An eco-friendly biogenic method was developed for the green synthesis of nickel oxide (NiO) nanoparticles using plant extracts via the sol–gel method. Over recent decades, various nano-scale techniques have been advanced to design biosensors with high sensitivity, selectivity, and efficiency. Biomaterials consist of biological recognition elements and physical/chemical transducers, offering significant advantages in high throughput processing. The morphological, structural, and optical properties of NiO nanoparticles were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). XRD revealed a high-purity crystalline cubic structure, while UV-vis spectroscopy using the Tauc plot showed a blue shift in the band gap. FTIR confirmed the presence of NiO functional groups on the surface. Despite significant progress in biomaterials, challenges remain in improving the stability of such samples. Chemical pesticides in crop protection pose long‐term threats to living beings due to their harmful side effects. Plant consortium, a mixture of diverse plant extracts and biomedicine, has gained attention for integrated pest management. Developmental formulations increase bioavailability of bioactive constituents, enhancing desired biological activities. The present study is undertaken to evaluate the pesticidal activity of the plant consortium composed of Zingiber officinale, Allium sativum, and Capsicum annuum against Spodoptera litura under laboratory condition. Followed by measuring pesticidal activity, ecotoxicity of prepared formulation was investigated. The plant consortium was prepared from the selected plant extracts through green science principles. The presence of possible bioactive compounds in plant consortium prepared from ethanolic extracts of selected plants was determined using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC‐MS). Pesticidal activity of the prepared consortium was investigated against S. litura by determination of cumulative mortality, lethal concentration. Active principles of pesticidal activity associated with plant consortium was readily extracted in ethanol. Prepared consortium revealed notable pesticidal activity against S. litura larval stages by recording high mortality and least LC50 and LC90. The plant consortium has not shown any ecotoxic effect which was confirmed by no sign of toxic effects on plant growth parameters of seedlings. Ecotoxicity of proposed consortium was also studied by measuring the soil parameters and phytotoxicity assessment. In the present study two white seeded sesame varieties VRI 3 and SVPR 1 were treated with seven different concentration viz., 0.2 %, 0.4 %, 0.6 %, 0.8 %, 1 %, 1.2 % and 1.4 % of chemical mutagen Ethyl Methane Sulphonate (EMS). Germination percentage and germination index were tested using two different germination methods. Seed germination percentage and germination index was decreased with increased doses of EMS in both the varieties. The higher concentration of EMS completely arrested the seed germination. The optimum dose of the mutagen should be tested to maintain the require plant population in the M1 generation and increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the mutagen. LD 50 value was determined using probit analysis. For SVPR 1 and VRI 3, LD 50 value was found to be 0.36% and 0.44 % respectively. For fixing the lethal dose for the chemical mutagen, Pro tray method of germination test was found to be reliable than germination paper method.

Doping with d-block metal ions plays a pivotal role in enhancing the specific capacity (Cg) of metal oxides. Here, augmenting the electrochemical performance of ZnCo2O4 is demonstrated by Ni2+ ion doping. An enormous boost in Cg after doping with Ni2+ was noticed due to the high electrical conductivity of Ni. In addition, doping with Ni leads to excellent rate capability and long cycle life. An asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) fabricated using Ni2+ doped ZnCo2O4 and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) in 3.5 M KOH electrolyte displays an excellent energy density of 40 W h kg−1 and power density of 775 W kg−1 at 1 A g−1. In addition, an all-solid-state flexible asymmetric supercapacitor (ASFAS) device was fabricated to demonstrate its application in flexible electronics. Herein, we are reporting the enhanced electrochemical performance of hybridised WO3–CdS nanocomposites prepared by microwave assisted wet chemical route without post synthesis of heating for different wt% of CdS (2 wt%, 4 wt% and 6 wt%) loading with WO3. Then, the end products were characterized by various techniques to evaluate their structural and morphology, thermal, optical, and electrochemical properties. From the XRD analysis, the orthorhombic and monoclinic structure of WO3 and hexagonal phase of CdS were observed and the average crystalline size is calculated as ± 19 nm. The microscopic examination such as SEM images showed smooth and tiny particle and HRTEM images showed rod shape morphology in the as-prepared particle. The presence of W and Cd elements are confirmed by EDAX analysis. The existences of functional groups related to W and Cd are analyzed by FTIR investigation and confirmed the chemical bonding nature. Thermal (TGA/DTA) analysis showed that as-prepared structures are stable up to 450°C temperature. The electrochemical investigations have been carried out, and their enhanced specific capacitances were calculated as 44 F/g for pure WO3 (a) nanostructures and 48, 170, and 172 F/g correspondingly for the hybridised WO3–CdS (b, c, d) nanocomposites. Abstract Background and Objective: The INSR gene, which encodes the insulin receptor, is a candidate gene for type 2 diabetes (T2D). The objective of the present study was to sequence some of the crucial exons in the INSR gene such as exon 2, which encodes the insulin-binding domain of the INSR protein, and exons 17-21, which encode the protein tyrosine kinase domain for mutations/polymorphisms, and to study their association with T2D in the South Indian population. Subjects and Methods: The INSR gene was sequenced in 25 normal glucose-tolerant (NGT) and 25 T2D subjects, and the variant found was genotyped by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism in 1,016 NGT and 1,010 T2D subjects, randomly selected from the Chennai Urban Rural Epidemiology Study. Results: Only one previously reported polymorphism, His1085His [rs1799817, (C-->T)], in exon 17 was detected by sequencing. The frequency of the 'T' allele of the His1085His polymorphism was significantly lower in the T2D subjects (31%) compared with the NGT subjects (35%) and showed significant protection against diabetes (odds ratio 0.85, 95% confidence interval 0.75-0.97, P=0.019). Regression analysis according to a recessive model taking the CC+CT genotype as the reference showed that the TT genotype was protective against diabetes (odds ratio 0.71, 95% confidence interval 0.50-0.99, P=0.048). Adjusting this P value by the number of competing models (three) using Bonferroni's correction, we found that the association finding did not remain significant. Conclusions: The 'T' allele of the His1085His polymorphism in the INSR gene shows significant protection against diabetes. Crumpled B, F co-doped graphene nanosheets (BFGO) have been synthesized using supercritical water as the solvent in a short reaction time of 1 h and were demonstrated for the fabrication of all-solid-state flexible supercapacitors (ASFS). As-synthesized BFGO delivered high specific capacitance with an NaVO 3 /H 2 SO 4 electrolyte (832 F g -1 ). Moreover, the fabricated ASFS showed excellent energy and power densities of 24 W h kg -1 and 800 W kg -1 at 1 A g -1 , respectively.
