Power management is becoming important aspect as the size of transistor is shrinking. For processor design, Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC) architecture is preferable as compared to Complex Instruction Set Computer (CISC) architecture because of its simplicity and availability. To design the low power RISC processor, there are a few techniques that had been used earlier, such as a) pipelining and b) Common Power Format language to generate power intent of RISC processor design. In the present work, for designing a 16-bit RISC processor with low power consumption, a multi-voltage design technique has been used. In this technique, different supply voltages are provided to different blocks of the design. This technique is implemented with the help of Unified Power Format (UPF). Further, various operations such as ADD, SUB, INVERT, AND, OR, Right Shift, Left Shift, and Less Than are verified on modelsim for the designed 16-bit RISC processor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cancer results due to an imbalance between regulation of cell proliferation and apoptosis. As per the latest data released by World Health Organization (WHO), a large part of global population cannot access proper anticancer therapy, and this imposes a burden of approximately US$ 1.16 trillion on global economy. Relevant studies were identified through electronic searches of Pubmed, Medline, Scopus, Google scholar. In this review, we found that there is extensive range of dietary items whose components can influence either cell proliferation rate or cell death rate or both. Exclusion and avoidance of several dietary items/habits are linked with reduced risk of several types of cancer. In addition, many dietary items have been proven beneficial for minimizing the risk of various cancers and slow down their progression. This paper consists of proposal of two new constructions of balanced Boolean function achieving a new lower bound of nonlinearity along with high algebraic degree and optimal or highest algebraic immunity. This construction has been made by using representation of Boolean function with primitive elements. Galois Field, F2n used in this representation has been constructed by using powers of primitive element such that greatest common divisor of power and 2n - 1 is 1. The constructed balanced n - variable Boolean functions achieve higher nonlinearity, algebraic degree of n - 1, and algebraic immunity of n+1/2 for odd n, n/2 for even n. The nonlinearity of Boolean function obtained in the proposed constructions is better as compared to existing Boolean functions available in the literature without adversely affecting other properties such as balancedness, algebraic degree and algebraic immunity. Objective: "Feel good effect" of exercise is well known. Activation of pain inhibitory mechanisms after exercise is also well documented. Swimming is considered as a beneficial exercise as well as health-promoting sport. The significance of testosterone in swimming exercise-induced analgesia is yet to be understood. Therefore, it is worthwhile to investigate the significance of testosterone in swimming exercise-induced analgesia. Materials and Methods: The basal tail flick latencies of all animals were recorded by using tail flick analgesiometer. In order to observe the effect of testosterone on swimming exercise-induced analgesia, testicles of animals of some groups were surgically removed. Then animals were subjected to swimming sessions of different patterns. After swimming, tail flick latencies were measured. Results: Swimming sessions resulted in increase in pain thresholds of all animals. Castration negatively affected the degree of analgesia achieved in rats. However, daily treatment of testosterone propionate (500µg/kg, s.c.) improved swim-induced analgesia in castrated rats. Moreover, daily administration of naloxone hydrochloride (1mg/kg, i.p.) fifteen min prior to swimming suppressed testosterone therapy resulted in an increase in swim-induced analgesia in castrated animals. Conclusion: We concluded that testosterone plays a significant role in swimming exercise-induced analgesia in male Wistar albino rats and this positive effect of testosterone on pain threshold might be mediated through its probable effect on the endogenous opioid system.
