Detaljno se predstavlja urbanistički i arhitektonski razvoj istočnoga gradskog središta, čiju okosnicu čini potez triju trgova: Trga hrvatskih velikana, Trga žrtava fašizma i Krešimirova trga.

The project „ Clinic for Women's Diseases and Childbirth “ is planned to reconstruct the existing building and build a new„ Clinic for Women's Diseases and Childbirth“ intended for the diagnosis, treatment, and reception of perinatological and gynecological patients and arrange the necessary infrastructure to bring the building and surrounding plots into operation. The urban design of the clinic is a circle of buildings of the Virovitica General Hospital, which includes five existing buildings and the upper ground floor of the unified polyclinics with two new administration and gynecology buildings. The urban design is in the form of a circle of the hospital complex with the surrounding road and tangential additional facilities of the hospital on its perimeter. The conceptual solution in question refers to a high ground floor building with associated slats, functionally connected to each other but structurally separated by expansion.

Ovladavanje urbanim razvojem postavlja zahtjeve u okviru integriranog i održivog postupka koji neophodno vodi do boljeg karakteriziranja procjene okoliša.

Diplomski rad pod nazivom Urbana topografija i transformacije antičke Siscije kroz nekoliko elemenata nastoji prikazati sličnosti i razlike između antičkog grada i današnjeg modernog grada Sisak. This thesis, entitled as Urban topography and transformations of ancient Siscia, tries to show the similarities and differences between the ancient city and today's modern city of Sisak through several elements. The ancient-modern comparison in the paper is based on historical events, the history of urban planning of this city, topography and several selected locations. During the creation of this work and through the study of literature, a conclusion was reached about a greater similarity between the ancient city and the city from the turn of the eighteenth to the nineteenth century. The Roman Siscia era, as well as the later commercial and industrial city of Sisak, share a common ambition for growth, development and achievement of a high place on the scale of promising environments for work and life. These were periods in which individuals knew how to use natural resources with which they were surrounded. Admittedly, in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the development of the city and society took place at the expense of the ancient heritage, which was forgotten and placed in the foundations of the modern city.

Sve te promjene vidljive su kroz analizu kartografskih prikaza i fotografija kroz stoljeća., In this paper, we discuss the city of Venice, its origin, its geographical position, founding, and the unique ways it grew and organised itself in order to function the best it could. The contents are presented chronologically, following the city's development from its very beginnings all the way until today. Venice is special as topography has greatly influenced the city's structure, with water being a core factor. In addition, human activity and culture also had a great effect on its urbanistic development, which led to a series of impressive architectural feats throughout the millennia that completely changed the look of the city. These changes are most visible on buildings, canals, walkways, bridges, and the environment. All said changes are presented through the analysis of cartographic representations and photographs throughout the centuries.

The dissertation titled “Architect Rudolf Tӧnnies – his life and works“, covers, like the title itself suggest, important facts that influenced his future period of affirmation, establishment and development as architect and artist-cum-designer, such as the facts relating to his family circumstances and predispositions for his future work, but focusing primarily on his creative period in BiH. As the activities of Architect Rudolf Tӧnnies in Croatia were brief and negligible, in Slovenia they were related to the activities the Company Obnova, gradbena družbaz.o.z. Ljubljana, and in Vienna limited only to 11 standardized designs for officers' pavilions, these have only been partially analysed, leaving an opportunity for a future researcher to explore his works outside the borders of BiH. Considering that Sarajevo or BiH is where the Architect made his most significant contribution to the architectural heritage of the Austro-Hungarian period, this paper analyses, describes, valorises and compares all of his finished and unfinished designs, independent and those done in cooperation with the leading architects of the Monarchy. The facts presented here are documented and corroborated by evidence, such as preserved design documents and relevant written materials (data from his personal files, published and unpublished records and exceptionally locally found reference materials). In terms of referencing, three sources were used – information from personal file of Rudolf Tӧnnies, the design documents and written materials from the Archive of BiH (documents relating to the Construction Department of the Royal National Government for BiH, more specifically, the Building Construction Department). In terms of scope, the paper mostly focuses on the projects implemented in Sarajevo as well as those in other towns in BiH, this is followed by his collaborations, then his unimplemented projects and finally other works (such as: scale models, sketches for interior design, awards and recognitions received, etc.)

26. Ancient monuments as the origin of urban transformation of Pula between the two world wars

Il nuovo tipo di architettura, usando il periodo dell’antichità romana come punto di partenza, offrì alla telecamera la scenografia desiderata., The article addresses the relationship the modernist process of urban development had with the monument heritage from the Antiquity between the two world wars taking as the example the city of Pula. At that time, Pula was part of the Kingdom of Italy, whose policy was primarily marked by fascism. Considering the specific ideological value that the narrative of the ancient Rome had for the fascist movement, the article intends to locate key moments when this narrative had made the connection to the concrete monuments such as the Arch of the Sergii, the Temple of Augustus and the amphitheatre (Arena) with the urban transformation of the city that was happening then. Using the methods of art historical analysis, the author describes the interventions on these monuments in the context of the wider social, political and cultural climate, as well as the theoretical frameworks that guided the interventions themselves. The article is structured in five chapters, the first three of which observe the interventions on important Roman monuments in the city, while the fourth deals with the theoretical framework that influenced the interventions themselves, primarily through the notions of Italian architect Gustavo Giovannoni. The last chapter offers a synthesis of this eclectic process of modernization of the city through a description of the urban planning of Luigi Lenzi, which summarized the previous partial implementation in the urban fabric. The article further results in more detailed explanations of the relationships that existed between different disciplines, such as architecture, archaeology, conservation and urbanism, without whose cooperation such process could not have been implemented. The main goal of the process designed in this way was to create an architectural scenography for the political parades, events and marches of the modernist mass society. The film camera, that new eye, conditioned the scenography itself on a formal level – it had to be dichromatic, give rhythm to the sequences, steer the eye of the observer. The new architecture, using antiquity as its foundation, gave the camera the desired scenography.

Roka, možda svjedočanstvo o prvoj, tj. najranijoj inicijativi za podizanje crkve posvećene tom svecu, zaštitniku od kuge unutar grada., The article deals with an unsigned and undated perspective drawing containing the outline design of the church of St Roch in Dubrovnik. Even though the idea was not realized, this drawing, recently discovered in the State Archives in Dubrovnik, is indeed the only surviving piece of evidence of its kind from the period of the Dubrovnik Republic. The church proposed by the drawing was planned at the far end of the square (today Poljana Paska Miličevića), in the immediate vicinity of the west city entrance (Pile Gate). It appears as a simple, rectangular-plan structure with two doors on visible façades. The main (north) portal features a rose window, while the gabled front of the church is surmounted by its most conspicuous architectural feature–the massive gabled bell-cot with three arched openings. Although the design of the present church of St Roch (that would eventually be built between 1542 and 1555 on another location) differs considerably from the outlined building, it is important to stress the documentary value of visual data regarding the elevations of surrounding structures. As a matter of fact, the drawing in question is a unique testimony of the previous appearance of an otherwise unknown urban environment that has since been profoundly altered, mostly due to the damages caused by the Great Earthquake of 1667. Thus, the drawing reveals that the church of St Roch was actually intended to be built in an open area above the south part of a vast public cistern constructed under the square. The buildings surrounding the square, albeit schematically rendered, may be clearly discerned–a row of medieval houses to the left, a late-thirteenthcentury church with the monastery of the Order of St Clare to the right, as well as, behind the apse of the proposed church, a compact masonry wall, i.e. the rear façade of a house on the farthest side of the square. In considering the dating of the drawing, it should be noted that during the Black Death of 1526, the Senate of the Dubrovnik Republic (Consilium Rogatorum) had made a solemn commitment to build a church dedicated to St Roch. Over the next few years the vow was renewed several times, but the whole project came to be hindered by the lack of an appropriate location. Ideally, the church dedicated to a holy protector against the plague was usually positioned near the city gate. In February 1532, the Senate elected three officials in charge of construction and at the same time assigned the Rector and his Minor Council the task of finding the most adequate site. In May of the following year, the Senate voted against the proposition by which the church of St Roch was to be built “above the cistern beside the monastery of St Clare”. It is therefore most probable that the drawing under consideration was drafted between February 1532 and May 1533, in order to serve as a sort of visual aid in the decisionmaking process, i.e. as a visual simulation of one of the proposed solutions. In that respect, the depicted church should be regarded as a representation of a generic building rather than an actual architectural design.

Autor donosi svoje viđenje kako je izgledao grčki grad Faros u IV. st. pr. Krista, oslanjajući se na dosadašnje arheološke nalaze u staroj jezgri grada Starog Grada i literaturu., The author summarizes archaeological findings in the old town center of Stari Grad, which have been published in papers by Jasna Jeličić Radonić, Branko Kirigin and Vinko Tarbušković and Work report of Muzej Staroga Grada (Stari Grad Museum) in 2013. According to findings published so far it can be assumed where the streets, which were in equal distances in directions north - south and east - west, were located. In that way the size of residential block, whose layout was in the shape of square with side size of 1/8 of stade, was determined. According to the finding of a recessed entrance at the east rampart next to the Church of St John, it was concluded that the distance between the first street and the rampart had to be 12 m so that a recessed entrance could be built and that residential blocks were not built next to a rampart but there was a narrow street between. The town was orthogonal, the same as Greek town Olynthus to which an equilateral triangle is written. Pharos had a floor plan dimension of 235 x 207 m, as shown in Map 7. There are three entrances from the east, two from the west, an honorary one from the north and maybe another one from the south. Archaeological findings in the sea revealed that the dock for galleys was located to the west from the town, where the sea was deeper, while the shipyard was located to the north, at the opposite side from the bay. Hora plain lies to the east from the town, and it is regularly intersected by paths in intervals of three stadia to the north - south direction and five stadia to the east - west direction. The cemetery was to the west from the town and several Greek graves have been discovered there. The sea level was lower for 120 cm at the time of building Pharos in the 4th century BC, so the town wasn’t built on the peninsula because the areas of Tvrdalj square, Ploca, part of Šiberija and today’s park and square with Fish market were land. There are some discovered findings of building walls and a street to the south of the town. That confirms that the town had a suburb outside the town walls in the only area where the town could expand since there is the plain to the east and the cemetery to the west.

The text opens up questions of different views and reflections on the inherited values of the city of Split, completely inconsistent between cultural and tourist activities. In the phrase cultural tourism, heritage is a necessary fulcrum of a tourist destination, but cultural outlines of the city are far wider in scope than those from the tourist offer.

Diplomski rad obrađuje do sada neistraženi opus hrvatskog arhitekta Vojtjeha Delfina (1921.

Članak analizira sadržaj Regulacionoga plana i direktivne regulacione osnove Zagreba iz 1949., kontekst poslijeratnoga vremena u kojemu se promijenio društveni i ideološki okvir, a unutar kojega je nastajala nova poslijeratna urbanistička praksa., The Urban Regulatory Plan and Directive Regulatory Basis of Zagreb (DRB) of 1949 was the city’s first urban development proposition after World War II. The chief authors of the document were Vlado Antolić and his colleagues at the Urban Planning Institute of Croatia. The document was the conceptual and practical continuation of the pre-war Zagreb City Master Plan. These plans are linked through the key person of Vlado Antolić and his colleagues, Josip Seissel and Stjepan Hribar. The Zagreb City Master Plan of 1932/1940 and the DRB of 1939 are a rare example of continuity in urban planning that happened despite the great social and political changes that had taken place in the meantime. The greatest contributions of the architect Antolić in the first phase of the DRB projection from 1947 to 1949 were the preservation of the continuity and the application of the basic urban planning ideas upon which the Master Plan of 1932/1940 had been built and his persistent professional struggle against the ad hoc urban planning advocated by politicians and the local administration. Despite political resistance, Antolić managed to apply modern urban planning theories such as zoning by usage because he succeeded in defining and placing industry in two existing, expanded industrial zones. Antolić was highly knowledgeable in the modern urban planning theories of high modernism, but also pragmatic and a realist. He studied the existing longitudinal expansion of the city, which is a consequence of the topography, extant traffic routes, and hydrography. In the urban planning solutions proposed in the DRB of 1949, he preferred cautious and realistic direction over heedless and unrealistic competition. The second phase of the DRB, from 1949 to 1953, is the best example of the complexity of the conditions in which Zagreb urban planners patiently introduced the basic ideas of high modernism.

The topic of this paper is archaeological excavations conducted in the Eastern part of ancient Salona during the 21st century. In this paper special attention was paid to the revisionary archaeological excavations that were carried out in the area of the so-called Oratorium A. For many years it was believed that Oratorium A was the earliest Christian cult object in Salona, however, new excavations have rejected that theory. In Bilankuša, a protective archaeological excavation was carried on in 2001 during which the altar of Titus Flavius Lucilius was found. Protective archaeological excavations from 2001 and 2002 revealed the eastern city gate, the Porta Andetria. Furthermore, the paper focuses on a series of protective archaeological excavations that resulted in the assumption of the existence of the temple of Jupiter in the Eastern part of the city. The paper presents the excavation of the Eastern ramparts, the protective archaeological excavation in Zvonimirova ulica in 2007, the excavations of the Salona water system, the protective archaeological excavation of plot no. 5073/1, the excavation that was carried out in the area of the Episcopal complex north of the so-called Via principalis and excavations in Ulica Stjepana Radića from 2016 and 2017.

The continuity of life in Zadar was not interrupted after antiquity, but, adapting to new conditions, continued directly in the Middle Ages. Medieval Zadar occupied the same area as the ancient one, and the Antique network of streets was preserved and it determined the character of the city in the new period. Many ancient buildings remained in use, but that does not mean that there were no changes in the urban plan of the city. In the first place, Zadar got new walls that covered a larger area than the ancient ones. Segments of this rampart were discovered on the southeast and southwest sides of the city. The city insulas lengthened with the disappearance of every other cross street. The municipal center had moved closer to the land gate, while the cult remains on the forum thus giving the city a bicentric structure. The biggest difference is manifested in the increase in the number of sacral buildings.

- Abstract
This work contains the results of research which has been ongoing in the south-east section of Issa (intra muros) in recent years. The remains of two streets with a north-south orientation (stenopos), and three insulae have been found thus far in the course of this research. The first remains of houses were found in the insulae, of which not one has been thoroughly examined, so this work is based primarily on the researched sections of the street and the organization of space inside the city. In addition to a brief overview of the course of research, which has contributed to a better understanding of urbanism in Issa, the text contains a discussion of the stair-like streets and the gutters in them, while previously unknown data on the streets of Issa found in the western section of the city during research from the late 1950s are also published. This is followed by discussion of the size of the insulae and observations on house I in insula I (I, 1) are provided in preliminary form. A new view of the Issa urban layout is also presented, together with comparisons with similar urban planning solutions in southern Italy, Epirus, northwestern Greece and southern France. This article examines the urban features of the 20th century liturgical buildings in Zagreb on the basis of the previously established research criteria. This research is the result of field work, the analysis of the existing liturgical buildings in terms of their condition and their position on the Croatian base map. The research results show that the 20th century liturgical buildings in Zagreb ceased to play a role in the formation of the urban fabric as they did in the previous historical periods. In front of them public spaces of predominantly private character have been formed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Navedeno, kao i daljnje odluke ondašnjeg Gradskog građevnog ureda o daljnjem postupanju s područjem Kaptola, pokrenulo je raspravu o načinu regulacije Kaptola, vođenu sve do današnjih dana, u kojoj su bili uključeni različiti stručnjaci, uključujući Stjepana Korenića, Ivana Zemljaka, Gjuru Szabu, Branka Šenou, Roberta Frangeša Mihanovića, Roberta Jeana Ivanovića, Petra Knolla, Zdenka Strižića, Edu Schöna, Milovana Kovačevića, Aleksandra Freudenreicha, Marka Vidakovića, Brunu Bauera i Dragu Iblera. Kaptol is part of the historic core of Zagreb, where major construction began in 1094, when a diocese was established in its area. After the unification of Kaptol and Gradec in 1850, the first urban interventions began to be carried out in Kaptol, which led to a decrease in its values. Kaptol's poor condition prompted the decision for it to have a separate regulation process as part of the International Competition for General Regulation Plan of Zagreb, which was held between 15. August 1930 and 31. March 1931. Architects who applied for the Competition offered more or less radical solutions, treating the existing historical environment with varying degrees of respect. However, the jury did not award the first prize to any of the submitted projects, considering that none of the competitors offered a completely achievable solution. This, as well as further decisions of the City Construction Office about further actions around Kaptol, began discussion on the regulation of Kaptol, which continue to this very day, which included various experts such as: Stjepan Korenić, Ivan Zemljak, Gjuro Szabo, Branko Šenoa, Robert Frangeš Mihanović, Robert Jean Ivanović, Petar Knoll, Zdenko Strižić, Edo Schön, Milovan Kovačević, Aleksandar Freudenreich, Marko Vidaković, Bruno Bauer and Drago Ibler.

Međunarodne povelje o gradu usmjerene su k poboljšanju uvjeta života u gradovima, a posebice - stvaranju povoljnoga društvenog i kulturnog ozračja u gradovima, sudjelovanju javnosti u planiranju razvoja, poboljšanju kvalitete gradskog okoliša, uvjeta življenja i osobito uvjeta stanovanja. Urbanizam ima vodeću ulogu u istraživanju promjena strukture grada, funkcionalnih i oblikovnih osobitosti njegova razvoja. Zato treba usmjeriti istraživanja na probleme održivoga razvoja gradova, ostvarivanje ljudskih prava, uspostavu kontinuiranoga procesa planiranja, jednostavniju provedbu urbanističkih planova s detaljno istraženim i utvrđenim gospodarskim učincima.

This paper deals with the development of the historical core of the city of Pula after the Second World War and goes into more detail on the issue of free open spaces and interpolations. The first part of the paper provides an overview of the historical spatial development of the city of Pula, from the period of antiquity to the end of the Italian administration in 1943. Allied bombing that took place in 1944 and 1945 significantly changed the structure of the historic center of Pula. The most vital parts of the city and numerous cultural assets were destroyed during the bombing. Once the war finished, the further development of the historic core was determined by political and cultural problems that prevented the rapid urban renewal. The renewal went extremely slow and due to numerous wrong resolutions the historical center was further damaged. The paper explains events that took place during the Yugoslavian administration in which many buildings were demolished and removed from the historic center and its waterfront. That areas were then turned into parks which permanently disrupted the integrity of the historic center. In the mid-1950s, along the Riva and the peripheral part of the historic core, began the construction of interpolations. Interpolations filled the gaps in the urban fabric created by the bombing. The paper analyzes several interpolations that were constructed during the fifty year period. They were selected with the aim of showing the continuity of the development of historic center after the war destructions.

- Abstract
The present paper aims to gather all the available archaeological data produced during numerous campaigns of excavations conducted between 1972 and 1983, mostly through test trenching, but sometimes also by larger research excavations. The results of these archaeological works have rarely been published, and the majority of them have remained unknown to the larger public. This first complete publication on the known urban structure of Flavium Fulfinum, the second roman municipium on the island of Krk (Croatia), is enriched by the results of the new archaeological excavations conducted on the Forum since 2006. Special attention is given to questions relating to the datation of the city's creation, its development, and finally its fate through Late Antiquity up to the time of its final abandonment. The study of the structures in the Forum should offer new insights concerning this urban public space, but should also enrich our knowledge of its evolution between Antiquity and Late Antiquity, both of which are extremely poorly documented for the area of northern Liburnia (Dalmatia). Using the literature, floor plan as an important architectural element was explored. In order to gradually introduce the concept of floor plan and understand its function in various industries, it is necessary to know the basics of architecture. Architecture is a scientific, technical and artistic field that deals with the construction of houses, buildings, skyscrapers and any other object that is meant to satisfy one’s need to belong to a space and be comfortable in it. In the theoretical part of this thesis, some of the numerous definitions of architecture are presented, in addition to its elements, in other words, the construction created by combining different types of materials, and the relationship between form and function. Likewise, architecture and floor plan are very important for urbanism and horticulture. Urbanism is the art of planning and building cities, and a review of history shows that there are organically and geometrically created cities, but also combinations of these two types. Since people have always had the need to spend their time in nature and for it to be aesthetically pleasing, garden art developed greatly and many types of parks appeared, of which the basic types, English and French park, are highlighted in the thesis. The very beginnings of creating floor plan, its development alongside the development of architecture and society, the meaning, purpose and basic types of floor plan, movement in such buildings and interpreting the elements of those floor plans on examples have also been explored. This master’s thesis includes a practical part as well, an individual art research. It consists of three creative, largely self-conducted art activities and artworks concerning floor plan. The researched art activities are designed to be studied with third and fourth grade students, given that in these grades, according to the new curriculum of the subject of Art, floor plan as a teaching content is intended for processing. In the curricula for Nature and Society and Mathematics are also teaching contents which can be creatively correlated.
