Im Rahmen des Projekts MINTplus wurde das Lehramtsstudium an der Technischen Universität Darmstadt mit Beginn des Wintersemesters 2017/18 neu strukturiert. Als innovatives Studienelement wurde der interdisziplinäre Vernetzungsbereich eingeführt. Durch die neuen Veranstaltungen aus diesem Studienbereich sollen die sonst nur nebeneinanderstehenden und jeweils in die Bereiche Fachwissenschaft und Fachdidaktik untergliederten Fächer sowie die Bildungswissenschaften miteinander verknüpft werden. Eine der neuen Veranstaltungen ist das Modul „Erkenntnisgewinnung in den Naturwissenschaften“, das im Folgeprojekt MINTplus2 konzipiert wurde. Der nachfolgende Beitrag stellt an der Entwicklung dieses Moduls exemplarisch dar, wie durch den Vernetzungsbereich eine strukturelle Voraussetzung geschaffen wurde, um kooperativ ein mit anderen Disziplinen abgestimmtes Modul zu konzipieren, dessen Thematik über die eigentlichen Fächergrenzen der verantwortlichen Person hinausgeht. Anknüpfend an das Thema dieses Heftes werden so Möglichkeiten einer interdisziplinären Vernetzung innerhalb der Lehrerbildung an einer Hochschule aufgezeigt, die dazu beitragen, einen Mehrwert für die Lehrerbildung zu generieren. Im Anschluss an die Darstellung des modularen Entwicklungsprozesses wird das Kurskonzept erläutert und ein Einblick in dessen bisherige Umsetzung gegeben. Anhand exemplarischer Zitate wird aufgezeigt, dass das intendierte Ziel der Vernetzung auch von den Studierenden wahrgenommen wurde., heiEDUCATION Journal. Internalizing the process and methods of scientific research is fundamental both for young people who are getting prepared to work as scientific researchers, as well as for those who participate in social discourses on scientific issues as responsible citizens. In addition, many current problems can not only be solved from a specialist perspective; interdisciplinary cooperation plays an important role in research and society. It is therefore important that teachers know teaching concepts that enable students to acquire competencies to be prepared for these challenges in life. To implement this, a new pre-service teacher study curriculum was developed as part of the MINTplus2 (engl. STEMplus2) project at TU Darmstadt, which conveys interdisciplinary teaching approaches, especially about STEM. As a part of this project, we developed a new seminar which focusses especially on didactic concepts like inquiry-based learning in order to prepare pre-service science teachers to convey their students the methodological knowledge of the scientific research process. This paper shows the seminar structure embedded in the whole project and the first evaluation results with n=14 concept maps of seven students that show that there is a measurable increase in knowledge regarding the seminar topic.

This article reports the development of a two-tier simple electric circuits test (2T-SEC Test). Simple electric circuits are introduced to students early in their school years and are an important part of the physics curriculum all the way to the university level. However, many students do not develop an adequate conceptual understanding of simple electric circuits and especially of electrical voltage. For this reason, six physics education research groups from Germany and Austria started a large study to evaluate and improve middle-school students’ conceptual understanding of simple electric circuits. As a first step, we developed the test instrument presented in this article. First, nine semistructured interviews were conducted with middle-school students in Austria. The interviews were transcribed, analyzed and (common) student difficulties with simple electric circuits were identified. Second, based on the results from the interviews and previous research on this topic, an instrument consisting of 25 two-tier multiple-choice items was developed and administered to N=1568 middle-school students in Austria and Germany. Third, the data were evaluated using Rasch analysis. The item reliability of the test was 0.99, while the person reliability of paired scoring was 0.62 and the reliability of separate scoring was 0.75. The average difficulties of the main concepts regarding simple electric circuits (open and closed circuits, electric current, resistance, series and parallel circuits, and electrical voltage) were calculated and compared. The analysis suggests that the concept of voltage is most difficult for students while distinguishing between open and closed circuits is the easiest.

Trotz der enormen Bedeutung der Elektrizität für unser heutiges Leben wird der Unterricht zur elementaren Elektrizitätslehre von den Lernenden häufig als abstrakt und wenig interessant wahrgenommen, inhaltliche Lernziele werden zudem vielfach nicht erreicht. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird im Rahmen des Gesamtprojekts EPo-EKo ein kontextbasiertes Unterrichtskonzept zu einfachen Stromkreisen entwickelt („EKo-Konzept“). Anknüpfend an Vorarbeiten im Projekt werden in dem erstellten Schulbuch Kontexte wie „elektrische Fische“ oder „Geoelektrik“ behandelt, um das Interesse von Mädchen und Jungen gleichermaßen zu fördern. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Teilstudien des Gesamtprojekts EPo-EKo orientieren sich die in der EKo-Teilstudie entwickelten Materialien an der Sachstruktur des traditionellen Elektrizitätslehreunterrichts. Im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts soll die Frage beantwortet werden, inwiefern Unterricht auf Basis des kontextstrukturierten Unterrichtskonzepts bei den Lernenden mit einem höheren Interesse und einem besseren konzeptionellen Verständnis einhergeht. Der Artikel stellt neben der Einbettung in das Gesamtprojekt EPo-EKo und in den aktuellen Stand der Forschung hierzu das Forschungsdesign und konkrete Beispiele für verwendete Kontexte vor. It has been shown repeatedly that students’ understanding of physics concepts often remains fragmentary, even after traditional instruction. Against this background, a STACK-based digital learning environment has been designed, that can be used as an online course to enrich physics lectures for engineering students at TU Darmstadt. This course serves two main purposes: First, as an analytic aspect of the project, data on the students’ perspective and knowledge at the start of the semester is collected. This data can be useful to inform topic selection and pedagogical approaches for the lecture to better address the challenges that they face. Second, as a supporting aspect of the project, a differentiated learning opportunity is offered for self-study during the semester in a blended-learning format of the course in addition to the lecture.

Ein Ziel des binationalen Projektes „Elektrizitätslehre mit Potenzial Elektrizitätslehre mit Kontexten“ (EPo-EKo) besteht darin, den Elektrizitätslehreunterricht in der Sek I lernwirksamer und interessanter zu gestalten. Im Vorjahr wurde deshalb zunächst das Frankfurter Unterrichtskonzept auf Basis des Elektronengasmodells weiterentwickelt. Ein Unterricht auf Basis dessen erwies sich als lernförderlicher als der traditionelle Unterricht der Stichprobe. Das Konzept selbst ist jedoch rein fachsystematisch ausgelegt. Spätestens seit den KMK-Beschlüssen wird jedoch eine stärkere Kontextorientierung im Physikunterricht angestrebt. Vor dem Hintergrund, dass bisher kein kontextorientiertes Unterrichtskonzept existiert, welches die Einführung des einfachen Stromkreises umfassend abdeckt und empirisch evaluiert ist, wurde im Rahmen des EPo-EKo-Projektes ein kontextstrukturiertes Unterrichtskonzept auf Basis der Sachstruktur des bereits erfolgreichen Frankfurter Unterrichtskonzepts entwickelt. Indem die jeweiligen fachlichen Inhalte an möglichst interessanten und authentischen Fragestellungen erarbeitet werden, dabei aber auf die bewährte Sachstruktur des Frankfurter Unterrichtskonzepts zurückgegriffen wird, soll das Interesse und das konzeptionelle Verständnis der Lernenden gleichermaßen gefördert werden. Interest is not only regarded a prerequisite for learning motivation but also an educational objective. There is however a major concern regarding the decline during students school career which has been observed frequently [1]. Therefore, in general education and particularly in physics education great importance is attached to fostering students interest and a lot of research has been conducted in this regard. To measure students interest, a number of well-established research scales are available for German-speaking countries, which are primarily based on two constructs of interest. One common construct by Hoffmann, Häußler and Lehrke differentiates between the interest that students show in physical contents and their interest in physics as a school subject [2, 3]. In addition, another construct by Krapp widely used in educational psychology distinguishes between the emotional- and value-related significance of an activity or its content [4]. So far, these two constructs have largely been used unrelated. For the study presented in this paper, they have been connected resulting in four different combinations of emotional and value-related significance attributed to physical contents and physics lessons. These constitute four possible scales which have been integrated in a questionnaire and evaluated in a sample of N = 1529 high school students. An exploratory as well as a confirmatory factor analysis has been performed to test the assumed theoretical structure of the underlying constructs. Our data suggests that a revision of the combined scales is necessary as two of the four coincide: all items including emotional valences load on one factor only, while items with value-related valences are distinguishable between interest in physical contents (factor two) and interest in physics lessons (factor three). Im Design-Based-Research-Projekt EKo Elektrizitätslehre in Kontexten (Untersuchungsstrang von EPo-EKo) wurde auf Grundlage fachdidaktischer Entwicklungsarbeit kontextstrukturiertes Unterrichtsmaterial für die Elektrizitätslehre in der Sekundarstufe I erstellt. Thematisch orientieren sich die Kontexte an den Erkenntnissen zu den Interessen Lernender (IPN, ROSE und Vorstudie IDa). Im Sinne eines multiperspektivischen Ansatzes werden nicht nur die Interessen der Lernenden, sondern auch die Rückmeldungen von Lehrkräften zu den Materialien berücksichtigt. Die Integration ihrer Expertise und Praxiserfahrungen ist sowohl vor der Erprobung als auch nach Einsatz im Unterricht wesentlich. Im Sinne von Design-Based-Research kann somit ein Re-Design des Unterrichtsmaterials in mehreren Durchgängen stattfinden, um die Akzeptanz auf Lehrkraftseite und die Wirksamkeit bei den Lernenden zu steigern. Im ersten Anpassungsdurchgang wurde vor der Materialerprobung eine Fortbildung mit N = 58 Physiklehrkräften durchgeführt, die differenziertes Feedback zu sechs ausgewählten kontextstrukturierten Arbeitsmaterialien lieferte. Die größte Stärke der EKo-Materialien sehen die Lehrkräfte in der möglichen Steigerung des Interesses und der Motivation durch die gewählten Kontextthemen sowie in der ansprechenden Gestaltung der Materialien. Eine Überarbeitung hinsichtlich der Textlänge und damit einhergehend der Bearbeitungszeit sei jedoch erforderlich. 85 % der Lehrkräfte, welche den Fragebogen am Ende der Fortbildung beantwortet haben, geben an, das Material (zum Teil mit kleinen Abänderungen) im eigenen Unterricht einsetzen zu wollen.
