Strategic management is planning, monitoring, analysis and evaluation that is carried out on an ongoing basis from all the needs needed by organizations both in the world of education in an effort to achieve their goals. The purpose of strategic management in the world of education is an effort to improve education based on established laws. The implementation of strategic management of the school environment includes internal and external analysis and reaches a strategic evaluation to determine the extent to which results have been achieved. This study aims to describe the strategic management of Uisu Siantar Private High School based on an analysis of the internal environment. The internal environment is an environment that has a direct influence on the operation of educational institutions, such as curriculum, students, teaching and educational staff, facilities and infrastructure as the potential of the school itself, the competitive situation, the situation of educational customers, and graduate users. Everything influences the determination of strategies that are expected to support the school in achieving its goals. This study uses a qualitative approach and descriptive type. While collecting data using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data presentation and conclusion. The application of strategic management in education is carried out through the preparation of strategy formulation and strategy implementation, by combining school-based management.

Guru sebagai tenaga pendidik disekolah diharapkan memiliki kompetensi sesuai dengan Undang-undang No. 14 Tahun 2005 Tentang Guru dan Dosen Pasal 10 pasal 1 mengungkapkan guru harus memiliki kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi kepribadian, kompetensi sosial, dan kompetensi profesional. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan disalah satu sekolah penggerak angkatan pertama di kabupaten Karawang yaitu SMAN 6, PKM dalam bentuk pelatihan tersebut dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan yang dilakukan selama 2 hari pada tanggal 13-15 Juli 2022. Pelaksanaan pelatihan guru dimulai dari kebutuhan kepala sekolah SMAN 6 Karawang yang menceritakan terdapat kebingungan tenaga pendidik disekolah tersebut terhadap pengoptimalan tehnologi digital dalam kegiatan pembelajaran disekolah secara khusus terhadap penerapan kurikulum merdeka yang telah diadopsi sekolah sejak 2021. Kegiatan PKM yang dilakukan di SMAN 6 Karawang sangat membantu guru memasuki tahun ajaran baru, pengembangan kemampuan guru merupakan salah satu upaya yang dilakukan sekolah terhadap kebutuhan tenaga pendidik disekolah tersebut. During the pandemic, the Ministry of Education, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia launched a policy of flexibility in the use of school operational assistance funds (BOS). This policy aims to make school principals as managers in schools able to adjust the budget for school needs in accordance with conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to describe the quality management and financing of education during the COVID-19 period at the UISU Siantar Private High School. This research is descriptive research. Data were collected through observation, literature study, document analysis, and interviews. The results showed that UISU Siantar Private High School had managed education financing in accordance with government expectations and BOS fund management standards. In the future, it is hoped that the management of the UISU Siantar Private High School, especially the principal and treasurer, will continue to be responsive and transparent in the preparation of school activities and budgets (RKAS) and the use of BOS funds, especially regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, which has not been completed until now.

Kesehatan hutan telah menjadi salah satu kriteria pencapaian dalam manajemen pengelolaan hutan yang lestari. Identifikasi kondisi kesehatan vegetasi merupakan salah satu upaya penting dalam pengelolaan tanaman, sesuai kaidah silvikultur untuk menjaga kesehatan vegetasi hutan. Arboretum merupakan tempat berbagai jenis vegetasi ditanam dan dikembangbiakkan untuk tujuan penelitian atau pendidikan, keperluan koleksi dan konservasi ex-situ (di luar habitat). Pentingnya mengetahui kesehatan vegetasi di Arboretum merupakan salah satu teknik silvikultur di dalam mempertahankan keberadaan spesies lokal dan spesies unggulan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Arboretum KPHP Kerinci Unit I. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode sampling. Metode sampling digunakan untuk menilai kesehatan vegetasi yang berada didalam klaster plot. Identifikasi status kesehatan dilakukan dengan metode pemantau kesehatan hutan atau Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) yaitu metode penilaian kesehatan pohon dengan mengelompokkan jenis dan tingkat kerusakan per individu tanaman. Hasil pengamatan melalui metode Forest Health Monitoring diperoleh hasil bahwa kondisi vegetasi di Arboretum KPHP Kerinci Unit 1 masih tergolong sehat dengan Nilai Indeks Kerusakan (NIK) sebesar 2,08 (skala 21), dengan persentase vegetasi sehat (74,81%), tingkat kerusakan ringan (23,42%), dan tingkat kerusakan sedang (1,78%).

Bipolar merupakan gangguan perubahan mood dengan fase manik dan depresif yang mengganggu aktivitas individu. Bipolar berkontribusi pada kejadian kasus bunuh diri, sehingga penting mendapat perhatian. Untuk menjaga kondisi psikologis orang dengan bipolar dapat digunakan beragam terapi, diantaranya adalah terapi seni. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami pengalaman orang dengan bipolar yang memanfaatkan terapi seni untuk menjaga kondisinya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). Informan penelitian ini adalah satu orang dengan bipolar (ODB) yang mempertahankan kondisinya dengan menggunakan terapi seni. Dari hasil analisis data muncul lima tema yakni: (1) gambaran fase depresi, 2) cara katarsis saat depresi, 3) gambaran sinestesia yang dialami, 4) seni sebagai media katarsis, dan 5) dampak katarsis melalui seni. Kepekaan dan kesadaran yang dimiliki ODB terhadap kondisi dirinya menjadi kunci penting, agar mampu memilih aktivitas yang pas guna menghadapi perubahan afek. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah terapis perlu membangun kepekaan dan kesadaran klien terhadap kondisi dirinya, agar klien dapat bertahan dengan perubahan afek yang dapat terjadi secara tiba-tiba.

Hasil hutan bukan kayu (HHBK) adalah hasil hutan kecuali kayu seperti produk turunan dari tumbuhan dan hewan beserta budidayanya. Beberapa jenis produk HHBK mempunyai nilai ekonomi yang tinggi di Provinsi Jambi antara lain: rotan, bambu, aren, madu, jernang, gaharu, minyak tengkawang, minyak atsiri, gondorukem, buah-buahan tropis dan lain-lain. Salah satu pemanfaatan HHBK di Kawasan KPHP Unit XIII Muaro Jambi di Desa Jambi Tulo, Kecamatan Maro Sebo, yaitu masyarakatnya memanfaatkan pohon aren yang banyak tumbuh alami, dengan mengolah nira dari pohon aren menjadi gula merah cetak dan dengan pengolahan yang sederhana. Hasil olahan gula merah cetak pada industri rumah tangga masyarakat umumnya masih bermutu rendah karena pengolahan belum dilakukan secara baik, sehingga produk yang dihasilkan cepat meleleh, karena masih mengandung kadar air cukup tinggi 15-17%. Upaya meningkatkan nilai jual gula aren cetak dengan cara mengolah menjadi gula aren granular (gula semut), solusi yang ditawarkan terhadap permasalahan tersebut, diantaranya: diberikannya penyuluhan dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat mengenai pembuatan gula semut dari gula merah cetak secara tradisional dengan menyediakan alat pembuatan gula semut dari gula cetak menjadi bentuk granular (gula semut).

Keberadaan jenis-jenis pohon hutan yang terdapat di kompleks percandian Muaro Jambi sangat penting untuk dipertahankan. Kegiatan eksplorasi botani di kompleks percandian Muaro Jambi sangat penting untuk dilaksanakan dalam rangka melakukan inventarisasi dan identifikasi jenis-jenis pohon yang ada. Data yang diperoleh akan berguna dalam kegiatan konservasi dan pelestarian tumbuhan hutan tropis secara menyeluruh. Penelitian dilaksanakan di lokasi Candi Koto Mahligai, di areal resapan air/sepanjang jalur sungai di Kompleks Candi Muaro Jambi, Desa Muara Jambi, Kecamatan Muaro Sebo, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi dan Laboratorium Silvikultur dan Herbarium Fakultas Kehutanan Universitas Jambi. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama enam bulan dari bulan April sampai dengan bulan Oktober 2018. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis-jenis pohon yang terdapat di areal Candi Mahligai dan areal resapan air kompleks Candi Muaro Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Tahapan kegiatan penelitian terdiri dari eksplorasi, pembuatan spesimen herbarium, studi pustaka, identifikasi Jenis. Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu suku yang dijumpai dalam wilayah Candi Koto Mahligai dan Sempadan sungai yang terdapat dalam kompleks Candi Muaro Jambi adalah sebanyak 17 suku, antara lain : Anacardiaceae, Burseraceae, Cucurbitaceae, Dilleniaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae, Hyperaceae, Lythraceae, Malvaceae, Meliaceae, Moraceae, Oxalidaceae, Phyllanthaceae, Rubiaceae, Salicaceae, Sapindaceae, Verbenaceae. Jenis pohon yang paling banyak ditemui adalah jenis Peronema canescens Jack (Sungkai) sebanyak 86 individu dan Lansium parasiticum (Duku) yaitu sebanyak 38 individu. Wastewaters of the textile industry, e.g., those generated in Gresik, Indonesia, are a possible threat to the environment and should be treated before disposal. Photodegradation is a more promising method to overcome this problem than conventional methods such as biodegradation. ZnO is widely used for photodegradation due to its unique physical and chemical properties and stability. In this study, Ag was loaded onto ZnO, which is non-toxic and inexpensive, can improve the electron–hole separation, and has a significant catalytic potential. Pristine ZnO and ZnO-Ag nanoparticles were fabricated by an ultrasonic spray pyrolysis system at different Ag contents (1, 5, and 10 wt%). The carrier gas ratio (O2:N2) was also changed (1:0, 1:2, 1:1, 2:1, and 0:1) to examine its effects on the nanoparticle characteristics. The nanoparticle characteristics were examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and Brunauer, Emmett, and Teller (BET) specific surface area. The results were interpreted in relation to photodegradation under UV light irradiation. An increase in the ZnO-Ag activity compared with pristine ZnO was observed at a carrier gas ratio of 0:1 with reaction rate constants of 0.0059 and 0.0025 min−1, respectively.

Penyakit Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut (ISPA) merupakan salah satu penyakit dengan angka kesakitan dan angka kematian yang cukup tinggi, sehingga dalam penanganannya diperlukan kesadaran yang tinggi baik dari masyarakat maupun petugas, terutama tentang pentingnya memperhatikan beberapa faktor yang menjadi pemicu terjadinya ISPA pada Balita. Beberapa faktor tersebut antara lain faktor imunisasi pada balita. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan imunisasi dengan kejadian ISPA pada balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Poasia. Metode penelitian ini adalah analitik observasional dengan rancangan cross-sectional study. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kepadatan penghuni rumah dengan kejadian ISPA pada balita di Willayah Kerja Puskesmas Poasia (p value = 0,001). Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu ada hubungan anatara imunisasi dengan kejadian ISPA pada balita di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Poasia. Saran penelitian ini agar pemberian informasi juga harus dilengkapi dengan pemberian simulasi kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk lomba-lomba rumah sehat sehingga dapat memotivasi masyarakat untuk mewujudkan kondisi rumah sehat bagi setiap rumah

Tanaman aren (Arenga pinnata (Wurmb) Merr.) dikenal sangat luas yang memiliki manfaat yang multiguna yaitu sebagai pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan dan berpotensi besar dimanfaatkan sebagai energi alternatif yang dapat diperbaharukan yang ramah lingkungan. Peningkatan ini mengakibatkan eksploitasi aren semakin tinggi, sehingga dikawatirkan akan menyebabkan ketersediaan aren semakin menurun apabila tidak diimbangi dengan adanya budidaya dari aren . Penggunaan Fungi Mikoriza Arbuskula (FMA) dan arang tempurung kelapa pada pembuatan bibit aren diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan yang optimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari interaksi antara FMA dan arang tempurung kelapa pada tanah ultisol terhadap pertumbuhan bibit aren serta untuk mendapatkan dosis inokulum FMA dan komposisi media terbaik untuk pertumbuhan aren. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan pola faktorial yang terdiri atas dua perlakuan yaitu dosis FMA dan komposisi media (ultisol dan arang tempurung kelapa) dengan tiga ulangan. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan pemberian dosis arang tempurung kelapa memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap pertambahan jumlah daun, Pemberian mikoriza memberika pengaruh yang sangat nyata pada variabel persen infeksi akar serta Pemberian dosis arang tempurung kelapa 10 % dan dosis mikoriza 10 g menunjukkan pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman Aren.

Sectio caesarea (SC) is surgical action for give birth by opening lower abdomain and uterus.Sectio Caesarea is used as the last choice that caused by various difficulties such as prolonged babybirth, Uteri imminens rupture, placenta previa, big fetus, pre eclamption and bleeding. Sectio Caesarea also have a high risk for mother and also the babies, but in the fact sectio caesarea level is going bigger in many countries including Indonesia.This research is usingRetrospektif data, total sample in this researchis 62 respondent taken by total sampling technique. Data is taken by observation sheet, then this data is tested by using Chisquare statistic test.Based on analysis result using Chisquare statistic test, the result ofgestational age obtainedP Value= 0,027, Mother age obtainedP Value = 0,014, Sectio Caesarea profile obtainedP Value= 0,003, Comorbidities obtainedP Value= 0,004. Partial trials are allowed in women with a history of SC more than once the results are good and the complications are minimal. It is preferable for women with a history of SC to first determine the type of previous section.

Introduction:Gaucher\'s disease is an inherited, autosomal recessive storage disease of glucocerebroside due to a deficiency of glucocerebrosidase enzymes. It has an estimated global incidence of 1: 40,000 to 1:60,000 live births.We present this to highlight the importance of bone marrow examination as an initial diagnostic modality providing an early pointer towards storage disorders, thus reducing the diagnostic delay and helping in early treatment initiation. Method:(Case) We present a 3 year old Hindu boy born out of a non consanguineous marriage(1st child) referred to special OPD(PHO) with complaints of pallor, recurrent infections and abdominal distension. He had hepatosplenomegaly and rest of the systems was within normal limit. His routine Peripheral blood examination showed a leucoerthroblastic picture with a reticulocyte count of 1.8%. His glucocerebrosidase enzyme assay done from a private lab previously was inconclusive. A bone marrow examination was finally done and aspirate and biopsy revealed sheets of PAS positive gaucher cells. Imprint was not very informative. Result:(Diagnosis) The genetic tests done in a outsourced lab using PCR with Gene ID 2629, revealed homozygous pLeu483 Pro pathogenic missense mutation which confirmed gauchers. Conclusion:Our case highlights the importance of a meticulous bone marrow examination as a screening of storage disorders. Enzyme assays may be inconclusive in case of prior transfusion or if not performed in standard laboratories. However enzymatic study and genetic examination remain the gold standards for diagnosis of gauchers.

The purpose of this study is to determine group guidance services in increasing student self-confidence. This research method uses literature review method from previous research. The subjects of this study are some of the results of previous research which are in accordance with the variables discussed in this research. From the results of research group guidance services can be used as an effort to increase student self-confidence, this is evidenced by a change in the subject after the implementation of group guidance (previous literature review). Based on the results of the study that had been done, it was found that through the group guidance technique the students' self-confidence began to build. This can be seen from the increased students' understanding of the rules in life and increased confidence in themselves regarding the ways that can be done in solving each problem. System which integrating forestry and agriculture is known by agroforestry. Utilizing of unproductive land below the trees will be more optimum. Sentang (Azadirachta excelsa Jack) is one of the plants that can be used in agroforestry system. The aim of this research was to know the effect of agroforestry toward tree dimension and production of some soybean varieties. Research design that was used in this research is split plot design that consisted of 2 factors and three repetitions. Planting pattern as a main plot is a the first factor, consisted of planting pattern of agroforestry (S1) and monoculture (S0). The second factor that was a submain plot is some varieties of soybean which consisted of variety of Grobogan, Anjasmoro, Tanggamus, and Wilis.The results shows that accretion mean of tree height, stem and crown diameter of Sentang in agroforestry plot are bigger than in monocultural plot. Lateral root in monocultural plot is deeper than in agroforestry plot. The difference of plant growth in each planting pattern of agroforestry is affected by interaction among plant component. Utilizing of some soybean varieties in agroforestry of sentang one year old did not result significant production than in monoculture pattern. In this research, variety Tanggamus and Wilis on monoculturural plot has better growth and production than variety of Grobogan and Anjasmoro.Key words: agroforestry, tree dimension, sentang (Azadirachta excelsa Jack), soybean, varieties.

Background Ciliopathies are an extensive group of autosomal recessive or X-linked disorders with considerable genetic and clinical overlap, which collectively share multiple organ involvement and may result in lethal or viable phenotypes. In large numbers of cases the genetic defect remains yet to be determined. The aim of this study is to describe the mutational frequency and phenotypic spectrum of the CEP120 gene. Methods Exome sequencing was performed in 145 patients with Joubert syndrome ( JS), including 15 children with oral-facial-digital syndrome type VI (OFDVI) and 21 Meckel syndrome (MKS) fetuses. Moreover, exome sequencing was performed in one fetus with tectocerebellar dysraphia with occipital encephalocele (TCDOE), molar tooth sign and additional skeletal abnormalities. As a parallel study, 346 probands with a phenotype consistent with JS or related ciliopathies underwent next-generation sequencing-based targeted sequencing of 120 previously described and candidate ciliopathy genes. Results We present six probands carrying nine distinct mutations (of which eight are novel) in the CEP120 gene, previously found mutated only in Jeune asphyxiating thoracic dystrophy ( JATD). The CEP120- associated phenotype ranges from mild classical JS in four patients to more severe conditions in two fetuses, with overlapping features of distinct ciliopathies that include TCDOE, MKS, JATD and OFD syndromes. No obvious correlation is evident between the type or location of identified mutations and the ciliopathy phenotype. Conclusion Our findings broaden the spectrum of phenotypes caused by CEP120 mutations that account for nearly 1% of patients with JS as well as for more complex ciliopathy phenotypes. The lack of clear genotype-phenotype correlation highlights the relevance of comprehensive genetic analyses in the diagnostics of ciliopathies.

The term baby presented with respiratory distress with X-ray pictures consistent as hyaline membrane disease (HMD). Baby was ventilated and treated with surfactant. Because of the persistence of high ventilation needs with X-ray pictures consistent with HMD with a transient response to surfactant every time, the possibility of an inherited disorder of surfactant metabolism was kept. Whole-exome sequencing revealed a novel homozygous missense mutation in the gene for ATP binding cassette transporter protein A3. The baby died after 100 days of ventilation.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang timbul pada ASTON Cirebon Hotel Convention Center, yaitu mengenai komunikasi interpersonal, lingkungan kerja dan kinerja karyawan di perusahaan ini kurangnya kesadaran karyawan dalam berkomunikasi dengan sesama karyaawan mengenai pekerjaaan mereka, serta kurangnya rasa inisiatif dalam melaksanakan ataupun menyelesaikan tugas mereka. Oleh karena itu penulismelakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh komunikasi interpersonal daan lingkungaan kerja terhaadap kinerja karyawan.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, yaitu deskriptif dan verifikatif.Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah karyawan dari departemen Food and Beverage di AASTON Cirebon Hotel Convention Center. Pengambilaan sampel sejumlah 60 orang yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2015. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan kuisoner yang disebar kepada sampel.Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah adanya pengaruh yang signifikan antara komunikasi interpersonal dan lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan. Besarnya pengaruh komunikasi terhadap kinerja sebesar 6,25% sedangkan lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja sebesar 4,24%, dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh positif antara komunikasi interpersonal dan lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan walaupun kadar pengaruh pada variabel-variabel tersebut tidak menunjukan hasil yang besar.

Analysis of seven Indian phenylketonuria families has revealed four novel mutations in the phenylalanine hydroxylase gene; two affected consensus splice sequence and the 3' UTR, respectively, while the other two were single base insertion and deletion mutations, respectively. A novel 3' splice site mutation c.168-2A>G resulted in the activation of a cryptic 3' splice site that generated a premature termination codon leading to very low levels of the mutant transcript, probably due to activation of the nonsense-mediated decay (NMD) pathway. This is probably the first report of PKU caused by the activation of NMD.

Infantile olivopontocerebellar atrophy (OPCA) is a rare congenital disorder likely due to an intrauterine neurodegenerative condition. Characteristic presentations are failure to thrive, cerebellar ataxia, respiratory insufficiency, and hypotonia or hypertonia. A few cases with severe manifestations (eg, the Pena-Shokeir phenotype) presenting in the neonatal period have also been reported. We present a case of infantile OPCA with the Pena-Shokeir II phenotype and severe atrophy of the cerebellum and cerebral hemispheres. Comparison of prenatal sonographic findings of the fetal brain at 30 weeks' menstrual age and CT findings during the neonatal period indicated prenatal onset of the neurodegenerative process, which progressed rapidly during the last trimester.

The ICUMSA or AOAC (Association of Official Agricultural Chemists) traditional test methods for testing individual constituents, pol and brix, are time consuming, operator dependent and involve the use of hazardous chemicals. The increased awareness of environmental and health topics makes it desirable to avoid the clarification of cane juice with basic lead acetate. Widely used in the food and agricultural industries, Near Infrared Spectroscopy NIR has now made considerable inroads into the more lengthy and wet chemistry procedures. Near Infrared is the region of combination bands and overtones due to interatomic forces. Hydrogenic atoms being the lightest vibrate within the near infrared region due to N-H, O-H and C-H groups. These are common atoms present within most food products. As near infrared wavelengths are specific, individual components can be identified so it can be used for quantitative analysis of phosphates, silicates and amino acids in cane juice. Amino acids are important as they, along with other nitrogenous bodies, react with reducing sugars to form colored compounds. Analyzing amino acids in a sample can help solve color problem in sugar. Alanine and glycine are commonly found amino acids in sugarcane. In the present research the online estimation of alanine and glycine is done in cane juice using Near-Infrared spectroscopy. Near Infrared Spectrophotometer of Elico (India) range (600-2500nm) has been used in its transmittance mode in conjunction with two multivariate calibration procedures, i.e., Partial Least Square Regression analysis (PLSR) and Stepwise Multivariate Linear Regression analysis (SMLR) for the analysis of alanine and glycine in cane juice. Multi linear regression analysis was also carried out to find out the most correlating wavelengths along with the standard deviation.

Sucrose Crystallization is a mass transfer process. Sucrose molecule's migration from solution to crystal is driven by concentration difference between the mother liquor and the crystal surface; the coefficient of super saturation is the most important parameter for the process. Supersaturation of sugar solution depends on the purity and brix of the mother liquor. It has large influence on product's quantity and quality (crystal yield, crystal size and size distribution) and on the cost of production i.e output/hour and energy consumption. However there is still no generally applicable theory, which permits an accurate prediction of the effects of all the factors that govern the industrial processes of crystallization from solution. The crystal growth depends on the viscosity, which further depends on the nature and amount of impurities. If the local conditions are favourable, localized layers of molecules of impurity can statistically remain on the surface for a period of time. On the other hand, if the interaction between the impurity and the layer is weak, then there will be competition between impurity and sucrose molecules thus affecting the sucrose crystal growth rate. In the present study, the growth rate of sugar crystals was studied, using two-litre automatic laboratory vacuum pan, under controlled conditions in the presence of impurities. The effect of phosphate and silica (adding one at time) on the growth rate of sugar crystals was studied at two different temperatures 328 and 338K and with two different seed sizes of sucrose (850 and 600µm). The growth rate was studied at two degrees of supersaturation (1.10 and 1.15). The growth rate of sucrose crystals (with or without added impurities) showed significant increase with the 10°C rise in temperature. The growth rate of sucrose crystals increased with the increase in the level of phosphate but decreased with the increase in the level of silica in sugar solution.

Gerodermia Osteodysplastica is a rare autosomal recessive connective tissue disorder included in the cutis laxa syndromes. Twenty five cases have been reported in the world literature to date. The authors report the first case from our country, a 13 year old female having phenotypic and radiological features suggestive of this genetic disorder.
