A successful transformation of Borassus flabellifer flower into activated carbon (AC) with the highest intakes of sulfur (S) contents in the S-doped AC process turned the materials to be a potential candidate for supercapacitor applications. The suitable proportion of KOH during activation and the effect of thiourea as a precursor were other major factors in the transformation process. Many experiments have left the possibility of the effects of the high S content of the materials unnoticed; this attempt explored the result of the high content S-doped mesoporous AC via hydrothermal method. Moreover, doping sulfur and oxygen functionalities on its carbon matrix helps to improve its electrochemical properties. HRSEM/EDX with elemental mapping evidenced the porous sheetlike morphologies. XRD, Raman spectra and nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherm analysis were studied. The reported specific surface area of the AC (PM6) is found to be 474.99 m2/g with the highest 10 wt% of S at an activation temperature of 600 °C for 1 h with 30 wt% of KOH. This S-doped AC exhibits high specific capacitance of 275 F/g at a current density of 1 A/g. The symmetric supercapacitors cell (SSC) exhibited specific capacitance of 137.7 F/g at 1 A/g, with enhanced superior cycling stability with 95.4% retention after 3000 cycles at 1 A/g. The SSC delivers energy density of 9.345 Wh/kg and power density of 687 W/kg.

The world's energy consumption is estimated to be 3.36 × 1020 J per annum and is projected to increase to up to 6.3 × 1020 J in the year 2050. Due to the concern on environmental problems caused by the use of those fossil fuels, considerable attention has been given to biodiesel production as an alternative to petrodiesel. Biodiesel is advised for use as an alternative fuel for conventional petroleum-based diesel chiefly because it is a renewable, domestic resource with an environmentally friendly emission profile and is readily biodegradable. Hence, the recent focus is to find oil bearing plants that produce non-edible oils as the feedstock for biodiesel production. This paper aims at analyzing the preparation, physical and chemical properties such as acid value, fatty acid percentage, iodine value and sponification value, density, viscosity of Coconut, Palm, Sunflower, and Jatropha oil. It is seen that generally the plant species oil have low saturation and low polyunsaturation value but high mono saturated fatty acid for the production of biodiesel. On assessment it reveals that Jatropha oil has 44.7% of Oleic acid, 32.8% of Linoleic acid. From the study it is inferred that fatty acid is predominant in Jatropha oil. So it is suitable for the production of biodiesel

This deliverable describes the objectives, approach, planning and results of the first pilot round, and updates the validation design for round 2. The objectives of the first pilot round were directed towards enhancing the quality of the scenarios and services in the next round, through validation activities with stakeholders and technical verification. Results demonstrated that showcase scenarios described realistic solutions to real stakeholder problems, subject to enhancements identified during validation. Software elements for replacement or further development were identified. In conclusion, the pilots indicate that the utility of advanced learning technologies can be generalized across different stakeholder groups and pedagogic problems, in the areas of positioning, feedback and knowledge sharing.In the second round, the validation objectives are extended to provide an early evaluation of the project using primarily quantitative methods, while continuing formative stakeholder evaluation and requirements gathering activities.
