This research was conducted approximately one year after Egyptian Agricultural Technical School (ATS) instructors attended workshops on integrating placement Supervised Agricultural Experience as an instructional tool in their programs. Following a year of implementation, the purpose of this study was to determine ATS teacher knowledge and ability to apply the 23 placement SAE competencies delivered in the workshops. To some extent, ATS instructors had knowledge of and could apply all 23 placement SAE competencies. However, Mean Weighted Discrepancy Scores for knowledge and ability to apply for all 23 placement SAE competencies were positive, indicating some level of need for future workshops on all topics. Based on the rankings, it was recommended that future in-service workshops should be conducted with this group of ATS teachers that focus on: (a) explaining the process of learning by doing; (b) defining the types of experience programs for ATS students; (c) identifying the role of the community in planning and conducting internships; (d) describing the evolution of supervised experience; and (e) explaining the relationship between internship and classroom instruction. Background and Objective: Spinal cord ischemia with subsequent paraplegia secondary to aortic coarctation repair procedures is rare, but it has serious consequences that can affect quality of life. Infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is used for non invasive spinal cord oxygenation monitoring to estimate cord perfusion and detect early cord ischemic changes. Several pharmacological agents have been used to improve cord perfusion, the main action of these agents is to improve regional/systemic perfusion and decrease ICP. In the current study, we studied magnesium sulphate and levosimendan for their vasodilating effect that might improve spinal cord perfusion as part of spinal cord protection. Methods: Forty two infants undergoing aortic coarctectomy under general anaesthesia were registered in double blinded randomized controlled study, three groups were included; group C received i.v. saline, group L received levosimendan in loading dose 6ug/kg i.v. for 15 minutes then maintenance dose 0.1 ug/kg/min till end of surgery and group M received levosimendan in loading dose 6 ug/kg i.v. for 15 minutes then maintenance dose 0.1 ug/kg/min in combination with magnesium sulphate in loading dose 25 mg/kg i.v. for 15 minutes then maintenance dose 10 mg/kg/hr till the end of surgery. The vital signs and NIRS values assessed before, during and after clamping of aorta. Results: All baseline demographic data were comparable among all groups except for height (cm), which was significantly lower in Group L compared to Group C (p = 0.013). NIRS values were comparable among the three groups throughout experimental protocol except after cross clamp at 20 minutes, where Group M was significantly higher compared to group C (P = 0.007). Heart rate, mean arterial blood pressure, total fluid intake, urine output, aortic cross clamp time and surgical time was comparable among all groups, were comparable among 3 studied groups. Conclusion: Adding magnesium sulphate to levosimendan has showed improvement in spinal cord perfusion during cross clamping as monitored by NIRS when compared to use of levosimendan alone or placebo in coarctectomy operations without affecting hemodynamics. The current investigation was conducted to test the response of five potato varieties; i.e., Arizona, Diamant, Markies, Spunta and Valor, to different irrigation levels during the summer seasons of 2018 and 2019 under Egyptian conditions. The irrigation levels were 100, 75 and 50% of evapotranspiration (ET). Different traits of vegetative growth, some chemical characters and yield were increased with increasing irrigation levels from 50 to 100% of ET for all tested varieties. There were increased bound water and proline content in leaves as well as dry matter and starch content percentages in tubers under drought conditions. Concerning potato varieties, Diamant in both growing seasons gave the highest value for most growth measurements, tuber yield and its components as well as, some parameters of growth analysis, physical and chemical characters and water use efficiency (WUE), followed by the Arizona variety. In terms of the interaction between potato varieties and irrigation levels, Diamant and Arizona were the most drought-tolerant cultivars, with 75 and 50 % ET, respectively, whereas Spunta cv. was the most sensitive. Summary: The main objective of this paper is to determine the optimal sizing of a biomass and fuel cell micro‐grid. The biomass generator will be utilized as the main source of power generation for the study area, while the fuel cell generator will be used as a backup generator to be used if the biomass generator fails to meet the energy requirements of the study area. In this research, excess energy will be used to produce hydrogen which is to be used by the fuel cells to generate energy instead of using batteries. To achieve the goal of this paper, a multi‐objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) technique has been proposed to solve the sizing problem for the introduced micro‐grid via an economical perspective which is the cost of energy (COE). The MOPSO algorithm tries to mitigate the COE to the lower values by keeping the loss of power supply probability (LPSP) as minimal as possible. Likewise, statistical analysis has been concluded to study the accuracy of the outcomes of the introduced technique. Three indicators have been offered, which are the process capability indices, the normal probability, and the control chart. The final contribution of the consequences of the two presented objective functions clears that the algorithm process is under statistical control, stable, and very precise. The optimum system from the economic perspective consists of two biomass gensets, 31 fuel cells, 65 electrolyzers, and 186 H2 tanks with an NPC of $ 2 314 842, COE of 0.335 $/kWh at an LPSP of 1.929%. Potato is a winter crop; the optimal temperature range is 20-25°C for haulm growth and 15-20 °C for tuberization. Recently climatic changes, provoked the importance of adaptability of varieties to high temperatures. For this reason, a study was conducted during 2018 and 2019 seasons at Vegetables Research Farm in Kaha, Qualiobia Governorate, to test the response of some potato varieties (Cara, Spunta, Barcelona and Valor) for cultivation during the summer months (first July, first August, first September and first October). Data were recorded to measure vegetative growth at 75 DAPS while yield parameters were recorded at harvesting time. Concerning differences between planting dates, the results showed that the planting in October gave the best results for vegetative growth and yield in all tested varieties, while September plantation came the second place. Planting during July and August caused dramatic effects on vegetative growth and yield. Furthermore, the cv. Cara gave higher significant growth measurements (stem length, weight of tubers plant, fresh and dry total weight, CGR and RGR). Also, Cara gave also the highest stem number, leaves number, tubers number and close to that obtained from cv. Valor in both seasons. Cara variety produced the highest tuber yield and its components followed by Barcelona, and then Valor and Spunta, in both seasons. Moreover, the interaction between the tested varieties and planting dates showed that the most tolerant cultivars during the high temperature months (July and August) was Cara in the first place, then Valor and Barcelona in the second rank, while Spunta cv. was the most sensitive cultivar. In general, it is recommended for early potato planting in summer months (July and August) under Egyptian conditions the choice of varieties which exhibit tolerance to stresses as Cara, Valor or Barcelona and avoid planting susceptible varieties as Spunta in these months. The aim of this paper is to introduce a comparative study of calculating electric fields underneath six phase transmission lines and double circuit three phase transmission lines. Different configurations of six phase and three phase lines are presented. The first three phase line is operating at 138 kV, and the second one is at 220 kV while the first six phase line is operating at 80 kV and the last one is at 127 kV. The electric fields are calculated at one meter above the earth level for both three phase and six phase lines using the charge simulation technique (CST). The maximum electric field for the introduced three and six phase transmission lines are calculated. The percentage reduction for the maximum electric field reached 20% for the same dimensions and 58% for different dimensions at the same height of the lower conductors from the ground level. In a search for promising antibacterial and antifungal compounds, two new series of 2, 3-bis(5-alkyl-2-thiono-1, 3, 5-thiadiazin-3-yl)propionic acid 1 and their corresponding N, N-dimethylpropionamide 6 have been synthesized. The reaction of 2, 3-diaminopropionate 3, carbon disulfide, formaldehyde, and the appropriate alkyl amines furnished the title compound 1. N, N-dimethylpropionamides 6 were obtained by the reaction of 1 with dimethyl amine in the presence of POCl(3). The newly prepared compounds were screened in vitro against certain strains of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and compared with nalidixic acid and ciprofloxacin. Moreover, the title compounds were tested for their antifungal activity in vitro against Candida albicans, phytopathogenic, Penicillum expansum and Trichoderma hazianum, and aflatoxin-producing Aspergillus flavus. These compounds exhibit varied activity against the tested pathogenic bacteria and remarkable inhibitory effects on growth or sporulation of some of the tested fungal species.
