Perovskite‐based tandem solar cells have demonstrated high potential for overcoming the Shockley–Queisser limit. Routine bandgap (RBG, ≈1.55 eV) perovskites have achieved a perfect balance between efficiency and stability. The narrow bandgap (NBG) candidates for RBG perovskite‐based tandem devices are very limited. Lead sulfide (PbS) colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) are a promising partner due to their broad absorption spectra. However, the efficiency of RBG perovskite/QD tandem devices still lags behind. Herein, efficient RBG perovskite/QDs four‐terminal tandem photovoltaics are successfully implemented through synergistic enhancement from transparent electrode and band alignment Engineering. For tin doped indium oxide (ITO) electrodes, their conductivity and near‐infrared transparency are leveraged using magnetron sputtering and reactive plasma deposition (RPD) methods. Furthermore, instead of traditional zinc oxide, aluminum‐doped zinc oxide (AZO) is developed to enhance the carrier extraction capability of PbS QD bottom cells. Based on the above enhancements, ≈0.95 eV PbS solar cells achieve a record efficiency of 14.14%. Integrated with the front semi‐transparent perovskite solar cells, the four‐terminal perovskite/QD tandem device reaches a record efficiency of 26.12%. This article addresses the identification problem of the input nonlinear closed-loop system with unknown time delay (INCTD). An identification algorithm of the INCTD system which combines the wavelet packet decomposition (WPD), the variance Gaussian kernel function (VGKF) and the grouped method of data handling (GMDH) network is proposed. The data collected by the sensor is decomposed into intrinsic mode function with different nonlinear characteristics using WPD. The GMDH network is applied to mine bidirectional strong nonlinear relationship between input and output data. The VGKF criterion selects the optimal complexity model to enhance the extrapolation performance, and further improves the identification accuracy. Thus, the WPD-GMDH-VGKF identification algorithm is derived. The numerical simulation result verifies that the WPD-GMDH-VGKF identification method can effectively identify the INCTD system, and it is superior to GMDH and WPD-GMDH in terms of identification accuracy. Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and near-surface ozone (O3) are the main atmospheric pollutants in China. Long-term exposure to high ozone concentrations adversely affects human health. It is of great significance to systematically analyze the spatiotemporal evolution mechanism and health effects of ozone pollution. Based on the ozone data of 91 monitoring stations in the Central Plains Urban Agglomeration from 2017 to 2020, the research used Kriging method and spatial autocorrelation analysis to investigate the spatiotemporal variations of ozone concentration. Additionally, the study assessed the health effects of ozone on the population using the population exposure risk model and exposure-response relationship model. The results indicated that: (1) The number of premature deaths caused by ozone pollution in the warm season were 37,053 at 95% confidence interval (95% CI: 28,190–45,930) in 2017, 37,685 (95% CI: 28,669–46,713) in 2018, and 37,655 (95% CI: 28,647–46,676) in 2019. (2) The ozone concentration of the Central Plains urban agglomeration showed a decreasing trend throughout the year and during the warm season from 2017 to 2020, there are two peaks monthly, one is June, and the other is September. (3) In the warm season, the high-risk areas of population exposure to ozone in the Central Plains Urban Agglomeration were mainly concentrated in urban areas. In general, the population exposure risk of the south is lower than that of the north. The number of premature deaths attributed to ozone concentration during the warm season has decreased, but some southern cities such as Xinyang and Zhumadian have also seen an increase in premature deaths. China has achieved significant results in air pollution control, but in areas with high ozone concentrations and high population density, the health burden caused by air pollution remains heavy, and stricter air pollution control policies need to be implemented. Background: We are making progress in the fight against health-related misinformation, but mass participation and active engagement are far from adequate. Focusing on pre-professional medical students with above-average medical knowledge, our study examined whether and how third-person perceptions (TPP), which hypothesize that people tend to perceive media messages as having a greater effect on others than on themselves, would motivate their actions against misinformation. Methods: We collected the cross-sectional data through a self-administered paper-and-pencil survey of 1,500 medical students in China during April 2022. Results: Structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis, showed that TPP was negatively associated with medical students' actions against digital misinformation, including rebuttal of misinformation and promotion of corrective information. However, self-efficacy and collectivism served as positive predictors of both actions. Additionally, we found professional identification failed to play a significant role in influencing TPP, while digital misinformation self-efficacy was found to broaden the third-person perceptual gap and collectivism tended to reduce the perceptual bias significantly. Conclusions: Our study contributes both to theory and practice. It extends the third-person effect theory by moving beyond the examination of restrictive actions and toward the exploration of corrective and promotional actions in the context of misinformation., It also lends a new perspective to the current efforts to counter digital misinformation; involving pre-professionals (in this case, medical students) in the fight. Accurate real-time displacement field reconstruction based on limited measurement points is crucial for spacecraft on-orbit monitoring. This study proposes a data-driven displacement field reconstruction method called stacked convolutional autoencoder with denoising autoencoder and filter. Precise reconstruction of the structural displacement from a small number of local strains was made possible by the two primary components of the method: low-resolution displacement field reconstruction and result optimization. Given the significant imbalance between the limited strain information input and the structural displacement field output, a deep learning model with multiple deconvolution layers was built in the low-resolution displacement field reconstruction part using the layer-wise training property of a stacked autoencoder and the sparse mapping property of a convolutional neural network. The result optimization part utilized a denoising autoencoder and a linear density filter to effectively alleviate the checkerboard phenomenon and displacement field discontinuity caused by the deconvolution operation. The results of the case study indicate that the proposed method can accurately reconstruct the structural displacement field of both simple regular geometric structures and irregular geometric structures with complex boundaries without prior information. The balance between ubiquitination and deubiquitination is instrumental in the regulation of protein stability and maintenance of cellular homeostasis. The deubiquitinating enzyme, ubiquitin-specific protease 36 (USP36), a member of the USP family, plays a crucial role in this dynamic equilibrium by hydrolyzing and removing ubiquitin chains from target proteins and facilitating their proteasome-dependent degradation. The multifaceted functions of USP36 have been implicated in various disease processes, including cancer, infections, and inflammation, via the modulation of numerous cellular events, including gene transcription regulation, cell cycle regulation, immune responses, signal transduction, tumor growth, and inflammatory processes. The objective of this review is to provide a comprehensive summary of the current state of research on the roles of USP36 in different pathological conditions. By synthesizing the findings from previous studies, we have aimed to increase our understanding of the mechanisms underlying these diseases and identify potential therapeutic targets for their treatment. The implementation of a laparoscope-holding robot in minimally invasive surgery enhances the efficiency and safety of the operation. However, the extra robot control task can increase the cognitive load on surgeons. A suitable interface may simplify the control task and reduce the surgeon load. Foot interfaces are commonly used for commanding laparoscope-holding robots, with two control strategies available: decoupled control permits only one Cartesian axis actuation, known as decoupled commands; hybrid control allows for both decoupled commands and multiple axes actuation, known as coupled commands. This paper aims to determine the optimal control strategy for foot interfaces by investigating two common assumptions in the literature: (1) Decoupled control is believed to result in better predictability of the final laparoscopic view orientation, and (2) Hybrid control has the efficiency advantage in laparoscope control. Our user study with 11 experienced and trainee surgeons shows that decoupled control has better predictability than hybrid control, while both approaches are equally efficient. In addition, using two surgery-like tasks in a simulator, users’ choice of decoupled and coupled commands is analysed based on their level of surgical experience and the nature of the movement. Results show that trainee surgeons tend to issue more commands than the more experienced participants. Single decoupled commands were frequently used in small view adjustments, while a mixture of coupled and decoupled commands was preferred in larger view adjustments. An adaptive neural network fault‐tolerant control method is proposed for the non‐affine multi‐agent systems with actuator failure and input saturation. Through the transformation of the original multi‐agent systems, an equivalent model is proposed. Considering that the signal input of multi‐agent systems is limited, this article will solve the input saturation problem. But in a real system, the actuator would probably fail. Therefore, a fault tolerant control algorithm is proposed to solve the fault problem in the systems. In this article, an adaptive distributed controller is designed to eliminate the uncertainty of the systems. At the same time, the integral barrier Lyapunov function is selected to verify the stability. Finally, a simulation example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Lanthanide ions doped in perovskite (LIDP) nanocrystals (NCs) provide an effective way to utilize the emission of lanthanide metals in a solution‐processable way, combining the theoretical photoluminance quantum yield (PLQY) of ≈200%. To utilize advantages, LIDP‐NCs have inspired studies exploring the fundamental physics of energy transfer, including the up‐conversion or down‐conversion process, and the optoelectronic applications of solar cells and white light‐emitting didoes. This review broadens the scope of LIDP nanocrystal matrix semiconductors in electroluminescence devices in the near‐infrared (NIR) range (>900 nm). A research is summarized on the synergistic effect of lanthanide ions and perovskite matrix in the near‐infrared region, and discuss from the perspective of fabrication of lanthanide‐based electroluminescent devices using perovskite materials as the matrix. The multiple optical transitions, bandgap tunability, and quantum‐cutting effect to provide a tutorial on understanding LIDP‐NCs are started. The details of synthesizing LIDP materials and aim to lay the foundation for preparing NIR electroluminescent devices with high efficiency and application value are then illustrated. The scientific issues that limit the performance of LIDP NCs‐based electroluminescent devices and discuss the potential strategies for the future development of LIDP material are focused on. Issue Addressed: This study assessed Australian adults' attitudes towards government actions to protect children from digital marketing of unhealthy food and drink products. Methods: An online survey was undertaken by Australian adults aged 18–64 recruited via two national panels in December 2019 (N = 2044). Results: Most respondents (69%) agreed the Government should protect children from unhealthy food and drink marketing and advertising broadly. Those who agreed most commonly indicated children should be protected up to age 16 (34%) or 18 (24%). There was widespread support for government actions to stop unhealthy food and drink marketing on digital platforms (e.g., internet sites) (68%–69%) and various digital marketing techniques (e.g., advertising by brands on social media) (56%–71%). A total ban on targeting unhealthy food and drink marketing to children online received the highest level of support (76%). Most respondents (81%) disagreed unhealthy food and drink companies should be able to collect children's personal information for marketing purposes. Support for examined actions was generally higher among older adults, more educated adults and more frequent internet users, lower among males, and similar between parents and non‐parents. Conclusions: There is public perception that the government is responsible for protecting children, well into adolescence, from unhealthy food and drink marketing broadly. Widespread public support extends to specific actions to reduce children's exposure to digital marketing of unhealthy food and drink products. Generally, researchers focus on the great negative magnetocaloric effect (NMCE) rather than the positive magnetocaloric effect (PMCE) in Mn3GaC. Here, we prepared Mn3Ga1−xTbxC composites with a partial substitution of Ga by Tb. Tb doping expands the canted-ferromagnetic phase (CFM) between the anti-ferromagnetic and ferromagnetic phase in Mn3Ga0.97Tb0.03C. The CFM phase can be as a boundary to separate the NMCE from PMCE. It is possible to combine the NMCE and PMCE for refrigeration. Compared with NMCE in Mn3GaC, NMCE–PMCE combination in Mn3Ga0.97Tb0.03C displays a much larger operating temperature range without loss of magnetic entropy changes. Therefore, the NMCE–PMCE combination is valuable for improving the operating temperature range of magnetocaloric effect materials. It also provides a new idea for refrigeration applications. We report three sets of newly identified late Mesoproterozoic mafic intrusions in the southwestern Yangtze Block, China. Secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) baddeleyite and zircon U-Pb analyses yield crystallization ages of ca. 1.15 Ga for the Boka dolerites, ca. 1.07 Ga for the Lanniping gabbros, and ca. 1.06 Ga for the Tong'an mafic dikes. These are tholeiitic to alkaline rocks with enriched mid-ocean-ridge basalt (E-MORB)-like trace-element patterns and superchondritic εNd(t) values, indicating a partial melting origin from the asthenospheric mantle. These results, along with existing data, define two episodes of late Mesoproterozoic, rift-related mafic magmatism in the southwestern Yangtze Block: an early phase at 1.17-1.14 Ga and a late phase at 1.07-1.02 Ga. Initiation of the two episodes of extensional events in the southwestern Yangtze Block coincided with high-grade Grenville-aged metamorphism in Hainan Island and possible early collision of Cathaysia with the southwestern Yangtze Block, indicating an impactogen model. Therefore, we interpret the observed two episodes to have resulted from local collision between the southwestern Yangtze Block and the Cathaysia Block (including Hainan Island), which was possibly a part of western Laurentia during the assembly of Rodinia. As the basic unit and micro-site of grassroots governance, rural communities are facing many cultural obstacles that restrict rural modernization. Focused on rural communities, this study sorts out the requirements of Chinese-style modernization on rural communities and the actual performance of coping with the cultural obstacles of Chinese-style modernization. It finds that the causes of these cultural dilemmas are mainly due to the disconnection of the system in the process of modernization, the deviation between concept penetration and the actual situation. On this basis, this paper proposes the corresponding cultural solution strategies. These strategies start from the top-level design of the national system, cultivate the concept of modern cultural inheritance, construct a modern cultural development system, shape a modern cultural integration mechanism, and improve modern cultural governance and service models. A robust GNSS/UWB integration algorithm is proposed for the indoor-outdoor cross region to control the influences of observation outliers of both GNSS and UWB. An important attempt in this paper is to re-estimate the uncertainty of the virtual observations derived from the kinematic model predicted information, and the GNSS satellites as well as the UWB anchors observations by using variance component estimation. Due to the correlations of the derived observations from estimated state parameters at previous epoch, a bi-factor inflated covariance model is employed to reduce the influences of the predicted correlated observations. Accordingly, a signal variance inflation factor is employed for independent measurements. Semi-simulation and field tests are carried out to validate and analyze the performance of the proposed algorithms in terms of positioning accuracy. The simulation demonstrates that the proposed algorithm improves the positioning accuracy when outliers exist in the measurements and the correlated predicted information. The field test results show that the positioning accuracy by using the proposed methods is improved by about 56% in average of E, N, and U components compared to that of the least squares positioning strategy, and about 40% in the average of E, N, and U components compared to that of integrated positioning by EKF without companying the variance component estimation. This paper considers the identification of feedback nonlinear systems with unknown time delay (FNTD) by the chaotic decreasing weight sparrow search algorithm (CWSSA). The CWSSA algorithm uses the improved circle chaos to map the sparrow population, which avoids the problems of clustering and low coverage in the solution space of the initial solution. Thus, the global search ability and convergence speed of the algorithm are improved. By introducing a linear decreasing weight, the risk of the sparrow search algorithm being prone to premature maturity is reduced, and the oscillation phenomenon that is easy to occur near the global optimal solution in the later stage of the algorithm is avoided. Using the search capability of CWSSA and the iterative identification technology, all parameters and the unknown delay of the FNTD system are estimated simultaneously. Finally, the identification results of CWSSA, SSA and PSO are compared through a numerical example. The results show that CWSSA is superior to SSA and PSO in terms of convergence speed and estimation accuracy. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the differences in the accuracy of immediate intraoral, immediate extraoral, and delayed dental implant placement with surgical guides (static computer‐aided implant surgery) in patients treated with mandibular reconstruction. Methods: This was a retrospective study. The patients were divided into three groups: immediate intraoral placement (IIO), immediate extraoral placement (IEO), and delayed placement (DEL). Four variables were used to compare the planned and actual implant positions: angular deviation, three‐dimensional (3D) deviation at the entry point of the implant, 3D deviation at the apical point of the implant, and depth deviation. Results: The angular deviation was significantly higher in the IIO group than in the IEO (p <.05) and DEL (p <.05) groups. The 3D deviation at the entry point was significantly higher in the IIO group than in the IEO (p <.05) and DEL (p <.01) groups. The 3D deviation at the apical point was significantly higher in the IIO group than in the IEO (p <.01) and DEL (p <.01) groups. The depth deviation was significantly higher in the IIO group than in the IEO (p <.05) and DEL (p <.05) groups. There was no statistical difference between the IEO and DEL group in angular and 3D deviation. Conclusion: With surgical guides, among the different approaches for implant placement, delayed implant placement remains the most accurate approach for patients treated with mandibular reconstruction. The development of nanoporous organic polymers with cycloaliphatic components for effective benzene (Bz) and cyclohexane (Cy) adsorption/separation poses a significant challenge. This work focuses on synthesizing NOP-Ad-1, a nanoporous organic polymer derived from a Friedel–Crafts reaction between cycloaliphatic 1,3-dibromadantane and aromatic hexaphenylbenzene. At 298 K and P/P0 = 0.95, NOP-Ad-1 can uptake 989 mg g−1 benzene and 441 mg g−1 cyclohexane. Moreover, as the benzene vapor ratio increased from 20% to 80%, the Bz/Cy selectivity of NOP-Ad-1 gradually decreased from 1.75 to 1.24. In advanced liver fibrosis (LF), macrophages maintain the inflammatory environment in the liver and accelerate LF deterioration by secreting proinflammatory cytokines. However, there is still no effective strategy to regulate macrophages because of the difficulty and complexity of macrophage inflammatory phenotypic modulation and the insufficient therapeutic efficacy caused by the extracellular matrix (ECM) barrier. Here, AC73 and siUSP1 dual drug‐loaded lipid nanoparticle is designed to carry milk fat globule epidermal growth factor 8 (MFG‐E8) (named MUA/Y) to effectively inhibit macrophage proinflammatory signals and degrade the ECM barrier. MFG‐E8 is released in response to the high reactive oxygen species (ROS) environment in LF, transforming macrophages from a proinflammatory (M1) to an anti‐inflammatory (M2) phenotype and inducing macrophages to phagocytose collagen. Collagen ablation increases AC73 and siUSP1 accumulation in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) and inhibits HSCs overactivation. Interestingly, complete resolution of liver inflammation, significant collagen degradation, and HSCs deactivation are observed in methionine choline deficiency (MCD) and CCl4 models after tail vein injection of MUA/Y. Overall, this work reveals a macrophage‐focused regulatory treatment strategy to eliminate LF progression at the source, providing a new perspective for the clinical treatment of advanced LF. The legs of insects play an important role in their daily behaviour, especially reproduction. Entomologists have performed much research on the role of the leg in different behaviours of beetles, an important group in the insect family, but relatively little has been done to study the ultrastructure and transcriptome of their legs. Hence, we systematically studied the ultrastructure and gene expression of the leg of G. cantor, a polygynous beetle, and compared its male and female diversity. In this study, we found the fore-leg, mid-leg and hind-leg of the female were significantly longer than those of the male. From the perspective of intuitive structural differences, we also compared the ultrastructures of the adhesion structure (tarsal) of males and females. The tarsal functional structure of the adult leg mainly includes sensilla and an adhesion structure. The sensilla on the tarsal joint mainly include sensilla chaetica (SCh II, SCh III) and sensilla trichodea (ST II). The adhesion structure includes disc-shaped bristles (di), lanceolate bristles (la), serrated bristles (se), spatula-shaped bristles (spl) and mushroom-shaped bristles (mus). Although there was no significant difference in sensillum distribution or type between males and females, there were significant differences in the distribution and species of adhesion structures between the fore-leg, mid-leg, and hind-leg of the same sex and between males and females. Therefore, different adhesion structures play different roles in various behaviours of beetles. On the other hand, the transcriptome results of male and female legs were screened for a subset of olfaction- and mechanics-related genes. We discovered that the male leg showed upregulation of 1 odorant binding protein (OBP), 2 Olfactory receptors (ORs) and 2 Chemosensory proteins (CSPs). Meanwhile, the female leg showed upregulation of 3 OBPs, 1 OR, 1 Gustatory receptor (GR) and 3 Mechanosensitive proteins (MSPs). An in-depth examination of the ultrastructure and molecular composition of the legs can elucidate its function in the reproductive behavior of G. cantor. AbstractQuantile regression is increasingly encountered in modern big data applications due to its robustness and flexibility. We consider the scenario of learning the conditional quantiles of a specific target population when the available data may go beyond the target and be supplemented from other sources that possibly share similarities with the target. A crucial question is how to properly distinguish and use useful information from other sources to improve the quantile estimation and inference at the target. We develop transfer learning methods for high-dimensional quantile regression by detecting informative sources whose models are similar to the target and using them to improve the target model. We show that under reasonable conditions, the detection of the informative sources based on sample splitting is consistent. Compared to the naive estimator with only the target data, the transfer learning estimator achieves a much lower error rate as a function of the sample sizes, the signal-to-noise ratios, and the similarity measures among the target and the source models. Extensive simulation studies demonstrate the superiority of our proposed approach. We apply our methods to tackle the problem of detecting hard-landing risk for flight safety and show the benefits and insights gained from transfer learning of three different types of airplanes: Boeing 737, Airbus A320, and Airbus A380. Summary: In this paper, for the nonholonomic tractor‐trailer system with slipping and skidding, a full state‐triggering implementation of a tracking controller is proposed. Trailers are an important part, and their knowledge is crucial for the safety and control of the vehicle. Without considering system performance constraints, trailers may deviate from their expected position, leading to collisions. Therefore, there is still great interest in addressing the constraint control issues that arise in modern technologies related to network communication. Based on the backstepping method, bounded measurement errors are introduced into the continuous sampling controller considering intra‐vehicle communications. Then two neural networks are used to model unknown dynamics of the system with event sampling inputs, thereby decoupling the design of the control inputs. Finally, we prove the input‐to‐state‐like stability of a continuously sampled controller, and the given event execution control law can ensure the boundedness of measurement errors. Multibeam echosounders, as the most commonly used bathymetric equipment, have been widely applied in acquiring seabed topography and underwater sonar images. However, when interference occurs in the water column, traditional bottom detection methods may fail, resulting in discontinuities in the bathymetry and distortion in the sonar images. To solve this problem, we propose an anti-interference bottom detection method based on deep learning models. First, the variation differences of backscatter strengths at different incidence angles and the failure conditions of traditional methods were analyzed. Second, the details of our deep learning models are explained. And these models were trained using samples in the specular reflection, scatter reflection, and high-incidence angle regions, respectively. Third, the bottom detection procedures of the along-track and across-track water column data using the trained models are provided. In the experiments, multibeam data with strong interferences in the water column were selected. The bottom detection results of the along-track water column data at incidence angles of 0°, 35°, and 60° and the across-track ping data validated the effectiveness of our method. By comparison, our method acquired the correct bottom position when the traditional methods had inaccurate or even no detection results. Feature extraction and matching are the basic procedures of the so-called Visual Odometer (VO), Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) and many other image processing algorithms. Oriented features from accelerated segment test (FAST) and rotated binary robust independent elementary features (ORB) algorithm are widely used since they are computationally faster. In this paper, we proposed a method to generate a value for a feature, the value is called signature. In the matching step, we only compute Hamming distances of descriptors with the same signatures. Hence, the matching time is shortened. Compared with the original ORB algorithm, features to be matched dropped 69.63% on TUM datasets and 85.7% on VGG datasets by adopting our strategy. In addition, the precision is above 85% on both VGG and TUM datasets. We design a customized hardware architecture for ORB feature extraction and matching based on the proposed method. The hardware structure is implemented on Xilinx ZCU102 evaluation board. The clock frequency is set to 150 MHz. Our Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) system achieves 193 fps on 1 2 8 0 × 7 2 0 images with 1984 features on average and 314 fps on 6 4 0 × 4 8 0 images with 700 features on average, which is more efficient compared to the state-of-the-art works. Meta-heuristic algorithms have the advantages of resilience, global optimization capacity, and coding flexibility, making them helpful in tackling difficult optimization issues. The enhanced wind-driven optimization (CHTWDO) that was proposed in this paper coupled the chaotic map approach and the hyperbolic tangent with the T-distribution mutation method. The initial air particles are evenly distributed in the system space through a tent mapping strategy. Meanwhile, the variation probability of the hyperbolic tangent model and the T-distribution variation method are used to improve the comprehensive performance of the algorithm. In this way, the global search accuracy and the ability of avoiding the extreme value of the algorithm can be taken into account. Combining the three strategies, CHTWDO had higher global search accuracy and a stronger ability to jump out of local extremum. Comparing with the eight meta-heuristic algorithms (including WDO) and the single strategy improved WDO on 24 test functions, the experimental results show that CHTWDO with two improved strategies has better convergence precision and faster convergence speed. Statistical tests such as Friedman's and Wilcoxon's rank-sum tests are used to determine significant differences between these comparison algorithms. The North China Craton (NCC), notably the southeastern margin of the NCC, hosts the most typical example of decratonic gold deposits. However, the factors controlling the intensity of decratonic gold mineralization and the relation between the geodynamic model of decratonization and gold mineralization still deserve to be well elucidated. The Bengbu and the Jiaobei uplifts are located at the southeastern margin of the NCC and the two uplifts have similar tectonic positions and metamorphic basements, yet the intensity of gold mineralization is quite distinct. Mesozoic mineralization and magmatism in both uplifts are controlled by the same deep geodynamic process. Accordingly, in this review, we make an effort to find solutions to these problems by integrating the whole-rock geochemical and Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic data as well as zircon U-Pb-Hf-O isotopic data from late Mesozoic magmatic rocks from the Bengbu uplift and the Jiaobei uplift. The late Mesozoic magmatism of the two uplifts can be divided into three stages, i.e. Late Jurassic (stage I), middle Early Cretaceous (stage II), and late Early Cretaceous (stage III). Comparative studies of the gold-related rocks in these two areas indicate that the intensity of the decratonic gold mineralization is controlled by magmatic source composition (i.e. the affinity of the upper crust of the South China Block), intrinsic magmatic variables of gold-related rocks (i.e. redox state and volatiles content), as well as lithospheric architecture (i.e. lithospheric thickness). Additionally, the integrated data of magmatic rocks in the three stages suggest that plate subduction acts as the recycling engine factory responsible for the decratonic mineral systems. In the early stage (Triassic), continental subduction of the South China Block induced pre-enrichment of ore-forming nutriments in magma sources, whereas in the late stage (Early Cretaceous), oceanic subduction of the paleo-Pacific plate led to the craton destruction, thereby triggering related magmatism and gold mineralization in the eastern NCC. Severe trauma could induce sepsis due to the loss of control of the infection, which may eventually lead to death. Accurate and timely diagnosis of sepsis with severe trauma remains challenging both for clinician and laboratory. Combinations of markers, as opposed to single ones, may improve diagnosis. We compared the diagnostic characteristics of routinely used biomarkers of sepsis alone and in combination, trying to define a biomarker panel to predict sepsis in severe patients. This prospective observational study included patients with severe trauma (Injury severity score, ISS = 16 or more) in the emergency intensive care unit (EICU) at a university hospital. Blood samples were collected and plasma levels of procalcitonin (PCT), C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and serum amyloid A (SAA) were measured using commercial enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits. A total of 100 patients were eligible for analysis. Of these, 52 were diagnosed with sepsis. CRP yielded the highest discriminative value followed by PCT. In multiple logistic regression, SAA, CRP, and PCT were found to be independent predictors of sepsis. Bioscore which was composed of SAA, CRP, and PCT was shown to be far superior to that of each individual biomarker taken individually. Tapinarof is an aromatic hydrocarbon receptor inhibitor for the treatment of adult psoriasis, and with the completion of Phase III clinical trials for this drug, it is important to understand its place among the medications used in the treatment of psoriasis for clinical application. Networks were constructed for 1% tapinarof cream with positive control (calcipotriol) and negative control (placebo). Network meta-analysis was performed using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PISMA) 2015. Relevant randomized clinical trials were searched from PubMed, Cochrane Library, and National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) as of February 2023. Data were analyzed using the gemtc package in R software (RStudio) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 1% tapinarof cream in the treatment of psoriasis in adults. A total of 2408 patients were enrolled in 8 clinical studies of 1% tapinarof cream, and 6874 patients were enrolled in 14 clinial studies of calciptriol. 1% tapinarof cream was superior to placebo [OR: 8.3 (5.5, 13.0), 8.3 (5.9, 13.0), 7.3 (5.1, 11.0)] and calcipotriol in the treatment of psoriasis at 4, 8, and 12 weeks, and the incidence of adverse events was higher than that with placebo [OR: 3.3 (2.6, 4.3)] and calcipotriol, with no serious systemic adverse events. 1% tapinarof cream is a safe and effective treatment for psoriasis. Gold in Carlin-type gold ores is commonly hosted in the arsenian pyrite rim, but the formation of arsenian pyrite and its contribution to Au adsorption are poorly understood. Based on our previous NanoSIMS Au mapping, we conducted SEM and HR-TEM analyses to examine the Au deportment and nanoscale texture of individual auriferous arsenian pyrite grains from the giant Carlin-type Lannigou gold deposit, SW China. The results indicate that the arsenian pyrite rim is composed of numerous nanoparticulate pyrite grains (rather than a single crystal), and gold nanoparticles (Au0) occur mainly in sub-rim with the highest Au content, which are porous and have lower degrees of order. We propose that nanoparticulate arsenian pyrite attachment and aggregation is the main mechanism for the arsenian pyrite rim growth, and such mechanism is crucial for the Au efficient enrichment for this giant gold deposit. It remains a fundamental challenge to administer guided regeneration and functional recovery of peripheral nerves after the complete transection. Herein, a new concept to specifically depolarize the membranes of the target acetylcholinergic motor neurons by near infrared (NIR) laser‐triggered optogenetics for promoted functional reconnection of transected peripheral nerves is reported. The approach features the anchoring of acetylcholine‐modified upconversion nanoparticles (UCNP) onto the acetylcholine receptors on the postsynaptic membrane and selective infection of the motor neural cells with adeno‐associated virus loading channelrhodopsin 2 (ChR2). The upconversion fluorescence mediated by UCNP can activate ChR2 protein for membrane depolarization of the acetylcholinergic motor neurons. It induces a cascade of events, including axonal regeneration, Schwann cells remyelination, brain‐derived neurotrophic factor expression enhancement, and the remodeling of neuromuscular junctions (NMJ) from muscle denervation, which leads to promoted functional reconnection of the injured peripheral nerves. The results of behavioral and electrophysiological experiments further verify the functional recovery of transected peripheral nerves by the approach. The UCNP‐mediated optogenetic strategy of minimally invasive, precisely guided, and functional reconnection of injured nerves shall bring great benefits to both fundamental research and translational development in neural regenerative medicine. Purpose: Alimentary tract duplication involving the rectum (ATD-R) is rare. The purpose of the study was to describe the features of pediatric ATD-R patients and propose a surgical management strategy.Methods: Nine consecutive children operated on for ATD-R at a tertiary center for pediatrics from January 2010 to June 2021 were retrospectively reviewed and followed up. Eighty-six children with the same diagnosis from the literature were reviewed to assist the investigation. Classifications of ATD-R consisted of cystic, tubular, and diverticular.Results: Surgical treatment and histopathological examination identified six females and three males with ATD-R. Initial clinical symptoms included perianal lesions, abnormal discharge, and anorectal malformation (ARM). Apart from one tubular ATD-R patient with cloaca malformation, the other eight patients had normal-developed anorectum. Complete or partial lesion resection maintaining the integrity of the proper colorectum was a principle of surgery. Six patients were followed up for a median time of 71 (range 12-121) months with good prognoses. A surgical management strategy of ATD-R in children was proposed.Conclusions: ATD-R commonly occurred concurrently with normal-developed anorectum, seldom combined with ARM. The leadership style of coaches plays a vital role in affecting athletes' psychological well-being; however, little is known about the relationship between coaches' benevolent leadership and their athletes' psychological well-being. The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating mechanism of caring climate in the link between benevolent leadership and psychological well-being. With a sample of 295 university athletes from three universities in China, we conducted structural equation modeling to test our hypotheses. The results indicated that coaches' benevolent leadership was positively related to the psychological well-being of athletes, and that caring climate mediated this relationship. Findings from this study highlight the significance of adopting benevolent leadership and creating a caring climate as a means of enhancing the psychological well-being of university athletes. Introduction: Periodontitis is the main indication for dental extraction and often leads to peri‐implantitis (PI). Alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) is an effective means of preserving ridge dimensions after extraction. However, whether PI prevalence is lower after ARP for extraction after periodontitis remains unclear. This study investigated PI after ARP in patients with periodontitis. Materials and Methods: This study explored the 138 dental implants of 113 patients. The reasons for extraction were categorized as periodontitis or nonperiodontitis. All implants were placed at sites treated using ARP. PI was diagnosed on the basis of radiographic bone loss of ≥3 mm, as determined through comparison of standardized bitewing radiographs obtained immediately after insertion with those obtained after at least 6 months. Chi‐square and two‐sample t testing and generalized estimating equations (GEE) logistic regression model were employed to identify risk factors for PI. Statistical significance was indicated by p < 0.05. Results: The overall PI prevalence was 24.6% (n = 34). The GEE univariate logistic regression demonstrated that implant sites and implant types were significantly associated with PI (premolar vs. molar: crude odds ratios [OR] = 5.27, 95% confidence intervals [CI] = 2.15–12.87, p = 0.0003; bone level vs. tissue level: crude OR = 5.08, 95% CI = 2.10–12.24; p = 0.003, respectively). After adjustment for confounding factors, the risks of PI were significantly associated with implant sites (premolar vs. molar: adjusted OR [AOR] = 4.62, 95% CI = 1.74–12.24; p = 0.002) and implant types (bone level vs. tissue level: AOR = 6.46, 95% CI = 1.67–25.02; p = 0.007). The reason for dental extraction—that is, periodontitis or nonperiodontitis—was not significantly associated with PI. Conclusion: ARP reduces the incidence of periodontitis‐related PI at extraction sites. To address the limitations of our study, consistent and prospective randomized controlled trials are warranted. With gigapixel WSIs exhibiting diverse histological appearances, obtaining clinically prognostic and explainable features remains challenging. Therefore, we propose a novel deep learning-based algorithm combining tissue areas with histopathological features to predict cancer survival. Methods: The Cancer Genome Atlas Colon Adenocarcinoma (TCGA-COAD) dataset was used in this investigation. A deep convolutional survival model (DeepConvSurv) extracted histopathological information from the image patches of nine different tissue types, including tumors, lymphocytes, stroma, and mucus. The tissue map of the WSIs was segmented using image processing techniques that involved localizing and quantifying the tissue region. Six survival models with the concordance index (C-index) were used as the evaluation metrics. Results: We extracted 128 histopathological features from four histological types and five tissue area features from WSIs to predict colorectal cancer survival. Our method performed better in six distinct survival models than the Whole Slide Histopathological Images Survival Analysis framework (WSISA), which adaptively sampled patches using K-means from WSIs. The best performance using histopathological features was 0.679 using LASSO-Cox. Compared to histopathological features alone, tissue area features increased the C-index by 2.5%. Based on histopathological features and tissue area features, our approach achieved performance of 0.704 with RIDGE-Cox. The mechanical characteristics of self-weight collapsibility of loess is mainly studied through laboratory tests, numerical simulations, and field immersion tests. However, a laboratory test under the lateral restraint condition cannot reflect the 3D stress state of soil and the influence of lateral extrusion deformation. The numerical simulation method is complex, and the calculation results depend on the accuracy of the constitutive model of loess deformation. Although the field immersion test produces results consistent with the stress and deformation conditions of actual foundations, the test cycle is long, and the cost is high. To overcome these issues, based on the strong self-weight collapsible loess in Ili, Xinjiang, and the variation laws of its physical and mechanical properties along the buried depth, a site is generalized and layered, and typical soil layers are selected to prepare a centrifugal model. A centrifugal model test is then conducted on the self-weight collapsible loess foundation. Taking the regional correction coefficient as the index, the rationality of the new method is verified by comparing the results of the centrifugal model test with those of the laboratory test and field immersion test. Most molybdenum (Mo) deposits are considered to be associated with magmatic systems; however, their genetic link is not clearly resolved when using, for example, bulk sulfur (S) and lead (Pb) isotopes of sulfides dominated by pyrite separates. Here, we present microtextures and in situ trace-element results of pyrite, in situ S isotopic compositions of molybdenite and pyrite, and Pb isotopes of pyrite and K-feldspar determined by laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) and multicollector (MC) LA-ICP-MS. Combined with geochronologic data for both the magmatism and Mo mineralization, these in situ methods allowed the genetic link between Mo mineralization and magmatism to be unraveled at Shipingchuan, SE China. The Shipingchuan deposit is characterized by molybdenite-quartz veins hosted by faults or fractures around a biotite K-feldspar granite. Zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb and molybdenite Re-Os dating results confirm that the biotite K-feldspar granite and mineralization were coeval and formed during the end of the Early Cretaceous (ca. 105 Ma), whereas postmineralization monzogranite porphyry dikes formed at 93.7 Ma. Pyrite shows a close mutual relationship with molybdenite and is characterized by Co-Ni-As-Te-Cu-Pb-AgBi–rich cores (PyI) revealed by LA-ICP-MS data. Co/Ni and calculated (Se/S)fluid ratios for both cores (PyI) and rims (PyII) indicate a magmatic-hydrothermal origin. The in situ S isotopic compositions (δ34S) of molybdenite are 2.1‰ to 6.8‰, which are identical to those of molybdenite separates. PyI has δ34S values of –6.9‰ to 0.8‰, whereas PyII exhibits slightly more negative values of –7.5‰ to –0.2‰. These analyses indicate reliable results for in situ S isotopes in molybdenite, which could be more appropriate to constrain the origin of sulfur in hydrothermal fluids than results from pyrite analysis. The in situ S isotopic compositions of sulfides confirm a magmatic source for sulfur. The in situ Pb isotopic compositions of pyrite are consistent with those of K-feldspar from the biotite K-feldspar granite, indicating a common source. The heterogeneous As/Ni, As/ Sb, and As/Bi values, as well as the variations of δ34S values of both PyI and PyII, indicate progressive oxidization of the hydrothermal fluids. These results illustrate that the metalrich fluids were released from the granite and migrated along faults and fractures around the granite in an extensional setting. The precipitation of molybdenite-quartz veins at Shipingchuan was triggered by changes in temperatures and redox conditions, which were caused by mixing of magmatic fluids and meteoric water. Results in this study provide an example of tracing the link between Mo mineralization and magmatism using in situ S isotopic compositions of molybdenite and Pb isotopes of pyrite and K-feldspar. The flow inside the orifices in diesel injector largely determines the injection characteristics, which further affects the performance of the diesel engine. In this paper, numerical simulation is conducted to characterize the fuel flow with characteristics of two-phase cavitation, high speed, high pressure, high turbulence intensity, and high viscosity in two crucial orifice locations. The OZ orifice is selected as a benchmark to select the appropriate turbulence model and cavitation model. The simulation results from different turbulence and cavitation models are analyzed, and the combination of the realizable k–ε turbulence model and the Zwart–Gerber–Belamri cavitation model proves to be superior. Then, based on the validated models, the compressibility and non-isothermal characteristics of the fuel and two geometric parameters of the nozzles in an injector are emphatically discussed to depict the cavitation flow. The results suggest that the compressibility and non-isothermal characteristics of fuel affect the mass flow rate, fuel flow velocity, and cavitation extent within the orifices with a maximum deviation of the mass flow rate of 7.1%. However, their influence on the orifice flow coefficient is relatively minor with a maximum deviation of 0.8%. The mass flow rate and flow coefficient are both positively correlated with the rounded edge radius and taper coefficient. Lanthanide ions (Yb3+ or Er3+) alloying of CsPb(Cl1‐xBrx)3 quantum dots (QDs) to emit approaching 1000 nm show promise in near‐infrared light‐emitting diodes (NIR‐LEDs). High Yb3+ alloying ratio increases the electroluminance efficiency of emission at 990 nm and enables high external quantum efficiency (EQE) of NIR‐LEDs, however, the high alloying ratio also results in inferior material stability and PLQY drop because of Yb3+‐induced nanocrystal precipitation. This study finds that the heavy alloying of Yb3+ ions causes lattice distortion and coherent energy reduction of Yb3+: CsPb(Cl1‐xBrx)3 QDs, induced by two Yb3+ ions replacing three Pb2+, which leads to the collapse of the octahedral structure in ambient conditions. It posits that spontaneous monovalent ion (Na+) alloying can address the trade‐off between material stability and emission intensity. The Na+ occupies the vacancy of Pb2+ ions, relaxing the distortion in the lattice and improving the phase stability of octahedral structure, and this optimized structure in turn allows a higher Yb3+ alloying ratio. Stability measurements show that the Na+/Yb3+ co‐alloyed films show ten‐fold higher material stability and 2.0‐fold emission efficiency related to controls. It reports that as a result Na+/Yb3+ co‐alloyed NIR‐LEDs have an EQE of 6.4% at 990 nm, which is among the highest perovskite NIR‐LEDs beyond 950 nm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The use of Anti-PD-1 therapy has yielded promising outcomes in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, limited research has been conducted on the overall survival (OS) of patients with varying tumor responses and treatment duration. Methods: This retrospective study analyzed HCC patients who received sintilimab between January 2019 and December 2020 at four centers in China. The evaluation of tumor progression was based on Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors version 1.1. The study investigated the correlation between tumor response and OS, and the impact of drug use on OS following progressive disease (PD). Results: Out of 441 treated patients, 159 patients satisfied the inclusion criteria. Among them, 77 patients with disease control exhibited a significantly longer OS compared to the 82 patients with PD (median OS 26.0 vs. 11.3 months, P < 0.001). Additionally, the OS of patients with objective response (OR) was better than that of patients with stable disease (P = 0.002). Among the 47 patients with PD who continued taking sintilimab, the OS was better than the 35 patients who discontinued treatment (median OS 11.4 vs. 6.9 months, P = 0.042). After the emulsion, composed of acidified carbon nanotubes (ACNTs), polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and its curing agent, is sprayed onto melamine foam (MF), water in the emulsion is first evaporated, while PDMS and ACNTs are finally deposited on the foam skeleton. The foam composite exhibits gradient wettability and turns from superhydrophobicity of the top surface (the water contact angle reaches as high as 155.2°) to hydrophilicity of the interior region. The foam composite can be used for the separation of oils with different densities and has a 97% separation efficiency for chloroform. In particular, the photothermal conversion-induced temperature rise can reduce the oil viscosity and complete the high-efficiency cleanup of crude oil. Background: Exercise rehabilitation training is an important measure for improving the prognosis of patients with hip fractures. However, the particular program that works effectively and the efficiency of exercise therapy are still controversial. Objective: To compare the effects of usual postoperative care combined with rehabilitation based on exercise prescription on motor function and complications in elderly patients who underwent surgery for hip fracture. Methods: This was an observational study. A total of 71 elderly patients with hip fractures who were treated with hip arthroplasty and internal fixation of the proximal femur with an intramedullary nail at Suzhou Municipal Hospital from October 2020 to December 2021 were included; 11 cases were excluded (eight cases were excluded due to loss of follow-up, two due to deaths from other causes, and one due to other reasons). Finally, 60 patients (18 males and 42 females) were included. Patients were randomly assigned to the control (n = 30) and experimental (n = 30) groups using a random number generator. Patients in the control group received usual postoperative care, whereas those in the experimental group received usual postoperative care combined with rehabilitation training based on the principles of exercise prescription. We recorded the motor function (Harris hip score), daily living ability (Barthel Index), and complications at discharge and 1, 3, and 6 months postoperatively for statistical analysis. Results: The Harris hip score and Barthel Index score were significantly higher at 1, 3, and 6 months postoperatively than at discharge in both groups (p < 0.05). The Harris hip score and Barthel Index score at discharge and 1, 3, and 6 months postoperatively were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (p < 0.05). The incidence of complications at 6 months postoperatively was significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group (13% vs. 37%). Conclusions: Rehabilitation therapy based on exercise prescription helps improve hip function and the ability to perform activities of daily living and related postoperative complications after hip fracture surgery in elderly patients. Background/Aims: Discretionary, energy‐dense, nutrient‐poor food and drinks are heavily marketed and readily available in retail settings frequented by adolescents. This study examines associations between food purchasing practices in various retail settings and dietary intake among Australian adolescents. Methods: Participants were students in years 8 to 11 (ages 12‐17 years) who completed the 2009‐10 (n = 13 790), 2012‐13 (n = 10 309) or 2018 (n = 9102) National Secondary Students' Diet and Activity (NaSSDA) cross‐sectional survey. Multistage stratified random sampling was used. An online survey completed at school assessed self‐reported frequency of food purchasing practices in various retail settings and consumption of discretionary food, sugary drinks, fruit and vegetables. Generalised linear regression models examined associations between food purchasing practices and dietary behaviour. Results: Relative to students who brought lunch from home, those who purchased lunch from school or nearby outlets reported higher intake of discretionary food and sugary drinks and lower fruit intake. Buying lunch from school was also associated with lower vegetable intake. Buying food or drinks on the school commute, outside school grounds during school hours, from supermarket checkouts, and using mobile phone apps were each associated with higher discretionary food and sugary drink intake (all P <.01). Conclusions: Purchasing food or drink in various retail settings is associated with higher intake of discretionary food and drink among Australian adolescents, and some purchasing practices appeared to displace fruit and vegetable intake. With the accelerated development of nanotechnology in recent years, nanomaterials have become increasingly prevalent in the medical field. The poly (lactic acid–glycolic acid) copolymer (PLGA) is one of the most commonly used biodegradable polymers. It is biocompatible and can be fabricated into various nanostructures, depending on requirements. Ischemic stroke is a common, disabling, and fatal illness that burdens society. There is a need for further improvement in the diagnosis and treatment of this disease. PLGA-based nanostructures can facilitate therapeutic compounds' passage through the physicochemical barrier. They further provide both sustained and controlled release of therapeutic compounds when loaded with drugs for the treatment of ischemic stroke. The clinical significance and potential of PLGA-based nanostructures can also be seen in their applications in cell transplantation and imaging diagnostics of ischemic stroke. This paper summarizes the synthesis and properties of PLGA and reviews in detail the recent applications of PLGA-based nanostructures for drug delivery, disease therapy, cell transplantation, and the imaging diagnosis of ischemic stroke. Satellite precipitation data downscaling is gaining importance for climatic and hydrological studies at basin scale, especially in the data-scarce mountainous regions, e.g., the Upper Indus Basin (UIB). The relationship between precipitation and environmental variables is frequently utilized to statistically data and enhance spatial resolution; the non-stationary relationship between precipitation and environmental variables has not yet been completely explored. The present work is designed to downscale TRMM (Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission) data from 2000 to 2017 in the UIB, using stepwise regression analysis (SRA) to filter environmental variables first and a geographically weighted regression (GWR) model to downscale the data later. As a result, monthly and annual precipitation data with a high spatial resolution (1 km × 1 km) were obtained. The study's findings showed that elevation, longitude, the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), and latitude, with the highest correlations with precipitation in the UIB, are the most important variables for downscaling. Environmental variable filtration followed by GWR model downscaling performed better than GWR model downscaling directly when compared with observation data. Generally, the SRA and GWR method are suitable for environmental variable filtration and TRMM data downscaling, respectively, over the complex and heterogeneous topography of the UIB. We conclude that the monthly non-stationary relationships between precipitation and variables exist and have the greatest potential to affect downscaling, which requires the most attention. Accretionary and collisional orogeny are often accompanied by the disturbance of the geothermal gradient, leading to high-temperature metamorphism. High-temperature metamorphic rocks are significant in their ability to help the reconstruction of the thermal histories of orogenic belts. The Tianshan Orogenic Belt, at the southwest margin of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt, is a record of the long-term subduction–collision–post-collision orogenic process that has taken place in the Phanerozoic Eon. Here, we report the discovery of mafic granulites in the Muzhaerte area, SW Tianshan. Petrographic observation reveals that the mafic granulites underwent two metamorphic stages. The peak mineral assemblage of the first stage is dominated by clinopyroxene + orthopyroxene + plagioclase + quartz + hornblende (hb1) ± biotite, and the post-peak mineral assemblage of the second stage is dominated by clinopyroxene + plagioclase + quartz + hornblende (hb2) + biotite. The calculated results obtained from the two-pyroxene thermobarometers and the Al-in-hornblende barometer for the mafic granulites indicate that the metamorphic conditions of mafic granulites are 760–860 °C, <0.39–0.41 Gpa. The mafic granulites recorded a high-grade granulite facies thermal metamorphic event with the highest temperature limit currently recorded in the Central Tianshan Block. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) with machine learning (ML) is revolutionizing how services and applications impact our daily lives. In traditional ML methods, data are collected and processed centrally. However, modern IoT networks face challenges in implementing this approach due to their vast amount of data and privacy concerns. To overcome these issues, federated learning (FL) has emerged as a solution. FL allows ML methods to achieve collaborative training by transferring model parameters instead of client data. One of the significant challenges of federated learning is that IoT devices as clients usually have different computation and communication capacities in a dynamic environment. At the same time, their network availability is unstable, and their data quality varies. To achieve high-quality federated learning and handle these challenges, designing the proper client selection process and methods are essential, which involves selecting suitable clients from the candidates. This study presents a comprehensive systematic literature review (SLR) that focuses on the challenges of client selection (CS) in the context of federated learning (FL). The objective of this SLR is to facilitate future research and development of CS methods in FL. Additionally, a detailed and in-depth overview of the CS process is provided, encompassing its abstract implementation and essential characteristics. This comprehensive presentation enables the application of CS in diverse domains. Furthermore, various CS methods are thoroughly categorized and explained based on their key characteristics and their ability to address specific challenges.
