Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a refractory disease characterized by elevated pulmonary artery pressure and resistance. Drag-reducing polymers (DRPs) are blood-soluble macromolecules that reduce vascular resistance by altering the blood dynamics and rheology. Our previous work indicated that polyethylene oxide (PEO) can significantly reduce the medial wall thickness and vascular resistance of the pulmonary arteries, but the specific mechanism is still unclear.This study was designed to investigate the role and mechanism of PEO on intracellular calcium [Ca2 +] i and cytoskeletal proteins of endothelial cells (ECs) induced by low shear stress (LSS) in PH. Primary Pulmonary Artery Endothelial Cells (PAECs) were subjected to steady LSS (1 dyn/cm2) or physiological shear stress (SS) (10 dyn/cm2) for 20 h in a BioFlux 200 flow system. Calcium influx assays were conducted to evaluate the mechanisms of PEO on [Ca2 +] i. Subsequently, taking the key protein that induces cytoskeletal remodeling, the regulatory light chain (RLC) phosphorylation, as the breakthrough point, this study focused on the two key pathways of PEO that regulate phosphorylation of RLC: Myosin light chain kinase (MLCK) and Rho-associated kinase (ROCK) pathways.Our current research revealed that PEO at LSS (1 dyn/cm2) significantly suppressed LSS-induced [Ca2 +] i and the expression level of transient receptor potential channel 1(TRPC1). In addition, ECs convert LSS stimuli into the upregulation of cytoskeletal proteins, including filamentous actin (F-actin), MLCK, ROCK, p-RLC, and pp-RLC. Further experiments using pharmacological inhibitors demonstrated that PEO at the LSS downregulated cytoskeleton-related proteins mainly through the ROCK and MLCK pathways.This study considered intracellular calcium and cytoskeleton rearrangement as entry points to study the application of PEO in the biomedical field, which has important theoretical significance and practical application value for the treatment of PH. Purpose: Waiting time, as an important predictor of queue abandonment and patient satisfaction, is important for resource utilization and patient experience management. Medical institutions have given top priority to reforming the appointment system for many years; however, whether the increased information transparency brought about by the appointment scheduling mechanism could improve patient waiting time is not well understood. In this study, the authors examine the effects of information transparency in reducing patient waiting time from an uncertainty perspective. Design/methodology/approach: Leveraging a quasi-natural experiment in a tertiary academic hospital, the authors analyze over one million observational patient visit records and design the propensity score matching plus the difference in difference (PSM-DID) model and hierarchical linear modeling (HLM) to address this issue. Findings: The authors confirm that, on average, improved information transparency significantly reduces the waiting time for patients by approximately 6.43 min, a 4.90% reduction. The authors identify three types of uncertainties (resource, process and outcome uncertainty) in the patient visit process that affect patients' waiting time. Moreover, information transparency moderates the relationship between three sources of uncertainties and waiting time. Originality/value: The authors' work not only provides important theoretical explanations for the patient-level factors of in-clinic waiting time and the reasons for information technology (IT)-enabled appointment scheduling by time slot (ITASS) to shorten patient waiting time and improve patient experience but also provides potential solutions for further exploration of measures to reduce patient waiting time. Aim Methods Results Conclusion Saliva can reflect an individual's physiological status or susceptibility to systemic disease. However, little attention has been given to salivary analysis in children with idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (INS). We aimed to perform a comprehensive analysis of saliva from INS children.A total of 18 children (9 children with INS and 9 normal controls) were recruited. Saliva was collected from each INS patient in the acute and remission phases. 16S rRNA gene sequencing, widely targeted metabolomics, and 4D‐DIA proteomics were performed.Actinobacteria and Firmicutes were significantly enriched in the pretreatment group compared with the normal control group, while Bacteroidota and Proteobacteria were significantly decreased. A total of 146 metabolites were identified as significantly different between INS children before treatment and normal controls, which covers 17 of 23 categories. KEGG enrichment analysis revealed three significantly enriched pathways, including ascorbate and aldarate metabolism, pentose and glucuronate interconversions, and terpenoid backbone biosynthesis (P < 0.05). A total of 389 differentially expressed proteins were selected between INS children before treatment and normal controls. According to the KEGG and GO enrichment analyses of the KOGs, abnormal ribosome structure and function and humoral immune disorders were the most prominent differences between INS patients and normal controls in the proteomic analysis.Oral microbiota dysbiosis may modulate the metabolic profile of saliva in children with INS. A study published in the journal Clinical & Translational Medicine examined the relationship between immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) and immunoglobulin A vasculitis with nephritis (IgAVN) using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) of pediatric renal tissues. The study found similarities and distinctions between the two kidney diseases, providing insights into their pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatments. The analysis revealed differences in cell type proportions, energy metabolism, and fibrosis levels between IgAN and IgAVN. The contrasting hydraulic traits observed among different plant life forms are shaped by entangled environmental and evolutionary processes. However, we lack understanding of the relative importance of life form, climate and phylogeny in explaining the variance of hydraulic traits.We analysed seven hydraulic traits and eleven climatic variables of 150 Fabaceae species representing three life forms from 62 sites worldwide, using phylogenetic comparative analyses and variance partitioning.The phylogenetic signal found in most traits disappeared after considering life form, indicating that phylogenetic conservatism in traits originated from the divergence among life forms. The trait‐climate relationships were also phylogenetically dependent, implying that trait responses are driven by climate and phylogeny together. Variance partitioning showed that phylogeny and climate explained greater trait variation than life form did.Synthesis. The climate‐driven hydraulic trait responses in Fabaceae still existed with phylogeny being considered, suggesting that this large family may be particularly sensitive to climate change. The timely degradation of tapetum, the innermost somatic anther cell layer in flowering plants, is critical for pollen development. Although several genes involved in tapetum development have been characterized, the molecular mechanisms underlying tapetum degeneration remain elusive. Here, we showed that mutation in AbnormalDegradedTapetum 1 (ADT1) resulted in overaccumulation of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and abnormal anther development, causing earlier tapetum Programmed Cell Death (PCD) and pollen abortion. ADT1 encodes a nuclear membrane localized protein, which is strongly expressed in the developing microspores and tapetal cells during early anther development. Moreover, ADT1 could interact with metallothionein MT2b, which was related to ROS scavenging and cell death regulation. These findings indicate that ADT1 is required for proper timing of tapetum PCD by regulating ROS homeostasis, expanding our understanding of the regulatory network of male reproductive development in rice. In comparison to other stroke types, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is characterized by an early age of onset and often results in poor prognosis. The inadequate blood flow at the site of the lesion leads to localized oxygen deprivation, increased level of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α), and triggers inflammatory responses and oxidative stress, ultimately causing hypoxic brain damage. Despite the potential benefits of oxygen (O 2) administration, there is currently a lack of efficient focal site O 2 delivery following SAH. Conventional clinical O 2 supply methods, such as transnasal oxygenation and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, do not show the ideal therapeutic effect in severe SAH patients. The perfluorocarbon oxygen carrier (PFOC) demonstrates efficacy in transporting O 2 and responding to elevated levels of CO 2 at the lesion site. Through cellular experiments, we determined that PFOC oxygenation serves as an effective therapeutic approach in inhibiting hypoxia. Furthermore, our animal experiments showed that PFOC oxygenation outperforms O 2 breathing, leading to microglia phenotypic switching and the suppression of inflammatory response via the inhibition of HIF-1α. Therefore, as a new type of O 2 therapy after SAH, PFOC oxygenation can effectively reduce hypoxic brain injury and improve neurological function. Subarachnoid hemorrhage primarily arises from the rupture of intracranial aneurysms. The rupture of an aneurysm results in a substantial influx of blood into the subarachnoid space, exerting arterial pressure and accumulating within the cerebral sulcus cerebral pool, thereby forming a hematoma that compresses the brain tissue. Consequently, this compression leads to localized tissue hypoxia, which subsequently triggers excitatory neuroinflammation and oxidative stress. Considering these circumstances, we propose a novel approach utilizing perfluorocarbons following subarachnoid hemorrhage, enhancing oxygenation at the site of the lesion in comparison to conventional O 2 breathing. Perfluorocarbon oxygen carrier oxygenation has been found to have a downregulating effect on HIF-1α, leading to a decrease in the population of M1-type microglia and an increase in the population of M2-type microglia. Additionally, this oxygenation process inhibits inflammatory responses and oxidative stress following subarachnoid hemorrhage, ultimately resulting in an improvement in neurological function. The presence of a heterogeneous region in the ternary diagram of 1,4-dioxane/water/ethyl acetate allows for separation by conventional three-column heterogeneous azeotropic distillation (HAD). Considering the characteristics of the ternary phase diagram, two novel heterogeneous azeotropic processes are designed, which are the heterogeneous azeotropic distillation process by adding pure ETAC as the self-solvent (HAD-PE) and heterogeneous azeotropic distillation process with partial organic phase reflux (HAD-OPR). Subsequently, self-heat recuperation (SHR) technology is introduced to the HAD-PE and HAD-OPR processes to achieve energy savings. Finally, the economic, energy, environmental and exergy aspects of the process are evaluated. Both configurations of HAD-PE and HAD-OPR are superior to HAD. The results show that the HAD-OPR-SHR process is the optimal process, with a total annual cost (TAC) reduction of 64.28%, TEC reduction of 74.62%, gas emission reduction of 72.84%, and exergy loss reduction of 74.43% compared with the HAD process. Video anomaly detection refers to the automatic identification of abnormal behaviors, objects, or events in videos. However, current methods for anomaly detection based on original frames lack a comprehensive understanding of the importance of foreground information, making it challenging to efficiently address video anomaly detection in the presence of complex background interference. In this paper, we propose a video anomaly detection algorithm based on Background Separation Network (BSN) to address this issue. Firstly, we utilize a video stabilization algorithm to reduce video jitter and enhance the quality of input video frames. Secondly, BSN shifts the focus from the entire frame to the foreground region with higher anomaly detection value. BSN utilizes the motion pixel distribution of the video as the basis for foreground extraction, enabling pixel-level background separation to obtain more accurate and complete foreground targets. Lastly, a certain proportion of foreground targets in the foreground image are masked as background, reducing the interference caused by redundant targets on the detection results. The proposed method achieves an accuracy of 96.2% on the UCSD ped2 dataset, demonstrating its effectiveness. The multi-feature and imbalanced nature of network data has always been a challenge to be overcome in the field of network intrusion detection. The redundant features in data could reduce the overall quality of network data and the accuracy of detection models, because imbalance could lead to a decrease in the detection rate for minority classes. To improve the detection accuracy for imbalanced intrusion data, we develop a data-driven integrated detection method, which utilizes Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE) for feature selection, and screens out features that are conducive to model recognition for improving the overall quality of data analysis. In this work, we also apply the Adaptive Synthetic Sampling (ADASYN) method to generate the input data close to the original dataset, which aims to eliminate the data imbalance in the studied intrusion detection model. Besides, a novel VGG-ResNet classification algorithm is also proposed via integrating the convolutional block with the output feature map size of 128 from the Visual Geometry Group 16 (VGG16) of the deep learning algorithm and the residual block with output feature map size of 256 from the Residual Network 18 (ResNet18). Based on the numerical results conducted on the well-known NSL-KDD dataset and UNSW-NB15 dataset, it illustrates that our method can achieve the accuracy rates of 86.31% and 82.56% in those two test datasets, respectively. Moreover, it can be found that the present algorithm can achieve a better accuracy and performance in the experiments of comparing our method with several existing algorithms proposed in the recent three years. Strained compounds constitute a highly topical area of research in chemistry. Borirene and borirane both feature a BC2 three‐membered ring. They can be viewed as the structural analogues of cyclopropane and cyclopropene, where a CH2 unit of the carbonaceous counterparts is replaced with BH, respectively. Indeed, this structural variation introduces numerous intriguing aspects. For instance, borirane and borirene are both Lewis acidic due to the presence of a tricoordinate borane center. In addition, borirene is 2π aromatic according to Hückel's rule. In addition to their ability to form adducts with Lewis bases and the capacity of borirenes to act as ligands in coordination with metals, both borirenes and boriranes exhibit ring‐opening reactivity due to the considerable ring strain. Under specific conditions, coordinated boriranes can even cleave two BC bonds to serve as formal borylene sources (although the reaction mechanisms are quite complex). On the other hand, recent successful syntheses of benzoborienes and their carborane‐based three‐dimensional analogues (also referred to as carborane‐fused boriranes) have introduced novel perspectives to this field. For instance, they display excellent ring‐expanding reactivity, possibly attributed to the boosted ring strain arising from the fusion of borirenes with benzene and boriranes with o‐carborane. Importantly, their applications as valuable "BC2" synthons have become increasingly evident along with the newly disclosed reactivity. Additionally, the boosted Lewis acidity of carborane‐fused boriranes, thanks to the potent electron‐withdrawing effect of o‐carborane, combined with their readiness for ring enlargement, makes them promising candidates as electron‐accepting building blocks in the construction of chemically responsive luminescent materials. This review provides a summary of the synthesis and reactivity of borirene and borirane derivatives, with the aim of encouraging the design of new borierene‐ and borirane‐based molecules and inspiring further exploration of their potential applications. Introduction: To investigate the association between alcohol drinking and glycemic management among adult patients with type 2 diabetes in regional China. Materials and Methods: In this cross‐sectional survey conducted in Nanjing Municipality of China in 2018, adult type 2 diabetes patients were randomly selected from urban and rural communities. The outcome variable was the glycemic management status. The explanatory measure was alcohol drinking. Mixed‐effects regression models were employed to estimate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI) for examining the associations of alcohol drinking with glycemic management among type 2 diabetes patients. Results: Among the overall 5,663 participants, the glycemic management rate was 39.8% (95% CI = 38.5, 41.1), with 41.2% (95% CI = 39.7, 42.7), 43.9% (95% CI = 38.9, 48.8), and 34.1% (95% CI = 31.5, 36.7) for non‐drinkers, mild/moderate drinkers, and heavy drinkers, respectively. After adjustment for potential confounders and community‐level clustering effect, heavy and mild/moderate alcohol drinkers were at 0.76 (95% CI = 0.66, 0.89) and 1.04 (95% CI = 0.87, 1.28) times odds to have glycemia under control than non‐drinkers among the overall participants. Furthermore, when stratified separately by gender and use of anti‐diabetes agents, the scenario within men, either regular or irregular users of anti‐diabetes agents was the same as that for overall participants, while the association between alcohol drinking and glycemic management became non‐significant among women. Conclusions: Heavy alcohol drinking might have a negative effect on glycemic management among patients with type 2 diabetes irrespective of the use of anti‐diabetes agents in regional China. To evaluate the long-term outcomes of degenerative mitral valve (MV) repair. This study analysed 1,069 patients who underwent MV repair due to degenerative MV disease at Beijing Anzhen Hospital from January 2010 to December 2019. All patients were clinically followed until December 2019, with an average follow-up period of 4.7 years. Perioperative complications, 30-day mortality, long-term outcomes, and risk factors of all-cause death and recurrent mitral regurgitation (MR) were summarised. Ten patients died in the hospital and 33 died during the follow-up period. Recurrent MR occurred in 113 patients. Fourteen patients underwent re-operation. Rates of long-term survival, absence of recurrent MR, and no re-operation were 94.0% (91.6%–96.6%), 81.2% (77.3%–85.3%), and 98.2% (97.2%–99.3%), respectively. The risk factors for long-term all-cause death included age and an ejection fraction (EF) <60%. The risk factors for recurrent MR included age, female sex, E-wave velocity, anterior prolapse, residual 1+MR postoperatively, and lower body mass index. Mitral valve repair is an effective treatment for degenerative MV disease that, in an experienced heart centre, can be performed with low mortality, recurrence, and re-operation rates. Advanced age and an EF <60% were risk factors for long-term all-cause death. Age, female sex, residual 1+MR postoperatively, lower body mass index, higher peak E-wave velocity, and anterior prolapse were risk factors for recurrent MR. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Previous studies have observed a 2D relationship (i.e. decoupled correlation) between leaf size (LS) and leaf economics as well as a tight correlation between leaf economics and drought tolerance. However, the underlying mechanism maintaining the relationship between LS and drought tolerance remains largely unknown. Here, we measured LS, water potential at 50% loss of hydraulic conductance, hydraulic safety margin and different orders of vein traits across 28 tree species in a subtropical forest in Southern China. We found that LS and drought tolerance were in two independent dimensions (R 2 = 0.00, P  > 0.05). Primary and secondary vein traits (i.e. vein diameter and density) explained the variation of LS, with R 2 ranging from 0.37 to 0.70 (all P s < 0.01), while minor vein traits accounted for the variation of leaf drought tolerance, with R 2 ranging from 0.30 to 0.43 (all P s < 0.01). Our results provide insight into the 2D relationship between LS and drought tolerance and highlight the importance of vein hierarchy in plant leaf functioning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this study, we synthesized NiFeRu/C nanofibers and Ru, Fe dual-doped Ni 5 P 4 (Ru, Fe-Ni 5 P 4)/C nanofibers as complementary electrocatalysts for overall water splitting through electrospinning, carbonization, and phosphorization treatment, respectively. The NiFeRu/C nanofibers and Ru, Fe-Ni 5 P 4 /C nanofibers showed high hydrogen evolution reaction and oxygen evolution reaction activity, respectively, due to the presence of numerous exposed active sites and optimized adsorption capacity for the reaction intermediates contributed by the synergistic interaction among different metal components in the electrocatalysts. Hence, the assembled asymmetrical electrolytic cell effectively promoted overall water splitting, requiring a voltage of 1.569, 1.744, and 1.872 V to achieve a current density of 100, 500, and 1,000 mA cm−2, respectively, and it was better than Pt/C||IrO 2. Additionally, the electrolytic cell could work at 500 mA cm−2 for 100 h without any noticeable deterioration in activity, which indicated that it was durable at high current density. Background: Tuition-free normal university students (TFNUS) have become an important group in Chinese normal university. The subjective well-being of TFNUS not only affects their own mental health, and decisions to stay in the teaching profession, but also can significantly influence their future student's perception of stress, learning motivation and academic achievement. However, little attention has been paid to the relationship between positive factors and TFNUS's subjective well-being and the underlying mechanism and boundary condition. The purpose of this study is to examine whether, how and when profession-related support from different sources influences TFNUS's subjective well-being.Methods: Based on the Conservation of Resource Theory and Self-Determination Theory, a time-lagged design was used to collect two wave data (N=526), and we use dominance analysis to examine the relative importance of profession-related support from significant others (eg, government, teachers, and parents) in relation to subjective well-being among Chinese tuition-free normal university students, and propose a moderated mediation model to reveal the mediating (intrinsic motivation for teaching) and moderating (dispositional gratitude) effects of this relation.Results: Profession-related government, teacher, and parent support were all positively related to subjective well-being, in a descending order of relative importance were as follows: teacher, parent and government. Furthermore, intrinsic motivation for teaching mediated the relationship between profession-related support and subjective well-being. In addition, dispositional gratitude only moderated the relationship between two sources (teacher and parent, respectively) of profession-related support and intrinsic motivation for teaching. Moreover, dispositional gratitude moderated the strength of the indirect effect of profession-related teacher support and parent support on subjective well-being (through intrinsic motivation for teaching), and the mediated relationship was stronger for those with high (vs low) dispositional gratitude.Conclusion: The profession-related support had positive direct effect on tuition-free normal university students' subjective well-being, as well as indirect effect through intrinsic motivation for teaching. Dispositional gratitude moderated the relationship between of profession-related teacher, parent support and intrinsic motivation for teaching, and the strength of the indirect effect of this support on subjective well-being. Bacillus subtilis can be used as a microecological agent in livestock and poultry production. In the production of broilers, adding Bacillus subtilis to the diet can improve growth performance, maintain intestinal barrier, regulate cytokine secretion, stabilize intestinal microbiota, improve antioxidant capacity, and have a positive impact on the production performance, immune function and meat quality of broilers. Purpose: Total-body PET imaging with ultra-high sensitivity makes high-temporal-resolution framing protocols possible for the first time, which allows to capture rapid tracer dynamic changes. However, whether protocols with higher number of temporal frames can justify the efficacy with substantially added computation burden for clinical application remains unclear. We have developed a kinetic modeling software package (uKinetics) with the advantage of practical, fast, and automatic workflow for dynamic total-body studies. The aim of this work is to verify the uKinetics with PMOD and to perform framing protocol optimization for the oncological Patlak parametric imaging. Methods: Six different protocols with 100, 61, 48, 29, 19 and 12 temporal frames were applied to analyze 60-min dynamic 18F-FDG PET scans of 10 patients, respectively. Voxel-based Patlak analysis coupled with automatically extracted image-derived input function was applied to generate parametric images. Normal tissues and lesions were segmented manually or automatically to perform correlation analysis and Bland–Altman plots. Different protocols were compared with the protocol of 100 frames as reference. Results: Minor differences were found between uKinetics and PMOD in the Patlak parametric imaging. Compared with the protocol with 100 frames, the relative difference of the input function and quantitative kinetic parameters remained low for protocols with at least 29 frames, but increased for the protocols with 19 and 12 frames. Significant difference of lesion Ki values was found between the protocols with 100 frames and 12 frames. Conclusion: uKinetics was proved providing equivalent oncological Patlak parametric imaging comparing to PMOD. Minor differences were found between protocols with 100 and 29 frames, which indicated that 29-frame protocol is sufficient and efficient for the oncological 18F-FDG Patlak applications, and the protocols with more frames are not needed. Leaf water storage capacity and osmotic strength are important traits enabling species to adapt to environments that are often moisture limited. However, whether these drought tolerance traits are correlated with the species diversification rate (DR) of plant lineages is yet to be determined. In this study, we selected a species‐rich genus (Primulina) of plants widely distributed in karst regions in which species frequently experience variable periods of drought. We measured water storage capacity‐related traits (including leaf thickness and water content per mass) and saturated osmotic strength in the leaves of 58 Primulina species growing in a common garden. Subsequently, using phylogenetic methods, we examined the relationships between the rate of species diversification and the drought tolerance traits and between the species DR and evolutionary rates of these traits. We found that neither water storage capacity nor saturated osmotic strength showed significant relationships with the rate of species diversification. However, the evolutionary rate of saturated osmotic strength showed a significant correlation with the species DR, although no comparable significant relationship was detected regarding the evolutionary rate of water storage capacity. Our study indicates that the diversification among Primulina species has typically been accompanied by an extensive divergence of leaf osmotic strength but not a divergence in leaf water storage capacity. Open in new tab Download slide OBJECTIVES Atrial functional mitral regurgitation (AFMR) in patients with heart failure with recovered ejection fraction has received insufficient attention. This study analysed the prognosis and outcomes of mitral valve (MV) repair combined with the Cox-maze procedure. METHODS A prospective cohort study of patients with AFMR with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) <40% was conducted. All patients received guideline-directed medical therapy. Those with recovered ejection fraction underwent MV repair combined with the Cox-maze procedure. Mortality, atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrence, mitral regurgitation (MR) and postoperative tricuspid regurgitation were assessed using the inverse probability weighting (IPW) method. RESULTS In total, 312 patients were enrolled in this study between 2010 and 2019, 247 of whom underwent MV repair combined with the Cox-maze procedure [full recovery (LVEF > 50%): n  = 132, partial recovery (LVEF of 40–50%): n  = 115]. IPW-adjusted survival of patients with LVEF ≥50% and LVEF 40–50% showed no significant difference [hazard ratio (HR): 2.18, 95% confidence interval: 0.46–10.38, P  = 0.33]. However, patients with LVEF ≥50% had better IPW-adjusted long-term freedom from recurrent MR [HR: 2.44 (1.28–4.63), P  = 0.0065] and AF recurrence [HR: 1.85 (1.06–3.21), P  = 0.030] than those with LVEF of 40–50%. CONCLUSIONS MV repair combined with the Cox-maze procedure was effective and feasible in patients with severe AFMR with heart failure with recovered ejection fraction. Additionally, patients with LVEF ≥50% after guideline-directed medical therapy undergoing these combined procedures had better long-term freedom from recurrent AF and MR than those with LVEF of 40–50%. Breast cancer treatment can be improved with biomarkers for early detection and individualized therapy. A set of 86 microRNAs (miRNAs) were identified to separate breast cancer tumors from normal breast tissues (n = 52) with an overall accuracy of 90.4%. Six miRNAs had concordant expression in both tumors and breast cancer patient blood samples compared with the normal control samples. Twelve miRNAs showed concordant expression in tumors vs. normal breast tissues and patient survival (n = 1093), with seven as potential tumor suppressors and five as potential oncomiRs. From experimentally validated target genes of these 86 miRNAs, pan-sensitive and pan-resistant genes with concordant mRNA and protein expression associated with in-vitro drug response to 19 NCCN-recommended breast cancer drugs were selected. Combined with in-vitro proliferation assays using CRISPR-Cas9/RNAi and patient survival analysis, MEK inhibitors PD19830 and BRD-K12244279, pilocarpine, and tremorine were discovered as potential new drug options for treating breast cancer. To evaluate the clinical efficacy of carbon dioxide laser in the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence and analyze the influencing factors. A total of 46 patients with stress urinary incontinence treated in the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University from March 2021 to August 2022 were included through strict inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria. All patients were treated with transvaginal carbon dioxide laser therapy, and Patient Global Impression of Change (PGI-C) was used to evaluate patients' subjective satisfaction after treatment. The efficacy was evaluated by patient's subjective assessment of leakage, IngelmanSundberg scale, 1-h urine pad test, and international consultation on incontinence questionnaire short form (ICI-Q-SF) before and after treatment, and the adverse reactions after treatment were recorded. The treatment effect was divided into "significant effect group" and "no significant effect group" by subjective satisfaction and post-treatment-related scale evaluation. After laser treatment, patients' subjective symptom improved, the volume of 1-h urine pad test was reduced, and the ICI-Q-SF score was decreased, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in IngelmanSundberg scale before and after treatment (P = 1.00). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that pad test volume was significantly correlated with treatment effect (P = 0.007). There is currently no gene expression assay that can assess if premalignant lesions will develop into invasive breast cancer. This study sought to identify biomarkers for selecting patients with a high potential for developing invasive carcinoma in the breast with normal histology, benign lesions, or premalignant lesions. A set of 26-gene mRNA expression profiles were used to identify invasive ductal carcinomas from histologically normal tissue and benign lesions and to select those with a higher potential for future cancer development (ADHC) in the breast associated with atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH). The expression-defined model achieved an overall accuracy of 94.05% (AUC = 0.96) in classifying invasive ductal carcinomas from histologically normal tissue and benign lesions (n = 185). This gene signature classified cancer development in ADH tissues with an overall accuracy of 100% (n = 8). The mRNA expression patterns of these 26 genes were validated using RT-PCR analyses of independent tissue samples (n = 77) and blood samples (n = 48). The protein expression of PBX2 and RAD52 assessed with immunohistochemistry were prognostic of breast cancer survival outcomes. This signature provided significant prognostic stratification in The Cancer Genome Atlas breast cancer patients (n = 1100), as well as basal-like and luminal A subtypes, and was associated with distinct immune infiltration and activities. The mRNA and protein expression of the 26 genes was associated with sensitivity or resistance to 18 NCCN-recommended drugs for treating breast cancer. In this study, an intelligent vehicle (IV) path tracking control method based on curvature optimisation is proposed to reduce the comprehensive performance conflict of the system. This system conflict is caused by the mutual restriction between the path tracking accuracy and the body stability during the movement of the intelligent automobile. First, the working principle of the new IV path tracking control algorithm is briefly introduced. Then, a three-degrees-of-freedom vehicle dynamics model and a preview error model considering vehicle roll are established. In addition, a path tracking control method based on curvature optimisation is designed to solve the deterioration of vehicle stability even when the path tracking accuracy of the IV is improved. Finally, the effectiveness of the IV path tracking control system is validated through simulations and the Hardware in the Loop (HIL) test with various conditions forms. Results clearly show that the optimisation amplitude of the IV lateral deviation is up to 84.10%, and the stability is improved by approximately 2% under the vx = 10 m/s and ρ = 0.15 m−1 condition; the optimisation amplitude of the lateral deviation is up to 66.80%, and the stability is improved by approximately 4% under the vx = 10 m/s and ρ = 0.2 m−1 condition; the body stability is improved by 20–30% under the vx = 15 m/s and ρ = 0.15 m−1 condition, and the boundary conditions of body stability are triggered. The curvature optimisation controller can effectively improve the tracking accuracy of the fuzzy sliding mode controller. In 1 M KOH electrolyte, the fabricated NiMo solid-solution alloy porous nanofibers exhibited higher HER activity than Ni nanofibers, which required a low overpotential of 69, 208, and 300 mV at 100, 500, and 1000 mA cm−2, respectively, and had outstanding durability at 100 mA cm−2 over 60 h. The extraction of titanium-bearing components in the form of CaTiO3 is an efficient utilization of blast furnace slag. The photocatalytic performance of this obtained CaTiO3 (MM-CaTiO3) as a catalyst for methylene blue (MB) degradation was evaluated in this study. The analyses indicated that the MM-CaTiO3 had a completed structure with a special length–diameter ratio. Furthermore, the oxygen vacancy was easier to generate on a MM-CaTiO3(110) plane during the photocatalytic process, contributing to improving photocatalytic activity. Compared with traditional catalysts, MM-CaTiO3 has a narrower optical band gap and visible-light responsive performance. The degradation experiments further confirmed that the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of pollutants by using MM-CaTiO3 was 3.2 times that of pristine CaTiO3 in optimized conditions. Combined with molecular simulation, the degradation mechanism clarified that acridine of MB molecular was stepwise destroyed by using MM-CaTiO3 in short times, which is different from demethylation and methylenedioxy ring degradation by using TiO2. This study provided a promising routine for using solid waste to obtain catalysts with excellent photocatalytic activity and was found to be in keeping with sustainable environmental development. Simple Summary: This study identified a set of 73 microRNAs (miRNAs) that can accurately detect lung cancer tumors from normal lung tissues. Based on the consistent expression patterns associated with patient survival outcomes and in tumors vs. normal lung tissues, 10 miRNAs were considered to be putatively tumor suppressive and 4 miRNAs were deemed as oncogenic in lung cancer. From the list of genes that were targeted by the 73 diagnostic miRNAs, DGKE and WDR47 had significant associations with responses to both systemic therapies and radiotherapy in lung cancer. Based on our identified miRNA-regulated network, we discovered three drugs—BX-912, daunorubicin, and midostaurin—that can be repositioned to treat lung cancer, which was not known before. The majority of lung cancer patients are diagnosed with metastatic disease. This study identified a set of 73 microRNAs (miRNAs) that classified lung cancer tumors from normal lung tissues with an overall accuracy of 96.3% in the training patient cohort (n = 109) and 91.7% in unsupervised classification and 92.3% in supervised classification in the validation set (n = 375). Background: Since renal cell carcinoma(RCC) is insensitive to conventional chemoradiotherapy, molecularly targeted drugs are commonly used treatments for unresectable advanced RCC. The aim of this study was to explore the efficacy and safety of TACE + sunitinib vs. sunitinib in the treatment of unresectable advanced RCC. Methods: This study included 98 patients with unresectable advanced RCC who were treated in Union Hospital from January 2015 to December 2018, and they met the criteria. They were divided into two groups: TACE + Sunitinib group (N = 47) and Sunitinib group (N = 51). We conducted a retrospective study to analyze the efficacy and safety of the two groups of patients. Results: (1)TACE + Sunitinib group: 4 patients (8.5%) achieved CR, 27 patients (57.5%) achieved PR, 9 patients (19.1%) achieved SD, and 7 patients (14.9%) achieved PD. Background: The National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines recommend routine postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy for patients with stage III rectal cancer who do not receive neoadjuvant therapy before surgery. The present study aimed to evaluate the value of postoperative radiotherapy in patients with low-risk disease (pT1-3N1M0) who did not receive neoadjuvant therapy prior to total mesorectal excision. Methods: We used the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database (2004–2016) to retrospectively recruit patients with pT1-3N1M0 rectal cancer whose initial treatment was radical surgery with postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. A propensity score model was used to balance the baseline covariates. Results: Of the 2012 patients included in the present study, 1384 received adjuvant chemoradiotherapy (radio group), whereas the remaining 718 received chemotherapy alone (no-radio group). There was no significant difference in cancer-specific survival rate between the two groups (log-rank test χ2 = 2.372, P = 0.124) in the overall sample. Additionally, in the propensity score−matched cohort, adjuvant radiotherapy did not improve cancer-specific survival. Subgroup analysis showed that having three positive lymph nodes and a tumor > 50 mm, combined with postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy, could lead to an improved tumor-specific survival rate, while other cases did not benefit from postoperative radiotherapy. Conclusions: For patients with pT1-3N1M0 rectal cancer who did not receive neoadjuvant therapy before surgery, postoperative radiotherapy in addition to adjuvant chemotherapy did not significantly improve survival rates. Lead (Pb) is a heavy metal commonly found in industrial exhaust gases, which can reduce catalytic activity of a catalyst for the NH3‐SCR reaction. In this study, 4.0 wt% Mn‐loaded Fe‐pillared interlayer clay (4Mn/Fe‐PILC) and its Co‐modified catalyst (2Co‐4Mn/Fe‐PILC) were prepared, in the meanwhile the 4Mn/Fe‐PILC‐Pb and 2Co‐4Mn/Fe‐PILC‐Pb samples were also obtained using the impregnation method with a Pb(CH3COO)2 aqueous solution. It was found that the addition of 2.0 wt% cobalt could significantly enhance Pb resistance of the 4Mn/Fe‐PILC catalyst. The characterization results revealed that the doping of Co to Mn/Fe‐PILC increased the surface Mn4+ species concentration, reducibility, and acid site amount, thereby improving Pb resistance of the catalyst. Furthermore, the in situ DRIFTS results demonstrated that Co modification enhanced the adsorption capacity of NH3 or NO, especially influenced formation of the NH3 intermediates and bridging nitrate species, which were also conducive to the improvement in Pb resistance of the catalyst. The last decades have seen a huge growth in the investigation of intermetallic compounds at the interfaces of laminated composites due to their useful features. In this research, effects of the formation of intermetallic compounds on tensile properties and wear resistance of Ni/Ti composites produced by cross-accumulative roll bonding (CARB) process have been examined at different annealing times and temperatures. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images demonstrated that the layers were well bonded together, but Ni layers experienced instabilities in light of plastic deformation. The EBSD results showed lamellar structure and crystallographic texture on Ti and Ni layers during plastic deformation. According to X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and energy-dispersive spectrometer (EDS) analyses, NiTi2 and NiTi were present in all annealed samples. The thickness of intermetallic compounds grew with an increase in annealing temperature and time. However, this growth led to a decrease in tensile strength while the values of elongation fluctuated. Based on the results of the wear test, the composite became more resistant to wear when the thickness of intermetallic layers increased. The surfaces of these layers with less roughness and lower coefficients of friction facilitated the movement of steel pin on samples during the wear test. Furthermore, wear mechanisms of adhesion, abrasion, and delamination were observed, and they were more noticeable at higher loads and lower annealing temperatures and times. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Energy-saving extractive distillation for separating ethanol and 1,4-dioxane from the industrial effluent is proposed. From the point of COSMO-SAC model and thermodynamic insights, appropriate entrainer is screened. Ethylene glycol (EG) is chosen in direct extractive distillation process. Subsequently, it is observed that increasing the pressure can make the azeotropic point of ethanol and 1,4-dioxane disappear. Thus, both EG and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) are used as entrainers in indirect extractive distillation (IED) process. The entropy generation of different sections of each column is analyzed. And then, heat integration and heat pump technologies are used to reduce more energy consumption. The comparison results show that the total annual cost (TAC), total energy consumption, CO 2 emissions and entropy generation of IED process with DMSO as entrainer (IED-DMSO) is smaller than those processes with EG as entrainer. The IED-DMSO process in combination with heat integration performs best, the TAC is reduced by 41.96%, energy consumption is reduced by 50.28%, CO 2 emissions is decreased by 50.28% and entropy generation is decreased by 57.46% comparison with the IED-EG process. The electronic medical records (EMRs) of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) include a wealth of TCM knowledge and syndrome diagnosis information, which is crucial for improving the quality of TCM auxiliary decision-making. In practical diagnosis, one disease corresponds to one syndrome, posing considerable hurdles for the informatization of TCM. The purpose of this work was to create an end-to-end TCM diagnostic model, and the knowledge graph (KG) created in this article is used to improve the model's information and realize auxiliary decision-making for TCM disorders. We approached auxiliary decision-making for syndrome differentiation in this article as a multilabel classification task and presented a knowledge-based decision support model for syndrome differentiation (KDSD). Specifically, we created a KG based on TCM features (TCMKG), supplementing the textual representation of medical data with embedded information. Finally, we proposed fusing medical text with KG entity representation (F-MT-KER) to get prediction results using a linear output layer. After obtaining the vector representation of the medical record text using the BERT model, the vector representation of various KG embedded models can provide additional hidden information to a certain extent. Experimental results show that our method improves by 1% (P@1) on the syndrome differentiation auxiliary decision task compared to the baseline model BERT. The usage of EMRs can aid TCM development more efficiently. With the help of entity level representation, character level representation, and model fusion, the multilabel classification method based on the pretraining model and KG can better simulate the TCM syndrome differentiation of the complex cases. There are insufficient accurate biomarkers and effective therapeutic targets in current cancer treatment. Multi-omics regulatory networks in patient bulk tumors and single cells can shed light on molecular disease mechanisms. Integration of multi-omics data with large-scale patient electronic medical records (EMRs) can lead to the discovery of biomarkers and therapeutic targets. In this review, multi-omics data harmonization methods were introduced, and common approaches to molecular network inference were summarized. Our Prediction Logic Boolean Implication Networks (PLBINs) have advantages over other methods in constructing genome-scale multi-omics networks in bulk tumors and single cells in terms of computational efficiency, scalability, and accuracy. Based on the constructed multi-modal regulatory networks, graph theory network centrality metrics can be used in the prioritization of candidates for discovering biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Our approach to integrating multi-omics profiles in a patient cohort with large-scale patient EMRs such as the SEER-Medicare cancer registry combined with extensive external validation can identify potential biomarkers applicable in large patient populations. These methodologies form a conceptually innovative framework to analyze various available information from research laboratories and healthcare systems, accelerating the discovery of biomarkers and therapeutic targets to ultimately improve cancer patient survival outcomes. The formation shear-wave (S-wave)'s velocity information around a borehole is of great importance in evaluating borehole stability, reflecting fluid invasion, and selecting perforation positions. Dipole acoustic logging is an effective method for determining a formation S-wave's velocity radial profile around the borehole. Currently, the formation S-wave's radial-profile inversion methods are mainly based on the impacts of radial velocity changes of formations outside the borehole on the dispersion characteristics of dipole waveforms, without considering the impacts of an acoustic tool on the dispersion curves in the inversion methods. Accordingly, the inversion accuracy is greatly impacted in practical data-processing applications. In this paper, a novel inversion algorithm, which introduces equivalent-tool theory into the shear-velocity radial profile constrained-inversion method, is proposed to obtain the S-wave's slowness radial profile. Based on the equivalent-tool theory, the acoustic tool can be modeled using two parameters, radius and elastic modulus. The tool's impact on the dipole waveform's dispersion is eliminated first by using the equivalent-tool theory. Then, the corrected dispersion curve is used to carry out the constrained inversion processing. Catalase (CAT) is an important antioxidant enzyme in plants that plays a key role in plant growth and stress responses. CAT is usually encoded by a small gene family that has been cloned and functionally studied in some species, such as Arabidopsis, wheat and cucumber, but its specific roles in rice are not clear at present. In this study, we identified three CAT family genes (OsCAT1, OsCAT2 and OsCAT3) in the rice genome and performed a systematic bioinformatics analysis. RT−PCR analysis revealed that OsCAT1–OsCAT3 was primarily expressed in vegetative tissues such as roots, stems and leaves. Since OsCAT3 showed the highest expression level among the three OsCAT genes, we then focused on its related functions. OsCAT3 prokaryotic expression protein has an obvious ability to remove H2O2. The OsCAT3crispr plant was short and had a low survival rate, the leaves were small with brown lesions, and the activities of the CAT, POD and SOD enzymes were significantly reduced. A microarray analysis showed that differentially expressed genes were primarily enriched in toxin metabolism and photosynthesis. Emvododstat is a potent inhibitor of dihydroorotate dehydrogenase and is now in clinical development for the treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia and COVID-19. Following an oral dose administration in Long-Evans rats, 14C-emvododstat-derived radioactivity was widely distributed throughout the body, with the highest distribution in the endocrine, fatty, and secretory tissues and the lowest in central nervous system. Following a single oral dose of 14C-emvododstat in rats, 54.7% of the dose was recovered in faeces while less than 0.4% of dose was recovered in urine 7 days post-dose. Emvododstat was the dominant radioactive component in plasma and faeces. Following a single oral dose of 14C-emvododstat in dogs, 75.2% of the dose was recovered in faeces while 0.5% of dose was recovered in urine 8 days post-dose. Emvododstat was the dominant radioactive component in faeces, while emvododstat and its two metabolites (O-desmethyl emvododstat and emvododstat amide bond hydrolysis product) were the major circulating radioactivity in dog plasma. There are currently no effective biomarkers for prognosis and optimal treatment selection to improve non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) survival outcomes. This study further validated a seven-gene panel for diagnosis and prognosis of NSCLC using RNA sequencing and proteomic profiles of patient tumors. Within the seven-gene panel, ZNF71 expression combined with dendritic cell activities defined NSCLC patient subgroups (n = 966) with distinct survival outcomes (p = 0.04, Kaplan–Meier analysis). ZNF71 expression was significantly associated with the activities of natural killer cells (p = 0.014) and natural killer T cells (p = 0.003) in NSCLC patient tumors (n = 1016) using Chi-squared tests. Overexpression of ZNF71 resulted in decreased expression of multiple components of the intracellular intrinsic and innate immune systems, including dsRNA and dsDNA sensors. Multi-omics networks of ZNF71 and the intracellular intrinsic and innate immune systems were computed as relevant to NSCLC tumorigenesis, proliferation, and survival using patient clinical information and in-vitro CRISPR-Cas9/RNAi screening data. From these networks, pan-sensitive and pan-resistant genes to 21 NCCN-recommended drugs for treating NSCLC were selected. Based on the gene associations with patient survival and in-vitro CRISPR-Cas9, RNAi, and drug screening data, MEK1/2 inhibitors PD-198306 and U-0126, VEGFR inhibitor ZM-306416, and IGF-1R inhibitor PQ-401 were discovered as potential targeted therapy that may also induce an immune response for treating NSCLC. There are currently no accurate biomarkers for optimal treatment selection in early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Novel therapeutic targets are needed to improve NSCLC survival outcomes. This study systematically evaluated the association between genome-scale regulatory network centralities and NSCLC tumorigenesis, proliferation, and survival in early-stage NSCLC patients. Boolean implication networks were used to construct multimodal networks using patient DNA copy number variation, mRNA, and protein expression profiles. T statistics of differential gene/protein expression in tumors versus non-cancerous adjacent tissues, dependency scores in in vitro CRISPR-Cas9/RNA interference (RNAi) screening of human NSCLC cell lines, and hazard ratios in univariate Cox modeling of the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) NSCLC patients were correlated with graph theory centrality metrics. Hub genes in multi-omics networks involving gene/protein expression were associated with oncogenic, proliferative potentials and poor patient survival outcomes (p < 0.05, Pearson's correlation). Immunotherapy targets PD1, PDL1, CTLA4, and CD27 were ranked as top hub genes within the 10th percentile in most constructed multi-omics networks. BUB3, DNM1L, EIF2S1, KPNB1, NMT1, PGAM1, and STRAP were discovered as important hub genes in NSCLC proliferation with oncogenic potential. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are revealed to be involved in the tumorigenesis and progression of human malignancies mediated by microRNA (miRNA) via the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) mechanism, a newly proposed "RNA language." However, the lncRNA-associated competing triplet (lncACT) network among ceRNA transcripts in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is currently lacking. We carried out differential expression analysis to identify aberrantly expressed lncRNAs, miRNAs, and mRNAs by analyzing the RNA-seq data of 420 ccRCC tissues and 71 noncancerous kidney tissues obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Then, a ccRCC-specific ceRNA network was built using computational algorithms, including miRcode, TargetScan, miRanda, and miRTarBase. In total, 1491 dysregulated lncRNAs were found between normal renal tissues and ccRCC (fold change > 4 and false discovery rate < 0.01). A ceRNA network that comprised of 46 DElncRNAs, 11 DEmiRNAs, and 55 DEmRNAs was established by integrating the lncRNA/miRNA and miRNA/mRNA interactions into lncACTs. Several lncRNAs were identified to be significantly associated with clinical features of ccRCC patients. Notably, four key lncRNAs (TCL6, HOTTIP, HULC, and PCGEM1) were tightly correlated with both patients' clinical characteristics and overall survival (log-rank P < 0.05), indicating their potential important roles in ccRCC. HOTTIP may be a potential prognostic and therapeutic molecular marker for ccRCC patients. Tungsten-doped diamond is employed as a promising ablator material in high-gain laser fusion target design. Unlike for pure carbon, reports on the equation of state (EOS) of tungsten-doped carbon are limited, particularly in the high-pressure range over Mbar, which is relevant to laser fusion. To complement the radiation-hydrodynamic simulations of laser fusion, we developed the EOS of tungsten-doped carbon by combining the quotidian EOS model and large-scale atomistic simulations, which provide fundamental material parameters. In this manner, the EOS of doped carbon can be efficiently constructed. The influence of tungsten doping on the diamond material parameters and EOS was observed. Machine learning (ML) and privacy protection are inseparable. On the one hand, ML can be the target of privacy protection; on the other hand, it can also be used as an attack tool for privacy protection. Ring signature (RS) is an effective way for privacy protection in cryptography. In particular, lattice-based RS can still protect the privacy of users even in the presence of quantum computers. However, most current lattice-based RS schemes are based on a strong trapdoor like hash-and-sign, and in such constructions, there is a hidden algebraic structure, that is, added to lattice so that the trapdoor shape is not leaked, which greatly affects the computational efficiency of RS. In this study, utilizing Lyubashevsky collision-resistant hash function over lattice, we construct an RS scheme without trapdoors based on ideal lattice via Fiat‒Shamir with aborts (FSwA) protocol. Regarding security, the proposed scheme satisfies unconditional anonymity against chosen setting attacks (UA-CSA), which is stronger than anonymity against full key exposure (anonymity-FKE), and moreover, our scheme satisfies unforgeability with respect to insider corruption (EU-IC). Regarding computational overhead, compared with other RS schemes that satisfy the same degree of security, our scheme has the highest computational efficiency, the signing and verification time costs of the proposed scheme are obviously better than those of other lattice-based RS schemes without trapdoors, which is more suitable for ML scenarios. Reducing the damage of structures under stress wave is one of the popular and challenging issues in the field of protection engineering. In this study, the effect of plastic modified concrete as an attenuation layer on stress wave was investigated through large-scale explosion tests. The volume ratios of plastic particles used as replacement material were 2%, 4%, and 8%. Two explosions were used in each group to analyze the change of pressure under the plastic modified concrete as the attenuation layer. Experimental results showed that as low-impedance material, plastic particles can reduce the stress wave transmitted through the plastic modified concrete, and the elastic–plastic deformation of plastic increases energy consumption. Plastic modified concrete is more difficult to be compacted than loess attenuation layer. Thus, the clipping performance of the plastic modified concrete under the second explosion is better than that of the loess attenuation layer. The effect of plastic modified concrete on shortening the action time of stress wave is not obvious. Plastic modified concrete reduces damage by weakening the peak value of stress wave. The effects of explosive quantity, detonation distance, and plastic particle content on stress wave were studied through experiments and simulation. The propagation process of waves in the plastic modified concrete was studied via numerical simulation, and a fitting formula of wave cutting performance of plastic modified concrete was presented. The recycling and regeneration of Fe(III) is the key point for promoting the oxidation reaction of ore to produce acidic mine drainage (AMD). Hydroxyapatite (HAP) has excellent adsorption ability of Fe(III), which has good biocompatibility and is widely distributed in nature. In order to achieve the source treatment of AMD, the migration and transformation of Fe(III) in the presence of HAP were systematically investigated. In this study, the influence of HAP on the migration of Fe(III) was evaluated though the transformation capacity of Fe(III) by HAP. The adsorption transformation kinetic, equilibrium and thermodynamics of Fe(III) using HAP were also systematic investigated. The transformation efficiency of Fe(III) increased with the increasing initial pH value and reached 99.8% at a pH of 5 due to the hydrolysis reaction. The transformation efficiency was also up to 99% at an initial pH of 2 when the reaction temperature increased to 313 K. However, the transformation capability of Fe(III) decreases with reaction temperature. The kinetics of the adsorption of Fe(III) fitted the pseudo second order kinetic model. Experimental results were also analyzed by the Langmuir isotherm equations at room temperatures. RL separation factor for Langmuir isotherm showed that the migration of Fe(III) is successfully hindered by HAP. Various thermodynamic parameters such as enthalpy (ΔH), Gibbs free energy (ΔG) and entropy (ΔS) changes were computed, which showed that the transport lag of Fe(III) caused by HAP is spontaneous and endothermic. Selective glomerular filtration relies on the membrane separating the glomerular arterioles from the Bowman space. As a major component of the glomerular filtration barrier, podocytes form foot processes by the actin cytoskeleton, which dynamically adjusts in response to environmental changes to maintain filtration barrier integrity. The slit diaphragms bridge the filtration slits between neighboring foot processes and act as signaling hubs interacting with the actin cytoskeleton. Focal adhesions relay signals to regulate actin dynamics while allowing podocyte adherence to the basement membrane. Mutations in actin regulatory and signaling proteins may disrupt the actin cytoskeleton, resulting in foot process retraction, effacement, and proteinuria. Large‐scale gene expression profiling platforms, transgenic animal models, and other in vivo gene delivery methods now enhance our understanding of the interactions among podocyte focal adhesions, slit diaphragms, and actin dynamics. In addition, our team found that at least 66% of idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (INS) children have podocyte autoantibodies, which was defined as a new disease subgroup‐, autoimmune podocytopathies. Summary: Plant plastic responses are critical to the adaptation and survival of species under climate change, but whether they are constrained by evolutionary history (phylogeny) is largely unclear. Plant leaf traits are key in determining plants' performance in different environments, and if these traits and their variation are phylogenetically dependent, predictions could be made to identify species vulnerable to climate change.We compiled data on three leaf traits (photosynthetic rate, specific leaf area, and leaf nitrogen content) and their variation under four environmental change scenarios (warming, drought, elevated CO2, or nitrogen addition) for 434 species, from 210 manipulation experiments.We found phylogenetic signal in the three traits but not in their variation under the four scenarios. This indicates that closely related species show similar traits but that their plastic responses could not be predicted from species relatedness under environmental change. Meanwhile, phylogeny weakened the slopes but did not change the directions of conventional pairwise trait relationships, suggesting that co‐evolved leaf trait pairs have consistent responses under contrasting environmental conditions.Phylogeny can identify lineages rich in species showing similar traits and predict their relationships under climate change, but the degree of plant phenotypic variation does not vary consistently across evolutionary clades. Synchronous parameters algorithms with data parallelism have been successfully utilized to accelerate the distributed training of deep neural networks (DNNs). However, a prevalent shortcoming of the synchronous methods is computation waste resulted from the mutual waiting among the computational workers with different performance and the communication delays at each synchronization. To alleviate this drawback, we propose a novel method, free local stochastic gradient descent (FLSGD) with parallel synchronization, to eliminate the waiting and communication overhead. Specifically, the process of distributed DNN training is firstly modeled as a pipeline which assembly consists of three components: dataset partition, local SGD, and parameter updating. Then, a novel adaptive batch size and dataset partition method based on the computational performance of the node is employed to eliminate the waiting time by keeping the load balance of the distributed DNN training. The local SGD and the parameter updating including gradients synchronization are parallelized to eliminate the communication cost by one-step gradient delaying, and the stale problem is remedied by an appropriate approximation.
