Cherry laurel (Prunus laurocerasus L.) mostly used in horticulture for planting as living hedge, was propagated vegetative by cuttings. The aim of this research was to clear the influence of cutting severance date on rooting ratio and effects of biostimulants using in further cultivation of rooted cuttings. Measured parameters were: the number of rooted cuttings, the number of cuttings with callus formation and the number of not successfully survived cherry laurel cuttings. The results indicated significant influence of severance date of successful rooting of cuttings. Rooting rate ranged between 94-98% for cuttings taken in middle till end of October and 40-79% for cuttings taken in November. A significant effect of Bio-algeen S-90 used foliar in concentration of 0.2% was detected on plant height after 14 days cultivation. After six week cultivation, a significant effect in the watering treatment in 1.0% concentration of Bio-algeen S-90 on the plant height was detected. Although, we found no significant difference in leaf number between control, foliar treatment 0.2% and watering with 1.0% Bio-algeen S-90 after 14 days cultivation but, a significant effect of leaf number in watering treatment, six weeks after application period was confirmed.

Geraniums are a very popular summer flowers for decorating windows and balconies of private and business houses, motels and hotels. On the market of summer flowers geranium takes favourite place which leads to development and cultivation of large number of geranium varieties. Most of geranium seedlings are produced vegetative with cuttings using phytohormones and special rooting substrates. Recently, for rooting of cuttings is increasingly used inert substrates like perlite, vermiculite or rock wool. The aim of investigation was to examine a rooting percentage of cuttings and growth of geranium seedlings 'Narina' and ‘Beach’ using two substrates: standard organic substrate for rooting and rock wool during four different periods of taking cuttings. Best rooting in this investigation shows variety 'Beach' with better results on rock wool. Preferred period for taking cutting and rooting of geranium was the beginning of February.

New types of polyurethane coated on textiles allow versatile use of final products. Polyurethane coating in the form of paste or thermal joining with the woven fabric, knitted fabric or nonwovens allows creating multilayered materials or composites with exceptionally good properties adapted to their application. This paper describes physical mechanical properties of multilayered materials composed of a base textile component and coated polyurethane. In the laminating process the portion of the components and the conditions during coating was varied. According to the results obtained multilayered materials differ in all tested properties. Regression straight lines and correlation relationships between individual physical mechanical properties of multilayered materials are shown. It can be claimed that several properties of the produced multilayered materials are mutually dependent with a relatively high correlation.

The basic properties of the high-frequency welding of garment pieces are presented. The impact of artificial leather properties on the quality and strength of high-frequency welding was explored. The weld quality and strength of different artificial leather samples were optimised by regulating the temperature, power and duration of welding. Based on the results obtained, it may be claimed that parameter changes in the welding process, as well as changes in the technological process of manufacturing artificial leather, in the raw material composition, coating component portions and colour of the polyurethane coat (PU) directly affect the quality, strength and water impermeability of the seam.

The aim of the paper is to introduce characteristics and problems of mobility of workers and students within the EU and to explore the attitudes of young people in Croatia on the readiness of their mobility. The research was conducted on a sample of a student population and the methodology of descriptive statistics, contingency tables, χ2 and the Single Factor Analysis of Variance – ANOVA table were used. The results showed insufficient knowledge and relatively little interest in participating in international student exchange programs. The results also pointed out the problems of students' mobility. A systematic and proactive approach by all responsible stakeholders is therefore necessary to raise students’ awareness and the awareness of other target groups and to point out the advantages and opportunities that mobility brings.

Artificial polymer materials addressed in this paper consist of substrate and coating. The substrate is based on a synthetic knitted fabric, and the coating is based on polyurethane with several different components. The materials tested are intended for causal and protective clothing. Physical-mechanical properties of materials with different compositions and portions of the coating as well as different conditions during coating were investigated. The results obtained indicate that agents and portions of the coating as well as changes in the conditions of the manufacturing process of artificial leather affect its final properties and application.

Umjetni polimerni materijal poprima sve veći značaj u izradi odjevnih predmeta za specifičnu namjenu. Sastoji se od podloge i nanosa. Kao nanos se najčešće upotrebljava poliuretanski polimer, a kao podloga za prevlačenje upotrebljava se netkani i tkani tekstil te pletiva. Za spajanje šavova odjevnih predmeta od umjetnih polimernih materijala upotrebljavaju se i nove tehnike konfekcioniranja u koju se ubraja i varenje, koje zahtijeva primjenu različitih stručnih znanja i strojeva. Varenje predstavlja spajanje dviju površina zagrijavanjem bez pomoći ljepila ili drugih pomoćnih sredstava. U radu je opisana PU umjetna koža, kao i tehnološki proces izrade umjetne kože. Detaljno je opisan način njenog konfekcioniranja na stroju za visokofrekventno spajanje dijelova odjeće. U eksperimentalnom dijelu izrađeni su uzorci umjetne kože pod internim nazivom Azra sa promjenama u sastavu nanosa i uvjetima u procesu prevlačenja. Svrha je ovog rada bila istražiti utjecaj aditiva Vithane S20 na kvalitetu spojenog mjesta nastalog tehnikom visokofrekventnog spajanja. Osim toga, istraživao se utjecaj krutosti materijala na efikasnost spojenog mjesta. Uzorci su spajani tehnikom visokofrekventnog spajanja odjeće na stroju tvrtke Radyne pomoću elektrode duljine 15 cm i debljine 4 mm, presvučene teflonskim platnom. Varijacijom parametara na stroju za visokofrekventno spajanje dijelova odjeće istražen je njihov utjecaj i korelacija sa vodopropusnošću i čvrstoćom spojenog mjesta. Ispitane su tehničke karakteristike podloge korištene u procesu izrade umjetne kože, uzorci umjetne kože kao i šavovi dobiveni tehnikom visokofrekventnog spajanja. Tehničke karakteristike podloge dobivene laboratorijskim ispitivanjem uspoređene su s karakteristikama dobivenim od proizvođača. Tehničke karakteristike umjetne kože i karakteristike šava uspoređivane su s tehničkim karakteristikama proizvoda. Također je uspoređen uzorak izrađen za ovaj rad sa uzorkom uzetim iz proizvodnje. Prema dobivenim rezultatima definiran je optimalni proces izrade umjetne kože, dan je prijedlog kontrole po fazama izrade umjetne kože i definirani su optimalni uvjeti visokofrekventnog spajanja dijelova odjeće.
