To evaluate the impact of hypertension on the clinical outcome of COVID-19 patients aged 60 years old and older.This single-center retrospective cohort study enrolled consecutive COVID-19 patients aged 60 years old and older, who were admitted to Liyuan Hospital from January 1, 2020 to April 25, 2020. All included patients were divided into two groups: hypertension and nonhypertension group. The baseline demographic characteristics, laboratory test results, chest computed tomography (CT) images and clinical outcomes were collected and analyzed. The prognostic value of hypertension was determined using binary logistic regression.Among the 232 patients included in the analysis, 105 (45.3%) patients had comorbid hypertension. Compared to the nonhypertension group, patients in the hypertension group had higher neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratios, red cell distribution widths, lactate dehydrogenase, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, D-dimer and severity of lung lesion, and lower lymphocyte counts (all P0.05). Furthermore, the hypertension group had a higher proportion of intensive care unit admissions [24 (22.9%) vs. 14 (11.0%), P=0.02) and deaths [16 (15.2%) vs. 3 (2.4%), P0.001] and a significantly lower probability of survival (P0.001) than the nonhypertension group. Hypertension (OR: 4.540, 95% CI: 1.203-17.129, P=0.026) was independently correlated with all-cause in-hospital death in elderly patients with COVID-19.The elderly COVID-19 patients with hypertension tend to have worse conditions at baseline than those without hypertension. Hypertension may be an independent prognostic factor of poor clinical outcome in elderly COVID-19 patients.

The rhamnogalacturonan acetylesterase gene (named pp1113), encoding a novel cold-adapted rhamnogalacturonan acetylesterase, was cloned from Paenibacillus polymyxa. pp1113 was functionally expressed in Escherichia coli by inducing expression at 20 °C for 16 h. The pH and temperature optimums for the recombinant enzyme were 8.5 and 30 °C, respectively. As an SGNH-type acetylesterase, pp1113 demonstrated high activity against acetyl ester substrates and could maintain approximately 60 % activity at 0 °C.The specific activity of purified pp1113 was 65.95 U/mg (C2). The Km and Vmax values of purified pp1113 were 3.89 mM and 81.07 μmol/min, respectively. We obtained an R232L variant with improved thermal stability and catalytic activity through site-directed mutagenesis. T1/2 of R232L at 50 °C increased from less than 30 min to 6 h when compared to wild-type pp1113, and T1/2 extended to 8 h after immobilization. The R232L mutant improved the conversion rate of 0.1 M cinnamyl alcohol at 40 °C to 94 % in the reaction of synthesis of cinnamyl acetate. After purification, the R232L mutant was immobilized (pH 8.0 phosphate buffer 0.5 M, 20 h at 20 °C, protein loading reached 17 mg/g). This was the first report of the rhamnogalacturonan acetylesterase gene obtained from Paenibacillus polymyxa with detailed enzymatic properties.

When the turning tool has worn and failed but the failure is not found, if it continues to be used for processing, it will break, and cause the workpiece to be scrapped, and even damage the machine tool. In order to avoid the loss caused by turning tool wear, the remaining useful life (RUL) prediction of turning tool wear has become a hot research topic in recent years. For RUL prediction in turning tools, the traditional machine is difficult to acquire sufficient degradation data and inconsistent data distribution among different turning tools in engineering, and they cannot provide better prediction accuracy to some extent. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a multi-granularity feature extraction (MGFE) method based on the gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) and random forest (RF). Moreover, a health indicator (HI) of turning tools in the source domain was obtained. The common representative features in HI sequence of target domain was transferred to source domain and builds the condition monitoring and life prediction system of turning tools based on extreme learning machine and transfer learning. Finally, extreme vector machine (ELM) is used to construct the RUL prediction model. The research results show that the model constructed in this paper is effective in RUL prediction and can significantly improve the prediction accuracy of remaining useful life.

Residual useful lifetime (RUL) prediction plays a key role of failure prediction and health management (PHM) in equipment. Aiming at the problems of residual life prediction without comprehensively considering multistage and individual differences in equipment performance degradation at present, we explore a prediction model that can fit the multistage random performance degradation. Degradation modeling is based on the random Wiener process. Moreover, according to the degradation monitoring data of the same batch of equipment, we apply the expectation maximization (EM) algorithm to estimate the prior distribution of the model. The real-time remaining life distribution of the equipment is acquired by merging prior information of real-time degradation data and historical degradation monitoring data. The accuracy of the proposed model is demonstrated by analyzing a practical case of metalized film capacitors, and the result shows that a better RUL estimation accuracy can be provided by our model compared with existing models.

BRI1-EMS-SUPPRESSOR 1 (BES1) transcription factor is closely associated with the brassinosteroid (BR) signaling pathway and plays an important role in plant growth and development. SLB3 is a member of BES1 transcription factor family and its expression was previously shown to increase significantly in tomato seedlings under drought stress. In the present study, we used virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) technology to downregulate SLB3 expression to reveal the function of the SLB3 gene under drought stress further. The downregulated expression of SLB3 weakened the drought tolerance of the plants appeared earlier wilting and higher accumulation of H2O2 and O2−·, decreased superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, and increased proline (PRO) and malondialdehyde (MDA) contents and peroxidase (POD) activity. Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis of BR-related genes revealed that the expression of SlCPD, SlDWARF and BIN2-related genes was significantly upregulated in SLB3-silenced seedlings under drought stress, but that the expression of TCH4-related genes was downregulated. These results showed that silencing the SLB3 gene reduced the drought resistance of tomato plants and had an impact on the BR signaling transduction which may be probably responsible for the variation in drought resistance of the tomato plants.

Hallux valgus is a common disease which causes pain and dysfunction of the foot. Although numerous methods of procedures have been introduced, a single procedure cannot correct all deformities of hallux valgus. The study aims to evaluate the radiographic and clinical effectiveness of a new minimally invasive surgery (MIS) versus open Chevron-Akin procedures.This was a retrospective comparative study. Data were collected from May 2018 to January 2020. A total of 27 patients (31 feet) undergoing MIS for hallux valgus were included in this study. The average age of patients underwent MIS was 59.9 years. The mean follow-up was 25.1 months. Open osteotomies were performed in 30 patients (31 feet) during the same period. The mean age of these patients at the time of surgery was 59.1 years. The mean follow-up was 26.1 months. Pre-operative and post-operative radiographic outcome measures included HVA, IMA, DMAA, the Sgarlato's angle and the length of the first metatarsal, and distance between the dorsal cortex of first and second metatarsal necks. The AOFAS and VAS were used to assess foot function.The preoperative HVA in MIS group and open group were 34.8° and 33.1° respectively. The post-operative HVA were 20.4° and 13.7°. The pre-operative IMA in MIS group and open group were 13.0° and 12.1°. The post-operative IMA were 11.4° and 5.5° respectively. The pre-operative DMAA were 14.8° and 15.1° respectively. The post-operative DMAA were 6.3° and 8.7°. The AOFAS increased from 44.0 to 90.2 in MIS group and from 47.6 to 89.5 in open group. The VAS decreased from 7.3 to 1.3 in MIS group and from 7.1 to 1.2 in open group.Although open osteotomies were superior than MIS in HVA and IMA, MIS showed advantages in correcting DMAA. MIS provided equivalent functional outcomes compared to open surgery.

Introduction Sialoliths can be removed by sialendoscopy in some cases. But sometimes it fails if the stone is located in the proximal or hilum of Wharton's duct. Aim To evaluate the clinical efficacy of the sialendoscopy-assisted intraoral incision approach to remove large stones located in the proximal or hilum of Wharton's duct, when sialendoscopy alone fails. Material and methods Twenty patients with large stones located in the proximal or hilum of Wharton's duct were included in our study. We used a sialendoscopy-assisted intraoral incision approach to remove large stones located in the proximal or hilum of Wharton's duct when endoscopy failed. The complications and treatment effect were observed. Results The stones were removed successfully in this way in all patients. Two cases had tongue numbness after the operation, and recovered 3 months later without additional intervention. No swelling or pain appeared during the 3-month to 1-year follow-up. Saliva could be observed from the orifice in 15 patients, with little or none in 5 patients. Conclusions The sialendoscopy-assisted intraoral incision approach to remove large stones located in the proximal or hilum of Wharton's duct is effective and safe.

N-glycosylation starts with the biosynthesis of lipid-linked oligosaccharide (LLO) on the endoplasmic reticulum. Alg2 mannosyltransferase adds both the α1,3- and α1,6-Man onto ManGlcNAc2-pyrophosphate-dolichol (M1Gn2-PDol) in either order to generate the branched M3Gn2-PDol product. The well-studied yeast Alg2 interacts with ER membrane through four hydrophobic domains. Unexpectedly, we show that Alg2 structure has diverged significantly between yeast and humans. Human Alg2 (hAlg2) associates with the ER via a single membrane-binding domain and is markedly more stable in vitro. These properties were exploited to develop an LC-MS quantitative kinetic assay for studying purified hAlg2. Under physiological conditions, hAlg2 prefers to transfer α1,3-Man on to M1Gn2 before adding the α1,6-Man. However, this bias is altered by an excess of GDP-Man donor or an increased level of M1Gn2 substrate, both of which trigger production of the M2Gn2 (α-1,6)-PDol. These results suggest that Alg2 may regulate the LLO biosynthetic pathway by controlling accumulation of M2Gn2 (α-1,6) intermediate.

Zinc finger-homeodomain proteins (ZF-HDs) are transcription factors that regulate plant growth, development, and abiotic stress tolerance. The SL-ZH13 gene was found to be significantly upregulated under drought stress treatment in tomato ( Solanum lycopersicum ) leaves in our previous study. In this study, to further understand the role that the SL-ZH13 gene plays in the response of tomato plants to drought stress, the virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) method was applied to downregulate SL-ZH13 expression in tomato plants, and these plants were treated with drought stress to analyze the changes in drought tolerance. The SL-ZH13 silencing efficiency was confirmed by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis. In SL-ZH13 -silenced plants, the stems wilted faster, leaf shrinkage was more severe than in control plants under the same drought stress treatment conditions, and the mean stem bending angle of SL-ZH13-silenced plants was smaller than that of control plants. Physiological analyses showed that the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and peroxidase (POD) and the content of proline (Pro) in SL-ZH13 -silenced plants were lower than those in control plants after 1.5 and 3 h of drought stress treatment. The malondialdehyde (MDA) content in SL-ZH13 -silenced plants was higher than that in control plants after 1.5 and 3 h of drought stress treatment, and H 2 O 2 and O 2 – · accumulated much more in the leaves of SL-ZH13- silenced plants than in the leaves of control plants. These results suggested that silencing the SL-ZH13 gene affected the response of tomato plants to drought stress and decreased the drought tolerance of tomato plants.

It is controversial whether supramalleolar osteotomy is suitable for Takakura Stage 3B osteoarthritis or not. The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcomes of supramalleolar osteotomy in patients with Takakura 3B osteoarthritis. From February 2008 to August 2013, supramalleolar osteotomy was performed in 21 patients matching the inclusion criteria. The mean patient age at operation was 53.7±5.8 years (range: 39 to 61 years). The mean duration of follow-up was 87.7±19.5 months (range: 61 to 125 months). The radiologic evaluation included the tibial articular surface (TAS) angle, tibial lateral surface (TLS) angle, and talar tilt (TT) angle. Functional assessment was performed with use of the AOFAS, VAS, SF-36, and AOS. All patients were followed. TAS angle improved from 82.8±2.4 to 90.3±2.3. TLS angle changed from 77.5±2.8 to 79.4±2.7. The preoperative TT angle and postoperative TT angle were 13.4±3.6 to 4.8±3.6, respectively. For functional evaluation, the preoperative VAS and AOFAS-AH scores were 5.7±1.3 and 48.0±15.8, while the postoperative VAS and AOFAS-AH scores were 2.5±1.9 and 74.8±11.5. The mean SF-36 scale improved from 41.2±13.1 to 66.7±14.9. The AOS score improved from 61.4±12.5 to 27.5±17.8. 1 patient underwent total ankle replacement 3 years postoperatively. 4 patients remained stage 3B including the TAR one. 4 improved to stage 3A, 11 improved to stage 2, and 2 improved to stage 1. Supramalleolar osteotomy combined with auxiliary procedures can restore the malalignment of ankle joint and modify the abnormal stress distribution so as to achieve functional improvement and improve radiographic stages.

Hyperhomocysteinemia (Hhcy) is an independent risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and insulin-resistance is commonly seen in patients with Hhcy. Liraglutide (Lir), a glucagon-like peptide that increases the secretion and sensitivity of insulin, has a neurotrophic or neuroprotective effect. However, it is not known whether Lir ameliorates the AD-like pathology and memory deficit induced by Hhcy. By vena caudalis injection of homocysteine to produce the Hhcy model in rats, we found here that simultaneous administration of Lir for 2 weeks ameliorated the Hhcy-induced memory deficit, along with increased density of dendritic spines and up-regulation of synaptic proteins. Lir also attenuated the Hhcy-induced tau hyperphosphorylation and Aβ overproduction, and the molecular mechanisms involved the restoration of protein phosphatase-2A activity and inhibition of β- and γ-secretases. Phosphorylated insulin receptor substrate-1 also decreased after treatment with Lir. Our data reveal that Lir improves the Hhcy-induced AD-like spatial memory deficit and the mechanisms involve the modulation of insulin-resistance and the pathways generating abnormal tau and Aβ.

To investigate the clinical efficacy of vertebral body stent (VBS) system and percutanous kyphoplasty (PKP) combined with zoledronic acid for the treatment of severely osteoporotic compression vertebral fractures (OVCFs).The clinical data of 48 patients with osteoporotic thoracolumbar fractures treated from December 2017 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed, including 13 males and 35 females, aged 55 to 92 years old with an average (71.2±10.5) years. All patients were treated with VBS system PKP surgery, and zoledronic acid injection was used for anti-osteoporosis treatment after operation. The VAS scores ODI, the height of diseasedvertebral lost were compared before operation, 3 d and half a year after operation, and whether there was re-fracture of diseased or adjacent vertevrae after operation was observed.Before operation, 3 d and half a year after operation, VAS scores were 7.60±0.12, 3.00±0.46, 1.20±0.23, ODI were(82.00±0.32)%, (30.00±1.50) %, (18.00±0.16) %, the height of diseased vertebral lost were (12.00±0.43) mm, (3.00± 0.15) mm, (3.60±0.51) mm respectively. Postoperative VAS score, ODI, the height of diseased vertebral lost were obviously improved (VBS system and PKP combined with zoledronic acid in the treatment of OVCFs not only may effectively relieve the pain in the thoracolumbar back, improve the mobility of the thoracolumbar, but also can restore the height of the vertebral body to the maximum extent, and prevent the re-fracture of the affected vertebrae and adjacent vertebrae, which is worthy to spread in clinic.

BackgroundThe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become a global pandemic currently. Many drugs showed potential for COVID-19 therapy. However, genetic factors which can lead to different drug efficiency and toxicity among populations are still undisclosed in COVID-19 therapy.MethodsWe selected 67 potential drugs for COVID-19 therapy (DCTs) from clinical guideline and clinical trials databases. 313 pharmaco-genes related to these therapeutic drugs were included. Variation information in 125,748 exomes were collected for racial differences analyses. The expression level of pharmaco-genes in single cell resolution was evaluated from single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data of 17 healthy adults.ResultsPharmacogenes, including CYP3A4, ABCB1, SLCO1B1, ALB, CYP3A5, were involved in the process of more than multi DCTs. 224 potential drug-drug interactions (DDIs) of DCTs were predicted, while 112 of them have been reported. Racial discrepancy of common nonsynonymous mutations was found in pharmacogenes including: VDR, ITPA, G6PD, CYP3A4 and ABCB1 which related to DCTs including ribavirin, α-interferon, chloroquine and lopinavir. Moreover, ACE2, the target of 2019-nCoV, was only found in parts of lung cells, which makes drugs like chloroquine that prevent virus binding to ACE2 more specific than other targeted drugs such as camostat mesylate.ConclusionsAt least 17 drugs for COVID-19 therapy with predictable pharmacogenes should be carefully utilized in risk races which are consisted of more risk allele carriers. At least 29 drugs with potential of DDIs are reported to be affected by other DDIs, they should be replaced by similar drugs without interaction if it is possible. Drugs which specifically targeted to infected cells with ACE2 such as chloroquine are preferred in COVID-19 therapy.

This study explored the denitrification performance of solid-phase denitrification (SPD) systems packed with poly (butylene succinate)/bamboo powder composite to treat synthetic aquaculture wastewater under different salinity conditions (0‰ Vs. 25‰). To understand the seasonal variation of the activated sludge (AS) bacterial community and identify core microbes in different wastewater processing systems, seasonal AS samples were taken from every biological treatment unit within 4 full-scale wastewater treatment plants. These plants adopted A2/O, A/O and oxidation ditch processes and were active in the treatment of different types and sources of wastewater, some domestic and others industrial. The bacterial community composition was analyzed using high-throughput sequencing technology. The correlations among microbial community structure, dominant microbes and process performance were investigated. Seasonal variation had a stronger impact on the AS bacterial community than any variation within different wastewater treatment system. Facing seasonal variation, the bacterial community within the oxidation ditch process remained more stable those in either the A2/O or A/O processes. The core genera in domestic wastewater treatment systems were Nitrospira, Caldilineaceae, Pseudomonas and Lactococcus. The core genera in the textile dyeing and fine chemical industrial wastewater treatment systems were Nitrospira, Thauera and Thiobacillus.

Objective To describe the technique and analyze the outcomes of joint-preserving surgical treatments which included anatomical reconstruction or alignment correction for talar malunions or nonunions, and avoid development of degenerative changes in the adjacent joints. Methods Eight patients who had painful talar malunions or nonunions treated between 2009 and 2015 were included in this retrospective study. The mean age of the patients was 35.6 years, with patients aged from 18 to 58 years. Two patients had talar neck fractures and six had talar body fractures. According to a classification of post-traumatic talar deformities, five patients were classified as type I (malunion and/or residual joint displacement), two as type II (nonunion with displacement), and one as type III (malunion with partial avascular necrosis [AVN]). Of these patients, six cases were treated with an osteotomy through the malunited fracture or removal of the pseudarthrosis, and two cases were corrected by supramalleolar or calcaneal osteotomies owing to complete disappearance of the former fracture lines. The follow-up evaluation methods included the 36-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) score, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) score, range of motion (ROM), and radiological analysis. The differences between postoperative scores and preoperative scores were evaluated statistically with the paired Student's t-test. Significance was assumed at P < 0.05. Results The mean follow-up time was 25.6 months. No wound healing problems or infections were observed. Solid union was obtained without redislocation in all cases, and with no signs of development or progression of AVN. At a mean of 25.6 months (range, 16–36 months) after reconstruction, all patients were satisfied with the result. The mean AOFAS score increased from 30.0 ± 7.0 pre-operatively to 86.5 ± 7.8 post-operatively (P < 0.001), the mean SF-36 score increased from 38.8 ± 4.1 to 81.4 ± 7.7 (P < 0.001), and the average ROM (tibiotalar joint) increased from 40.5° ± 8.7° to 43.9° ± 7.2° (P < 0.05). Discussion Joint-preserving procedures for talar malunions or nonunions can bring about satisfactory outcomes, and the appropriate procedure should be adopted according to different types of post-traumatic deformities.

The generally adopted worldwide target is to keep the increase in the global mean temperature lower than 2 °C by 2100, which is comparable with that of the preindustrial era. It is feasible for China to realize an emission pathway that is consistent with this target; however, we need to understand the roadmap to do so. In this paper, the results of a modeling study by the Integrated Policy Assessment Model for China (IPAC) concerning the investment required to realize the 2 °C scenario by examining the penetration of low-carbon technologies including energy supply and energy efficiency improvement in end-use sectors is presented. It is found that the investment required in the energy supply sector to realize the 2 °C scenario could reach CN¥1.2 trillion by 2020, CN¥1.0 trillion by 2030, and CN¥1.4 trillion by 2050. The investment needed for energy saving could reach CN¥1.6 trillion by 2020, CN¥1.8 trillion by 2030, and CN¥1.5 trillion by 2050, which represents the additional investment as compared with the use of old technologies. If the investment required both in the energy supply sector and in energy saving in end-use sectors is considered, the total investment is estimated to be CN¥2.8 trillion by 2020, CN¥2.8 trillion by 2030, and CN¥2.9 trillion by 2050. These investments account for 2.5% of China's total GDP in 2020, 1.3% in 2030, and 0.6% by 2050, which represents quite a small investment percentage to realize the goal of low-carbon development.

This paper focuses on the way of keeping shift quality of automatic transmissions consistent in mass production and with mileage accumulation. We investigate the main factors influencing the consistency of shift quality. Test results show that the torque to pressure (T2P) and pressure to current (P2I) characteristics of shifting elements are easily affected. A simulation model of an 8-speed automatic transmission is established to simulate the dynamic process of clutch-to-clutch shift. Simulation results demonstrate that the change of T2P and P2I characteristics has a significant influence on shift quality. In order to compensate for the influences, we develop two adaptive control strategies, i.e., the adaptive control strategies for torque phase and inertia phase. They make use of the measured speed information and time information to evaluate shift quality. Then the control parameters are tuned to adapt to the change of T2P and P2I characteristics. Vehicle tests verify that the developed adaptive control strategies are effective to keep shift quality consistent in mass production and with mileage accumulation.

This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of osteotomy combined with lateral ligament reconstruction on the osteochondral lesion of patients with talar injuries and varus ankles.Seventy five patients with talar injuries and varus ankles who received osteotomy combined with lateral ligament reconstruction for the osteochondral lesions from June 2008 to December 2014 were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were followed up for 32.4 ± 15.3 months after surgeries, and the AOFAS-AH score, VAS score and SF36 score were determined preoperatively and postoperatively. The iconographic data were compared preoperatively and postoperatively, including tibial anterior surface angle (TAS), TTS, TT, and tibial lateral surface angle (TLS) angles.After surgeries, the AOFAS-AF score increased from 43.2 ± 8.1 to 82.1 ± 5.6, the VAS score decreased from 6.9 ± 2.3 to 1.8 ± 1.5, and the SF36 score increased from 48.7 ± 9.4 to 83.5 ± 6.2. In recent years, eutrophication has not been effectively controlled and algal pollution still breaks out frequently. At the same time, the cyanobacteria and release of algal toxins have posed a serious threat to the environment and human health. In this review, the classification and main physicochemical properties of algal toxins were summarized, and the biological removal strategies of algal toxins including biological contact oxidation process, biological filter process and biological ecological coupling process and their biodegradation mechanisms were reviewed. The influence factors on biological treatment process, including operation conditions (temperature, pH and hydraulic retention time), water property and nutrient limitation factors, were analyzed. The research on the removalmechanisms of other algae toxins and the development and optimization of new biological technology were prospected to develop and improve algal toxin removal technology and ensure drin-king water safety.近年来,随着水体富营养化程度加剧,蓝藻水华现象时有发生,蓝藻及其释放的藻毒素对生态环境和人类健康构成严重威胁.本文概述了常见藻毒素的分类及其主要理化性质,总结了生物接触氧化、生物滤池和生物-生态耦合等工艺对藻毒素的去除性能与机制,分析了生物处理工艺的反应条件(温度、pH和水力停留时间)、原水性质及营养限制等影响因素,并对藻毒素去除机理、新工艺研发等方面进行了展望.

For P2 configuration HEV, a smooth engine start process is very important under low SOC condition. This paper first established a simulation model in MATLAB/Simulink, and developed two control strategies for smooth start situation, one only considered the coordinative torque control among engine, motor and the main clutch, while the other involved the clutch control in DCT. By means of simulation, two strategies were compared. As the results showed, it is effective to decrease the vibration during the engine start process by slipping the clutch in DCT.

The comprehensive PBL education quality evaluation of university engineering practice is a practical requirement to change the view of engineering education quality, establish the operational evaluation system and promote the reform of engineering innovative talents cultivation. Taking the problem as the guidance, from evaluation factors of PBL education quality of engineering practice, and based on the fuzzy mathematics theory, constructing the fuzzy evaluation models of practice object, practice content, practice input, practice process, practice effects, accessibility improvement and portability, forming a PBL education quality dynamical evaluation system of practice background, input, process, and results of engineering practice. In addition, a specific PBL education quality evaluation case is discussed by using this fuzzy evaluation method.

Scan-digitizing is one of the main ways to digitize the original. Building scanner profiles are usual practice to get the consistent color. In the paper, we describe how to get the best possible ‘Raw RGB’ image from a scanner. First we measured the accuracy of those different input profiles. The profile accuracy depends on the relationship between scanner RGB and the corresponding LAB or XYZ values. Then we compared the range of those input profile tones. The ideal tone response curve can be decided by setting the scanner gamma. So a good input profile can faithfully render the dark and murky appearance of an underexposed image or the washed-out appearance of an overexposed one. In order to get a good scanner profile we proposed a method to determine a suitable tone response curve. A new algorithm was then developed according to N-component LUT-based input profile. Experiments were carried out to compare these scanner profiles. The results showed that the ICC profile generated by the new algorithm has obvious advantages in accuracy and grey predicting.

Objective To systematically examine the postmarketing safety of depside salt injection made from Danshen ( Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae ), identify the potential risk factors, and ensure its clinical safety. Methods We examined a comprehensive series of studies on the production process, quality standards, pharmacology, population pharmacokinetics, and safety evaluation of depside salt injection made from Danshen ( Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae ). Data from I-IV clinical drug trials, hospital information systems (HIS), and spontaneous reporting systems (SRS) were also analyzed. Results The effective components of salvianolic acid salt content reached almost 100%, and the magnesium lithospermate B content reached more than 80%. The median lethal dose (LD50) calculated by the Bliss method was 1.49 g/kg, with 95% confidence intervals of 1.29–1.72 g/kg. Long-term tests on Beagle dogs indicated that doses of less than 80 mg/kg were safe and doses of 320 mg/kg were toxic. Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) included digestive disorders; drug-induced erythrocyte deformation in lung, liver, spleen, kidney, bone marrow, intestinal mucosa, lymph nodes, and other tissues; megakaryocytes in lung, liver, and spleen resulting from mild hemolysis; and mild hyperplasia in bone marrow hematopoietic tissue. Other studies indicated no irritative effect of the injection on local tissues and blood vessels, and no allergic reactions, erythrocyte coagulation, or hemolysis. SRS data showed that the most common ADRs were headache, head distention, dizziness, facial flushing, skin itching, thrombocytopenia, and the reversibility of elevated Aspartate transaminase. HIS data indicated no damage to renal function from using depside salt injection made from Danshen ( Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae ) at a dosage higher than the recommended dose. Conclusion This study analyzes the clinical characteristics of ADRs from depside salt injection made from Danshen ( Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae ), and discusses the factors influencing such reactions. It provides scientific reference and recommendations for clinically safe medication of the Danshen injection.

Basing on the fact that requirements for shift quality in automatic transmissions have been increasing rapidly necessitates the establishment of a suitable shifting control strategy in order to facilitate smoothness of different processes, this paper introduces a simulation model of an 8-speed automatic transmission for front-drive vehicles with respect to detailed shifting strategies and relative parameters. The transmitted torque of the oncoming shift elements before synchronization point can be reduced by an impact function in order to damp the impact and thus make the gear shifting process more smooth. This paper makes a systematic introduction of the structure of 8AT, theoretical basis of control strategy, the establishment of the simulation model and the comparison between test results and simulation results. The conclusion shows that with an accurate dynamic model, simulation results and test results are neighborhood data, the simulation model can be used to help realizing the ultimate goal of better shift quality with higher efficiency, lower shift loads and improved shifting comfort.

The role of arthroereises in the treatment of adult acquired flatfoot deformity (AAFD) has been controversial. This study aims to evaluate the outcome of subtalar arthroereisis in treating stage II AAFD. A total of 24 feet with stage II AAFD were treated surgically between 2009 and 2011 using subtalar arthroereisis. The average follow-up was 29.7 months (range = 24 to 35 months). The average postoperative AOFAS (American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society) Ankle-Hindfoot Scale score was 85.6 (compared with 51.7 preoperatively). Average preoperative talar-first metatarsal angle and talonavicular coverage angle were −13.9° and 38.3°, respectively. The average postoperative angles were 1.6° and 11.2°, respectively (P < .01). No deformity recurrences were found at the time of last follow-up, with the exception of 1 case. Subtalar arthroereisis appears to be a reasonable treatment option for stage IIA and IIC AAFD. It can be used alone to correct mild hindfoot valgus, and it can also be performed with a calcaneal osteotomy to gain more correction in severe stage II AAFD.Levels of Evidence: Therapeutic, Level IV: Retrospective Case Series

Matching analysis of automatic transmission fluid (ATF) and the hydraulic control system is an essential work for the development of ATFs used in automatic transmissions. Based on the hydrodynamic theory, an ATF model was built. By adopting the modeling concept of combining and establishing models with basic elements, the hydraulic control system model was built, and then complete matching model was built by introducing the ATF model into it. The matching level of the ATF and the hydraulic control system was evaluated, and the key parameters which influence the performance of the hydraulic control system and their proper values were defined, which will be reference for developing optimal ATFs. With the bench test result and vehicle test result on road, the matching method and models for ATFs with the hydraulic control system are confirmed to be effective and feasible, which can significantly shorten the development cycle of ATFs.
