In vehicular communications, the vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) links have strict requirements on transmission latency. However, the widely utilized infinite blocklength coding for the V2V links results in inevitable high latency. With finite blocklength coding in the V2V links, this letter devotes allocating power, spectrum, and blocklength in the vehicle-to-everything (V2X) networks, which minimizes the V2V links’ latency subject to constraints on the reliability of the V2V links and the ergodic capacity of the vehicle-to-network (V2N) links for the case where each V2V link can reuse the spectrum of at most one V2N link. By transforming the data rate outage probability into a tractable form and using bisection search, the optimal solution is obtained by the proposed algorithm. The simulation results validate the effectiveness and superiority of our proposal.

Wireless powered devices suffer from dynamic energy arrival in case of fast fading channel conditions caused by high mobility of the energy base station (BS), which may lead to energy outage for practical applications executed at the wireless device (WD). We use effective bandwidth theory to investigate the tail distribution of the WD's energy queue, from which the energy outage probability (EOP) is derived. Then, a power control problem is proposed to minimize the mobile vehicular BS's transmit power while guaranteeing the EOP for the WD, which can be equivalently addressed by solving a single equation. The match between simulation results and theoretical analysis demonstrates the validity of the proposed EOP analysis. Furthermore, the proposed scheme can reduce the power consumption of the vehicular BS while guaranteeing EOP requirement of the WD.

Twenty crude oil samples were obtained from the Gudong Oilfield and their organic geochemical characteristics were analyzed. The oil samples were classified into three families by hierarchical cluster analysis and principal component analysis based on 13 source-related and depositional environment-related biomarker parameters. Oils in family I have low ratios of C19/C23 tricyclic terpanes and C24 tetracyclic terpane/C26 tricyclic terpanes, and relatively high ratios of steranes/hopanes and C30 4-methylsteranes/ααα20R C29 sterane, thus indicating that microalgae were the dominant organic matter input for the source rocks of family I. The gammacerane/C30 hopane ratios are higher than that of family II and family III, whereas the C35/C34 homohopane ratios are lower, thus indicating a suboxic, brackish water environment for the source rocks. The inferred source rock is the first member of the Shahejie Formation in the Huanghekou Sag. Family II is characterized by high ratios of C19/C23 tricyclic terpanes and C24 tetracyclic terpane/C26 tricyclic terpanes but relatively low ratios of steranes/hopanes and C27/C29 αααR steranes. These findings suggest that the original organic matter of the source rocks had a greater contribution from terrigenous higher plants than from microalgal. The relatively low ratios of gammacerane/C30 hopane and C35/C34 homohopane suggest that the source rocks were deposited in an oxic environment with a low salinity, thus corresponding to the Dongying Formation in the Huanghekou Sag. Family III oils have high C27/C29 ααααR steranes ratios and low C30 4-methylsteranes/ααα20R C29 ratios, which indicate the contribution of microalgae (especially zooplankton algae) to the source rocks. The relatively high abundance of C35 homohopane and low gammacerane/C30 hopane ratios suggest a weakly reducing condition with low salinity, which is in accordance with the third member of the Shahejie Formation in the Gunan Sag. The C31S/(S + R) homohopane ratios imply that oil samples in this study are in the mature stage, although the ratios of C2920S/(20S + 20R) and C29ββ/(αα + ββ) steranes suggest that the maturity of family II is higher than that of family I and family III.

A total of 46 crude oil samples recovered from the surrounding Niuzhuang sag were investigated to gain insight into the petroleum systems in the Dongying depression. Chemometrics identified four genetically distinct oil families. Family 1 fails to match any of the source rocks that have been discovered thus far. The candidate source rock must contain algal organic matter that could produce more negative carbon isotopic composition, large quantities of wax, C29 steranes, and tricyclic terpenoids compared to the Eocene Shahejie (Es) Formation intervals Es3 and Es4 and deposited in a reducing, stratified saline water environment. Family 2 is featured by high ratios of sterane/hopane, gammacerane/hopane, and C35/C34 homohopane and low pristane/phytane ratios. The source rock is the upper Es4 interval. Family 3 is characterized by distinctive or even opposite features to family 2. The source rock is the lower Es3 interval. Family 4 is a mixed oil derived from the lower Es3 and upper Es4 source rocks at different thermal maturation. Three end-member oil samples, EM1, EM2, and EM3, were identified by alternating least-squares. As a minor contributor, EM1 has an average value of 10%. As the main contributors, EM2 and EM3 average 53% and 37%, respectively. Oil samples from EM1 and EM2 are derived from the upper Es4 source rock, but EM1 was generated at a lower thermal maturity than EM2. Oil from EM3 was derived from the lower Es3 source rock at peak hydrocarbon generation.

X-ray powder diffraction data, unit-cell parameters, and space group for N,N-dimethyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-amine, C9H11N3, are reported [a = 11.379(3) Å, b = 10.227(5) Å, c = 7.151(1) Å, α = 90°, β = 90°, γ = 90°, unit-cell volume V = 832.318 Å3, Z = 4, ρcal = 1.286 g cm−3, and space group P21212]. All measured lines were indexed and were consistent with the P21212 space group. No detectable impurities were observed.

BackgroundThe influence of leukoaraiosis in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) given intra-arterial treatment (IAT) with or without preceding intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) remains unknown.ObjectiveTo assess the clinical and radiological outcomes of IAT in patients with or without leukoaraiosis.MethodsPatients of the direct mechanical thrombectomy trial (DIRECT-MT) whose leukoaraiosis grade could be assessed were included. DIRECT-MT was a randomized clinical trial performed in China to assess the effect of direct IAT compared with intravenous thrombolysis plus IAT. We employed the Age-Related White Matter Changes Scale for grading leukoaraiosis (ARWMC, 0 indicates no leukoaraiosis, 1–2 indicates mild-to-moderate leukoaraiosis, and 3 indicates severe leukoaraiosis) based on brain CT. The primary outcome was the score on the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) assessed at 90 days.ResultsThere were 656 patients in the trial, 649 patients who were included, with 432 patients without leukoaraiosis, and 217 (33.4%) patients with leukoaraiosis divided into mild-to-moderate (n=139) and severe groups (n=78). Leukoaraiosis was a predictor of a worse mRS score (adjusted OR (aOR)=0.7 (95% CI 0.5 to 0.8)) and higher mortality (aOR=1.4 (1.1 to 1.9)), but it was not associated with symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) (aOR=0.9 (0.5 to 1.5)). IVT preceding IAT did not increase sICH risk for patients with no (aOR=1.4 (0.6 to 3.4)), mild-to-moderate (aOR=1.5 (0.3 to 7.8)), or severe (aOR=1.5 (0.1 to 21.3)) leukoaraiosis.ConclusionPatients with leukoaraiosis with AIS due to large vessel occlusion are at increased risk of a poor functional outcome after IAT but demonstrate similar sICH rates, and IVT preceding IAT does not increase the risk of sICH in Chinese patients with leukoaraiosis.

To investigate whether hyperdense areas (HDAs) observed after endovascular treatment on multisection computed tomography (CT) are related to outcome.Data on 82 patients with acute anterior circulation ischaemic stroke resulting from intracranial large artery occlusion were analysed retrospectively All patients underwent mechanical thrombectomy and/or emergency angioplasty, and partial or complete recanalisation was successfully achieved. C-arm CT was performed immediately after endovascular treatment for all patients. Clinical and radiological data were compared between patients with and those without HDA and between patients with good and those with poor outcomes.Compared with non-HDA patients, HDA patients were more likely to present with severe neurological deficits (admission National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale [NIHSS] score: 18 versus 16, p=0.037) and had a higher number of stent retriever passes performed (2.9±1.3 versus 1.4±1, p0.001), longer onset-to-presentation times (229±78 versus 171±90 minutes; p=0.002), longer onset-to-recanalisation times (418±94 versus 331±105 minutes; p0.001), and longer puncture-to-recanalisation times (103±47 versus 69±42 minutes; p=0.001). Fewer HDA patients had a good prognosis (35.7% versus 70%, p0.001). Multivariate analysis showed the presence of HDAs was an independent negative prognostic factor (OR=0.208; p=0.002).HDAs on C-arm CT appear to be common in patients with acute ischaemic stroke who underwent successful endovascular treatment. HDA presence suggests a poor prognosis despite successful reperfusion.

In this paper, we synthesized a ratiometric fluorescence probe (IRh-Ly) for lysosomal hypochlorous acid (HOCl) by adopting a through-bond energy transfer (TBET) strategy on rhodamine-imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine platform. IRh-Ly showed brilliant selectivity, rapid response for HOCl. The probe also exhibited high sensitivity with the detection limit calculated to be 10.2 nM. Moreover, we demonstrated its successful application of detecting lysosomal HOCl in living RAW264.7 cells. Notably, the morpholine was integrated into the fluorescent probe IRh-Ly and the results revealed that IRh-Ly could target lysosome and detect the lysosomal HOCl. All the unique features made IRh-Ly particularly suitable for ratiometric HOCl detection and bio-imaging applications.

Background and Objective The prognosis of progressive ischemic stroke (PIS) caused by large proximal artery occlusion with hemodynamic was poor. Our study aimed to investigate the safety of endovascular therapy (ET) for patients with PIS who were selected based on ischemic penumbra detected on brain imaging. Methods A cohort of consecutive patients with PIS, who were treated with ET, were identified. Patients were selected for ET based on the presence of ischemic penumbra using magnetic resonance imaging. Clinical outcome includes 90-day modified Rankin scale, mortality, and symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH) rate. Multivariate analysis was performed to compare treatment time of ≤6 hours (early) with >6 hours (late) after stroke. Results One hundred forty-eight patients were treated (100 early and 48 late). Compared with the early group, more successful recanalization rate in the late group (100% vs. 89%, P = 0.017), lower mortality (2.1% vs. 12%, P = 0.046), better clinical outcome (modified Rankin scale score ≤2, 81.3% vs. 65%, P = 0.046), and sICH rate was similar between the 2 groups (7.0% vs. 9.5%, P = 1.00). Only pretreatment National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score (odds ratio [OR] = 0.836, P = 0.025), successful recanalization (OR = 7.077, P = 0.038), collateral status (OR = 3.121, P = 0.016), and sICH (OR = 0.053, P = 0.013) were predictors of a good prognosis. Conclusions In appropriately selected patients with PIS, ET can be performed safely. Furthermore, randomized clinical trials are needed to assess its effectiveness.

Fifty-seven crude oil samples from the southern Dongying Depression were selected for detailed geochemical analysis. High C26/C25 tricyclic terpanes (0.81–1.26) and low C31 homohopane (R)/C30 hopane (0.15–0.26) ratios indicate that the oils are from lacustrine source rocks. The presence of C30 4α-methyl-24-ethylcholestanes and C30 tetracyclic polyprenoids imply the contribution of microalgal organic matter. Large variations of depositional environment-related biomarker parameters suggest differences in organofacies and water environment. Four genetically distinct oil families were differentiated by chemometrics of hierarchical cluster and principal component analyses using the parameter dataset of three isotope ratios and 15 molecular parameters, all related to source and depositional environment. Family I is mature and does not match any available source rocks. The inferred source rock contains microalgal material that could produce large quantities of wax, C29 steranes and tricyclic terpenoids in a reducing, salinity stratified water column. Family II is characterized by a strong phytane dominance, relatively high gammacerane and C35 homohopanes, and low diasterane and 4-methyl sterane contents. It has high values of sterane/hopane (S/H = 1.67–4.14), C35/C34 homohopane (C35H/C34H = 0.81–1.66) and gammacerane/C30 hopane (G/C30H = 0.57–1.13) and low pristane/phytane (Pr/Ph = 0.30–0.59), suggesting that the inferred source rock is the upper Es4 interval. Family III has characteristics distinct from families I and II: low S/H (0.15–0.27), C35H/C34H (0.39–0.49) and G/C30H (0.03–0.12) ratios and high Pr/Ph (0.48–1.90), C30-4M/C29 ααα20R (0.54–1.18) and C30 tetracyclic polyprenoid (0.54–0.66) ratios, suggesting that the source rock is the lower Es3 interval. The family IV oils are compositionally in-between the ranges of families II and III oils, and in line with them in plots of geochemical parameters. We suggest that family IV consists of mixed oils derived from the upper Es4 and lower Es3 intervals. Family II has a relatively low thermal maturity and the inferred source rock may be located in the Niuzhuang Sag and/or the southern gentle slope zone. Family III is mature and its inferred source rock may be situated in the Lijin and Boxing sags. The upper Es4 and lower Es3 source rocks in the three sags contribute the crude oils of family IV that occurs in the middle and eastern parts of the southern Dongying Depression.

Numerous outbreak investigations and case-control studies of campylobacteriosis have provided evidence that handling Campylobacter -contaminated chicken products is a high risk factor for infection and illness. In this study, the cross-contamination and transfer rates of Campylobacter jejuni from chicken to ready-to-eat foods were determined in various food-handling scenarios. Skinless raw chicken breasts were artificially contaminated with Campylobacter jejuni and diced on three kinds of texture cutting boards. Whether cold water or cold water with detergent or hot water was used, statistically significant differences were found between the transfer rate of Campylobacter jejuni to unwashed and washed cutting boards or hands, respectively. When both kitchen knife and cutting board were reused after dicing the artificially contaminated chicken, the transfer rates of Campylobacter jejuni to cucumber cut on bamboo, wooden and plastic cutting board were 16.28%, 12.82% and 5.32%, respectively. The transfer rates from chicken to bread, a large lift-up water faucet handle and a small twist faucet handle via unwashed hands were 0.49%, 4.64% and 3.14%, respectively. This research provides scientific evidence that various types of contaminated kitchen-ware and cook's hand are vital potential vehicles for the cross-contamination of Campylobacter from raw chicken to ready-to-eat food, and emphasizes the importance of timely and properly cleaning to prevent cross-contamination during food handling, therefore a high quality consumer education to reduce the risk of foodborne infection is urgent and necessary.

The differentiation of intracranial atherosclerosis (ICAS) and embolism is important.In cases of ICAS, we observe a phenomenon that we call the "post-stent-deployment effect"; that is, all major branches are clearly visible beyond the occlusion segment when the stent is deployed at the site of occlusion. Our objective is to evaluates whether this post-stent-deployment effect can be used to differentiate ICAS from embolism in the distal M1 segment occlusion.We conduct a retrospective study which reviewed consecutive patients with acute distal M1 segment and in whom recanalization was achieved by endovascular treatment. The post-stent-deployment effect was assessed in these patients. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive values (PPV), and accuracy of the post-stent-deployment effect for prediction of ICAS were assessed.From January 2015 to July 2018, a total of 80 patients were evaluated. The post-stent-deployment effect was more frequently observed in patients with ICAS than in those with embolism (100% vs 15.0%, P .001). For identifying ICAS in distal M1 segment, the sensitivity, specificity, PPV, and accuracy of the post-stent-deployment effect were 100%, 85.0%, 69.0%, and 88.7%, respectively.Our study finds that the sensitivity and accuracy of the post-stent-deployment effect in predicting distal M1 segment ICAS occlusion in patients with acute symptoms was high, and it may be useful in identifying ICAS lesion.

Objective Initial stenotic occlusion of the internal carotid artery with intracranial artery occlusion in acute ischemic stroke is associated with high morbidity and can benefit from endovascular therapy. However, the optimal endovascular strategy is unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of the “half” anterograde approach and clinical outcome of treated patients. Revascularization validity of the 2 “half” anterograde approach with (Protect-Expand-Aspiration-Revascularization-Stent [PEARS] technique) or without (plain technique) using an embolic prevention device and aspiration was also compared. Methods Data on initial stenotic occlusion of the internal carotid artery with intracranial artery occlusion in our prospective stroke registry database between January 2015 and February 2017 were collected. Clinical and angiographic data were retrospectively analyzed. Clinical outcome was evaluated at 3 months, defined as a modified Rankin scale ≤2 as a good clinical outcome. Results Overall, 26 patients with tandem occlusion were included; 96.3% of patients had successful recanalization. The rate of a good clinical outcome was 61.8%, symptomatic parenchymal hemorrhage was 7.7%, and mortality was 15.4%. The PEARS technique took less time (56 ± 14 vs. 97 ± 31 minutes; P = 0.002) and had less embolic events (0 vs. 30.8%; P = 0.012) compared with the plain technique. Use of the PEARS technique was an independent predictor for shortening revascularization time (β = −0.651, P = 0.001). Conclusions The half anterograde approach technique is feasible and safe for treating tandem occlusion. Furthermore, the PEARS technique is associated with a shorter reperfusion time and less embolic events than the plain technique, and should be recommended in tandem occlusion.

Both intra-arterial recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) and stent retrieval are effective for treating acute ischemic stroke. The goal of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of stent retrieval combined with intra-arterial rt-PA administration via micro-catheter (called the complex technique) in acute ischemic stroke.A retrospective analysis was performed of 93 consecutive patients treated between 2015 and 2017 for occlusions of the intracranial large artery using the complex technique (n=37) or stent retrieval alone (n=56) in our stroke center. Data on procedure duration, number of passes, and angiographic findings were collected. Successful recanalization was defined as the accomplishment of grade 3 or 2b modified Treatment in Cerebral Ischemia recanalization in 1 or 2 passes.Compared to the stent retrieval group, complex technique group had a higher successful revascularization rate with 1 or 2 passes with the stent retriever (81.1% versus 51.8%, P=0.004), a shorter procedure time (59±34min versus 94±56min, P0.001), fewer passes of the stent retriever (1.8±1.1 versus 2.5±1.4, P=0.012), a better prognosis (70.3% versus 48.2%, P=0.035), a lower embolic complication rate (18.9% versus 39.3%, P=0.038), similar mortality (13.5% versus 21.4%, P=0.334) and similar intracranial hemorrhage symptoms (2.7% versus 12.5%, P=0.204). Intra-arterial rt-PA administration was an independent negative predictor of procedure time (OR=-0.292, P=0.003).Mechanical thrombectomy utilizing stent retrieval combined with intra-arterial rt-PA administration in the anterior circulation of acute ischemic stroke patients improved the angiographic results and shortened the procedure duration without increasing adverse events.
