【Objective】 Water sourced from the Yellow River in China, which has been extensively used for irrigation in the northern irrigation districts of the country, is characterized by high sediment content. This paper aims to investigate the influence of sediment particle size distribution on water infiltration under surge irrigation. 【Method】 The infiltration tests encompassed four treatments with sediment content being 3%, 6%, 9%, and 12%, respectively. Each sediment treatment included four particle gradings labeled as A, B, C, and D, respectively. In each infiltration test, we meticulously measured both the infiltration rate and the variation in infiltration over time. 【Result】 The relationship between cumulative infiltration and time can be described by the Philip and Kostiakov models, regardless of sediment content and particle grading. As the number of irrigation cycles increased, the parameters K and α in the Kostiakov model, as well as the parameters S and A in the Philip model, all exhibited a declining trend. 【Conclusion】 In comparison to the infiltration of clean water, the infiltration depth of sediment-water was inversely related to the presence of physically cohesive particles. Conversely, when the infiltration depth was the same, soil water content was negatively correlated to the quantity of physically cohesive particles in the water.

An integrated quasi-vertical double-diffused MOSFET (DMOS) with split-gate trench (SGT) structure (SGT-QVDMOS), whose specific ON-state resistance (RON,sp) breaks the traditional Si limit significantly, is proposed and fabricated. The measured data of the latest manufactured device is presented. By introducing the vertical gate poly, the split grounded source poly, and the asymmetric thick oxide in the gate trench, the traditional lateral drift region is folded in the SGT-QVDMOS. In this way, the device voltage withstanding mode transforms from one dimension to two dimensions, including the horizontal and the vertical directions. Combining the electric field modulation effect and the reduced lateral area, which benefit from the quasi-vertical structure, the forward conducting characteristic of the SGT-QVDMOS is effectively improved. According to the measured results from the SGT-QVDMOS manufactured by the 180 nm Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS (BCD) process, the ultralow ON-state resistance is obtained. The device achieves 1.9 V VTH, 11.07 mΩ∙mm2 RON,sp, and 48.6 V BV, which is 39.0% lower than the traditional Si limit. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper provides references for the design and control of high-quality green building indoor environments during the transitional season in severe cold area. A residential building in severe cold area was selected as the research subject, where indoor pollutant CO2 concentrations and temperatures were measured at the beginning of the transitional season. The study explored the variations in indoor pollutant temperatures and CO2 concentrations under natural and non-natural ventilation conditions, in conjunction with an analysis of the occupants' activities. The results demonstrated clear relationships between indoor pollutant CO2 concentrations and temperatures under natural ventilation conditions. Based on these findings, recommendations for natural ventilation strategies that consider both indoor CO2 levels and thermal environment are proposed.

Amino acid transporters play pivotal roles in cancer biology, including in urological cancers. Among them, L-type amino acid transporter 1 (LAT1), alanine-serine-cysteine transporter 2 (ASCT2), and cystine-glutamate transporter (xCT) have garnered significant attention due to their involvement in various aspects of tumor progression and response to therapy. This review focuses on elucidating the regulation and functions of these amino acid transporters in urological cancers, including prostate, bladder, and renal cancers. Understanding the intricate regulatory mechanisms governing these amino acid transporters is essential for developing effective therapeutic strategies. Furthermore, exploring their interactions with signaling pathways and microenvironmental cues in the context of urological cancers may uncover novel therapeutic vulnerabilities. This comprehensive overview highlights the importance of amino acid transporters, particularly LAT1, ASCT2, and xCT, in urological cancers and underscores the potential of their inhibitors as therapeutic targets for improving patient outcomes. The inhibition of foliar respiration by light is a crucial yet often overlooked component in estimating ecosystem respiration. However, current estimations of the light inhibition of ecosystem respiration are biased by ignoring the effects of moisture factors. We developed a novel physics‐constrained machine learning method to quantify the extent of light inhibition (Reli) driven by multiple factors in global ecosystems. Our findings revealed significant seasonal variations in light inhibition rate aligned with vegetation growth. Temperature predominantly influenced variations in Reli, and the temperature‐Reli relationship was regulated by vapor pressure deficit rather than soil water content. A reassessment of global ecosystem respiration revealed that current Earth system models (ESMs) overestimate ecosystem respiration in mid‐to‐high latitude dryland regions, with a global average light inhibition strength of 0.51 (±0.16). Knowledge from this study provides an accurate understanding of light inhibition driven by temperature and moisture coupling in simulating carbon cycle. In this paper, the robustness of a junction temperature sensing method using the peak of the turn-on current slope for enhanced p-GaN high-electron-mobility transistors is investigated in detail. With the help of a repetitive hard-switching test platform, compared to other temperature-sensitive electrical parameters, it is found that the maximum slope of the flowing current at the turn-on transition shows no trend in degradation, regardless of the applied switching stress. This parameter decreases solely with the increase in junction temperature, showing excellent temperature-dependent linearity. Furthermore, the applicability of this method to the detection of junction temperature under different external gate resistances and drain voltages is verified. The sensed junction temperatures are carried over to calculate the thermal resistance, which is also extracted by advanced thermal characterization test equipment as a reference. Therefore, based on the versatility, convenience and accuracy, the peak of the rising drain current slope has been proven to be the preferred alternative in system applications to detect junction temperatures. L‐type amino acid transporter 1 (LAT1) is specifically expressed in many malignancies, contributes to the transport of essential amino acids, such as leucine, and regulates the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway. We investigated the expression profile and functional role of LAT1 in prostate cancer using JPH203, a specific inhibitor of LAT1. LAT1 was highly expressed in castration‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) cells, including C4‐2 and PC‐3 cells, but its expression level was low in castration‐sensitive LNCaP cells. JPH203 significantly inhibited [14C] leucine uptake in CRPC cells but had no effect in LNCaP cells. JPH203 inhibited the proliferation, migration, and invasion of CRPC cells but not of LNCaP cells. In C4‐2 cells, Cluster of differentiation (CD) 24 was identified by RNA sequencing as a novel downstream target of JPH203. CD24 was downregulated in a JPH203 concentration‐dependent manner and suppressed activation of the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway. Furthermore, an in vivo study showed that JPH203 inhibited the proliferation of C4‐2 cells in a castration environment. The results of this study indicate that JPH203 may exert its antitumor effect in CRPC cells via mTOR and CD24. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
