Abstract

This article discusses the diagnosis and management of a patient with HIV and Mpox (MPVX), a virus that has been spreading globally since May 2022. The patient experienced severe stricture proctitis and intestinal obstruction, which was effectively treated with a transverse colostomy. The article emphasizes the importance of multidisciplinary management of Mpox and provides potential treatment options for patients with severe Mpox infection. It also mentions that while most patients with Mpox have a mild clinical course, some may experience more severe symptoms such as rectal perforation or intestinal obstruction.
