The application of automation technology realizes the transformation of people's production and life-style, and also promotes the transformation of the system form of the network environment. The application of automation in the current network industry is increasing, especially the use of advanced methods and technologies for automatic control. The purpose of this paper is to realize the research on the network measurement and control system in the field of automation technology to promote the ecological development of the network automation process. This paper proposes the use of neural network technology in automation technology to guide the construction of computer network measurement and control systems, which is helpful to analyze and solve the objective problems of system imbalance and improper command output in system automation. The automatic network control system is constructed and optimized by referring to the principles and laws of the neural networks, and the automation of the measurement and control system in the network field is realized. In the test of the system, the results show that when the experimental parameter setting is the input flow value of the flowmeter 2.05 sccm, the output frequency of the inverter in the system jumps between 25 and 40 Hz respectively. The specific parameters of the experiment set the output frequency of the inverter to 50 Hz, and the input flow value of the flowmeter jumps between 2.05 sccm and 4.00 sccm. Therefore, analyzing the measurement and control system of network automation is undoubtedly crucial to the current road in the field of network automation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The accessibility of library products and services for use and profitability by people with hearing impairment is related to a comprehensive set of standards, including ISO 26000, on Social Responsibility, and its association with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. In order to verify the relationship between these accessibility regulations and the practices carried out in Spanish public libraries, a quantitative study was carried out. For this purpose, a data collection instrument has been designed to identify the websites and the service charters of the libraries under study that were compliant with accessibility standards and offered specific products and services for this group, basing this information on that provided by the Directory of Spanish Libraries. The results of this research reveal shortcomings in terms of accessibility for this specific group in Spain and suggest a series of recommendations to be taken into account in the future. Digital geometry processing of hand-drawn pressure-sensitive trajectories oriented toward Web-based three-dimensional (3D) modeling becomes attractive problem. Existing practices usually focus on converting raw trajectories into 3D stroke meshes with consistent line width, which the pressure information can not been fully utilized for denoising, simplification and reflecting realistic graphics of 3D stroke mesh. Also, there are little research on the high quality of trajectory with data transmission fluency and light weight in the Web environment. We propose a lightweight processing method for hand-drawn pressure-sensitive trajectories that is oriented toward Web-based 3D modeling. An angle-chord height united trajectory simplification (ACUTS) algorithm is proposed, in which the discrete points are simplified by comprehensively considering the angle deviation and chord height deviation with the sliding window mechanism. In addition, a lightweight reconstruction algorithm based on pressure -sensitivity for discrete points (LRPDP) is also proposed, in which the pressure value can be fully utilized for simplifying the redundant points while ensuring the reconstructed 3D stroke mesh more realistic. Besides, the experimental results show that compared to some other methods, we perform best in terms of data reduction using compression ratio and reduction percentages. We also perform best in terms of high accuracy of 3D stroke mesh using mean stochastic error distance, local maximum error and total length error. Although the insufficient utilization of the pressure-sensitive information limits our research to some extents, the significance of our research is to provide a new strategy to realize Web-based 3D modeling using hand drawing mode.

Participatory modeling is an important approach for solving complex geo-problems from a comprehensive and holistic viewpoint, and it brings together stakeholders from multiple disciplines to provide diverse resources, including modeling, data fields and computational assets. Data configuration work (e.g., preparing appropriate input data for model execution, connecting a model’s output to the input data of another model) is important for constructing and executing a participatory modeling task. Most current data configuration methods depend on the model integration logic, which presents a challenge when adding new modeling resources into a model to dynamically create and execute new modeling tasks. To support the construction of participatory modeling tasks in a web environment, this article proposes a loosely integrated data configuration strategy for decoupling data configuration work from the execution process of a participatory modeling task. A model service controller is designed for model input/output (I/O) configuration, and a data service controller is designed for data access configuration. These two controllers can help modelers link the data I/O demands of a model-service with the appropriate data-services; thus, different modeling instances can be dynamically joined to a participatory modeling task and executed without reconstructing the original data configuration settings. A prototype participatory modeling system is proposed to demonstrate the flexibility and feasibility of the proposed method using an experimental modeling case. The results show that the proposed data configuration strategy supports the integration of different model-services based on the data dependency relationships and that the complexity and difficulty in configuring data for a participatory modeling tasks in the web environment are minimized.

The existing mesh segmentation methods currently require long training times and have high computational complexity. Consequently, many of these methods cannot meet the rapid requirements of digital geometry processing in the Web environment. This paper proposes an online rapid mesh segmentation method based on an online sequential extreme learning machine (OS-ELM). In the training stage, the OS-ELM is trained by analyzing the mapping relationship between the shape descriptors of the mesh and the Gaussian curvature threshold. We reduce the dimensionality of the shape descriptor vector via principal component analysis (PCA) and extract the Gaussian curvature threshold of the mesh as the sample label using statistics. In the segmentation stage, the Gaussian curvature threshold is quickly extracted to realize the online rapid mesh segmentation via the OS-ELM. Simultaneously, the OS-ELM is updated to realize online incremental learning based on a small number of training samples. Our method is verified using the meshes provided from ShapeNetCore. The experimental results indicate that segmentation results similar to manual segmentation can be rapidly generated online using our method.

11. WEB DESIGN AND WEB PROGRAMMING IN THE MODERN INTERNET WORLD
- Abstract
Modern web content development capabilities are undergoing characteristic changes due to the improvement of web technologies in programming. The origin of web technologies began in the early 80s of the last century when the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) made a significant contribution to the development of Internet capabilities. The web evolution, characterised by scientific and technological progress in information technology, has opened up new opportunities for the development of web programming, which has led to the emergence of programming languages, frameworks, cascading style sheets, and hypertext markup languages. This research aims to study and analyse the key aspects of web programming and web design with a combination of modern features of the Internet environment. To analyse web design, the article considers the possibilities of using the Bootstrap framework, which combines and contains the HTML5 hypertext markup language, CSS3 cascading style sheets, and the JavaScript programming language. Having analysed two web development technologies—front-end and back-end—we can conclude that the presentation level (front-end development) corresponds to the client side, with which the client can interact and where dynamic elements can be added to an HTML page using JavaScript with the visual definition of a web page using CSS. In the case of back-end development, the application layer corresponds to the server side, with which the client cannot interact, as the shell is hidden. Using the modern capabilities of the programming language, its code, and a set of auxiliary tools in website development, the paper presents a development algorithm where each stage contains separate processes and operations during website development, which makes it impossible for them to exist independently. Thus, tools for designing and laying out websites using modern technologies can greatly simplify the development process, which can create

E-learning is a massive industry in the world wide web from our days and helps people to easily distribute and access content, without any boundaries from websites or learning system. With this ability, the e-learning environment is also facing a lot of challenges: the different learning methods, technical requirements for online courses, the usability, security, multi-platforms, web standard, etc. The today semantic technology trends are influencing the e-learning traditional approach and it provides a lot of solutions to those challenges. Semantic technologies can keep up with the evolution of web environment, can provides the capability to understand human necessities and define awareness system in e-learning. The e-learning approaches needs to have a technology base, to sustain the needed learning methods for the user and to be easily adaptable and usable in any situation. As far as we know, the e-learning system is represented in the virtual environment by visual and textual information, each educational training or student lecture is heavily relying on the content offered. A short example of the benefits of semantic technologies is that they simplify the search mode. A student will always look for keywords instead of complex phrases, so the reasoning between the defined terms helps to make a more effective search. From this point of view, e-learning system has increased significantly based on the evolution of semantic technologies, is being used by a lot of teachers that want to share their knowledge to students and also is very popular with companies, which are looking forward in offering a learning program to employees. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate that e-learning domain combined with semantic technologies, has a huge potential and is a successful combination of the teaching system. This paper shows the development of a web environment for the construction of Archimedes and Plato polyhedra in Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). In this environment we used the geometric transformations of translation and rotation with the structure of hierarchies of HTML pages, without the use of the coordinates of each polyhedra vertex. The developed environment can be used in classroom to visualize the polyhedra in Augmented Reality, with the possibility of manipulations of the graphical representations by students in the environment created in Virtual Reality. Other studies that can be developed with the polyhedra modeled are areas, volumes and the relation of Euler. Another important content that can be developed is truncation, because seven Archimedes polyhedra are obtained by using truncation of Plato's polyhedrons. With this work, it becomes possible to develop didactic materials with a simple technology, free and with great contribution to improvement of the teaching of Geometry and other areas that use representation of 3D objects.

In this paper, we study the effect of Web environment temporal background in pre-dicting e-commerce item sales, especially those in temporary sales. Temporary sales nowadaysare a popular strategy for quickly clearing inventories. For traditional recommender systems, predicting the sales of an item is done based on its past purchase records. For temporarysales items, however, such records are not available. In order to make recommendation forsuch items, contextual information, such as product descriptions, is usually used. We investi-gate whether temporal background in the Web environment can be additional useful contextualinformation in recommender systems. It is assumed that items consistent with the temporalbackground would have higher demands. We propose a method for representing the temporalbackground using word embeddings of e-commerce activities and social media data, and eval-uate their effect on sales prediction. Through empirical analysis with real-world data, we foundthat temporal background does have positive effects for sales prediction. The findings in thispaper can be conveniently incorporated into future recommender system designs.

While there is growing demand for use of climate model projections to understand the potential impacts of future climate on resources, there is a lack of effective visuals that convey the range of possible climates across spatial scales and with uncertainties that potential users need to inform their impact assessments and studies. We use usability testing including eye tracking to explore how a group of resource professionals (foresters) interpret and understand a series of graphical representations of future climate change, housed within a web-based decision support system (DSS), that address limitations identified in other tools. We find that a three-map layout effectively communicates the spread of future climate projections spatially, that location-specific information is effectively communicated if depicted both spatially on a map and temporally on a time series plot, and that model error metrics may be useful for communicating uncertainty and in demonstrating the utility of these future climate datasets.

International audience; We describe the Tonnetz web environment and some of the possible applications we have developed within a pedagogical workshop on mathematics and music that has been conceived for high-school students. This web environment makes use of two geometrical representations that constitute intuitive ways of accessing some theoretical concepts underlying the equal tempered system and their possible mathematical formalizations. The environment is aimed at enhancing "mathemusical" learning processes by enabling the user to interactively manipulate these representations. Finally, we show how Tonnetz is currently being adapted in order to lead computer-based experiences in music perception and cognition that will be mainly carried at universities. These experiences will explore the way in which geometrical models could be implicitly encoded during the listening process. Their outcome may reinforce educational strategies for learning mathematics through music.

This study aimed to illustrate some government web archiving initiatives in several countries and stablish an overview of the Brazilian scenario with regard to the preservation of content published on government websites. In Brazil, although there is a robust set of laws that determine the State to manage, access and preserve its documents and information, there is still no policy for the preservation of web content. The result is the erasure and permanent loss of government information produced exclusively through websites. It is noticed that there are several government initiatives for web archiving around the world, which can be used as examples for the implementation of a Brazilian policy. It is concluded that the long-term maintenance of governmental information available on the web is fundamental for public debate and for monitoring governmental actions. To ensure the preservation of this content, the country must define its policy for the preservation of documents produced in a web environment.

The article focuses on the research and design of the infrastructure used for data collection from the network traffic of the CLOUD platform. The aim was to identify the structure of network traffic that occurs in the CLOUD platform. From the mentioned data it is possible to evaluate network security of the protocols used in communication and subsequently compare the obtained data with the security standards introduced in the experimental platform. When implementing the measurement, the NetFlow protocol was used, enabling data collection directly on virtual machines located in the CLOUD platform. The measured data was then stored in the non-relational database Elasticsearch. The selected database is intended for the analysis of a large amount of data. The most important part is the creation of an interactive web environment in order to interpret the measured data in a user-friendly form. The next step in the processing of measured data involves the application of artificial intelligence methods to evaluate and predict the existence of potential security problems.

MOBILE agent systems , *INFORMATION retrieval , *INTERNET , *DOCUMENTATION , *INTELLIGENT agents - Abstract
Mobile agent is a distributed program which can move autonomously in a network, to perform its tasks, on behalf of the user. During migration, the mobile agents and so its data are susceptible to failures due to the faults in the network components like the machine and the channel. It is a challenging issue to address the mobile agent failure scenario during its migration. This paper presents a failure recovery model for mobile agents that ensure the recovery of the lost mobile agent and the data. This is done by allowing a replication of the actual mobile agent at the previously visited servers. However, unlike existing methods, in this paper the replication is temporary and limited to an optimal value. This is achieved by making the mobile agents that operates in multi-region environment, to track, communicate and share the retrieved information between them. After the information sharing, in this paper, the number of replica to be maintained at each region is reduced to one. Furthermore, as there is at least one server in each region that holds the replica, this paper guarantees that the information collected at each server is not lost. In addition, the presented model survives the region failure too, when implemented in a multi-region environment. Experiments were conducted in a web environment, and the results obtained are analyzed and compared with existing methods, based on different testing parameters. The experimental results appear to be more encouraging in claiming the presented recovery model to be a reliable one. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The image CropTool allows users to crop images present on Wikimedia Commons without leaving the Wikimedia family of sites within a web environment. We implemented the same workflow for videos with the VideoCutTool. Previously, a video on Wikimedia Commons had to be downloaded, changed, and later re-uploaded to Commons. The previous process took a significant amount of time and requires the use of outside software, while the VideoCutTool allows authorized users to work up-to 10x faster. This paper talks about the features of VideoCutTool and its implementation. The tool is currently live on https://tools.wmflabs.org/video-cut-tool/ and published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence.

It is widely received that personal records are a kind of unique documentary evidence for both individual and the society. Thus, same care is required for the preservation of personal records as for public records. While personal archiving in the analogue environment has been extensively studied by scholars from different fields, the rapidly changing web environment are raising new challenges on personal information behavior, further, personal digital archiving. To effectively address these challenges, it is important to first understand what the individuals’ perception and behavior of personal digital archiving are. The proposed presentation aims to contribute to this knowledge by discussing the preliminary results of a mixed-method study on the behavior and perception of personal digital archiving of Chinese university students. More specifically, the mixed-method study is approached sequentially by first using a web-based questionnaire to investigate Chinese university students’ perception of personal digital archiving when using email and blogs, which is followed by a semi-structured interview of information professionals to solicit their opinions on the results of the web-based questionnaire and the role of information professionals for facilitating personal digital archiving. The results of this study will shed light on Chinese university students’ awareness of personal records preservation, the measures used for personal records preservation, the difficulties encountered, and responsibilities of different stakeholders (e.g., individual, web service provider, and information professionals) for personal digital archiving. This knowledge will help identify focal areas for future personal digital archiving research.

The availability of consumer-level devices for both visualising and interacting with Virtual Reality (VR) environments opens the opportunity to introduce more immersive contents and experiences, even on the web. For reaching a wider audience, developing VR applications in a web environment requires a flexible adaptation to the different input and output devices that are currently available. This paper examines the required support and explores how to develop VR applications based on web technologies that can adapt to different VR devices. We summarize the main engineering challenges and we describe a flexible framework for integrating and exploiting various VR devices for both input and output. Using such framework, we describe how we re-implemented four manipulation techniques from the literature to enable them within the same application, providing details on how we adapted its parts for different input and output devices such as Kinect and Leap Motion. Finally, we briefly examine the usability of the final application using our framework.

Big Data changes the context and functional requirements of knowledge organization. It is necessary to view knowledge organization through the lens of Big Data, in particular, through the dimensions of Volume, Velocity, Variety and Veracity, as well as through the Functional Goals of the user. In this paper, we explore the challenges of knowledge organization in the Big Data Environment and suggest that knowledge organization must evolve to support the integration of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data (Variety), support real time use of streaming data (Velocity), and provide confidence and support metrics (Veracity), all in the support of the functional goals of the user. The pervasive power of digitization causes scientific, educational, economic and cultural communities to change modes of accessing, sharing and disseminating knowledge and leads to a convergence between our cultural heritage, classic culture and technical culture. It is no surprise that some researchers have called for a "digital humanism", pointing out at the force by which new technologies are becoming a sort of 'culture' since they drive us into a new global cultural destiny". Such reflections concern the society as a whole. This paper will examine how knowledge organization meets the growing need to organize digital information. Faceted Classifications will be examined as one of the most adapted knowledge Organization Systems (KOS) for the global information access. One of our objectives will be to understand the reasons underlying its indisputable capacity as a popular tool for global access to information. Thus the main focus of this paper will be to look at the ways in which universal classifications, as language independent concept schemes, can assist humans and computers in structuring and presenting information and formulating queries. We will try through this work to outline some directions for future work and a better understanding of the realm of faceted classification and how its universality is rooted in human cognition. In blended learning, the internet acts as an instrument to complement traditional forms of instruction, in the belief that the incorporation of new information and communication technologies may lead to more efficient and effective education. This paper presents a study carried out in the University of Granada, during the first year of undergraduate courses, which considered a total of 1,128 students organized into 17 groups during the academic year 2009-2010 and focused on the students' voluntary use of online learning activities. The results show that the students' participation in these activities and the number of tasks completed both had a positive effect on the students' final marks. The time employed in carrying out online tasks did not influence the results achieved but the marks obtained in such activities were a significant factor. In addition, the students' respective background, rate of class attendance and interest in the subject were explanatory variables of the outcome. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
