Objectives To compare early and long-term outcomes of redo-isolated tricuspid surgery (RITS) after left-sided valve surgery. Methods We retrospectively reviewed 173 patients who underwent RITS for severe tricuspid regurgitation after previous left-sided valve surgery from January 1999 to December 2019. Patients were divided into two groups: RITS by median sternotomy (m-RITS; n = 78) and totally endoscopic approach (e-RITS; n = 95). Perioperative outcomes and follow-up results were analyzed. Results There were 19 (11%) in-hospital deaths (14.1% in m-RITS and 8.4% in e-RITS, p = .234) that decreased from 16.7% (1999-2014) to 6.9% (2015-2019) (p = .044). Tricuspid valve replacement (odds ratio [OR] = 4.989, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.133-29.790, p = .041) and NYHA function class IV (OR = 9.611, 95% CI: 2.102-43.954, p = .004) were independent risk factors for in-hospital mortality. The overall 1-, 5-, 10-, and 15-year survival rates were 97.2% (95% CI: 94.5%-99.9%), 80.3% (95% CI: 71.7%-88.9%), 59.2% (95% CI: 43.5%-75.5%), and 49.3% (95% CI: 27.2%-71.4%), respectively. Conclusion Patients undergoing RITS carry a high risk of early mortality. There was no significant difference in early mortality or long-term survival between the endoscopy and median sternotomy, whereas the endoscopy approach was associated with shorter intensive care unit stays and fewer reoperations. Repair resulted in lower surgical mortality than replacement with acceptable residual tricuspid regurgitation.

Methods We retrospectively reviewed clinical data from patients with VSD from 2012 to January 2019. According to the surgical pattern, they were divided into two groups: the total thoracoscopic surgery group (36 patients, 27 females, aged 29 ± 9.52 years), and a mini‐sternotomy group (31 patients, 12 females, aged 28 ± 8.67 years). Results There were no deaths in either group. Background The strategy of isolated tricuspid valve surgery has undergone innovations in recent years. This study aimed to summarize our experience using an endoscopic approach to repeat isolated tricuspid valve surgery (RITS) after left-sided valve replacement (LSVR). Methods From June 2013 to May 2019, 79 patients underwent endoscopic RITS after LSVR at our institution. Patients were divided into the tricuspid valvuloplasty (TVP) group (N.=49) and the tricuspid valve replacement (TVR) group (N.=30); perioperative outcomes and follow-up results were compared. Results There were seven postoperative deaths (8.9%). In-hospital mortality was higher in the TVR group than in the TVP group, although this difference was not statistically significant (13.3% vs. 6.1%, P=0.417). More patients experienced residual moderate-to-severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR) at discharge in the TVP group than in the TVR group (26.7% vs. 0%, P=0.003). Five patients died from heart, and multiorgan failure during follow-up; the overall 3- and 5-year survival rates were 93.8% [95% confidence interval (CI): (87.1-99.9%)] and 85.3% (95% CI: 73.3-99.2%), respectively, and no significant differences were found between the two groups (P=0.103). The overall rates of the 3- and 5-year freedom from severe recurrent TR were 93.2% (95% CI: 85.9-99.9%) and 89.0% (78.7-99.9%), respectively, and no significant difference was found between groups (P=0.176). Conclusions Repeat isolated tricuspid valve surgery after left-sided valve replacement is associated with adverse perioperative outcomes. Endoscopic access offers an alternative approach for RITS after LSVR with acceptable results. TVP results in lower surgical mortality than TVR while carrying a higher risk of residual moderate-to-severe TR.

Potatoes play an important role in ensuring food security. During the COVID-19 epidemic, consumption of processed potato products decreased, and consumption of fresh potatoes increased. China is the world's largest potato producer with more than 4.81 million hectares of area under potato production and 90.32 million metric tonnes of potatoes produced in 2018. This accounts for 27.36% of the world's planting area and 24.53% of the world's potato production. The proportion of potatoes processed in China was about 12% in 2017, mostly dominated by starch production. However, the recent policy of the Chinese government to popularise potato as a staple food has created new markets for processed potato products other than starch. A very few reports have analysed these future trends of the rapidly growing Chinese potato processing industry and its impact within and outside China. This paper provides an overview of the latest developments with a focus on processed potato products such as potato chips, French fries and dehydrated potatoes, and also, due to the unique Chinese diet culture, it highlights the need for more scientific research dedicated towards the development of novel potato-based healthy foods.

In the thoracoscopic group, cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) time and aortic cross-clamping (ACC) time were significantly longer than those of the mini-sternotomy group (CPB time: 111.78 ± 23.16 min vs 77.58 ± 37.90 min, respectively, p < 0.001; ACC time: 111.78 ± 23.16 min vs 77.58 ± 37.90 min, respectively, p < 0.001). Tracheal intubation time (6.42 ± 3.85 hours vs 28.55 ± 123.18 hours, p = 0.325), intensive care unit (ICU) stay time (20.47 ± 9.52 hours vs 49.65 ± 163.72 hours, p = 0.330), postoperative hospital stay time (5.11 ± 2.48 days vs 5.90 ± 6.27 days, p = 0.488) and chest drainage (139.86 ± 111.71 ml vs 196.13 ± 147.34 ml, p = 0.081) tended to be lower in the thoracoscopy group, although there was no significant difference. No residual shunt or tricuspid regurgitation was found at follow-up. Conclusions: Total thoracoscopic repair is safe and effective in patients with VSD, with or without tricuspid regurgitation.

The large Jiawula Pb-Zn-Ag deposit is located in the Manzhouli area, northeast China. The Pb-Zn-polymetallic mineralization in the Jiawula deposit is present as ore veins distributed in Early Mesozoic sedimentary and magmatic rocks and was controlled by NWW to NNW trending faults. He and Ar isotope analysis results of fluid inclusions hosted in pyrite show that 40Ar/36Ar ratios are 280.5–300.1, which is close to the atmospheric value (295.5). 3He/4He ratios vary from 40.15 × 10−7 to 71.68 × 10−7. The calculated mantle He are in a range of 35.8–64.0%, with an average of 51.0%. He-Ar isotopic data reveals that the ore-forming fluids of the Jiawula deposit were derived from mixture of two fluid end-members: (1) mantle-derived fluid, which has provided a considerable proportion of He; and (2) crustal fluid, which is characterized by almost atmospheric Ar and crustal He. The sphalerite from the Jiawula deposit have a narrow range of δ66ZnJMC values, varying from 0.15 to 0.307‰, with a mean value of 0.236‰. We suggest that the variation of Zn isotope values of sphalerite from the Jiawula deposit was most likely caused by kinetic Rayleigh fractionation. The Zn isotope analysis result, combined with previous S isotopic data, indicate that the ore-forming material of the Jiawula deposit was derived from a single source. The intrusive rocks in the deposit have low initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios, relatively high eNd(t) values, and young TDM2 Nd model ages, indicating a high proportion of juvenile material in the petrogenesis. Combined with Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic data of intrusive rocks that are coeval with mineralization in the deposit, He-Ar-Zn isotope analysis results, and previous studies, we propose that the mantle component in the ore-forming fluid and material of the Jiawula deposit was most probably derived from the simultaneous magma, which was derived from partial melting of crust with involvement of mantle magma in an extensional setting during the late Jurassic to the early Early Cretaceous.

The Dabie molybdenum (Mo) belt in east China is an important Mo belt in both China and the world. All of the Mo deposits in the Dabie area are porphyry (-skarn) type. The ore-related granite samples from the Qian’echong, Tangjiaping, and Doupo Mo deposits in the Mo belt have been collected for zircon and apatite trace elements analysis. Additionally, the Doupo ore-related granite has also been chosen for zircon U-Pb dating. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating of the ore-related granite in the Doupo Mo deposit yields a crystallization age of 127 ± 1 Ma, which is consistent with the molybdenite Re-Os age of the deposit. The chondrite-normalized patterns of all zircons are characterized by positive Ce anomalies with variable negative Eu anomalies. The ore-related granites in the Qian’echong and Tangjiaping Mo deposits show relatively high magmatic oxygen fugacity (ΔFMQ ≥ +1.5), whereas the Doupo ore-related granite has a relatively low magmatic oxygen fugacity (ΔFMQ − 0.3), which might have caused it to have relatively small Mo reserve compared to the Qian’echong and Tangjiaping deposits. All of the apatites from the three Mo deposits are characterized by LREE-enriched and HREE-depleted chondrite-normalized patterns, with various degrees of Eu depletion and Ce enrichment. Not only redox condition but also other factors could have influenced the Eu/Eu* or/and Ce/Ce* of apatite in this study, and the anomalies of Eu and Ce of apatites from the ore-related granites in this study could not be used to evaluate the magma redox states. The geochemical characteristics of apatite indicate that the ore-forming magmas of the Mo deposits in this study are oxidized and metaluminous I or A type magmas. During the Early Cretaceous regional extension and asthenospheric upwelling in the Dabie orogen, partial melting of the crustal rocks generated oxidized Mo-bearing magma. Relatively oxidized condition prevents Mo from incorporating into sulfides or silicates in the magma, and finally leads to Mo precipitation from the ore-forming fluids, which released from the magma.

A simple method called low-temperature vacuum drying (LTVD) was used to produce a novel dehydrated potato flour called raw dehydrated potato flour (RDPF). Preparing RDPF by LTVD at 60°C, 70°C and 80°C in both slice and dice shape was investigated. Potato samples in dice shape are easier dehydrating than in slice shape, the starch granules of RDPF maintain ellipsoid shape as the native potato starch. The best temperature of LTVD to prepare the RDPF is around 70°C according to CIE chromaticity results. Dehydrate at 60°C in dice shape, 88.37% of the trypsin inhibitor activity of the fresh potato is maintained. The Mixolab curve shows that the RDPF has some similar rheological properties of the wheat flour. Protein undenatured, starch ungelatinized, with the high performance of processing properties, RDPF has a number of potential applications in the potato staple food manufacture.

Spatial data is becoming increasingly important in forestry resource management and decision making. However, huge amount of accumulated spatial data were not fully utilized due to the difficulty of sharing and integration. A forest spatial data sharing and integration system was developed based on GeoServer. A distributed architecture was adopted to address the data storage in different organizations. WMS and WFS were the main service for data sharing and integration. Applications demonstrate that the system can easily share and integrate various spatial data.

Forest fire is one of the most detrimental factors affecting forest resources. Forest fire prevention and suppression requires a lot of information of fire field in decision making. A GIS based assistant information system for forest fire prevention direction was developed. The system makes use of spatial data and fire monitoring data from sensor nodes to provide important assistant information for forest fire prevention. It also provides a series of Web service APIs for forest fire prevention application development. Test demonstrated that the system is applicable and helpful to forest fire prevention.

A GIS based decision support system for eucalypt cultivation and management was developed. The system can help farmers make decision in planting suitability, eucalypt variety selection, planting scheme making etc. The system can also make an economic evaluation for the selected variety so that users can make decision to plant or not. The system supports two groups of users which are eucalypt farmers who cultivate eucalypt in a small scale and forest farms who cultivate eucalypt in a relatively large scale.

Meteorological conditions play an important role in agricultural practice and agricultural DSS usually takes weather data as a critical data source. A meteorological data service system was designed and implemented to provide better performance for Chinese users. Based on the service system, a web application providing online weather data retrieval and downloading was also developed. The service system was practically used in a decision support system for eucalypt management, and proved to be very feasible as an online weather data source for agricultural decision support system. Base on this service system, it is expected that agricultural researchers and decision support systems can easily obtain weather data and further improve their agricultural decision making process.
