Following the industrial revolution, factors such as accelerated industrial processes, increased population, urbanization, and deforestation contributed to a variety of environmental issues, particularly global warming. This study proposes a new Data Envelopment Analysis model to assess the environmental activities of developed and developing countries that have signed the Kyoto Protocol. Using the proposed model, Decision Making Units (DMUs) with similar performance were clustered by creating efficient boundaries, and the efficiency improvement of the effective DMUs in each cluster on each other, as well as the efficiency improvement on the ineffective DMUs in the entire data set, were examined. The final efficiency score of the proposed model is calculated by adding the initial efficiency score, which expresses the initial position of the DMUs, and the efficiency improvement over all DMUs. Finally, the full ranking is obtained by sorting the clusters from smallest to largest, as well as the final efficiency scores of the DMUs within each cluster, from largest to smallest. During the study's implementation phase, the environmental effectiveness of 38 countries that signed the Kyoto Protocol and whose data can be accessed based on determined input/output was assessed using the proposed model. The undesirable input/output problem encountered in environmental effectiveness evaluation was addressed by determining a monotonically decreasing function. The ranking obtained with the proposed model was compared to three different models found in the literature. The proposed model defined seven clusters, and Sweden, Switzerland, Iceland and Norway were in the 1st cluster as the DMUs with the highest efficiency scores. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Gıda endüstrisi uluslararası alanda ve ülkelerin ekonomilerinde önde gelen imalat endüstrilerinden biridir. İnsanların yaşamlarını sürdürmeleri için temel ihtiyaçlarını kapsayan bir endüstri olması da bu önemliliği daha da artırmaktadır. Bu kapsamda, Türk imalat endüstrisinin gıda, içecek ve tütün sektöründe yer alıp borsada işlem gören 23 işletmenin etkinlikleri iki aşamalı ağ veri zarflama analizi (Network DEA) yöntemiyle incelenmiştir. Çalışma, işletmelerin finansal verileri referans alınarak 2017/12-2023/06 dönemlerini kapsamaktadır. İki aşamalı etkinlik analizinin birinci aşamasında bilançoya dayalı mali etkinlik ve ikinci aşamasında da piyasa etkinliği hesaplanmıştır. Bilançoya dayalı mali etkinlik sonuçları değerlendirildiğinde etkinlik ortalamaları en yüksek çıkan işletmeler sırasıyla ULUUN, BANVT ve DARDL’dir. İkinci aşamada incelenen piyasa etkinlik skorları genel olarak bilançoya dayalı mali etkinlik skorları ile karşılaştırıldığında oldukça düşük oluşmuştur. Piyasa etkinliği analizindeki etkinliği en yüksek işletmeler KENT, ERSU ve PINSU’dur. Çalışmanın ikinci analiz kısmında, elde edilen üretim ve piyasa etkinliklerinin Üretici Fiyat Endeksi (ÜFE) ile uzun dönemli ilişkisinin tespiti için, Johansen eş bütünleşme testi ve Granger nedensellik testi uygulanmıştır. Bunun sonucunda, etkinlik skorları ile ÜFE arasında uzun dönemli bir eş bütünleşme ilişkisinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Nedensellik testi, ÜFE ve piyasa etkinliği arasında, bilançoya dayalı mali etkinlik ile piyasa etkinliği arasında nedensellik olduğunu ortaya koymuştur.

Objective: This research aims to measure the efficiency of health services by using health indicators of OECD countries, to determine inefficiencies of countries that are not at the efficient border, to calculate idle use, and to determine super-efficiency values of countries at active borders.Methods: In the research, DEA was conducted using an input-oriented CCR model to measure the performance of the OECD countries in 2019, the last year before the pandemic. In the research, three input and two output variables were used. R Studio package programs were used for the analysis of research data.Results: It is seen that the productivity average of 15 countries is 0.81. 5 out of 16 countries have been identified as active. Finally, it has been determined that Hungary, with a super-efficiency value of 17.18, can still be on an efficient border even if it increases its input amounts 16 times.Conclusion: A notable observation is that some OECD countries with developed economies allocate substantial resources to long-term care services, and their capacities are at sufficiently high levels. It is recommended that low-productivity countries should reduce the idle use of input resources to increase their productivity.

From past to present, health services have been one of the most strategic areas, especially in terms of public investments, due to their impact on human life and requiring large financial investments. Due to this importance of health services, states allocate significant resources to health services. Especially after the Covid19 pandemic, people's need for healthcare services has increased even more and accordingly, there has been a significant increase in healthcare expenditures. These factors have made it more necessary for healthcare institutions to use their capacities at an optimal level and analyze their performance. Accordingly, the concepts of efficiency and effectiveness have become more important in evaluating the performance of hospitals. One of the methods widely used in the literature to analyze relative efficiency in the healthcare sector is Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The results of this analysis show the efficiency of the units subjected to analysis in converting inputs into outputs compared to other units included in the analysis. In this context, the study analyzed the effectiveness of clinics in a public hospital in Turkey using DEA. As a result of this analysis, effective and ineffective units were determined. It was determined that 35.71% of the 14 clinics in the hospital subject to the research were effective and 64.29% were not effective clinics. In addition, as a result of the research, clinics that ineffective clinics can take as reference to become effective were also determined. Mega events, providing prestige and economic contributions to host cities and countries, are of great importance in terms of internationalization. In addition to their extra advantages, these events must be organized efficiently for sustainable development. To the best of our knowledge, although some studies investigate the efficiency of countries participating in mega-events, no study concentrates on the efficiency of mega-events as an organization. Accordingly, this study examines the financial efficiency of each sub-event of three mega-events: the Summer Olympic Games, the Winter Olympic Games, and the FIFA Men's World Cup. In this context, the bootstrap DEA method was utilized. The findings revealed that almost all mega events were organized inefficiently. It is thought that addressing the efficiency levels of mega-events at the organizational scope might yield a new perspective for mega-event authorities and lead to new literature. COVID-19 has affected the health systems of countries. The purpose of this study is to assess hospital resource and bed utilization efficiency during the COVID-19 pandemic in member states of the European Union. The Pabon Lasso model was utilized to assess the efficiency of hospital bed utilization in this particular context. Data Envelopment Analysis was utilized to assess the efficacy of hospitals' resource utilization with respect to the selected input and output variables. The outcomes of Data Envelopment Analysis and Pabon Lasso were contrased. Among the Pabon Lasso parameters, Sweden was determined to have the highest values in the bed turnover rate parameter, Portugal in the average length of stay parameter, and Ireland in the bed occupancy rate parameter. Among the output variables, the highest discharge rate in 2020 and 2021 was observed in hospitals in Bulgaria. The ratio of physicians, as a health manpower, and considered the most important input variable, had the lowest value in hospitals in Cyprus in both years. According to Data Envelopment Analysis, hospitals in Cyprus, Latvia, Sweden, and the Netherlands were found to be efficient in both 2020 and 2021, respectively. According to Data Envelopment Analysis in 2020, %25 of hospitals were efficient, and when it comes to Pabon Lasso model, %70 were efficient. In 2021, %20 of hospitals were evaluated as efficient according to Data Evelopment Analysis, and %75 were evaluated as efficient according to the Pabon Lasso model. Bu çalışma ile bankacılık sektöründeki payı ve etkinliği her geçen gün artan katılım bankalarının etkinlik performanslarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda üçü özel sermayeli, üçü de kamu sermayeli olan altı katılım bankasının etkinlik skorları 2019-2022 dönemi için hesaplanmıştır. Araştırma için seçilen üç girdi (toplam fonlar, personel gideri, faiz giderleri) ve iki çıktının (kullanılan fonlar, faiz geliri) etkinlik ölçümü Veri Zarflama Analizi (VZA) kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Ölçeğe göre sabit getiri (CRR) varsayımı altında çıktı odaklı VZA yaklaşımının dikkate alındığı araştırmanın bulguları, araştırmaya tabi tutulan bütün bankaların 2019-2022 dönemi ortalama etkinlik değerlerinin %90’nın üzerinde olduğunu göstermektedir. Analiz sonuçları altı katılım bankasının 2019-2022 dönemindeki etkinlik skorlarının yıllar itibariyle; 2019 yılında dört, 2020 yılında altı, 2021 yılında üç, 2022 yılında ise beş katılım bankasının etkin olduğu şeklindedir. Genel bir ifade ile söz konusu katılım bankalarının tamamının dört dönemde içerisine en az iki dönem etkin olduğunu göstermektedir.

Purpose: The purpose of the current study is to investigate the efficiency of ten European countries and Türkiye according to their GNP ratios in railway transportation. The study also aims to identify significant productivity differences between countries and determine which countries are most affected by the 2020 COVID-19 outbreak in terms of rail transport. Methodology: Since it is performance research, secondary data was used. Data from the years 2011 to 2020 were utilized for the study. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA)-Malmquist Index method was employed to reveal the efficiency changes over the years. The analysis of the data was conducted using the DEA-based Windows Analysis Program (DEAP). Findings: According to the total factor productivity change rates in the Malmquist Index; while there is a 1% increase in productivity in Lithuania, 0.3% in Romania and 0.2% in the UK, a slight decrease is observed in the productivity of other countries. The decreases in the productivity of the countries are mostly experienced during the COVID-19 epidemic period in 2011-2020. Originality: In the current literature, studies on railway performance have been made using historical data from four countries in the European Union. However, in recent years, there is a lack of productivity studies focusing on input and output variables according to the GNP ratio of European countries. Therefore, it is thought that this study will make an important contribution to the existing literature.

Amaç: KOSGEB (Küçük ve Orta Ölçekli İşletmeleri Geliştirme ve Destekleme İdaresi Başkanlığı) müdürlüklerinin yapısal analizini yapan ve ekonomik yapılarını ortaya koyan bu çalışmanın temel amacı KOSGEB’in müdürlüklerinin toplam faktör verimliliklerinin zaman içindeki gelişimini ortaya koymak ve kamu kaynaklarının etkin kullanımı açısından toplam faktör verimliliğini artırabilecek strateji ve politikaları önermektir. Yöntem: Farrell’in 1957’deki ‘Üretken Verimliliğin Ölçümü’ çalışması üzerine geliştirilen veri zarflama analizi yöntemiyle müdürlüklerin teknik etkinlik skorları hesaplanmıştır. Kurumun toplam faktör verimliliği 2018-2020 yılları için Malmquist endeksi yöntemiyle ortaya koyulmuştur ve bu endeksin bileşenleri analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular: 2018-2020 yıllarında KOSGEB’in Türkiye genelinde elde ettiği aynı çıktıların %29 tasarrufla elde edilebileceği anlaşılmıştır. İncelenen dönem için olumsuz olan toplam faktör verimliliğindeki değişimin kaynağının teknolojideki değişim olduğu ortaya koyulmuştur. Özgünlük: Verimliliklerini artırabilecek strateji ve politikaları belirlemiş olan kurumlar ülke ekonomisine olumlu katkı yapacaklardır. Literatürde kurumların verimliliği üzerine olan çalışmalar, genelde yerel düzeyde ya da bölgesel düzeyde yapılmıştır. Bu çalışma Türkiye’de ulusal düzeyde kurumlar için yapılan literatürde rastlanan birkaç çalışmadan biridir.

With the epidemics in recent years (such as Covid-19), the importance of efficiency in the health sector has been understood once again. The fact that human needs are unlimited but resources are scarce has created the understanding that resources should be used at the most optimal level in the domain of health, as in every domain. Data Envelopment Analysis, which provides the opportunity to evaluate the efficiency by making it possible to compare the performance of enterprises in the same sector, is widely used in many research areas. In this study, it is purposed to assess the service efficiency in the health sector of the Statistical Regional Units Classification-1 (NUTS-1) regions in Turkey. As a result of the literature review, 3 input and 3 output variables were selected and health data in 12 regions were subjected to Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Input-output variables ascertained for DEA methods in the study were acquired from the Ministry of Health Statistical Yearbook 2020 reports. The data were conveyed to the "R" program and analyzed according to both inputoriented as well as output-oriented CCR and BCC models. Considering the control power of the input-oriented BCC Model, this model was preferred, and potential improvement rates were calculated by creating reference sets for ineffective DMUs. According to the BCC model based on the health indicators of the provinces, it was deduced that solely 3 regions out of 12 were inefficient, and all other regions were effective in terms of health indicators. Potential recovery rates for inactive areas are presented. In order to increase the quality of the health services provided, it is critical to evaluate the current situation of the regions. This study makes an important contribution to the literature in terms of analyzing the productivity of the regions using up-to-date data and presenting suggestions for inactive regions. Rekabetin her geçen gün daha yoğun yaşandığı günümüz kapitalizminde, performans ile onun unsurları olan etkinlik ve verimlilik artan önemini korumaktadır. Üretim sisteminde yüksek bir performans gerçekleştirmek için tüm süreçte optimal kaynak kullanımının sağlanması, maliyetlerin düşürülmesi gerekmektedir. Malzeme arzı, malzeme tedariki ve lojistik süreci boyunca tüm aşama optimum uyum içinde gerçekleştirilmelidir. Dolayısıyla performans artışında, lojistik sektörlerinin etkinliğinin ve verimliliğinin sağlanması önem kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Avrupa Geçiş Ekonomisi Ülkeleri içinde geçişi tamamlamış olan 11 ülkenin etkinlik ve verimlilik analizi, Lojistik Performans Endeksi alt boyutlarına ait veriler kullanılarak Girdi Odaklı Ölçeğe Göre Sabit Getiri (CCR) ve Girdi Odaklı Ölçeğe Göre Değişken Getiri (BCC) Modellerine göre yapılmıştır. Lojistik Performans Endeksinin altı alt boyutundan üçü (gümrük, altyapı ve lojistik kalite) girdi olarak kullanılırken, diğer üçü ise (uluslararası gönderiler, izleme-takip ve zamanında teslimat) çıktı olarak ele alınmıştır. Veri Zarflama Analizi ile yapılan çalışmada “EMS Paket Programı” kullanılarak etkinlik değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. Analiz bulgularından elde edilen sonuçlara göre etkin ve verimli olan ülkeler bulunmuştur. Aynı zamanda etkinsiz ve verimsiz olan ülkeler de bulunarak, etkin olmayan ülkelerin ideal etkinlik düzeyine çıkabilmesi için girdi değişkenlerin iyileştirme oranları hesaplanmıştır.

The volatility of the economic market in recent times, when competition conditions have become increasingly difficult, shows that it is important to cooperate with the correct suppliers. For this reason, the correct evaluation of supplier activities and the analysis of their performance are the basic steps for successful decisions. In this study, the performance of milk packaging material suppliers is evaluated objective methods by using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Malmquist Total Factor Productivity Index (MTFPI) methods of a company operating in the food industry. A three-stage model is proposed in the study. In the first stage, linear programming-based DEA model was utilized to measure the relative performance of decision-making units when there are multiple inputs and outputs. In the second stage, comparisons were made by ranking the suppliers with the AHP method. In the third stage, MTFPI was employed for the 2018-2021 period in order to see the efficiency changes of the related suppliers over time. The data of twenty suppliers belonging to the company were evaluated with four different models which were assessed with the Charnes, Cooper and Rhodes (CCR), Banker, Charnes and Cooper (BCC) and Super Efficiency approaches. With the study, it is aimed to evaluate the efficiency performances of participation banks, whose share and efficiency in the banking sector are increasing day by day. For this purpose, the efficiency scores of six acquisition economies, three with private capital and three with public capital, are calculated for 2019-2022 period. Efficiency measurements of three inputs (total funds, personal expense, interest expenses) and two outputs (funds used, interest income) selected for the research are made using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The body, in which the output-oriented DEA approach is handled under the estimation of constant returns to scale (CRR), shows that the average productivity values of the banks as a whole for the period of 2019-2022 are above 90%. The results of the analysis show that the efficiency scores of six participation banks in the period of 2019-2022 are as follows; four participation banks are active in 2019, six in 2020, three in 2021, and five in 2022. The private pension system (PPS) is a growing source of funds for an individual's retirement. Thus, the efficiency of PPS concerns not only the companies in the sector, but also the countries at the macroeconomic level. The objective of the research is determining the efficiency of PPS in Turkey. Using monthly data for 2013-2019, the extent to which state contribution affected PPS efficiency is investigated by Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Efficiency estimates are calculated first without and then with the government contribution. The results show that the state contribution increased the efficiency of the PPS system. Turkiye's textile and ready-to-wear industries play a significant role in both domestic and international trade in goods. The Mediterranean, Eastern, Southeastern, and Central Anatolian regions contribute significantly to the nation's manufacturing of textiles and ready-to wear clothing. Numerous companies and organizations involved in this industry as well as those in other fields suffered damage from the massive earthquake that struck on February 6, 2023, and struck 17 provinces. Determining the sector's pre-earthquake state is crucial, though, because the region is significant in the sectoral context. The study's objective is to assess the operations of ready-to-wear and textile businesses in the earthquake zone. For this purpose, data envelopment analysis (DEA) and Malmquist total factor productivity index (TFP) are used. 27 textile and ready-to-wear businesses that are based in the area and rank in the top 500 and secondlargest 500 according to the Istanbul Chamber of Industry were included in the analysis. In the study, three inputs (owner's equity, total assets, and number of employees) and two outputs (net sales and export amount) were used to examine the data of the 27 organizations under investigation for the years 2020 and 2021. Six of the 27 companies in the CCR (Charnes-Cooper-Rhodes) input-oriented DEA examination were effective in 2020, while the remaining 19 were deemed insufficient. As of 2021, four of them were found to be effective and twenty-three to be insufficient. The Malmquist index was then used to analyze the efficiency changes of the questioned companies in 2020 and 2021. Because the efficiency changes of 18 out of 27 enterprises were greater than 1, the results were deemed sufficient. Ultimately, the analysis established the region's sectoral significance for 2020 and 2021 and offered a number of policy suggestions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: Monitoring and comparing regional service performance is inevitable to use resources effectively and allocate resources without creating interregional inequalities. With the Health Transformation Program, there has been an increase in the amount and quality of the service provided throughout the country. In addition, there has been a decrease in the inequalities between regions due to its implementation. In order to ensure continuity in health service delivery, health service activities in provinces and regions should be followed regularly, and their performance should be evaluated. Methods: The study calculated Data Envelopment Analysis efficiencies and Cross-efficiency for 26 subregions in the NUTS-II classification in Turkey. The number of hospital beds and primary care units were the inputs of the research; the number of primary, secondary and tertiary care visits and the number of inpatients are also the output of the study. Subregions are reordered and grouped according to their cross-efficiency. Decisionmaking units with unusual production structures were investigated by calculating Maverick Index scores. Results: Regarding DEA efficiency, the average efficiency score of the ten subregions classified as efficient is 0.97 (sd. 0.0395). The average crossefficiency score obtained from the benevolent method is 0.89 (sd. 0.058), while the average score achieved through the aggressive method is 0.86 (sd. 0.574). Maverick index scores had a balanced distribution. The average maverick index score for aggressive and benevolent are 0.13 (std. 0.0474), and 0.0871 (std. 0.0420), respectively. Although only the Malatya subregion was classified as efficient in the traditional DEA method, it had low scores in the cross-efficiency evaluation and was classified as a maverick decision unit with an MI score of 0.21. Conclusion: The cross-efficiency method yields more valuable results because it employs more realistic weights for peer evaluation. These outcomes are simpler for decision-makers to comprehend and assess. The regions of Kocaeli, Adana, Aydın, Hatay, Şanlıurfa, and Tekirdağ exhibit notable performance in the cross-efficiency examination, as they have attained the most significant efficiency scores. The regions of Kastamonu, Erzurum, Van, and Ağrı exhibit poor levels of efficiency, thereby requiring the implementation of precautionary measures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bu çalışmada BIST’te otomotiv ve otomotiv yan sanayi sektörlerinde işlem gören firmaların göreceli performansı veri zarflama analizi (VZA) ile araştırılmıştır. Otomotiv sektöründe 8, yan sanayi sektöründe ise 11 firma verileri incelenmiştir. Analizin girdileri personel sayısı, aktif ve öz kaynak toplamı iken; çıktıları net satış ve net kardır. Analiz kapsamında CCR ve BCC modelleri çözümlenerek 2022 yılı itibariyle görece etkin firmalar belirlenmiş ve etkin olmayan firmalar için referans firmalar tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma yaptıkları faaliyetler açısından birbirlerinin tamamlayıcı olan otomotiv ve yan sanayi sektörlerinin etkinliklerini ayrı ayrı ele almakta ve dönem itibariyle diğer çalışmalardan ayrışmaktadır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, otomotiv sektöründeki firmalar için girdiye ve çıktıya yönelik yapılan analizlerde CCR modeline göre 3, BCC modeline göre 6 firmanın etkinliği saptanmıştır. Ayrıca etkinliği tespit edilemeyen 5 firmanın da ölçek etkinlik durumunun artan olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Otomotiv yan sanayinde faaliyet gösteren firmalar açısından girdiye yönelik analizlerde BCC modeline göre 8, çıktıya yönelik analizlerde 9 firmanın etkinliği tespit edilmiştir. CCR modeli kapsamında ise girdi ve çıktıya yönelik analizlerde benzer bulgular elde edilmiş ve 8 firmanın etkinliği saptanmıştır. Amaç: Bu çalışmada yoğun bakımların etkinliklerini değerlendirmek, etkin olmayan yoğun bakım ünitelerinin etkin olabilmesi için referans alabileceği yoğun bakım ünitelerini belirlemek ve yoğun bakım üniteleri arasında etkinlik düzeyleri bakımından farklılıkları tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır.Yöntem: Çalışmada, Gazi Üniversitesi Sağlık Araştırma ve Uygulama Merkezinde bulunan 12 yoğun bakım ünitelerin 2018 yılına ait yıllık istatistiki verileri kullanılmıştır. Yoğun bakım ünitelerinin etkinlikleri Veri Zarflama Analizi (VZA) yöntemi ile değerlendirilmiştir. VZA analizinde girdi yönelimli BCC (Banker, Charnes ve Cooper) Modeli, CCR (Charnes, Cooper ve Rhodes) Modeli ve Süper Etkinlik modelinden yararlanılmıştır.Bulgular: CCR ve BCC VZA modeli sonuçlarının her ikisinde; anestezi ve reanimasyon, çocuk, iç hastalıkları ve yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesi etkin bulunmamıştır. Etkin olan yoğun bakım üniteleri arasında CCR modeli sonucuna göre süper etkin olan göğüs cerrahisi yoğun bakım ünitesi iken, BCC modeline göre ise kalp ve damar cerrahisi yoğun bakım ünitesidir. Ayrıca çalışma sonucunda yoğun bakım ünitelerinin etkinlik düzeyleri arasında farklılıkların olduğu tespit edilmiştir.Özgünlük: Hem son dönemde yaşanan COVİD-19 pandemisi hem de sağlık harcamaları içerisinde önemli bir paya sahip olan yoğun bakım ünitelerin etkinliklerinin değerlendirilerek kaynakların etkin kullanılması önemlidir.

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, OECD ülkelerinin 2019 yılı tarımsal etkinliğini ölçmek ve kurgulanan senaryolar üzerinden parçalı elastiklik analizleri gerçekleştirerek ülkelerin kısmi ölçeğe göre getiri karakterizasyonlarını ortaya koymaktır.Yöntem: Etkinlik ve elastiklik ölçümleri için Veri Zarflama Analizi (VZA) ve VZA tabanlı yöntemler kullanılmıştır.Bulgular: OECD ülkelerinin %43’ünün etkin bir şekilde faaliyet gösterdiği tespit edilmiş ve ortalama tarımsal etkinliğin 0,87 olduğu saptanmıştır. Elastiklik analizi bulgularına göre seçmeli radyal etkinlik varsayımını sağlayan OECD ülkelerinin büyük bir bölümü için kısa vadede tarımsal büyümenin gerçekleşmesinin beklenmediği, üretim faktörlerinde yaşanabilecek marjinal artışlar karşısında tarımsal çıktıların çoğunlukla azalan veya sabit oranda artış eğiliminde olduğu belirlenmiştir.Özgünlük: Çalışma, ülke bazında parçalı elastiklik ölçüm modellerinin ilk uygulaması olması ve OECD ülkelerinin tarımsal performanslarına dair bütünleyici bir perspektif sunması açısından önemlidir.

Retail industry is amongst the emerging industries globally, and has attracted increasing attention from practitioners and academicians. The retail environment is changing rapidly and characterized by huge competition from both domestic and foreign companies. Most of the companies produce identical goods and try to sell them at competitive prices. In this regard, finding new customers and make them a loyal one is one of the most difficult things for the retail sector. It costs five times more than keeping the old one (Idris et al., 2012). That is why, the concept of customer retention led to the emergence of a new term in the academic literature that is “Churn Management”. The aim of this study is to analyse the low and high efficient stores of Retailer X that are located in different parts of İzmir by conducting data envelopment analysis, and then examine the reasons of the churn customers in these stores both from customers and store managers perspective. Data was collected from Retailer X to conduct data envelopment analysis to find out low and high efficient stores. In the next stage, semi-structured interviews were conducted with both store managers and customers to be able to compare the perceptions of both sides. As a result of these interviews, the reasons of churn customers are classified into 7 groups that are product and stock level, price, promotions, physical atmosphere, interaction of sales personnel, after sales services and competitors.

Amaç: Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de faaliyet gösteren ikinci basamak kamu hastanelerinin teknik etkinliği ortaya konmuştur.Yöntem: Çalışmada Veri Zarflama Analizi (VZA) kullanılmıştır. VZA’dan sonra kurulan Tobit regresyon modeli ile hastanelerin bulunduğu ilin büyükşehir olma durumu, yatak sayısının 200 ve üzerinde olma durumu, yatak devir hızı, yatak doluluk oranı, uzman hekim başına düşen yatak sayısı ve yardımcı sağlık personeli sayısı değişkenlerinin VZA skorlarına etkisi incelenmiştir.Bulgular: Tobit regresyon sonuçlarına göre, hastanelerin bulunduğu ilin büyükşehir olma durumu ve yatak devir hızı teknik etkinliğe istatistiksel olarak anlamlı şekilde olumlu etki ederken, yardımcı sağlık personeli sayısı teknik etkinliğe istatistiksel olarak anlamlı şekilde olumsuz etki etmektedir (p0,05).Özgünlük: Bu çalışma ile ilk defa Türkiye’de faaliyet gösteren ikinci basamak kamu hastanelerinin teknik etkinlik düzeyleri ve buna etki eden faktörler VZA-Tobit Yaklaşımı ile ele alınmıştır.

In connection with industrialization, technological developments and population growth, the need for energy is increasing and supplying the energy needed for the welfare of countries and societies is of great importance. Increasing energy need requires emphasis on energy resources all over the world, providing the highest level of benefit from these resources, and establishing efficiency and effectiveness in terms of the use and production of resources. In this study, it is aimed to determine the efficiency and the efficiency change in Turkish coal mining and to determine the appropriate arrangements to be made in line with the analysis result. Periodic efficiency analysis has been carried out regarding the Turkish Coal Enterprises Institution and the Turkish Hard Coal Enterprise Institution, which are producing lignite and hard coal in Türkiye, and the issues that need to be done at the point of ensuring efficiency have been tried to be determined. In the study, in which the period 2001-2020 was chosen as the review period, the activities related to lignite and hard coal mining were determined by the data envelopment analysis method. According to the results of the analysis, there is a variable activity in lignite and hard coal mining by periods. According to the results of the data envelopment analysis, it is observed that there is a need for regulations regarding maximizing salable production and net sales according to the current investment expenditure and operating expense in coal enterprises in the years when efficiency is not in question. Amaç: Bu çalışmada özelleştirme programına alınan Türkiye elektrik dağıtım şirketleri performansının etkinlik ve verimlilik açısından incelenmesi hedeflenmektedir. Yöntem: Veri zarflama analizi ve Malmquist Toplam Faktör Verimliliği İndeksi kullanılarak etkinlik ve verimlilik analizi yapılmıştır. Etkinlik ölçümünde, ölçeğe göre sabit getiriyi dikkate alan girdi odaklı CCR modeli ve ölçeğe göre değişen getiriyi dikkate alan girdi odaklı BCC modelleri denenmiştir. Malmquist Toplam Faktör Verimliliği İndeksi ile ilgili dönemde toplam faktör verimliliklerindeki değişme ve bu değişimin kaynakları açıklanmıştır. Bulgular: Verimlilik 2013 yılında en düşük, 2016 yılında ise en yüksek seviyeyedir. En büyük toplam faktör verimliliği artışı 2013-2014, düşüşü ise 2014-2015 döneminde gerçekleşmiştir. Sektörün bir bütün olarak toplam faktör verimliliği artışı yıllık ortalama %10,5’tir. Çalışma sonuçları, karar birimlerinin etkinsiz çalıştığını ve dağıtım şirketlerinin hizmet verdikleri bölgelerdeki refah düzeyi farklılıklarının etkinlik üzerinde belirgin bir etkisi bulunmadığını göstermektedir. Özgünlük: Çalışmada elektrik dağıtım şirketlerininn hem etkinlik hem de verimlikleri 2012-2018 dönemi için incelemiştir. Enerji sektörünün önemi sebebiyle bu konu araştırılmaya değer görülmüştür. Çalışma bu nedenlerle özgün nitelik taşımaktadır.

Amaç: Bu çalışmada, İBBS 3 sınıflaması itibarıyla illerin 2015-2019 yıllarına ait beş yıllık panel verisi kullanılarak Türkiye coğrafi bölgelerinin tarımsal etkinlikleri tahmin edilmiş ve karşılaştırılmıştır. Yöntem: Bölgesel teknik etkinlikler ve metafrontier teknik etkinlikler veri zarflama analizi (VZA) ile hesaplanmış, buradan hareketle metateknoloji oranları belirlenmiştir. Bulgular: Girdi odaklı ölçeğe göre değişen getiri varsayımı altında veri zarflama metafrontier yaklaşımı ile belirlenen etkinliklerin bölgesel olarak farklılaştığı belirlenmiştir. En yüksek teknik etkinlik %91,6 ile Akdeniz Bölgesi’nde, en düşük ise %73,0 ile Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nde belirlenmiştir. Metateknoloji oranı açısından değerlendirildiğinde Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi en yüksek orana (%77,9) sahip olmuştur. Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’ni %73,3 ile Karadeniz, %72,9 ile Güneydoğu Anadolu, %64,0 ile Akdeniz, %51,5 ile Ege Bölgeleri takip etmiştir. En düşük metateknoloji oranı %46,7 ile İç Anadolu Bölgesi’nde tespit edilmiştir. Özgünlük: Bu çalışmanın literatüre iki açıdan önemli katkı yapacağı düşünülmektedir. Birincisi coğrafi bölgeler düzeyinde tarımsal üretim değerinin değerlendirildiği ilk çalışma olması, ikincisi ise tarımsal teknolojik farklılığı dikkate alan ve daha pratik yorumlanmasını sağlayan metafrontier yöntemini kullanıyor olmasıdır.

This paper analyzes the efficiency and efficiency changes of 57 Turkish natural gas distribution firms in the period 2016-2021 with input-oriented Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Malmquist Total Factor Efficiency (TFP) Index, respectively. The efficiencies of the distribution firms are analyzed using both the aggregated data of all years and the six‐year multiperiod analysis. According to the results of the aggregated model, the technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency, and scale efficiency of the firms on average are 77.4%, 81.2%, and 95.4%, respectively. 32 (14) scale-inefficient firms have increasing (decreasing) returns to scale. Only three of the 10 firms that are technically efficient in the aggregated model are found to be fully efficient in all periods. Natural gas distribution firms are classified as small firms and large firms according to their gas delivery amounts, and the scale efficiency of these firms and the changes in the number of large and small firms with increasing or decreasing returns to scale are examined on a yearly basis. Over the period 2016-2021, total factor productivity decreased by an average 1.8% annually, as a result of an annual average decrease of 1% in technical efficiency and an annual average decrease of 0.8% in technological change. The reduction in technical efficiency is due to 0.6% decrease in pure technical efficiency and 0.4% decrease in scale efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
