoluble dietary fiber（RTIDF）on hypoglycemic function. In this study, RRTP and RTIDF were extracted, isolated and purified, the antioxidant and hypoglycemic activities of polysaccharides were measured by in vitro experiment and the relationship between hypoglycemic function and intestinal microbial community structure in mice was analyzed in vivo intervention experiment of Type Ⅱ diabetes in mice. The results were as follows: (1) RRTP had a good free radical scavenging ability in vitro, and could significantly inhibit α-glucosidase and α-amylase activities with IC50 values of 0.293 and 4.251 mg·mL-1, respectively. RTIDF only showed certain inhibitory activity on α-amylase activity. (2) After the intervention of the extracts in the model mice, the tendency of the obese mice to continue to lose weight was reversed. Compared with CK group (physiological saline), the blood glucose level of RTIDF and RRTP+RTIDF mice were significantly down-regulated, and the activity of CAT enzyme in serum was significantly enhanced. RRTP+RTIDF group was superior to RTIDF group. (3) The extract intervention could reduce the inflammatory factors in the liver, relieve the degree of cell swelling, increase the number of absorbing cells in the cecum, and restore the intestinal wall mucosal layer. (4) Further analysis of intestinal microbial community showed that RTIDF+RRTP could reduce the proportion of Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes, increase the abundance of beneficial bacteria such as Acetobacter, but RTIDF had more significant regulation effect on the population. Therefore, based on in vitro hypoglycemic simulation and in vivo intervention results, RRTP and RTIDF have a certain synergistic effect on glucose intervention in diabetic mice, it may be used together as an intervention to improve Type Ⅱ diabetes.

Abstract Background Children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) experience multiple symptoms that occur in complicated patterns and negatively affect patient outcomes. To date, no systematic review has been performed on the prevalence of symptoms in children with ALL. Objective The study aimed to report and analyse the prevalence of symptoms in children with ALL during treatment. Methods A systematic search was conducted in eight databases (PubMed, Ovid Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL, PsycINFO, China WanFang Database, China Science and Technology Journal Database, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure) for studies published between January 1, 2000, and August 12, 2023. The methodological quality of the included studies was evaluated and a meta-analysis was performed to pool the prevalence of symptoms. Results In total, 17 studies were included, from which 34 symptoms were identified. The symptom prevalence ranged between 1.5 and 91.0% and the most frequent symptoms observed were fatigue, lack of energy, dry mouth, lack of appetite, sweating, and feeling irritable, which occurred in at least 60% of the patients. Conclusions Symptoms remain highly prevalent in paediatric patients with ALL, which provides support for the need for symptom assessment in the clinical setting. Specific intervention is urgently needed to mitigate the symptoms in children with ALL and help them cope with the symptom burden.

In order to improve the performance of UAV’s autonomous maneuvering decision-making, this paper proposes a decision-making method based on situational continuity. The algorithm in this paper designs a situation evaluation function with strong guidance, then trains the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) under the framework of Deep Q Network (DQN) for air combat maneuvering decision-making. Considering the continuity between adjacent situations, the method takes multiple consecutive situations as one input of the neural network. To reflect the difference between adjacent situations, the method takes the difference of situation evaluation value as the reward of reinforcement learning. In different scenarios, the algorithm proposed in this paper is compared with the algorithm based on the Fully Neural Network (FNN) and the algorithm based on statistical principles respectively. The results show that, compared with the FNN algorithm, the algorithm proposed in this paper is more accurate and forward-looking. Compared with the algorithm based on the statistical principles, the decision-making of the algorithm proposed in this paper is more efficient and its real-time performance is better.

Abstract Mycobacterium phlei is a gram‐positive acid‐fast mycobacterium from the family Mycobacteriaceae. It is a valuable resource for both natural drugs and microecological preparations. It has been widely used in the field of human medicine; however, in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, the research and application of M. phlei is still in the preliminary exploration stage. This study aims to summarize the research progress of M. phlei in the field of veterinary medicine and provide a valuable reference for future research. Key words, such as ‘M. phlei’, ‘veterinary field’, ‘immune balancer’, ‘genome’ and other relevant words to this study, were used to search through PubMed, Web of Science, SciELO, Science Direct and Google Scholar databases. The results showed that the culture conditions of M. phlei were relatively simple, but its bacterial composition and genome sequence were relatively complex, and various components in the cell wall may have immunoregulatory effects. Therefore, the inactivated preparation made from M. phlei can have various applications in the veterinary field, such as growth regulation, immune regulation, antitumour, anti‐parasite and asthma treatment. The literature review indicates that M. phlei preparation is an efficient and convenient immune system balance agent. Despite the challenges associated with the use of M. phlei preparations, it has a strong potential for application in veterinary medicine.

Cadmium (Cd) contamination in agricultural soils has emerged as a significant concern, particularly due to its potential impact on plant-based food. Soil pH reductions can exacerbate Cd mobility, leading to excessive accumulation in crops. While liming has been demonstrated as an effective method to mitigate Cd accumulation in rice grains in acid soils of southern China, its efficacy in remediating acid soils in northern China remains unclear. In this study, a multi-year field experiment was conducted on farmland impacted by zinc ore smelting at coordinates of 33.92° N 112.46° E to investigate the use of limestone for controlling Cd accumulation in wheat and maize grains. The results indicated that applying 7.5 t ha−1 of limestone significantly raised the soil pH from 4.5 to 6.8 as anticipated. Different rates of limestone application (2.25, 4.45, and 7.50 t ha−1) reduced Cd bioavailability in the soil by 20–54%, and Cd accumulation in wheat grains by 5–38% and maize grains by 21–63%, without yield penalty. The remediation effects were sustained for at least 27 months, highlighting limestone as a promising ameliorant for smelting-affected farmland in northern China.

Soil and water conservation measures have good carbon sinking capacity, and the comprehensive management of small watersheds involves plant measures, engineering measures and farming measures, which profoundly affect the capacity of the three major carbon pools of soil, vegetation and water bodies, making them an ideal place to carry out the monitoring and accounting of carbon sinks in soil and water conservation. The purpose of this paper is to monitor and evaluate the carbon sinks of soil and vegetation, to provide techniques and methods for the implementation of dynamic monitoring and evaluation of carbon sinks in soil and water conservation projects, and to provide theoretical and methodological support for the participation of soil and water conservation projects in carbon trading and the study of the formulation of relevant rules. In this study, field sampling and analysis, LiDAR, remote sensing and other related parameters were used to account for the carbon storage of vegetation carbon pools and soil carbon pools in the Luodi River sub-watershed, Changting County, Fujian Province, from 2001 to 2022, and to evaluate the carbon sink capacity of the various soil and water conservation management measures in the sub-watershed. The results show that after 21 years of comprehensive management, various soil and water conservation measures in the Luodi River sub-basin have significantly enhanced the role and capacity of carbon sinks, and the sub-basin’s carbon stock increased by 3.97 × 104 t, with an average annual increase of 1.89 × 103 t/a. From the perspective of the carbon pools, the carbon stocks of soil and vegetation increased by 73.73% and 346.41%, respectively, from 2001 to 2022. The total carbon sunk in the sub-watershed reached 2.90 × 104 t, of which 1.57 × 104 t was in soil carbon sinks and 1.34 × 104 t was in vegetation carbon sinks. There were differences in the ability of various measures to enhance the increment of the carbon sink, among which the Castanea mollissima and the Fertilized Pinus massoniana Forest had the most obvious increase in carbon sunk, followed by the Mixed Needleleaf and Broadleaf Forest, the Nurture and Management Pinus massoniana Forest, and the Horizontal terraces Pinus massoniana Forest, and lastly, the Closed Management Forest and the Morella rubra. Various soil and water conservation measures have obvious effects of carbon retention, carbon sequestration and sink enhancement, while Castanea mollissima and Fertilized Pinus massoniana Forest and other forests that implement land preparation and afforestation with fertilization and nourishment measures have more significant increases in carbon sink capacity, which is an effective measure to improve the benefits of soil and water conservation and increase the amount of carbon sinks.

In this paper, a LabVIEW-based online monitoring and safety evaluation system for UAVs is designed to address the deficiencies in UAV flight state parameter monitoring and safety evaluation. The system consists of a lower unit for UAV recording and an upper unit on the ground. The lower unit collects and detects flight data and connects to the upper unit through a wireless digital transmission module via a serial port. The upper unit receives the data and carries out the monitoring and safety situation evaluation of the UAV. The lower unit of the system adopts multi-sensors to collect UAV navigation information in real time to achieve flight detection, while the upper unit adopts LabVIEW to design the UAV online monitoring and safety situation prediction system, enabling monitoring and safety situation prediction during UAV navigation. The test results show that the system can detect and comprehensively display the navigation information of the UAV in real time, and realize the safety evaluation and warning function of the UAV.

Synchronization of action potentials is one of the important phenomena for neural networks to achieve biological functions. How to find the optimal parameter space of neural networks in a synchronized state is of great significance for studying their synchronization. This study explores the parameter space of triplet motif-based higher-order networks in a synchronized state through the dynamic learning of synchronization (DLS) technique, which dynamically modulates the connection weights between motifs to alter their firing patterns. Our study delves into regular, Erdós-Rënyi random graphs, small-world, and scale-free networks, emphasizing the high-order motif interactions that characterize these networks. Our key findings indicate that the DLS technique successfully promotes synchronization within high-order motif networks with various connection patterns, although the degree of synchronization in networks where motifs are interconnected by chemical synapses is slightly weaker than those interconnected by electrical synapses. Additionally, we demonstrate the pattern of weight changes during the regulation of network firing states by DLS, finding that the evolution of weight distributions correlates with the network's topological structure. This work might provide new insights into complex network synchronization and lays the foundation for further exploration of using DLS technology to synchronize higher-order networks through external factors.

Replacing traditional fuels with carbon free fuel ammonia is one of the important ways to achieve low carbon emissions. However, the problem of high concentration NOx formation in the process of ammonia combustion is still a topic of great concern. In this paper, the combustion experimental system was built to study the NOx generation characteristics of ammonia propane combustion for a swirl burner. The experimental results show that the addition of ammonia into propane flame greatly increases the amount of NOx, and reasonable organization of ammonia doping ratio and primary air ratio can effectively control the generation of NOx. When the ammonia doping ratio is less than 15%, the highest NOx appeared with the primary air ratio of 20%. When the ammonia ratio was greater than 15%, the increase of the primary air ratio had no obvious effect on the formation of NOx near the swirl burner. The flame temperature changes with the ammonia doping ratio, and when the ammonia doping ratio is 15%, the furnace gas temperature is the highest at each point along the furnace height.

A simpler, unbiased, and comprehensive random forest (RF) model is needed to improve the accuracy of aboveground biomass (AGB) estimation. In this study, data were obtained from 128 sample plots of Pinus yunnanensis forest located in Chuxiong prefecture, Yunnan province, China. Sentinel-2 imagery data were applied to extract the important predictors of forest AGB, which were screened using the Boruta algorithm. We compared the fitting performance of two modified random forest models − regularized random forest (RRF) and quantile random forest (QRF) − with the random forest model. Moreover, we combined the smallest mean error of each quantile model as the best QRF (QRFb). The result showed: (1) Window sizes of 3 × 3 pixels and 5 × 5 pixels demonstrated greater sensitivity and suitability for estimating AGB than the 7 × 7 pixels window size. Enhanced vegetation indices derived from Red Edge 1 (B5) and Near-Infrared bands (B8A) were strongly correlated with AGB, indicating the heightened sensitivity of B5 and B8A bands to biomass and their potential in AGB estimation. (2) The RRF model outperformed both the standard RF and QRF in fitting performance, with an R2 of 0.56 and RMSE 57.14 Mg/ha. (3) The QRFb model exhibited the highest R2 of 0.88 and lowest RMSE of 29.56 Mg/ha, significantly reducing overestimation and underestimation issues. The modified RF regression supplies new insights into improving forest AGB estimation, which will be helpful for future research addressing carbon cycling.

The trees in a given stand compete with each other for light, water and nutrients, producing spatial effects. To understand spatial effects, it is critical to characterise the spatial distributions and patterns of the aboveground biomass (AGB) of individual trees and the biomass of their components (stem, bark, branches and foliage). This study investigated the spatial effects by examining the AGB of individual trees and the biomass of their components in the context of typical sub-tropical tree species in Yunnan, China, including a Pinus kesiya var. langbianensis natural forest (PN), a Pinus kesiya var. langbianensis plantation (PP), and a Eucalyptus spp. plantation (EP), using datasets for three clear-cutting plots. Ripley’s L function was employed to identify the spatial distributions and patterns of the AGB of individual trees and the biomass of their components. Then, Global and Local Moran’s I indices were utilised to analyse spatial autocorrelation, with Intra-group variance being calculated to quantify spatial heterogeneity. This led to following findings. Firstly, with increasing distance, the spatial heterogeneity of the three stands increased before stabilising at a distance of 10 m. Secondly, excluding bark, all components of the tree biomass in the PN stand exhibited significant dispersion. In contrast, all the components in the PP stand showed significant dispersion. The spatial distributions and patterns of trees and their biomass in the EP stand indicated the coexistence of clustering and dispersion. Moreover, the significant spatial autocorrelations of tree AGB and components biomass could be noticed but depending on the stands, components and distances. These findings provide theoretical support for sustainable forest management based on biomass and carbon stocks.

Coupled nuclear and electronic dynamics within a molecule are key to understanding a broad range of fundamental physical and chemical processes. Although probing the coupled vibrational and electronic dynamics was demonstrated, it has so far been challenging to observe the coupling interactions between the rotational and electronic degrees of freedom. Here, we report the first observation of Coriolis coupling, a coupling interaction between nuclear rotational angular momentum and electronic axial angular momentum, during laser-induced molecular fragmentation by tracing the electronic structure of a dissociating [Formula: see text] molecule. We observe that the electron density changes its shape from that of a molecular σ orbital to a nearly isotropic shape as the internuclear distance goes up to ∼20 Å, which results from the transition between nearly degenerate electronic states associated with different rotational angular momenta. Our experiment demonstrates that the breaking of a chemical bond does not occur suddenly during molecular dissociation. Instead, it lasts for a long time of several hundred femtoseconds due to the Coriolis coupling interaction. Our experiment can be extended to complicated molecules, holding the potential of revealing yet unobserved electron–nuclear coupling interactions during ultrafast processes.

The potential energy curves (PECs) and transition dipole moments (TDMs) of PH+ and PO are computed with the multireference configuration interaction method, and the cross-sections for the radiative association (RA) of PH+ and PO, which is the most efficient way to form the ground states, are presented via the quantum mechanical (QM) theory and computed using ab initio molecular data. The thermal rate coefficients are also expressed and fitted with the standard formula kT=AT300αe−βT in the range of 10 K–15,000 K. Meanwhile, the photodissociation, that is the inverse process of RA for PH+, is also studied, including eight photodissociation channels for the computation of state-resolved cross-sections. Careful comparisons with the Leiden Observatory database are made. Considering the cross-sections mentioned above, the local thermodynamic equilibrium cross-sections at the temperatures of 0, 500, 1,000, and 2,000 K are also shown. We expect the results to be helpful for studies of phosphorus chemistry in the interstellar medium and planetary atmospheres.

[Objective] The height of metro tunnel catenary is a crucial parameter for ensuring normal train electrification and requires regular inspection. In response to the significant errors and low precision associated with other height detection methods, a new method for detecting the metro tunnel catenary height based on mobile 3D laser scanning technology is proposed. [Method] Based on the above new method, the error sources are analyzed. The method of adding a rigid tilting component on the mobile 3D laser scanner is suggested to modify the incidence angle of the laser, thereby reducing the number of spikes in the point cloud model of the tunnel profile. Additionally, the use of isometric Lambert projection is recommended to obtain an accurate point cloud model of the tunnel. A comparison is conducted with the height gauge detection results to verify whether the accuracy of the height detection meets the relevant requirements. [Result & Conclusion] The presence of spikes in the tunnel profile point cloud model built on mobile 3D laser scanning technology is caused by the scattering and diffuse reflection of the catenary due to laser foot point vertical incidence. The addition of the tilting component effectively reduces the number of spikes in the tunnel profile point cloud model. A comparison of the height detection data between the mobile 3D laser scanner and height gauge indicates that the accuracy of the height detection based on mobile 3D laser scanning technology is generally within ±3 mm, thus meeting the precision requirements stipulated by the relevant regulations.

Abstract Background Woolly rhinoceros (Coelodonta antiquitatis) is a typical indicator of cold-stage climate that was widely distributed in Northern Hemisphere during the Middle-Late Pleistocene. Although a plethora of fossils have been excavated from Northern China, their phylogenetic status, intraspecific diversity and phylogeographical structure are still vague. Results In the present study, we generated four mitogenomes from Late Pleistocene woolly rhinoceros in Northern China and compared them with published data. Bayesian and network analyses indicate that the analyzed individuals contain at least four maternal haplogroups, and Chinese samples fall in three of them. One of our samples belongs to a previously unidentified early diverging clade (haplogroup D), which separated from other woolly rhinoceros around 0.57 Ma (95% CI: 0.76–0.41 Ma). The timing of this clade’s origin coincides with the first occurrence of woolly rhinoceros, which are thought to have evolved in Europe. Our other three samples cluster in haplogroup C, previously only identified from one specimen from Wrangel Island (ND030) and initially considered to be an isolated clade. Herein, our findings suggest that ND030 is likely descended from a northward dispersal of the individuals carrying haplogroup C from Northern China. Additionally, Chinese woolly rhinoceros specimens exhibit higher nucleotide diversity than those from Siberia. Conclusion Our findings highlight Northern China as a possible refugium and a key evolution center of the Pleistocene woolly rhinoceros.

Three-dimensional excitation–emission matrix fluorescence spectroscopy coupled with parallel factor analysis was adopted to investigate the characteristics of dissolved organic matter (DOM) components in water samples collected from the Tuojiang River Basin in Chengdu, including its main stream and tributaries. Four DOM components that matched with three fluorescence peaks were identified in the whole river basin and tributaries; while three components corresponding to four fluorescence peaks were identified in the main stream. In all cases, humic-like components accounted for high proportions of the DOM. Correlation analysis revealed the same sources for four components in the whole river basin and its tributaries, whereas two components had different sources in the main stream. Ultraviolet absorbance parameters (SUVA254, SR) and fluorescence parameters (BIX, HIX, FI, β:α) indicated the dominant autochthonous sources of DOM in the whole river basin. Higher terrestrial inputs of DOM were observed in the tributaries than in the main stream. In the areas influenced by human activities (6#, 17#, 18#), the sources of DOM showed strong terrestrial characteristics and high degrees of humification and aromatization, as well as serious pollution. The results of this study have potentially far-reaching implications for environmental water management in the area. HIGHLIGHTS DOM of water body can be analyzed by EEMs–PARAFAC analysis.; The areas with industrial and agricultural emission sources and those affected by human activities have higher degrees of humification and aromatization and are seriously polluted.; DOM sources in the Tuojiang River Basin in Chengdu were mainly internal, and the terrigenous input of DOM in tributaries was significantly higher than that in the main stream.;

Abstract Real-time imaging of transient structure of the electronic excited state is fundamentally critical to understand and control ultrafast molecular dynamics. The ejection of electrons from the inner-shell and valence level can lead to the population of different excited states, which trigger manifold ultrafast relaxation processes, however, the accurate imaging of such electronic state-dependent structural evolutions is still lacking. Here, by developing the laser-induced electron recollision-assisted Coulomb explosion imaging approach and molecular dynamics simulations, snapshots of the vibrational wave-packets of the excited (A) and ground states (X) of D2O+ are captured simultaneously with sub-10 picometre and few-femtosecond precision. We visualise that θ DOD and ROD are significantly increased by around 50∘ and 10 pm, respectively, within approximately 8 fs after initial ionisation for the A state, and the ROD further extends 9 pm within 2 fs along the ground state of the dication in the present condition. Moreover, the ROD can stretch more than 50 pm within 5 fs along autoionisation state of dication. The accuracies of the results are limited by the simulations. These results provide comprehensive structural information for studying the fascinating molecular dynamics of water, and pave the way towards to make a movie of excited state-resolved ultrafast molecular dynamics and light-induced chemical reaction.

Abstract Human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) is the primary epidemic strain in China. Its genome contains two regulatory genes (tat and rev), three structural genes (gag, pol, and env), and four accessory genes (nef, vpr, vpu, and vif). Long terminal repeats (LTRs) in thegenome regulate integration, duplication, and expression of viral gene. The permissibility of HIV-1 infection hinges on the host cell cycle status. HIV-1 replicates by exploiting various cellular processes via upregulation or downregulation of specific cellular proteins that also control viral pathogenesis. For example, HIV-1 regulates the life cycle of p53, which in turn contributes significantly to HIV-1 pathogenesis. In this article, we review the interaction between HIV-1-associated factors and p53, providing information on their regulatory and molecular mechanisms, hinting possible directions for further research.
