The contents of tellurium in Chinese soils are investigated. The distributive character in different soil types in 34 provinces (cities) is studied. Some conclusions can be obtained based on these results.

A method for the determination of ultra-trace amounts of arsenic species in environmental aqueous samples is presented. This method initially involved coprecipitation of arsenic(III) and arsenic(V) with zirconium hydroxide. Subsequent investigations have been made of the volatilization of arsenic(III) based on the conversion of trivalent arsenic in solution into low-boiling arsenic trichloride by concentrated hydrochloric acid. By means of different temperature programmes, arsenic(III) can quantitatively be removed from a graphite tube coated with zirconium, while arsenic(V) quantitatively remains in the furnace up to a temperature of 1400 °C. The recoveries from environmental samples are satisfactory.

生体中のLiの役割が注目されるようになってきた今日,生体試料中のLi量の迅速かつ簡便な定量方法を確立することが重要になってきている.本研究では,血清中のppbレベルのLiを前処理なしに直接黒鉛炉AASにより定量する方法を示した.血清試料に対しては,大量の共存Naの干渉を避けるために2回脱イオン水により4倍希釈を行った.硫酸アンモニウムを添加剤として加えることで,塩素及び他のイオンの干渉を排除した.又,高い灰化温度(900℃)を設定することで血清中の有機物による影響をも取り除いた.測定にはLiの共鳴線670.8nmを,又バックグラウンド補正のためにZr の 670.2nm を用いた.本法を用いると,0.04~30ppb及び30~3000ppbの領域で直線の検量線が得られた.又,過去に報告されている前処理を行う方法に比べて,感度及び信頼性でも優れていることが分かった.更に,実際に健康な人と精神病患者の血清試料を分析し,Li濃度が精神疾患に対応して減少していることを示した.

生体試料の分析の分野においても,定性・定量分析だけでなく,含まれている元素の状態分析の必要性が高まっている.本研究では,ヒトの毛髪を試料に取り上げ,高分解能XRF法により試料に含まれる硫黄の状態分析が可能であることを示した.高分解能蛍光X線スペクトルは,二結晶型分光器{分光結晶:Ge(111)×2}を用いて測定した.更に得られた高分解能SKαスペクトルに対し,最小二乗法によるピーク分離法を適用して解析を行い,定量的な状態分析を行った.22種の標準物質の測定と,試料の測定及び解析から,ヒトの毛髪中の硫黄はS2-(有機物)が主成分であり(95～96%),S6+(無機物)がわずかに存在することが分かった.この二つの状態以外は存在しないことも分かった.中国人と日本人,男性と女性を対照させて検討した結果,硫黄の量,状態共に国籍の差が認められた.又,女性のほうがS6+がわずかながら多いことも認められた.一方黒髪と白髪を対比して検討したところ,白髪は黒髪に対しS2-が減少する傾向にあることが分かった.X線照射による損傷については.本研究での条件程度のX線(Cr,35kV,30mA)であれば,1時間強程度の照射ならば硫黄の状態が変化することはないことが明らかになった.
