ADHD is a nosological condition linked to impaired brain maturity, especially at the frontal temporal level, which generates neurocognitive behavioral and social alterations. Previous research has shown that ADHD is associated with deficits in executive functions, including working memory, which is relevant for regulating behavior and social interactions. This study analyzed the capacity of working memory as an explanatory element of social skills in schoolchildren diagnosed with ADHD, through a structural equation model. A sample of N = 250, males, diagnosed with ADHD, in school, aged between 9 and 12 years old, was used. The sampling was probabilistic. The structural equation model was developed in RCran 4.3.2 software; the social skills variable (endogenous) was measured with 6 observable variables (interaction with authority figures, interaction with opposite sex, being in evidence, assertive expression of annoyance, displeasure, interaction with strangers and acting in public), using the CANSO-N24 questionnaire. The working memory variable (exogenous) was measured with 5 observable variables (digits, letters/numbers, color, word and word/color), and WISIV and Stroop tests were applied. The model converged after 73 iterations; a p-value < 0.05 was obtained in the Chi-square statistic, resulting in a fitted model. A positive covariance (0.17) was obtained between working memory and social skills, and a P(>|z|) of 0.379, indicating a low significance. This study tested the theoretical prediction that better working memory would correlate with better social skills in schoolchildren diagnosed with ADHD. These results indicate that while there is a positive relationship, working memory is not the only factor explaining social skills in ADHD. This supports the theory that multiple factors, including other mental processes, genetic, and environmental influences, contribute to social skills development in ADHD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract Introduction: The specific learning disorder is a nosological entity of neurodevelopment, the clinical manifestations become evident in the school stage and are persistent throughout life. Dyslexia (DS) is characterized by an impairment in the comprehension and fluency of the reading process, associated with neurocognitive deficits. Objective: To analyze the relationship between phonological fluency, repetition, naming and verbal comprehension in children diagnosed with dyslexia (DS). Method: A sample of (N=114) school patients with DS diagnosis between the ages of 7 and 16 years, selected by non-probability sampling, was used. We built a structural equation model (MEE) in RCran 4.0.4 software, to analyze the relationship between the latent variables (phonological fluency, semantic fluency, pseudoword repetition, sentence repetition, naming and verbal comprehension), through the results of standardized psychometric tests; Verbal Fluency Test, Boston Test, Child Neuropsychological Assessment and Weschler Intelligence Scale IV. Results: Covariances between phonological fluency and all language (LG) components were positive; semantic fluency (σxy=0.55), pseudoword repetition (σxz=0.53), sentence repetition (σxw=0.64), LG naming (σxv=0.60), verbal comprehension (σxy=0.57), indicating a direct relationship. In people with DS, the lower the phonological fluency the greater the language deficits. Conclusion: In DS, phonological and semantic fluency is limited and is directly related to the clinical manifestations of this neurodevelopmental disorder (TN).

- Abstract
Se discuten las implicaciones para la práctica clínica y las intervenciones escolares., Working memory training may help children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), but robust evidence from systematic reviews is lacking. Children with poor Working memory ability struggle with academic and cognitive work compared to similar-aged peers without working memory deficits. Besides, working memory is correlated with inattention and disorganization in those with ADHD. The aim of this systematic review was to assess the effect of working memory training on symptoms and behaviors of children with ADHD. A search equation was proposed (ADHD OR attention deficit hyperactivity disorder AND working memory training), with twenty-four studies meeting the inclusion criteria in the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science Core Collection database. A bibliometric analysis was conducted to identify the importance of the research topic and a citation network was built to establish the lines of research. Finally, the citation network was exported to Gephi to visualize the research groups studying the topic. Findings suggest 3 lines of research: (a) Effects of working memory training on working memory, and academic performance in children with ADHD, (b) Effects of working memory training on executive functioning and child ADHD related symptoms, (c) Effects of working memory training on brain activity in child ADHD. Implications for clinical practice and school-based interventions are discussed.

- Abstract
Young lawbreakers with an antisocial structure suffer alterations in their social cognition, which is reflected in their difficulty to interact with others in an appropriate way and to put themselves in the place of others as a symbol of empathy. The findings of a systematic literature review are presented to answer the following research questions: What are the characteristics of empathy and sympathy in lawbreakers? What are the characteristics of moral reasoning in lawbreakers? Articles, books and specialized publications in scientific databases were reviewed. It is concluded that the offender of the law with antisocial structure has a neurobiological functioning different from the common offender, specifically in the brain areas associated with the responses of empathy, sympathy and moral reasoning. In these, pleasant biological responses are activated in the face of situations that generate feelings of compassion and pain in the majority of the population. The findings show that people with antisocial structure feel satisfaction before the pain of others, demonstrating effects on social cognition, this being an issue of interest and topicality for neurosciences and social neuropsychology., Jovens infratores com estrutura anti-social apresentam alterações na cognição social, o que se reflete na dificuldade de interagir com os outros de forma adequada e de se colocar no lugar do outro como símbolo empático.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental clinical entity associated with a reduction in brain maturation mainly at the frontotemporal level, generating neurocognitive deficits. This disorder usually presents in a comorbid form. Our research aimed to identify the neurocognitive characteristics of ADHD (combined, hyperactive/impulsive and inattentive) of pure presentation or with comorbidity with oppositional defiant disorder, specific learning disorder or autism spectrum disorder. We used a sample of N=712 school children with a diagnosis of ADHD, aged between 6 and 13 years, using non-probability sampling. We built predictive models to establish probabilistic rules with different types of variables (total IQ, working memory index, perceptual reasoning index, processing speed index, phonological/semantic fluency, attention, visuoverbal memory, verbal memory, working memory, visual memory, visual perception, constructional praxias), we used the automatic learning technique of Decision Trees (DTCM) in Rcran 4.2.1 software, which allowed us to establish a clinical hierarchy. The data for the analysis were obtained from the results of the psychometric tests provided to the sample (WISC-IV, Verbal Fluency, TMT, Visuoverbal Memory Scale, Verbal Memory Curve, Wechsler Memory Scale, Rey/Osterrieth Complex Figure). We conclude that children with pure ADHD present poor performance on tasks assessing the working memory index and perceptual reasoning that are not explained by deficits in IQ. Deficits in working memory are generalizable to all presentations and comorbidities of ADHD. One of the main advantages of DTCM over other predictive machine learning techniques is the possibility of differentiating the hierarchy of importance of the dependent variables, in this case, allowing the identification of the most important variables in four different populations of children diagnosed with ADHD. - Abstract
The governmental strategies adopted worldwide as a preventive measure against the health emergency generated by COVID-19 have been the focus of attention by the scientific community, interested in knowing their effects on mental health. The aim of this paper was to develop a classification model to predict depression in university students due to stress factors associated with the pandemic. A classification model with decision trees (MCAD) was developed based on the results of a perception survey with Likert scale questions. It was applied to a sample of 833 university students from different academic programs in Colombia. The dependent variable of the model was the presence or absence of depression; the responses of 700 students were used for training and 133 for testing. This paper concludes that the MCAD is valid for predicting depression. In fact, it had an accuracy rate of 87% in the test sample. Finally, marital status, sex, age, educational problems, and media information are the factors that most influence the development of depressive mood in the context of the pandemic generated by COVID-19 in university students.

- Abstract
Social factors are positively associated with social cognitions related to physical activity. Participation in physical activity is associated with positive health outcomes, and the intentional exercise required in sport improves mental health. This research presents a structural equation model (SEM) to evaluate the variables that most influence social cognition; empathy and compassion. Was used a representative sample of 50 soccer players from a sports club of Medellin, Colombia. The sample was selected taking into account a 5% margin of error and a 90% confidence level, the population size was 57 soccer players. The results of the Kaiser-Meyer- Olkin (KMO) sphericity test and the Bartlett's test indicated that the factor analysis is adequate, all constructions are statistically significant. Goodness-of-fit tests indicate that the model fits well with the data. This paper concludes that, of all the constructs considered: interaction with authority figures, interaction with the opposite sex, being in evidence, affirmative expression of discontent, interaction with strangers and acting in public, the construct that most influences the latent variable "empathy" is the interaction with the opposite sex. The construct that most influences the latent variable "sympathy" is the affirmative expression of discomfort. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
