Synthetic sunscreen offers protection against excessive exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun, and protects the skin from possible damage. However, they have low efficacy against the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are highly reactive molecules that can be generated in the skin when it is exposed to UV radiation, and are known to play a role in oxidative stress, which can contribute to skin aging and damage. Thus, there is an ongoing search for sunscreens that do not have these negative effects. One promising source for these is natural products. Therefore, the current patent review summarizes topical formulations made from natural compounds that have antioxidant properties and can be used as photoprotective or anti-aging agents, either using a single natural extract or a combination of extracts. The review reports basic patent information (applicant country, type of applicant, and year of filing) and gives details about the invention, including its chemical composition, and the in vitro and in vivo tests performed. These patents describe natural products that can be used to protect the skin and validate their efficacy, and safety, in addition to standardizing their formulations. The compositions described illustrate the consistent innovation in the use of natural products to protect against UV damage and photoaging disorders, a promising field which is receiving growing global recognition. 4. Toward Sourdough Microbiome Data: A Review of Science and Patents.

Technological prospecting was performed on documents related to sourdough microbiota using SCOPUS, Web of Science, Google Scholar, Espacenet and Patent Inspiration databases. Scientific articles and patents were analyzed based on three different perspectives: macro (year of publication, country, and institutions), meso (categorization as different taxonomies according to the subject evaluated), and micro (in-depth analysis of the main taxonomies, gathering the documents in subcategories). The main subject addressed in patents was the starter and product preparation, while 58.8% of the scientific publications focused on sourdough starter microbiota (identification and selection of microorganisms). Most patents were granted to companies (45.9%), followed by independent inventors (26.4%) and universities (21.8%). Sourdough products are in the spotlight when the subject is the bakery market; however, a closer integration between academia and industry is needed. Such a collaboration could generate a positive impact on the sourdough market in terms of innovation, providing a bread with a better nutritional and sensory quality for all consumers. Moreover, sourdough creates a new magnitude of flavor and texture in gastronomy, providing new functional products or increasing the quality of traditional ones. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

6. Microbial lactones: A systematic bibliometric review of γ-lactone production by biotechnological processes and technological prospection with focus on γ-dodecalactone.

The global lactone market, although it has expanded over the years, has still been little explored. The objective of this review was to provide a percentage quantification of γ-lactone production from papers published in Web of Science™ (WoS). To this end, a systematic search was carried out to identify the main raw materials and microorganisms for biotransformation of hydrophobic material and the main γ-lactones produced in the process along with the main gaps exists. The results obtained in this review suggest that on an average the number of publications is around three papers per year, relatively low compared to those in other areas. Castor oil and its derivatives represent 80% of the raw materials used for biotransformation into γ-lactones, due to the high concentration of ricinoleic acid. Yarrowia lipolytica represents around 55.26% of the total application in the papers evaluated. The γ-decalactone, with nuances of peach aroma, is the γ-lactone most reported in this review, representing around 84.21% of the total papers published in WoS. Liquid-liquid extraction has been a favorite of researchers, and diethyl ether is the organic solvent most used in the recovery of lactones, representing 44.73% of the papers evaluated. This review demonstrates the need to explore new oilseed sources such as fruit seed oil considered as waste, but also the need to produce other lactones such as γ-dodecalactone due to the biotransformation of oleic acid, fatty acid present in most vegetable oils, and its production process under optimized conditions. Abstract Moringa oleifera is an arboreal plant belonging to the family Moringaceae distributed in tropical areas and has gained enormous attention in the last decades. This research is a review on the association between aqueous extracts of M. oleifera leaves and diabetes mellitus and understanding its pharmacological functions and underlying mechanisms. The research refinement demonstrated the pharmaceutical potential of M. oleifera and its phytochemicals, given its antidiabetic effect. The prospective analysis showed the amount of application within IPC A61K in health area. The secondary metabolites present in M. oleifera, glucosinolates, flavonoids, and phenolic compounds may be responsible, in part, for the disease control hypoglycemic actions. Glucosinolates, when metabolized by salivary enzymes, give rise to sulforaphanes that act in preventing type 2 diabetes and in reducing insulin resistance. Flavonoids interact with intestinal enzymes by modifying carbohydrate metabolism by regulating glycemic levels, in addition to increasing insulin sensitivity. Phenolic compounds increase the expression of glucose transporters (GLUT4) and reduce the synthesis of fatty acids and cholesterol, contributing to the reduction of glucose resistance and blood sugar control. Moringa oleifera can be used as complementary therapy of the type-2 diabetes.

This paper aims to analyze the information about protection of technologies related to distributed generation (DG) of electric energy, available in the Brazilian patent bank, in the period between 2011 and 2020. Considering that the energy sector has strategic role for companies and countries, analyzing technological trends in the area can help management and decision making. As a methodological procedure, (1) data were collected from the national database of the Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial - INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property) -- in July 2020, (2) associated with keywords and the Classificação Internacional de Patentes - IPC (International Patent Classification) for research and (3) treated with the aid of Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS Statistics version 25 software. The variables found and analyzed were: nature of the patent; order status; international classification; year of filing; publication of request; countries of origin of depositors; main depositors; state of origin of depositors; electrical system structure; and types of energy sources. The results demonstrated that the number of patent filings fluctuated over the years; that there was a significant growth in the number of deposits in the years that normative resolution n° 482/2012, responsible for regularizing DG in Brazil, was published or revised and that most of the technologies deposited are intended for power generation, with emphasis on that use wind energy. Microalgae lipids offer numerous advantages over those of plants and animals, enabling the sustainable commercialization of high value-added products in different markets. Although these markets are in a vertiginous annual expansion, technological life cycle modeling is a tool that has been rarely used for microalgae. Life cycle modeling is capable of assisting with decision-making based on data and is considered as a versatile model, usable in multiple software analyzing and diagnostic tasks. Modeling technological trends makes it possible to categorize the development level of the market and predict phase changes, reducing uncertainties and increasing investments. This study aims to fill this gap by performing a global analysis and modeling of microalgal lipid innovations. The Espacenet and Orbit platforms were used by crossing the keywords "microalgae", "lipid*", and the IPC code C12 (biochemistry and microbiology). Different sigmoid growth models were used in the present study. A successive repetition of the Chlorella genus category was found in the keyword clusters regarding extraction and separation of lipids. The life cycle S curve indicates a market starting at the maturity phase, where the BiDoseResp model stands out. Medicinal plants have always been prescribed around the world with therapeutic purposes for various diseases and disorders related to their profile of biologically active substances and health-promoting effects. Meantime, Rhodiola rosea has been of particular importance among physicians, researchers and the general public. Accordingly, the present perspective aimed to explore the beneficial effects of this plant by focusing on in vitro and in vivo studies, and nutritional effects. The current work also provides a comprehensive analysis of the Rhodiola rosea studies in the literature throughout a quantitative literature research analysis approach. The literature search was carried out by means of the Scopus database to retrieve Rhodiola rosea-related publications. VOSviewer software (v.1.6.16, 2020) was used to extract and elaborate bibliometric data. 958 publications ranging from 1966 to 2021 were given by the literature search. To control infectious diseases such as the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (Covid-19) that caused the current pandemic, disinfection measures are essential. Among building measures, disinfection chambers can help to decrease the transmission rate through the sanitizing capacity of the disinfectant used, which can thereby clean surfaces or humans. Out of existing biocides, ozone is considered one of the safest for humans, but one of the most powerful oxidizers, making the substance a better alternative as the biocidal solution in disinfection chambers. Analyses were carried out by using all patented documents related to disinfection chambers that used ozone as a disinfectant. A Derwent Innovation Index (DII) database search was undertaken to find these patents. Patent prospecting resulted in 620 patent documents that were divided into 134 patent families. There was no technology related to protective barriers for individuals, and the majority of patents in the retrieved data aimed at sterilizing medical devices and surfaces. Given that the specific Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC) code for ozone dissolved in liquid was used in the methodology search, but not included among the 10 most used codes in the patents, the use of ozonized water may be an innovative approach in the technology landscape of sterilization chambers. Summary: There are many technologies that may emerge and eventually disappear over the years. This fact makes the monitoring of technological trends as well as the anticipation of the direction of technological change paramount. This article aims to carry out the prospection of technologies, focusing on its technical‐commercial viability, for solar photovoltaic energy. The research method had a qualititative‐quantitative approach with application of the Delphi technique. In the conduction of the Delphi technique, seven steps were followed, ranging from the selection of the specialists to the considerations of their opinions regarding the future of nine photovoltaic technologies. The results of the research indicate that in 2020, the cells monocrystalline, multicrystalline, and amorphous silicon; cadmium telluride; indium/copper selenide, indium, and gallium diselenide; and multicompound III‐V cells will have technical and commercial viability and that dye‐sensitized silicon nanowire and carbon nanostructure‐based cells will not be viable. For the year 2025, monocrystalline and multicrystalline silicon cells and those of multicompounds III‐V will still be technically and commercially viable. Silicon nanowire; amorphous silicon; cadmium telluride; indium/copper, selenium, and gallium diselenide dye‐sensitized cells; and organic photovoltaic cells, including those based on carbon nanostructure, may be viable. This study is important, because the technological prospecting of the photovoltaic cells determines the possible trajectories of these cells, in a way that helps the companies of the sector to anticipate the strategic scenarios, thus facilitating the decision making process. The objective of this prospection was to study the use of molecular markers in turtles. For this, information was obtained on scientific articles in Science Direct, Web of Science and SCOPUS databases as well as on patent documents in INPI, WIPO and EPO databases. Thus, a large number of published studies involving molecular markers were found, although this number is lower when associated with use in turtles. To control infectious diseases such as the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (Covid-19) that caused the current pandemic, disinfection measures are essential. Among building measures, disinfection chambers can help to decrease the transmission rate through the sanitizing capacity of the disinfectant used, which can thereby clean surfaces or humans. Out of existing biocides, ozone is considered one of the safest for humans, but one of the most powerful oxidizers, making the substance a better alternative as the biocidal solution in disinfection chambers. Analyses were carried out by using all patented documents related to disinfection chambers that used ozone as a disinfectant. A Derwent Innovation Index (DII) database search was undertaken to find these patents. Patent prospecting resulted in 620 patent documents that were divided into 134 patent families. There was no technology related to protective barriers for individuals, and the majority of patents in the retrieved data aimed at sterilizing medical devices and surfaces. Given that the specific Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC) code for ozone dissolved in liquid was used in the methodology search, but not included among the 10 most used codes in the patents, the use of ozonized water may be an innovative approach in the technology landscape of sterilization chambers.

Introdução: as Lesões por Pressão estão entre os agravos mais comuns e evitáveis adquiridos no ambiente hospitalar. Uma estratégia simples, prática e sistemática utilizada para otimizar o diagnóstico, estadiamento e acompanhamento das lesões por pressão, trata-se do emprego de tecnologia em saúde, por meio de aplicativos móveis disponíveis para Smartphones e tablets. Objetivo: investigar os aplicativos e softwares para dimensionar, estadiar e avaliar Lesão por Pressão em pacientes adultos e idosos, disponíveis para uso no contexto brasileiro. Método: trata-se de uma prospecção tecnológica, cujo protocolo baseou-se em uma adaptação das orientações propostas pelo PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR): Checklist and Explanation. A pergunta de pesquisa foi construída utilizando o seguinte mnemônico PCC (P - adulto e idosos, C - apps e softwares para aparelhos smartphones que dimensionam e avaliam lesões por pressão LPP e C - contexto aberto): Quais os aplicativos móveis e/ou softwares para aparelhos smartphones que realizam o dimensionamento, estadiamento e avaliação de tecidos de lesões por pressão em adultos e idosos estão disponíveis para uso? A revisão será conduzida em nove etapas: 1) construção das perguntas de pesquisa e definição dos objetivos; 2) Definição dos critérios de elegibilidade; 3) Definição da estratégia de busca; 4) Pesquisa nas Bases de Patentes e lojas virtuais; 5) Seleção dos apps e/ou softwares; 6) Caraterização dos apps e/ou softwares; 7) Análise; 8) Apresentação dos resultados; e 9) Conclusões e implicações para saúde a prática clínica. The Brazilian furniture industry has a prominent role on the world stage, with important production and export figures. However, how much of this national production is protected by Industrial Design registration? In order to analyze this panorama, the present research work aims to investigate the data of requests for registration of Industrial Design of furniture in Brazil. For the development of the research, a survey of requests for Industrial Design registration deposits was carried out, at the National Institute of Industrial Property - INPI, between the years 1996 to 2021, using the search term "furniture" and only the subclasses of 06-01 to 06-06. As a result, 125 Industrial Design registration requests were found. Although the result obtained is related only to the cut covered in this survey, it suggests that there is a need to create and promote public policies to encourage innovation and protection of these technological assets in our country. A indústria moveleira brasileira tem um papel de destaque no cenário mundial, apresentando números importantes de produção e de exportação. Contudo, quanto dessa produção nacional é protegida por registro de Desenho Industrial? Para analisar esse panorama, o presente trabalho de pesquisa tem como objetivo investigar os dados de pedidos de registro de Desenho Industrial de móveis no Brasil. Para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa, foi realizado um levantamento de pedidos de depósitos de registro de Desenho Industrial, no Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (INPI) entre os anos de 1996 a 2021, utilizando como termo de busca “mobiliário” e somente as subclasses de 06-01 a 06-06. Com isso, foram encontrados 125 pedidos de registro de Desenho Industrial. Embora o resultado obtido esteja relacionado apenas ao recorte abordado nesse levantamento, ele sugere que há a necessidade de criar e fomentar políticas públicas de incentivo à inovação e proteção desses ativos tecnológicos em nosso país.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the development of biotechnologies related to the bioremediation of soil contaminated by agrochemicals using fungi through technological prospecting with patent mapping and analysis of scientific products. Due to the high complexity of biotechnologies involving microorganisms, it is observed that the state of the art is still in development, with several technological advantages already elucidated and important challenges to be overcome. Patent mapping revealed that the number of granted or pending patents showed a positive trend. In this context, a high number of patent documents were observed that describe processes and methods aimed at the preparation and application of fungi in soil bioremediation, as well as biotechnologies that use consortia of different strains of fungi or fungi and bacteria and advanced approaches involving genetic engineering. In short, it was found that inventions related to the investigated biotechnology have been protected mainly in China, the USA, Japan, and the European Union, with emphasis on the technological impact of patents in India. Finally, the findings indicated that soil bioremediation with the use of fungi presents a potential for development due to a series of technological and environmental aspects. • Technological mapping in soil bioremediation patents by fungi shows the evolution of this biotechnology with good prospects for the future. • Fungi are suitable and promising for soil bioremediation biotechnology due to their characteristics and their enzymatic and metabolic processes, with a wide range of applications. • Patented inventions about soil bioremediation with fungi present great advantages for the development of eco-friendly biotechnologies. • The patent mapping showed that the number of patents filed has grown consistently in the last 20 years. • Patents filed in the USA, Japan, European Union countries and India have high technological value in terms of the number of citations and measured technological impact. • This study is a patent prospection of immunodiagnostic methods for human tegumentary leishmaniasis in the last 10 years. • Eleven patents satisfied our search criteria, where six of them were registered in 2017. • Ten patents were registered in Brazil. • The most of the patents included in the study refer to the use of peptides or proteins isolated from the parasites to produce an immunodiagnostic kit. Leishmaniasis is a neglected disease and more than 1 billion people live in endemic areas with the risk of infection worldwide. Although it is an important epidemiological issue, the gold standard method of diagnosis requires invasive sample collection and is accompanied by a high level of sensitivity variation in results. The present study aims to conduct a patent prospection of immunodiagnostic methods for human tegumentary leishmaniasis in the last 10 years, focused on those with high sensitivity and specificity, and simple usability. We searched seven patent databases: The LENS, WIPO, EPO, USPTO, Patent Inspiration, Google patents, and INPI. Eleven patents were found that satisfy our search criteria, with six of them being registered in 2017. Most patents were registered in Brazil. The information obtained here covers the main characteristics of the immunodiagnostic methods evaluated. Moreover, our prospective study reveals the latest biotechnological advancements achieved in the immunodiagnosis of tegumentary leishmaniasis, especially in Brazil, which holds the majority of patents in this subject. However, no patent for immunodiagnostic methods was found in the last three years, which raises concerns about the present and future trends of leishmaniasis diagnosis. Objective The study is projected to examine the information contained in patent documents that are in the public domain, using prospecting mechanisms focused on available technologies for the treatment of diseases of the Coronavirus family. Methodology and Discussion This is an investigation to identify and evaluate technologies developed for SARS and MERS and their possible contributions to COVID-19. It adopted as a procedure a patentometric study carried out on the Questel Órbita platform to identify public domain patents related to diseases caused by the Coronavirus and the Delphi method for the analysis of technologies and their possible contribution to the treatment of SARS-CoV-2. This article analyzed the process of registration and management of Embrapa's brands through a survey of the history of protection in Brazil and abroad, identifying the internal processes and criteria for carrying out such registrations. For this, a case study was carried out, with documental survey, identification and data search in the INPI database referring to trademarks linked to Embrapa's CNPJ from 1970 to May 2021. The results obtained showed that the Institution has been expanding the protection of its trademark assets, with 522 processes at the INPI, the majority of which are in force, with the tendency to protect them as trademarks in more than one class. In 2021, Embrapa updated its guiding document regarding the creation and management of brands, seeking greater organization of the internal process, as well as the promotion of this asset as a business instrument. Este artigo analisou o processo de registro e de gestão das marcas da Embrapa por meio do levantamento do histórico de proteção no Brasil e do exterior, identificando os processos e os critérios internos para efetivação de tais registros. Para isso, foram realizados um estudo de caso, com levantamento documental, entrevistas e busca de dados na base do INPI referentes às marcas ligadas ao CNPJ da Embrapa de 1970 até maio de 2021. Os resultados obtidos demonstraram que a Instituição vem ampliando a proteção dos seus ativos marcários, com 522 processos no INPI, sendo a maioria em vigor, possuindo ainda a tendência de resguardar as marcas em mais de uma classe. Em 2021, a Embrapa atualizou o seu documento orientador referente à criação e gestão de marcas, buscando uma maior organização do processo interno, bem como a promoção desse ativo como instrumento de negócio.

The article aims to carry out a study on the chemical applications already described for the species Aspidosperma pyrifolium Mart., of the Apocynaceae family, which belongs to the Caatinga biome and has great occurrence in the states of the North and Northeast regions of the country. For this, a literature review was carried out with technological prospection, using the scientific databases Scielo, Google Scholar, PubMed and Portal Periodicals. The analysis of the results obtained point to the great importance of the occurrence of indole alkaloids due to their biological and pharmacological properties, justifying the various activities already described in research on the species and the wide application in folk medicine. There was a predominance of works developed in Brazil, being carried out specifically by Universities in the Northeast region. The activities already described in the literature about the plant species present a wide range of possibilities for future research, for example, the broader investigation about the pharmacological, insecticidal, parasiticide activities, among others, to be studied more deeply. El artículo tiene como objetivo realizar un estudio sobre las aplicaciones químicas ya descritas para la especie Aspidosperma pyrifolium Mart., de la familia Apocynaceae, perteneciente al bioma Caatinga y de gran ocurrencia en los estados del Norte y Nordeste del país. Para ello se realizó una revisión bibliográfica con prospección tecnológica, utilizando las bases de datos científicas Scielo, Google Scholar, PubMed y Portal Periodicals. El análisis de los resultados obtenidos apuntan a la gran importancia de la aparición de los alcaloides de indol por sus propiedades biológicas y farmacológicas, lo que justifica las diversas actividades ya descritas en las investigaciones sobre la especie y la amplia aplicación en la medicina popular. Hubo predominio de trabajos desarrollados en Brasil, siendo realizados específicamente por Universidades de la región Nordeste. Las actividades ya descritas en la literatura sobre las especies vegetales presentan un amplio abanico de posibilidades para futuras investigaciones, por ejemplo, la investigación más amplia sobre las actividades farmacológicas, insecticidas, parasiticidas, entre otras, para ser estudiadas con mayor profundidad. O artigo tem por objetivo realizar um estudo sobre as aplicações químicas já descritas para a espécie Aspidosperma pyrifolium Mart., da família Apocynaceae, a qual pertence ao bioma Caatinga e tem grande ocorrência nos estados das regiões Norte e Nordeste do país. Para isso foi realizada uma revisão de literatura com prospecção tecnológica, utilizando as bases de dados científicos Scielo, Google Acadêmico, PubMed e Portal Periódicos. As análises dos resultados obtidos apontam a grande importância da ocorrência dos alcaloides indólicos devido suas propriedades biológicas e farmacológicas, justificando as várias atividades já descritas em pesquisas sobre a espécie e a grande aplicação na medicina popular. Verificou-se o predomínio de trabalhos desenvolvidos no Brasil, sendo realizados especificamente por Universidades da região Nordeste. As atividades já descritas na literatura acerca da espécie de planta apresentam uma vasta gama de possibilidades para futuras pesquisas, a exemplo, a investigação mais ampla acerca das atividades farmacológicas, inseticidas, parasiticida, entre outras, a serem estudadas mais profundamente.

This study aims to explore the technological innovations presented in aquaculture virtual fairs and to identify the segments that stand out the most to subsidize the captive production of shrimp and fish. The prospective study was developed from the information compilation collected at Aqua Expo El Oro Online and International Fish Congress Brasil Digital, both fairs held in 2020. Among the results obtained, segments were identified that offered products with high know-how directed to new crop trends. The animal nutrition and health segment stood out, with a wide supply of inputs, as well as technologies aimed at automated feeding in nurseries, demonstrating the nutritional importance for coping with diseases in aquaculture production. In addition, the events featured lectures with leading aquaculture professionals who reported on the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on international trade for the sector. Este estudio tiene como objetivo prospectar las innovaciones tecnológicas presentadas en ferias virtuales para la acuicultura e identificar los segmentos que más se destacan para subsidiar la producción en cautiverio de camarones y peces. El estudio prospectivo se desarrolló a partir de la recopilación de información recolectada en dos ferias virtuales realizadas en 2020: Aqua Expo El Oro Online e International Fish Congress Brasil Digital. Entre los resultados obtenidos, se identificaron segmentos que ofrecían productos con alto know-how orientados a las nuevas tendencias de cultivo. Se destacó el segmento de nutrición y salud animal, con una amplia oferta de insumos, así como tecnologías destinadas a la alimentación automatizada en estanques, demostrando la importancia nutricional para el combate de enfermedades en la producción acuícola. Asimismo, los eventos contaron con conferencias con importantes profesionales del área acuícola quienes informaron sobre los impactos de la pandemia del Covid-19 en el comercio internacional para el sector. Este estudo tem como objetivo prospectar as inovações tecnológicas apresentadas em feiras virtuais para a aquicultura e identicar os segmentos que mais se destacam para subsidiar a produção em cativeiro de camarões e peixes. O estudo prospectivo foi desenvolvido a partir da compilação de informações coletadas em duas feiras virtuais realizadas em 2020: Aqua Expo El Oro Online e International Fish Congress Brasil Digital. Dentre os resultados obtidos, identificaram-se segmentos que ofertaram produtos com alto know-how direcionados às novas tendências de cultivos. Destacou-se o segmento de nutrição e saúde animal, com uma ampla oferta de insumos, bem como tecnologias voltadas para alimentação automatizada em viveiros, demonstrando a importância nutricional para o enfretamento de enfermidades na produção aquícola. The objective of this research was to carry out a news content analysis published in the media related to Epinephelus marginatus, a marine fish specie present on the Brazilian coast, which has high commercial value, good market acceptance and has a partially developed technological package. The results indicate that initiatives are being carried out to promote their reproduction in captivity and also to guarantee the repopulation of some regions affected by artisanal and industrial fishing. These activities are carried out with the aim of preserving and recovering marine ecosystems and boosting national marine fish farming, as an alternative to extractivism and the conservation of the species that is on the list of species threatened with extinction due to human action. El objetivo de esta investigación fue realizar un análisis de contenido de las noticias publicadas en los medios de comunicación relacionadas con la garoupa (Epinephelus marginatus), una especie de pez marino que ocurre naturalmente en la costa brasileña, que tiene un alto valor comercial, buena aceptación en el mercado y tiene un paquete de tecnología parcialmente desarrollada. Los resultados indican que se han llevado a cabo iniciativas para promover su reproducción en cautiverio y también asegurar el repoblamiento de algunas regiones afectadas por la pesca artesanal e industrial. Estas actividades se realizan con el objetivo de preservar y recuperar los ecosistemas marinos e impulsar la piscicultura marina nacional, como alternativa al extractivismo y conservación de la especie que se encuentra en la lista de especies amenazadas por la acción del hombre. A finalidade desta pesquisa foi realizar uma análise de conteúdo de notícias publicadas na mídia relacionadas a garoupa-verdadeira (Epinephelus marginatus), uma espécie de peixe marinho de ocorrência natural na costa brasileira, que apresenta alto valor comercial, boa aceitação de mercado e possui pacote tecnológico parcialmente desenvolvido. Os resultados indicam que iniciativas vêm sendo realizadas para promover a sua reprodução em cativeiro e também garantir o repovoamento de algumas regiões afetadas pela pesca artesanal e industrial. Essas atividades são realizadas com o intuito de preservar e recuperar os ecossistemas marinhos e impulsionar a piscicultura marinha nacional, como alternativa ao extrativismo e a conservação da espécie que se encontra na lista de espécies ameaçadas de extinção devido a ação humana.

Patent BR is a free web system for technological prospecting for patents. Its purpose is to make the strategic information contained in patent documents accessible and uncomplicated in order to popularize technological prospecting for patents and foster innovation in Brazil. The platform performs patent searches, data processing and analysis by generating dynamic graphics in an automated way. Furthermore, it allows the creation of a technological showcase for Brazilian patents and a patent academy for educational purposes. Finally, it is suggested to implement the provision of specialized services through the creation of a Support Center for Technology and Innovation and other technological solutions in patents through the development of a multidisciplinary and multi-institutional research network in the country. Patente BR é um sistema web gratuito para a prospecção tecnológica de patentes. O seu propósito é acessibilizar e descomplicar as informações estratégicas contidas nos documentos de patentes para popularizar a prospecção tecnológica de patentes e contribuir para o fomento à inovação no Brasil. A plataforma realiza busca de patentes, tratamento de dados e análises por meio da geração de gráficos dinâmicos de forma automatizada. Ademais, permite a criação de uma vitrine tecnológica de patentes brasileiras e uma academia de patentes para fins educacionais. Por fim, sugere-se a implementação da prestação de serviços especializados através da criação de um Centro de Apoio à Tecnologia e Inovação e de outras soluções tecnológicas em patentes por meio do desenvolvimento de uma rede de pesquisa multidisciplinar e multi-institucional no país.

There are many technologies that may emerge and eventually disappear over the years. This fact makes the monitoring of technological trends as well as the anticipation of the direction of technological change paramount. This article aims to carry out the prospection of technologies, focusing on its technical‐commercial viability, for solar photovoltaic energy. The research method had a qualititative‐quantitative approach with application of the Delphi technique. In the conduction of the Delphi technique, seven steps were followed, ranging from the selection of the specialists to the considerations of their opinions regarding the future of nine photovoltaic technologies. The results of the research indicate that in 2020, the cells monocrystalline, multicrystalline, and amorphous silicon; cadmium telluride; indium/copper selenide, indium, and gallium diselenide; and multicompound III‐V cells will have technical and commercial viability and that dye‐sensitized silicon nanowire and carbon nanostructure‐based cells will not be viable. For the year 2025, monocrystalline and multicrystalline silicon cells and those of multicompounds III‐V will still be technically and commercially viable. Silicon nanowire; amorphous silicon; cadmium telluride; indium/copper, selenium, and gallium diselenide dye‐sensitized cells; and organic photovoltaic cells, including those based on carbon nanostructure, may be viable. This study is important, because the technological prospecting of the photovoltaic cells determines the possible trajectories of these cells, in a way that helps the companies of the sector to anticipate the strategic scenarios, thus facilitating the decision making process

The savannah biome occupies about 23% of Brazil’s surface area, considered the second largest biome in Brazil. It has about 4,800 endemic species, including the fruiting species Eugenia dysenterica DC. (cagaita tree). Rich in nutrients, this species has economic potential in Brazil, as it has actions directly related to human health. This study carried out technological monitoring on the knowledge and technologies generated, using the species E. dysenterica, over the period of 2009-2019. Data showed that for this species 77 master theses, 21 doctoral theses, 97 scientific manuscripts, and two patents were found during this period. A more detailed analysis showed that part of the knowledge and technologies generated is concentrated in the field of environmental biotechnology (35.9%), followed by industrial biotechnology (28.3%), health biotechnology (22.8%), and plant biotechnology (13%). Thus, the potential to be explored in relation to E. dysenterica for the development of biotechnological products of commercial interest is discussed. O bioma Cerrado ocupa cerca de 23% da área brasileira e é considerado o segundo maior bioma do Brasil. Possui cerca de 4.800 espécies endêmicas, incluindo a espécie frutífera Eugenia dysenterica DC. (cagaita). Rica em nutrientes, esta espécie possui potencial econômico no Brasil por possuir ações diretamente relacionadas à saúde humana. O presente estudo realizou o monitoramento tecnológico dos conhecimentos e das tecnologias geradas, utilizando a espécie E. dysenterica, no período de 2009-2019. Os dados demostraram que durante esse período foram encontrados para esta espécie 77 dissertações, 21 teses, 97 artigos científicos e duas patentes depositadas. Uma análise mais detalhada demonstrou que parte do conhecimento e das tecnologias geradas está concentrada na área de biotecnologia ambiental (35,9%), seguida pela biotecnologia industrial (28,3%), biotecnologia da saúde (22,8%) e biotecnologia vegetal (13%). Assim, o artigo analisa e discute o potencial a ser explorado em relação à E. dysenterica para o desenvolvimento de produtos biotecnológicos de interesse comercial.

Introduction: Bacterial antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria mutate and escape the effect of antibiotics, which makes the antibiotics no longer effective in treating infections. New solutions for bacterial infections are a persistent need including the identification of drugs with better pharmacological profiles, more potent, and safer. Cyclodextrins inclusion complexes have been able to improve the physicochemical and pharmacological properties of the formulation molecules, resulting in new alternatives with better efficacy., Areas Covered: The patents analyzed in the review used treatments based on antibiotics already on the market, natural products, and synthesized molecules composed of the formulation with cyclodextrins. The combination between cyclodextrin and nanostructures also were presented in the patents review process. Moreover, inclusion complexes have been an alternative in developing treatment mainly in China by the pharmaceutical industries in several countries such as Germany, Hungary, the United States of America, Japan and China., Expert Opinion: This review is broad and complete since it considers the first patent involving cyclodextrins and antibacterial drugs. Therefore, the various inclusion complexes and antibacterial drugs alternatives presented in this review offer therapeutic options to fight bacterial infections. If shown to be effective, these drugs may be extremely important in the current clinical practice.

Hops are the ingredient used in beer brewing responsible for aromas and bitterness in the beverage. In Brazil it is almost entirely imported. This plant, although used to specific climate regions, has been cultivated in Brazilian soil and has obtained promising results. In light of this, this paper did a technological prospection on what has been researched and developed on hops and their utilization in the brewing process for the last 20 years. It is known that from the moment that Brazilian hops begun to be commercialized; new technologies and processes are required for their proper use. This research showed that the countries with highest beer or hops production invested more in the research and development sector. Other findings of this study included the difficulties for the appropriate insertion of hops cultivated in Brazilian territory to be used by breweries. O lúpulo é o insumo utilizado na fabricação de cerveja responsável por aromas e pelo amargor da bebida. No Brasil, essa matéria-prima é importada quase que em sua totalidade. Essa planta, habituada a regiões de clima específico, está sendo cultivada em solo brasileiro e obtendo resultados promissores. Em função disso, o presente artigo buscou realizar uma prospecção tecnológica, por meio de uma metodologia qualitativa exploratória, sobre o que está sendo estudado e desenvolvido sobre lúpulo e sua utilização no processo cervejeiro nos últimos 20 anos. Sabe-se que, a partir do momento em que houver a comercialização de lúpulo nacional, novas tecnologias e processos serão necessários para sua manufatura. A pesquisa revelou uma tendência de países com maior produção de lúpulo ou cerveja a investirem mais em pesquisa e desenvolvimento no setor. Além do mais, foram identificados entraves para a inserção apropriada do lúpulo cultivado em território nacional para ser utilizado pelas cervejarias.

To control infectious diseases such as the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (Covid-19) that caused the current pandemic, disinfection measures are essential. Among building measures, disinfection chambers can help to decrease the transmission rate through the sanitizing capacity of the disinfectant used, which can thereby clean surfaces or humans. Out of existing biocides, ozone is considered one of the safest for humans, but one of the most powerful oxidizers, making the substance a better alternative as the biocidal solution in disinfection chambers. Analyses were carried out by using all patented documents related to disinfection chambers that used ozone as a disinfectant. A Derwent Innovation Index (DII) database search was undertaken to find these patents. Patent prospecting resulted in 620 patent documents that were divided into 134 patent families. There was no technology related to protective barriers for individuals, and the majority of patents in the retrieved data aimed at sterilizing medical devices and surfaces. Given that the specific Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC) code for ozone dissolved in liquid was used in the methodology search, but not included among the 10 most used codes in the patents, the use of ozonized water may be an innovative approach in the technology landscape of sterilization chambers.

A new line of computers that interconnects through the Internet, also known as the Internet of Things, is a great challenge to be understood as a mechanism to generate new opportunities in the technology industry and society. This study aimed to analyze, by means of a technological prospection, the patent deposits on the Internet of Things in the world. Patent application searches were carried out at the bases of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), called Patentscope and the European Patent Office (Espacenet). The study showed the prominence of China and the United States in the technological production of the area. Brazil is still not among the main countries originating from IoT technologies, however in 2019 it established Decree No. 9,854, which establishes the National Plan for the Internet of Things.

This study aims to monitor patent-based sources of technological information. Subsequently, this study conducts a technology survey in a patent bank to identify: (i) the main patent filers; (ii) the depositor's profile; (iii) the number of patent filings in each country; and (iv) distribution by theme. The study used the national database of the National Institute of Industrial Property - INPI, and the ORBIT® software to build this mapping. As an exploratory research, the methodology used in this study was processed through the survey of bibliographic sources, data search, treatment and analysis of technological information accessible on patent basis, were investigated patents related to the technologies applied to processing and cocoa derivatives. The technological mapping showed evidence of technological routes related to the cocoa fermentation and drying process, which in turn is associated with the quality of almonds, which can add value to cocoa products, and will allow opening to new markets. Therefore, the discussions of this study become a relevant source of consultation, and may also help to better understand the way technological advances are being directed, and may also point out possible technological routes, giving subsidies for resource allocation and conducting research that is likely to generate economic, environmental and social value for the Southern Coastal Territory of Bahia., Esse estudo tem como objetivo monitorar fontes de informações tecnológicas acessíveis em base de patentes. Posteriormente, este estudo realiza uma prospecção tecnológica em banco de patentes, a fim de identificar: (i) os principais depositantes de patentes; (ii) o perfil do depositante; (iii) a quantidade de registros de depósitos de patentes em cada país; e a (iv) distribuição por temas. O estudo utilizou a base de dados nacional do Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial – INPI, e o software ORBIT® para construção deste mapeamento. Como pesquisa exploratória, a metodologia utilizada neste estudo processou-se mediante o levantamento em fontes bibliográficas, busca de dados, tratamento e análise das informações tecnológicas acessíveis em base de patentes, foram investigadas patentes relacionadas às tecnologias aplicadas ao beneficiamento e derivados do cacau. O mapeamento tecnológico mostrou indícios de rotas tecnológicas relacionadas ao processo de fermentação e secagem de cacau, que por sua vez está associado a qualidade das amêndoas, o que pode agregar valor aos produtos do cacau, e possibilitará abertura para novos mercados. Assim sendo, as discussões deste estudo torna-se uma relevante fonte de consulta, e pode ainda auxiliar numa melhor compreensão do modo como os avanços tecnológicos estão sendo direcionados, e, poderá ainda, apontar possíveis rotas tecnológicas, dando subsídios para alocação de recurso e direcionamento de pesquisas que tenham propensão de gerar valor econômico, ambiental e social para Território Litoral Sul da Bahia., Este estudio tiene como objetivo monitorear las fuentes de información tecnológica basadas en patentes. Posteriormente, este estudio lleva a cabo una encuesta tecnológica en un banco de patentes para identificar: (i) los principales solicitantes de patentes; (ii) el perfil del depositante; (iii) el número de solicitudes de patentes en cada país; y (iv) distribución por tema. El estudio utilizó la base de datos nacional del Instituto Nacional de Propiedad Industrial - INPI, y el software ORBIT® para construir este mapeo. Como investigación exploratoria, la metodología utilizada en este estudio se procesó a través de la encuesta de fuentes bibliográficas, búsqueda de datos, tratamiento y análisis de información tecnológica accesible a base de patentes, se investigaron patentes relacionadas con las tecnologías aplicadas al procesamiento y derivados del cacao. El mapeo tecnológico mostró evidencia de rutas tecnológicas relacionadas con el proceso de fermentación y secado del cacao, que a su vez está asociado con la calidad de las almendras, que pueden agregar valor a los productos de cacao y permitirán la apertura a nuevos mercados. Por lo tanto, las discusiones de este estudio se convierten en una fuente relevante de consulta, y también pueden ayudar a comprender mejor la forma en que se dirigen los avances tecnológicos, y también pueden señalar posibles rutas tecnológicas, otorgando subsidios para la asignación de recursos y realizar investigaciones que puedan generar valor económico, ambiental y social para el territorio costero sur de Bahía.

The usability of new tecnologies "up ferida" for the monitoring of diabetic patients with injuries requiring basic attention. A patented revision and library crossing a tecnological prospective. Summary: A tecnological prospective was made to evaluate the usability of new tecnologies for the monitoring of basic attention injuries. Patents and scientific articles were retrieved from databases WIPO, PATENTINSPIRATION, LATIP - SPACENET, Science Direct and Scopus, respectively. A search on the database WIPO utilizing the term "monitoring and diabetic" on the field "cover letter" and the option "name" PCT generated a return of 460 patents. No returned patents were recovered from database LATIPAP - SPACENET when using the term "monitoring and diabetic "in the field "intelligent search". The database PATENTINSPIRATION utilizing the term "monitoring and diabetic" 1 644 patents recovered reading the integral "title" and "summary" with the code IPC and CPC A61, B1/00, thus none refer the involvement of applications for the monitoring of diabetic patients with basic attention injuries indicating inediting having of a proposal in tracking patents deposited in Brazil by PCT. Se realizó una encuesta tecnológica para evaluar la usabilidad de las nuevas tecnologías para el seguimiento de heridas en Atención Primaria. Se solicitaron patentes y artículos científicos sobre la base de WIPO, PATENTINSPIRATION, LATIPAT - ESPACENET, Science Direct y Scopus, respectivamente. La búsqueda en la base de datos de la OMPI, utilizando el término “seguimiento y diabético” en el campo “página de cobertura” y la opción “nombre” PCT, generó la recuperación de 460 patentes. Se recuperaron 0 (0%) patentes en la base de datos LATIPAT-SPACENET cuando se utilizó el término "monitorización y diabético" en el campo "búsqueda inteligente". En la base de datos PATENTINSPIRATION utilizando el término "monitorización y diabético" 1.653 patentes recuperadas se leyeron en "título" completo y “Resumen” con código IPC y CPC A61, B1 / 00, sin embargo, ninguno se refiere al desarrollo de aplicaciones para el seguimiento de pacientes diabéticos con heridas en atención primaria, lo que indica la originalidad del tema propuesto en el caso de patentes registradas en Brasil y vía PCT. Foi realizada uma prospecção tecnológica para avaliar a usabilidade de novas tecnologias para o monitoramento de feridas na Atenção Básica. Patentes e artigos científicos foram buscados nas bases WIPO, PATENTINSPIRATION, LATIPAT - ESPACENET, Science Direct, e Scopus, respectivamente. A busca na base WIPO, utilizando o termo “monitoring and diabetic” no campo “página de cobertura” e a opção “nome” PCT, gerou a recuperação de 460 patentes. Foram recuperadas 0 (0%) patentes na base LATIPAT-SPACENET quando utilizado o termo “monitoring and diabetic” no campo “pesquisa inteligente". Na base PATENTINSPIRATION utilizando o termo “monitoring and diabetic” 1.653 patentes recuperadas lidas na íntegra “título” e “resumo” com código IPC e CPC A61, B1/00, porém, nenhuma se refere ao desenvolvimento de aplicativos para o monitoramento de pacientes diabéticos com feridas na atenção básica, indicando o ineditismo do tema proposto em se tratando de patentes depositadas no Brasil e via PCT.

The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amazonas (IFAM), in compliance with Law n. 10,973/2004, Law of Innovation, created the Technological Innovation Nucleus (NIT), a body linked to the Dean of Research, Post- Graduation and Technological Innovation (PPGIT). The objective of this study was to analyze the role of IFAM in relation to the development of intellectual property in the period from 2015 to 2019. As for the methodology, it was carried out through a case study, and to achieve the research objectives, bibliographic and documentary searches. The results indicate that IFAM carried out in the period from 2015 to 2019, the amount of 25 registrations and / or deposits with the INPI, being 2 brands, 18 patents and 5 computer programs. This study identifies areas that need more attention and investment in innovative processes, through a mapping of IFAM's intellectual property from the creation of its NIT. O Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Amazonas (IFAM), atendendo à Lei n.º 10.973/2004, Lei da Inovação, criou o Núcleo de Inovação Tecnológica (NIT), órgão vinculado à Pró-Reitoria de Pesquisa, Pós-Graduação e Inovação Tecnológica (PPGIT). O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a atuação do IFAM, com relação ao desenvolvimento da propriedade intelectual no período de 2015 a 2019. Quanto à metodologia, realizou-se por meio de estudo de caso, sendo que para atingir os objetivos do estudo realizou-se buscas bibliográficas e documentais. Os resultados apontam que o IFAM realizou no período de 2014 a 2019, o quantitativo de 25 depósitos para registro junto ao INPI, sendo 2 marcas, 18 patentes e 5 programas de computador. Este estudo identifica as áreas que necessitam de maior atenção e investimento em processos inovativos, por meio de um mapeamento da propriedade intelectual do IFAM a partir da criação do seu NIT.

The constant pursuit and maintenance of beauty by humanity since ancient times makes the cosmetics market companies increasingly search for innovative forms and products to add to their collection. Micellar water technology enters the collection of innovative products that seek to satisfy the needs of consumers. The present work aims to produce a technological prospection on micellar waters and their technologies, in order to identify market perspectives for this technological area. For the production of the study was developed bibliographic reviews and searches in the patent base European Patent Bank (ESPACENET). Subsequently, a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the data obtained was performed, noting that the first patent filed related to the subject was in the year 1984, having only 20 deposits over 35 years, and with Japan as the main filing country. The results show the need for increased research and patents on the subject, showing good prospects for innovation in the field. A constante busca e manutenção da beleza pela humanidade desde a antiguidade faz com que indústrias do mercado de cosméticos busquem cada vez mais formas e produtos inovadores para agregar em seu acervo. A tecnologia das águas micelares entra no acervo de produtos inovadores para saciar as necessidades dos consumidores. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo produzir uma prospecção tecnológica sobre águas micelares e suas tecnologias, a fim de identificar perspectivas de mercado para essa área tecnológica. Para a produção do estudo, foram desenvolvidas revisões bibliográficas e buscas na base patentária do Banco Europeu de Patentes (ESPACENET). Posteriormente, foi realizada análise qualitativa e quantitativa dos dados obtidos, observando-se que a primeira patente depositada relacionada ao assunto foi no ano de 1984, constatou-se, portanto, que houve apenas 20 depósitos ao longo de 35 anos e tendo que o Japão é o principal país depositante. Os resultados obtidos demonstram a necessidade do aumento de pesquisas e patentes sobre o tema, mostrando boas perspectivas de inovação na área.

This paper proposes to perform a technological evaluation of a kit for automatic monitoring of biological samples in incubators, equipped with a control system for illumination, acquisition, storage and transmission of images. It is located in the field of laboratory equipment for monitoring biological samples for analysis performed in the medical, biological, veterinary and pharmacological areas. This is a patent application called “Kit for automatic monitoring of biological samples in incubators, with lighting control, acquisition, storage and transmission of images” filed with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) on October 26, 2015. owned by the University of Brasilia Foundation (FUB) and the company Eletrospitalar commerce and technical assistance with the number BR 10 2015 027100 0. O presente artigo se propõe a realizar uma avaliação tecnológica de um kit para monitoramento automático de amostras biológicas em incubadoras, equipado com um sistema de controle para iluminação, aquisição, armazenamento e transmissão de imagens. Situa-se no campo dos equipamentos laboratoriais para monitoramento de amostras biológicas para análises realizadas nas áreas médica, biológica, veterinária e farmacológica. Trata-se de um pedido de patente denominado “Kit para monitoramento automático de amostras biológicas em incubadoras, com controle de iluminação, aquisição, armazenamento e transmissão de imagens” depositado junto ao Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (INPI) em 26 de outubro de 2015 de titularidade da Fundação Universidade de Brasília (FUB) e da empresa Eletrospitalar comércio e assistência técnica, possuindo o número BR 1020150271000.

The Caryocar brasiliense Camb. (pequizeiro) is a typical Brazilian tree with a high concentration of phenolic compounds, widely used for nutritional and medicinal purposes. In this perspective, the present research had as objective to carry out a technological prospection evaluating the world panorama of deposited patents. Questel - Orbit search and analysis software was used, including documents that had "pequi", "Caryocar brasiliense" or "pequizeiro" in the title, summary or claims. 128 patent documents have been identified. In 2002 there were the first deposits, since then every year there has been at least one deposit, until the moment the survey was carried out. The main depositary country was Brazil, the documents identified refer to different processes applied to obtain products for chemical conversion, with application mainly in the gastronomic and / or pharmaceutical area. Thus, the research points out an interest, mainly Brazilian, in the development of technologies attributed to this species. El Caryocar brasiliense Camb. (pequizeiro) es un árbol típico brasileño con una alta concentración de compuestos fenólicos, muy utilizado con fines nutricionales y medicinales. En esta perspectiva, la presente investigación tuvo como objetivo realizar una prospección tecnológica evaluando el panorama mundial de patentes depositadas. Se utilizó el software de búsqueda y análisis Questel - Orbit, incluyendo documentos que tenían "pequi", "Caryocar brasiliense" o "pequizeiro" en el título, resumen os reclamos. Se han identificado 128 documentos de patente. En 2002 se realizaron los primeros depósitos, desde entonces todos los años ha habido al menos un depósito, hasta el momento en que se realizó la encuesta. El principal país depositario fue Brasil, los documentos identificados se refieren a diferentes procesos aplicados para la obtención de productos para conversión química, con aplicación principalmente en el área gastronómica y / o farmacéutica. Así, la investigación apunta un interés, principalmente brasileño, en el desarrollo de tecnologías atribuidas a esta especie. O Caryocar brasiliense Camb. (pequizeiro) é uma árvore típica brasileira com alta concentração de compostos fenólico, de amplo uso popular para fins nutricionais e medicinais. Nessa perspectiva a presente pesquisa teve como objetivo realizar uma prospecção tecnológica avaliando o panorâma mundial de patentes depositadas. The Amazon region is a field of biological diversity that can be studied in several aspects, such as the technological exploration of its genetic heritage. This is the case of coumaru (Dipteryx odorata), a common tree species in the North and Midwest of the country. Could a technological prospecting for cumaru (Dipteryx odorata) contribute to the understanding of the potential of this species as a national resource? In order to answer the problem and, due to the marketing potential, the objective of this work is to conduct a study of Cumaru Technological Prospecting (Dipteryx odorata), through patent mapping and systematic bibliographic review of the term cumaru (Dipteryx odorata), to know the state of the art and its possible paths. The result shows that this element of national biodiversity has been arousing growing interest from researchers and companies; However, the research presented the complexity of technological prospection of the biodiversity of the Amazon due to multiculturalism and plurilingualism, with pluralities of common terms. A região amazônica é um campo de diversidade biológica que pode ser estudada em diversos aspectos, como o da prospecção tecnológica e de seu patrimônio genético. É o caso do cumaru (Dipteryx odorata), espécie arbórea comum no Norte e NO Centro-Oeste do país. Nesse sentido, uma prospecção tecnológica sobre o cumaru (Dipteryx odorata) poderia contribuir para o entendimento do potencial desSa espécie como recurso nacional? Para responder à problemática e, devido às potencialidades mercadológicas, o objetivo deste trabalho é realizar um estudo de Prospecção Tecnológica do Cumaru (Dipteryx odorata) por meio do mapeamento de patentes e da revisão bibliográfica sistemática do termo cumaru (Dipteryx odorata), para conhecer o estado da técnica e seus possíveis caminhos. O resultado aponta que esse elemento da biodiversidade nacional vem despertando crescente interesse de pesquisadores e de empresas, porém, a pesquisa apresentou a complexidade da prospecção tecnológica da biodiversidade da Amazônia devido ao multiculturalismo e ao plurilinguismo, com pluralidades de termos vulgares e de ditos comuns.

The genus Erythrina (Fabaceae) comprises 100 species of plants of commercial value and with important biological properties. The objective of this study was to carry out a scientific and technological survey of the genus Erythrina. The patent banks surveyed were the European Patent Office (EPO), the National Institute of Industrial Property of Brazil (INPI), the Latin American Patent Bank (LATIPAT), the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Most patents are deposited in the EPO and WIPO with 271 and 234 registrations, respectively. The growth in the number of patents deposited occurred as of 2010. China, the United States, Canada and Japan are the main patent depositors involving Erythrina species in the EPO and WIPO bases. The most frequent international patent classifications were A61K, followed by A61P and C12N. O gênero Erythrina (Fabaceae) compreende 100 espécies de plantas de valor comercial e com propriedades biológicas importantes. O objetivo deste estudo foi realizar uma prospecção científica e tecnológica do gênero Erythrina. Os bancos de patentes pesquisados foram o European Patent Office (EPO), o Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (INPI) do Brasil, o Banco de Patentes Latino-Americanas (LATIPAT), o United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) e o World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). A maioria das patentes está depositada na EPO e WIPO com 271 e 234 registros, respectivamente. O crescimento no número de patentes depositadas ocorreu a partir de 2010. A China, os Estados Unidos, o Canadá e o Japão são os principais depositantes de patentes envolvendo as espécies de Erythrina nas bases EPO e WIPO. As classificações internacionais mais frequentes das patentes foram A61K, seguida de A61P e C12N.

Malpighia emarginata DC. is a fruit species that is widely distributed in Brazil and economically important as a food source, particularly as a source of vitamin C. A literature search was carried out for scientific and technological articles and patents on Malpighia emarginata. In Web of Science and SCOPUS 169 and 179 articles were indexed respectively while for patents 11 (EPO) and 20 (WIPO) records were found. In regard to national contribution, China (EPO=5, WIPO=6) and South Korea (EPO=3, WIPO=4) are the major holders of patents based on research development in Malpighia emarginata. Technological research and development suggest that the genus Malpighia is now well known because of its nutritional properties and although Brazil has produced a significant number of publications, greater technological production is needed, given the major technical and scientific advances that have been made in regard to this species. Malpighia emarginata DC. é uma espécie frutífera com ampla distribuição no Brasil e potencial econômico no campo alimentício, principalmente como fonte de Vitamina C. Neste trabalho, realizou-se uma prospecção científica e tecnológica em bases de dados de artigos e patentes, nacional e internacional sobre Malpighia emarginata. Na Web of Science e no SCOPUS foram indexados 169 e 179 artigos, respectivamente, enquanto, para patentes, foram obtidos 11 (EPO) e 20 (WIPO) registros. Com relação a países, a China (EPO=5 e WIPO=6) e a Coreia do Sul (EPO=3 e WIPO=4) são os maiores detentores de patentes envolvendo o desenvolvimento de pesquisas sobre Malpighia emarginata. As pesquisas tecnológicas e científicas sugerem que o gênero Malpighia tornou-se bastante conhecido principalmente devido às suas propriedades nutricionais, e, embora o Brasil possua um número significativo de publicações, é necessário que haja maior produção de tecnologias, devido ao grande avanço técnico científico para a espécie.

The purpose of this article is to show the relevant aspects about the applications of trademarks from a public company in Brazil, in particular, the panorama of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa). The objective is to analyze the data of trademark applications in Brazil, questions about how the company works and the management of these intangible assets for the development of the company and the environment in which it operates. For the development of the research, an exploratory and descriptive case study was carried out, with a mixed approach (quanti-qualitative), through interviews of employees of the institution and by research in the main databases related to intellectual property, among the years 1970 to 2018, using the term “Embrapa” as the search term. All platforms surveyed had an increasing number of orders over the years. At the INPI base, 484 trademark applications were found, most of which are registered trademarks. It can be concluded that the advance in the protection of trademarks by Embrapa is noticeable, this advance may occur due to investments and market actions. However, despite the fact that the company has a relatively well-known trademark registration process, this procedure is not documented and there was a need to carry out the process documentation, as well as the guidance and training of the teams for protection and enforcement correctly the procedures for registering trademarks with the INPI. A proposta deste artigo é mostrar os aspectos relevantes acerca do registro de marcas de uma empresa pública no Brasil, em especial, o panorama da Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa). O objetivo é analisar os dados que permeiam os pedidos de registro de marca no Brasil, as questões sobre como a empresa trabalha e a gestão desses ativos intangíveis para o desenvolvimento da empresa e do ambiente em que ela está inserida. Para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa, foi realizado um estudo de caso, de natureza exploratória e descritiva, com abordagem mista (quanti-qualitativa), por meio de entrevistas de colaboradores da instituição e por pesquisa nas principais bases de dados referentes à propriedade intelectual, entre os anos de 1970 até 2018, utilizando-se como termo de busca a denominação “Embrapa” na titularidade. Todas as plataformas pesquisadas apresentaram número crescente de pedidos ao longo dos anos. Na base do INPI, foram encontrados 484 pedidos de registro de marcas, sendo em sua maioria marcas nominativas. Pode-se concluir que é perceptível o avanço na proteção de marcas pela Embrapa, esse avanço pode se dar devido aos investimentos e às ações do mercado. Todavia, apesar de a empresa possuir um processo para encaminhamento de registro de marcas relativamente conhecido, esse procedimento não está documentado e verificou-se a necessidade de se realizar a documentação do processo, bem como a orientação e a capacitação das equipes para proteção e execução de forma correta dos procedimentos de registros de marcas junto ao INPI.

This research aims to present a prospective and exploratory study on the still cachaças in Alagoas, aiming at the geographical indication and its competitive differentials. It is known that Brazilian cachaças bring with them the history and origin of a people, when associated with the sugar and alcohol production of the State of Alagoas and the Era of colonization, the history of a people solidifies and rescues tradition and socio-cultural values, showing the region. As a result, cachaças from alembic in Brazil are of significant importance for the country, since their expressed genuineness, adds value and wealth to Brazilians, as well as moves the creative economy to discover a new vocation for the region. Over the years, Cachaças has gained strength in the universe of fine spirits, driving greater visibility of the product in the global market scenario. The granting of the IG - Geographical Indication comes to add, along with the peculiar aspects that occur with the indication of the origin of a product, making it typically valued. In Alagoas, the history of cachaça is confused with the traditionalism and culture of its people, since sugar mills draw the origin and formation of a society, which until then, depended on Pernambuco. So, the sugar cane spirit starts to take on a popular taste, and the distillate begins to compose very fine tastes for those who know and appreciate drinks of the highest quality. With that, Alagoas stills start to develop differentiated products for the market, with high competitive potential, very sensory values, translated into presentation and flavor, thus the geographical indication continues and strengthens the process of notoriety of the Cachaças de Alambique de Alagoas. The study found immeasurable gains, such as the feeling of belonging of a people given to the rescue of a rich history. Essa pesquisa visa apresentar um estudo prospectivo e exploratório sobre as cachaças de alambique de Alagoas e suas potencialidades para a indicação geográfica e seus diferenciais competitivos. É sabido que as cachaças brasileiras trazem consigo a história e origem de um povo, quando associada a produção sucroalcooleira do Estado de Alagoas e a Era da colonização, a história de um povo se solidifica e resgatar a tradição e os valores socioculturais, evidenciando a região. Com isso, as cachaças de alambique do Brasil tem significativa importância para o País, uma vez que sua genuinidade expressa, agrega valor e riqueza para os brasileiros, bem como movimenta a economia criativa ao descobrir uma nova vocação para região. Com o passar dos anos as Cachaças tem ganhado força no universo de destilados finos, impulsionando uma maior visibilidade do produto no cenário mercadológico global. A concessão da IG – Indicação Geográfica vem a somar, juntamente com os aspectos peculiares que se dão com a indicação de procedência de um produto, tornando-o tipicamente valorizado. Em Alagoas, a história da cachaça se confunde com o tradicionalismo e a cultura do seu povo, uma vez que os engenhos de açúcar desenham a origem e formação de uma sociedade, que até então, dependia de Pernambuco. De modo que, a aguardente de cana de açúcar, começa tomar gosto popular, e o destilado, passa a compor paladares apuradíssimos de quem conhece e aprecia bebidas de altíssima qualidade. Com isso, os alambiques alagoanos passam a desenvolver produtos diferenciados para o mercado, com alto potencial competitivo, valores sensoriais apuradíssimos, traduzidos em apresentação e sabor, assim a indicação geográfica dá prosseguimento e força ao processo de notoriedade das Cachaças de Alambique de Alagoas. O estudo constatou ganhos imensuráveis, como a sensação de pertencimento de um povo dado ao resgate de uma rica história.
