AbstractThis study examined the relationship between the death of a child and cognitive function, considering how this association varies with the timing and number of losses. Utilizing four waves of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study, linear mixed models assessed the impact of child loss on cognition, while mediation analysis was conducted using the Karlson-Holm-Breen method. Findings indicate a detrimental effect of child loss on cognitive function, particularly for losses occurring before age 30 and after age 60. A dose-response relationship was noted, suggesting greater cognitive decline with increasing instances of child loss. Mediation analysis revealed that psychological distress, physical functioning limitations, and social engagement partly explain this link. Moreover, the negative effect was more significant in mothers. These insights underscore the need for targeted support and cognitive monitoring for bereaved parents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: Given the escalating demand for care services, understanding the impact of informal caregiving, providing unpaid care for family members, on own health is essential. This study longitudinally analyzed the association of caregiving (and different caregiver types) with mental, physical, and self-rated health. Urban–rural, gender, and employment heterogeneity were further investigated. Method: Based on three-wave data (2011, 2013, and 2018) from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study, we used growth curve models to assess the impact of informal caregiving (providing care to family members) and caregiver types (caregivers to grandchildren, parents, spouses, or multiple family members) on three health outcomes (depressive symptoms, self-rated health, and activities of daily living limitations). Results: Our study included 13,377 individuals. Results showed a negative correlation of caregiving with mental, physical, and self-rated health. Compared to noncaregivers, spousal caregivers and multiple caregivers were both associated with worsening mental, self-rated, and physical health. In contrast, adult child caregivers were only negatively associated with mental health, and grandparent caregiving did not significantly affect any health outcomes. Further heterogeneity analysis showed that gender did not moderate the relationship between caregiving and health, whereas the negative association between caregiving and health was more pronounced among the rural population and those employed in agriculture. Discussion: Findings from the present study suggest that caregiving is detrimental to health, and recommend considering caregiver type when examining caregiving and health. A total of 65 phenolic acid compounds were annotated or identified by UHPLC-MS/MS method, among them, 17 p-HAP (p-hydroxyacetophenone) glycosides were firstly targeted profiled based on molecular networking. Their characteristic product ions of MS/MS spectra were found and examined on the guideline of targeted isolation. As a result, a new p-HAP glycoside was thus obtained and determined as 2′-O-caffeoyl-p-HAP-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (33) based on 1D and 2D NMR data. Besides, multicomponents quantitative analysis indicated the distinct regional variability in chemicals distribution of A. japonica, and meanwhile, the contents of p-HAP glycosides from A. japonica were higher than those in A. capillaris as a whole, which further suggested the potential medicinal value of A. japonica. This study aimed to assess the accuracy of cortical bone trajectory (CBT) screws placement guided by a spinous process clamp (SPC) guide. A total of 32 patients who received single-level midline lumbar fusion (MIDLF) surgery between June 2019 and January 2020 were retrospectively analyzed and divided into free-hand (FH) and SPC-guided groups according to the surgical approach. In the FH group, CBT screws was implanted with the assistance of fluoroscopy, while in the SPC group, CBT screws was implanted using the SPC navigator hardwire. A total of 128 screws were assessed in this study, with higher rates of clinically acceptable screw placement (grades A and B) and grade A screws in the SPC group than in the FH guide group (92.2% vs. 79.7%, P = 0.042 and 54.7% vs. 35.9%, P = 0.033, respectively). Misplacement screws (grades C, D, and E) occurred more often in the FH group than in the SPC guide group (20.3% vs. 7.8%, P = 0.042). The incidence of proximal facet joint violation (FJV) was higher in the FH group than in the SPC group (15.6% vs. 3.1%, P = 0.030). The radiation dose and time in the SPC guide group were comparable to those in the FH group (P = 0.063 and P = 0.078). The average operative time was significantly longer in the SPC guide group than in the FH group (267.8 ± 45.5 min vs. 210.9 ± 44.5 min, P = 0.001). Other clinical parameters, such as the average bone mineral density (BMD), intraoperative blood loss, and postoperative hospital stay, were not significantly different. Oswestry disability index (ODI) and back pain visual analogue scale (VAS) scores were significantly improved in both groups compared with preoperatively. SPC guided screw placement was more accurate than the fluoroscopy-assisted FH technique for single-level MIDLF at L4/5. Objectives Few studies have examined the association between caregiving and the cognitive functioning of caregivers. This study explored the association between caring for family members and cognition and how the link differs by caregiving intensity and caregiving types. Furthermore, rural–urban and gender heterogeneity were investigated. Methods This study analyzed Waves 2011, 2013, and 2018 of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study, with cognitive functioning assessed in 3 dimensions: memory, executive function, and orientation function. The cognition trajectories between caregivers and noncaregivers were compared with the growth curve model. Results Results demonstrated a positive association between caregiving and cognitive functioning (β = 0.249, p <.001). Considering caregiving intensity, the positive association was only found in low (β = 0.335, p <.001) and moderate-intensity caregivers (β = 0.250, p <.05) but not in high-intensity caregivers. Moreover, grandparents, adult children, and multiple caregivers had a higher average cognition level at age 60 than noncaregivers (all β > 0, all p <.05), and adult child caregivers exhibited a significantly slower rate of decline in cognition across age (β = 0.040, p <.01). However, spousal caregivers showed no significant disparities with noncaregivers. Moreover, the impact of caregiving on memory function is more apparent among urban adults. Discussion Results indicate that caregiving can benefit cognitive function. This study proposes considering caregiving intensity and caregiving types when exploring caregiving and cognition. The effects of tensile and compressive deformation on the structural stability, electronic structure and optical properties of the Zn atom-adsorbed borophene system, which are exhibited by reflectivity, absorption coefficient, bandgap and adsorption energy, were studied using the first-principles calculations based on density functional theory (DFT). The borophene planes were found to be distorted following Zn atom adsorption. The adsorption energy calculations show that the stability decreases both under tensile and compressive strains. When tensile and compressive loading increase to 5%, respectively, the system loses the stability and the ability of adsorbing Zn atoms on borophene. The band structure and density of states analysis show that the band structure of borophene is changed by the Zn atom adsorption, with a band overlap near the Fermi level and more impurity energy levels in the conduction band. The hybridization is formed between Zn atom and borophene in the range of –12eV to 6eV, with the s and p orbitals both contributing to the conduction and valence bands, but p orbitals make a larger contribution to the total density of states than s orbitals. Studies of optical properties have shown that tensile and compressive strains both increase the dielectric constant of the adsorbed system, with compressive strains causing a redshift in the major peaks of the real and imaginary parts of the spectrum. The tensile strain has little effect on the absorption coefficient and reflectance of the borophene. Identification and validation of bioactive small-molecule targets is a significant challenge in drug discovery. In recent years, various in-silico approaches have been proposed to expedite time- and resource-consuming experiments for target detection. Herein, we developed several chemogenomic models for target prediction based on multi-scale information of chemical structures and protein sequences. By combining the information of a compound with multiple protein targets together and putting these compound-target pairs into a well-established model, the scores to indicate whether there are interactions between compounds and targets can be derived, and thus a target prediction task can be completed by sorting the outputted scores. To improve the prediction performance, we constructed several chemogenomic models using multi-scale information of chemical structures and protein sequences, and the ensemble model with the best performance was used as our final model. The model was validated by various strategies and external datasets and the promising target prediction capability of the model, i.e., the fraction of known targets identified in the top-k (1 to 10) list of the potential target candidates suggested by the model, was confirmed. Compared with multiple state-of-art target prediction methods, our model showed equivalent or better predictive ability in terms of the top-k predictions. Pillar[n]arenes, as a new class of macrocyclic hosts, show bright prospect due to their rigid cavity structures, rich host-guest interactions, and easy functionalization. How to improve the host-guest recognition selectivity, signal report sensitivity and host-guest assembly properties of the pillar[n]arene-based hosts by rational functionalization is an attractive issue. Among various of functionalization approaches for pillar[5]arenes, constructing conjugated systems through the A, A′-sites of pillar[5]arenes is a very crucial method. In contrast to conventional alkoxy chain-functionalized pillar[5]arenes, conjugated pillar[5]arenes exhibit superior charge transfer and signal response capabilities, as well as a rigid structure that facilitates the construction of framework materials. Furthermore, they readily facilitate collaborative effects through functionalized groups within the cavity of the pillar[5]arenes. There are many nice works on design synthesis and applications of conjugated pillar[5]arenes in various fields. Comprehensive Summary The cyanide anion (CN–) is known to be one of the most toxic anions. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop a reliable, sensitive, selective, rapid and effective method for the detection of CN–. Here, a self‐assembly strategy based on pillar[5]arene P5 and azine derivative AZ was used to construct supramolecular sensors, and it was found that the detection effect of CN– was significantly improved by the assembly strategy. The sensitivity of the assembled sensor P5‐AZ to CN– is more than 10 times higher than that of AZ. The detect mechanism was further investigated by theoretical calculations and 1H NMR. The results showed that AZ detects CN– by a deprotonation process with fluorescence enhancement, while P5‐AZ improves the sensitivity of CN– recognition through hydrogen bonding, anion‐π and anion‐dipole interactions, as well as the strong bonding ability of the assembly. Supramolecular assembly P5‐AZ has the advantages of low toxicity, high sensitivity, and more importantly, it provides a method to detect CN– sensitivity in the aqueous phase and organisms by host‐guest assembly. Although people strive for meaning in life, life is full of experiences that challenge meaning. According to Bowen's family systems theory, the family is both a relational and an emotional system in which family members influence and are influenced by each other. Invalidating environment, reflecting a deficient family emotional setting, may be a key influencing factor in diminishing meaning in life. Existing studies have not directly explored the effects of the invalidating environment on meaning in life and its underlying mechanism. Guided by Bowen's family systems theory, this study aims to explore the relationship between invalidating environment and meaning in life, as well as the mediating effects of regulatory emotional self-efficacy and the satisfaction of basic psychological needs. A sample of 555 university students (62.5 % female, 37.5 % male; Mage =19.13 years old, SD = 1.72) completed questionnaires regarding demographics, invalidating environment, meaning in life, regulatory emotional self-efficacy, and basic psychological needs satisfaction. Results revealed that: (a) invalidating environment negatively predicts meaning in life; (b) regulatory emotional self-efficacy and basic psychological needs satisfaction serve as both independent and chain mediators between invalidating environment and meaning in life. Invalidating environment affects meaning in life through regulatory emotional self-efficacy and basic psychological needs satisfaction. With the increasing demand for electronic products, the electronic package gradually developed toward miniaturization and high density. The most significant advantage of the Wafer-Level Package (WLP) is that it can effectively reduce the volume and footprint area of the package. An important issue in the design of WLP is how to quickly and accurately predict the reliability life under the accelerated thermal cycling test (ATCT). If the simulation approach is not adopted, it usually takes several ACTCs to design a WLP, and each ACTC will take several months to get the reliability life results, which increases development time considerably. However, simulation results may differ depending on the designer's domain knowledge, ability, and experience. This shortcoming can be overcome with artificial intelligence (AI). In this study, finite element analysis (FEA) is combined with machine learning algorithms, e.g., Kernel Ridge Regression (KRR), to create an AI model for predicting the reliability life of electronic packaging. The present study deals with developing novel 1,3,5‐triazine‐nicotinohydrazide derivatives as potent CDK9 inhibitors in a straightforward synthetic route with potent anti‐osteosarcoma activity. The most potent CDK9 inhibitor compound 5k inhibits proliferation of MG‐63 cells via induction of apoptosis and G2/M cell cycle arrest. It reduces tumor progression in the patient‐derived orthotopic xenograft (PDOX) mouse model with significant antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory activity. In tumor tissue homogenates, it caused significant inhibition of CDK9 and inhibited the phosphorylation of RNAPII ser2 and reduced MCL‐1 expression in Western blot analysis. Compound 5k also showed considerable bioavailability in SD mice. Our results demonstrated that compound 5k inhibits growth of OS in vitro and in vivo via inhibition of CDK9 which attenuated the downstream phosphorylation of RNAPII ser2 and represses expression of the anti‐apoptotic protein, MCL‐1 for the induction of apoptosis in OS. Rhizosphere is a soil volume of high spatio-temporal heterogeneity and intensive plant-soil-microbial interactions, for which visualization and process quantification is of highest scientific and applied relevance, but still very challenging. A novel methodology for quick assessment of two-dimensional distribution of available phosphorus (P) in rhizosphere was suggested, tested, and development up to the application platform. Available P was firstly trapped by an in-situ diffusive gradients in thin-films (DGT) sampler with precipitated zirconia as the binding gel, and subsequently, the loaded gel was analyzed with an optimized colorimetric imaging densitometry (CID). The imaging platform was established linking: i) DGT, ii) planar optode, and iii) soil zymography techniques to simultaneously determine available P, oxygen, and acid phosphatase in rhizosphere at sub-millimeter spatial scales. The DGT identified available P level in rice rhizosphere were spatially overlapping to the localized redox hotspots and phosphatase activity. The spatial relationship between available P and acid phosphatase activity was dependent on root development. The root radial oxygen loss (ROL) remained active during the experimental observations (2–3 days), while a flux of available P of 10 pg cm−2 s−1 was visualized within 2–3 mm of roots, confirming the correlative response of rice roots to oxygen secretion and P uptake. Summarizing, the established imaging platform is suitable to capture spatial heterogeneity and temporal dynamics of root activities, nutrient bioavailability, ROL and enzyme activities in rhizosphere. With the development of industrialization, the use of mercury in industry has become more and more widespread, causing serious impacts on the environment. It is therefore urgent to find new effective ways to combat mercury pollution. In this paper, The effect of C, O, P, Ni and Au doping on the adsorption of Hg atoms by WS 2 has been investigated based on the first nature principle of density functional theory. The electronic structures and optical properties of the adsorbed systems were calculated after atomic doping. The results show that the absolute value of the adsorption energy of the intrinsic adsorption system is small and does not favour the adsorption of Hg on WS 2. However, after C, P, Ni and Au doping, the adsorption energy of the system is significantly increased and a strong charge transfer between WS 2 and Hg atoms occurs, as well as a significant change in the band gap of the structure. This suggests that atomic doping favors the adsorption of Hg by WS 2. The effect of O doping on the adsorption system is not significant. In addition, a study of the optical properties revealed that the static dielectric constants of the system appeared to increase to varying degrees after the doping of the atoms. The doping of P, Ni and Au atoms increases the light absorption coefficient and contributes to the photocatalytic efficiency of the structures. The doped atoms cause a red shift in the reflectivity peak of the adsorbed system. In summary, the doping of C, P, Ni and Au enhances the adsorption of Hg atoms on WS 2. To minimize the adverse effect of high temperature PM 2.5 , the best way is to alert and filter out the PM 2.5 simultaneously. However, it remains a challenge to design filters with combined merits of high-performance, fire-retardancy and thermal response. In this work, we prepare the thermochromic luminous polysulfone membrane with high-temperature PM 2.5 filtration and alarming property. The dual luminous center containing covalent donor–acceptor (DA) structure and metal–ligand interaction are incorporated and electrospun into structure unified nanofibers. And different thermal responsiveness is observed for the dual luminous center. The high PM 2.5 filtration efficiency (99.1%), low pressure drops (98 Pa) and heat-resistant (T g > 236 °C) membrane can be directly applied on an in-situ high-temperature PM 2.5 filtration and monitoring device, with the emission color variable from red to cyan in a wide range. More importantly, PBN composite filters show excellent flame retardancy in comparison with the commercial PE fabrics, and the color indicating property functions well even under fire. Background: COVID-19 has become a public health emergency based on its clinical characteristics. Previous studies demonstrated that the onset of a sudden and immediately life-threatening illness could lead to extraordinary amounts of psychological pressure on nurses who play an important role in the illness. Whether COVID-19 pandemic has greater impacts on the psychological status and somatic symptoms from nurses who stand in the frontline of this crisis remain unclear.Methods: We evaluated post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and somatic symptoms in the frontline nurses (n = 438) who served in Wuhan, China, during COVID-19 crisis. Nurses who did not worked in the frontline of COVID-19 served as controls (n = 452). The investigation was processed by online questionnaires including: impact of event scale-revised (IES-R) , self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), and somatic symptoms.Results: Prevalence of moderate and severe PTSD was significantly increased in the frontline nurses compared to non-frontline nurses. Prevalence of mild anxiety was significantly increased in frontline nurses compared to non-frontline nurses. There were more frontline nurses suffering from severe insomnia and losing weight compared to non-frontline nurses. Severity of PTSD (IES-R score), but not severity of anxiety (SAS score) was similarly positively correlated to incidence of insomnia and weight loss in both frontline and non-frontline nurses to a similar extent.Limitations: The results only represented psychological statues and somatic symptom on one time point thus the development of psychological stress and somatic symptom during pandemic of COVID-19 in the frontline nurses were missing.Conclusions: COVID-19 negatively impacted on psychological and somatic status in frontline nurses. Films with low dielectric constants have broad prospective applications in microelectronic devices. In this study, octavinyloctasilasesquioxane (POSS) was grafted with fluorinated long carbon chains on its eight vertices by clicking reaction. The successful synthesis of fluorinated POSS (F-POSS) was confirmed by NMR, FT-IR, and XPS analyses. Then, the F-POSS/poly (arylene sulfide sulfone) (F-POSS/PASS) composite films were fabricated via solution casting. When 15 wt.% of F-POSS was added, the dielectric constant of the F-POSS/PASS film at 1 MHz decreased from 3.52 to 2.65, while the Tan δ value dropped from 1.18*10–2 to 9.32*10–3, respectively. The developed F-POSS/PASS film showed excellent hydrophobicity (water contact angle of 120.3°) which was attributed to the fluorinated long carbon chains. In addition, the optimized F-POSS/PASS film also exhibited good mechanical properties (tensile strength 66.87 MPa), promising thermal stability, and flame-retardant property. The electronic and optical properties of hydrogenated silicene at different torsion angles are investigated using the density functional theory (DFT). It was found that when silicene was hydrogenated, the Si atoms were pulled out of plane due to covalent interactions between the Si and H atoms, increasing their flexural height to 0.731 Å. Torsional deformation decreases the structural stability of hydrogenated silicene and its adsorption energy decreases with increasing twist angle. Under the effect of torsion deformation, the bandgap of hydrogenated silicene increases and then decreases. The bandgap is 2.168 eV at a torsion angle of 0∘, indicating a wide bandgap semiconductor. Mulliken's charge population analysis shows that charge transfer occurs between Si–H atoms, with Si atoms losing electrons and becoming positively charged and H atoms gaining electrons and becoming negatively charged. From the analysis of optical properties, the torsional deformation induced the maximum absorption and reflection peaks of all the hydrogenated silicene systems to appear in the ultraviolet region. Compared with the system without torsional deformation, these peaks exhibit varying degrees of red and blue shifts. Background: The aim of this study was to quantitatively summarize the available evidence on the association of breastfeeding with the risk of childhood cancer. Methods: A literature search of PubMed and Embase databases was performed to identify eligible observational studies published from inception to July 17, 2020. The categorical and dose-response meta-analysis was conducted by pooling relative risk (RR) or odds ratio (OR) estimates with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Potential sources of heterogeneity were detected by meta-regression and stratification analysis. Sensitivity analysis and publication bias test were also carried out. Results: Forty-five articles involving 475,579 individuals were included in the meta-analysis. Among the thirty-three studies on the association between breastfeeding and risk of childhood leukemia, the pooled risk estimates were 0.77 (95% CI, 0.65–0.91) and 0.77 (95% CI 0.63–0.94) for ever versus non/occasional breastfeeding and longest versus shortest breastfeeding duration group, respectively. There was clear indication for non-linear dose-response relationship between breastfeeding duration and the risk of childhood leukemia (P non-linear < 0.001). The most protective effect (OR, 0.66, 95% CI 0.62–0.70) was observed at a breastfeeding duration of 9.6 months. Four studies examined, the association between breastfeeding and risk of childhood neuroblastoma, and significant inverse associations were consistently observed in both the comparisons of ever breastfeeding versus non/occasional breastfeeding (OR = 0.59, 95% CI 0.44–0.81) and longest versus shortest breastfeeding (OR = 0.61, 95% CI 0.44–0.83). However, no associations of breastfeeding with risk of other cancers were found. Conclusions: Our study supports a protective role of breastfeeding on the risk of childhood leukemia, also suggesting a non-linear dose-response relationship. The excellent mechanical and piezoelectric properties of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) are its most valuable characteristics, and improving the piezoelectric performance of PVDF is an important subject of the study. However, several existing methodological studies have been regarded as complex and ineffective. The most efficient method to produce PVDF nanofibers with high β-phase contents is still electrospinning; however, this process does not facilitate the mass production of PVDF nanofibers and produces PVDF with a relatively low fraction of β-phase. Both these issues can be solved by solution blow spinning (SBS). This work focused on the optimum ratio of solvents to produce beadless PVDF nanofibers and highlighted the relationship between the spinning solution viscosity and the average diameter of the SBS nanofibers obtained. Using Fourier transform infrared reflection, it was evaluated that the fraction of the β-phase increased after the SBS process, which was calculated to be 85%; this value was considered as a relatively high fraction of β-phase, which was similar to that obtained by electrospinning. The effect of biaxial strain on O-doped monolayers MoS2 has been systematically studied by the first-principles calculations. It is shown that the strain decreases the structural stability of O-doped monolayer MoS2. Between 0% and 12% tensile strains, the bandgap steadily narrows. At different compression strains, the bandgap increases and then decreases. The optical properties analysis shows that the strain causes the peaks of both the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric function to appear in the low energy region. And it affects the absorption and reflection peaks of the doping system so that it has a strong absorption of photons in the ultraviolet region. The doping system shows resonance in the range of 0–10 eV. The results of this study verify that strain can properly regulate the electronic and optical properties of O-doped monolayer MoS2, and provide a theoretical reference for the implementation of MoS2 in optoelectronic devices. Geophysics has a role to play in the development of "smart cities". This is particularly true for Singapore, one of the world's most densely populated countries. Imaging of Singapore's subsurface is required to identify geological faults, model shaking from future earthquakes, and provide a framework for underground development. A noninvasive geophysical technique that is well suited for urban areas is passive seismic surveys using compact seismic instruments called nodes. Here we image Singapore's crustal structure using receiver functions generated by a 40‐day deployment of a 88 station nodal array. We generate high resolution receiver functions, despite the noisy environment and short recording time and also create common‐conversion point images. Our results reveal a complex crustal structure, containing multiple discontinuities. Azimuthal variations indicate a distinct change in crustal structure on either side of the postulated Bukit Timah fault, which has implications for seismic hazard. Plain Language Summary: By 2050 over two thirds of the global population is expected to live in cities (United Nations, Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Population Division, 2019). Such dense population centers increase the exposure to nearby natural hazards such as earthquakes. Rapid urbanization also creates an ever pressing need to understand the subsurface of our cities, for example, for underground development. One technological advancement that allows us to image the subsurface of cities are passive seismic surveys using nodes. Nodes are small seismic instruments that can be deployed in urban areas such as schools and parks. We present results of a passive seismic survey using 88 nodes deployed in Singapore for 40 days. We generate high resolution receiver functions across the array, despite the short recording time, by using array stacking techniques. The dense nature of the array also allows continuous high frequency signals to be traced. Our results reveal that the structure of the crust is different on either side of the Bukit Timah fault, which agrees with geological information. Ancient faults in peninsula Malaysia have been reactivated in the recent past due to stress transfer from the Sumatran subduction zone; therefore, a geological fault under a densely populated urban center warrants further study for seismic hazard. The Ventura Thrust system in California is capable of producing large magnitude earthquakes. Geological studies suggest that the fault geometry is complex, composed of multiple segments at different dips: thrust ramps dipping 30°–50° linked with bed-parallel décollements dipping < 10°. These latter types of gently dipping faults form due to preexisting weaknesses in the crust, and therefore have different frictional parameters from thrust ramps; the faults also experience different stresses because of how stresses are resolved onto the fault planes. Here, we use a two-dimensional fault model to assess how geometry and frictional properties of the ramp/décollement system should affect the seismic cycle. We test velocity-strengthening, velocity-weakening, and conditionally stable décollements, and in addition explore how the dip angle of the décollement changes the earthquake behavior. A velocity-strengthening décollement cannot replicate the through-going earthquake ruptures that have been inferred for the Ventura fault system. We therefore suggest that this and other décollements may be better represented using a velocity-weakening or conditionally stable response. Our results show that minor variations in fault geometry produce slip amounts and recurrence intervals that differ only by 10–20%, but do not fundamentally alter the types of earthquakes and interseismic slip. We conclude that geological constraints on fault geometry are typically sufficient to produce modeled earthquake sequences that are statistically consistent with paleoseismic records. However, both frictional parameters along the fault and effective normal stress influence earthquake rupture patterns significantly. • HACCS implementation is positively associated with healthy aging in China. • The association between HACCS and healthy aging varies among different age groups. • The association between HACCS and healthy aging differs in rural and urban areas. Home and community care service (HACCS) is an important policy response worldwide to the growing and unmet care needs of the aging population. In China, the government also started to implement a HACCS pilot program in 2016. This study aims to evaluate the association of HACCS utilization with healthy aging in Chinese older adults. This study followed a quasi-experimental design and derived data from the nationwide China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) in 2015 and 2018. We employed the propensity score matching with difference-in-difference approach (PSM-DID) to examine the association between HACCS and healthy aging indicators. A total of 8345 older adults were incorporated for a final sample. The results indicated that HACCS utilization was associated with significantly reduced functional limitations (β for BADL=-0.124, β for IADL=-0.210; P <0.01) and depression (β=-0.386, P <0.05) as well as improved cognitive function (β=0.609, P <0.001), life satisfaction (β=0.083, P <0.01) and social participation (β=0.105, P <0.01) in older people, although its association with reduced disability was non-significant (β=-0.005, P = 0.676). The heterogeneous tests further found that rural older adults and older adults aged<80 were more likely than their counterparts to benefit from the HACCS utilization in specific healthy aging indicators such as cognitive function. The implementation of the HACCS program benefited a range of healthy aging domains among older adults in China. This paper provides a thorough analysis of the storage structure of hive files and then proposes a new method for processing hive files independently of the Windows registry API and for achieving direct access. The method has the advantages of high priority and of preserving the computing environment. In particular, it is suitable for occasions when the hive files of the target operating system cannot be copied or directly loaded. This paper also presents a set of algorithms for key operations associated with hive files such as access, deletion, creation, and expansion. These operations are designed to be independent of the Windows API. Third-party developers can develop other specialized applications on the basis of this set of algorithms. A complete hivedit program to carry out the operations described above has been implemented. Abstract Radiation damage in materials is an important reliability issue in applications ranging from microelectronic devices to nuclear reactors. However, the influence of atomic structure and specifically topological constraints on the ion damage resistance of amorphous dielectrics has until recently been largely neglected. We have investigated the 120 keV He+ ion damage resistance for a series of amorphous hydrogenated silicon carbide (a-SiC:H) thin films. Changes in elemental composition and atomic structure induced by He+ ion irradiation were monitored using nuclear reaction analysis, Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy, transmission Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy while changes in mechanical properties were investigated using nanoindentation measurements. We show that for 120 keV He+ ion doses producing up to one displacement per atom, significant hydrogen loss, bond rearrangement, film shrinkage, and mechanical stiffening were induced for films with mean atomic coordination (〈 r 〉) ≤ 2.7, while comparatively minor changes were observed for films with 〈 r 〉 > 2.7. The observed radiation hardness threshold at 〈 r 〉 rad > 2.7 is above the theoretically predicted rigidity percolation threshold of 〈 r 〉 c = 2.4. Based on the observed elimination of terminal C H bonds and Si CH 2 Si linkages, the higher radiation hardness threshold is interpreted as evidence that these bonds are too weak to function as constraints in high-energy ion collisions. Eliminating these constraints increased 〈 r 〉 c to 2.7, in agreement with the observed 〈 r 〉 rad = 2.7. These results demonstrate the key role of topological constraints in ion damage resistance and provide additional criteria for the design of ion-damage-resistant amorphous materials. Abstract Heart failure (HF) has become an important social problem that seriously threatens human health due to its high morbidity and mortality. G Protein-Coupled Receptors Kinase 2 (GRK2), as a novel target of heart failure, is overexpressed in the pathogenesis and progression of HF. In this study, we conducted a multistep virtual screening process from the ZINC database to discover potential GRK2 inhibitors. First, by using 6 known GRK2 inhibitors with high bioactivity and diverse structures as the template molecules, 7499 compounds were obtained from ligand-based similarity screening by 4 types of fingerprints. Subsequently, these hits were further screened by three quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) models, which were built by 197 known GRK2 compounds and represented by two-dimensional MOE descriptors (MOE2D), molecular fragments (MACCS) and 2- dimensional pharmacophore (CATS) based on random forest algorithm, respectively. These hit compounds were then filtered by three molecular docking packages (MOE, GOLD and GLIDE) to improve the docking accuracy for avoid losing candidate compounds. The compounds with high docking scores were selected for the evaluation of absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADMET). Finally, 17 compounds were identified the binding affinity to GRK2 by using SPR assay, three of which were considered as novel GRK2 inhibitors, and their binding modes with GRK2 active sites were analyzed. As new potential GRK2 inhibitors, COM5(K D = 0.172 μM) and COM17(K D = 0.595 μM) with the KD value less than 1 μM could be directly used in the next study, while the remaining hit COM4 (K D = 4.72 μM) whose K D over 1 μM can be optimized into the required low nanomole range for further study. A novel covalent organic polymer (Salen-COP) based on Salen-type Schiff base was synthesized by one-pot protocol involving the self-condensation of 3-formyl-4-hydroxyphenylboronic acid and the subsequent aldehyde-amine condensation with benzene-1,2-diamine. The Salen-COP was characterized by 13C CP/MAS NMR, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction spectrometry analysis. The morphological features of Salen-COP were also analyzed using scanning electron microscopy. The Salen-COP exhibited the significant fluorescence enhancing for the sensing of Al3+, while the obtained polymer also exhibited the dramatic fluorescence quenching for the sensing of Fe3+ and Cu2+. The detection limits were calculated to be 0.248 µM for Salen-COP@Al3+, 0.545 µM for Salen-COP@Fe3+ and 0.140 µM for Salen-COP@Cu2+, respectively. Furthermore, the Salen-COP was founded to be a reversible chemosensor for Al3+, Fe3+ and Cu2+ ions, which provided a unique opportunity in the development of multi-response polymer-based sensors. A simple one-pot non-isocyanate route for synthesizing thermoplastic polyureas is presented. In situ urethanization was conducted from the ring-opening reaction of ethylene carbonate with poly(propylene glycol) bis(2-aminopropyl ether) and hexanediamine, m-xylylenediamine, or diethylene glycol bis(3-aminopropyl) ether at 100 °C for 6 h under normal pressure. Melt transurethane polycondensation was successively conducted at 170 °C under a reduced pressure of 399 Pa for different time periods. A series of nonisocyanate thermoplastic polyureas (NI-TPUreas) were prepared. The NI-TPUreas were characterized by gel permeation chromatography, FTIR, 1H-NMR, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, wide-angle X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy, and tensile test. NI-TPUreas exhibited Mn of up to 1.67 × 104 g/mol, initial decomposition temperature over 290 °C, and tensile strength of up to 32 MPa. Several crystallizable NI-TPUreas exhibited Tm exceeding 98 °C. Unc-51 like autophagy activating kinase 1 (Ulk1) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a key role in regulating autophagy processes. We attempted to investigate the effects of Ulk1 on traumatic brain injury (TBI) progression by using wild type (WT) mice and Ulk1-knockout (KO) mice suffered with or not TBI. The results were verified using LPS-treated primary astrocyte (AST). Here, Ulk1 was over-expressed in hippocampus of WT mice after TBI, as well as in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated AST. Ulk1-deletion improved cognitive ability and hippocampus histological changes in TBI mice. Nissl and neuronal nuclei (NeuN) staining indicated that Ulk1-deletion increased the number of surviving neurons in hippocampus of TBI mice. Ulk1-ablation alleviated neuroinflammation, as evidenced by the reduced expression of hippocampus pro-inflammatory cytokines in TBI mice. TBI-induced apoptosis was also ameliorated by Ulk1-ablation, as proved by the reduced number of TUNEL-staining cells, and cleaved Caspase-3 and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) expressions. Moreover, Ulk1-knockout suppressed TBI-stimulated activation of astrocytes and microglia cells. Additionally, hippocampus autophagy induced by TBI was attenuated by Ulk1-knockout. Further, TBI-activated p38/c-Jun N-terminal Kinase (JNK) pathway was repressed by Ulk1-deletion in hippocampus of mice. The findings above were confirmed in LPS-stimulated AST with or without Ulk1 siRNA transfection. Intriguingly, pre-treatment of p38 or JNK activator markedly abolished the anti-inflammation, anti-apoptosis and anti-autophagy effects of Ulk1-knockdown on LPS-incubated AST. The evolution of irradiation defects in Ti 2 AlC under Kr ion irradiation at room and elevated temperatures has been investigated. The dependence of defect size and density on the irradiation dose and temperature was characterized by in-situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM) irradiation experiments. At 25–800 °C, interstitial-type dislocation loops with several nanometers in diameter form on the basal plane of Ti 2 AlC mostly with a Burgers vector of 1/2[0 0 0 1], and no voids have been observed. The number density of dislocation loops approaches saturation at a level of about 2 dpa at 800 °C. Ti 2 AlC samples remain crystalline in structure without amorphization or phase transformation. However, the localized disorder of atomic positions on the basal plane of the irradiated Ti 2 AlC was revealed by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) studies, which increases with irradiation dose while decreases with elevated temperatures. Here, a new strategy for the preparation of aerogels for high-temperature gas filtration is reported. Firstly, a unique "grooved and secondary pore" structure polyaryl thioether sulfone (GPASS) nanofibers are initially fabricated using a combination of "wet" electrostatic spinning and aqueous etching. And then, the oxidized GPPASS aerogel (O-GPPASS) can be obtained through simple acid and freeze-dried treatment. It is found that the as-prepared aerogel exhibits high filtration efficiency of 99.7 % for PM0.3, accompanied by low pressure drop of 17.2 Pa, and high quality factor (QF) of 0.362 Pa−1. Remarkably, after enduring high-temperature conditions of 330.0 °C for 4.0 h, the O-GPPASS aerogel still maintains an impressive filtration performance, with a 99.6 % efficiency and a pressure drop of 17.6 Pa for PM0.3 particles. Introduction: Few prospective clinical trials have investigated the role of fasting blood glucose (FBG) and/or postprandial glucose (PPG) in assessing overall glycemic control by using different insulin regimens. In the present post hoc analysis, we assessed the contribution of FBG and/or PPG in overall glycemic control in Chinese patients under insulin treatment.Methods: CLASSIFY is a phase IV, randomized, open-label, 26-week, parallel-arm, treat-to-target, multinational, controlled study in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus to compare the efficacy and safety of insulin lispro mix 25 (LM25) and insulin lispro mix 50 (LM50) as starter insulins. Insulin was titrated with an aim to target pre-meal blood glucose (BG) levels at > 3.9 and ≤ 6.1 mmol/L before breakfast and dinner. The primary outcome assessed was the change in HbA1c from baseline.Results: Chinese patients contributed 38.7% (N = 156) of the total population. The majority of patients were male (52.6%). The mean (SD) body mass index was 24.54 (3.04) kg/m2 and mean (SD) HbA1c was 8.54 (1.10) % at baseline. At week 26, LM50 showed a significantly greater reduction from baseline in HbA1c (− 2.03% vs − 1.55%, P < 0.001), average daily BG (− 3.21 vs − 2.34 mmol/L, P < 0.001), average post-meal BG (− 3.58 vs − 2.39 mmol/L, P < 0.001), and average prandial BG excursion (− 1.01 vs − 0.22 mmol/L, P = 0.006) than the LM25 group. The reductions in average pre-meal BG (− 2.59 vs − 2.28 mmol/L, P = 0.137) were not significantly different between the groups. This article is devoted to the study of variable 2-microlocal Besov-type and Triebel-Lizorkin-type spaces. These variable function spaces are defined via a Fourier-analytical approach. The authors then characterize these spaces by means of ϕ-transforms, Peetre maximal functions, smooth atoms, ball means of differences and approximations by analytic functions. As applications, some related Sobolev-type embeddings and trace theorems of these spaces are also established. The microstructure and mechanical properties of amorphous silicon oxycarbide (SiOC) before and after irradiation were investigated using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS), nuclear reaction analysis and nano-indentation. SiOC films of different compositions were subjected 1 displacement per atom (dpa) He + irradiation. The irradiation results in a decrease of Si O Si bond angle and an increase of average coordination number. These microstructure variations are associated with increases of hardness and Young's modulus. Nuclear spin fluctuation suppression is a key issue in preserving electron coherence for quantum information/computation. We propose an efficient way of nuclear spin cooling in semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) by the coherent population trapping (CPT) and the electric dipole spin resonance (EDSR) induced by optical fields and ac electric fields. The EDSR can enhance the spin flip-flop rate and may bring out bistability under certain conditions. By tuning the optical fields, we can avoid the EDSR induced bistability and obtain highly polarized nuclear spin state, which results in long electron coherence time. The newly developed amorphous silicon oxycarbide (SiOC) and crystalline Fe composite system has shown radiation tolerance over a wide range of temperatures. To advance understanding of this new composite, we investigate the structure and thermal stability of the interface between amorphous SiOC and crystalline Fe by combining various experimental techniques and simulation methods. We show that the SiOC/Fe interface is thermally stable up to at least 400 °C. When the annealing temperature reaches 600 °C, an intermixed region forms at this interface. This region appears to be a crystalline phase that forms an incoherent interface with the Fe layer. Density functional theory (DFT) Molecular dynamics (MD) is performed on the homogeneous SiFeOC phase to study the early stages of formation of the intermixed layer. Both experimental and simulation results suggest this phase has the fayalite crystal structure. The physical processes involved in the formation of the intermixed region are discussed. • Antibacterial agents with uniform dispersion were successfully prepared. • Multi gradient nanofiber membrane was successfully fabricated. • It exhibited excellent air filtration performance (η = 99.63 ± 0.34 %, ΔP = 79.17 ± 1.07 Pa). • It showed outstanding antimicrobial and biocompatibility (D = 99.57 ± 1.04 %). Air pollution, especially tiny pollutant particles and harmful microorganisms, has become a serious environmental issue, bringing great damage to human body. Air filtration has been a widely used and effective method for air purification. However, the addition of antimicrobial agents usually leads to the agglomeration and the toxicity of the filter material. Here, a versatile poly (aryl sulfide sulfone)/graphene oxide@silver (PASS/GO@Ag) air filtration membrane was fabricated by in-situ reduction and electrospinning approach, resulting in high filtration efficiency and excellent biocompatibility. The results showed that GO@Ag antimicrobial agent was successfully synthetized. The Ag nanoparticles (NPs) on the GO surface not only increased the antimicrobial property but also reduced the agglomeration of the antimicrobial agent. Meanwhile, GO@Ag was wrapped on the surface of the PASS nanofibers by ultrasonication to form a rough surface to further improve the filtration efficiency. The as-prepared PASS/GO@Ag membrane exhibited high air filtration performance (99.63 ± 0.34 %, 79.17 ± 1.07 Pa). Besides, it also showed excellent antimicrobial properties and good biocompatibility. The antibacterial rates of Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) were 99.57 ± 1.04 % and 97.93 ± 1.31 %, respectively. More importantly, the PASS/GO@Ag membrane could endow long-term use for one month, with the antibacterial rates of E. coli and S. aureus of 96.52 ± 1.20 % and 94.48 ± 1.13 %, respectively. Hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) over the non-noble metal-based electrocatalysts is a promising approach to realize future clean energy economy. Herein, to achieve effective interface construction, epitaxial growth of NiS on the surface of one-dimensional (1D) Ni 3 S 2 nanowire on nickel foam (NF) was performed, to construct a Ni 3 S 2 /NiS electrocatalyst with a heterojunction structure via a solid-state phase transformation. Benefiting from the strong charge transfer at the Ni 3 S 2 /NiS heterojunction interface, the d-band center was downshifted compared to the single component (Ni 3 S 2 or NiS), which effectively optimized the valence state and the H adsorption of Ni, thus improved the HER activity. The obtained Ni 3 S 2 @NiS-250/NF showed the robust HER catalytic performance with a low overpotential of 129 mV to deliver the current density of 10 mA cm−2 with a small Tafel slope (75.5 mV dec-1) in 1 M KOH media.
