A spokeswoman for FasTracks campaign stated that claims by FasTracks opponents that the 12-year, $4.7 billion mass transit projects would cost the state transportation department billions. The project plan includes 119 miles of new light rail and commuter rail where six new lines would be built, new bus stations would be built, and bus service also would be expanded with new suburb-to-suburb service.

FasTracks is a $4.7 billion project to bring a metrowide network of new rail lines and expand bus service to take Denver to the ranks of big-league cities, which already have comprehensive transportation systems. Further Regional Transportation District (RTD) pose voters to pay 0.4-cent increase in the local sales tax, to a full penny per dollar's worth of taxable goods, for RTD.

Boulder, Colorado-based Renewable Choice Energy Inc., founded by Quayle Hodek in 2001, has doubled its revenues for the past several years. The United States Federal Trade Commission is looking into how renewable energy certificates are sold and marketed, and is planning to implement stringent rules to oversee the process.

Rate changes for Xcel Energy Inc. won't affect small customers very much, but they will cause significant cost increases for large customers such as the City of Denver, whose electricity costs will rise 10%.

A shortage of cement that has already led to layoffs projects being halted and a call from a congressman for an investigation is getting the attention of Colorado's construction industry. A number of constructions projects in Florida are halted as material suppliers are unable to replenish their cement supplies and this has adversely affected the building trades that rely on the steady supply of cement in ongoing construction projects.

On the outskirts of Denver, a 45-minute drive from Denver International Airport, is Front Range Airport, used primarily by small private planes. After a new road is finished, cutting the drive to DIA to less than 15 minutes, plans are underway to transform the small airport into a major cargo hub, using nearby rail and interstate highways in addition to DIA.

Retail sales in the shops of the concourses has done better than the shops outside security in the terminals. The trend is attibuted to travelers getting to the airport early enough to get through security as quickly as possible. This gives travelers time to shop once they get to the concourse.
