Deterioration of flesh quality has bad effects on consumer satisfaction. Therefore, effects of safe mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) on flesh quality of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) muscle were studied. A total of 540 healthy fish (215.85 ± 0.30 g) were randomly divided into six groups and fed six separate diets with graded levels of MOS (0, 200, 400, 600, 800 and 1000 mg kgOptimal MOS could improve tenderness (27.4%), pH (5.5%) while decreasing cooking loss (16.6%) to enhance flesh quality. Meanwhile, optimal MOS improved flavor inosine 5'-monophosphate (IMP) of 11.8%, sweetness and umami-associated amino acid, healthy unsaturated fatty acid (UFA) of 14.9% and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs) especially C20:5n-3 (15.8%) and C22:6n-3 (38.3%). Furthermore, the mechanism that MOS affected pH, tenderness and cooking loss could be partly explained by the reduced lactate, cathepsin and oxidation, respectively. The enhanced flesh quality was also associated with enhanced antioxidant ability concerning improving antioxidant enzymes activities and the corresponding transcriptional levels, which were regulated through NF-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and target of rapamycin (TOR) signaling. Based on pHDietary MOS is a promising alternative strategy to improve flesh quality of fish muscle. © 2022 Society of Chemical Industry.

Rational: A bioactive small molecule of precision medicine involves targeted therapies. Shikonin, a herbal extract, is an active small molecule that is traditionally used in wound healing for its anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore, the present study aims to evaluate the anti-inflammatory role of shikonin in skin burn wound healing and hair follicle regeneration and to identify molecular signaling pathways that promote the regeneration. Method: A secondary skin burn model of mice was established by conventional method. The burn wound was externally treated with shikonin ointment and excipient treated mice were used as controls. Skin samples were taken on the day 3 and 7 after drug treatment and the dosage was unified in the experiments. The wound healing process was observed by histopathological and immunofluorescence (IF) staining. The proliferation of hair follicle cells in wound skin was tracked by 5-Ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridne (EdU) staining. The inflammatory factors at the wound healing site were quantified by polymerase chain reaction (qPCR). The PI3K/Akt, P65, Ki67 signaling proteins and Bax/BCL2 apoptosis proteins were studied by western blot analysis. The functionality of PI3K/Akt signaling pathway was tested using LY294002, an inhibitor of PI3K. Result: Shikonin treated mice group exhibited better and faster skin burn wound healing in comparison with the controls. The proliferation of new skin cells and hair follicle regeneration in the wound site of the shikonin treated group was more active. The recruitment of macrophages in shikonin treated group was inhibited inturn decreased the expression of inflammatory factors. However, LY294002 inhibited the shikonin-mediated PI3K/Akt signaling pathway and affected the wound healing process. Conclusion: In conclusion, this study strengthens the hypothesis that bioactive small molecule, shikonin, inhibits inflammation, promotes wound healing and has a significant protective effect on the deep hair follicles against burn skin injury by activating the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.

In some situations, the failure time of interest is defined as the gap time between two related events and the observations on both event times can suffer either right or interval censoring. Such data are usually referred to as doubly censored data and frequently encountered in many clinical and observational studies. Additionally, there may also exist a cured subgroup in the whole population, which means that not every individual under study will experience the failure time of interest eventually. In this paper, we consider regression analysis of doubly censored data with a cured subgroup under a wide class of flexible transformation cure models. Specifically, we consider marginal likelihood estimation and develop a two-step approach by combining the multiple imputation and a new expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm for its implementation. The resulting estimators are shown to be consistent and asymptotically normal. The finite sample performance of the proposed method is investigated through simulation studies. The proposed method is also applied to a real dataset arising from an AIDS cohort study for illustration.

Flesh quality is evaluated according to nutritional value and sensory quality. Cinnamaldehyde (CIN) improves mammalian meat quality, but research relating this to aquaculture is scarce. In this study, five doses of CIN (0, 36, 72, 108, 144 mg/kg diet) were fed to grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) for 60 days. The results show that CIN supplementation increased nutritional value by increasing crude protein content. CIN also improved the sensory quality by increasing the pH and collagen content, decreasing shear force, lactate, and cooking loss. These changes may be related to changes in muscle fiber growth by increasing myofiber diameter. The increased myofiber diameter induced by CIN is associated with TOR mRNA and protein levels, and down-regulated FOXO3a mRNA levels, which might be associated with PTP1B/IGF1/PI3K/AKTs-TOR/FOXO3a signaling. Based on muscle crude protein content, optimal CIN supplementation dosage was 88.01 mg/kg.

BACKGROUND The objective of the present study was to identify prognostication biomarkers in patients with cervical cancer. MATERIAL AND METHODS Survival related genes were identified in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) cervical cancer study, and they were included into an elastic net regularized Cox proportional hazards regression model (CoxPH). The genes that their coefficients that were not zero were combined to build a prognostication combination. The prognostication performance of the multigene combination was evaluated and validated using Kaplan-Meier curve and univariate and multivariable CoxPH model. Meanwhile, a nomogram was built to translate the multigene combination into clinical application. RESULTS There were 37 survival related genes identified, 9 of which were integrated to build a multigene combination. A furnace-free inductively coupled plasma chemical vapor deposition (ICP-PECVD) system, which does not require sample heating, was used to grow graphene at a temperature below 300 °C. This studies have found that under low-temperature PECVD growth conditions, liquid precursors are more suitable for preparing low-temperature graphene precursors than gaseous precursors.​​​​ Hence, benzene is used as a carbon precursor to obtain a sheet resistance of approximately 1.24 kΩ sq−1. In this research, it was discovered that the carbon-hydrogen ratio of the precursor molecule is an important factor while using PECVD to grow graphene. This factor affects the quality of graphene and the sheet resistance value —when the carbon–hydrogen ratio for the precursor molecule is 1:1, graphene has the high quality and lowest sheet resistance; when it is less than 1:2, the graphene that cannot be deposited has the worst quality and sheet resistance. Furthermore, we found that methane, a precursor often used to deposit graphene, will etch graphene under low-temperature conditions, and that acetylene can be used as a precursor to deposit graphene. It was further proven that the carbon–hydrogen ratio of the precursor molecules in the PECVD process caused the reduction in the graphene temperature.

Design strategies for molecules showing thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) are discussed, and a new emitter concept based on an almost zero-energy-gap is developed. Thermal activation is not substantial. Applied in an organic light emitting diode, all singlet and triplet excitons are harvested directly in the lowest singlet state without time-delaying TADF. This landmarking mechanism, being beyond TADF, leads to emission decay times in the sub-s range.

Two isomeric host materials (Sy and Asy) comprising carbazole (donor) and CN-substituted pyrimidine (acceptor) were synthesized, characterized, and utilized as host materials for green and blue thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). Both molecules have high triplet energy and small energy difference between singlet and triplet states, leading to feasible TADF. The different linking topologies of carbazole and CN groups on the pyrimidine core provide distinct photophysical properties and molecular packing manners, which further influence the efficiency as they served as hosts in TADF OLEDs. As compared to Asy-based cases, the Sy-hosted TADF OLED device gave higher maximum external quantum efficiencies (EQE) of 24.0% (vs 22.5%) for green (4CzIPN as a dopant) and 20.4% (vs 15.0%) for blue (2CzTPN as a dopant) and low efficiency roll-off. The high horizontal dipole ratio (Θ ≈ 88%) for both emitters dispersed in Sy and Asy hosts accounts for the high device efficiency. A clear molecular structure-physical property-device performance relationship has been established to highlight the importance of symmetrical structure in TADF host material design.

The ferromagnetic manganese doped TiN films were grown by plasma assisted molecular beam epitaxy on MgO(001) substrates. The nitrogen concentration and the ratio of manganese at Ti lattice sites increase after the plasma annealing post treatment. TiN(002) peak shifts toward low angle direction and TiN(111) peak disappears after the post treatment. The lattice expansion and peak shift are mainly ascribed to the reduction of nitrogen vacancies in films. The magnetism was suppressed in as-prepared sample due to the pinning effect of the nitrogen vacancies at defect sites or interface. The magnetism can be activated by the plasma implantation along with nitrogen vacancies reduce. The decrease of nitrogen vacancies leads to the enhancement of ferromagnetism.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the role of the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), signal transduction protein in regulating the biological characteristics of stem cells in cervical carcinoma. Overexpressed plasmid of STAT3 was constructed and used to transfect SiHa into cervical carcinoma cells. STAT3-targeted specific siRNA was designed and produced. The effects of STAT3 upregulation (or inhibition) on the expression of NANOG, OCT4 and SOX2 markers of stem cells were measured, using western blot analysis and RT-qPCR. In addition, the tumor sphere experiment was also conducted to detect the formation of tumor spheres after the intervention of expression of STAT3 and the expression of STAT3, NANOG, OCT4 and SOX2 was detected in 35 cases of cervical carcinoma tissues and 31 cases of normal cervical tissues using immunohistochemistry. We determined whether the STAT3 overexpression plasmid was successfully constructed using enzyme digestion, PCR for bacterium solution, western blot analysis and RT-qPCR and found that the plasmid met the requirements of subsequent procedures. This paper first briefly combs many bubbles and crashes in the history of human finance, and analyzes the causes of bubbles. Then, from the perspective of behavioral finance, this paper discusses the influence that overconfidence and herd effect of investors on securities trading decisions and earnings. This paper is based on the double-killing incident of Wanda encounters, focusing on the real support behind the rumors on the investment decisions made by investors, and analyzing the emotions and psychology in the investor transaction process.

A series of twisted D–π–A type emitters based on the acridine donor unit and CN-substituted pyridine, pyrimidine, and benzene acceptor units are studied. They not only allow one to systematically probe the influence of different acceptor strengths, but also permit one to intriguingly probe the influence of tunable conformations (twist angles) within the acceptor moieties through controlling the orientation of asymmetric heteroaromatic ring relative to the donor component. Intramolecular charge-transfer transitions are observed in all these compounds and emission wavelengths are widely tunable from deep blue to yellow not only by the general acceptor strength due to the characters of heteroarene and CN-substitution pattern but also by the subtle control of in-acceptor conformation (twist angles). Small triplet-to-singlet energy gaps (ΔEST) and significant thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) characteristics are obtained in a series of D–π–A compounds with sufficient acceptor strengths and tunable in-acceptor conformation, yielding a series of efficient blue-green to yellow TADF emitters with promisingly high photoluminescence quantum yields of 90%–100%. Highly efficient blue-green to yellow TADF organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) having external quantum efficiencies of up to 23.1%–31.3% are achieved using these efficient TADF emitters, which are among the most efficient TADF OLEDs ever reported.

It is still a great challenge that designing proper codoping concentrations of rare earth ions for achieving intensest expected emission from the studied phosphor. In this work, the quadratic general rotary unitized design (QGRUD) was introduced into the codoping concentration option of NaLa(MoO4)2: Er3+/Yb3+ phosphor for upconversion (UC) applications, and the optimum doping concentrations of Er3+ and Yb3+ for achieving maximum UC luminescence intensity, which is close to commercial NaYF4:Er3+/Yb3+ phosphor, were obtained. The two-photon process was assigned to the green UC emissions in the optimized NaLa(MoO4)2: Er3+/Yb3+ phosphor. It was also demonstrated that the optimized phosphor presented more stable upconversion emissions than the commercial NaYF4:Er3+/Yb3+ phosphor.

This paper analyzes compositions and functions of coordination control system in ultra supercritical power generation unit. The control strategies of core components in the system have been elaborated and its favorable application effects have also been shown. In doing so, unit’s safe economical operation is not only realized, but also the requirements of frequency regulation and peak load of power grid is satisfied.

ObjectiveTo investigate the expression of soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 (sFlt-1) and placental growth factor (PLGF) in the fetal growth restriction (FGR) cases and the intervention mechanism of tetramethylpyrazine.MethodsA total of 60 fetal growth restriction cases that admitted to our hospital were randomly divided into ligustrazine intervention group (group A) and nutritional support group (group B). A total of 50 healthy pregnant women were also enrolled as control group (group C). Expression level of maternal serum sFlt1, PLGF and fetal growth parameters including HC, AC, FL, BPD, EFW as well as placenta PLGF, sFlt-1 mRNA expression were recorded and compared among the three groups. A total of 15 SD rats were selected and were divided into three groups, TMP group, alcohol and tobacco group and blank control group. Three groups of rats were dissected on the twentieth day of gestation.ResultsExpression level of sFlt-1 and PLGF in group A was not significantly different from that of group C (P>0.05); but significant difference in SFlt1 and PLGF expression level was observed between group C and group B (P0.05). With the application of RMA2 two-dimensional (2-D) hydrodynamic model of Surface-water Modeling System (SMS), hydrodynamic characteristics of Jinshan Lake in the process of water injection and water exchange were simulated. The model generalized the river channel, divided mesh, chose the parameters, and controlled the boundary conditions with both the flowrate and the water surface elevation. The hydrodynamic simulation results show that: The simulated and measured value of the water level and flow velocity in the calibration section are in good agreement. On the whole, the simulation can truly reflect the hydrodynamic characteristics of Jinshan Lake and then can provide the hydrodynamic foundations for the study on the dam operation with the core of protecting water quality.

The boiler steel structure is the main parts of the boiler, its stability directly determines the normal operation of the boiler and the security of the surrounding environment. For analyzing the boiler steel structure, first respectively using matrix displacement method, energy method and the empirical formula method to calculate the periodic of the boiler steel structure; then using the bottom shear method and the mode-superposition response spectrum method to calculate the shear and the axial force of the boiler steel structure in same situation, and through comparing the results to gain the correction coefficient of the mode-superposition response spectrum for the engineering practice and discussing the calculation of the boiler steel structure under earthquake using mode-superposition response spectrum method. Providing the theoretical basis for the seismic design, the reinforcement and the maintenance of the boiler steel structure.

SiO2/TiO2 composite mesoporous materials prepared by sol-gel method with bacterial cellulose（BC）as a surface esterification agent and porous template was as photocatalyst in the degradation of methyl orange（MO）in water under UV- irradiation. The results show that the best heat treatment condition is at 600°Cfor 3 h and the optimum content of SiO2 is 30% (30 denotes the weight percent of SiO2). The photoactivity of 30SiO2/TiO2 catalyst prepared with BC was much better than that of reference catalyst prepared with no BC. An addition of BC not only raises the adsorbability of the photocatalyst, but also effectively inhibits anatase-rutile transformation and effectively induce amorphous-anatase transformation of TiO2. The BET surface area of 30%SiO2/TiO2 composite mesoporous materials was the largest. The resulting mesoporous materials showed a high photocatalytic activity for the photodegradation of methyl orange in the UV-irradiation.
