Architectural education encompasses a variety of methods, with the primary goal of maintaining and improving education quality. In this context, the concept of accreditation has emerged as a system that ensures the preservation of certain standards and keeping these standards up to date in higher education. In Türkiye, the Association for Accreditation of Architectural Education (MIAK-MAK) has established certain accreditation requirements for Architectural Bachelor's Programs in 2021. According to these requirements, the targeted graduate profile is defined under the title of "Education and Learning Characteristics" of the program. The subheading "Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies that Graduates Should Acquire" summarizes the knowledge and skill areas that students need to acquire through the courses included in the program's curriculum, which are categorized into five titles. This study aimed to statistically evaluate the importance of the areas created for the knowledge, skills, and competencies that the graduate should gain from the perspective of the active student. The study focuses on the students of the Department of Architecture at KTO Karatay University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. In this context, a face-to-face survey was conducted with the students, and the survey results were evaluated using the Analytic Hierarchy Process method. By comparing each subheading with the others, a ranking system was created, and their importance levels were determined. The results of student evaluations indicated that especially issues related to life safety, structural systems, sustainability, and global architecture stood out prominently. Studies evaluating accreditation criteria from the student perspective are very limited in the literature. For this reason, as an important approach, this study points out the gap in the field for researchers working on accreditation. This research, which aims to provide a perspective from students, is expected to offer an alternative approach and provide a participatory view in educational research.

The concept of mass housing is a housing production model that emerged due to the rapid increase in urbanization. Mass housing has gained importance in the literature on architecture and urban planning because of the vast areas it covers in cities and the large population it serves. This study conducted a bibliometric analysis of publications on mass housing. The Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases were searched to obtain numerical data on the subject. Bibliographic maps of the publications from the WoS database were generated using the VOSviewer software. The mapping included country, journal activity, keyword, and author analyses. The finding that Türkiye has the highest number of publications and citations in the country analysis indicates the importance and relevance of the subject for Türkiye. Publication analysis by year revealed an increasing trend in publications in this field in recent years. This study is expected to serve as a valuable reference for researchers in mass housing research and future studies.

AbstractTurkey’s central government’s administrative structure includes a one-of-a-kind autonomous unit called muhtarlık that spans rural and urban neighborhoods with over 50,000 posts all over the country. Despite being a part of the central administration, muhtarlık is administered by local elections and is considered a hybrid institution that mediates citizens, the local government and the central administration. Muhtarlık originates in the late Ottoman Empire in 1829 as an attempt in modernizing state hierarchies and manages to continue its existence till now as the smallest unit of the administrative structure. However, the long history also causes blurred boundaries for the space the institution occupies. This paper focuses on this blurred space of muhtarlık as a possible policy making incubator and an accessible space for all the relevant stakeholders. In particular, the paper follows through the case study of two very different muhtarlıks in Istanbul to understand the nature of this unique administrative unit. The research concludes that the geographical, social and relational proximity of the muhtarlık with the public as a stop gap unit creates an immense networking example. The paper contributes to the interdisciplinary approaches to policy making by analyzing the juxtaposition of the two processes relevant to policy making and design, the policy analysis and the design thinking process, to model a dynamic policy making process that provides a participative approach. The analysis and observation help explore the possibilities of a space by combining valuable experiences of citizen engagement, governmental tradition and designerly thinking.

Introduction: Healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic due to inadequate adherence to infection control measures. Central-line-associated bloodstream infections (CLBSI) are one of the infections with an increased incidence. In this study, CLBSI-SIRs in 3 periods were compared, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on CLBSI observed in intensive care units (ICUs) was evaluated. The hand hygiene compliance rates were also examined for the same period. Materials and Methods: Comparisons of 2019, 2020, and 2021 were made by calculating the 3-year SIR, standardized utilization ratio (SUR), and SIR change rates between years in 12 adult ICUs. Calculations were made using the SIR and SUR calculation tool prepared by the General Directorate of Public Health of Turkey. The formula [(SIR/SUR of year Y – SIR/SUR of year X) / SIR/SUR x 100 of year X] was used when calculating the SIR/SUR change rates between periods. Results: In 2019 and 2020, SIR was detected as >1 only in the burn ICU. Anesthesia and Reanimation-1,2 and Internal Medicine-3 were the ICUs with the highest SIR increase rate in 2020. In 2021, it was determined as SIR1 in all periods. When the mean SIR of ICUs between 2019, 2020, and 2021 was compared, the rate was significantly higher in 2020 (p < 0.05). There was a significant increase in hand hygiene compliance in 2021 compared to previous years (p < 0.05). Conclusion: With the COVID-19 pandemic, an increase in CLBSI-SIR was observed in 2020. In 2021, a decrease in CLBSI-SIR and an increase in hand hygiene compliance were achieved by gaining experience in the follow-up and treatment of patients diagnosed with COVID-19, implementing infection control programs, and conducting on-site training and inspections.

Breast and ovarian cancers are women’s most commonly diagnosed cancers. Seeking an efficient anticarcinogenic compound is still a top priority regarding the aggressiveness of these cancers and the limited benefit of current therapies. Hydroquinidine (HQ) is a natural alkaloid used in arrhythmia and Brugada syndrome. As an ion channel blocker, HQ exhibits its activity by altering ion gradient and membrane potential. Considering the growing evidence of ion channel blockers’ antineoplastic potential, we were prompted to test HQ’s effect on breast and ovarian cancers. MCF-7 and SKOV-3 cell lines were used to inspect how HQ acts on survival, clonogenicity, migration, tumorigenicity, proliferation, and apoptosis. The molecular basis for the remarkable antiproliferative and proapoptotic effect of HQ in these cells was dissected by proteomics. CDK1, PSMB5, PSMC2, MCM2, MCM7, YWHAH, YWHAQ, and YWHAB proteins in HQ-treated MCF-7 cells, and RRM2, PSMD2, PSME2, COX2, COX4l1, and CDK6 proteins in HQ-treated SKOV-3 cells were found as low-abundant, which was noteworthy. Based on the in-depth analysis, upon HQ treatment, several cell cycle-related processes were found as suppressed, whereas apoptosis and ferroptosis pathways were found to be activated. The observed proteome alteration in cancer cells may provide mechanistic explanations for the growth-limiting effects of HQ at the cellular level.

International student and staff mobility, which is widely experienced worldwide, constitutes one of the most critical dimensions of the internationalization of higher education. The Erasmus program, initiated by the European Union, plays a significant role in increasing mobility, especially between European countries. Turkey is one of these countries that benefit significantly from the Erasmus program, and the Program became a driving force for Turkish universities to accelerate internationalization. In this study, quantitative research was conducted to evaluate the perceptions of international office professionals (IPs) on the impact of the Erasmus Program and institutional structures in the universities to administer internationalizaiton. 126 IPs working in international offices of Turkish universities representing public and foundation universities participated in the study. The survey results revealed that IPs believe in the positive impacts of the Erasmus student and staff mobility on the institutionalization of internationalization in their universities, and most universities in Turkey include internationalization in their strategic plan as one of the priorities. On the other hand, IPs stated that institutional support given to their offices by top management and other stakeholders is not sufficient to administer internationalization. Moreover, the T-test results between public and foundation universities revealed that developing internationalization is a more important priority for foundation universities than the public ones.

General Energy - Abstract
Covid-19 has reshaped the daily lives of people all around the world. Many regulations and changes have been made by the authorities in order to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus. Significantly, the regulations made by the government aim to reduce the number of people per square meter in closed areas and to increase the social distance between people. These regulations bring along new personal space and crowding perceptions. In this context, people's behaviors in many public spaces, from public transportation to grocery shopping, have gained a new texture. This change not only changed the perspective of the place but also caused a change in the perspective of people for one another. In this paper, environmental regulations aiming to adapt people's behaviors to social distance due to Covid-19 are examined in terms of personal space and crowding concepts. The purpose is to conduct an online interview with a retrospective approach and present the data as a narrative to determine the participants' perceptions of the random sampling method about personal space and crowding concepts before and after the pandemic. The research data were analyzed using the content analysis method in the QRS Nvivo qualitative data analysis program. In the results of the study, it was revealed that people's need for personal space in closed areas increased, and the crowding perception differed from the pre-pandemic due to psychological reasons through the example of grocery shopping.

- Abstract
Engineering is the use of scientific principles to design and construct machines, structures and other items, including bridges, tunnels, roads, vehicles and buildings. The engineering discipline encompasses a wide range of specialized engineering fields, each with particular emphasis on specific areas of applied mathematics, applied science, and application types. Engineering is a sub-discipline created by the interdisciplinary partnership that plays a very important role in the development and development of a country. Engineering is a profession that develops economical methods to present the forces and substances of nature for the benefit of human beings, using the knowledge gained through study, experimentation and application from the branches of mathematics and natural sciences wisely. Because the engineering approach; It is the human approach whose job is to solve problems. Employees who take the engineering approach know how to see the unseen, find the unthinkable, target optimum solutions and get the maximum benefit from the situation. On the other hand, although a very broad and detailed definition comes to mind with the question of what is engineering, we can say that engineering is the application of science and mathematics necessary to solve problems. Engineers understand how things work and find ways to use scientific discoveries in practical life. This book published; It was created from the presentations of both their own original studies and compilation studies from the literature presented by academics who teach in various engineering branches. The aim here is for engineers and academics interested in the subject to find important engineering studies together. Therefore, I believe that the book will fill an important gap and be useful to young researchers. In this context; We would like to thank everyone who contributed scientifically to the book, in short, who contributed to the preparation of the book for printing. I hope that this published boo, Mühendislik, köprüler, tüneller, yollar, araçlar ve binalar dahil olmak üzere makineler, yapılar ve diğer öğeleri tasarlamak ve inşa etmek için bilimsel ilkelerin kullanılmasıdır. - Abstract
The Mamluks, who were founded in Egypt and named as a Turkish State by the historians of the period, ruled in Egypt, Syria and the Hejaz between 1250-1517. The Mamluk sultans patronized art and artists and helped to produce numerous works symbolizing the power and wealth of the state. Among these works produced, there are also many writings written in religious, literary and historical genres. These works, which were carefully written and illuminated, were again covered with bindings that befit itself. The bindings which are quite flamboyant, reflect the magnificence of the period. For leather skins, brown tones were preferred and gold was used abundantly. In this article, the works in the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts with inventory numbers 1817, 1601, 2146, 1621, which constitute an example of XV century Mamluk bindings were examined in order to reveal the decorative features of the book container of the period. In addition, the conception of design and composition used in the works with both inner and outer cover ornaments was evaluated and the place of the works in the Mamluk bookbindings was discussed., Mısır’da kurulan ve dönemin tarihçileri tarafından bir Türk Devleti ola-rak isimlendirilen Memlûkler, 1250-1517 tarihleri arasında Mısır, Suriye ve Hicaz’da hüküm sürmüştür.

The mobility of international students is a crucial tool for the European Union's goal of creating a unified European Higher Education Area. Despite the initial assumption that all European universities and students can benefit equally from cross-university study experiences, certain European regions have become disproportionately favored over time. This has resulted in specific geographical patterns, challenging the principles of equality and openness in the EU's higher education policy. To better understand these spatial effects and enhance the EU's mobility policy effectiveness, this research analyzes the network properties of Erasmus+, comparing it with traditional degree-seeking activities. Utilizing a modularity measure with data from the EU and UNESCO, the study reveals significant subregional variations in the Erasmus+ geographical network, posing challenges for policy implementation and limiting mobility alternatives. - Abstract

Injury is one of the most common health problems people face in daily life. Finding the causes that prevent healing in wounds and eliminating these causes helps to accelerate the healing process. However, the increase in the elderly population, the inability of people living far from health institutions to access health services, increases in health expenditures and poorly managed wounds in complex patients can lead to the development of chronic wounds after a while. The aim of this study is to investigate the in vitro effects of red LED light, infrared LED light and hypochlorous acid on two different cell types. In the study, a low-cost and portable optical device was prepared for irradiation. Red light, infrared light, hypochlorous acid and the combination of these lights with hypochlorous acid were applied to the keratinocyte cell line (HaCaT) and fibroblast cell line (BJ). At the end of the experiment, keratinocyte and fibroblast cells reacted differently to the treatments. An increase was observed in keratinocyte after 48 and 72 hours, while a decrease in the fibroblast cells. The ability of photobiomodulation to promote wound healing is due to increased proliferation of cells. We think that the data we have obtained can help to wound healing in health fields., Yaralanma, gündelik yaşamda insanların sık karşılaştığı sağlık sorunları arasında yer almaktadır. In recent years, Postcolonial Studies has begun to occupy a large space and be discussed in the academic platform. Literature and cultural fields of study formed the starting point of Postcolonial Studies. However, Postcolonial Studies examines how the globalization of capital affects and transforms the social dynamics in the East in the modern era and its effects. South Asian historians, influenced by Gramsci's concept in the 1930s, laid the foundations for postcolonial thought in the 1970s, and the Subaltern Studies Collective was established at the initiative of Ranajit Guha. Included in subaltern worksVivek Chibber, who includes important names such as Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, Homi Bhabha, Ranajit Guha, Dipesh Chakrabarty, offers one of the comprehensive discussions on Post-colonial theory in his book Post-colonial Theory and the Ghost of Capitalism. He brings a serious critique of postcolonial theory, emphasizing that the main arguments that inspired Subaltern Studies are based on a series of analytical and historical misunderstandings., Son yıllarda Postkolonyal Çalışmalar akademik platformda büyük yer işgal etmeye ve tartışılmaya başlanmıştır. Bu çalışma kapsamında yapılan literatür araştırmasıyla konut ve çevresi için kullanıcıların memnuniyet düzeylerini ve buna bağlı olarak yaşam kalitesi ölçme amacı taşıyan modeller irdelenmiştir., Although the origin of the concept of quality of life dates back to ancient times, researches primarily reveal that the concept does not have a agreed definition upon. More than 100 definitions of the concept, which is expressed as life satisfaction, general welfare, life satisfaction have been recorded in different sources. Quality of life Studies aim to investigate the causes and effects of the factors that make up the sense of well-being of individuals, to provide information on the social and spatial distribution of satisfaction and dissatisfaction, for establishing effective policies and to follow the spatial effects of these policies, it is seen that different indicators are used for quality of life measures, especially in different countries and in many academic studies. It has been revealed in the quality of life studies that the quality of life of the person depends on social environment and physical environment factors. The relationship of the individual with the place and its environment constituted the main point of the research. Within the scope of this study the models aiming to measure the satisfaction levels of the users for the house and its surroundings and accordingly the quality of life were conducted.

Mass housing played an important role in changing the face of the cities. The Municipality Law No.5393 which gave the right to municipalities to build mass housing were factors that have accelerated the mass housing production. The main goal of local administrations is to build houses in the most rapid and economic way for group of people with low income. However, such production has posed problems in terms of quantity and quality. This research has been conducted to measure the satisfaction levels of users from mass housing projects which are implemented under the leadership of the municipality in Konya. The existing residences in the area selected for the project were demolished swiftly and then mass housing was again built swiftly. Determining how the users in the region are affected by this change and their satisfaction with this matter is one of the main goals of this study. A scale was created by scanning the housing satisfaction parameters in the literature for the purpose of this study. In order to find out the satisfaction with the physical space, 5 mass housing areas, which share similarity in terms of settlement texture density and housing typology, were selected as sample study area from the 22 projects built by the district municipality. In the satisfaction and space analysis, user satisfaction in the mass housing projects produced by the municipality was examined together with the demographic findings. This research will serve as a baseline for future research since it will provide ready and comparable data.

This article focuses on the Qur'an, identified as an "early Qur'anic manuscript" in Europe, cataloged as "uklu HANDS 468" in the library of the University of Groningen. The Qur'an is not a complete Qur'an and is a "mixed Qur'an". 1/4 of this Qur'an is written in Kufic script and the rest is written in Maghribi script. All the verses are collected in a single volume. The section written in Küfic calligraphy shows the characteristics of the 3rd Hijri period. On the other hand, the section written in Maghribi script belongs to the later period. Moreover, this Qur'an was both transliterated and translated into Latin by Johann Heinrich Hottinger. The Qur'an of "uklu HANDS 468" uses an ancient Qur'an unlike previous studies. In this respect, the Qur'an cataloged in "uklu HANDS 468" is significant. This article's main purpose is analyzing this Qur'an from the point of view of "Mushaf science". It is especially important because it reveals the "Mushaf history" of the Qur'ans thought to belong to the early period. For the purpose of the article, the Qur'an is analyzed in terms of its codicological, paleographic, orthographic and content features. In conclusion, the section written in Küfic script has has features from the last part of the third century Hijri. The section written in Maghribi script seems to be from the fifth or sixth century. Qur'ans from different locations and time periods could be assembled and bound together by the purchaser. This Qur'an belongs to the category of "mixed Qur'ans". It seems to be one of the first translations using an early Qur'anic manuscript. Based on its ornamentation, it can be said that the Qur'an has been interfered with in some places. Considering the script features of the Qur'an, the scribe's hand was shaking, especially in the section written in Küfic script, and this is evident in the writing. In other words, it may be a Qur'an copied in later years based on an early Qur'an manuscript. There is no clear information on this subject. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The COVID-19 pandemic increased virtual student mobility as an elective choice and an emergency solution. Whether brought on by the pandemic or encouraged as a solution for more sustainable international education programming, virtual student mobility is a complex method for making internationalisation more inclusive. This qualitative research examines 16 Erasmus students' experiences with emergency virtual student mobility during the COVID-19 pandemic, alongside a reflective assessment of two scholar-practitioners. Findings revealed three themes: teaching and learning challenges, the burden of environmental code-switching, and deficient intercultural socialisation as a result of missed experiences. Overall, results and findings show that some virtual student mobility programs were perceived as a concrete challenge, disappointment, and inadequate learning experience for Erasmus students. The results also challenge the purported inclusiveness of virtual student mobility programs. The paper concludes with the need to reconsider virtual student mobility as inclusive internationalisation, and offers concrete implications for policy, practice, and research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: This study investigated demographic characteristics and the prevalence of viremia among anti-HCV-positive patients. Methodology: Hospital records of adult patients with anti-HCV positivity between June 2016 and October 2018 were screened retrospectively. Demographic characteristics, genotype distribution, history of injection drug use (IDU), treatment data of HCV RNA-positive patients were investigated. Results: The rate of anti-HCV seropositivity was 1.7% and 54.5% of these were viremic. 69.5% of the 869 viremic patients were male. The mean age was 62 ± 15 (18–95) years for women and 42 ± 19 (18-90) years for men (p < 0.0001). 42.7% of these patients had IDU history. Regarding age, patients with IDU history accounted for 95% of the 18–29 age group. The most common genotype in patients younger than 40 was genotype 3, and genotype 1b in those older than 40. Only 52% of viremic patients had received DAA therapy. Also, 62.2% of patients aged < 40 and 36% of patients > 40 did not receive treatment (p < 0.0001). The SVR12 rate in patients receiving DAA treatment and follow-up was 100%; SVR24 was 99.5%. Conclusions: A shift in the demographic structure of HCV-infected patients due to the changing trends of the HCV transmission mode was observed in this study. On the other hand, the proportion of patients who received DAA therapy was low. A substantial proportion of untreated patients were young with a history of IDU. This indicates that without strategies targeting the patients, the patient load due to HCV-related cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma may persist in the future.

The increased use of social media has led to the preference of modern advertising methods, such as social media advertising, rather than traditional advertising methods. Social media advertising is preferred by businesses because it has no time or place restrictions, is effective, and its target audience can be determined. One of the most preferred advertising methods in social media advertising is advertisements made through social media influencers. Social media influencers are social media users with a high number of followers on social media platforms and the ability to influence their audience. The large number of commercials made by social media influencers created the need to legally evaluate these ads.Our study will primarily focus on concepts of advertising, social media and social media influencers. Next, advertisements made through social media influencers will be evaluated in terms of unfair competition regulations., Sosyal medya kullanımının artması geleneksel reklamcılık yöntemleri yerine sosyal medya reklamcılığı gibi modern reklamcılık yöntemlerinin tercih edilmesine neden olmuştur. Sosyal medya reklamcılığı zaman ve mekân kısıtlamasının bulunmaması, etkili olması, hedef kitlenin belirlenebilir olması nedenleriyle işletmeler tarafından tercih edilmektedir.Sosyal medya reklamcılığında en çok tercih edilen reklamcılık yöntemlerinden birisi sosyal medya etkileyicileri aracılığıyla yapılan reklamlardır. Sosyal medya etkileyicileri, sosyal medya platformlarında yüksek sayıda takipçisi bulunan ve takipçi kitlesini etkileme yeteneğine sahip sosyal medya kullanıcılarıdır. Sosyal medya etkileyicileri tarafından yapılan reklamların çokluğu bu reklamların hukuken değerlendirilmesi ihtiyacını doğurmuştur.Çalışmamızda öncelikle temel olarak reklam, sosyal medya ve sosyal medya etkileyicisi kavramları incelenecek sonrasında ise sosyal medya etkileyicileri aracılığıyla yapılan reklamlar haksız rekabet düzenlemeleri kapsamında değerlendirilecektir.
