Abstract Background Chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 8 (CCR8) is a chemokine receptor selectively expressed on tumor-infiltrating regulatory T cells (Tregs). Strong immunosuppression mediated by CCR8+ Tregs observed in breast and lung malignancies suggest for their functional significance in cancer therapy. To date, detailed characterization of tumor-infiltrating CCR8+ Tregs cells in colorectal cancer (CRC) is limited. Methods To study the presence and functional involvement of CCR8+ Tregs in CRC, we analyzed the proportions of CCR8-expressing T cells in different T cell subsets in tumor and adjacent normal tissues and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from CRC patients by Flow cytometry. Also, we compared the distribution of CCR8+ T cells in malignant tissues and peripheral lymphoid organs from a subcutaneous CRC murine model. Bioinformatic analysis was performed to address the significance of CCR8 expression levels in CRC prognosis, immune regulatory gene expression profiles and potential molecular mechanisms associated with CCR8+ Tregs in CRC tumors. Abstract Background Pamiparib is a potent, selective, poly (ADP‐ribose) polymerase 1/2 inhibitor that demonstrates synthetic lethality in cells with breast cancer susceptibility gene mutations or other homologous recombination deficiency. This two‐stage phase 1b study (NCT03150810) assessed pamiparib in combination with temozolomide (TMZ) in adult patients with histologically confirmed locally advanced and metastatic solid tumors. Methods Oral pamiparib 60 mg was administered twice daily. During the dose‐escalation stage, increasing doses of TMZ (40–120 mg once daily pulsed or 20–40 mg once daily continuous) were administered to determine the recommended dose to be administered in the dose‐expansion stage. The primary objectives were to determine safety and tolerability, maximum tolerated/administered dose, recommended phase 2 dose and schedule, and antitumor activity of pamiparib in combination with TMZ. Pharmacokinetics of pamiparib and TMZ and biomarkers were also assessed. Results Across stages, 139 patients were treated (dose escalation, n = 66; dose expansion, n = 73). The maximum tolerated dose of TMZ, which was administered during dose expansion, was 7‐day pulsed 60 mg once daily. The most common treatment‐emergent adverse events (TEAEs) were anemia (dose escalation, 56.1%; dose expansion, 63.0%), nausea (dose escalation, 54.5%; dose expansion, 49.3%), and fatigue (dose escalation, 48.5%; dose expansion, 47.9%). In the dose‐escalation stage, four patients experienced dose‐limiting toxicities (three neutropenia and one neutrophil count decreased). No TEAEs considered to be related to study drug treatment resulted in death. Antitumor activity was modest, indicated by confirmed overall response rate (dose escalation, 13.8%; dose expansion, 11.6%), median progression‐free survival (3.7 and 2.8 months), and median overall survival (10.5 and 9.2 months). Administration of combination therapy did not notably impact pamiparib or TMZ pharmacokinetics. Conclusions Pamiparib in combination with TMZ had a manageable safety profile. Further investigation of the efficacy of this combination in tumor types with specific DNA damage repair deficiencies is warranted.

Carbonation resistance ability is one of the most important durability-related proprieties of cement-based materials. Through the carbonation depth experiment, isothermal conduction calorimetry, XRD, BET, and water vapor sorption, the effect of calcium nitrite (Ca(NO3)2) on the carbonation properties of cement-based materials is obtained. The result indicates that the addition of Ca(NO3)2 improves the carbonation resistance property of cement-based materials if the hydration of cement pastes and microstructure is modified earlier without affecting the late hydration process. In addition, the refined pores and higher tortuosity cut down the channels, thereby impeding the ingress of carbon dioxide gas into cementitious materials, as confirmed by BET and water vapor sorption. The Ca(NO3)2 exhibits high performance in improving the carbonation resistance and extending the life of strengthened concrete.

Summary: The repetitive applications of vaccine boosters have been brought up in face of continuous emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants with neutralization escape mutations, but their protective efficacy and potential adverse effects remain largely unknown. Here, we compared the humoral and cellular immune responses of an extended course of recombinant receptor binding domain (RBD) vaccine boosters with those from conventional immunization strategy in a Balb/c mice model. Multiple vaccine boosters after the conventional vaccination course significantly decreased RBD-specific antibody titers and serum neutralizing efficacy against the Delta and Omicron variants, and profoundly impaired CD4+ and CD8+T cell activation and increased PD-1 and LAG-3 expressions in these T cells. Mechanistically, we confirmed that extended vaccination with RBD boosters overturned the protective immune memories by promoting adaptive immune tolerance. Our findings demonstrate potential risks with the continuous use of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine boosters, providing immediate implications for the global COVID-19 vaccination enhancement strategies.

Neutralizing antibodies are currently one versatile strategy to treat SARS-CoV-2 infection. Here, Li et al. characterize three monoclonal antibodies neutralizing authentic virus infection in vitro and in vivo by targeting the receptor binding domain as evidenced by Cryo-EM.

Currently, neutralizing antibody and vaccine strategies have been developed by targeting the SARS-CoV-2 strain identified during the early phase of the pandemic. Early studies showed that the ability of SARS-CoV-2 RBD or NTD antibodies to elicit infection enhancement in vivo is still controversial. There are growing concerns that the plasma and neutralizing antibodies from convalescent patients or people receiving vaccines mediate ADE of SARS-CoV-2 variants infections in immune cells. Here, we constructed engineered double-mutant variants containing an RBD mutation and D614G in the spike (S) protein and natural epidemic variants to gain insights into the correlation between the mutations in S proteins and the ADE activities and tested whether convalescent plasma and TOP10 neutralizing antibodies in our laboratory mediated the ADE effects of these SARS-CoV-2 variants. We found that one out of 29 convalescent plasma samples caused the ADE effect of pandemic variant B.1.1.7 and that the ADE effect of wild-type SARS-CoV-2 was not detected for any of these plasma samples. Only one antibody, 55A8, from the same batch of convalescent patients mediated the ADE effects of multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants in vitro, including six double-mutant variants and four epidemic variants, suggesting that ADE activities may be closely related to the antibody itself and the SARS-CoV-2 variants' S proteins. Moreover, the ADE activity of 55A8 depended on FcγRII on immune cells, and the introduction of LALA mutations at the Fc end of 55A8 eliminated the ADE effects in vitro, indicating that 55A8LALA may be a clinical drug used to prevent SARS-CoV-2 variants. Altogether, ADE may occur in rare convalescent patients or vaccinees with ADE-active antibodies who are then exposed to a SARS-CoV-2 variant. These data suggested that potential neutralizing antibodies may need to undergo ADE screening tests for SARS-CoV-2 variants, which should aid in the future design of effective antibody-based therapies.

Integral hydrophobic treatment is the most effective method to prolong the service life of the concrete by resisting the transport of water containing aggressive ions. The hydrophobicity phenomenon of cementitious materials with carboxylic acid type admixture has been presented, and experimental studies, including water adsorption, amount of hydration products, and pore system, are conducted to reveal the hydrophobicity mechanism. It is reported that cementitious materials containing hydrophobic admixture present excellent water resistance ability, and the experimental results of nitrogen adsorption isotherm show that carboxylic acid type admixture addition increases pore volume and surface area of cement pastes. In addition, the fractal geometry theory is applied to reveal the relation between the pore structure and the permeability coefficient of cement pastes with a hydrophobic agent. In conclusion, the high tortuosity fractal dimension and the hydrophobicity of the pore surface result in water resistance when the cementitious system is mixed with a new type of hydrophobic admixture.

Abstract Despite the widespread use of malaria rapid diagnostic test (RDT) in clinical practice, there are a lot of challenges. We conducted a secondary analysis of 129 malaria RDT data from rounds 5–8 of the World Health Organization (WHO) product testing summary and discuss the causes of false-negative (FN) results with a focus on low parasite density, improper RDT storage, operation and interpretation, and plasmodium falciparum with a pfhrp2/3 gene deletion. The results demonstrated that the malaria RDTs currently commercially available might cause FN results in practice.

Coarse-Grained Reconfigurable Architectures (CGRAs) are a promising solution to domain-specific applications for their energy efficiency and flexibility. To improve performance on CGRA, modulo scheduling is commonly adopted on Data Dependence Graph (DDG) of loops by minimizing the Initiation Interval (II) between adjacent loop iterations. The mapping process usually consists of scheduling and placement-and-routing (P&R). As existing approaches don’t fully and globally explore the routing strategies of the long dependencies in a DDG at the scheduling stage, the following P&R is prone to failure leading to performance loss. To this end, this paper proposes a routability-enhanced scheduling for CGRA mapping using Integer Linear Programming (ILP) formulation, where a global optimized scheduling could be found to improve the success rate of P&R. Experimental results show that our approach achieves $1.12\times $ and $1.22\times $ performance speedup, 28.7% and 50.2% compilation time reduction, as compared to 2 state-of-the-art heuristics.

Although smart construction tools are already assisting the construction sector, still major reforms are considerably seen in the coming years with Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). The purpose of this work was to develop a down-to-earth reliable edge-computing design and plan, which can be utilized to bolster savvy development situations with high quality of service. The number of devices connected to industrial processes is growing in tandem with the advancement of sophisticated technologies and the use of the AIoT. Big data are created as gadgets grow more integrated and need more computing power. However, as the amount of big data generated grows, processing and analytical issues arise. Cloud computing technologies are now being used to solve processing and analytical challenges. However, by using edge computing technologies, greater emphasis is placed on executing calculations as near to the device as feasible. As a result of these facts, this article suggests the arrangement plan, which depends on the most recent cloud and computer program designing approaches and advances, and gives flexibility, interoperability, and adjustment to construction companies' particular needs.

This thorough QT (TQT) study evaluated the effect of zanubrutinib on electrocardiogram (ECG) parameters by using concentration‐QTc (C‐QTc) analysis as the primary analysis for this study. Part A of the study determined the safety and tolerability of a single supratherapeutic dose of zanubrutinib (480 mg) in healthy volunteers. Part B was a randomized, blinded, placebo‐controlled and positive‐controlled, four‐way crossover, TQT study of single therapeutic (160 mg) and supratherapeutic (480 mg) doses of zanubrutinib, placebo, and open‐label moxifloxacin 400 mg. Thirty‐two participants received at least 1 dose of zanubrutinib, and 26 participants completed all 4 periods. Zanubrutinib did not have any effect on heart rate or cardiac conduction (pulse rate, QRS interval, or T‐wave morphology) and was generally well‐tolerated. Using C‐QTc analysis, the predicted placebo‐corrected change‐from‐baseline QT interval using Fridericia’s formula (ΔΔQTcF) was −3.4 msec (90% confidence interval: −4.9 to −1.9 msec) at peak concentrations of the 480 mg dose. A QT effect (ΔΔQTcF) exceeding 10 msec could be excluded within the observed concentration range at 160 and 480 mg doses. Assay sensitivity was established by moxifloxacin with 90% lower bound exceeding 5 msec. Implementing a C‐QTc analysis prospectively in this TQT study resulted in a substantially smaller sample size to maintain a similar study power as shown in the traditional time‐point analysis. A single 160‐mg or 480‐mg zanubrutinib dose did not prolong the QTc interval or have any other clinically relevant effects on ECG parameters.

Facing the imminent need for vaccine candidates with cross-protection against globally circulating severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) mutants, we present a conserved antigenic peptide RBD9.1 with both T-cell and B-cell epitopes. RBD9.1 can be recognized by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) convalescent serum, particularly for those with high neutralizing potency. Immunization with RBD9.1 can successfully induce the production of the receptor-binding domain (RBD)-specific antibodies in Balb/c mice. Importantly, the immunized sera exhibit sustained neutralizing efficacy against multiple dominant SARS-CoV-2 variant strains, including B.1.617.2 that carries a point mutation (SL452R) within the sequence of RBD9.1. Specifically, SY451 and SY454 are identified as the key amino acids for the binding of the induced RBD-specific antibodies to RBD9.1. Furthermore, we have confirmed that the RBD9.1 antigenic peptide can induce a S448-456 (NYNYLYRLF)-specific CD8+ T-cell response. Both RBD9.1-specific B cells and the S448-456-specific T cells can still be activated more than 3 months post the last immunization. This study provides a potential vaccine candidate that can generate long-term protective efficacy over SARS-CoV-2 variants, with the unique functional mechanism of activating both humoral and cellular immunity.

Steel corrosion is major reason of the deterioration of reinforced concrete structures. Decreasing the transportation of erosion ions in concrete is one of effective methods to protect the steel from corrosion. In the present work, a novel nano-hydrophobic admixture is introduced to improve the ion-diffusion properties and the corrosion resistance of reinforced steel. Compared with unmodified concrete, the nano-hydrophobic admixture effectively decreases the water adsorption, water evaporation, and chloride ions transport in a concrete structure, and then improved the concrete’s durability. The concrete’s water adsorption decreased more than 78%, and the initial corrosion time of reinforced steel is prolonged more than one time by treatment with the nano-hydrophobic admixture. The inhibition penetration of the medium in concrete modified by hydrophobic nanoparticles is the key to provide the protective properties of steel reinforcement from chloride erosion.

Physical salt attack (PSA) is one of the dominant durability issues of cement-based materials, where salt crystallization pressure is the driving force inducing damage. However, research on the temperature-related deterioration behavior of cement-based materials is limited. In this study, salt-contaminated cement mortars were rewetted at different temperatures. The assessment criteria were based on the visual appearance, weight evolution and size distribution of scaled materials, and the alterations in the microstructure were investigated by microscopy, thermal and mineralogical analyses. The results indicated that more severe damage developed at 5 °C than that at 20 °C due to the greater crystallization pressure caused by the conversion from thenardite (Na2SO4) to mirabilite (Na2SO4·10H2O) at the lower temperature. No damage was observed at 35 °C, since the repeated dissolution and re-crystallization of thenardite were harmless for the specimens. In addition, two distinct damage patterns were observed for PSA performed at 5 °C and 20 °C, namely, granular disintegration and contour scaling.

This paper has presented a novel method for the synthesis of regular and reproductive ZnO nanostructures by microwave heating. Unlike the previous studies, it has focused on ZnO nanostructures grown on the Si wafer used as a cover rather than on the precursor top and the results show that ZnO nanostructures with different shapes depending on the amount of mixture and the position in the Si wafer grow on the regular and reproductive basis. In the center of the Si wafer, short and coarse ZnO nanorods have grown, and on the outer edges, the structure of bundles consisting of ZnO nanorods with much longer lengths and smaller diameters has been synthesized. Morphology of ZnO nanorods was characterized by using scanning electron microscope and the nanorods grown on the outer edges had a mean diameter of 200 nm and were up to 1 0 0 μ m long. In order to elucidate the growth mechanism of nanorods, we have carried out SEM, energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) and XRD characterization, which shows that ZnO nanorods have grown according to VLS mechanism. A controllable growth method of ZnO nanoneedle is suggested. Zinc Oxide powder and graphite mixed in suitable proportions were placed in an alumina crucible, covered with silicon wafer and subjected to microwave heating. Objectives To analyze the curative effect of TiRobot surgical robotic navigation and location system‐assisted percutaneous sacroiliac screw fixation and percutaneous sacroiliac screw by traditional fluoroscopy, and to summarize the safety and benefits of TiRobot. Methods A total of 91 patients with pelvic posterior ring fractures from December 2015 to February 2018 were included in this study. According to the surgical methods selected by the patients, the patients were divided into a TiRobot surgical robotic navigation and location system group (TiRobot group) and a percutaneous sacroiliac screw fixation group (traditional group). Statistical indicators included the number of sacroiliac screws, the time of planning the sacroiliac screw path, fluoroscopy frequency, fluoroscopy time, operation time, length of incision, blood loss, anesthesia time, the healing process of skin incisions, and fracture healing time. Fracture reduction was evaluated according to the maximum displacement degree at the inlet and outlet view X‐ray or CT. Matta standard was used to evaluate fracture reduction. At the last follow‐up, the Majeed function system was used to evaluate the function. Results All patients were followed up for 8 to 32 months. A total of 66 sacroiliac screws were implanted in the TiRobot group. A total of 43 sacroiliac screws were implanted in the traditional group. There were statistically significant differences in terms of fluoroscopy frequency, fluoroscopy time, operation time, incision length, anesthesia time, and blood loss between the two groups; the TiRobot group was superior to the traditional group. The healing time of the TiRobot group and the traditional group was 4.61 ± 0.68 months (range, 3.5–6.3 months) and 4.56 ± 0.78 months (range, 3.4–6.2 months), respectively, and there was no statistical difference. Postoperatively, by Matta standard, the overall excellent and good rate of fracture reduction was 89.28% and 88.57%, respectively. At the last follow‐up, by Majeed function score, the overall excellent and good rate was 91.07% and 91.43%. There was no statistical difference between the two groups. Conclusion Sacroiliac screw implantation assisted by TiRobot to treat the posterior pelvic ring fractures has the characteristics of less trauma, shorter operation time, and less blood loss. TiRobot has the characteristics of high safety and accuracy and has great clinical application value.

After the pandemic of COVID-19, neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) against SARS-CoV-2 have been developed for the prophylactic and therapeutic purposes. However, few methodologies are described in detail on how to rapidly and efficiently generate effective NAbs to SARS-CoV-2. Here, we integrated and optimized a strategically screening method for NAbs, which has enabled us to obtain SARS-CoV-2 receptor-binding domain (RBD) specific NAbs within 6 days, followed by additional 9 days for antibody production and function analysis. Using this method, we obtained 198 specific Abs against SARS-CoV-2 RBD from the blood samples of COVID-19 convalescent patients, and 96 of them showed neutralizing activity. At least 20% of these NAbs exhibited advanced neutralizing potency and high affinity, with the top two NAbs showing half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) to block authentic SARS-CoV-2 at 9.88 and 11.13 ng/ml, respectively. Altogether, our study provides an effective methodology with high applicable value for discovering potential preventative and therapeutic NAbs for the emerging infectious diseases.

The damage development trend of concrete with cracks in salt-freezing environment is systematically studied. The cracks are also tested in intact concrete for comparison, and crack characterization is introduced. The mass loss, the relative dynamic elastic modulus, and the change of crack width are analyzed. Results show that the crack width increases as the salt-freezing cycle progresses. Following the development trend of the cracks, concrete cracks can be divided into three categories: 0–40, 40–100, and 100–150 μm. The mass loss increases significantly, and the change of relative dynamic elastic modulus decreases in concrete with an initial crack compared with the intact concrete. When the crack width is 80 μm, a maximum mass loss rate of 0.19% and a minimum relative dynamic elastic modulus of 75.81% can be obtained. These test results prove that crack and freeze-thaw coupling can influence each other and accelerate the failure of concrete. Overall, this study can serve as a basis for the durability design and life improvement of concrete structures.

Abstract Background Ischemic stroke-induced neuroinflammation is mainly mediated by microglial cells. The nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) pathway is the key transcriptional pathway that initiates inflammatory responses following cerebral ischemia. OTULIN, a critical negative regulator of the NF-κΒ signaling pathway, exerts robust effects on peripheral immune cell-mediated inflammation and is regarded as an essential mediator for repressing inflammation in vivo. The effect of OTULIN on inflammatory responses in the central nervous system (CNS) was previously unstudied. This current study investigated the anti-inflammatory effect of OTULIN both in vitro and in vivo in ischemic stroke models. Methods Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were subjected to transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO) or an intraperitoneal injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Overexpression of the OTULIN gene was utilized to observe the effect of OTULIN on ischemic stroke outcomes. The effect of OTULIN overexpression on microglia-mediated neuroinflammation was examined in rat primary microglia (PM) and in the microglial cell line N9 after induction by oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD)-treated neuronal medium. The activation and inflammatory responses of microglia were detected using immunofluorescence, ELISA, and qRT-PCR. The details of molecular mechanism were assessed using Western blotting. Results In the tMCAO rats, the focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury induced a continuous increase in OTULIN expression within 72 h, and OTULIN expression was increased in activated microglial cells. OTULIN overexpression obviously decreased the cerebral infarct volume, improved the neurological function deficits, and reduced neuronal loss at 72 h after reperfusion, and it also inhibited the activation of microglia and attenuated the release of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 by suppressing the NF-κB pathway at 24 h after tMCAO. In vitro, OTULIN overexpression inhibited the microglia-mediated neuroinflammation by reducing the production of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 via depressing the NF-κB pathway in both PM and N9 cells. Conclusions OTULIN provides a potential therapeutic target for ischemic brain injury by ameliorating the excessive activation of microglial cells and neuroinflammation through repressing the NF-κB signaling pathway.

Durability improvement is always important for steel–concrete structures exposed to chloride salt environment. The present research investigated the influence of a novel nano-precursor inhibiting material (NPI), organic carboxylic acid ammonium salt, on the mechanical and transport properties of concrete. The NPI caused a slight reduction in the strength of concrete at later ages. NPI significantly decreased water absorption and slowed down the speed of water absorption of concrete. In addition, the NPI decreased the charge passed and the chloride migration coefficient, and the results of the natural chloride diffusion showed that the NPI decreased the chloride concentration and the chloride diffusion coefficient. The NPI effectively improved the resistance of chloride penetration into testing concrete. The improvement in the impermeability of concrete was ascribed to the incorporation with the NPI, which resulted in increasing the contact angle of cement pastes. The contact angle went up from 17.8° to 85.8° for 0% and 1.2% NPI, respectively, and cement pastes became less hydrophilic. Some small pore throats were unconnected. Besides, the NPI also optimized the pore size distribution of hardened cement paste.

Objective: This study was initiated to investigate the effects of Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) surgery on hepatic glucose metabolism and hepatic expression of protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) in obese rats. Methods: Body weight, glucose, intraperitoneal glucose, insulin, and pyruvate tolerance tests were performed pre- and postoperatively, and plasma lipid, insulin and glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) were measured. The mRNA levels of G6Pase, Pepck, Gsk-3β and Gys-2, and the expression levels of PTP1B mRNA, protein, and other components of the insulin signaling pathway were measured by using RT-PCR and western blotting. The intracellular localization of PTP1B and hepatic glycogen deposition was also observed. Results: RYGB surgery-treated rats showed persistent weight loss, significantly improved glucose tolerance, pyruvate tolerance, and dyslipidemia, as well as increased insulin sensitivity, hepatic glycogen deposition and increased plasma GLP-1 in obese rats. RT-PCR analyses showed Pepck, G6Pase, and Gsk-3β mRNA to be significantly decreased, and Gys-2 mRNA to be significantly increased in liver tissue in the RYGB group (p Conclusion: RYGB can improve hepatic glucose metabolism and down-regulate PTP1B in obese rats. An increased circulating GLP-1 concentration may be correlated with the effects following RYGB in obese rats.

The accumulation of heat in electronic devices puts forward an urgent demand for thermal interface materials. It is still a great challenge to achieve the good comprehensive performance of high thermal conductivity (TC), insulation, flexibility and tensile strength. In this work, polyester‐based nonwoven fabric (NWF) was coated with boron nitride nanosheets (BNNS) by dispersion and interfacial reinforcement of cellulose nanofibers to obtain a three‐dimensional thermally conductive network skeleton (BNNS@NWF). The sandwich‐structured composite film was assembled by introducing alumina (Al2O3)/polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) layers on the top and bottom surfaces of BNNS@NWF using scratch coating and hot pressing processes. The composite film has a high TC of 6.42 W/mK at 45.8 wt% BNNS content, and has excellent insulation with a volume resistivity of 1.06 × 1015 Ω cm. This is due to the long‐range effective thermal conduction path constructed by BNNS, the bridging effect of Al2O3 and the synergistic effect of the two fillers. PDMS helps the composite film maintain good flexibility and good TC stability after 30 bending cycles. The PET nonwoven interlayer gives the composite film good mechanical properties with a tensile strength of 17.5 MPa. This work provides a strategy for the efficient preparation of flexible composite films with high TC and insulation properties, which is of great importance for the development of innovative thermal interface materials. Background: A Chinese medical team managed Ebola virus disease (EVD) patients in Sierra Leone from October 2014 to March 2015 and attended to 693 suspected patients, of whom 288 had confirmed disease. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted of the 288 patients with confirmed disease. Clinical symptoms, manifestations, and serum viral load were analyzed and compared among the different groups for mortality and survival time. Results: Among the 288 confirmed EVD patients (149 male and 139 female, median age 28 years, and median log viral load 6.68), 98 died, 36 recovered, and 154 were lost to follow-up. Common symptoms were fever (77.78%), fatigue (64.93%), abdominal pain (64.58%), headache (62.85%), and diarrhea (61.81%).
