Backgrounds: Diabetes Mellitus is a condition characterized by high levels of sugar in the blood caused by abnormal insulin production in the body, leading to metabolic disorders that can gradually damage parts or all of the body. Diabetes mellitus can cause serious complications if not properly treated or managed, including neuropathy, which is the most common complication resulting in nerve damage. Neuropathy can be detected early in several ways, including using the monofilament test and Ipswich touch test (IpTT). Purpose: To compare the effectiveness of the monofilament test and Ipswich touch test (IpTT) in the early detection of neuropathy complications in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Method: This study is a quantitative quasi-experiment with a posttest-only control group design. The sample in this study consisted of 32 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, divided into 2 groups: 16 respondents who were treated with the monofilament test and 16 respondents who were treated with the Ipswich touch test. Due to the results of the statistical analysis indicating non-normally distributed but homogeneous data, the Mann-Whitney test was used for data analysis. Results: From the results of the tests carried out, a significance value of 0.003 < 0.05 was obtained; this suggests that the Monofilament Test and Ipswich Touch Test (IpTT) are effective in the early detection of neuropathy complications in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. However, between the two, the monofilament test was found to be more effective compared to the Ipswich Touch Test, with a mean result of 20.84 > 12.16. Conclusions: Both the monofilament test and Ipswich touch test (IpTT) are effective in the early detection of neuropathy complications in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is one of the psychiatric disorders that are partially associated with emotional factors. It can affect the quantity and quality of saliva, present as xerostomia, and trigger the emergence of the geographic tongue (GT).Purpose: This case report aims to discuss the management of xerostomia and geographic tongue in a patient with GAD.Case: A 26-year-old male patient complained of dry and sore mouth for one month after taking medication from the psychiatry department, was diagnosed with GAD, and had already consumed the antidepressant sertraline. Extraoral examination showed dry and exfoliative lips. Intraoral examination showed white plaque with depapilation on the dorsal tongue, frothy saliva, buccal mucosa and dorsal tongue sticking to the dental mirror. The unstimulated salivary flow rate was < 0.2 mL/min (sialometry method). The Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) questionnaire was used to estimate the psychological condition and showed an extremely severe level of anxiety (score = 13). The established oral diagnoses were GT with mild xerostomia and exfoliative cheilitis.Case Management: For two months, patients received hyaluronic acid gel and mouthwash, as well as a non-pharmacological approach to healthy lifestyle counseling. There was an improvement in xerostomia, and the GT became asymptomatic, with a reduction of DASS score in this patient. Conclusion: Improved psychological conditions will improve xerostomia, but the clinical appearance of the geographic tongue is more difficult to eliminate. Keywords: anxiety, DASS-21, geographic tongue, salivary flow rate, xerostomia

Koidz. has been reported for its abundance of chalcone contents. Chalcones have been known for their effective nephroprotective activity toward cisplatin-induced renal cells and mice.Purpose: To investigate the effect of A. keiskei sap extract (ASEE) on kidney function parameters (serum creatinine, urea nitrogen, and kidney injury molecule-1) and the expression of NF-kappaB p65 and COX-2 in cisplatin-induced Wistar rats. Methods: In vivo nephroprotective activity of ASEE at 1000 and 1500 mg/kg BW/day doses for 10 days on cisplatin (5 mg/kg BW) induced nephrotoxicity was evaluated on Wistar rats. Quercetin 20 mg/kg BW/day was used as the control drug. Cisplatin inducement was given on day 7. The BW was measured every day. On day 11, the rats were euthanized, and their blood was taken intracardially for creatinine and urea nitrogen analysis. Histopathological analysis was carried out on the right kidney, and KIM-1 levels in the left kidney were measured. The Western blot technique evaluated the NF-kappaB p65 and COX-2 expression in the kidney. All data obtained were compared to the cisplatin group (negative control). The total flavonoids and chalcones in ASEE were also determined. Results: Pretreatment with ASEE reduces the BW of Wistar rats, and significantly reduces creatinine and KIM-1 levels, but does not significantly reduce the levels of urea nitrogen, the expression of NF-kappaB p65, and COX-2 in the kidney of cisplatin-induced Wistar rats. The total flavonoid content in ASEE is 8.755 g QE/100 g extract and the total chalcone content is 5.532 g IBCE/100 g extract. Conclusion: The sap of Angelica keiskei (Miq). Koidz. reveal the potential to protect the kidneys against cisplatin-induced toxicity. The nephroprotective activity may be attributed to the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of the flavonoids and the chalcones contained in the sap of Angelica keiskei (Miq). Schools worldwide are encouraged to implement literacy programs to foster lifelong literacy in students, aligning with the "Merdeka Belajar" (Free Learning) program promoted by the government. Despite various limitations, schools strive to achieve literacy goals by fostering students' character. This research aims to investigate: 1) the implementation of an English literacy program based on storytelling for character building, and 2) the efforts made by teachers to develop students' character through storytelling-based English literacy. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach, employing observation, interviews, and documentation for data collection and analysis. The subjects included two model teachers and students from classes X-1 and X-3 at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Makassar during the first semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Prior to the research, discussions with teachers covered learning methods, activity schedules, and agreed topics. The findings revealed that the implementation began with prayer, followed by reviewing narrative text material, conducting Q&A sessions, assigning tasks, and performing storytelling. These activities fostered discipline, hard work, responsibility, and creativity among students, who achieved a very good category percentage of 87.68%. This indicated high enthusiasm and motivation at every program stage. The program's relevance is further supported by the importance of literacy as emphasized in Q.S. al-Alaq verses 1-5. Additionally, teachers made significant efforts to develop students' character through disciplined storytelling, hard work, responsibility, and creativity. Students were encouraged not only to memorize story texts but also to paraphrase creatively, retell stories, and create video storytelling projects. This study highlights the importance of integrating character education into the curriculum through innovative methods like storytelling. The results provide a model for other educational institutions and underscore the need for a holistic approach to education that encompasses both cognitive and moral development.

Abstract: Access arrangement is one of the agrarian reform programs that continues from asset arrangement. Access arrangements aim to provide assistance in capital provision, training, and marketing strategies to communities facing obstacles in their companies. In 2022, Kampung Tua Tanjung Riau served as the location for access arrangements; data collection yielded various types of Micro-Medium Small Businesses (MSMEs), also known as agrarian reform access objects. This study aims to find out how agrarian reform access is put into action in Kampung Tua Tanjung Riau. It will do this by using a qualitative approach and collecting data from the ground about the types of businesses that agrarian reform access participants run, the status of their businesses, the status of their certificates (mortgaged or not mortgaged), and how successful their businesses are by looking at how they've grown since being given more power and by mortgaging their land ownership certificates for extra business capital. There was an increase in the number of participants who pledged certification from 40 in 2022 to 53 in 2023. However, some of the participating businesses have not experienced significant development. The constraints in the implementation of the agrarian reform access arrangement in Kampung Tua Tanjung Riau are the lack of community understanding of the program, where not all participants are registered for empowerment training, and the abundance of similar businesses that are not balanced with existing market demands, resulting in competition among MSME players. The genotype evaluation process requires analysis of GxE interactions to ascertain the responsiveness of a genotype to various environments, including the development of early maturing rice. However, the concept of interaction is relatively specific to grain yield. In contrast, grain yield is highly polygenic, so assessment should be carried out with multivariate approaches. Therefore, multivariate assessment in evaluating GxE interactions should be developed, especially for early maturing rice genotypes. The study aimed to develop a comprehensive multivariate approach to improve the comprehensiveness and responsiveness of GxE interaction analysis. The study was conducted in Bone and Soppeng districts, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, in two seasons. The study used a randomized complete block design, where replications were nested across two seasons and locations. Two check varieties and five early maturing varieties were replicated three times in each environment. Based on this study, a new approach to GxE interaction analysis based on multiple regression index analysis, BLUP analysis, factor analysis, and path analysis was considered adequate, especially for evaluating early maturing rice. This approach combined days to harvest, biological yield, and grain yield in multiple linear regression with weighting based on the combination of all analyses. The effectiveness of the GxE interaction assessment was reflected by high coefficient of determination (R2) and gradient (b) values above 0.8 and 0.9, respectively. Inpari 13 (R2 = 0.9; b=1.05), Cakrabuana (R2 = 0.98; b=0.99), and Padjajaran (R2 = 0.95; b=1.07) also have good grain yield with days to harvesting consideration, namely 7.83 ton ha-1, 98.12 days; 7.37 ton ha-1, 95.52 days; and 7.29 ton ha-1, 97.23 days, respectively. Therefore, this index approach can be recommended in GxE interaction analysis to evaluate early maturing rice genotypes. Furthermore, Inpari 13, Cakrabuana, and Padjajaran are recommended as adaptive early maturing varieties.

The concept of learning styles proposing the alignment of teaching methods and individual learning styles to enhance learning outcomes has gained popularity among English language teachers. However, numerous studies have debunked the concept by exposing weaknesses in the instruments used to measure learning styles and the underlying hypothesis. Therefore, there is a need for more research focusing on the merits and demerits of implementing learning styles theory in EFL classroom instruction. This study is presented to provide empirical understanding into the issue by presenting the latest research findings and providing recommendations for EFL teachers. To achieve this aim, the researchers conduct a literature review by collecting data from various document references and theories supporting the research. The literature was collected from journal articles published in the last five years, from 2018 to 2023. Based on the review, some studies confirmed that tailoring teaching methods to individual learning styles contributed to improved learning outcomes for EFL students. Conversely, other research has shown no significant or consistent correlation between teaching-specific learning styles and students' achievement. To address this disparity, the present study suggested that foreign language teachers maximize teaching-learning by considering several factors rather than one, such as teaching strategy, students' interpersonal orientations, knowledge, students' background, and interests. Teachers can balance instructional approaches, methods, and activities and apply various teaching strategies to reach all learners.

This study explores the correlation between overprotective parenting and adolescent adjustment in an Indonesian educational context, focusing specifically on SMA Negeri 1 Ambon. Utilizing a quantitative research design with correlation analysis, the study examines how adolescents aged 10-18 navigate changes during the transition from childhood, especially in terms of their adaptability and independence. The influence of familial, school, and societal environments on these developments is assessed through purposive sampling of 110 students, using scales that measure overprotective behaviors and personal adjustment. Findings from the study reveal a statistically significant but weak negative correlation between overprotective parenting and adolescent adjustment, indicating that while parental involvement is crucial, excessive control can undermine adolescents' ability to adapt to their environments effectively. This study underscores the complex dynamics between parental behavior and adolescent development, suggesting that balanced parenting is key to fostering responsible and adaptable youths.

Although the advantages of digitalization are frequently mentioned, there is still a persistent gender disparity in labor participation, especially in developing nations. This study examines the extent to which digitalization guarantees gender equality. Specifically, it aims to analyze the impact of internet usage on women’s involvement in Indonesia’s workforce. This study additionally examines the impacts in various parts of the country. Through the use of panel Tobit regression, utilizing district-level data obtained from SUSENAS-KOR, SAKERNAS, and INDO-DAPOER for the years 2017-2019, we have discovered a noteworthy and positive correlation between the utilization of the internet and the participation of women in the labor force. The observed effect remains strong even after accounting for additional factors. The heterogeneity analysis indicates that the correlation between internet usage and female labor force participation is more pronounced in the Java region than in areas outside Java. However, obstacles still prohibit women from accessing the advantages of digitalization. Hence, the proposed policy entails prioritizing equitable internet access and diminishing the obstacles to women’s participation in the labor market to attain gender equality.

The psychological attributes associated with both psychological potential and managerial competence are regarded as valuable assets for any company. Consequently, it is in the best interest of companies to actively search for the most potential candidates and develop their competencies. Organizations expend substantial resources to assess the potential of prospective employees during the recruitment process. This research aims to evaluate the extent to which employees' potential can predict their competencies. We assessed candidates' potential using self-report scales measuring grit and a growth mindset, while competencies in achieving results and managing change were evaluated through the assessment center method. The data was collected from 155 civil servants employed by the Makassar City Government. The findings reveal that potential does not significantly influence employees' competencies, whether it be Grit for results orientation or Growth mindset for change management competence. After conducting correlation tests between grit and growth mindset to social desirability bias, we found varied results with Grit (r= 0.1718, p = 0.03248) and growth mindset (r=0.0703, p-value = 0.3847), suggesting diverse correlations between the investigated variables. In light of these results, we recommend a reevaluation of the practice of relying on potential as a predictor of competence.

This qualitative study examines the historical context and implications of women’s empowerment in rural Gorontalo, Indonesia, focusing on the Quran Completion tradition. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with elderly women, religious figures, and traditional practitioners of the Quran Completion tradition. The findings indicated that despite Indonesia’s independence, women in rural areas faced significant limitations during the study period. Adolescent girls were confined to household activities and were prohibited from pursuing formal education outside their homes. Interestingly, this tradition predates the official discourse on women’s empowerment, initiated by the Indonesian government in 1972. It served as a symbol for parents to showcase their success in educating their daughters and gradually encouraged women to assume public roles, demonstrating their Quranic recitation skills, and boosting their confidence to participate in public spheres. Psychologically, the Quran Completion tradition played a pivotal role in enhancing women’s self-assurance and fostering their active engagement with society. While this empowerment pattern was widespread among Gorontalo women in the past, the present-day practice of the Quran Completion tradition has undergone significant changes. It is now primarily observed during wedding ceremonies by a limited number of individuals dedicated to preserving Gorontalo’s culture.

Alpinia monopleura is one of the endemic plants of Sulawesi, and it has an extensive distribution in the region. Research on chemical compounds and biological activities of A. monopleura is essential to continue as an effort to support the utilization of native plants for medicine. The extract was obtained using the maceration method. The chemical compounds in the extract were identified using Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS). Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) and molecular docking methods were used to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity. Ten compounds contained in the extract were successfully identified, E-para-coumaric acid (1), trans-ferulaldehyde (2), 3,5,6-trihydroxy-4',7-dimethoxyflavone (3), nevadensin (4), malvalic acid (5), ent-16α,17-hydroxy-19-kauranoic acid (6), 3′,5-dihydroxy-7,4'-dimethoxy flavone (7), saurufuran B (8), 5-hydroxy-7,8,2'-trimethoxyflavanone (9) and dehydroabietic acid (10). The anti-inflammatory activity of extracts from rhizomes and stems of A. monopleura were 8.62 and 10.59 mg/L, respectively. Some flavonoids (9 and 7) can bind strongly to specific residues around the COX-2 active site, such as Ser530, thereby interfering with the function of the COX-2 enzyme and reducing the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins. Thus, A. monopleura extract has the potential to inhibit inflammatory responses through molecular regulation of the COX-2 enzyme.

This article discusses vernacularization in Malay-Language Tafsir by examining Tafsir Nur al-Ihsan by Syaikh Muhammad Sa'id al-Qadhi al-Kedahi as an analytical study. This oldest tafsir was written in 1344H/1926M during the reign of the 21st Sultan of Kedah by a Qadhi in Kedah Malaysia, as well as the first Malaysian mufassir who interpreted the Qur'an in Javanese with Arabic alphabet letters. This research focuses on three main problems: how vernacularization is applied in the book of Tafsir Nur al-Ihsan in the linguistic, writing, and interpretation aspects. Through the theory of vernacularization, this research explains the implementation of vernacularization related to the phenomenon and the facts of the text that developed in the book of Tafsir Nur al-Ihsan. By using a qualitative approach through the literature study method, the results of this study show that; First, vernacularization in the linguistic aspect through the use of local languages commonly used by the local community in the use of the word "sembahyang" and the designation "lembu" for naming surah al-Baqarah. Second is vernacularization in Malay writing using the Arabic-Jawi script (pegon). Third, vernacularization is found in the interpretation of QS. al-Maidah verse 38 and QS. Al-Baqarah verse 17, which dominantly reflects aspects of locality such as the expression, morality, and character of the Malaysian Muslim community, as well as the lives and habits of Malaysian Muslims, especially in the Kedah area.

Natas is a public space in Manggarai with various forms. The shape and orientation of natas are influenced by parrots. This is based on the shape, orientation, location of the compang and the presence of mbaru. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with the steps: identifying the typology of shape and orientation of natas through field observations and interviews as well as indirect observation via Google Maps and Google Earth, analyzing the relationship between natas, compang and mbaru, creating patterns and formulating shapes and orientations based on natas typology. The results of this research reveal the diversity of natas shapes with a dominance of circular shapes and a tendency to follow parrots spatially. Natas is a place of social activities and traditional ceremonies that represent the unity of the Manggarai community.

Background/Aim: The high divorce rate in Indonesia has an impact on the number of divorced women. In Indonesia, women with divorced status are still stigmatised, whereas the stigma and perception of divorced women in the community are still skewed. The formation of a negative stigma from the community makes women who experience divorce face many problems that can increase stress and make women psychologically disturbed. To overcome the conflict experienced, individuals have a coping mechanism as a way to defend themselves against changes that occur both within themselves and from outside themselves. The purpose of this study was to explore the sources of stress and coping mechanisms for stress in divorced women in Cirebon Regency, West Java, Indonesia. Methods: This research was qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The research participants amounted to 8 women with a divorce status of less than 2 months who experienced mild and moderate stress in dealing with the new status of divorce in Cirebon Regency. The selection of research participants used a convenience sampling technique. Data collection methods using in-depth interview techniques and administering questionnaires perceived stress scale (PSS) to determine a person's level of psychological stress. Data analysis in this study used the Colaizzi method. This study identified two themes, namely the sources of stress of divorced women and coping mechanisms for stress built in divorced women. Results: Sources of stress included social status, negative stigma from society, the process of raising children without a husband, economic factors , fear of facing life in the future and relationships with ex-husbands and their families. These various stresses did not prevent divorced women from continuing their life process. This was because of the coping mechanisms made by divorced women so that the stress they experience did not harm their lives. These coping mechanisms included self-management, enjoying the process, diverting problems, telling other people about problems , strengthening spirituality and self-reflection. Conclusion: Divorced women struggle with numerous stressors. It is necessary to strengthen positive coping mechanisms and to overcome stigmas and prejudices in society towards divorced women.

The majority of learning and teaching activities during the COVID-19 era were distributed to remote learners. The ineffectiveness of face-to-face instruction was subsequently put aside as students felt comfortable learning online. Policymakers in the education system had to adjust to a new normal or habit once the COVID-19 cases started to decline. The aim of this research is to identify the challenges faced by final year students in completing thesis during the Post-Covid-19 New Normal Habitus period and to find out how final year students can complete their thesis guidance during the Post-Covid-19 New Normal Habitus period. There were 15 English students joining the interview and the research was conducted within the State Islamic campus in Jambi City. Coding system was implemented to get credible data. The result shows that Completing studies in the New Normal Era has several obstacles. One of the most significant problems is the communication problem between students and supervisors which involves internal and external factors. Internal factors focus on difficulties caused by students' lack of understanding of thesis components, references and citation styles. Meanwhile, external factors focus on students' difficulties in the thesis writing process which depends on the direction of the supervisor, where some lecturers still provide online thesis guidance, where students agree that online counseling is not effective.
