- Abstract
This article aims to describe the experiences of nursing professionals in their work performance. For this purpose, a study with a qualitative, phenomenological and interpretive approach was proposed. This addressed the reality built by individuals in their socio-work environment, therefore, the truth emerges from the various meanings that people give to the situations they experience. The sample was intentional, it was applied to nurses graduated from different academic programs, the collection method was a virtual interview, prior completion and signing of informed consent. From the data analysis, the following categories emerge: social recognition of the profession, dedication of time, attribute of the profession, employment condition, ethics of care, knowledge of discipline, meaning of training, job expectations, fear of the unknown, professional status, scope of performance and motivation and commitment. This research took into account the ethical considerations for health research. In conclusion, the study participants feel satisfied with their profession, despite the adverse conditions and the pandemic situation that the world is going through, they consider being a fundamental part and contributing their knowledge and skills to transform society. Introduction: The work phenomenon of emotional exhaustion occurs among nursing professionals, affecting their personal health and well-being, influencing their skills and performance, and negatively impacting the quality of care and patient safety. Aim: This study aimed to explore the experiences of emotional exhaustion among nursing professionals working in an emergency unit and its influence on patient safety. Methods: A qualitative phenomenological study was conducted with emergency nurses from a type C health center in the city of Quito, Ecuador. The study was limited to 10 participants based on saturation of information in the interviews. Coding and categorization were used to interpret the results. Results: The findings showed that nurses' exhaustion can manifest as stress, fatigue, insomnia, frustration, poor performance, forgetfulness, and overload. When they must cover areas such as pharmacy and statistics within the unit, they are unable to adequately concentrate, leading to inadvertent errors in healthcare activities and thus negatively influencing patient safety. Conclusions: This exploration of emotional exhaustion among nurses reveals that they experience high workloads that can hinder their competencies and activities and prevent them from performing their work efficiently due to reduced physical and cognitive abilities. In terms of patient safety, which demands effective communication in the nurse-patient relationship, emotional exhaustion decreases nurse performance throughout the workday. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Background: Nursing professionals are a risk group for COVID-19 because they are in the front line of health care delivery. Objective: To determine the prevalence of COVID-19 infections and post-COVID-19 symptoms among nursing professionals in the primary health care sector and identify the factors associated. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted among nursing professionals in the primary health care sector in a region of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. Data were collected in 2022 using an online questionnaire. Results: Among the professionals tested for COVID-19 (83.8%), 43.8% tested positive once, 16.4% were re-infected, and 39.6% experienced post-COVID-19 symptoms, mainly memory loss or difficulty concentrating, followed by body aches and loss of smell and taste, among others. The prevalence of COVID-19 infections and post-COVID-19 symptoms was higher among health professionals taking regular medication for a medically diagnosed chronic condition. Conclusion: Strategies for monitoring the health of nursing professionals are suggested, as the results will help manage future health crises. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To map the contributions and strategies to implement advanced practice nursing in primary health care. Materials and methods: This scoping review was carried out following the guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute in six databases, namely: LILACS, MEDLINE, WoS, Embase, CINAHL, and Scopus, in addition to a bibliographic repository. A total of 3,076 studies were found, from which 12 were selected. Results: The contributions mentioned by the studies regarding advanced practice nursing were divided into three subcategories, as follows: care, educational or management, and preventive practices. They concern autonomy, specialized clinical skills, therapeutic counseling, and patient-centered interaction. Some strategies to implement advanced practice are related to continuing education, practice management, self-care, and disease management. Conclusions: There is a need to improve strategies for advanced practice nursing, especially in primary care, to address gaps in specialized care, the development of indicators, and therapeutic objectives. - Abstract

- Abstract
Introduction: ICU nurses have a significant risk of BS due to the stressful conditions of their work. The pandemic has worsened these conditions, so these professionals will probably show Burnout Syndr ome scores and affectation of their health. Objective: Determine the impact on the different health domains and on the performance of their work in nurses who have worked in the ICU in the midst of the COVID19pandemic. Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out. Sixty-eight nursing professionals who had worked in the ICU during the pandemic participated. Each participant completed a booklet with the following scales: Burnout Scale, SF-36 Quality of Life Questionnaire and Somatic Symptom Scale-Revised (ESS-R). Results: It has been found that ICU nurses have BS and obtained high scores in each of its dimensions, as well as psychosomatic symptoms, especially in the Musculoskeletal (ME) and Female Reproductive (RF) subscales. On the other hand, the health levels in the different subscales of the SF-36 were not low, but intermediate. Being a woman, having tested positive for covid19, having a family member or friend who has tested positive for COVID19 and being the main caregiver negatively influenced the appearance of BS, health and somatization. Conclusion: As a result of the data obtained of the ICU nurses, it is considered that there are compelling reasons that justify the need to establish protocols for psychological action aimed at ICU nurses. - Abstract
Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has heavily altered regular procedures of healthcare systems worldwide. Daily work has become physically and emotionally exhausting for health care professionals, forced to face and adapt to new challenges and stressful situations. This situation weighs on the daily nursing practice and might have an impact on the quality of care provided and on the level of satisfaction perceived by hospitalized patients. Thus, the present study aimed to determine the patient's perception of humanized nursing care received during their hospital stay. Methods: A descriptive, quantitative, cross-sectional study was carried out, in which telephone interviews were conducted in 357 people >18 years of age who were admitted for more than 24 hours to the Hospital de León in order to asses patient´s perception. One instrument used was The Perception of Behaviors of Humanized Nursing Care Scale (PCHE), to evaluate in three dimensions (D): qualities of nursing practice (D1), openness to nurse--patient communication (D2), and willingness to care (D3). In addition, an institutional satisfaction survey was performed to know the opinion on the quality of customer service in hospitalization area. Results: The percentage of patients scoring as "always" every dimension was: D1 = 91.2%; D2= 81.4%; and D3= 87.8%. Patient satisfaction obtained a mean score of 4.6 out of 5. 42.3% of population were men and 57.7% were women, most in the age range 61--75 years. The predominant marital status and educational level were married and basic--medium, respectively. Conclusion: Despite the negative impact of COVID-19 in the health care system, patients perceived humanized nursing care received as very successful. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of educational intervention in the intensive care process, at the level of knowledge of the nursing team about the prone position in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental quantitative study, with a sample of 62 professionals from the intensive sector. Data was collected on the variable knowledge of professionals during the pre- and post-educational intervention phase, for a week, through the application of multiple choice forms. For data analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of educational intervention, descriptive statistics and Kolmogorov-Smirnova and Shapiro Wilk tests were used to prove normality and the Student T test to compare the averages obtained. Results: When comparing the averages obtained in the pre and post educational intervention phases, it was observed that the average of correct answers before intervention was 6.12, while in the post intervention 9.43. Conclusion: The effectiveness of the educational intervention in the intensive care process was found to be about the knowledge of nursing professionals about the prone position, considering a significant increase in the score of correct answers obtained in the post-intervention phase. Thus, continuing education in intensive sectors, becomes essential for the purposes of professional development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To report the experience of a virtual Culture Circle to promote the health of nurses, in view of the consequences of Coronavirus Disease 2019. Methods: A virtual Culture Circle was held in April 2020, with the participation of 15 nurses, residing in Santa Catarina Brazil. Therefore, the three stages of Paulo Freire's Itinerary were covered through an analogy with the parts of a stethoscope: the diaphragm (Thematic Research), the conduction tube (Encoding and Decoding), and the stems and olives (Critical Unveiling). Results: The dialogicity of the Culture Circle resulted in a "place of speech" generator in the confrontation of COVID-19. The nurses reflected on their role during the pandemic, highlighting their influence on users and other professionals, due to their scientific knowledge and leading role in health care. Conclusion: The understanding of the "place of speech" in Nursing during the pandemic and the importance of strengthening it was stimulated. The virtual Culture Circle stood out as a possibility for health promotion in situations of social restriction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Drawing on the Job Demand-Resource model this paper examines the influence of the social comparison orientation personality trait. It is hypothesized that high social comparison orientation will moderate the negative effect of job demands in the health impairment process on work engagement, mediated by a work-nonwork conflict. A total of 510 nurses from different healthcare centres participated in this study. PROCESS macro was used to test simple and moderated mediation. Results demonstrate that the negative indirect effect of job demands on work engagement via work-non work conflict appears only with low levels of social comparison orientation. Theoretical insights from social comparison literature and the work-nonwork interface into JD-R theory are integrated. The strengths of social comparison orientation employees are highlighted to reduce the depletion of resources needed to cope with non-work demands and promote work engagement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To verify in the literature the feelings of nursing professionals who work in mental health to assist in assistance after pandemic consequences of the new coronavirus. Integrative review conducted on the BVS, SciELO and CAPES journals using the keywords: Nursing; Nursingteam; Psychiatric Nursing and Mental Health.10 articles were selected from the 254 found. The studies revealed feelings of insecurity, overload, fear, incapacity and unpreparedness by nursing professionals that compromise the care, reinforce stigmas and increase the stress experienced during work activities. Among the factors can be mentioned deficiency in training, management issues, assistance in the biomedical model and professional devaluation. Investments in academic training, monitoring occupational and psycho-emotional health of professionals, promotion of continuing educationactions, in addition to changes in management can be mitigating indicators for uncomfortable feelings in mental health workers after impacts generated by the pandemic of COVID-19. Objective: To analyze the decisions of the labor judiciary related to the demands presented by nursing workers. Method: qualitative research that used the documentary method. For data analysis, the decision analysis methodology was used. Results: 22 sentences were analyzed. The types of precariousness found were Vulnerabilities of Forms of Insertion and Work, Intensification of Work, Insecurity and Health at Work, and Condemnation and Dismissal of Labor Law. Conclusion: The analysis of sentences reveals that the precariousness of work is widespread in the nursing field. However, due to the precarious work scenario, the number of female workers who resort to the Labor Court is still low, which indicates lack of knowledge about labor rights or fear of resorting to them.
