Background Several epidemiological studies have reported the relationship between the combined pretreatment fibrinogen and neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (F-NLR) and prognosis of digestive system cancers (DSCs). However, the results are controversial. We aimed to assess the prognostic value of F-NLR in patients with DSCs. Methods A comprehensive search for relevant studies was conducted until June, 2020. Studies that evaluated the association of the F-NLR score with survival outcome in patients with any DSCs were included. The hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated using a fixed-effects model. All data analyses were performed using the STATA 12.0 software. Results A total of 17 studies involving 5,767 participants were included in the meta-analysis. We found that high F-NLR score was significantly associated with poor overall survival (OS) in patients with DSCs (HR =2.0; 95% CI, 1.78–2.24). In addition, patients with high F-NLR score had poor disease-free survival/progression-free survival/recurrence-free survival (DFS/PFS/RFS) (HR =2.01; 95% CI, 1.47–2.74) and DFS (HR =1.97; 95% CI, 1.35–2.87). Sensitivity analyses for OS confirmed that the results were stable. Conclusions High F-NLR score is significantly associated with poor prognostic outcomes in patients with DSCs and can serve as an effective prognostic indicator for the Asian population.

After we pass the power frequency voltage withstand device, the transformer is continuously pressurized.Gain DB and discharge PC were obtained by digital partial discharge instrument and ultrasonic partial discharge instrument. After fitting, the linear relation is obtained and the quality inspection of PD detector is completed.It can make the detection effect of partial discharge detector more complete, and provide the basis for the quality inspection of the detector, This system also provides a strong support for the wide application of ultrasonic partial discharge detector.

Aim: The prognostic value of STC1 has been evaluated in solid tumors. However, the results remain controversial. Materials & methods: Relevant studies published up to 27 February 2021 were identified by a comprehensive search of the PubMed, EMBASE and Web of Science databases. Hazard ratios (HRs) and odds ratios with 95% CIs were applied to explore the association between STC1 and survival outcome and clinical characteristics. Results: Sixteen articles involving 2942 participants were included in this meta-analysis. The pooled analysis showed that high STC1 expression was significantly associated with worse overall survival (HR: 1.91; 95% CI: 1.63–2.24) and disease-free survival/progression-free survival/relapse-free survival (HR: 2.01; 95% CI: 1.34–3.02). Conclusion: STC1 may be an effective prognostic marker in solid tumors.

Background. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world, and its incidence is obviously increasing. The NT5DC family has been shown to be involved in the progression of many tumors. However, the biological function of NT5DC family members in HCC is still not well understood. Methods. Oncomine, Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA), UALCAN, Kaplan–Meier plotter, cBioPortal, GeneMANIA, Metascape, and TIMER were applied to assess the biological function of NT5DC family members in HCC. Results. Most of the NT5DC family members were highly expressed in HCC. High expression of NT5C2, NT5DC2, and NT5DC3 was closely associated with higher tumor stage and poor overall survival (OS). In addition, high NT5DC2 and NT5DC3 expression also predicted poor disease-free survival (DFS). Enrichment analysis revealed that the NT5DC family in HCC mainly involved the IMP metabolic process, purine ribonucleoside monophosphate metabolic process, and purine nucleoside monophosphate metabolic process. The expression of NT5DC family members was closely related to the infiltration of some immune cells, such as B cells, CD8+ T cells, CD4+ T cells, macrophages, neutrophils, and dendritic cells. Conclusion. Our findings provided new insights into the biological function and prognostic value of NT5DC family members in HCC.

Purpose To indirectly compare the efficacy and safety of systemic therapies used for patients with nonmetastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (nmCRPC). Methods The relevant randomized controlled trials were retrieved from PubMed and the Cochrane Library. Network meta-analyses were used to compare multiple drugs simultaneously for the outcomes of nmCRPC. Direct evidence in trials and indirect evidence across trials were combined by the network meta-analyses to estimate the treatment efficiency. Outcome Eight studies were included in our research. For prostate-specific antigen progression-free survival, the rate of progression was significantly decreased following apalutamide, enzalutamide, bicalutamide+dutasteride, and bicalutamide treatment compared with placebo. Compared with placebo treatment, metastases-free survival was significantly increased in patients who received apalutamide (hazard ratio [HR]: 0.28, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.23-0.35), enzalutamide (HR: 0.29, 95% CI: 0.24-0.35), and darolutamide (HR: 0.42, 95% CI: 0.35-0.50). Direct comparison showed significant survival benefits in patients who received second-generation anti-androgen therapy (apalutamide, enzalutamide, and darolutamide: HR: 0.74, 95% CI: 0.61-0.91) compared with patients who received placebo. With respect to metastases-free survival, based on SUCRA analysis, there was 80% and 78% probability that apalutamide and enzalutamide were preferred treatment, while darolutamide was likely to be second-best choice. Compared with placebo, all agents were not associated with significantly higher likelihood of serious adverse events and grade 3 to 4 adverse events. Conclusion Our outcomes support equivalent efficacy and similar risk of adverse effects between apalutamide, enzalutamide, and darolutamide, supporting the use of these antiandrogen agents in high-risk of progression nmCRPC.

Dysregulation of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) has been suggested to foster the carcinogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). To date, the role of long intergenic noncoding RNA01134 (LINC01134) in HCC have never been researched yet. Herein, we found that LINC01134 was highly expressed in HCC tissues in comparison with the matched normal liver tissues and increased LINC01134 expression correlated with shorter overall survival of patients with HCC. Additionally, we demonstrated LINC01134 downregulation significantly suppressed the proliferation ability and colony formation capacity of HCC cells. Furthermore, we revealed that LINC01134 functioned as a competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) for miR-4784 to upregulate structure-specific recognition protein 1 (SSRP1) in HCC cells. Meanwhile, miR-4784 inhibitor or restoration of SSRP1 could markedly attenuate the inhibitory effect of LINC01134 downregulation on HCC cells. Taken together, LINC01134 may promote the carcinogenesis of HCC at least partly via the miR-4784/SSRP1 axis. Therefore, LINC01134/miR-4784/SSRP1 axis should be developed as the promising therapeutic target for HCC., Graphical Abstract

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide, and its prognosis remains unsatisfactory. The identification of new and effective markers is helpful for better predicting the prognosis of patients with HCC and for conducting individualized management. The oncogene Aurora kinase A (AURKA) is involved in a variety of tumors; however, its role in liver cancer is poorly understood. The aim of this study was to establish AURKA-related gene signatures for predicting the prognosis of patients with HCC.Methods: We first analyzed the expression of AURKA in liver cancer and its prognostic significance in different data sets. Subsequently, we selected genes with prognostic value related to AURKA and constructed a gene signature based on them. The predictive ability of the gene signature was tested using the HCC cohort development and verification data sets. A nomogram was constructed by integrating the risk score and clinicopathological characteristics. Finally, the influence of the gene signature on the immune microenvironment in HCC was comprehensively analyzed.Results: We found that AURKA was highly expressed in HCC, and it exhibited prognostic value. We selected eight AURKA-related genes with prognostic value through the protein-protein interaction network and successfully constructed a gene signature. The nine-gene signature could effectively stratify the risk of patients with HCC and demonstrated a good ability in predicting survival. The nomogram showed good discrimination and consistency of risk scores. In addition, the high-risk group showed a higher percentage of immune cell infiltration (i.e., macrophages, myeloid dendritic cells, neutrophils, and CD4+T cells). Moreover, the immune checkpoints SIGLEC15, TIGIT, CD274, HAVCR2, and PDCD1LG2 were also higher in the high-risk group versus the low-risk group.Conclusions: This gene signature may be useful prognostic markers and therapeutic targets in patients with HCC.

Owing to the aggressive nature of radical nephroureterectomy (RNU), it is extremely important for the diagnostic modalities to be accurate. The European Association of Urology guidelines recommend that diagnostic ureteroscopy (URS) and biopsy be performed for upper urinary tract urothelial carcinomas (UUTCs). But that diagnostic URS adversely affects oncologic outcomes still exist. In the current systematic review and meta-analysis, we had attempted to evaluate oncologic outcome of diagnostic URS before RNU.All relevant articles were retrieved from PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library. Endpoint events were recurrence-free survival, metastasis-free survival, cancer-specific survival, and overall survival.Compared with patients who underwent RNU alone, those who underwent diagnostic URS before RNU had significantly higher intravesical recurrence rate (HR = 1.42, 95% CI: 1.24-1.61, IDiagnostic URS before RNU does not seem to compromise long-term survival outcomes, even though it is associated with a higher rate of intravesical recurrence (IVR). Our findings suggest that further investigation, especially through prospective studies, should focus on decreasing the rate of IVR by administration of intravesical chemotherapy immediately after diagnostic URS.

Several studies on the prognostic value of microRNA 142 (miR-142) in solid tumors have reported conflicting results. Therefore, the aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the relationship between the miR-142 and prognosis in solid tumors. A comprehensive search for relevant studies was conducted until 10 November 2020. Studies that investigated the prognostic significance of the miR-142 in solid tumors were included. The hazard ratio and 95% confidence interval were calculated using a random-effects model. All data analyses were performed using the STATA 12.0 software (Stata Corporation, College Station, TX, U.S.A.). Twenty articles involving 2451 participants were included in the meta-analysis. The results showed that high miR-142 expression was a better predictor of overall survival (OS) (HR = 0.66, 95% CI: 0.47–0.93) and disease-free/progression-free/recurrence-free survival (DFS/PFS/RFS) (HR = 0.71, 95% CI: 0.55–0.91) compared with low miR-142 expression. MiR-142 can be used as an effective prognostic marker for patients with solid tumors. Future large prospective studies are warranted to further confirm the present findings.

Background. The role of ABL1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is still unclear. Therefore, this study aims to explore the potential role of ABL1 in the progression of HCC using bioinformatics methods. Methods. We analyzed the expression, prognostic potential, and immune cell effect of ABL1 in HCC by using a variety of datasets. Results. ABL1 is highly expressed in HCC and associated with unfavorable overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS). Functional network analysis revealed that ABL1 plays an important role in mitochondrial activity, ATP metabolism, protein translation and metabolism, various neurological diseases, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and notch signaling pathway. In addition, we found that ABL1 expression was closely correlated with B cells, CD8 + T cells, CD4 + T cells, macrophages, neutrophils, and dendritic cells. Furthermore, ABL1 expression was positively associated with the expression levels of immune checkpoint genes, such as PD-1L, TIM3, TIGIT, and CTLA4. Conclusion. ABL1 is associated with immune infiltration and prognosis of HCC.

Background: It has been reported that the expression of aldo-keto reductase family 1 member B10 (AKR1B10) is abnormal in various types of cancer, and could be used as a prognostic biomarker. However, the results are controversial. Therefore, the aim of this study was to comprehensively evaluate the prognostic value of AKR1B10 expression in solid tumors by conducting a meta-analysis.Methods: The pooled hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for overall survival and disease-free survival/relapse-free survival were calculated to estimate the prognostic significance of AKR1B10 using the random effects model. Subgroup, meta-regression, and sensitivity analyses were used to investigate sources of heterogeneity. Begg’s test and Egger’s test were used to evaluate publication bias.Results: Eleven studies involving 1,389 patients were included in this meta-analysis. The pooled analysis displayed that high expression of AKR1B10 was not associated with OS(HR=1.22; 95% CI: 0.73–2.04) and DFS/PFS (HR=1.23, 95% CI 0.75–2.01) in solid tumors. Sensitivity analysis indicated that the results of the meta-analysis were stable. Begg’s test and Egger’s test also confirmed the absence of publication bias.Conclusions: We demonstrated that high expression of AKR1B10 was not associated with survival outcomes in patients with solid tumors. Further large-sample, prospective, multi-centric, and well-designed studies are warranted to investigate the prognostic role of AKR1B10 in various cancers.

It has been reported that microRNA-206(miR-206) plays an important role in cancers and could be used as a prognostic biomarker. However, the results are controversial. Therefore, we summarize all available evidence and present a meta-analysis to estimate the prognostic value of miR-206 in various cancers. The relevant studies were collected by searching PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science databases until August 21, 2020. Hazard ratios (HRs) and odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were applied to explore the association between miR-206 and survival results and clinicopathologic features. Sources of heterogeneity were investigated by subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis. Publication bias was evaluated using Egger’s test. Twenty articles involving 2095 patients were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled HR showed that low miR-206 expression was significantly associated with unfavourable overall survival (OS) ( HR = 2.03 , 95 CI%: 1.53-2.70, P < 0.01 ). In addition, we found that low miR-206 expression predicted significantly negative association with tumor stage (III-IV VS. I-II) ( OR = 4.20 , 95% CI: 2.17-8.13, P < 0.01 ), lymph node status (yes VS. no) ( OR = 3.58 , 95%: 1.51-8.44, P = 0.004 ), distant metastasis (yes VS. no) ( OR = 3.19 , 95%: 1.07-9.50, P = 0.038 ), and invasion depth ( T 3 + T 4 vs. T 2 + T 1 ) ( OR = 2.43 , 95%: 1.70-3.49, P < 0.01 ). miR-206 can be used as an effective prognostic indicator in various cancers. Further investigations are warranted to validate the present results.

Serum microRNA-195 (miR-195) expression has been shown to be significantly up-regulated in breast cancer, which implies that it could be a useful biomarker in the early detection of breast cancer. Hence, we performed this meta-analysis to investigate the diagnostic value of miR-195 for breast cancer. Relevant articles were collected from PubMed, Scopus, Embase, the Cochrane Library, BioMed Central, ISI Web of Knowledge, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wan Fang Data and Technology of Chongqing databases, from inception to May 24, 2019, by two independent researchers. The diagnostic capacity of miR-195 for breast cancer was assessed using pooled sensitivity and specificity, diagnostic odds ratio (DOR), area under the summary receiver operating characteristic (AUC) and Fagan's nomogram. Meta-analysis and heterogeneity source investigation were completed using Meta-Disc statistical software and Stata SE (version 14.0). Six studies with a total of 464 patients and 287 healthy controls were included in our meta-analysis. The pooled results for sensitivity, specificity and DOR were 0.79 (95% CI: 0.75-0.83), 0.86 (95% CI: 0.82-0.90) and 32.05 (95% CI: 17.04-60.30), respectively; positive and negative likelihood ratios were 5.18 and 0.20, and AUC was 0.9197 (95% CI: 0.86-0.91). In addition, heterogeneity was clearly apparent but was not caused by the threshold effect. In summary, this meta-analysis revealed that miR-195 may be suitable as a potential biomarker for early diagnosis of breast cancer with high sensitivity and specificity, and further investigations are needed to demonstrate its clinical application value.

Purpose. The prognostic value of a new scoring system, termed F-NLR, that combines pretreatment fibrinogen level with neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio has been evaluated in various cancers. However, the results are controversial. The purpose of this study was to comprehensively analyze the prognostic value of F-NLR score in patients with cancers. Methods. An integrated search of relevant studies was conducted by screening the PubMed and Embase databases. Pooled hazard ratios, with 95% confidence intervals (CIs), for overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS)/progression-free survival (PFS) were calculated to estimate the prognostic significance of F-NLR score in patients with various tumors. A random effects model was used for comprehensive analysis, and subgroup and meta-regression analyses were used to explore sources of heterogeneity. Results. Thirteen articles reporting data from of 4747 patients were included in the study. Pooled analysis revealed that high F-NLR score was significantly associated with poor OS ( HR = 1.77 ; 95% CI, 1.51–2.08) and poor DFS/PFS ( HR = 1.63 ; 95% CI, 1.30–2.05). Subgroup and meta-regression analyses did not alter the prognostic role of F-NLR score in OS and DFS/PFS. Conclusions. Increased F-NLR score is significantly associated with poor prognosis in patients with cancers and can serve as an effective prognostic indicator.

Based on this, in order to effectively reduce special vehicles touching high-voltage lines causing safety accidents, this paper researches and designs a safety monitoring and warning device for special vehicles touching high-voltage lines, mainly including sensor monitoring templates, signal transmission templates and monitoring and warning alert templates, through the decoding of different template principles, combined with electric field induction and wireless transmission principles, the safety distance of high-voltage lines is relevant to explore, then when Special vehicle objects into the safety distance threshold, that is, to start the information monitoring alarm, to remind the construction of special vehicle equipment and personnel away from electrocution, to ensure safe production. Through the monitoring and warning device, the rationalization, economy and safety of high-voltage line can be achieved.

Methods Hazard ratios (HRs) with its 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated to assess the prognostic value of AKR1B10 by using the random effects model. The STATA version 12.0 software were used to perform all the analyses. Results Eleven articles including 1428 patients involved in this meta-analysis. The pooled analysis suggested that high AKR1B10 expression was not associated with OS (HR: 1.18; 95% CI: 0.69-2.00) and DFS/PFS (HR: 1.08, 95% CI: 0.67-1.76) in digestive system cancers. However, Further analysis revealed that high AKR1B10 expression indicated poor OS in oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC) (HR: 2.92, 95% CI: 1.86-4.58) and favorable DSS in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (HR: 0.71, 95% CI: 0.52-0.97). Conclusions The prognostic value of high AKR1B10 expression varied in different types of digestive system cancers. Further studies exploring the prognostic role of AKR1B10 in digestive system cancers are needed.

Background/Aims: Numerous studies have shown that NIMA-related kinase 2 (NEK2) expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissue is associated with survival and clinicopathological features; however, the evidence remains inconclusive. Thus, we aimed to further explore the prognostic and clinicopathological significance of NEK2 expression in HCC using a two-part study consisting of a retrospective cohort study and a meta-analysis. Methods: In the cohort study, NEK2 expression in 206 HCC samples and adjacent normal liver tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC). Patients were divided into a high NEK2 expression group and a low NEK2 expression group by the median value of the immunohistochemical scores. The Kaplan–Meier method with the log-rank test was used to analyze survival outcomes in the two groups, and multivariate analysis based on Cox proportional hazard regression models was applied to identify independent prognostic factors. In the meta-analysis, eligible studies were searched in PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and CNKI databases. STATA version 12.0 (Stata Corporation, College Station, TX) was used for statistical analyses. Results: The IHC results of our cohort study showed higher NEK2 expression in HCC tissues compared with adjacent normal liver tissues. Multivariate analysis revealed that high NEK2 expression was an independent risk factor for poor overall survival (OS) [hazard ratio (HR) = 1.763; 95% CI, 1.060–2.935; P = 0.029] and disease-free survival (DFS) [hazard ratio (HR) = 1.687; 95% CI, 1.102–2.584; P = 0.016] in HCC patients. A total of 11 studies with 1,698 patients were enrolled in the meta-analysis, consisting of 10 studies from the database search and our cohort study. The pooled results revealed that high NEK2 expression correlated closely with poor OS among HCC patients (HR = 1.47; 95% CI, 1.21–1.80; P < 0.01), and DFS/recurrence-free survival (RFS) (HR = 1.92; 95% CI, 1.41–2.63; P < 0.01). Additionally, our meta-analysis also showed that the proportion of HCC patients with high NEK2 expression was greater in the group with larger tumors (> 5 cm) than in the group with smaller tumors (≤ 5 cm) [odds ratio (OR) = 2.02; 95% CI, 1.13–3.64; P < 0.01). Conclusion: Our study demonstrated that high NEK2 expression is a risk factor for poor survival in HCC patients. More prospective, homogeneous, and multiethnic studies are required to validate our findings.
