Summary A patient died from symptoms of flaccid paralysis of extremities without showing any classical symptoms of rabies. The autopsy was perfomed, and the distribution of lesions and pathological changes in the central nervous system was similar to poliomyelitis. However, by isolating a virus and its identification, the patient was diagnosed as paralytic rabies.
