[Display omitted] Long-term exposition of electrodes to aqueous media inevitably results in biofouling and adhesion of bacteria, reducing the electrolysis efficiency of electrodes for water treatment. To ensure technically efficient antifouling of materials for durable electrodes, hierarchical micro-/nano structured boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes were designed and synthesized. Multi-level structured BDD was coated on titanium mesh by a bottom-up strategy, based on a combination of self-assembly seeding and hot filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD) growth. The morphology of the BDD coating can be controlled by manipulating the seeding density and boron doping concentration. The designed micro/nano hierarchical structure of the BDD electrode suppressed bacterial adhesion greatly and exhibited excellent anti-biofouling efficiency with an antibacterial rate of ∼ 93 %, which entails simplified self-cleaning and durable BDD-coated electrodes. The BDD-coated electrodes were employed to electrochemically treat Escherichia coli -contaminated water, killing virtually all bacteria (≥99.9 %) in 1 min. Finally, real river water was electrochemically treated, reducing the chemical oxygen demand (COD) down to 5 mg/L in 4 h. Background: Indeterminate pulmonary nodules (IPNs) are common after surgery for esophageal cancer. The paucity of data on postoperative IPNs for esophageal cancer causes a clinical dilemma. Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the characteristics and clinical significance of IPNs after radical esophagectomy for metastatic esophageal cancer, determine the risk factors for pulmonary metastasis, and construct a risk score model to standardize the appropriate time to either follow up or treat the patient. Methods: All consecutive patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) who underwent radical surgery between 2013 and 2016 were included in this retrospective study. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to identify independent risk factors and develop risk score models. Results: A total of 816 patients were enrolled in the study. During a median follow-up period of 45 months, IPNs were detected in 221 (27.1%) patients, of whom 66 (29.9%) were diagnosed with pulmonary metastases. The following five variables maintained prognostic significance after multivariate analyses: the pathologic N category, number of IPNs, shape of IPNs, time of detection of IPNs, and size of IPNs. The Pulmonary Metastasis Prediction Model (PMPM) scale ranges from 0 to 15 points, and patients with higher scores have a higher probability of pulmonary metastases. The Hosmer–Lemeshow test showed a good calibration performance of the clinical prediction model (χ2 = 8.573, P = 0.380). After validation, the PMPM scale showed good discrimination with an AUC of 0.939. Conclusion: A PMPM scale for IPNs in patients who underwent esophagectomy for ESCC may be clinically useful for diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Lingyang Qingfei pills (LQP), the renowned traditional Chinese medicine recipe, have been extensively utilized for the therapy of xerostomia, sore throat, bronchiolitis, and pneumonia in clinics. However, its phytochemicals remain equivocal, which severely limits the development of quality control and activity mechanisms. In the current research, a trusted method founded on ultra‐high performance liquid chromatography with Quadrupole‐Exactive Orbitrap mass spectrometry technique was proposed for the comprehensive screening of in vitro and in vivo chemical compositions of LQP. As a consequence, 239 constituents were preliminarily characterized, 37 of which were accurately confirmed by reference standards. In addition, a total of 208 xenobiotics, containing 71 absorbed prototypes and 137 metabolites, were revealed in rat plasma, bile, urine, and feces, respectively. The metabolic reaction of hydrolysis, hydroxylation, methylation, glycosylation, sulfation, and mixed‐mode was detected in the biotransformations of flavonoids, terpenoids, alkaloids, anthraquinones, organic acids, phenylpropanoids, and so forth. And 12 of the metabolites were new compounds. This experiment acted as the first reference for chemical substances and metabolites of LQP, which could provide valuable chemical information for further clarifying pharmacodynamic substances and pharmacokinetic studies. Background: The study aimed to establish a prognostic survival model with 8 pyroptosis-and-cuproptosis-related genes to examine the prognostic effect in patients of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: We downloaded gene expression data and clinical information of HCC patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). The clustering analysis and cox regression with LASSO were used for constructing an 8 PCmRNAs survival model. Using TCGA, ICGC and GEO cohort, the overall survival (OS) between high- and low- risk group was determined. We also evaluated independent prognostic indicators using univariate and multivariate analyses. The relatively bioinformatics analysis, including immune cell infiltration, function enrichment and drug sensitivity analyses, was performed as well. The gene expression of 8 PCmRNAs in vitro were validated in several HCC cell lines by qRT-PCR and Western blot. The relationship between GZMA and Fludarabine were further checked by CCK-8 assay. Results: The survival prognostic model was constructed with ATP7A, GLS, CDKN2A, BAK1, CHMP4B, NLRP6, NOD1 and GZMA using data from TCGA cohort. The ICGC and GEO cohort were used for model validation. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves showed a good survival prediction by this model. Risk scores had the highest predictable value for survival among Stage, Age, Gender and Grade. Most Immune cells and immune functions were decreased in high-risk group. Besides, function enrichment analyses showed that steroid metabolic process, hormone metabolic process, collagen − containing extracellular matrix, oxidoreductase activity and pyruvate metabolism were enriched. Potential drugs targeted different PCDEGs like Nelarabine, Dexamethasone and Fludarabine were found as well. ATP7A, GLS, CDKN2A, BAK1, CHMP4B, NOD1 were upregulated while NLRP6 and GZMA were downregulated in most HCC cell lines. The potential therapy of Fludarabine was demonstrated when GZMA was low expressed in Huh7 cell line. Conclusion: We constructed a novel 8-gene (ATP7A, GLS, CDKN2A, BAK1, CHMP4B, NLRP6, NOD1 and GZMA) prognostic model and explored potential functional information and microenvironment of HCC, which might be worthy of clinical application. The draining of brain interstitial fluid (ISF) to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and the subsequent draining of CSF to meningeal lymphatics is well‐known. Nonetheless, its role in the development of glioma is a remarkable finding that has to be extensively understood. The glymphatic system (GS) collects CSF from the subarachnoid space and brain ISF through aquaporin‐4 (AQP4) water channels. The glial limiting membrane and the perivascular astrocyte‐end‐feet membrane both have elevated levels of AQP4. CSF is thought to drain through the nerve sheaths of the olfactory and other cranial nerves as well as spinal meningeal lymphatics via dorsal or basal lymphatic vessels. Meningeal lymphatic vessels (MLVs) exist below the skull in the dorsal and basal regions. In this view, MLVs offer a pathway to drain macromolecules and traffic immunological cells from the CNS into cervical lymph nodes (CLNs), and thus can be used as a candidate curing strategy against glioma and other associated complications, such as neuro‐inflammation. Taken together, the lymphatic drainage system could provide a route or approach for drug targeting of glioma and other neurological conditions. Nevertheless, its pathophysiological role in glioma remains elusive, which needs extensive research. The amine vapour produced by microorganisms is an important indicator of food spoilage. Amines are also ubiquitous in the chemical industry. The development of molecule-based ion sensors has been a pivotal issue that is currently receiving considerable attention. In this work, a new pyrylium salt-based fluorescent probe MTPY has been developed as a rapid, highly sensitive, and selective sensor for methylamine vapour. MTPY exhibits an obvious fluorescence response from yellow to cyan towards CH3NH2 vapour. The calibration curve of titration analysis shows a linear relationship of the fluorescence intensity at 514 nm versus the methylamine concentration in the range of 0.1–2 ppm. Scutebarbatine B (SBT-B) is a neo-clerodane diterpenic compound isolated from Scutellaria barbata D. Don (S. barbata), which has been reported to exhibit inhibitory P-glycoprotein (P-gp) property in MCF-7/ADR cells. However, its metabolism and molecular mechanism of reversal multidrug resistance (MDR) in breast cancer remains unclear. This study investigated the metabolite profile of SBT-B in rats by UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap-MS/MS, and explored its mechanism of reversal MDR through network pharmacology and molecular docking studies. A total of 16 Phase I metabolites and 2 Phase II metabolites were identified, and 18 metabolites were all newly discovered metabolites as novel compounds. The metabolic pathway of SBT-B mainly includes oxidization, reduction, hydrolysis, acetylation and glycination. Meanwhile, network pharmacology analyses showed that SBT-B mainly regulated p27 phosphorylation during cell cycle progression, p53 signaling pathway, influence of Ras and Rho proteins on G1 to S Transition. Molecular docking studies revealed that SBT-B exhibits the potential to inhibit P-gp expression by selectively binding to GLN721 and ALA981 residue sites at the interface of P-gp. In addition, SBT-B exhibits moderate binding affinity with CDK2 and E2F1. This study illustrated the major metabolic pathways of SBT-B in vivo, clarified detailed information on SBT-B metabolites in rats, and uncovered the potential mechanism of SBT-B reversal MDR in breast cancer, providing new insights for the development of P-gp inhibitors. Neurovascular dysfunction is a primary or secondary cause in the pathogenesis of several cerebrovascular and neurodegenerative disorders, including stroke. Therefore, the overall protection of the neurovascular unit (NVU) is a promising therapeutic strategy for various neurovascular diseases. However, the complexity of the NVU limits the study of the pathological mechanisms of neurovascular dysfunction. Reconstituting the in vitro NVU is important for the pathological study and drug screening of neurovascular diseases. In this study, we generated a spontaneously assembled three‐dimensional NVU (3D NVU) by employing the primary neural stem cells and brain microvascular endothelial cells in a Matrigel extracellular matrix platform. This novel model exhibits the fundamental structures and features of the NVU, including neurons, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, vascular‐like structures, and blood–brain barrier‐like characteristics. Additionally, under oxygen‐glucose deprivation, the 3D NVU exhibits the neurovascular‐ or oxidative stress‐related pathological characteristics of cerebral ischemia and the injuries can be mitigated, respectively, by supplementing with the vascular endothelial growth factor or edaravone, which demonstrated that the availability of 3D NVU in ischemic stroke modeling. Finally, the 3D NVU promoted the angiogenesis and neurogenesis in the brain of cerebral ischemia rats. We expect that the proposed in vitro 3D NVU model will be widely used to investigate the relationships between angiogenesis and neurogenesis and to study the pathology and pharmacology of neurovascular diseases. The perennial species Dasypyrum breviaristatum (genome Vb) contains many potentially valuable genes for the improvement of common wheat. Construction of a detailed karyotype of D. breviaristatum chromosomes will be useful for the detection of Dasypyrum chromatin in wheat background. We established the standard karyotype of 1Vb–7Vb chromosomes through nondenaturing fluorescence in situ hybridization (ND-FISH) technique using 28 oligonucleotide probes from the wheat – D. breviaristatum partial amphiploid TDH-2 (AABBVbVb) and newly identified wheat – D. breviaristatum disomic translocation and addition lines D2138 (6VbS.2VbL), D2547 (4Vb), and D2532 (3VbS.6VbL) by comparative molecular marker analysis. The ND-FISH with multiple oligo probes was conducted on the durum wheat – D. villosum amphiploid TDV-1 and large karyotype differences between D. breviaristatum and D. villosum was revealed. These ND-FISH probes will be valuable for screening the wheat – Dasypyrum derivative lines for chromosome identification, and the newly developed wheat – D. breviaristatum addition lines may broaden the gene pool of wheat breeding. The differences between D. villosum and D. breviaristatum chromosomes revealed by ND-FISH will help us understand evolutionary divergence of repetitive sequences within the genus Dasypyrum. Joint scanning laser thermography (JLST) is well-known for its efficiency to overcome the field of view (FOV) limitation of thermal imagers. However, JSLT requires a data reconstruction to reveal the location of the defective area straightforwardly. Moreover, its detection capacity is limited by the lack of a deconvolution algorithm adaptive to the reconstructed data. In this study, a deconvolutional reconstruction method based on the Lucy–Richardson (LR) algorithm has been developed for JST, which is effective in suppressing random noise and the blur effect caused by the thermal diffusion. A JSLT inspection is carried out on a functional coating material with cylinder-like defects to test the performance of the proposed method. In comparison to the directly processed method on the original data, the proposed method is processed on the reconstructed data and then compared with principal component analysis (PCA), restored pseudo heat flux (RPHF), fast Fourier transform (FFT) methods and non-negative matrix factorization (NMF). The experimental results indicated that our proposed LR method exhibited a higher signal-to-noise ratio. Besides, it can detect the cylinder-mocked debonding defects with a diameter of 1.5 mm and a depth of 2.0 mm buried under the 1.0-mm coating. In addition, the defect detection diameter-to-depth ratio reached 1.5, while the defect detection rate of the test specimens can approach 90%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A highly sensitive and selective colorimetric and NIR fluorescent probe NRB was reported with a LOD of 50 and 16 ppt. The probe can be used to trace food spoilage. In this work, we reported a chromogenic and near infrared (NIR) region fluorogenic dual-channel probe NRB, which could visually detect gaseous amines with high sensitivity (eg. 50 and 17 ppt for methylamine (MeNH 2) via naked eyes and fluorescence spectrometer respectively). It exhibited a wide fluorescent emission band extending to the NIR region with a peak at 615 nm when stimulated by the MeNH 2 solution. The plausible sensing mechanism was proved by mass spectrometry, where the reaction process was based on a nucleophilic substitution between the probe and amines rather than the ester group hydrolysis. Furthermore, NRB was successfully applied to monitor the food freshness (seafood and meat food), because of its low cytotoxicity and excellent photophysical properties. It was worth mentioning that real time monitoring for food quality can be realized visually by using a 365 nm UV lamp. In addition, the probe was stable during the quality guarantee period for perishable packaged food. More than half of non‐muscle‐invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) patients eventually relapse even if treated with surgery and BCG without optional bladder‐preserving therapy. This study aims to investigate the antitumor activity and safety of a HER2‐targeted antibody‐drug conjugate, RC48‐ADC, intravesical instillation for NMIBC treatment. In this preclinical study, it is revealed that human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) expression scores of 1+, 2+, and 3+ are recorded for 16.7%, 56.2%, and 14.6% of NMIBC cases. The antitumor effect of RC48‐ADC is positively correlated with HER2 expression in bladder cancer (BCa) cell lines and organoid models. Furthermore, RC48‐ADC is revealed to exert its antitumor effect by inducing G2/M arrest and caspase‐dependent apoptosis. In an orthotopic BCa model, tumor growth is significantly inhibited by intravesical instillation of RC48‐ADC versus disitamab, monomethyl auristatin E, epirubicin, or phosphate‐buffered saline control. The potential toxicity of intravesical RC48‐ADC is also assessed by dose escalation in normal nude mice and revealed that administration of RC48‐ADC by intravesical instillation is safe within the range of effective therapeutic doses. Taken together, RC48‐ADC demonstrates promising antitumor effects and safety with intravesical administration in multiple preclinical models. The mesenchymal (MES) subtype of glioblastoma (GBM) suggested worse prognosis and a more malignant phenotype in comparison with their proneural (PN) counterpart. The plasticity between PN and MES transcriptome signatures provided clinical intervention with an manner. Few LncRNA, however, have been discovered to take part in the shift between subtypes. Here, we used transcriptomic data and experimental evidences to demonstrate that silencing LncRNA LOXL1-AS1 was a new regulator of NF-κB signaling pathway through repressing RELB directly, resulting in increased marker genes of PN subtype and decreased those of MES.GBM cell proliferation was functionally suppressed by LOXL1-AS1 's knockdown expression,. Furthermore, RELB's rescue could reverse LOXL1-AS1 's effects partially in GBM malignant behaviors. LOXL1-AS1 could clinically serve as a poor prognostic indicator for GBM patients. In conclusion, our results suggest that LOXL1-AS1 contributes to aggressive biological processes that are related with MES phenotype via NF-κB signaling, which expand our perceptions into the underlying mechanisms in LOXL1-AS1 -based and subtype transition adapted medicine for GBM management. A method without requirements on knowledge about thermal properties of coatings or those of substrates will be interested in the industrial application. Supervised machine learning regressions may provide possible solution to the problem. This paper compares the performances of two regression models (artificial neural networks (ANN) and support vector machines for regression (SVM)) with respect to coating thickness estimations made based on surface temperature increments collected via time resolved thermography. We describe SVM roles in coating thickness prediction. Non-dimensional analyses are conducted to illustrate the effects of coating thicknesses and various factors on surface temperature increments. It’s theoretically possible to correlate coating thickness with surface increment. Based on the analyses, the laser power is selected in such a way: during the heating, the temperature increment is high enough to determine the coating thickness variance but low enough to avoid surface melting. Sixty-one pain-coated samples with coating thicknesses varying from 63.5 μm to 571 μm are used to train models. Hyper-parameters of the models are optimized by 10-folder cross validation. Another 28 sets of data are then collected to test the performance of the three methods. The study shows that SVM can provide reliable predictions of unknown data, due to its deterministic characteristics, and it works well when used for a small input data group. The study here demonstrates the capability of thermography to detect and characterize pinhole defects in a visually transparent anti-reflection (AR) film. The diameter of the pin-holes varies from 0.03 mm to 4 mm. Each inspected area was unevenly heated for 65 s. Thermal images were processed by the following steps: de-trend processing, primary edge detection based on Sobel approximation, and further edge separation based on k-means clustering. Then, the diameter of pinholes was directly measured from binary images. The proposed image processing enables thermography to detect 86 of 90 inspected areas correctly in position. [Display omitted] Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) mediated signaling is relevant to fibrosis and the proliferation of pulmonary cells, such as the promotion of fibroblast accumulation and stimulation of the TGF-β signal. One of the essential mechanisms to reduce lysophosphatidic acid production is inhibiting autotaxin activity, which can block the hydrolysis of a lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) into LPA, leading to the alleviation of the development of pulmonary fibrosis. Recently, 3,4-difluorobenzyl(1-ethyl-5-(4-((4-hydroxypiperidin-1-yl)-methyl)-thiazol-2-yl)-1H-indol-3-yl)carbamate (NAI59), a novel autotaxin inhibitor, showed outstanding anti-pulmonary fibrosis therapeutic effectiveness; however, the metabolic information of NAI59 has not been comprehensively expounded yet. Therefore, in this study, we aim to identify the metabolites of NAI59 in rats using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-high-resolution tandem mass spectrometry, and we analyze the potential anti-fibrosis of metabolites in plasma using molecular docking with the crystal structure autotaxin. As a result, a total of 24 metabolites, namely, 15 phase I metabolites and 9 phase II metabolites, were identified, all of which are the novel discovered metabolites. The metabolic pathways of NAI59 were primarily hydroxylation, oxidation, hydrogenation, glucuronic acid conjugation, sulfate conjugation, acetylation, and glucosylation. The molecular docking result showed that the identified metabolites in plasma had great affinities upon docking into the active site of autotaxin, indicating they may have potential anti-pulmonary fibrosis activity. The interaction plots revealed the importance of fluorophenyl and the hydroxyl groups on piperidine that contribute toward the formation of hydrogen bonds with autotaxin. Additionally, we found that the metabolite possessed a better docking result when the structure contained a glucuronic acid group. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first research into the metabolic fate of NAI59 in rats, and we analyze the potential anti-fibrosis aspects of metabolites using molecular docking. As a key step of tumor lymphatic metastasis, lymphangiogenesis is regulated by VEGFC‐VEGFR3 signaling pathway mediated by immune cells, mainly macrophages, in the tumor microenvironment. However, little is known whether tumor associated neutrophils are involved in lymphangiogenesis. Here, it is found that TANs infiltration is increased in LN‐metastatic BCa and is associated with poor prognosis. Neutrophil depletion results in significant reduction in popliteal LN metastasis and lymphangiogenesis. Mechanistically, transcription factor ETV4 enhances BCa cells‐derived CXCL1/8 to recruit TANs, leading to the increase of VEGFA and MMP9 from TANs, and then facilitating lymphangiogenesis and LN metastasis of BCa. Moreover, phosphorylation of ETV4 at tyrosine 392 by tyrosine kinase PTK6 increases nuclear translocation of ETV4 and is essential for its function in BCa. Overall, the findings reveal a novel mechanism of how tumor cells regulate TANs‐induced lymphangiogenesis and LN metastasis and identify ETV4 as a therapeutic target of LN metastasis in BCa. Two improved analytical methods of calculations for natural frequencies and mode shapes of a uniform cantilever beam carrying a tip-mass under base excitation are presented based on forced vibration theory and the method of separation of variables, respectively. The cantilever model is simplified in detail by replacing the tip-mass with an equivalent inertial force and inertial moment acting at the free end of the cantilever based on D'Alembert's principle. The concentrated equivalent inertial force and inertial moment are further represented as distributed loads using Dirac Delta Function. In this case, some typical natural frequencies and mode shapes of the cantilever model are calculated by the improved and unimproved analytical methods. The comparing results show that, after improvement, these two methods are in extremely good agreement with each other even the offset distance between the gravity center of the tip-mass and the attachment point is large. As further verification, the transient and steady displacement responses of the cantilever system under a sine base excitation are presented in which two improved methods are separately utilized. Nauclea officinalis , a widely used Li medicine, has been used for the treatment of cold, fever, bronchitis, pneumonia, acute tonsillitis, and other ailments. Modern pharmacological studies have demonstrated that the most abundant and active components in N. officinalis are alkaloids, which possess various biological properties such as antibacterial and antitumor activities. To investigate the phytochemical profile of a selected group of alkaloids from the N. officinalis total alkaloids, and to determine the chemical profile of the alkaloids extracted from rat plasma. Further investigation was conducted to determine the pharmacokinetic behaviors of 11 selected major alkaloids, including pumiloside, naucleoxoside A, naucleoxoside B, nauclefine, angustidine, angustoline, (3 S,19S)-3,14-dihydroangustoline, [ α ] D 20 : (−)191°, (3 S,19R)-3,14-dihydroangustoline, [ α ] D 20 : (−) 294.7°, strictosamide, angustine, and 3,14-dihydroangustine. N. officinalis total alkaloids were extracted with 79% ethanol and enriched with AB-8 macroporous resin. The phytochemical profile of alkaloids from the N. officinalis total alkaloids and the chemical profile of the alkaloids extracted from rat plasma were first analyzed by UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS. A simple, convenient, and sensitive LC-ESI-MS/MS method was subsequently developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of major active alkaloids in rat plasma after oral administration of N. officinalis total alkaloids. After addition of an internal standard (verapamil), plasma samples were pretreated first by protein precipitation with methanol and then underwent liquid-liquid extraction with ethyl acetate. Chromatographic separation was achieved using a Waters BEH C 18 column (2.1 mm × 100 mm, 1.7 μm) at 30 °C, with gradient elution using a mobile phase consisting of 0.1% formic acid aqueous solution (A) and acetonitrile (B), a flow rate of 0.2 mL/min, and a total run time of 30 min. The detection was performed using an electrospray ionization triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer with multiple reaction monitoring and positive ionization mode. Based on the fragmentation patterns of 11 authentic alkaloids and previous reports, 55 alkaloids were identified or tentatively identified in the N. officinalis total alkaloids. Among them, 25 alkaloids were absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract in rats after administration of the N. officinalis total alkaloids. The 11 alkaloids were selected for quantitative analysis. The established quantitative method was fully validated and proved to be sensitive and specific. Satisfactory linearity of the 11 alkaloids obtained in the respective concentration ranges (r > 0.9931). The lower limits of quantification for strictosamide was 20.86 ng/ml, and the other ten alkaloids were all less than 4.47 ng/ml in rat plasma. The intra-and inter-day precision was less than 15% for all 11 alkaloids in terms of relative standard deviation, and the accuracies ranged from −11.4% to 11.1% in terms of relative error. Extraction recovery, matrix effect, and stability were within the required limits in rat plasma. The validated method was successfully applied to investigate the pharmacokinetics of the 11 alkaloids in rat plasma after oral administration of N. officinalis total alkaloids. Eleven alkaloids were rapidly absorbed to achieve a maximum plasma concentration with T max from 0.25 h to 1.5 h after oral administration. Abstract: Power harvesting techniques that convert vibration energy into electrical energy through piezoelectric transducers show strong potential for powering smart wireless sensor devices in applications of structural health monitoring. This paper presents an analytical model of the dynamic behavior of an electromechanical piezoelectric bimorph cantilever harvester connected with an AC–DC circuit based on the Euler–Bernoulli beam theory and Hamiltonian theorem. A new cantilevered piezoelectric bimorph structure is proposed in which the plug-type connection between support layer and tip-mass ensures that the gravity center of the tip-mass is collinear with the gravity center of the beam so that the brittle fracture of piezoelectric layers can also be avoided while vibrating with large amplitude. The tip-mass is equated by the inertial force and inertial moment acting at the end of the piezoelectric bimorph beam based on D''Alembert''s principle. An AC–DC converting circuit soldered with the piezoelectric elements is also taken into account. A completely new analytic expression of the global behavior of the electromechanical piezoelectric bimorph harvesting system with AC–DC circuit under input base transverse excitation is derived. Background: To compare the diagnostic positive rate and complication rate between the electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy (ENB) technique and computed tomography (CT)‐guided lung puncture for the biopsy of lung nodules located in the middle of an anatomic lung segment. Methods: Electronic medical records of 114 patients who underwent lung nodule biopsy between June 2021 and June 2022 were retrospectively evaluated. In all patients, the nodules were located in the middle third lung segment. To compare the diagnostic positive and complication rates between the two biopsy modalities performed in this lung region, clinical data, complication rates, nodule pathology, and imaging results were reviewed based on nodule characteristics retrieved from the electronic medical records. Results: Ninety‐three patients underwent CT‐guided lung puncture, while the remaining 21 patients underwent the ENB technique. No significant difference was observed in the diagnostic positive rate between the two groups (73.6 and 76.1%, respectively). In the CT‐guided lung puncture group, pneumothorax incidence, tube placement, postoperative hemorrhage, and symptomatic hemorrhage rates were 16.1, 6.5, 6.5, and 1.1%, respectively. In contrast, no complications occurred in the ENB group. Conclusions: The ENB technique is a safe and effective method for performing biopsies of pulmonary nodules with a diagnostic positive rate comparable to that of CT‐guided lung puncture and with a lower postoperative complication rate. Infrared thermography testing (IRT) has been widely used in the defect detection of composite materials. However, the identification of defects characteristics is unsatisfying due to the interference of factors such as uneven background and noise in the original thermal image sequence. A novel thermography-based defect detection method with the semantic segmentation network is proposed to enhance the defect contrast and extract perfect features. To Figure out the abnormal distribution of temperature field in thermal images, AG-UNet was used with a spatial self-attention gate module to extract spatial features of thermal images. The 3D-UNet network was obtained by the 3D convolution module and the temporal convolution module to extract thermal temporal and spatial features simultaneously which could help the defect segmentation in thermal videos. Compared with traditional algorithms such as principal component analysis (PCA), thermographic signal reconstruction (TSR), and fast Fourier transform (FFT), defects detection results were significantly enhanced with the proposed method, and defects of smaller diameter-to-depth ratio can be detected by deep learning models. In this paper, terahertz (THz) imaging and vibro-thermography (VT) are implemented for non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of CFRP subjected to impact damage. THz inspection is well-known for its outstanding detection depth in dielectric materials but unreliable in conductive materials like carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP): an unwanted electro-magnetic wave will be excited under the irradiation of THz waves in conductive molecules and interrupted the reflective waves leading to a blur in the detection results. However, our experimental results showed THz imaging is comparable when it's used to detect surface defects and shallow ones caused by impact loads. We conducted a set of VT tests as a contrast test, and the VT data are processed by Fourier transform and eigenvector decomposition algorithms, i.e. independent component analysis (ICA). Compared with VT, THz imaging show more details on surface defects and shallow-buried ones due to the absence of thermal diffusion effects. THz imaging could perform non-invasive, non-ionizing and non-contact inspection on the impact damage based on the differences in reflective index. The proprietary Chinese medicine Jinkui Shenqi Pill (PCM-JKSQP) is a classic compound used for the effective clinical treatment of kidney yang deficiency syndrome (KYDS), a metabolic disease accompanied by kidney injury. However, its active ingredients and therapeutic mechanisms are not clear. This study employed serum pharmacochemistry, network pharmacology, and pharmacokinetics (PK) to identify the bioactive components of PCM-JKSQP and preliminarily clarify its mechanism in treating KYDS. One hundred and forty chemical components of PCM-JKSQP, 47 (20 parent compouds and 27 metabolites) of which were absorbed into the blood, were identified by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC - Q - Orbitrap HRMS). The topological parameters of network pharmacology and high concentrations in blood found six parent components as PK markers (cinnamic acid, paeonol, loganin, morroniside, apigenin, and poricoic acid A). PK analysis further identified these six compounds as active ingredients. Protein-protein interaction (PPI) analysis and molecular docking simulation predicted and verified eight core targets (TP53, ESR1, CTNNB1, EP300, EGFR, AKT1, ERBB2, and TNF). Most were concentrated in the MAPK, HIF-1, and PI3K-AKT signaling pathways, indicating that these six active ingredients may mainly exert therapeutic effects through these three pathways via their core targets. The PK results also showed these six components were absorbed quickly, although cinnamic acid and paeonol were rapidly metabolized, with a short half-life and retention time. Loganin and morroniside did not have high peak concentrations, and apigenin and poricoic acid A had long retention times. This study provides a new overall perspective for exploring the bioactive components and mechanisms underlying the effects of PCM-JKSQP in treating KYDS. Senecio scandens Buch.-Ham., a traditional Chinese medicine commonly used clinically, exhibits various pharmacological properties, including anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, antiviral, and antibacterial activities. However, its water extracts' chemical components and metabolites are inadequately understood, limiting further research. In this study, the chemical components and metabolism processes of Senecio scandens, both in vivo (plasma, feces, urine, and bile) and in vitro (gut microbiota and liver microsomes), were characterized based on ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with hybrid quadrupole-orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry. Additionally, metabolites detectable in fecal samples and intestinal microbiota incubated but absent in liver microsomes were identified as characteristic metabolites of intestinal microbiota. The targets of the characteristic metabolites of intestinal microbiota were collected, followed by exploration of potential pathways through KEGG enrichment analysis. As a result, a total of 133 chemical components were preliminarily identified, including 35 organic acids, 21 alkaloids, 19 flavonoids and their glycosides, 17 phenylpropanoids, 10 jacaranda ketones, and 31 other compounds. Notably, 12 of these were potentially novel compounds. In addition, 39 prototype components in rats and 109 metabolites were identified and characterized, including 102 in vivo and 52 metabolites in vitro (51 in rat gut microbiota and 24 in rat liver microsomes). The main metabolic pathways include oxidation, reduction, hydrolysis, methylation, glucuronidation, sulfonation, and acetylation reactions. Furthermore, KEGG enrichment analysis revealed that the characteristic metabolites of intestinal microbiota may be related to the ErbB, FoxO, mTOR, and MAPK signaling pathways, exhibiting anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects. Millimeter-wave (mm-Wave) technology has opened a new era of wireless communication systems in various fields like automotive, mobile devices, Internet of Things (IoT), military, medical, and others. The benefit of adopting the unconventional frequency spectrum of large bandwidth under an mm-Wave spectrum is the availability of large bandwidth and lesser chances of interferences from various technologies. In the recent 5G communication systems either cellular or other wireless applications, many researchers have focused on mm-Wave antennas and arrays. In this paper, a dual-array antenna system is designed for various 5G mm-Wave wireless applications. It has two arrays on the same substrate edges with a series feed line compact technique. The profile antenna system has two 1x16 arrays on the same substrate edges. Each array gives 17.3 dB and 16.4 dB simulated and measured gains and impedance bandwidth 31.30 GHz to 39 GHz at 38 GHz center frequency. The feature to use both arrays at the same time for two different applications within the operational band for same or different center frequencies makes this proposed dual-array antenna system a good candidate for 5G mm-Wave wireless IoT and broadcast applications. The wild species, Thinopyrum intermedium. (Genome StStJSJSJJ), serves as a valuable germplasm resource providing novel genes for wheat improvement. In the current study, non-denaturing fluorescence in situ hybridization (ND-FISH) with multiple probes and comparative molecular markers were applied to characterize two wheat-Th. intermedium chromosome additions. Sequential ND-FISH with new labeled Th. intermedium specific oligo-probes were used to precisely determine the chromosomal constitution of Th. intermedium, wheat—Th. intermedium partial amphiploids and addition lines Hy36 and Hy37. The ND-FISH results showed that the added JS-St translocated chromosomes in Hy36 had minor Oligo-5S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) signals at the short arm, while a pair of J-St chromosomes in Hy37 had major Oligo-pTa71 and minor Oligo-5S rDNA signals. The 90K SNP array and PCR-based molecular markers that mapped on wheat linkage group 5 and 3 facilitated the identification of Thinopyrum chromosome introgressions in the addition lines, and confirmed that added chromosomes in Hy36 and Hy37 were 5JSS.3StS and 5JS.3StS, respectively. Complete coding sequences at the paralogous puroindoline-a (Pina) loci from Th. intermedium were cloned and localized on the short arm of chromosome 5JS of Hy36. Line Hy36 showed a reduction in the hardness index, which suggested that Th. intermedium-specific Pina gene sequences may be associated with the softness trait in wheat background. The molecular cytogenetic identification of novel wheat—Th. intermedium derivatives indicated that the frequent chromosome rearrangement occurred in the progenies of wheat-Thinopyrum hybridization. Antenna is a very important element and plays a key role in communication systems for radiating energy. Based on high data rate speed requirements and large volume multimedia applications, 3G, 4G and now 5G technologies have been introduced and implemented. This paper presents a low profile antenna with novel structure and large continuous bandwidth for 5G broadband and millimeter-wave wireless applications. It is an H-plane printed horn antenna with multi-layered sandwich substrate. There are two Rogers (RO3003(tm)) substrates that make a sandwich structure with eight stainless steel columns. The proposed antenna is expected to give an impedance bandwidth 20-45 GHz with S11 < -10dB and 8.64dBi gain at 28 GHz design frequency. ANSYS 18.2 HFSS simulator is used for designing and optimization of the profile antenna. A comparison between simulated and measured results confirms the validity of the proposed design. Based on the orderly and concise literature research, this paper focuses on a comprehensive review of the main research results in the field of non-contact non-destructive testing imaging methods for chip defects. Firstly, various defects that may occur in the chip design and packaging process are introduced. Then the contact detection methods including manual and probe method are clarified, and the principles, properties and development applications of NDT methods are introduced in detail, also the defect identification methods after imaging are briefly introduced. Moreover, the advantages and limitations of NDT technologies are summarised through comparative studies. Finally, the future development trend of non-destructive testing methods is predicted. Aquaporin 4 (AQP4) is a primary water channel found on astrocytes in the central nervous system (CNS). Besides its function in water and ion homeostasis, AQP4 has also been documented to be involved in a myriad of acute and chronic cerebral pathologies, including autoimmune neurodegenerative diseases. AQP4 has been postulated to be associated with the incidence of a progressive neurodegenerative disorder known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a disease that targets the motor neurons, causing muscle weakness and eventually paralysis. Raised AQP4 levels were noted in association with vessels surrounded with swollen astrocytic processes as well as in the brainstem, cortex, and gray matter in patients with terminal ALS. AQP4 depolarization may lead to motor neuron degeneration in ALS via GLT-1. Besides, alterations in AQP4 expression in ALS may result in the loss of blood-brain barrier (BBB) integrity. Changes in AQP4 function may also disrupt K+ homeostasis and cause connexin dysregulation, the latter of which is associated to ALS disease progression. Furthermore, AQP4 suppression augments recovery in motor function in ALS, a phenomenon thought to be associated to NGF. No therapeutic drug targeting AQP4 has been developed to date. Deep-sedated colonoscopy with propofol is widely used in China. However, its impact on quality metrics remains controversial. We aimed to investigate the effects of deep-sedated colonoscopy on missed adenomas, specifically in each colorectal segment. Data of 3710 individuals from seven hospitals in China who underwent an initial colonoscopy with or without propofol sedation and a second colonoscopy without sedation within six months for surveillance or polypectomy by endoscopist of the same level between October 2020 and September 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 1113 missed adenomas in 3710 patients were evaluated. The adenoma miss rate (AMR) was significantly higher in deep-sedated colonoscopy than in unsedated colonoscop [19.14% (578/3020) vs. 16.15% (535/3313), P < 0.05]. The risk of missing adenomas in deep-sedated colonoscopy was 1.229 times higher than in unsedated colonoscopy (OR, 1.229; 95% CI: 1.080–1.399). AMRs of the splenic flexure (26.02% [96/369] vs. 16.04% [47/293], P < 0.05) and descending colon (20.86% [102/489] vs. 13.37% [54/404], P < 0.05) were significantly higher in deep-sedated colonoscopy than in unsedated colonoscopy when performed by middle-level endoscopists rather than high-level endoscopists (P < 0.05). Active three-dimensional(3-D) thermography combines 3-D shape and active thermography. Thus, it enables the provision of the intuitive thermographic inspection results for composite parts with a complex geometry. However, conventional 3-D thermography acquires thermographic information and 3-D shape through at least two independent sensors and requires complex cross-modal image registration algorithm based on the keypoint detection and matching. In this article, an active 3-D thermography system is proposed using only one thermal camera for moving objects. This system does not require an independent 3-D sensor while the thermal camera acts as the 3-D sensor. Nature behind that is that a mathematical model is proposed to unify the line scanning thermography and laser triangulation in the dynamic scanning process, taking a line laser as both heat excitation for active thermography and spatial coding for 3-D reconstruction. Furthermore, the model enables the feature-free registration of thermogram sequence and 3-D shape, so that the registration is fast and robust without keypoint features. The experiments on standard height specimens, 3-D printing glass fiber composites, and carbon fiber intake tube have shown the error is calibrated within 0.25 mm in the range of 1 to 150 mm and evidenced the capability for subsurface defects detection. The construction of the 28-chromosome karyotype of Dasypyrum breviaristatum was undertaken using multicolor non-denaturing fluorescent in situ hybridization (ND-FISH) and Oligo-FISH painting protocols. A novel wheat-D. breviaristatum line D2138 contained 44 chromosomes including a pair of D. breviaristatum 6VbS.2VbL translocation chromosomes. Individual F2 and F3 progenies of a cross between D2138 with wheat lines CM62, MY11 and JM22, respectively, were characterized using ND-FISH and molecular markers. A relatively high chromosome alteration rate within wheat and D. breviaristatum 6VbS and 2VbL was observed in the three progeny populations, suggesting that chromosome 6VbS.2VbL has a gametocidal-like gene. The different types of translocation and deletion lines allowed localization of D. breviaristatum-specific gliadin coding genes on sub-telomeric regions of 6VbS by PCR and acid polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis analysis. The positive effect of the D. breviaristatum 6VbS on agronomic and quality characters was also demonstrated. Infrared imaging-based machine vision (IRMV) is the technology used to automatically inspect, detect, and analyse infrared images (or videos) obtained by recording the intensity of infrared light emitted or reflected by observed objects. Depending on whether controllable excitation is used during the imaging of infrared rays, thermal IRMV can be categorised into passive thermography and active thermography. Passive thermography is an important supplement to conventional machine vision based on visible light and is a valid imaging tool for self-heating objects such as the human body and electrical power devices. Active thermography is a non-destructive testing method for the quality evaluation and safety assurance of non-self-heating objects. In active thermography, the trend is to inspect rapidly, reliably, and intelligently by introducing multiple-mode excitation sources and artificial intelligence. The rapid development of deep learning makes IRMV more and more intelligent and highly automated, thus considerably increasing its range of applications. This paper reviews the principle, cameras, and thermal data of IRMV and discusses the applications of deep learning applied to IRMV. Case studies of IRMV and deep learning on various platforms such as unmanned vehicles, mobile phones and embedded systems are also reported. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SUMMARY: A chromosome‐specific painting technique has been developed which combines the most recent approaches of the companion disciplines of molecular cytogenetics and genome research. We developed seven oligonucleotide (oligo) pools derivd from single‐copy sequences on chromosomes 1 to 7 of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) and corresponding collinear regions of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). The seven groups of pooled oligos comprised between 10 986 and 12 496 45‐bp monomers, and these then produced stable fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) signals on chromosomes of each linkage group of wheat and barley. The pooled oligo probes were applied to high‐throughput karyotyping of the chromosomes of other Triticeae species in the genera Secale, Aegilops, Thinopyrum, and Dasypyrum, and the study also extended to some wheat‐alien amphiploids and derived lines. We demonstrated that a complete set of whole‐chromosome oligo painting probes facilitated the study of inter‐species chromosome homologous relationships and visualized non‐homologous chromosomal rearrangements in Triticeae species and some wheat‐alien species derivatives. When combined with other non‐denaturing FISH procedures using tandem‐repeat oligos, the newly developed oligo painting techniques provide an efficient tool for the study of chromosome structure, organization, and evolution among any wild Triticeae species with non‐sequenced genomes. Although the critical role of hypoxia inducible factor‐1α (HIF‐1α) in cerebral neovascularization after stroke has been well characterized, the details regarding the regulation of endothelial progenitor cell (EPC)‐dependent neovascularization by HIF‐1α are not completely understood. Using lentiviral shRNA to knockdown HIF‐1α, we showed that HIF‐1α plays a central role in bone marrow‐derived EPC (bmEPC) homing and sprouting in the post‐acute stage of ischemic Sprague Dawley (SD) rat brains. First, knockdown of HIF‐1α decreased the homing of both endogenous and exogenous bmEPCs to the ischemic brain. Additionally, the knockdown impaired the incorporation and sprouting of bmEPCs in the ischemic brain. In vitro, knockdown of HIF‐1α inhibited the spheroid sprouting and tube formation of bmEPCs. Mechanically, the HIF‐1α‐dependent recruitment of bmEPCs to the ischemic brain was relative to the CXCL12/CXCR4 axis and HMGB1, which were relative to astrocytes. In addition, the loss of HIF‐1α resulted in deficient expression levels of VEGF‐A, Flk‐1, NRP1, and Dll4 in the ischemic brains, bmEPCs, and astrocytes. These findings suggested that HIF‐1α implicates in bmEPC homing via CXCL12/CXCR4 and HMGB1 and that it promotes bmEPC sprouting via VEGF‐A/flk1‐NRP1/Dll4. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Chansu is a traditional Chinese medicine that is generally recognized as a specific inhibitor of Na + /K + -ATPase. Bufalin, an active component of Chansu, is an endogenous steroid hormone with great potential as a cancer treatment. However, the mechanism by which it exerts its antitumor activity requires further research. Currently, the α1 subunit of Na + /K + -ATPase (ATP1A1) is known to exert important roles in tumorigenesis, and the precise mechanisms underlying the effect of Bufalin on the Na + /K + -ATPase α1 subunit was therefore investigated in this study to determine its role in glioblastoma treatments. The effect of ATP1A1 on the sensitivity of glioblastoma cells to Bufalin was investigated using MTT assays, RT-PCR and siRNA. Western blot was also used to explore the important roles of the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway in the Bufalin-mediated inhibition of ATP1A1. Xenografted mice were used to examine the anti-tumor activity of Bufalin in vivo . LC–MS/MS analysis was performed to determine the ability of Bufalin to traverse the blood-brain barrier (BBB). The results indicated that Bufalin inhibited the expression of ATP1A1 in glioblastoma by promoting the activation of proteasomes and the subsequent protein degradation of ATP1A1, while Bufalin had no effect on ATP1A1 protein synthesis. Bufalin also inhibited the expression of ATP1A1 in xenografted mice and significantly suppressed tumor growth. These data should contribute to future basic and clinical investigations of Bufalin. In conclusion, Bufalin significantly inhibited the expression of ATP1A1 in glioblastoma cells by activating the ubiquitin-proteasome signaling pathway. Abstract: Malignant glioma is one of the most challenging central nervous system diseases to treat and has high rates of recurrence and mortality. Current therapies often fail to control tumor progression or improve patient survival. Marinobufagenin (MBG) is an endogenous mammalian cardiotonic steroid involved in sodium pump inhibition. Currently, various studies have indicated the potential of MBG in cancer treatments; however, the precise mechanisms are poorly understood. The functions of MBG were examined using colony formation, migration, cell cycle, and apoptosis assays in glioma cells. A mitochondrial membrane potential assay was performed to determine the mitochondrial transmembrane potential change, and cytochrome c release from mitochondria was assayed by fluorescence microscopy. An immunofluorescence assay was performed, and the nuclear translocation of NF‐κB in glioma cells was confirmed by confocal microscopy. Western blotting and RT‐qPCR were used to detect the protein and gene expression levels, respectively. In addition, transfection experiment of ATP1A1‐siRNA was further carried out to confirm the role of sodium pump α1 subunit in the anticancer effect of MBG in human glioma. The apoptosis‐promoting and anti‐inflammatory effects of MBG were further investigated, and the sodium pump α1 subunit and the ERK signaling pathway were found to be involved in the anticancer effect of MBG. The in vivo anticancer efficacy of MBG was also tested in xenografts in nude mice. Thus, therapies targeting the ERK signaling‐mediated mitochondrial apoptotic pathways regulated by MBG might represent potential treatments for human glioma, and this study could accelerate the finding of newer therapeutic approaches for malignant glioma treatment. The C9orf72 hexanucleotide repeat expansion (HRE) is the most frequent genetic cause of the neurodegenerative diseases amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Here, we describe the pathogenic cascades that are initiated by the C9orf72 HRE DNA. The HRE DNA binds to its protein partner DAXX and promotes its liquid-liquid phase separation, which is capable of reorganizing genomic structures. An HRE-dependent nuclear accumulation of DAXX drives chromatin remodeling and epigenetic changes such as histone hypermethylation and hypoacetylation in patient cells. While regulating global gene expression, DAXX plays a key role in the suppression of basal and stress-inducible expression of C9orf72 via chromatin remodeling and epigenetic modifications of the promoter of the major C9orf72 transcript. Downregulation of DAXX or rebalancing the epigenetic modifications mitigates the stress-induced sensitivity of C9orf72-patient-derived motor neurons. These studies reveal a C9orf72 HRE DNA-dependent regulatory mechanism for both local and genomic architectural changes in the relevant diseases. 5-Amino-1,3-dimethlybarbituric acid (5-amino-diMeBA), prepared form 1,3-dimethlybarbituric acid (diMeBA) via the functional group transformation strategy, is first used as the diazonium component to produce heterocyclic dyes, in order to expand the existing research objects in this area. Role-convert synthesis has been successfully achieved from a general coupling component diMeBA to a corresponding diazonium unit 5-amnio-diMeBA, and three pyrazolone/pyridone coupled bi-heterocyclic dyes were yielded. There are multiple possible azo/hydrazone tautomers for them since three ortho -carbonyl groups could serve as the protonated sites for active protons. The configurational confirmation depends on the precise location of heterocyclic hydroxyl groups, which could be deduced by comparing the alterations of two characteristic methyl single peaks in diMeBA moiety in the 1H NMR spectra before and after deprotonation. Our results reveal that three bi-heterocyclic dyes adopt the monohydrazone form in pyrazolone with 4-OH-diMeBA and the monohydrazone form in diMeBA with 6-OH-pyridone, respectively. Further UV–Vis spectra have been carried out to compare the delocalized π -conjugated system for them, together with three BA coupled heterocyclic dyes. In addition, solvatochromic and acid-base titration experiments were performed to verify the strength of intramolecular charge transfer within the whole molecules and the monohydrazone configuration for every bi-heterocyclic dye. Apatite-type Lanthanum silicate (LSO) is among the most promising electrolyte for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells (IT-SOFCs) owing to the high conductivity and low activation energy at lower temperature than traditional doped-zirconia electrolyte. The ionic conductivity as well as the sintering density of lanthanum silicate oxy-apatite, La 10 Si 6- x Cu x O 27-δ (LSCO, 0 ≤ x ≤ 2), was effectively enhanced through a small amount of doped copper. The phase composition, relative density, ionic conductivity and thermal expansion behavior of La 10 Si 6- x Cu x O 27-δ was systematically investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Archimedes' drainage method, scanning electron microscope (SEM), electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) and thermal dilatometer techniques. With increasing copper doping content, the ionic conductivity of La 10 Si 6- x Cu x O 27-δ increased, reaching a maximum of 4.8 × 10 −2 S cm −1 at 800 °C for x = 1.5. The improved ionic conductivity could be primarily associated with the enhanced grain conductivity. The power output performance of NiO-LSCO/LSCO/LSCF single cell was superior to that obtained on NiO-LSO/LSO/LSCF at different temperatures using hydrogen as fuel and oxygen as oxidant, which could be attributed to the enhanced oxygen ionic conductivity as well as the sintering density for the copped doped lanthanum silicate. In this paper, the ORC (Organic Rankine cycle) technology is adopted to recover the exhaust waste heat of diesel engine. The thermodynamic, economic and optimization models of the ORC system are established, respectively. Firstly, the effects of four key parameters, including evaporation pressure, superheat degree, condensation temperature and exhaust temperature at the outlet of the evaporator on the thermodynamic performances and economic indicators of the ORC system are investigated. Subsequently, based on the established optimization model, GA (genetic algorithm) is employed to solve the Pareto solution of the thermodynamic performances and economic indicators for maximizing net power output and minimizing total investment cost under diesel engine various operating conditions using R600, R600a, R601a, R245fa, R1234yf and R1234ze as working fluids. The most suitable working fluid used in the ORC system for diesel engine waste heat recovery is screened out, and then the corresponding optimal parameter regions are analyzed. The results show that thermodynamic performance of the ORC system is improved at the expense of economic performance. Among these working fluids, R245fa is considered as the most suitable working fluid for the ORC waste heat application of the diesel engine with comprehensive consideration of thermoeconomic performances, environmental impacts and safety levels. Under the various operating conditions of the diesel engine, the optimal evaporation pressure is in the range of 1.1 MPa–2.1 MPa. In addition, the optimal superheat degree and the exhaust temperature at the outlet of the evaporator are mainly influenced by the operating conditions of the diesel engine. Based on the geochemical data obtained from the national project about the prevention and control of soil contamination, this paper explored the properties of soil chemical elements in Huanghuaihai Plain, Shandong Province. The results showed that among the grade-one nutritive elements in soil, organic matter, nitrogen and phosphorus were relatively deficient while potassium was rich. Meanwhile, as the grade-two nutritive elements, calcium oxide and magnesium oxide were relatively short and sulfur's content was abundant. About the other beneficial and trace nutritive elements, iron oxide, manganese, molybdenum and boron were deficient, but the content of chlorine was high, hardly lack. The main barriers to improving land productivity were soil salinization and soil heavy metal contamination. The values of soil integrated fertility index that most of the soil in the study area is middle-lower fertilized. Specifically, the low fertility area and lower fertility area are 6 1604 and 1 244 km2 respectively, occupying about 97.43% and 1.97% of the total area. The moderate fertility soil has an area of 172 km2, occupying about 0.27% of the total area. The higher fertility soil covers an area of 128 km2, while the high fertility area of only 76 km2. This article proposed scientific fertilization, elimination of soil obstacle, remediation of heavy-metal-contaminated soil and other effective measures to improve land productivity according to the basic investigation results, which provides a good technological support for the planning and development of good-quality and high-benefit agriculture. Abstract: A dynamic evaporator model of air source heat pump (ASHP), considering the ratio of the latent heat to sensible heat of wet air, is presented to analyze the performance of ASHP under frosting. The performance parameters, such as the heating capacity, COP and the outlet temperature of compressor, are simulated with CYCLEPAD. Then a semi-empirical correlation that predicts frost accumulation on the air-side of fin-tube heat exchanger is developed with dimensionless analysis and also modified by a test conducted under cold-moist conditions in winter. In addition, eight influence factors are considered involving the ambient conditions and structures of heat exchanger, whose effects are analyzed as well. Among them, the equivalent diameter of air flow cross-section in fin-tube deq is especially proposed. Lastly, the relationships between the ratio, the performance parameters and the frost accumulation are discussed in this paper, followed by an evaluation of an optimal defrosting time interval to improve the ASHP’s energy efficiency and operational reliability at cold-moist conditions in central-south China.
