Abstract: The new four-coordinated mononuclear palladium(II) complexes 1–9 with chelating heterocyclic thiolates and tertiary phosphines with general formula [Pd(L)nCl(R′R2P)] (L=Pym2SH (pyrimidine-2-thiolate), Pur6SH (purine-6-thiolate), Py2SH (pyridine-2-thiolate), R3P=PPh3, P(o-tolyl)3, PPh2Cl), n =1, 2) have been synthesized by the direct reaction of [PdCl2(R′R2P)2] with polyfunctional heterocyclic thiolates which display a wide variety of coordinations. These compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR and multinuclear (1H, 13C and 31P) NMR. The X-ray diffraction study of non-ionic compound 5 showed that the thiolate acts as unidentate and that the chelating (–N,S) ligand adopts a slightly distorted square planar geometry around the palladium atom. In vitro the anti-inflammatory inhibition of compounds 1–9 was 10–15% greater than that of the standard drug Declofenac. Compounds 1 and 4 showed mostly a moderate to low cytotoxicity against seven human tumor cell lines whereas compound 3 was somewhat more active. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

A series of five-coordinated germanium-substituted tricyclohexylantimony dipropionates have been synthesized and characterized by different instrumental techniques, such as elemental analyses, FT-IR, multinuclear NMR (¹H, 13C) and mass spectrometry. These compounds have also been screened against different microbes and they showed good activity against different bacteria that was comparable to the reference drugs. The crystal structure of the precursor (C6H11)3SbBr2 is reported here, which showed that the antimony atom in an asymmetric unit exists in trigonal bipyramidal geometry, having space group C2/c with the monoclinic crystal system. This article presents information on the Palladium(II) complexes with heterocylic thione ligands, which are of interest currently for the synthesis of clinically useful drugs. The compound crystallizes with two unique molecules and a disordered methanol solvent molecule in the asymmetric unit. Each Pd atom of the two unique molecules in the asymmetric unit is four-coordinate, in the case of title compound. The atoms exhibits a slightly distorted square-planar geometry. The pyrimidine-2-thiolate ligand acts as a bidentate chelate. It coordinates to Pd via the S1 atom and the adjacent pyrimidine N1 atom.

This article presents information on palladium(II) complexes with sulfur and phosphorus donor ligands, which are of interest presently due to a study related to their ability to separate the metal ion, and their anti-tumor activity against leukemic cells. Various other studies also prove the palladium (II)'s use as pesticides and antimicrobial agents. The article also informs that in the title compound, (I), the dithiocarbamate ligand acts as a bidentate chelate. It coordinates to Pd via both S atoms.

The article presents information on bis(μ-4-methylpiperidine-1-dithiocarboxylato-κ2 S:S')- [bis(4-methylpiperidine-1-dithiocarboxylato-S:S')- zinc(II)] or [Zn2(C7H12NS2)4. In this compound, each Zn atom is chelated by one dithiocarboxylate group, while the other dithiocarboxylate ligand bridges the two Zn atoms to form a dimeric binuclear complex. In the complex structure of the compound, the asymmetric unit contains one half of the complex molecule, which lies about a centre of symmetry.

In the title compound, [Zn2(C6H10NS2)4], the Zn atom is tetra­hedrally coordinated by one S, S′-bidentate and two S-monodentate dithio­carbamate ligands. Background: Thalassemia is inherited disorder characterized by haemolytic anaemia, due to complete absence or reduced β-globin chain synthesis, stimulating pathological bone marrow overstimulation and altered erythropoiesis. The change in bone mass ultimately results into miss interpretation of bone age once assed from x-ray radiograph. The aims compare skeletal age of thalassaemic children of 9-15 years with chronological age by x-ray wrist bones., Methods: This was cross sectional analytical study; the study was conducted in conjunction with Fatimid Hospital Peshawar Pakistan and Out Patients Department (OPD) of paediatrics for minor illness (other than Thalassemia) Khyber Teaching Hospital August 2014 to January 2015. A total 156 samples were selected convenient sampling to make comparison of bone age and chronological age between thalassaemic children (age 9-15years) and age sex matched normal control. A structure data collection check list was used to collect data X-ray findings (bone age). SPSS 20 was used for statistical analysis., Results: The results showed a total of 156 children with their mean age 11.9±2.2, male were 97 (62.2%) and females 59 (37.8%). Out of thalassaemic (n=76) majority 49 (62.8%) were male as compared to female 29 (37.2%). The mean chorological age among both of group were not significantly different (p=0.67). However, the bone age was significantly different from each other (p=0001). Pearson's correlation analysis revealed that was strong correlation between erupt teeth and bone age (r=0.462, p=0.0001)., Conclusion: Skeletal age assessment was found to be suboptimal along with chronological age in children and adolescents suffering from thalassemia.

The title compound, C(5)H(10)N(2)S(5), was unintentionally obtained as the product of an attempted synthesis of a methyl-carbamodithioic acid using methyl-amine and carbon disulfide. In the mol-ecule, two dithio-carbamate groups are bridged by a -CH(2)S- unit. The C-S-S-C torsion angle is -90.13 (11)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by N-H⋯S inter-actions between neighbouring mol-ecules. An intra-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bond also occurs.

In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(10)H(9)ClO(2), dimers form as a result of inter-molecular O-H⋯O bonding. These dimers are linked to each other via C-H⋯O bonds, where the CH group belongs to the benzene ring and the O atom is from the carbonyl group of an adjacent mol-ecule. There exist two inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which individually form five-membered rings. There also exists a π-π inter-action between the aromatic ring and its symmetry counterpart, with a centroid-centroid distance of 4.0202 (17) Å, and a C-H⋯π inter-action between a methyl CH group and the aromatic ring.
