Received on 12 June 2022. В статье рассматриваются бытовавшие в одной уральской семье варианты фамилии, которая в настоящее время звучит как Дианов. Приводятся фиксации вариантов, имеющихся в различных официальных документах, сохранившихся в семейном архиве и в Государственном архиве Свердловской области, а также в частной переписке XVIII–ХХ вв., с прослеживанием хронологии варьирования. Выдвигается гипотеза о первоначальном виде фамилии и производящего личного имени, а также об этимоне последнего. Рассматриваются имеющиеся в литературе этимологии фамилии Дианов. Разграничиваются анализируемая фамилия и фамилия Дианов, оцениваемая исследователями как семинарская и возводимая к имени античной богини Дианы. Излагаются версии причин деформации фамилии в течение двух веков: указываются как объективные языковые причины (исчезновение звука, обозначаемого в кириллице буквой ѣ, а затем и самой буквы, мена букв е/и в связи с редукцией безударных гласных, деэтимологизация фамилии и др.), так и субъективные факторы (недостаточная квалифицированность работников отделов записи актов гражданского состояния, небрежность при оформлении документов в разные периоды бытования фамилии, неразборчивый почерк и т. п.). Представлена статистика бытования различных вариантов фамилии в настоящее время (по данным интернета), приведены образованные от вариантов фамилии ойконимы и годоним, зафиксированные в России. Предложена интерпретация фамилии Деянин / Диянин в свете рассмотренных фонетических процессов. Делается вывод о возможности самостоятельного пути развития созвучных фамилий, имеющих разные семейные привязки. The paper discusses the variation of a surname that currently sounds like Dianov over the history of one family. Different variants were retrieved from the official documents preserved in the family archive and from the State Archive of the Sverdlovsk Region, as well as from private correspondence of the 18th–20th centuries, which helped restore the chronology of changes. The authors suggest their own hypothesis about the original form of the surname and the deriving personal name, as well as about the etymon of the latter. In parallel, they also consider the etymologies of the surname Dianov available in literature. The analyzed surname is distinguished from the surname Dianov which, as the authors believe, has clerical origin tracing to the name of the ancient goddess Diana. The deformation of the surname over the course of two centuries could be caused by both objective linguistic factors (the extinction of the sound denoted in Cyrillic by the letter yat, and then the letter itself, the interchange of the letters e/i due to the reduction of unstressed vowels, the loss of etymology of the surname, etc.), as well as subjective factors (insufficient qualifi cations of employees of civil registration departments, negligence in the preparation of documents, illegible handwriting, etc.). The paper also provides statistics of the existing variants of the surname at the present time (according to the Internet), as well as settlement and street names in Russia derived from it. The surname Deyanin / Diyanin receives a new interpretation in the light of the considered phonetic processes. The conclusion is made about the possibility of an independent development of similar surnames with different origin. The author reflects on the fate of the most popular dictionary in Russia, written by the lexicographer, ethnographer and folklorist V. I. Dahl, analyzing the principles of building this "encyclopedia of Russian folk life of the first half of the 19th century" (V. V. Vinogradov).

Райноховой о роли отчества в русской номинативной традиции и культуре (Вопросы ономастики. 2020. Т. 17, № 2). Никоим образом не оспаривая изложенных в статье положений, автор пытается более подробно обсудить вопрос о возникшей сравнительно недавно в русском обществе тенденции отказа от употребления отчеств и даже воинствующего неприятия их. Признавая эту тенденцию достаточно активной, автор останавливается на причинах ее существования, среди которых прежде всего видится отрицательное отношение ко всем без исключения константам советского строя. Поскольку употребление отчеств в официально закрепленной полной формуле личного именования стало обязательным именно после 1917 г., постольку оно объявляется советским пережитком. В качестве второй причины указывается тесное взаимодействие россиян с зарубежными партнерами, а также длительное пребывание за рубежом, свободное владение иностранными языками, прежде всего английским, — отсюда усвоение западных традиций именования, не предполагающих именование по отцу. Особенно остро воспринимается необходимость наличия отчества в официальных документах при получении российского гражданства детьми из смешанных семей. В качестве причин отмечаются также позиция российских СМИ, предпочитающих неиспользование отчеств в своих новостных программах и ток-шоу, и увеличение количества неполных семей, в которых нет отца, когда необходимость регистрации отчества влечет за собой сложные формальные и психологические проблемы. Признавая существенность этих проблем, автор все же считает их в той или иной степени маргинальными и подчеркивает актуальность отчества для современной русской культуры и номинативной практики. Источником материала для заметок послужил контент интернет-форумов, а также личные записи автора. These notes were inspired by a recent article by Boris Norman and Natalja Rajnochová on the role of patronymics in the Russian naming tradition and culture (Voprosy onomastiki, 2020, Vol. 17, Iss. 2). Without disputing its provisions in any way, the author attempts to take a closer look into the present tendency to omit patronymics or even abhor their use. Recognizing this as a growing trend in the Russian culture, the author refl ects upon its causes, foremost of which is the general aversion for all the formal manifestations of the Soviet system. Since the use of patronymics (in the official formula) became mandatory exactly after 1917, it is commonly perceived as a Soviet relic. The second reason is the adoption of Western naming practices not requiring the use of a father’s name — due to Russia’s greater involvement in the international communication, extensive overseas travelling, and fluency in foreign languages, primarily English. The issue of the required use of patronymic in official documents is particularly acute when children from mixed families obtain Russian citizenship. Other factors for doing away with patronymics include Russian media language, as in most news programs and talk shows it is carefully avoided, and the increase in the number of single-parent families (no father) where the need to register a patronymic entails complex formal and ethical problems. Yet, however pertinent these problems are in the modern society, the author considers them relatively marginal and argues the relevance of patronymics for modern Russian culture and the naming practice. The author supports this view by giving evidence from Internet forums, as well as the author’s personal experience.

Статья посвящена актуальной проблеме переименования городских объектов, которое обусловлено постоянно возникающими требованиями представителей общественности избавиться от достаточно большого числа названий в честь наиболее одиозных для современности деятелей советской эпохи. Заинтересованными сторонами в этом процессе оказываются три макросубъекта: физический (жители города и общество в целом), административный (топонимическая комиссия при городской администрации) и активизировавшийся в последние 10–15 лет религиозный (городское духовенство). В XXI в. каждое подобное переименование становится все более дискуссионным и вызывает весьма противоречивые оценки. Представляется, что одним из путей решения возникающих проблем могут стать опросы городского населения. Обычно такие опросы проводятся среди жителей той или иной улицы при ее переименовании, однако на результаты нередко оказывают решающее влияние моменты, не связанные с оценкой собственно урбанонима: для жителей расположенных на улице домов решение диктует нежелание менять паспорт в связи с изменением прописки, для работников фирм и предприятий, офисы которых находятся на данной улице, вызывают неприятие неизбежные сложности со сменой юридического адреса. Обсуждение переименований активно ведется в социальных сетях, однако там оно проходит стихийно, излишне эмоционально и плохо поддается статистическому учету. В статье обсуждаются результаты проведенного среди студентов двух уральских вузов пилотного опроса по проблемам переименования улиц Екатеринбурга: отношение к идеологическим названиям советской эпохи, к возвращению дореволюционных названий улиц и т. п. Обращение именно к студенческой аудитории вызвано следующими причинами: во-первых, предполагалось, что молодые люди легче, чем старшее поколение, реагируют на те или иные изменения в урбонимиконе; во-вторых, среди студентов немало иногородних, поэтому они не связаны привычкой к старым названиям. Анализ результатов обнаруживает новые аспекты проблемы. The paper addresses a topical problem of renaming city objects, arising from repeated claims for removing a large number of names and titles associated with the most odious figures of the Soviet era. The three major subject groups lobbying the process are the citizenry (local residents and society as a whole), official bodies (toponymic commissions under city administrations), and the religious community (urban clergy) that has grown active over the past 10–15 years. In the 21st century, each renaming case becomes more debatable and receives mixed reception. Public polls seem to present a solution to emerging problems. Typically, such surveys are conducted among the residents of a given street that is a subject of renaming, but the public opinion tends to be shaped by factors unrelated to the place name itself: individual respondents are often unenthusiastic about changing the passport due to a change in registration and local business owners begrudge the inevitable complications of changing the legal address. Renaming disputes are a common thing for social networks, but these are hard to track and not easily quantifiable, due to the spontaneous and overemotional nature of information. The article discusses the results of a pilot survey conducted among students of two Ural universities on the problems of renaming the streets of Ekaterinburg. It aimed to measure their attitude to the ideological names of the Soviet era, the option of restoring pre-revolutionary street names, etc. The choice of students a focus group is explained by several factors: first, young people are usually more receptive to change, secondly, many of them are non-residents, therefore they are not accustomed to the old names. An analysis of the results reveals new aspects of the problem. The article addresses the phenomenon of unoffi cial urbanonymy exemplifi ed by urban place names of the Russian city of Ekaterinburg. With the term “city facilities” applying broadly to streets, squares, neighborhoods, etc., as well as to the elements of social, educational, cultural, industrial infrastructure, the authors examine the factors affecting the coinage of unoffi cial city names. This informal naming is regarded as an act of active social involvement in the creation of the “urban text”. To identify the intentions of such collective nominator, a survey was conducted among university students, post-graduates, and teaching staff, as well as senior school students (the total number of respondents comprising 300 people). The survey covered both permanent and temporary residents, including city guests. The compiled questionnaire included specifi cation of the age and gender parameters of the audience, the respondents’ attitude to unoffi cial names, their views on why and where these urbanonyms are used. As the survey revealed, the key feature shared by all the creators of informal urbanonymy is their status as old-timers: the familiarity of nominators with informal place names attests to their deep involvement in the city life. For non-residents, the growing grasp of informal urbanonyms turns out to be a part of “initiation into old-timers”. Although the age characteristics of nominators do not seem particularly relevant with most respondents, one can still say that informal urbanonymy emerges in the youth environment. The analysis of the survey reveals two closely related trends affecting the development of unoffi cial urbanonymy, namely, the contraction of offi cial names, manifested in morpheme clipping, shortening of names, and the tendency to “carnivalize” urban space, generating original, highly expressive fi gurative naming cases. Статья посвящена исследованию феномена неофициальной урбанонимии на примере урбанонимов города Екатеринбурга. Понимая под городскими топообъектами не только улицы, площади, микрорайоны и т. п., но и социально-бытовые, учебные, культурные, промышленные объекты (здания и строения), авторы исследуют факторы, влияющие на появление неофициальных городских названий. Неофициальная урбанономинация расценивается как акт активного вмешательства городского социума в создание «городского текста». Для оценки интенций социума-номинатора проведено анкетирование среди преподавателей, аспирантов и студентов вузов, а также старшеклассников (общее число респондентов — 300 человек). Среди анкетируемых присутствуют как горожане, так и люди, приехавшие в Екатеринбург недавно или являющиеся гостями города. Разработанная авторами анкета включает вопросы, позволяющие выявить возрастные и гендерные параметры социума, отношение респондентов к неофициальным названиям, их представления о причинах возникновения и сферах бытования новых урбанонимов. Проведенный опрос показал, что главным параметром, характеризующим создателей неофициальной урбанонимии, является их статус старожилов: знание неофициального урбанонимикона является свидетельством глубинной включенности номинаторов в жизнь города. Для негорожан знакомство с неофициальными урбанонимами оказывается элементом «посвящения в старожилы». Хотя возрастная характеристика номинаторов не представляется респондентам существенной, все же можно говорить о том, что неофициальная урбанонимия создается в молодежной среде. Результаты анкетирования демонстрируют два тесно переплетающихся фактора, влияющих на развитие неофициальной урбанонимии: это реализация принципа экономии языковых усилий, проявляющаяся в процессах усечения, стяжения официальных названий, и тенденция к карнавализации городского пространства, порождающая яркие, насыщенные экспрессией образные именования. Sheep hips have a natural non-spherical femoral head similar to a cam-type deformity in human beings. By performing an intertrochanteric varus osteotomy, cam-type femoro-acetabular impingement (FAI) during flexion can be created. We tested the hypotheses that macroscopic lesions of the articular cartilage and an increased Mankin score (MS) can be reproduced by an experimentally induced cam-type FAI in this ovine in vivo model. Furthermore, we hypothesized that the MS increases with longer ambulatory periods. Sixteen sheep underwent unilateral intertrochanteric varus osteotomy of the hip with the non-operated hip as a control. Four sheep were sacrificed after 14, 22, 30, and 38-weeks postoperatively. We evaluated macroscopic chondrolabral alterations, and recorded the MS, based on histochemical staining, for each ambulatory period. A significantly higher prevalence of macroscopic chondrolabral lesions was found in the impingement zone of the operated hips. The MS was significantly higher in the acetabular/femoral cartilage of the operated hips. Furthermore, these scores increased as the length of the ambulatory period increased. Cam-type FAI can be induced in an ovine in vivo model. Localized chondrolabral degeneration of the hip, similar to that seen in humans (Tannast et al., Clin Orthop Relat Res 2008; 466: 273-280; Beck et al., J Bone Joint Surg Br 2005; 87: 1012-1018), can be reproduced. This experimental sheep model can be used to study cam-type FAI.

Im Fruhjahr 2009 wurden mehrere Falle von Infestationen mit Ornithonyssus bacoti («Tropische Rattenmilbe») bei Heimnagern am Institut fur Parasitologie in Zurich diagnostiziert. Obschon geeignete Wirtstiere zugegen waren, wurden auch die Besitzer Opfer der Milbeninfestation. Die Tierbesitzer zeigten stark juckende, in Gruppen angeordnete erythematose Papeln, teils mit zentralem Blaschen. Kinder, die haufigen und engen Kontakt zu ihren Nagern hatten, waren besonders stark betroffen. Der Therapieerfolg bei den Besitzern war teils unbefriedigend, da anfanglich die Ursache der manifesten Symptome unklar war. Der Milbenbefall an den Tieren wurde oft erst entdeckt, nachdem auch die Besitzer von der Infestation betroffen waren. Ausser vermehrter Unruhe, struppigem Fell und Juckreiz hatten die Besitzer keine Symptome an ihren Tieren festgestellt. Rasche Heilung der Betroffenen konnte nur dort erreicht werden, wo die Parasiten eliminiert wurden, d.h. wo auch die Tiere behandelt, die Kafige gereinigt und die Umgebung saniert wurden. Die eindeutige Diagnose «Befall mit Ornithonyssus bacoti» kann nur nach morphologischer Identifikation einer Milbe erfolgen, welche am ehesten in der Umgebung der Tiere gefunden wird. Die Tierbesitzer sollten auch uber die zoonotische Bedeutung von O. bacoti informiert werden.

13C NMR spectra of the three title polymers have been determined for polymers of different tacticities. Assignments to the various possible HH/HT/TT and m/r dyad structures were made. These were facilitated by the use of optically active monomers in the case of 1 and 3. In the precursor polymers the cis double bonds in the HH dyads were less readily hydrogenated than those in the other types of dyad. Methyl substitution parameters are summarized for the hydrogenated polymers and their unsaturated trans precursors.

О результатах исследовательских проектов по изучению диалектной лексики, организованных кафедрой русского языка и общего языкознания Уральского федерального университета.

Infections with the intestinal protozoan parasite Giardia in dogs and cats are common. Clinical signs vary from asymptomatic to small bowel diarrhea and associated discomfort. The control of infections in dogs is frequently a frustrating issue for animal owners and veterinarians. Drugs with antiprotozoal activity such as fenbendazole and metronidazole are recommended, however, they do not show 100% efficacy and superinfections occur regularly. Ronidazole is currently the drug of choice for the treatment of Tritrichomonas foetus in cats and there is now limited information available about its efficacy against Giardia spp. In the kennel investigated, dogs regularly showed loose feces and the presence of Giardia (assemblage C, renamed as G. canis) cysts. An elimination strategy of this parasite involving strict hygiene management and disinfection of the enclosures with 4-chlorine-M-cresol, oral treatment with ronidazole (30-50mg/kg BW bid for 7 days) and two shampooings (containing chlorhexidine) at the beginning and the end of the treatments was implemented for a group of 6 dogs. As a control another group of 7 dogs was transferred to the disinfected enclosures and shampooed, but left untreated. Dog feces were tested for the presence of Giardia cysts (SAF concentration technique) or Giardia antigen with a commercial ELISA (NOVITEC(®)) and a quick immunochromatography-based test (SensPERT(®)) before and between 5 and 40 days after the last treatment. All ronidazole-treated dogs were negative for Giardia cysts and antigen up to 26 days after the last treatment, while between 1 and 5 of the control animals tested positive in each of the test series. At this point, also dogs of the control group were again moved into clean enclosures, shampooed twice and treated with ronidazole. Five, 12 and 19 days after the last treatment, the dogs in the control group tested negative for Giardia cysts and antigen. However, all animals had again positive results at later time points in at least one of the three applied diagnostic techniques within 33-61 days after treatment. Furthermore, all dogs had episodes of diarrhea (for 1-4 days) within 14-31 days after treatment and unformed feces during the whole experiment. The positive effect of ronidazole against Giardia infections in dogs could be confirmed in this study. In particular, the combination of ronidazole treatment combined with the disinfection of the environment and shampooing of the dogs was highly effective in reducing Giardia cyst excretion and may therefore constitute an alternative control strategy for canine giardiosis.

The article is devoted to the 50th anniversary of the Toponymic Expedition of Ural University (presently, Ural Federal University). The author reflects upon the reasons for the outstanding scientific association’s longevity, and its main working principles. Автор размышляет о причинах научного долголетия и основных принципах работы этого выдающегося научного объединения. Purpose: A non-spherical femoral head is a known risk factor for early osteoarthritis of the hip joint. Recently, a new pathomechanism termed femoro-acetabular impingement has been postulated as an underlying cause. This mechanism is postulated to represent an abutment conflict between the non-spherical portion of the head/neck junction and the acetabular rim during extreme flexion and internal rotation. It is thought to lead to repetitive trauma resulting in subsequent lesions of the labrum and adjacent cartilage at the acetabular rim or femoral head. The aim of this research study is to confirm in an animal model, that a non-spherical head contour leads to primary lesions at the acetabulum and at the nonspherical portion of the femoral head similar to the findings in human hip joints. Methods: Sheep have been chosen as animal model since the acetabular anatomy is close to that in humans including the presence of a labrum and the femoral head has a distinct non-spherical extension of the cartilage in its superior portion. By performing an intertrochanteric adduction osteotomy of the proximal femur the non-spherical portion was rotated toward the weight bearing zone and created similar impingement conditions during the end range of flexion as postulated in young adult human beings. In a pilot study with 6 sheep localized peripheral hip joint lesions could be produced at the acetabular rim and the non-spherical portion of the head similar to the finding in humans. For this study a total of 16 sheep was chosen. The sheep were divided into 4 groups, each group with 4 sheep that were sacrificed after 14, 22, 30, 38-weeks after surgery. After sacrifice the joint cartilage was evaluated for visible alterations macroscopically according to grading by Beck et al. Thereafter samples were harvested of standardized segments on both, the operated and non-operated (control) sides for histological work-up using conventional staining methods with Toluidin-blue O to evaluate proteoglycan depletion and grading of cartilage alterations according to Mankin. Results: Localized labral lesions as also typically seen in humans were present in 14 out of 16 hips on the operated side versus 2 lesions on the unoperated side. Cartilage lesions including flaps, tears or superficial fraying were seen in all 16 operated hips in the caudodorsal segment of the acetabulum versus alterations in 3 out of 16 hips on the unoperated side (different stages of alteration showed in Figure). Histochemical staining confirmed the macroscopic findings and showed statistically significant higher degenerative changes according to the Mankin staging in the caudodorsal segment on the operated side versus the non-operated side. Conclusions: With the presented animal model a cam impingementmechanism and localized, peripheral intraarticular lesions of the hip similar those seen in humans could be reproduced. Therefore a model of development of early osteoarthritis in the hip with different stages of the disease could be defined. This allows to develop and to evaluate new invasive and non-invasive treatment methods for this pathomechanism. It will be also used to further clarify the sequential steps of the osteoarthritic process and help to define the ideal time point for surgical interventions.
