As a typical transition metal oxide anode material, ZnMoO4 can deliver a higher theoretical capacity of 951.6 mAh g−1 due to its variable oxidation state and alloying reaction. However, lower conductivity and huge volumetric expansion restrict its further development. Herein, the modified sol–gel method is applied to synthesize a series of (1-x)ZnMoO4-xZnFe2O4 (x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5) composites. The effects of compound proportion of ZnFe2O4 on the crystal phase structure and morphology for ZnMoO4 have been investigated in detail. All the composites have been conducted on electrochemical measurements, and the results illustrate that the composites display better electrochemical performance than that of ZnMoO4. Especially for 0.6ZnMoO4-0.4ZnFe2O4, it can deliver a capacity of 550.7 mAh g−1 after 500 cycles at a current density of 200 mA g−1. Moreover, it also presents the higher capacity at higher current density. The improvement of electrochemical performance should be attributed to the synergistic effect of ZnFe2O4 and ZnMoO4.

Transition metal oxides (TMOs) based compounds are recognized as high-energy anodes in next-generation lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) due to their extremely high theoretical capacity. However, the lower intrinsic conductivity, fast fading cyclic stability and dramatic volume expansion during discharge/charge processes greatly hinder the practical application of TMOs as anodes in LIBs. In this study, we have designed and constructed MoO3/ZnCo2O4 QDs@C@rGO/MoO3 (denoted as GMZCO) sandwich-structured hybrid nanocomposites via an effective route, and have proposed the formation mechanism of this unique nanostructured composite on the basis of the systematic results of the microstructures. Due to the unique sandwich structure and the synergistic enhancement effect of the ZnCo2O4 QDs, α-MoO3 and rGO, the as-constructed GMZCO exhibits the superior electrochemical performances when used as anode for LIBs. The obtained GMZCO can maintain high capacity of 1281 mAh g−1 at 0.2 A g−1 after 300 cycles, and can deliver as high as specific capacity of 913 mAh g−1 at 1 A g−1 after 500 cycles, revealing the higher capacity and excellent cyclic stability. What deserves to be mentioned most is that GMZCO can keep a capacity of 541 mAh g−1 after 1400 cycles even at higher current density of 3 A g−1, having outstanding rate capability. This work paves a novel approach for design TMOs with unique microstructures as a promising anode for the high-performances LIBs.

The Tibetan Plateau (TP), also called the Third Pole, is considered to be “the world water tower”. The northwestern TP (NWTP), which has an average elevation higher than 4800 m, is an arid region where the summer precipitation is largely overestimated by the ERA5 global reanalysis product. We hypothesize that this wet bias is mainly caused by unrealistic lower-level winds that trigger strong convection over the region; it can be reduced by using a high-resolution regional climate model with a large domain that allows realistically representing interactions between the Westerlies and Asian summer monsoons. Here, downscaling using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model driven by ERA5 was conducted with a large domain (8°‒50° N, 65°‒125° E) at 9 km for the period 1979‒2019 (WRF9km). Precipitation values from WRF9km and ERA5 were evaluated against satellite observations; compared with ERA5, WRF9km captured the climatological summer precipitation over the NWTP with a much-reduced wet bias. The ERA5 overestimation is mainly caused by excessive convective precipitation, likely linked to strong vertical motions over the NWTP induced by an overestimated lower-level southerly wind.

Abstract: Corilagin is a naturally occurring water-soluble retrogallic acid tannin, which can be extracted from many kinds of plants. Known at present, it is the main effective ingredient of Phyllanthus urinaria L., Geranium wilfordii Maxim., Phyllanthus matsumurae Hayata, Trifolium repens L.. It also exists in Phyllanthus emblica L., Dimocarpus longan Lour., Canarium album (Lour.) Raeusch., and Terminalia chebula Retz.. It can participate in a variety of signaling pathways in vivo and has multiple biological activities, including antitumor, anti-microbial, anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation, hepatoprotective, anti-allergy, anti-proliferation and so on. Given the limited efficacy of first-line treatments for many diseases such as oncology, chronic liver disease, and rheumatic immune system diseases, and the potential for adverse effects to outweigh the therapeutic effects, attention is being focused on alternative treatments, and natural plant extracts are a natural target for alternative treatments, as natural substances tend to have low toxicity to normal tissues. Some proprietary Chinese medicines containing corilagin have been used in clinical applications, being clinically applied to treat chronic liver disease, viral hepatitis B, rheumatoid arthritis and other diseases. This paper reviews the extraction, determination, distribution and harvesting, pharmacokinetics, biological activity, safety assessment of corilagin and its application in clinical practice.

Dynamical downscaling generally performs poorly on the Tibetan Plateau (TP), due to the region’s complex topography and several aspects of model physics, especially convection and land surface processes. This study investigated the effects of the cumulus parameterization scheme (CPS) and land-surface hydrology scheme (LSHS) on TP climate simulation during the wet season using the RegCM4 regional climate model. To address these issues and seek an optimal simulation, we conducted four experiments at a 20 km resolution using various combinations of two CPSs (Grell and MIT-Emanuel), two LSHSs (the default TOPMODEL [TOP], and Variable Infiltration Capacity [VIC]). The simulations in terms of 2-m air temperature, precipitation (including large-scale precipitation [LSP] and convective precipitation [CP]), surface energy-water balance, as well as atmospheric moisture flux transport and vertical motion were compared with surface and satellite-based observations as well as the ERA5 reanalysis dataset for the period 2006–2016. The results revealed that the model using the Grell and TOP schemes better reproduced air temperature but with a warm bias, part of which could be significantly decreased by the MIT scheme. All schemes simulated a reasonable spatial distribution of precipitation, with the best performance in the experiment using the MIT and VIC schemes. Excessive precipitation was produced by the Grell scheme, mainly due to overestimated LSP, while the MIT scheme largely reduced the overestimation, and the simulated contribution of CP to total precipitation was in close agreement with the ERA5 data. The RegCM4 model satisfactorily captured diurnal cycles of precipitation amount and frequency, although there remained some differences in phase and magnitude, which were mainly caused by the CPSs. Relative to the Grell scheme, the MIT scheme yielded a weaker surface heating by reducing net radiation fluxes and the Bowen ratio. Consequently, anomalous moisture flux transport was substantially reduced over the southeastern TP, leading to a decrease in precipitation. The VIC scheme could also help decrease the wet bias by reducing surface heating. Further analysis indicated that the high CP in the MIT simulations could be attributed to destabilization in the low and mid-troposphere, while the VIC scheme tended to inhibit shallow convection, thereby decreasing CP. This study’s results also suggest that CPS interacts with LSHS to affect the simulated climate over the TP.

To investigate whether amide proton transfer-weighted imaging (APTWI) and diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) can be used to evaluate endometrial carcinoma (EC) in terms of clinical type, histological grade, subtype, and Ki-67 index. Eighty-eight patients with EC underwent pelvic DKI and APTWI. The non-Gaussian diffusion coefficient (Dapp), apparent kurtosis coefficient (Kapp), and magnetization transfer ratio asymmetry (MTRasym (3.5 ppm)) were calculated and compared based on the clinical type (type I, II), histological grade (high- and low-grade), and subtype (endometrioid adenocarcinoma (EA) and non-EA). Correlation coefficients were calculated for each parameter with histological grades and the Ki-67 index. The MTRasym (3.5 ppm) and Kapp values were higher in the type II group and high-grade group than in the type I and low-grade groups, respectively, while the Dapp values were lower in the type I and low-grade groups, respectively (all p < 0.05). The Kapp value was higher in the EA group than in the non-EA group (p = 0.022). The Kapp value was the only independent predictor for the histological grade of EA and the clinical type of EC. The AUC (DKI) was higher than the AUC (APTWI) in the identification of type I and II EC and high- and low-grade EA (Z = 2.042, 2.013, p = 0.041, 0.044), while in the identification of EA and non-EA, only the difference in Kapp was statistically significant. Moreover, the Kapp and MTRasym (3.5 ppm) values and Dapp values correlated positively and negatively, respectively, with histological grade (r = 0.759, 0.555, 0.624, and 0.462, all p < 0.05) and Ki-67 index (r = −0.704, −0.507, all p < 0.05). Both DKI- and APTWI-related parameters have potential as imaging markers in estimating the histological features of EC, while DKI shows better performance than APTWI in this study. • DKI and APTWI can be used to preliminarily evaluate the histological characteristics of endometrial carcinoma (EC). • The Kapp was the only independent predictor for the histological grade of EA and the clinical type of EC. • The Kapp, MTRasym (3.5 ppm), and Dapp correlated positively and negatively, respectively, with histological grade and Ki-67 index.

Despite the importance of the Yellow River to China, climate change for the middle reaches of the Yellow River Basin (YRB) has been investigated far less than for other regions. This work focuses on future changes in mean and extreme climate of the YRB for the near-term (2021–2040), mid-term (2041–2060), and far-term (2081–2100) future, and assesses these with respect to the reference period (1986–2005) using the latest REgional MOdel (REMO) simulations, driven by three global climate models (GCMs) and assuming historical and future [Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 2.6 and 8.5] forcing scenarios, over the CORDEX East Asia domain at 0.22° horizontal resolution. The results show that REMO reproduces the historical mean climate state and selected extreme climate indices reasonably well, although some cold and wet biases exist. Increases in mean temperature are strongest for the far-term in winter, with an average increase of 5.6 °C under RCP 8.5. As expected, the future temperatures of the warmest day (TXx) and coldest night (TNn) increase and the number of frost days (FD) declines considerably. Changes to mean temperature and FD depend on elevation, which could be explained by the snow-albedo feedback. A substantial increase in precipitation (34%) occurs in winter under RCP 8.5 for the far-term. Interannual variability in precipitation is projected to increase, indicating a future climate with more extreme events compared to that of today. Future daily precipitation intensity and maximum 5-day precipitation would increase and the number of consecutive dry days would decline under RCP 8.5. The results highlight that pronounced warming at high altitudes and more intense rainfall could cause increased future flood risk in the YRB, if a high GHG emission pathway is realized.

Climate change has a significant impact on water resources. Forecasts and simulations of climate runoff processes are essential for assessing the impact of global climate change on runoff variations. This study focuses on the upper Taohe River Basin, which is an important watershed in the semi-arid regions of northwest China. To assess the runoff in the upper Taohe River Basin and the responses to climate change, the SWAT hydrological model was used to analyze future climate change scenarios and their effects on water resources. The results indicate that the minimum temperature would increase gradually in the 21st century and that the minimum temperature change would be more significant than the maximum temperature change, which indicates that minimum temperature changes would make an obvious contribution to future regional warming. Under RCP2.6, the average precipitation would decrease; at the same time, under RCP4.5 and RCP8.5, the average precipitation would increase. In the future, under different climate scenarios, the runoff will exhibit droughts and flood disasters. These research results provide scientific support for water resource utilization and management in the Taohe River Basin.

The design of an unique micro/nanoscale structure and the composite construction with conductive materials are the two effective means to improve the electrochemical energy storage for transition metal oxides anode. However, the rational design and controllable synthesis of complex ternary transition metal oxide (such as CoMoO4) composite with polyhedron morphology is still a challenge. Herein, we report a facile and effective strategy to synthesize rhombic dodecahedron-like (denoted as RD-like) CoMoO4/C composite, which involves the initial pre-reaction between the newly made ZIF-67 with H2MoO4 in ethanol and the subsequent calcination for the resultant precursor powders in air. It is found that the calcination temperature plays a key role in determining the microstructures and the content of the generated activated carbon. Below 400 °C, the CoMoO4/C composite cannot be derived, whereas the perfect and regular RD morphology for CoMoO4/C composite also cannot be acquired over 500 °C. Moreover, a plausible mechanism for the construction of RD-like CoMoO4/C composite has also been proposed and explained. Benefiting from its unique structural merits and the significant synergistic effect of the in-situ composite activated carbon, the obtained RD-like CoMoO4/C composite at 500 °C displays outstanding electrochemical performances with high reversible capacity (532.5 mAh g−1/500th cycle at 1C), excellent cycling stability and better rate capability when it tested as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. It is conceivable that this three-in-one strategy can be extended to design and construct other cobalt-based oxyacid/C composites with unique polyhedron morphology, and markedly boost their electrocehmical performaces.

To analyze the value of amide proton transfer-weighted imaging (APTWI) and diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) in differentiating cervical cancer (CC) pathological type, grade, and stage. One hundred and twelve women underwent pelvic APTWI and DKI. The magnetization transfer ratio asymmetry (MTRasym, 3.5 ppm), apparent kurtosis coefficient (Kapp), and non-Gaussian diffusion coefficient (Dapp) were calculated by histological subtype, grade, and stage. The differences, efficacy, and correlation between parameters were determined. The MTRasym(3.5 ppm) and Dapp values of the adenocarcinoma (CA) group were higher than those of the cervical squamous carcinoma (CSC) group, while the Kapp values were lower than those of the CSC group. The MTRasym(3.5 ppm) and Kapp values of the high-grade group were higher than those of the low-grade group, while the Dapp values were lower than those of the low-grade group. The Dapp values of the advanced-stage group were lower than those of the early-stage group, while the Kapp values were greater than those of the early-stage group. The Kapp showed the highest efficacy in differentiating CSC and CA, high- and low-grade CC, and advanced- and early-stage CC. In the CSC and CA groups, both the Kapp and Dapp were highly correlated with pathological grade, and the MTRasym(3.5 ppm) was weakly correlated with pathological grade. The Kapp, Dapp, and MTRasym(3.5 ppm) were all weakly correlated with pathological stage. Both DKI and APTWI can be used in preliminary evaluations of CC, but DKI has advantages in the identification of pathological type, grade, and stage. • PTWI and DKI provide new information regarding cervical cancer. • MTRasym(3.5 ppm), D app , and K app are valid parameters to characterize tissue microstructure. • DKI is superior to APTWI in the study of cervical cancer.

Global warming has already had a significant impact on social ecosystems. The Tibetan Plateau (TP), which is characterized by a cryosphere, is also recognized to have a profound influence on regional and global climate systems, as well as the ecological economy. Therefore, research on the cryosphere is of significant importance. This paper comprehensively reviews the current status and recent changes of the cryosphere (e.g., glacier, snow cover, and frozen ground) in the TP from the perspectives of observations and simulations. Because of enhanced climate warming in the TP, a large portion of glaciers have experienced significant retreat since the 1960s, with obvious regional differences. The retreat is the smallest in the TP interior, and gradually increases towards the edges. Glacier simulations are comparatively few and still under development. Snow cover is a highly sensitive element of the cryosphere and decreases with large interdecadal variations from the 1960s to the 2010s in general. Simulations of snow cover mostly focus on the mutual feedback between the snow cover anomaly, climate and atmospheric circulation. In situ observations and simulations both indicate that the mean annual temperature of frozen ground increases, causing permafrost thaw and degradation and decreasing the seasonal freeze depth of seasonally frozen ground. Under future climate warming, the cryospheric elements in the TP will continue to diminish on the whole. Studies of climate and the cryosphere are ongoing. To date, the lack of observations is the biggest challenge on the TP, resulting in a divergence of cryosphere dynamics and its simulation being a bottleneck. To overcome these issues, a strategy that combines sets of in situ and remote sensing measurements and improved numerical models is of great importance for achieving breakthroughs with respect to research on the TP cryosphere and its interaction with climate.

Land surface albedo plays a crucial role in the land surface energy budget and climate. This paper identified the spatiotemporal variations of surface albedo on the Tibetan Plateau (TP) from 1982 to 2015, and quantified the relationships between the spatial and temporal patterns of the albedo and associated influencing factors (snow cover, vegetation, and soil moisture) on the seasonal and interannual basis using satellite products and reanalysis data. It was determined that the albedo presented a distinct spatial variability, with high values in mountainous areas and low values on the southeastern TP. Spatially, average albedo exhibited a positive correlation with snow cover and negative correlations with vegetation and soil moisture. Average albedo over the whole TP had a clear seasonal cycle with a peak in winter and a minimum value in summer, which is dictated by seasonal changes in snow and vegetation covers. Annual average albedo exhibited a weakly downward trend, which was mainly contributed by a significant decrease in summer, pointing to the important role in vegetation dynamics for temporal change of the albedo. On the regional basis, interannual variation of albedo was more responsive to snow cover over the snow- and vegetation-coexisting area than the snow-covered area, and to changes in Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) over the vegetation-covered area than the snow- and vegetation-coexisting area; albedo had a weakly negative correlation with soil moisture over bare soil. Furthermore, our results indicated that snow cover was the dominant factor for albedo change on mountainous areas, and vegetation change predominated the variation of albedo on the eastern, southern, and northwestern TP. Specifically, variations in snow cover contributed more than those of vegetation to the interannual albedo variation over the Three Rivers Headwater Region. These results would be beneficial for better understanding the climate and eco-environment changes over the TP.

BACKGROUND: Noninvasive identification of the histological features of endometrioid adenocarcinoma is necessary. This study aimed to investigate whether amide proton transfer-weighted imaging (APTWI) and multimodel (monoexponential, biexponential, and stretched exponential) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) could predict the histological grade of endometrial adenocarcinoma (EA). In addition, we analyzed the correlation between each parameter and the Ki-67 index. METHODS: A total of 90 EA patients who received pelvic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were enrolled. The magnetization transfer ratio asymmetry [MTRasym (3.5 ppm)], apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), diffusion coefficient (D), pseudo-diffusion coefficient (D*), perfusion fraction (f), distributed diffusion coefficient (DDC), and water molecular diffusion heterogeneity index (α) were measured and compared. Correlation coefficients between each parameter and histological grade and the Ki-67 index were calculated. Statistical methods included the independent samples t test, Spearman’s correlation, and logistic regression. RESULTS: MTRasym (3.5 ppm) [(3.72%±0.31%) vs. (3.27%±0.48%)], f [(3.15%±0.36%) vs. (2.69%±0.83%)], and α [(0.89±0.05) vs. (0.81±0.09)] were higher and ADC [(0.82±0.08) vs. (0.89±0.10) ×10(−3) mm(2)/s], D [(0.67±0.09) vs. (0.81±0.11) ×10(−3) mm(2)/s], and DDC [(1.04±0.09) vs. (1.13±0.13) ×10(−3) mm(2)/s] were lower in high-grade EA than in low-grade EA (P

Climate changes may pose challenges to water management. Simulation and projection of climate-runoff processes through hydrological models are essential means to assess the impact of global climate change on runoff variations. This study focuses on the upper Taohe River Basin which is an important water sources for arid and semi-arid regions in Northwest China. In order to assess the impacts of environmental changes, outputs from a regional climate model and the SWAT hydrological model were used to analyze the future climate change scenarios to water resources quantitatively. The examined climate changes scenarios results showed that average annual temperature from 2020 to 2099 in this area exhibits a consistent warming trend with different warming rates, at rates of 0.10°C/10a, 0.20°C /10a and 0.54°C /10a under RCP2.6, RCP4.5 and RCP8.5(Representative Concentration Pathways, RCPs), The value of precipitation experiences different trends under different emission scenarios. Under the RCP2.6, average precipitation would decrease at a rate of 3.69 mm/10a, while under the RCP4.5 and RCP8.5, it would increase at rates of 4.97 mm/10a and 12.28 mm/10a, respectively. The calibration and validation results in three in-site observations (Luqu, Xiabagou and Minxian) in the upper Taohe River Basin showed that SWAT hydrological model is able to produce an acceptable simulation of runoff at monthly time-step. In response to future climate changes, projected runoff change would present different decreasing trends. Under RCP2.6, annual average runoff would experience a progress of fluctuating trend, with a rate of-0.6×108m3 by 5-year moving average method; Under the RCP4.5 and RCP8.5, annual average runoff would show steadily increasing trends, with rates of 0.23×108m3 and 0.16×108m3 by 5-year moving average method. The total runoff in the future would prone to drought and flood disasters. Overall, this research results would provide a scientific reference for reginal water resources management on the long term.

It is of great significance to explore the remediation pattern in actual heavy metal (HM) contaminated sites. The field trial was carried out to research the remediation effect of biochar near a lead-zinc smelter in Feng County, China, under the rotation condition of different crops. This kind of cultivation mode is very representative in northern of China. And the pattern of production and restoration is suitable for scarce land resources and large food demand in China. The changes of soil physiochemical properties with the biochar addition, crop growth and the accumulated HMs by crops were focused on. The results showed the biochar application was excellent in improving soil nutrient elements and crop growth. The contents of TK were more obvious than those of TN and TP, with an increase of 2.6%-28.2% compared with the controls (without the addition of biochar). The yield of first season crops, i.e., soybean and corn, increased by 30%-42% and 34%-61%, respectively, and the second season crops, i.e., rape and wheat, with the increment of 25%-41% and 9%-29%, respectively. The availability forms of Cd and Pb decreased by 1.07-10.0% and 2.92-8.35%, respectively. While the improvement on the status of the HMs accumulated by crops was disappointing. The contents of HMs accumulated by crops increased to varying degrees (e.g., Pb and Zn in root, Cu and Pb in grain, and Cd in stems and leaves). Moreover, the concentrations of HMs in seeds of crops were higher than the limited levels given by the Chinese directive. Considering the results of the study and food safety, it is suggested to change the nature of the land around the smelter into woodland or construction land to prohibit the cultivation of food crops in this area.

It is of great significance to explore the remediation pattern in heavy metal (HM) contaminated soil under the actual farming mode. This field trial was carried out under the rotation condition s (soybean-rape, corn-wheat) lasting for a 2-crop season near a lead-zinc smelter, exploring the effect of biochar on the physical and chemical properties of rhizosphere soil, crop yield, total and different forms of HMs in soil, and the HM accumulation by crops. No significant change in pH in soil was observed, as did the EC values with a low dose of biochar added. The contents of TK increased by 0.87% ~ 28.2% with the biochar addition compared with the controls. The effect of high-dose biochar on increasing the nutrient elements in soil was obvious. Additionally, the contents of soil total humic carbon(THC) increased significantly ( P < 0.05) by 3.7% ~ 72.7%. The yield of first season crops (soybean and corn) increased by 30% ~ 42% and 34% ~ 61% respectively, as did the second season crops of rape (25% ~ 41%) and wheat (9% ~ 29%). Furthermore, the reduction in the availability form (F1+F2) of Cd and Pb was 1.07-10.0% and 2.92-8.35%, respectively, while there was a tendency of Zn to increase. The biochar addition led to significant differences in the soil total contents of HMs. The contents of HMs accumulated by crops increased, although biochar significantly ( P < 0.05) decreased the total contents of Pb and Zn in soil.The Cd, Pb and Zn accumulation in stems and leaves of crops was higher than that in roots. This study helped clarify the sustainable effect of biochar on the bioavailability of HMs under rotation conditionsand could be used to guide the remediation of contaminated soil in actual mining areas.

Despite the importance of the Yellow River to China, regional climate change over the middle reach of the Yellow River Basin (YRB) is much less assessed than other regions. This work focuses on historical and future spatiotemporal changes in mean and extreme temperature and precipitation over the upper and middle reaches of the YRB. The future mean and extreme climates for near-term (2021−2040), mid-term (2041−2060), and far-term (2081−2100) in relation to the historical (1976−2005) period are investigated based on the latest REgional MOdel (REMO). REMO driven by three CMIP5 GCMs under historical and future (RCP 2.6 and 8.5) forcings, following the Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiment (CORDEX) protocol for the East Asia domain at a spatial resolution of 0.22°, are provided by the Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS). The results show that REMO reproduces the historical mean climate state and six selected climate extreme indices reasonably well, although cold and wet biases still exist. For the far-term, mean temperature rise in winter is most remarkable, with an average of 5.9 °C under RCP8.5. As expected, future temperatures of the warmest day and the coldest night would increase and the number of frost days (FD) would decline considerably. Further, high altitude region would experience a higher mean temperature increase than low altitude region, which is likely caused by the snow-albedo feedback. The decline in FD would increase with elevation, especially under a higher emission. A substantial precipitation increase (32%) would occur in winter under RCP8.5 for the far-term period. Precipitation projections in summer and autumn vary spatially, decrease under RCP2.6 whereas increase under RCP8.5 in the whole YRB for the far-term period. Meanwhile, interannual variability of mean precipitation is expected to increase over most parts of the YRB. Future precipitation extremes, such as the daily intensity and maximum five-day precipitation are projected to increase, and the number of consecutive dry days would decline by the end of the 21st century under the RCP8.5 scenario. The results highlight that the pronounced warming in the high-altitude region together with more intense rainfall extremes could lead to increased future flood risk in the middle and lower reaches of the YRB if the high GHGs emission pathway will be followed.

Typhoon and windstorm induced extreme winds (e.g., daily maximum wind speed, DMWS) cause enormous economic losses and deaths in China every year, and rapid urbanization increased surface roughness might play a key role in extreme wind speed variability. Here, observed near-surface (at 10 m height) DMWS from 115 meteorological stations and combined DMSP/OLS (Defense Meteorological Satellite Program/Operational Linescan System) and NPP/VIIRS (Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership/Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite) nighttime light data from 1992-2016 in Yangtze River Delta, a rapidly urbanized area of China, were used to analyze the impact of urbanization on DMWS variability. Raw wind speed observations were subject to a robust quality control and homogenization protocol using the Climatol package. The stations were firstly classified into six urbanized groups by the difference of nighttime light indices of each station between 1992 and 2016. The results show that DMWS in Yangtze River Delta has significantly (p < 0.05) declined by -0.209m s-1 decade-1 annually, with negative trends in most seasons, particularly in winter (-0.470 m s-1 decade-1, p < 0.05) and autumn (-0.300 m s-1 decade-1, p < 0.05), followed by spring (-0.178 m s-1 decade-1, p > 0.10), while a weak increase in summer DMWS was found (+0.002 m s-1 decade-1, p > 0.10). The stations in the highly urbanized group show a higher magnitude in the decline of annual DMWS, indicating the key role of urbanization in weakening DMWS. Further, this is confirmed by the regional climate model (RegCM4) sensitive experiments conducted with different land use and cover data, that is, DMWS in 1992 was higher in the experiment using the real land use and cover data than in the experiment using the land use and cover data in 2016.

To compare the value of amide proton transfer-weighted imaging (APTWI) and diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) in differentiating benign and malignant breast lesions and analyze the correlations between the derived parameters and prognostic factors of breast cancer. One hundred thirty-five women underwent breast APTWI and DKI. The magnetization transfer ratio asymmetry (MTRasym (3.5 ppm)), apparent kurtosis coefficient (Kapp), and non-Gaussian diffusion coefficient (Dapp) were calculated according to the histological subtype, grade, and prognostic factors (Ki-67, estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER-2), lymph node metastasis, and maximum lesion diameter). The differences, efficacy, and correlation between the parameters were determined. The Kapp value was higher and the Dapp and MTRasym (3.5 ppm) values were lower in the malignant group than in the benign group (all p < 0.001; AUC (Kapp) = 0.913, AUC (Dapp) = 0.910, and AUC (MTRasym (3.5 ppm)) = 0.796). The differences in the AUC between Kapp and MTRasym (3.5 ppm) and between Dapp and MTRasym (3.5 ppm) were significant (p = 0.023, 0.046). Kapp was moderately correlated with the pathological grade (|r| = 0.724) and mildly correlated with Ki-67 and HER-2 expression (|r| = 0.454, 0.333). Dapp was moderately correlated with the pathological grade (|r| = 0.648) and mildly correlated with Ki-67 expression (|r| = 0.400). MTRasym (3.5 ppm) was only mildly correlated with the pathological grade (|r| = 0.468). DKI is superior to APTWI in differentiating between benign and malignant breast lesions. Each parameter is correlated with some prognostic factors to a certain extent. • DKI and APTWI provide valuable information regarding lesion characterization. • K app , D app , and MTRasym (3.5 ppm) are valid parameters for the characterization of tissue microstructure. • DKI is superior to APTWI in the study of breast cancer.

In order to study the safy of secondary cables in substation, the influences of soil resistivity, short circuit current, distance, grounding grid parameters and cable parameter on the core-to-sheath potential difference and shielding layer current are investigated. It is shown that the core-to-sheath potential difference and shielding layer current change little with soil resistivity, and increase linearly with the increase of short-circuit current, and decrease with the increase of distance. The core-to-sheath potential difference increases with the increase of side length of grounding grid and cable length.

Secondary cable is an important equipment for ubiquitous power Internet of things to transmit information. When the substation grounding grid is struck by lightning, part of the lightning current flows through the shielding layer of secondary cable and produces core-to-sheath potential difference, which seriously threatens the safety of the secondary system. Fourier transform was used to decompose the lightning current in frequency domain, and the core-to-sheath potential difference at the end of the secondary cable was obtained by calculating the shielding layer current and transfer impedance at each frequency component. The effects of soil resistivity, lightning current waveform, distance between lightning stroke point and cable and grounding grid on the core-to-skin potential difference of secondary cable were studied. It is shown that the core-to-sheath potential difference of secondary cable increases with the increase of soil resistivity, the peak value, and the tail time of lightning current. The core-to-sheath potential difference decreases with the increase of the distance, while the core-to-sheath potential difference increases with the increase of conductor spacing of the grounding grid. The core-to-sheath potential difference with copper grounding grid is smaller than that with steel grounding grid.

Rapid composting by black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) may be insufficient to maturation and humification of composting and further composting is necessary. The purpose of this study was to explore cornstalk addition on toxic metals (Cu, Zn, Pb and Cd), toxic metals resistance bacterial (TMRB) destiny and their relationship with physicochemical factors during BSFL manure composting. High-throughput sequencing was performed by six treatments, namely T1 to T6, where T1 to T3 were BSFL manures from chicken, pig and dairy manure, respectively, and T4 to T6 were same manures and utilized cornstalk to adjust C/N to 25. The results showed that cornstalk amendment could enhance the toxic metals immobilization rate compared to control treatments in the ultimate product. TMRB indicated that the major potential hosts bacteria were Firmicutes, Bacteroidota, Proteobacteria, Acidobacteriota and Actinobacteriota, and the sum relative abundance were 63.33%, 90.62%, 83.62%, 69.38%, 50.66% and 90.52% in T1 to T6 at the end of composting. Bacteria diversity and heat map revealed composting micro-ecology with additive cornstalk to remarkably effect main resistant bacterial distribution via adjusting environmental factors and potential hosts bacterial. Finally, T5 treatment was able to greatly decrease the TMRB abundance, and improve the ability of composting and ultimate product quality.

This study presents the Hf-Nd-Sr isotopic compositions of eolian dust deposited on glacier snowpacks along a longitude transect on the eastern Tibetan Plateau, in order to trace its source areas and the provenance of long-range transported (LRT) Asian dust on the eastern margin of Tibetan Plateau. Most of the glacier snowpack samples from northern locations (Qiyi and Lenglongling Glaciers) indicated similar Hf-Nd-Sr isotopic ratios with that of large central Asian deserts. However, the southern locations (Dagu, Hailuogou, and Baishui Glaciers) showed dramatic difference in the Hf-Nd-Sr isotopic ratios of snowpack dust compared with those of large Asian deserts, but were more similar to that of Tibetan Plateau surface crust. Hf-Nd isotopes indicated that the southern Tibetan Plateau locations are hardly influenced by central Asian dust, but probably influenced by southward dust transport from the Loess Plateau, in addition to the arid deserts on the Tibetan Plateau surface. Meteorological data and aerosol optical depth also demonstrated the potential differences of eolian dust transport and input between the north and south locations. Loess Plateau is even in today's climate a dust sink, but dust emission from the Loess Plateau is also possible. The influence of the Tibetan Plateau and southwest vortex of China to atmospheric circulation may have caused such eolian transport, in particular for LRT eolian dust transport to southeastern Tibetan Plateau glaicers. This study is also of importance in that the Hf-Nd isotopic fingerprinting could provide new evidences for LRT dust deposition on the Tibetan Plateau. Plain Language Summary This study is aimed to examine the spatial variation of eolian dust transport and deposition in the eastern margin of Tibetan Plateau, for which the sources and provenance of the dust deposited in high elevation glaciers have not been investigated. The dust transport route is also important for understanding regional atmospheric circulation and climate. This study is thus intended to provide a better understanding of long-range transported dust transport and dust deposition on the eastern margin of Tibetan Plateau. Hf-Nd isotopic fingerprinting is used to provide new evidence for tracing long-range transported dust in high mountain glaicers when compared with Nd-Sr isotopes.
