The immersion corrosion experiment of laser-based direct energy deposited H13 steel in ADC12 aluminum alloy melt was conducted to evaluate the demands for corrosion resistance after mold repair. The effect of the anisotropic microstructure of the deposited H13 steel on corrosion behavior was elucidated by characterizing the microstructure before and after corrosion. The results show that the microstructural heterogeneity affects the initiation, development and stabilization process of corrosion. Corrosion tends to initiate near the heat-affected zone due to the heterogeneous distribution of grain size, carbides, and dislocation density. Planes with weak microstructural heterogeneity are less likely to develop cracks in the intermetallic compounds (IMCs) layer during the corrosion development stage, thus exhibiting a slower corrosion rate. The IMCs layer of plane with weak microstructural heterogeneity stabilizes more quickly during the corrosion stabilization stage. The plane perpendicular to the build direction exhibits the highest corrosion resistance due to fewer corrosion initiation locations and the weakest microstructural heterogeneity. Furthermore, the composite structure of carbide core + Si phase shell, generated during corrosion, contributes to improving localized corrosion resistance. This study provides insights into understanding the influence of the heterogeneous microstructure from additive manufacturing on the reaction-diffusion process and offers guidance on direction selection when preparing components for applications in contact with aluminum melts using additive manufacturing techniques.

Abstract Effective geographical origin discrimination of Chinese rice requires a large database of samples to ensure sufficient data for origin verification at a regional scale. In this study, environmental similarity was used to establish a spatial database of rice nutrient element, and then the validity of the database was verified using the back propagation artificial neural networks modeling (BPNN). The spatial distribution model of 14 rice nutrient element (Al, Ba, Ca, Cu, Cr, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, Rb, and Zn) on regional scale was built using an environmental similarity method for the first time. Elemental concentrations of 692 samples were used to build a simulated geographical origin prediction model for northeastern (N‐E), middle to lower Yangtze River plain (Y‐R), southwestern (S‐W), and southeastern (S‐E) in China. The results indicated that the performance of the environmental similarity model for these four growing regions was S‐W > N‐E > S‐E > Y‐R based on the lowest ranking root mean square error (RMSE) for each region. For example, the RMSEs of Zn in S‐W, N‐E, S‐E, and Y‐R regions were 2.0, 2.4, 2.7, and 3.7 mg/kg, respectively. A case study on the traceability of Japonica rice was shown that Japonica rice could be discriminated with higher origin accuracy using a simulated database (91.8%) than by the actual database (87.0%) using the BPNN model. This indicates that a simulated rice element database could improve the accuracy of geographical origin discrimination for Chinese rice and potentially be applied to other large national‐scale crop datasets.

Abstract Mining entity and relation from unstructured text is important for knowledge graph construction and expansion. Recent approaches have achieved promising performance while still suffering from inherent limitations, such as the computation efficiency and redundancy of relation prediction. In this paper, we propose a novel hybrid attention and dilated convolution network (HADNet), an end-to-end solution for entity and relation extraction and mining. HADNet designs a novel encoder architecture integrated with an attention mechanism, dilated convolutions, and gated unit to further improve computation efficiency, which achieves an effective global receptive field while considering local context. For the decoder, we decompose the task into three phases, relation prediction, entity recognition and relation determination. We evaluate our proposed model using two public real-world datasets that the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model.

Yield prediction is an important agriculture management for crop policy making. In recent years, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and spectral sensor technology have been widely used in crop production. This study aims to evaluate the ability of UAVs equipped with spectral sensors to predict oilseed rape yield. In an experiment, RGB and hyperspectral images were captured using a UAV at the seedling (S1), budding (S2), flowering (S3), and pod (S4) stages in oilseed rape plants. Canopy reflectance and spectral indices of oilseed rape were extracted and calculated from the hyperspectral images. After correlation analysis and principal component analysis (PCA), input spectral indices were screened to build yield prediction models using random forest regression (RF), multiple linear regression (MLR), and support vector machine regression (SVM). The results showed that UAVs equipped with spectral sensors have great potential in predicting crop yield at a large scale. Machine learning approaches such as RF can improve the accuracy of yield models in comparison with traditional methods (e.g., MLR). The RF-based training model had the highest determination coefficient (R2) (0.925) and lowest relative root mean square error (RRMSE) (5.91%). In testing, the MLR-based model had the highest R2 (0.732) and lowest RRMSE (11.26%). Moreover, we found that S2 was the best stage for predicting oilseed rape yield compared with the other growth stages. This study demonstrates a relatively accurate prediction for crop yield and provides valuable insight for field crop management.

Milk vetch (Astragalus sinicus L.) is a winter-growing plant that can enhance soil fertility and provide essential nutrients for subsequent season crops. The fertilizing capacity of milk vetch is closely related to its above-ground biomass. Compared to the manual measurement methods of milk vetch biomass, remote sensing-based estimation methods have the advantages of rapid, noninvasive, and large-scale measurement. However, few studies have been conducted on remote sensing-based estimation of milk vetch biomass. To address this shortcoming, this study proposes combining unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based hyperspectral imagery and machine learning algorithms for accurate estimation of milk vetch biomass. Through the analysis of hyperspectral images and feature selection based on the Pearson correlation and principal component analysis, vegetation indices (VIs), including near-infrared reflectance (NIR), red-edge spectral transform index (RE), and difference vegetation index (DVI), are selected as estimation metrics of the model development process. Four machine learning methods, including random forest (RF), multiple linear regression (MLR), deep neural network (DNN), and support vector machine (SVM), are used to construct the biomass models. The results show that the RF estimation model exhibits the highest coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.950 and the lowest relative root-mean-squared error (RRMSE) of 14.86% among all the models. Notably, the DNN model demonstrates promising performance on the test set, with the R2 and RRMSE values slightly superior and inferior to those of the RF, respectively. The proposed method based on UAV imagery and machine learning can provide an accurate and reliable large-scale estimation of milk vetch biomass.

Ginkgo biloba L. is a rare dioecious species that is valued for its diverse applications and is cultivated globally. This study aimed to develop a rapid and effective method for determining the sex of a Ginkgo biloba. Green and yellow leaves representing annual growth stages were scanned with a hyperspectral imager, and classification models for RGB images, spectral features, and a fusion of spectral and image features were established. Initially, a ResNet101 model classified the RGB dataset using the proportional scaling–background expansion preprocessing method, achieving an accuracy of 90.27%. Further, machine learning algorithms like support vector machine (SVM), linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and subspace discriminant analysis (SDA) were applied. Optimal results were achieved with SVM and SDA in the green leaf stage and LDA in the yellow leaf stage, with prediction accuracies of 87.35% and 98.85%, respectively. To fully utilize the optimal model, a two-stage Period-Predetermined (PP) method was proposed, and a fusion dataset was built using the spectral and image features. The overall accuracy for the prediction set was as high as 96.30%. This is the first study to establish a standard technique framework for Ginkgo sex classification using hyperspectral imaging, offering an efficient tool for industrial and ecological applications and the potential for classifying other dioecious plants.

Rapid and accurate prediction of crop yield is particularly important for ensuring national and regional food security and guiding the formulation of agricultural and rural development plans. Due to unmanned aerial vehicles’ ultra-high spatial resolution, low cost, and flexibility, they are widely used in field-scale crop yield prediction. Most current studies used the spectral features of crops, especially vegetation or color indices, to predict crop yield. Agronomic trait parameters have gradually attracted the attention of researchers for use in the yield prediction in recent years. In this study, the advantages of multispectral and RGB images were comprehensively used and combined with crop spectral features and agronomic trait parameters (i.e., canopy height, coverage, and volume) to predict the crop yield, and the effects of agronomic trait parameters on yield prediction were investigated. The results showed that compared with the yield prediction using spectral features, the addition of agronomic trait parameters effectively improved the yield prediction accuracy. The best feature combination was the canopy height (CH), fractional vegetation cover (FVC), normalized difference red-edge index (NDVI_RE), and enhanced vegetation index (EVI). The yield prediction error was 8.34%, with an R2 of 0.95. The prediction accuracies were notably greater in the stages of jointing, booting, heading, and early grain-filling compared to later stages of growth, with the heading stage displaying the highest accuracy in yield prediction. The prediction results based on the features of multiple growth stages were better than those based on a single stage. The yield prediction across different cultivars was weaker than that of the same cultivar. Nevertheless, the combination of agronomic trait parameters and spectral indices improved the prediction among cultivars to some extent.

Abstract With the popularity of cameras, the application of action recognition is more and more extensive. After the emergence of RGB‐D cameras and human pose estimation algorithms, human actions can be represented by a sequence of skeleton joints. Therefore, skeleton‐based action recognition has been a research hotspot. In this paper, a novel 3D Graph Convolutional Network model (3D‐GCN) with space‐time attention mechanism for 2D skeleton data is proposed. Three‐dimensional graph convolution is employed to extract spatiotemporal features of skeleton descriptor that is composed of joint coordinates, frame differences and angles. Meanwhile, different joints and different frames are given different attention to achieve action classification. A zebra crossing pedestrian dataset named ZCP is also provided, which simulates possible pedestrian actions on the zebra crossing in real scenes. Experimental evaluation is carried out on ZCP dataset and NTU RGB+D dataset. Experimental results show that our method is better than current 2D‐based methods and is comparable with 3D methods.

Rapeseed seeding dates are largely delayed under the rice–rape rotation system, but how rapeseeds adapt to the delayed environment remains unclear. Here, five seeding dates (20 October, 30 October, 10 November, 20 November and 30 November, T1 to T5) were set and the dynamic differences between two late-seeding-tolerant (LST) and two late-seeding-sensitive (LSS) rapeseed cultivars were investigated in a field experiment. The growth was significantly repressed and the foldchange (LST/LSS) of yield increased from 1.50-T1 to 2.64-T5 with the delay in seeding. Both LST cultivars showed higher plant coverage than the LSS cultivars according to visible/hyperspectral imaging and the vegetation index acquired from an unmanned aerial vehicle. Fluorescence imaging, DAB and NBT staining showed that the LSS cultivars suffered more stress damage than the LST cultivars. Antioxidant enzymes (SOD, POD, CAT, APX) and osmoregulation substances (proline, soluble sugar, soluble protein) were decreased with the delay in seeding, while the LST cultivar levels were higher than those of the LSS cultivars. A comparative analysis of transcriptomes and metabolomes showed that 55 pathways involving 123 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and 107 differentially accumulated metabolites (DAMs) participated in late seeding tolerance regulation, while 39 pathways involving 60 DEGs and 68 DAMs were related to sensitivity. Levanbiose, α-isopropylmalate, s-ribosyl-L-homocysteine, lauroyl-CoA and argino-succinate were differentially accumulated in both cultivars, while genes including isocitrate dehydrogenase, pyruvate kinase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase and newgene_7532 were also largely regulated. This study revealed the dynamic regulation mechanisms of rapeseeds on late seeding conditions, which showed considerable potential for the genetic improvement of rapeseed.

Background Small single subcortical infarction (SSSI) may be classified as parent artery disease-related or only branch involved according to the stenosis of parent artery. The study aimed to evaluate short-term and long-term prognoses and the effectiveness of antiplatelet therapy in SSSI.Methods We prospectively enrolled 2890 patients with SSSI from the Third China National Stroke Registry (CNSR-III) database from August 2015 to March 2018. We assessed clinical outcomes and antiplatelet treatment effects in patients with SSSI with and without parent artery stenosis (PAS) identified by magnetic resonance angiography.Results Among 2890 patients with SSSI in the perforator territory of the middle cerebral artery and the basilar artery, there were 680 (23.53%) patients with PAS and 2210 (76.47%) patients without PAS, respectively. After adjusting for potential confounders, the PAS group had a greater initial stroke severity (OR 1.262, 95% CI 1.058 to 1.505; p=0.0097) and a higher risk of ischaemic stroke recurrence at 3 months (OR 2.266, 95% CI 1.631 to 3.149; p

In recent years, China’s informatization construction has made great progress, and both industries and enterprises have felt various benefits from the application of information technology. In the deployment and development of mobile services, it is often local and municipal mobile companies that, in order to meet the different needs of the market, immediately carry out corresponding services, resulting in one service for each municipal subsidiary in the same province or one platform for a class of services. Situation is good for quickly meeting user needs at that time. The exchange and communication of enterprise personnel information are becoming more and more frequent, and the collection of enterprise information through mobile has become a new way of enterprise information collection. The work orders, process parameters, documents, notifications, and instructions generated by the planning layer are sent to the production control layer to respond, guide, and trigger the production site events. The ultimate goal of mobile data collection is to gather the collected data into the enterprise production data center, which plays an important role in mobile devices, mobile performance, mobile planning, mobile balancing, mobile prediction, and so on. Based on the unified mobile application data collection method, this paper analyzed and analyzed the design of application architecture in the tobacco enterprise platform and further described the business functions, security performance, and system characteristics of the platform.

Accurate knowledge of soil moisture is crucial for agricultural drought monitoring. Data assimilation has proven to be a promising technique for improving soil moisture estimation, and various studies have been conducted on soil moisture data assimilation based on land surface models. However, crop growth models, which are ideal tools for agricultural simulation applications, are rarely used for soil moisture assimilation. Moreover, the role of data assimilation in agricultural drought monitoring is seldom investigated. In the present work, we assimilated the European Space Agency (ESA) Climate Change Initiative (CCI) soil moisture product into the Decision Support System for Agro-technology Transfer (DSSAT) model to estimate surface and root-zone soil moisture, and we evaluated the effect of data assimilation on agricultural drought monitoring. The results demonstrate that the soil moisture estimates were significantly improved after data assimilation. Root-zone soil moisture had a better agreement with in situ observation. Compared with the drought index based on soil moisture modeled without remotely-sensed observations, the drought index based on assimilated data could improve at least one drought level in agricultural drought monitoring and performed better when compared with winter wheat yield. In conclusion, crop growth model-based data assimilation effectively improves the soil moisture estimation and further strengthens soil moisture-based drought indices for agricultural drought monitoring.

Improving nitrogen (N) management of small-scale farming systems in developing countries is crucially important for food security and sustainable development of world agriculture, but it is also very challenging. The N Nutrition Index (NNI) is a reliable indicator for crop N status, and there is an urgent need to develop an effective method to non-destructively estimate crop NNI in different smallholder farmer fields to guide in-season N management. The eBee fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based remote sensing system, a ready-to-deploy aircraft with a Parrot Sequoia+ multispectral camera onboard, has been used for applications in precision agriculture. The objectives of this study were to (i) determine the potential of using fixed-wing UAV-based multispectral remote sensing for non-destructive estimation of winter wheat NNI in different smallholder farmer fields across the study village in the North China Plain (NCP) and (ii) develop a practical strategy for village-scale winter wheat N status diagnosis in small scale farming systems. Four plot experiments were conducted within farmer fields in 2016 and 2017 in a village of Laoling County, Shandong Province in the NCP for evaluation of a published critical N dilution curve and for serving as reference plots. UAV remote sensing images were collected from all the fields across the village in 2017 and 2018. About 150 plant samples were collected from farmer fields and plot experiments each year for ground truthing. Two indirect and two direct approaches were evaluated for estimating NNI using vegetation indices (VIs). To facilitate practical applications, the performance of three commonly used normalized difference VIs were compared with the top performing VIs selected from 59 tested indices. The most practical and stable method was using VIs to calculate N sufficiency index (NSI) and then to estimate NNI non-destructively (R2 = 0.53−0.56). Using NSI thresholds to diagnose N status directly was quite stable, with a 57−59% diagnostic accuracy rate. This strategy is practical and least affected by the choice of VIs across fields, varieties, and years. This study demonstrates that fixed-wing UAV−based remote sensing is a promising technology for in-season diagnosis of winter wheat N status in smallholder farmer fields at village scale. The considerable variability in local soil conditions and crop management practices influenced the overall accuracy of N diagnosis, so more studies are needed to further validate and optimize the reported strategy and consecutively develop practical UAV remote sensing−based in-season N recommendation methods.

Intelligent transportation systems based on sensor signals are crucial in addressing contemporary transportation issues, accomplishing dynamic traffic management, and facilitating route planning. However, the highly dynamic and intricate nature of traffic sensor signals presents difficulties for traffic prediction, with current models for traffic prediction inadequate in meeting the requirements of both long-term and short-term prediction tasks. In this paper, we propose a novel deep-learning framework called dynamic spatial-temporal correlation learning network (DSTLNet) that jointly leverages dynamical spatial and temporal features of traffic sensor signals to further improve the accuracy of long- and short-term traffic modeling and route planning. Specifically, we leverage the temporal convolutional network to capture long-term correlations. In addition, a spatial graph convolutional network is developed to dynamically model spatial features, and long- and short-term fusion layers are used to fuse the extracted long- and short-term temporal features, respectively. Experimental results on real-world datasets show that DSTLNet is competitive with the state-of-the-art, especially for long-term traffic prediction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper mainly explores the consensus control of multi-agent robot system with repetitive motion under the constraints of a leader and fixed topology. To realize the consensus control, a fractional order iterative learning control (FOILC) algorithm was designed under the mode of distributed open-closed-loop proportional-derivative alpha (PDa). The uniform convergence of the algorithm in finite time was discussed, drawing on factional calculus, graph theory, and norm theory, resulting in the convergence conditions. Theoretical analysis shows that, with the growing number of iterations, each agent can choose the appropriate gain matrix, and complete the tracking task in finite time.
