ZTA particle modified by Ti–Ni powder(Ti–Ni@ZTAp) reinforced iron matrix composite (Ti–Ni@ZTAp-VCp/Fe45) was fabricated by powder metallurgy. The microstructure, scratch properties and formation mechanism of the interface were investigated. An interface layer of 10 μm–20 μm was formed between ZTAp and VCp/Fe45 matrix, which reduced the defects at the interface and played a good transition role. The phases in the interface layer were TiO, Ti6O11 and ZrO2. Metallized layer was formed on the surface of ZTAp after the vacuum sintering of Ti–Ni powder modified ZTAp at 1500 °C. Elemental diffusion occurred between the Ti–Ni powder and ZTAp, which resulted that the ZrO2 phase migrated from ZTAp to the coating layer and reacted with the Ti–Ni powder to form new phases of Ni3Ti, TiO and Ti6O11. The models of the formation mechanisms of the metallized layer, interface layer between ZTAp and VCp/Fe45 matrix were established. Ni3Ti in the metallized layer on the surface of ZTAp was further decomposed duing the vacuum sintering of Ti–Ni@ZTAp-VCp/Fe45 composite, and then the elements Ni and Ti diffused with elements Fe, Cr and V of the VCp/Fe45 matrix. The V element diffusing to the interface layer can further displaced the Ti element in ZTAp and realized the diffusion from iron matrix to ZTAp. The metallized layer on the surface of ZTAp was transformed into an interface layer between ZTAp and VCp/Fe45.

Objective·To investigate the effects of the cancer-testis antigen 14 (CT14) on embryonic and larval development in nematodes by using the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans), aiming to uncover its potential functions and mechanisms during development.Methods·Transgenic C. elegans strains were constructed by using microinjection for the inducible expression of human CT14 (HsCT14), a truncated mutant of CT14 (HsCT14∆CIR) lacking CT14-specific intermediate region (CIR), and a green fluorescent protein (GFP) control. The impacts of full-length and truncated mutant CT14 on nematode embryonic and larval development were analyzed and compared. Additionally, transgenic C. elegans strains with inducible expression of CT14 from various primates, including the crab-eating macaque (Macaca fascicularis) and mouse lemur (Microcebus murinus), were also constructed to assess the effects on egg hatching and larval-to-adult transformation rates. The differential gene expression in nematode embryos induced by CT14 was analyzed by Smart-seq transcriptome sequencing, with further insights gained through KEGG (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes) and GSEA (Gene Set Enrichment Analysis), to explore the involved biological processes and pathways.Results·The induced expression of HsCT14 and its truncated mutant HsCT14∆CIR significantly reduced the hatching rate of nematode eggs, with a more pronounced effect observed in HsCT14-expressing strains. Differential interference contrast (DIC) microscopy imaging revealed significant morphological abnormalities in embryos expressing HsCT14 during the comma stage. Nematodes expressing HsCT14 or HsCT14∆CIR exhibited developmental arrest in larvae and substantially lower larval-to-adult transformation rates compared to the GFP control. The impact was more pronounced in nematodes expressing HsCT14 than those with HsCT14∆CIR. The expression of Macaca fascicularis CT14 (MfCT14) exhibited significant effects on the hatching rate and adult transformation rate, similar to that of HsCT14, while the expression of Microcebus murinus CT14 (MmCT14) displayed significantly reduced impact compared to HsCT14 and MfCT14. Smart-seq results indicated that CT14 expression affected various biological processes in nematode embryos, related to ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling and DNA replication.Conclusion·Ectopic expression of the cancer-testis antigen CT14 significantly disrupts both embryonic and larval developments in C. elegans, with the CIR sequence substantially enhancing this effect. It suggests that CT14 may play an important regulatory role in biological development by affecting gene expression in multiple pathways, including chromatin remodeling.

Phthalates (PAEs) are synthetic compounds extensively employed in consumer products. Blood pressure (BP) in children can vary, the degree of visit-to-visit BP variability (VVV) is at least partially independent of BP. The interactions between PAEs exposure, pubertal-related genetic susceptibility and lifestyles on childhood VVV are not investigated. This study utilized data from a cohort collected from Oct 2017–2020 in Xiamen, China. Seven urine PAE metabolites were measured. The long-term VVV was characterized employing the standard deviation (SD) and average real variability. We constructed a genetic risk score (GRS) of pubertal-related genes and healthy lifestyle scores. Exposed to high levels of mono-2-ethyl-5-hydroxyhexyl phthalate (MEHHP) (OR=1.43, 95 %CI=1.07, 1.92) and mono-2-ethyl-5-oxohexyl phthalate (OR=1.36, 95 % CI=1.01, 1.83) was related to increased SBP-SD, and the OR for high SBP-SD related to high GRS was 1.38 (95 % CI=1.02, 1.85). Intentional or unintentional littering, especially among young people, poses a threat to the marine environment. It is, therefore, necessary to enhance awareness of marine environmental protection among youth groups. This study explored the interaction between visual image types (photograph vs. cartoon), message framing (positive vs. negative), and psychological distance (human vs. turtle). A three-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and regression analysis were used to verify the hypotheses. The key findings of the research were as follows: (1) Among the eight information construction methods, cartoons combined with turtles and presented with positive outcomes were the best way to communicate, i.e., cartoons showing animals in a friendly and positive way were the most effective form of marine garbage recycling for young people, and (2) Young people's preference for information will promote their self-efficacy in marine garbage recycling. The implications of these findings for developing marine protection information communication education for youth groups are also proposed.

Objectives: The role of Epoxide Hydrolase-4 (EPHX4), a member of epoxide hydrolase family, has not been investigated in cancer. The purpose of this article is to explore the application value of EPHX4 in laryngeal cancer and its relationship with immune infiltration. Methods: We observed that EPHX4 expression and its survival assays in laryngeal cancer specimens based on The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) cohorts. We also analyzed the correlation between immune cell infiltration levels and EPHX4 gene copy number in laryngeal cancer. Finally, we conducted in vitro assay to evaluate the functions of EPHX4 in laryngeal cancer cell line. Results: EPHX4 is highly expressed in laryngeal cancer specimens and has a poor prognosis. EPHX4 related immune cell analysis showed that it participated in NK Natural killer cell mediated cytotoxicity. Finally, Cell experiments indicate that EPHX4 could promote laryngeal cancer cell line proliferation, colony formation and invasion. Conclusions: Our research results suggest that EPHX4 may be a potential immunotherapy target for laryngeal cancer. The nominated immune signature is a helpful and promising prognostic indicator in laryngeal cancer. Levels of Evidence: Level 3.

In order to satisfy the demand of consumers for a diversified intake of high quality protein, a fermented plant-based milk substitute product was developed from pea protein. The relationship between the addition of pea protein powder, pea starch and white sugar and the organoleptic quality of the product was analysed in an orthogonal test to determine the optimum amount of pea protein powder, pea starch and white sugar. The results showed that the best fermentation effect was achieved at 4 h and 10% inoculum of fermenting agent. The main physical properties of the product were as follows: Brightness (L*) 74.74±0.02, hardness 124.45±0.30 g, viscosity 233.11±7.27 g·s, water holding capacity 92.13%. The product was a non-Newtonian fluid and elastic, the surface microstructure was denser, more porous and smaller compared to traditional yoghurt. Therefore, this study provides technical support for the development of new plant-based yoghurt and further broadening the application and production of plant-based yogurt.

Abstract Spintronic device is the fundamental platform for spin-related academic and practical studies. However, conventional techniques with energetic deposition or boorish transfer of ferromagnetic metal inevitably introduce uncontrollable damage and undesired contamination in various spin-transport-channel materials, leading to partially attenuated and widely distributed spintronic device performances. These issues will eventually confuse the conclusions of academic studies and limit the practical applications of spintronics. Here we propose a polymer-assistant strain-restricted transfer technique that allows perfectly transferring the pre-patterned ferromagnetic electrodes onto channel materials without any damage and change on the properties of magnetism, interface, and channel. This technique is found productive for pursuing superior-quality spintronic devices with high controllability and reproducibility. It can also apply to various-kind (organic, inorganic, organic-inorganic hybrid, or carbon-based) and diverse-morphology (smooth, rough, even discontinuous) channel materials. This technique can be very useful for reliable device construction and will facilitate the technological transition of spintronic study.

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical manifestations, imaging and pathological features, treatment methods and prognosis of primary leiomyosarcoma of kidney, and the choice of treatment with tumor thrombus.MethodsThe clinical data of a patient with primary renal leiomyosarcoma complicated with inferior vena cava and right atrial tumor thrombus were retrospectively analyzed. Radical resection of right kidney without cardiopulmonary bypass and removal of inferior vena cava and right atrial tumor thrombus were performed. Adjuvant intravenous chemotherapy was given according to the results, and follow-up observation was made.ResultsPostoperative pathological findings were: leiomyosarcoma (right renal tumor), the size of the mass was about 12.1 cm, and no cancer was found at the incision end of the right ureter.ConclusionPrimary leiomyosarcoma of kidney is rare in clinical practice, and complication of right atrial tumor embolus is even rarer. The disease has high malignant degree and poor prognosis. The clinical manifestations and imaging examinations were non-specific, and pathological diagnosis was the gold standard. Radical surgical resection is the main treatment method at present, and it provides experience for the treatment of grade IV tumor thrombus without cardiopulmonary bypass.

In this study, we explored the growing use of metal-organic framework (MOF)-based Nanozymes in biomedical research, with a specific emphasis on their applications in stroke therapy. We have discussed the complex nature of stroke pathophysiology, highlighting the crucial role of reactive oxygen species (ROS), and acknowledging the limitations of natural enzymes in addressing these challenges. We have also discussed the role of nanozymes, particularly those based on MOFs, their structural similarities to natural enzymes, and their potential to improve reactivity in various biomedical applications. The categorization of MOF nanozymes based on enzyme-mimicking activities is discussed, and their applications in stroke therapy are explored. We have reported the potential of MOF in treating stroke by regulating ROS levels, alleviation inflammation, and reducing neuron apoptosis. Additionally, we have addressed the challenges in developing efficient antioxidant nanozyme systems for stroke treatment. The review concludes with the promise of addressing these challenges and highlights the promising future of MOF nanozymes in diverse medical applications, particularly in the field of stroke treatment.

Symbolic music understanding is a critical challenge in artificial intelligence. While traditional symbolic music representations like MIDI capture essential musical elements, they often lack the nuanced expression in music scores. Leveraging the advancements in multimodal pre-training, particularly in visual-language pre-training, we propose a groundbreaking approach: the Score Images as a Modality (SIM) model. This model integrates music score images alongside MIDI data for enhanced symbolic music understanding. We also introduce novel pre-training tasks, including masked bar-attribute modeling and score-MIDI matching. These tasks enable the SIM model to capture music structures and align visual and symbolic representations effectively. Additionally, we present a meticulously curated dataset of matched score images and MIDI representations optimized for training the SIM model. Through experimental validation, we demonstrate the efficacy of our approach in advancing symbolic music understanding.

Abstract Background The efficacy and safety of the novel immunotherapy method, intra‐cervical lymphatic immunotherapy (ICLIT), need to be investigated. Comparing it with subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT), we clarified the long‐term efficacy and safety of intra‐cervical lymphatic immunotherapy on allergic rhinitis (AR), and investigated the improvement of clinical efficacy of the booster injection at 1 year after ICLIT treatment. Methods Ninety adult patients with dust mite allergy were randomly divided into 3 groups: 30 in the SCIT group, 30 in the ILCLIT group, and 30 in ICLIT booster group. Changes in total symptom score (TSS), nasal symptom score (TNSS), ocular symptom score (TOSS) and total medication score (TMS) were evaluated in the three groups. In recent years, enhancing the overall instructional quality in higher vocational colleges and universities through robust performance management has emerged as a pivotal concern in educational discourse. This study delves into the challenges inherent in the existing personnel performance appraisal systems within these institutions, employing both questionnaires and interviews for data collection. To address issues such as the vague delineation of appraisal objectives and the diffuse focus of evaluations, we propose the development of a Balanced Scorecard (BSC) model tailored for assessing faculty performance. This model integrates the four dimensions of finance, customer satisfaction, internal processes, and learning and growth, establishing causal linkages among them. The appropriateness of performance indicators for faculty evaluation is subsequently quantified using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. Experimental validation reveals that the prevalent appraisal systems suffer from indistinct objectives and a lack of clear focus, with 41.1% of respondents indicating that the performance appraisal index system for counselors is suboptimal. Consequently, this research underscores the significant role that the construction of KPI-based performance appraisal models plays in refining personnel management practices within higher vocational colleges and universities.

Internet technology is developing rapidly, and young students, as the subjects of Internet use, are also the objects of college civic education. Based on the Internet+ era, the strategy of integrating traditional culture with the path of college Civic Education has become a necessary issue for reforming this educational direction and the purpose of this paper. Based on the information and culture dissemination mode of the Internet, this paper integrates traditional culture in exploring the path of Civic Education and puts forward an innovative method of college Civic Education. Compared with the original Civic Education method, the average satisfaction of students has increased by 6.6 percentage points, and the comparison has improved by 9.91%. The average satisfaction of teachers increased by 7.6 percentage points and by 9.84% in comparison. The percentage of students who think that the effect of Civic Education is very obvious has increased by 2.7%, the ratio of those who think it is improved has increased by 3.5%, the ratio of those who think it is generally improved has increased by 1.4%, and the ratio of those who think it has almost no improvement effect has decreased by 6.3 percentage points compared to the original. Traditional culture and Civic Education are organically integrated with the support of Internet technology, which optimizes the path of education realization, makes the path play the main role of students, strengthens the interaction in teaching, and refreshes the level of this educational work comprehensively.

With the rapid development of the Internet and multimedia, aesthetic education in colleges and universities has an unprecedented strategic opportunity in the field of innovative education and teaching methods and the construction of high-quality network teaching resources. This paper firstly constructs the evaluation system of college aesthetic education network teaching, determines the index system according to the cultivation goal and education of college aesthetic education, the index system gets 3 primary indicators and 9 secondary indicators, and revises the name and connotation of each evaluation index through the agreement survey. Using hierarchical analysis and the entropy method to assign weights to indicators and calculate the weights of corresponding indicators, the relative weight system of university aesthetic education network teaching evaluation is constructed, and the weights are used to judge the discrete degree of each indicator of the evaluation system. The results show that the average comprehensive weight value of 23 secondary indicators is 0.6809, and the comprehensive weight of “Situational image Z 64” is 0.927, which indicates that the expert group agrees on the overall opinion of the evaluation indicators of college aesthetic education network teaching and verifies the practicality of the evaluation system, and the college aesthetic education teaching should start from many aspects to promote the overall development of students. Thereby promoting students’ all-around development. This study proves that the evaluation system is indeed reasonable, reliable and stable and provides teachers and students with intelligent decisions for improvement.

Objective·To identify the gene expression program (GEP) of cancer-testis genes (CTGs) during spermatogenesis based on single-cell transcriptome data from the testis and investigate their association with the prognosis of cancer patients.Methods·Expression profiles of normal and tumor tissues were obtained from the GTEx and TCGA databases to screen CTGs. The GEP of CTGs during spermatogenesis was identified by applying the leiden clustering algorithm to testicular single-cell transcriptome data. DecoupleR was used to evaluate the activity levels of GEP and determine the cell types and stages of spermatogenesis where each GEP was active. Subsequently, DecoupleR was used to evaluate the activity levels of GEP in tumor tissues and analyze the correlation between GEP and cancer patient survival.Results·Based on the expression profiles of normal and tumor tissues from the GTEx and TCGA databases, 917 CTGs were identified. By using the expression patterns of CTGs in the testicular single-cell transcriptome data, seven GEPs were identified through the clustering algorithm. Activity level analysis revealed that GEP5 was active in the early stages of spermatogenesis, including spermatogonia stem cells, differentiating spermatogonia, and early primary spermatocytes. The distribution of GEP5-associated genes was predominantly found on the X chromosome. Additionally, survival analysis demonstrated a statistically significant negative correlation between GEP5 activity levels and patient survival in various tumors.Conclusion·During spermatogenesis, GEP5 is active in early stages, and its associated genes are primarily located on the X chromosome. In multiple tumor types, the activity level of GEP5 is closely related to patient prognosis.

Saccharification and fermentation are essential processes in the production of Baijiu and directly determine the yield of Baijiu. Eurotium critatum has a synergistic glycation effect, and the addition of Eurotium critatum affects the Daqu microbial distribution and flavor of Baijiu. In this paper, the main biochemical indexes, microflora and fermented Baijiu flavor components of Daqu added with Eurotium cristatum and traditional Daqu were compared, and the effects of Eurotium cristatum on Daqu quality and Baijiu flavor were analyzed. The results showed that the added Eurotium critatum culture had higher esterification, fermentability and saccharification power compared with the traditional Daqu, which increased by 6.70%, 125.0% and 28.35%, respectively. The functional microbial species and quantity were significantly increased, with 6.68, 2.12, 2.25 and 6.02 times more bacteria, yeast, mold and lactic acid bacteria, respectively, than those in the traditional Daqu. The types of major flavor substances and the contents of ethyl lactate and ligustrazine were significantly increased in the Baijiu fermented with the addition of Eurotium critatum compared with those fermented with traditional Daqu, which improved the quality of the Baijiu.

Curcumin is a naturally occurring hydrophobic polyphenolic compound with a rapid metabolism, poor absorption, and low stability, which severely limits its bioavailability. Here, we employed a starch–protein-based nanoparticle approach to improve the curcumin bioavailability. This study focused on synthesizing nanoparticles with a zein “core” and a carboxymethylated short-chain amylose (CSA) “shell” through anti-solvent precipitation for delivering curcumin. The zein@CSA core–shell nanoparticles were extensively characterized for physicochemical properties, structural integrity, ionic stability, in vitro digestibility, and antioxidant activity. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy indicates nanoparticle formation through hydrogen-bonding, hydrophobic, and electrostatic interactions between zein and CSA. Zein@CSA core–shell nanoparticles exhibited enhanced stability in NaCl solution. At a zein-to-CSA ratio of 1:1.25, only 15.7% curcumin was released after 90 min of gastric digestion, and 66% was released in the intestine after 240 min, demonstrating a notable sustained release effect. Furthermore, these nanoparticles increased the scavenging capacity of the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH•) free radical compared to those composed solely of zein and were essentially nontoxic to Caco-2 cells. This research offers valuable insights into curcumin encapsulation and delivery using zein@CSA core–shell nanoparticles.

Pork is one of the most widely produced and consumed meats in the world, and it is also an important source of animal protein. The continuous rise in feed prices has forced the pig industry to consider adding cost-effective alternative feed to pig diets. In this study, we aimed to explore the beneficial effects of tuna dark muscle as a nutritional supplement on the growth performance, serum lipids and antioxidant levels of Holland mini-piglets, as well as on the odor and volatile substances of pork and the gut microbiota. Two-month-old male mini-piglets (n = 24) were fed a control diet or supplemented with either 2% (LD) or 4% (HD) tuna dark muscle for 8 weeks. The use of tuna dark muscle at low and high dosages significantly increased the average daily weight gain, but it showed no significant effect on organ indices or blood lipids. In addition, dark muscle treatment significantly increased the antioxidant capacity, characterized by increased SOD and GSH-Px activities, and it decreased the content of MDA in serum. Moreover, tuna dark muscle feeding shifted the odor of rib muscle and tendon meat away from that of the control group, while similar odor patterns were observed in the longissimus dorsi muscle. Among these volatile substances, hexanal, nonanal, and heptanal increased in response to dietary tuna dark muscle and were regarded as indispensable contributors to the feeding. Furthermore, dietary tuna dark muscle modulated the gut microbiota of the piglets, increasing the abundance of beneficial bacteria such as butyric acid-producing bacteria, and reduced the abundance of harmful bacteria. The feeding strategy reported in this study not only reduces the production costs of pork but also utilizes tuna processing by-products in an environmentally friendly way.

This study used Dutch potatoes at the end of dormancy as a material to explore the impact of menthol (0.2 and 0.5 g/kg based on potato mass) treatment on sprouting inhibition and potato quality. The findings revealed that a menthol concentration of 0.5 g/kg effectively inhibited potato tuber sprouting and significantly reduced glucoside alkaloid production. After a storage period of 15 days, the sprouting percentage and glucoside alkaloid content of potatoes treated with 0.5 g/kg menthol were observed to be significantly lower at 4.17% and 68.63 mg/kg, respectively, compared to the control group which exhibited values of 100% and 282.01 mg/kg, respectively (p < 0.05). Throughout the storage period, 0.5 g/kg of menthol promoted respiration, reduced malondialdehyde production in potatoes, inhibited polyphenol oxidase activity, and slowed down tissue browning. Additionally, it mitigated the decline in starch and soluble protein content, inhibiting the accumulation of reducing sugars.

To enhance the resistant starch (RS) content of corn starch, in this work, carboxymethyl chitosan/corn starch/sodium alginate microcapsules (CMCS/CS/SA) with varying concentrations of SA in a citric acid (CA) solution were designed. As the SA concentration increased from 0.5% to 2%, the swelling of the CMCS/CS/SA microcapsule decreased from 15.28 ± 0.21 g/g to 3.76 ± 0.66 g/g at 95 °C. Comparatively, the onset, peak, and conclusion temperatures (To, Tp, and Tc) of CMCS/CS/SA microcapsules were higher than those of unencapsulated CS, indicating that the dense network structure of microcapsules reduced the contact area between starch granules and water, thereby improving thermal stability. With increasing SA concentration, the intact and dense network of CMCS/CS/SA microcapsules remained less damaged after 120 min of digestion, suggesting that the microcapsules with a high SA concentration provided better protection to starch, thereby reducing amylase digestibility. Moreover, as the SA concentration increased from 0.5% to 2%, the RS content of the microcapsules during in vitro digestion rose from 42.37 ± 0.07% to 57.65 ± 0.45%, attributed to the blocking effect of the microcapsule shell on amylase activity. This study offers innovative insights and strategies to develop functional starch with glycemic control properties, holding significant scientific and practical value in preventing diseases associated with abnormal glucose metabolism.

Abstract Background Infections caused by multidrug resistant bacterial pathogens have been recognized as major global healthcare threat to medicinal, agricultural and pharmaceutical industries by World Health Organization. In this regard, the present study was aimed to isolate endophytes from medicinal plant Polygonatum sibiricum (P. sibiricum) and to investigate their antibacterial efficacy, radical scavenging ability and chemical fingerprinting using Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrum (GC–MS) analysis. Results Two endophytic fungi Talaromyces assiutensis HJ.14 (T. assiutensis) and Fusarium oxysporum HJ.15 (F. oxysporum) were isolated and identified from the rhizomes of P. sibiricum. Among the extracts screened, ethyl acetate extract of F. oxysporum HJ.15 showed maximum antibacterial activity with the zones of inhibition ranging from 10.98 ± 0.19 to 15.66 ± 1.49 mm and the MIC values ranging from 0.24 to 1.88 µg/mL against the tested bacterial pathogens. In addition, it showed significant antioxidant activity with EC50 values of 6.21–17.97 µg/mL. Further, GC–MS analysis revealed the presence of propanoic acid ethyl ester, hexadecanoic acid methyl ester, hexadecanoic acid ethyl ester, 9-Octadecenoic acid (Z)-methyl ester, 1-Octanol, 2-Undecenal, butanoic acid, 3-hydroxy- and hexanoic acid were the most abundant compounds in the active crude extract which was responsible for the significant antibacterial and antioxidant properties. Conclusions In summary, our results clearly suggest that the F. oxysporum HJ.15 will be a promising starting point for the isolation of active antibacterial compounds with antioxidant properties.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is the most common chronic autoimmune disease worldwide. Although progress has been made in RA treatment in recent decades, remission cannot be effectively achieved for a considerable proportion of RA patients. Thus, novel potential targets for therapeutic strategies are needed. Semaphorin 5A (SEMA5A) plays a pivotal role in RA progression by facilitating pannus formation, and it is a promising therapeutic target. In this study, we sought to develop an antibody treatment strategy targeting SEMA5A and evaluate its therapeutic effect using a collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) model. We generated SYD12–12, a fully human SEMA5A blocking antibody, through phage display technology. SYD12–12 intervention effectively inhibited angiogenesis and aggressive phenotypes of RA synoviocytes in vitro and dose-dependently inhibited synovial hyperplasia, pannus formation, bone destruction in CIA mice. Notably, SYD12–12 also improved the Treg/Th17 imbalance in CIA mice. We confirmed through immunofluorescence and molecular docking that SYD12–12 integrated with the unique TSP-1 domain of SEMA5A. In conclusion, we developed and characterized a fully human SEMA5A-blocking antibody for the first time. SYD12–12 effectively alleviated disease progression in CIA mice by inhibiting pannus formation and improving the Treg/Th17 imbalance, demonstrating its potential for the RA treatment.

The load-deflection relationship is critical for the serviceability and structural durability of reinforced concrete (RC) structures strengthened with prestressed carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) plates. This study aims to investigate the impact of prestressing levels and wetting/drying cycles (WDCs) on the flexural stiffness of prestressed CFRP-strengthened RC beams. A modified flexural stiffness prediction model was proposed by incorporating prestressing levels, interfacial bond slip, and softening after WDCs. Subsequently, four-point bending tests were conducted on 11 strengthened beams with different prestressing levels and WDCs to estimate flexural behavior. The results suggest that WDCs can adversely affect the flexural stiffness of the strengthened beams, particularly for the post-cracking stiffness of the non-prestressed specimens. However, prestressed strengthening can mitigate the stiffness degradation caused by WDCs. Moreover, a finite element (FE) model utilizing a traction separation model can accurately predict flexural stiffness. Finally, the flexural stiffness was computed using both the existing and proposed models and the proposed model provides the closest prediction of the flexural stiffness for CFRP-strengthened beams under WDC and prestressing.

BackgroundCatastrophic health expenditures (CHE) can trigger illness-caused poverty and compound poverty-caused illness. Our study is the first regional comparative study to analyze CHE trends and health inequality in eastern, central and western China, exploring the differences and disparities across regions to make targeted health policy recommendations.MethodsUsing data from China's Household Panel Study (CFPS), we selected Shanghai, Henan and Gansu as representative eastern-central-western regional provinces to construct a unique 5-year CHE unbalanced panel dataset. CHE incidence was measured by calculating headcount; CHE intensity was measured by overshoot and CHE inequality was estimated by concentration curves (CC) and the concentration index (CI). A random effect model was employed to analyze the impact of household head socio-economic characteristics, the household socio-economic characteristics and household health utilization on CHE incidence across the three regions.ResultsThe study found that the incidence and intensity of CHE decreased, but the degree of CHE inequality increased, across all three regions. For all regions, the trend of inequality first decreased and then increased. We also revealed significant differences across the eastern, central and western regions of China in CHE incidence, intensity, inequality and regional differences in the CHE influencing factors. Affected by factors such as the gap between the rich and the poor and the uneven distribution of medical resources, families in the eastern region who were unmarried, use supplementary medical insurance, and had members receiving outpatient treatment were more likely to experience CHE. Families with chronic diseases in the central and western regions were more likely to suffer CHE, and rural families in the western region were more likely to experience CHE.ConclusionsThe trends and causes of CHE varied across the different regions, which requires a further tilt of medical resources to the central and western regions; improved prevention and financial support for chronic diseases households; and reform of the insurance reimbursement policy of outpatient medical insurance. On a regional basis, health policy should not only address CHE incidence and intensity, but also its inequality.

Abstract Background Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) by facilitating angiogenesis and is a promising therapeutic target for RA treatment. Herein, we generated a fully human CTGF blocking monoclonal antibody (mAb) through phage display technology. Results A single-chain fragment variable (scFv) with a high affinity to human CTGF was isolated through screening a fully human phage display library. We carried out affinity maturation to elevate its affinity for CTGF and reconstructed it into a full-length IgG1 format for further optimization. Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) data showed that full-length antibody IgG mut-B2 bound to CTGF with a dissociation constant (KD) as low as 0.782 nM. In the collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) mice, IgG mut-B2 alleviated arthritis and decreased the level of pro-inflammatory cytokines in a dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, we confirmed that the TSP-1 domain of CTGF is essential for the interaction. Additionally, the results of Transwell assays, tube formation experiments, and chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) assays showed that IgG mut-B2 could effectively inhibit angiogenesis. Conclusion The fully human mAb that antagonizes CTGF could effectively alleviate arthritis in CIA mice, and its mechanism is tightly associated with the TSP-1 domain of CTGF.

BackgroundPediatric allergic rhinoconjunctivitis has become a public concern with an increasing incidence year by year. Conventional subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) has long treatment time, high cost and poor compliance. The novel immunotherapy significantly shortens the course of treatment by directly injecting allergens into cervical lymph nodes, which can perform faster clinical benefits to children.ObjectiveBy comparing with SCIT, this study aimed to evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of intra-cervical lymphatic immunotherapy (ICLIT).MethodsThis is a prospective randomized controlled study. Abstract We propose a new Cu–Al dual-ion battery that aqueous solution composed of LiCl, CuCl and AlCl3 (LiCuAl) is used as the electrolyte, CuS is used as the cathode of aqueous aluminum ion battery for the first time and copper foil is used as the anode. The assembled Cu–Al dual-ion battery yields a reversible capacity of 538 mA h/g at 200 mA/g, and exhibits longterm cycling stability of over 200 cycles with 88.6% capacity retention at 1000 mA/g. Above excellent performance is inseparable from the three components of LiCuAl electrolyte and electrode materials. The Al-storage mechanism of CuS is proposed that the S–S bond in CuS lattice interacts with aluminum ions during the aluminum storage process. In addition, the charging and discharging process does not cause irreversible damage to the S–S bond, thus Cu–Al dual-ion battery with CuS as cathode shows great cycle stability.

Objective: This study aimed to find the best clarifying method of fermented wine by using L. lucidus Turcz and improve its quality and stability. Methods: The gelatin clarification method, bentonite clarification method, chitosan clarification method, heat treatment method, membrane filtration method and static clarification at different temperatures were used to treat the wine fermented with L. lucidus Turcz. As an evaluation index for the clarification effect, the best clarification method and related parameters were selected by combining turbidity, color, light transmittance, the content of alcohol, total acid, total sugar, caffeic acid and rosmarinic acid, and sensory scores. Results: The results showed that, after 70 ℃ water bath heat treatment for 20 min, the wine fermented with L. lucidus had the best clarity, with a turbidity of only 1.19 EBC and a light transmittance of 95.8%. The highest sensory score was 88.9 points, and the soluble solid content was 8.02%. The content of alcohol, total acid, total sugar, caffeic acid and rosmarinic acid had little change after the clarification. Moreover, the fermented wine in the present study had no turbidity during storage and showed good stability after heat treatment. Conclusion: After heat treatment, the fermented wine of L. lucidus Turcz is orange-red, transparent, odorless, good taste, and stable quality.

This article gives a review on domestic and foreign researches on the non-drug intervention for patients with perimenopausal depression published from 2012 to 2022， so as to provide a reference for clinical treatment and nursing. Currently， pharmacotherapy is the mainstay of treatment for perimenopausal depression， while many existing problems remain to be solved such as the variation in treatment effect and the difficulty in maintaining emotional stability. however，high safety and relatively low cost are the characteristics of non-drug intervention， so this article expounds on the non-drug intervention measures for perimenopausal depression， such as music therapy， dietary therapy， exercise therapy， acupuncture therapy and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation （rTMS）.

Simultaneous realization of high strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance in natural starch-based hydrogel materials is challenging. A facile method of in situ self-assembly and a freeze–thaw cycle was proposed to construct double-network nanocomposite hydrogels of debranched corn starch/polyvinyl alcohol (Gels). Rheology, chemical structure, microstructure, and mechanical property of Gels were investigated. Notably, short linear starch chains were self-assembled into nanoparticles and subsequently into 3D microaggregates, which were tightly wrapped by starch and PVA network. Compared with corn starch single-network and starch/PVA double-network hydrogels, the Gels reached up to a higher compressive strength (ca. 1095.7 kPa), and then achieved to ∼20–30-fold improvement in compressive strength. Recovery efficiency exceeded 85% after 20 successive compression loading–unloading cycle tests. Furthermore, the Gels had good biocompatibility to L929 cells. Hence, the high-performance starch hydrogels are thought to serve as a biodegradable and biocompatible material to replace synthetic hydrogels, which can broaden their application fields.

The physicochemical properties of sweet potato flour (SPF) can be modified by annealing. Native SPF was annealed in deionized water at a flour-to-water ratio of 1:3 (w/v) and temperatures of 50, 55, 60, or 65 °C for either 12 or 24 h. Annealed SPF maintained the A-type crystalline region and displayed increased relative crystallinity, increased pasting temperature, and decreased breakdown. SPF gels showed enhanced hardness together with better springiness when SPF was annealed at low temperature/long time or high temperature/short time. Annealed SPF hydrogel sheets contained larger, more uniform, and smoother pores than native ones. Noticeably, hydrogel sheets made of SPF annealed at 50 °C for 24 h exhibited advanced fracture strain from 93% to 176%. Overall, this work showed that annealing could modulate the characteristics of SPR hydrogels, which may widen the extent of applications in food industries. However, the annealing conditions need to be optimized.

Abstract Control over geometric curvature and chirality of assemblies in pure aqueous media is key to the design of responsive materials and molecular machines. Here we show how aggregate geometric curvature and chirality of motor amphiphiles could be switched from bicontinuous calabashes to nanoribbons or from vesicles to nanoribbons by modulating rotor orientation direction with dual light/heat stimuli to influence spontaneous curvature in assemblies. The photoisomerization and thermal helix inversion processes of molecular motors have been studied at the molecular level, and the transformation of supramolecular assemblies has been investigated at the microscopic level. The morphological evolution of the calabash‐shaped assembly can be kinetically captured, suggesting that the bicontinuous calabash‐shaped structures are different from the bowl‐shaped aggregates based on solvent‐driven assembly upon the addition of non‐solvent or solvent. The investigation of dual optical/thermal control of rotor orientation can provide a new strategy for tuning the geometric curvature and chirality of nanoassemblies at the nanoscale, arriving ultimately the clusteroluminescence through‐space electronic communication at responsive supramolecular nanosystems.

In recent years, with the fine exploration of carbonate reservoirs in the Qixia Formation, central Sichuan Basin, researchers have made important oil and gas discoveries in the dolomite reservoirs. However, the characteristics, genesis and controlling factors of dolomite reservoirs in the Qixia Formation in this area are still unclear. In this paper, the petrology, pore structures, physical properties and geochemical characteristics of the dolomite reservoirs in the Permian Qixia Formation in the central Sichuan Basin have been systematically studied based on a large number of cores, thin sections, physical property and geochemical tests. Furthermore, the genesis and main controlling factors of dolomite reservoirs are clarified. The study shows that the dolomites have the characteristics of small single-layer thickness and multi-layer development, and they are usually interbeded with the limestones. The reservoir types are mainly fine crystal and fine medium crystal dolomite, and the reservoir spaces include intercrystalline pores and dissolution pores (or caves). Moreover, the reservoir physical properties are characterized by medium porosity and medium to high permeability. Quasi-syngenetic dolomitization is the main origin of dolomite in the target layer, and the dolomite was slightly modified by hydrothermal solution at the end of the Maokou Formation period. The development of dolomite reservoirs in the Qixia Formation in the study area is affected by palaeogeomorphology, sedimentation and diagenesis. The granular shoal facies developed in the high parts of the paleogeomorphology provides the material basis for the formation of dolomite reservoirs. The high frequency sequence interface controls the development of dolomite reservoirs in the highstand systems tract. In addition, the quasi-syngenetic dissolution promots the development of the early secondary pores and provids an effective channel for the migration of the diagenetic fluids in the later stage. In the direction of orthogonal horizontal deposition, the dolomites have the characteristics of thin monolayer thickness, multiple sequences and are interbedded with limestone. The dolomite shoals in the study area are distributed as clumps in the plane, which has great potential for hydrocarbon exploration.

With the rapid development and commercialization of industrial genetically modified microorganisms (GMMs), public concerns regarding their potential effects are on the rise. It is imperative to promptly monitor the unintended release of viable GMMs into wastewater, the air, and the surrounding ecosystems to prevent the risk of horizontal gene transfer to native microorganisms. In this study, we have developed a method that combines propidium monoazide (PMA) with a dual-plex quantitative PCR (qPCR) approach based on TaqMan probes. This method targets the chloramphenicol-resistant gene (CmR) along with the endogenous genes D-1-deoxyxylulose 5-phosphate synthase (dxs) and chromosomal replication initiator protein (dnaA). It allows for the direct quantitative detection of viable genetically modified Escherichia coli and Corynebacterium glutamicum cells, eliminating the requirement for DNA isolation. The dual-plex qPCR targeting CmR/dxs and CmR/dnaA demonstrated excellent performance across various templates, including DNA, cultured cells, and PMA-treated cells. Repeatability and precision, defined as RSDr% and bias%, respectively, were calculated and found to fall within the acceptable limits specified by the European Network of GMO Laboratories (ENGL). Through PMA–qPCR assays, we determined the detection limits for viable chloramphenicol-resistant E. coli and C. glutamicum strains to be 20 and 51 cells, respectively, at a 95% confidence level. Notably, this method demonstrated superior sensitivity compared to Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), which has a detection limit exceeding 1000 viable cells for both GM bacterial strains. This approach offers the potential to accurately and efficiently detect viable cells of GMMs, providing a time-saving and cost-effective solution.

Abstract Background Burnout is a growing problem among medical staff worldwide and empathy has been described as an essential competence to attenuate burnout. Previous studies found job satisfaction and job commitment were affected by the empathy and associated with burnout. This study explores the effect and mechanism of empathy on burnout on medical staff and investigates the mediating role of job satisfaction and job commitment in the relationship between empathy and burnout among medical staff. Methods Based on a self-administered questionnaire which included the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) to measure burnout, 335 responses from medical staff in Tianjin City, China, yielded data on socio-demographic characteristics, empathy, burnout, job satisfaction and job commitment. Bivariate correlation and structured equation modeling (SEM) analyzed the relationships between empathy, job satisfaction, job commitment and burnout multi-group invariant analysis was used to evaluate whether the model was consistent across different type and level of hospitals and different job and employment type subgroups. Results A total of 202 (60.3%) medical staff had low level burnout, 115 (34.3%) staff had the moderate level and 18 (5.4%) staff had the high level burnout. The results of the SEM showed that empathy not only had a direct negative effect on burnout ( $$\beta =-0.401, P 0.05) and hospital type ( $$\Delta {\chi }^{2}$$ Δ χ 2 = 7.748, p > 0.05), but was inconsistent across hospital level ( $$\Delta {\chi }^{2}$$ Δ χ 2 = 42.930, p

This review aimed to (1) analyze whether the home advantage was diminished; (2) investigate the impact of the crowds' support on the match outcome and team performance; (3) explore the bias of the referee without crowds. Based on the PRISMA 2020 (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses) guidelines, this systematic review searched of literature was conducted in December 2022. The keywords related to soccer, COVID-19 and home advantage were used. The search returned 135 articles. After screening the records against set criteria, 28 articles were analyzed. Results showed that the absence of crowds would reduce the home advantage of teams, but the findings varied by country. Most leagues have evidence that without the support of the spectators, their technical, tactical and physical performances would be worse. The referee seems likely to be fairer when the spectators are absent. Therefore, crowd supports is an important factor affecting home advantage, the clubs can at least try to strengthen the home advantage and increase the winning possibility by encouraging spectators to enter the stadium or reducing the ticket price.

Although the association of elevated homocysteine level with cardiac hypertrophy has been reported, the molecular mechanisms by which homocysteine induces cardiac hypertrophy remain inadequately understood. In this study we aim to uncover the roles of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase 1 (PDE1) and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and their relationship to advance the mechanistic understanding of homocysteine-induced cardiac cell hypertrophy. H9c2 cells and primary neonatal rat cardiomyocytes are exposed to homocysteine with or without ER stress inhibitor TUDCA or PDE1-specific inhibitor Lu AF58027, or transfected with siRNAs targeting PDE1 isoforms prior to homocysteine-exposure. Cell surface area is measured and ultrastructure is examined by transmission electron microscopy. Hypertrophic markers, PDE1 isoforms, and ER stress molecules are detected by q-PCR and western blot analysis. Intracellular cGMP and cAMP are measured by ELISA. The results show that homocysteine causes the enlargement of H9c2 cells, increases the expressions of hypertrophic markers β-MHC and ANP, upregulates PDE1A and PDE1C, promotes the expressions of ER stress molecules, and causes ER dilatation and degranulation. TUDCA and Lu AF58027 downregulate β-MHC and ANP, and alleviate cell enlargement. TUDCA decreases PDE1A and PDE1C levels. Silencing of PDE1C inhibits homocysteine-induced hypertrophy, whereas PDE1A knockdown has minor effect. Both cAMP and cGMP are decreased after homocysteine-exposure, while only cAMP is restored by Lu AF58027 and TUDCA. TUDCA and Lu AF58027 also inhibit cell enlargement, downregulate ANP, β-MHC and PDE1C, and enhance cAMP level in homocysteine-exposed primary cardiomyocytes. ER stress mediates homocysteine-induced hypertrophy of cardiac cells via upregulating PDE1C expression. Cyclic nucleotide, especially cAMP, is the downstream mediator of the ER stress-PDE1C signaling axis in homocysteine-induced cell hypertrophy.

Due to the uneven distribution and large scale change of sheep in the pasture, it is not conducive to the counting and statistics of sheep in animal husbandry. The traditional target counting algorithm has low counting accuracy in the field of animal husbandry, and there are fewer sheep data sets for research. To solve these problems, the data set of sheep density estimation was established, and a method of grassland sheep number estimation based on multi-scale residual visual information fusion Network (MRVIFNet) was proposed. This method extracts multi-scale features of sheep targets by using multiple parallel hole convolutions with different hole rates, and designs a depth neural network that is more suitable for live counting of sheep, so as to reduce the grid effect caused by hole convolution and better adapt to multi-scale changes of sheep. In the sheep density data set, the method obtained the lowest mean absolute error (MAE) and root mean square error (RMSE). In addition, a convolutional neural network model based on view branch sharing is also studied. Compared with the five popular methods, this method can achieve better performance. It is applied to solve the problem of pedestrian scale change and chaotic distribution in complex scenes; The performance of this method is better than that of comparison method, and the application results in actual scenarios verify the effectiveness of this method.

In our initial study on the high-voltage 5 V cobalt-free spinel LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 (LNMO) cathode, we discovered a severe delamination issue in the laminates when cycled at a high upper cut-off voltage (UCV) of 4.95 V, especially when a large cell format was used. This delamination problem prompted us to investigate further by studying the transition metal (TM) dissolution mechanism of cobalt-free LNMO cathodes, and as a comparison, some cobalt-containing lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxides (NMC) cathodes, as the leachates from the soaking experiment might be the culprit for the delamination. Unlike other previous reports, we are interested in the intrinsic stability of the cathode in the presence of a baseline Gen2 electrolyte consisting of 1.2 M of LiPF6 in ethylene carbonate/ethyl methyl carbonate (EC/EMC), similar to a storage condition. The electrode laminates (transition metal oxides, transition metal oxides, TMOs, coated on an Al current collector with a loading level of around 2.5 mAh/cm2) or the TMO powders (pure commercial quality spinel LNMO, NMC, etc.) were stored in the baseline solution, and the transition metal dissolution was studied through nuclear magnetic resonance, such as 1H NMR, 19F NMR, scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Significant electrolyte decomposition was observed and could be the cause that leads to the TM dissolution of LNMO. To address this TM dissolution, additives were introduced into the baseline electrolyte, effectively alleviating the issue of TM dissolution. The results suggest that the observed delamination is caused by electrolyte decompositions that lead to etching, and additives such as lithium difluorooxalato borate and p-toluenesulfonyl isocyanate can alleviate this issue by forming a firm cathode electrolyte interface. This study provides a new perspective on cell degradation induced by electrode/electrolyte interactions under storage conditions.

Abstract In order to investigate the thermal decomposition kinetics and mechanism of nitrocellulose (NC) based nitramine explosives nanocomposite energetic materials, this work prepares NC/RDX (cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine), NC/HMX (cyclotetramethylenetetranitramine), and NC/CL‐20 (hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane) composites by a combined sol‐gel and the freeze‐drying technology. The structure is systematically investigated and the results reveal that the explosive particles are dispersed, filled, or embedded homogenously in the gel matrix of NC, thereby restricting the crystal growth of RDX, HMX, CL‐20 particles to coarse and achieving submicron/nanometer. The thermal analysis of composites exhibits much lower peak temperature compared with raw explosive crystal, furthermore, the activation energy (Ea) of composites is also lower than that of both NC and explosives. Hence, the unique structure of NC gel matrix embedded explosives inside demonstrated different mechanism of decomposition. Concretely, the rupture of the H‐NCO = O bond in the cross‐linked structure is detected firstly, subsequently, the macromolecular chains’ scission site of gel firstly occurs at ‐C‐O‐C‐ in the ring, and then the scission of ‐NO2 (from NC or explosive crystals) bonds happened. Hence, this study may provide promising fabrication strategy and basic theory for the application of NC‐based nanocomposite energetics in high‐energy propellants and explosives.

Johne's disease is an insidious infectious disease of ruminants caused by Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP). Johne's disease can have important implications for animal welfare and risks causing economic losses in affected herds due to reduced productivity, premature culling and replacement, and veterinary costs. Despite the limited accuracy of diagnostic tools, testing and culling is the primary option for controlling Johne's disease in beef herds. However, evidence to inform specific test and cull strategies is lacking. In this study, a stochastic, continuous-time agent-based model was developed to investigate Johne's disease and potential control options in a typical western Canadian cow-calf herd. The objective of this study was to compare different testing and culling scenarios that included varying the testing method and frequency as well as the number and risk profile of animals targeted for testing using the model. The relative effectiveness of each testing scenario was determined by the simulated prevalence of cattle shedding MAP after a 10-year testing period. A second objective was to compare the direct testing costs of each scenario to identify least-cost options that are the most effective at reducing within-herd disease prevalence. Whole herd testing with individual PCR at frequencies of 6 or 12 months were the most effective options for reducing disease prevalence. Scenarios that were also effective at reducing prevalence but with the lowest total testing costs included testing the whole herd with individual PCR every 24 months and testing the whole herd with pooled PCR every 12 months. The most effective method with the lowest annual testing cost per unit of prevalence reduction was individual PCR on the whole herd every 24 months. Individual PCR testing only cows that had not already been tested 4 times also ranked well when considering both final estimated prevalence at 10 years and cost per unit of gain. A more in-depth economic analysis is needed to compare the cost of testing to the cost of disease, taking into account costs of culling, replacements and impacts on calf crops, and to determine if testing is an economically attractive option for commercial cow-calf operations.

Abstract Aim To explore resilience and associated factors in spousal caregivers of patients with cancer. Design An integrative review. Methods This review used the standardized critical appraisal instruments developed by the Joanna Briggs Institute and was conducted by researching the electronic databases of Cochrane, CINAHL, ProQuest, Science Direct, PubMed, Scopus, EBSCO and Google Scholar. The articles were published in English with full text from January 2010 to January 2020. Results According to data retrieval, 26 articles were finally selected. From this review, resilience was typically measured by using exact resilience scales (i.e. Connor‐Davidson or Wagnild Resilience Scales) or using other variables to indicate either more positive psychological outcomes or less negative psychological outcomes. For factors associated with resilience, these were classified as individual internal and external factors. Internal factors included caregiver burden, psychological distress, coping strategies and other factors, whereas social support, couple interaction, patient health status and other parameters were considered external factors. Conclusions Resilience plays an important role in promoting positive adaptation in spite of adversity among the spousal caregivers of patients with cancer. Due to the uniqueness of resilience among spousal caregivers, ways to assess resilience and identify its associated factors deserve more attention and careful consideration.

Hydrological fluctuations accelerate biodiversity loss and damage riparian ecosystems surrounding dams and reservoirs. Restoration of vegetation is urgently required in such highly impacted buffer zones. However, it is not known how the nonstructural carbohydrate (NSC) and organic acid concentrations of prominent woody plants such as Salix matsudana would alter under the hydrological regime described in the literature. The study aims to investigate the tap and lateral roots of S. matsudana in the Three Gorges Reservoir, as well as the NSC and organic acid metabolism of these roots. Three groups of two-year-old S. matsudana saplings were planted in this experiment: control (SS), moderate submergence (MS), and deep submergence (DS) at altitudes of 175 m, 170 m, and 165 m, respectively. The results indicated that hydrological regimes restrained the height of S. matsudana with less impact on diameter at P tartaric acid > oxalic acid. The tartaric acid content of the lateral roots and the total roots was significantly higher in MS than in SS1. Conversely, the oxalic acid and malic acid levels in tap roots, lateral roots, and total roots were higher in DS than in SS2. There were strong Pearson's correlations between root starch and NSC with tartaric and malic acids; these correlations ranged from −0.898

The enrichment law of tight sandstone gas in the Upper Triassic Xujiahe Formation in the Sichuan Basin has not been fully revealed. In this study, the controlling effect of source-reservoir assemblage on gas accumulation in the Xujiahe Formation was systematically investigated. The results show that pores and fractures are developed in the tight sandstone reservoirs of the Xujiahe Formation. The main pore types are intragranular dissolved and intergranular pores. The quality of sandstone reservoirs in the Xujiahe Formation is controlled by sedimentation, diagenesis and tectonic processes. Underwater distributary river channels and estuary bars are favorable microfacies for reservoir development, and chlorite cemented facies and dissolution-kaolinite cemented facies are the most favorable diagenetic facies. In addition, the natural gas composition and carbon isotope characteristics of the Xujiahe Formation are significantly different in different intervals of the same gas field and the same interval of adjacent gas fields. This shows that the natural gas has no obvious vertical mixing and lateral migration, and it has the distribution characteristics of “local enrichment”. Then, the natural gas will be preferentially charged in the feldspar lithic sandstone and feldspar quartz sandstone with large thickness and good physical properties by means of short-range migration. According to the research, the hydrocarbon supply capacity of the single layer in each interval is weak, and it leads to the low filling degree of the gas reservoir and the insufficient separation of gas and water. On the whole, four sets of extra-source “lower generation and upper storage” assemblages and two sets of “self-generation and self-storage” source-reservoir assemblages are developed in the Xujiahe Formation. The development scale of natural gas is mainly controlled by the type of source-reservoir combination, and the areas with close source-reservoir contact and high hydrocarbon generation intensity are high-quality reservoir development areas.

This article presents a power system joint optimization generation regulation method based on the improved balance optimizer, which takes the five factors of power system network loss, voltage offset, generation cost, fuel cost, and comprehensive pollution emission as the objective function and takes the internal power balance of the system, each generator set, generation capacity, generation flow, and up and down climbing as the constraints. Fully considering the current energy-saving development objectives and the impact of economic dispatching, taking stable and safe operation as the core, the power generation dispatching model is established by improving the balance optimizer. The model realizes the maximum power generation with the lowest energy consumption parameters and transitions from the original power generation energy consumption of the power system to the best energy-saving power generation energy consumption so that the power value of the system reaches the target balance and completes efficient dispatching. Simulation experiments show that the proposed method can ensure the most reasonable power load in both summer and winter. The average load in summer and winter is reduced from 254.78/mw to 205.36/mw, down about 19.39%, which can ensure the power generation stability of the power system. The average power generation cost after dispatching is 129,920 $/h, which is significantly improved by comparing with 131,225 $/h before dispatching and can realize certain environmental benefits.

The electricity sector has encountered several economic challenges in recent years. Increasing the expense of fossil fuels and environmental legislation such as the Kyoto Protocol and the Low Carbon Transition Plan have compelled governments to use renewable energy sources (RESs) more widely. In the proposed research, the dynamic economic load dispatch problem has been solved using improved chimp optimizer algorithm. The test systems consisting of 6, 7 and 10-unit generators has been taken into consideration along with significant contribution of renewable energy sources for effective research studies. The test systems has been evaluated for different cases considering renewable energy sources and electric vehicles using proposed algorithms. Experimentally, it has been observed that proposed optimizer yields better results as compared to other recently proposed optimizers.

In order to reduce the digestion rate of starch in human body and improve the content of slowly digestible starch (SDS) and resistant starch (RS), millimeter calcium alginate beads encapsulated with different proportions of recrystallized starch were constructed in this study. First, we prepared recrystallized starch (RS3) by debranching waxy corn starch and retrogradation, and then encapsulated RS3 in calcium alginate beads by the ionic gel method. The microstructure of the beads was observed by scanning electron microscope, and the gel texture properties, swelling properties, and in vitro digestibility of the beads were studied. The results showed that the beads after cooking still maintained high hardness and chewiness, and the swelling power and solubility of the beads were lower than that of native starch. Compared with native starch, the content of rapidly digestible starch (RDS) in beads decreased, while the content of SDS and RS increased. The sample with the highest content of RS is RS31@Alginate1, whose content of RS is 70.10%, 52.11 times higher than that of waxy corn starch and 1.75 times higher than that of RS3. RS3 encapsulated in calcium alginate beads has a good encapsulation effect, and the content of SDS and RS is greatly increased. This study has important implications for reducing the digestion rate of starch and regulating the health of people with diabetes and obesity.
