Bullying and cyberbullying significantly threaten the development and mental health of both victims and perpetrators. This study aimed to analyze the associations between socioeconomic characteristics, personal experiences of violence, perceived social support from peers, and acceptance of violence and (cyber)bullying perpetration. The study involved 1146 secondary school students, consisting of 698 females and 448 males, aged 13 to 16. Prevalence ratios (PRs) were calculated using Poisson regression with robust variance. The results indicated that 12.32% of girls and 18.97% of boys reported engaging in bullying and/or cyberbullying. The likelihood of perpetration was lower among adolescents who had not experienced physical and/or sexual abuse before age 15, but higher among those in romantic relationships who had been victims of dating violence or had experienced (cyber)bullying victimization. Additionally, perceived social support from classmates was associated with a lower likelihood of becoming a perpetrator, whereas acceptance of violence was positively associated with (cyber)bullying perpetration. Preventing adolescents from becoming perpetrators of bullying and/or cyberbullying requires early intervention to prevent all forms of violence in childhood and adolescence, as well as bolstering personal and environmental resources by providing social support. - Abstract
The paper explores the content of 61 video capsules, presenting stories about unhealthy relationships invented, performed and filmed by 534 adolescents, from Spain, Portugal, Romania and Italy. The purpose is to analyse, through a thematic analysis of the video capsules, youth perspectives on what factors, myths and beliefs turn healthy relationships into unhealthy relationships, and what positive assets are managed to solve them. The results show common youth's perspectives on the idealization of romantic love, based on gender stereotypes, identified as a common characteristic of unhealthy relationships. Individuality is misinterpreted as a threat to the stability of dating relationships. Positive assets used by victims to face dating violence (DV) are assertiveness, communication abilities and management of emotions, whereas offenders used assertiveness, empathy and critical thinking. The paper debates the efficacy of intervention programs combining youth positive development and DV prevention approaches based on filmmaking.

- Abstract
Bullying and cyberbullying victimization are significant factors that threaten adolescent development and mental health. Our study aimed to analyze how socioeconomic characteristics and personal experiences of violence are associated with adolescents’ experiences of bullying and cyberbullying victimization. The study participants were 1146 students, 698 females and 448 males, aged between 13 and 16 years old, from secondary schools in Spain, Italy, Romania, Portugal, Poland and the UK. Data was collected through an online questionnaire. Prevalence ratios (PR) were calculated using Poisson regression with robust variance. In total, 37.2% of girls and 35.0% of boys reported being victims of bullying and or cyberbullying. The likelihood of bullying and or cyberbullying victimization was higher when adolescents had experienced physical and or sexual abuse before the age of 15, had witnessed domestic violence against their mother or had been victims of intimate partner violence. Perceived social support from teachers and classmates and higher self-esteem were associated with a lower likelihood of becoming a victim of bullying and or cyberbullying, but an association between experience of any other form of violence and the greater possibility of becoming a victim of bullying and or cyberbullying persisted even when self-esteem and social support were included in the model. Protecting adolescents from bullying and or cyberbullying means preventing all exposure to violent experiences in childhood and adolescence. Not having such experiences seems to be the most relevant protective factor.

- Abstract
Self-esteem seems to be a crucial factor in adolescents’ psychological well-being. Our study aimed to identify the likelihood of high/medium/low adolescents’ self-esteem in personal experiences of abuse and/or violence (abuse by an adult in childhood, bullying and cyberbullying, and dating violence victimization), different socioeconomic characteristics, perceived social support, and ability to resolve social problems. The study participants were 1451 students from secondary schools (age 13–16) in Spain, Italy, Romania, Portugal, Poland and the UK. We calculated relative risk ratios using multinomial regression models to understand how socioeconomic characteristics, personal experiences of abuse and/or violence, perceived social support, ability to resolve social problems were associated with a self-esteem level. Having no experience of being a victim of physical and sexual abuse in childhood and not being a victim of bullying and cyberbullying is connected with the likelihood of high self-esteem regarding having low self-esteem. Taking as reference those who have never been in a dating relationship, the probability of medium and high self-esteem, decreases when teens are in a romantic or dating relationship and they are victims of intimate partner violence, but the negative effect is explained when other violent variables are included in the model. Being a boy, begin a younger teenager, mother’s paid work, high problem-solving skills and perceptions of social support is in relation with the prospect for higher self-esteem. Promoting adolescent self-esteem means preventing all forms of violence perpetrated by significant others, as well as increasing the ability of youth to seek social support and develop problem-solving skills.

The worldwide use of mushrooms for food and nutritional purposes has made the cultivation of these basidiomycetes an economically viable alternative. Research has been reporting the use of these fungi as good sources of vitamins, minerals, proteins and carbohydrates, in addition to their use involving biotechnological and pharmacological applications. Among the species of mushrooms cultivated in Brazil, Pleurotus ostreatus, known as shimeji, stands out, which is one of the most cultivated in the world. In this work, the difference in the composition of polysaccharides of the species Pleurotus ostreatus when cultivated in different substrates was analyzed. To analyze the chemical profile and carry out the structural characterization of the isolated macromolecules, was used as the main tool nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy - NMR. Therefore, were isolated from the fruiting body of P. ostreatus cultivated in wheat/corn/soybean (control substrate), a partially methylated monogalactan (fractions SF3CW-Po and QRPF3CW-Po) and β-glucan (SF2K-Po fraction), by successive aqueous and alkaline extractions, followed by fractionation through the freeze/thaw process, precipitation of the water soluble fractions with Fehling's solution and dialysis in membranes with a 500 kDa exclusion limit. The chemical structure was determined through analyzes of mossacaridic composition, sodium periodate oxidation, methylation, HPSEC and NMR. The SF2K-Po fraction suggested the presence of a β-D-glucan previously described for basidiomycetes, which contains a main chain formed by 3-O-β-D-Glcp units and can be substituted in O-6 by non-reducing terminals of β-Glcp (1 branch every three major chain units), possibly distinguishing between water solubility and size (molar mass) and the SF3CW-Po and QRPF3CW-Po one fractions partially methylated monogalactan (MG), with a molar mass of 14.144 x 103 g.mol-1, which has a core consisting of 6-O-α-D-Galp and 6-O- (3-O-Me -α-D-Galp), both being partially substituted at O-2 by 3-O-β-D-Manp. In order to verify whether the culture medium influences the production of these macromolecules, an experimental design was carried out to examine the effect of temperature, time and power conditions that maximize the extraction of these polymers using the microwave technique (MAE). The characterization and chemical profile of the extracts of P. ostreatus cultivated in six different substrates showed that both had the polymers isolated in the control substrate, however they can differentiate in the proportion of branching and molecular mass (Mw). Considering the importance of polysaccharides isolated from basidiomycetes, techniques for cultivating these fungi and characterization methods should be evaluated, since they present a promising source of bioactive molecules. Abstract This study aims to theoretically discuss the importance of analyzing migrations from a gender perspective. Based on one of the most striking features of migrations in the modern age - the feminization of migrations -, we point out the need to reflect and analyze the processes and dynamics underlying female migration and their specific characteristics. This paper examines the contributions of feminist theories to the understanding of women's migrations and the implications of considering migrations a gendered phenomenon. Some recent studies on immigrant women in Portugal were systematized, mapping the most frequently addressed topics and the results achieved.

In a globalized context, reconciling private, family and professional life assumes a preponderant part on the feminization of migration analyses. However, the knowledge of the existing dynamics among immigrant families is still scarce in Portuguese academic literature, specially on how immigrant women organize their family lives and what are de action modalities in terms of reconciliation (Marques & Góis, 2012). In this sense, the main objective of this research is to characterize and analyze the immigrant women experiences and speeches about their private, family and professional life reconciliation, as well as to know the strategies used by these women to ease this reconciliation. The research is based on a qualitative approach and is inserted in the critical paradigm offered by social and feminism constructionism and the empirical basis was built by thirty Brazilian, Cape verdean and Ukrainian immigrant women, living in Braga’s district. Using thematic analysis methodology and analyses of individual self-record time use, the results show a regular and asymmetric pattern of the domestic chores and child care, that places immigrant women, on the receiving country, in a bigger overload situation than in the country of origin, by the absence of family, financial and social support. Motherhood and child care influence the professional life, and it is often interrupted and abandoned. Furthermore, it is denoted a diversity in the use of strategies that vary according to their family structures, their social economics conditions and the type of work they perform. In the attempt to respond towards reconciliations dilemmas, these women are legitimizing their submission that culminates in a normative position with asymmetric practices to which they are subject and, consequently, strengthening the inequality scheme. Thus, we conclude that the political and economical power of the receiving country aggravates the feminization of traditional gender roles where we can see an unequal achievement of women relative to men in professional and family spaces.

The mushrooms have been used as food and medicine for thousands of years. Among them, Grifola frondosa (“Maitake”) may be on the most versatile and promising medicinal mushrooms for use as a dietary supplement. Besides the high nutritional value, they are a good source of compounds such as carbohydrates that can act as biological response modifiers. In this work, β-D-glucans (PSF2-GfM and MRSF2K-GfM fractions) and heteropolysaccharides unusual in the literature (MEPF3CW-GfM and PF2K-GfM fractions) were isolated from the mycelium, grown in solid culture, of the G. frondosa, by successive aqueous and alkaline extractions, followed by fractionation through freeze-thawing, precipitation of soluble material with a Fehling solution, and dialysis using a membrane with an exclusion limit of 1000 kDa. The chemical structures were established based on monossacharide composition, periodate oxidation, methylation analysis, HPSEC-MALLS and NMR studies. The branched β-D-glucans (GLC-GfM) found were similar to those previously described for the fungus, which contains a (13)- linked β-Glcp main-chain, substituted at O-6 by single-unit -Glcp side-chains, on the average of one to every third residues of the backbone, but with different molar masses and water solubility. In adittion, novel heteropolymers were obtained. One was a fucomannogalactan (FMG-GfM), with a molar mass of 175 x 103 g mol-1, was shown to have a main chain of (1→6)-linked α-D-Galp and 3-O-Me-α-DGalp, both of which are partially substituted at O-2, principally, by 3-O-α-D-Manp-α-LFucp groups. The other was a fucoxylomannan (FXM-GfM) (Mw 202 x 103 g.mol-1), which consisted of backbone of (13)-linked α-D-Manp units, totally substituted at O-4 mainly by 4-O-α-L-Fucp-β-D-Xylp disaccharide. Thus, the polymers obtained from Grifola frondosa may could be good candidates for evaluation of its biological effect, considering the results obtained for others similar mushrooms polysaccharides.
