Objective: Abnormal localization of the placenta with complete or partial closure of the cervix is called placenta previa. Placenta previa occurs in approximately 0.3-0.5% of pregnancies. In this study, we aimed to determine the risk factors and adverse fetal outcomes by comparing the neonatal outcomes of patients who underwent cesarean section for placenta previa with those of patients who underwent cesarean section for other indications. Method: Patients with singleton pregnancies diagnosed with placenta previa were retrospectively analyzed. Placenta previa, risk factors, and adverse neonatal outcomes were estimated using multivariate logistic regression models. Results: A total of 61,110 deliveries were analyzed, and 632 deliveries (288 patients, 344 controls) were included in the study. The prevalence of placenta previa was 0.47%. Advanced maternal age [odds ratio (OR)=3.03], multigravida (≥5) (OR=2.31), previous abortion (OR=1.58) and curettage (OR=2.32) were significant risk factors for placenta previa. However, these patients had an increased risk of 1st minute Apgar score <7 (OR=1.59) and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admission (OR=2.15). At the same time, the risk of Apgar score <7 at 1 min (OR=5.59) and 5 min (OR=3.94) and NICU admission (OR=28.47) increased in infants of patients with placenta previa <34 weeks. Newborns in the >37 weeks gestational age group with placenta previa were more likely to have a lower birth weight (OR=4.21) and an Apgar score <7 at 5 min (OR=1.89). Conclusion: Pregnancies with a diagnosis of placenta previa were associated with an increased risk of serious fetal outcomes compared with cesarean deliveries for all other indications, regardless of delivery timing. The objectives of this study were: i) to report overall mean AMH serum concentrations in queens, ii) to determine relationship between serum AMH concentration with estradiol level, iii) to investigate the relationship between serum AMH with follicular phase and interestrus phase of the estrous cycle, iv) to discuss the usability of AMH as a biomarker to diagnosis of ovarian remnant syndrome in breeding season in queens. In the study, 64 healthy queens referred to clinics for routine ovariohysterectomy were used. After anamnesis, vaginal cytology, macroscopic examination of the uterus and ovaries and estradiol measurement, queens were divided into two groups: follicular phase (n: 45) and interestrus (n: 19). Estradiol and AMH levels in serum samples were determined by ELISA. In the evaluation of serum AMH concentrations, a statistical difference was determined between the follicular phase and interestrus (P = 0.05). A negative correlation was found between age and estradiol in both follicular phase (r = -0.171) and interestrus (r = -0.385) groups. A positive correlation was found between age and AMH in the interestrus (P<0.01, r = 0.696). Serum AMH levels in the interestrus were found to be significantly higher than follicular phase (P<0.05). It was thought that this increase in serum AMH levels during the interestrus period, which is the stage where oocytes were selected for ovulation, may be an indicator of the role of AMH in oocyte selection in queens, as in many other mammalian species. Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate fertility hormone levels in adolescent girls and ten years older women with menstrual irregularities and with or without polycystic ovaries on ultrasound examination. Methods: The study population consisted of 276 patients aged 12-18 years and 469 patients aged 22-28 years who had menstrual irregularities with or without polycystic ovaries on ultrasound examination. All subjects underwent a comprehensive medical assessment including documentation of the detailed history, physical and gynecological examination, measurement of the essential laboratory variables, and measurement of the fertility hormone levels. Results: Within 745 patients (mean age: 21.4± 4.8), 276 patients were aged 12-18 years (group 1) and 469 patients were aged 22-28 years (group 2). In-depth evaluations of the short- and long-term effects of nuclear and renewable energy on emissions of carbon dioxide in 12 OECD countries are made in this study using the STIRPAT model. Using yearly data for the years 1980 to 2020, the CIPS unit root test, taking into account cross-sectional dependency (CD), Gengenbach et al. (2016) co-integration test, and Cross-Sectional Augmented Autoregressive Distributed Lag (CS-ARDL) technique are used. Additionally, the Dumitrescu-Hurlin (DH) panel causality tests are used for seeking the causal connections between variables. The empirical findings from the CS-ARDL approach demonstrate that CO2 emissions are negatively impacted both in the short and long terms by nuclear and renewable energy. The CS-ARDL results also show that the long-run elasticity of economic growth is lower than the short-run elasticity, and that growing populations increases CO2 emissions both in the short and long runs. According to the DH panel's findings on causality, there is only one way that economic development, CO2 emissions, and nuclear energy output are related. These findings suggest that the OECD should concentrate on income-oriented policies, promote green economic growth, and subsidize greater nuclear and renewable energy consumption through. Objective: To investigate the role of the cerebroplacental ratio (CPR) and other ultrasonographic parameters associated with adverse neonatal outcomes in a cohort of singleton pregnancies at 40-41 weeks of gestation. Methods: This prospective study included patients who attended the obstetric unit of a tertiary hospital at 40 0/7 and 40 6/7 weeks of gestation. A fetal Doppler ultrasound including the umbilical artery (UA) pulsatility index (PI) and middle cerebral artery (MCA) PI, placental calcification, fetal biometry and amniotic fluid index (AFI) of the study population were recorded. All patients were followed up until delivery. Umbilical pH <7.20, Apgar score <7 at the 5th minute, transfer of newborn to the nonatal intensive care unit, and cesarean section due to non-reassuring fetal status were considered as adverse neonatal outcomes. Results: MCA PI and CPR were lower in the adverse neonatal outcome group compared with the control group (1.14±0.19 vs. 1.25±0.27; p=0.046 and 1.44±0.33 vs. 1.62±0.45; p=0.049, respectively). The mean birthweight and percentile for GA were lower in women with adverse neonatal outcomes (3371±396 vs. 3548±449, p=0.034; 45.21±26.93 vs. 59.4±27.06, p=0.011). Polyhydramnios during Doppler ultrasound examination (OR:6.32), oligohydramnios at hospitalization (OR:4.78), and fetal birthweight percentile (OR:0.98) for GA at birth were found as significant variables to predict adverse neonatal outcomes. Conclusion: CPR may not be useful in prediction of adverse neonatal outcome at 40-41 weeks gestation. Fetal weight percentile for GA at birth and amniotic fluid abnormalities can help physicians predict adverse neonatal outcomes in women with pregnancies at 40-41 weeks gestation. The study aimed to better understand the influence of COVID-19 infection on the sexual health of postpartum women and to add new information to the literature, which lacks sufficient data on this subject. The study consisted of a control group of 70 postpartum women diagnosed with COVID-19 and 71 healthy postpartum women. The groups had similar demographics. The "Carol Postpartum Sexual Function and Dyspareunia Assessment Scale" was used in this study (NCT04389489). The Carol Postpartum Sexual Function and Dyspareunia Assessment Scale, including the libido, lubrication area, pain area during penetration, and pain area during vaginal intercourse dimensions, was used to assess the two groups, which had similar demographic characteristics; scores were meaningfully lower in the case group (p <0.05). The discomfort or pain when touching the vulva and discomfort and pain after vaginal intercourse dimension scores did not vary significantly between the study and control groups (p >0.05). This study addresses the issue of insufficient data on the effect of COVID-19 infection on the sexual health of postpartum women. Preeclampsia is a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy that usually starts after the 20th week of pregnancy and affects 2 -8% of pregnant women worldwide. In preeclampsia, glomerular endothelial damage, formation of podocituria and tubular hyperfiltration mechanisms play a role in the pathogenesis of proteinuria. KIRREL is a protein from the nephrin adhesion family. Prevents podocyte damage. In this way, it maintains glomerular filtration and glomerular function. The aim of the study is to show whether the levels of KIRREL an adhesion molecule protein, decrease in pregnant women with preeclampsia and to use it in the prediction of preeclampsia patients, to intervene in these patients beforehand. A total of 80 pregnant women, 40 of whom were preeclampsia and 40 of whom were normotensive, who applied to the obstetrics and gynecology clinic of a tertiary hospital were included in our study. Our patients were diagnosed with preeclampsia according to the ACOG diagnostic criteria. While the mean KIRREL level in the maternal blood of the pregnant women included in the study was 3.38 (mg/dl)in the study group, it was 6.46 (mg/dl)in the control group, and there was a significant difference between the groups. In the study group, the KIRREL level in maternal blood was lower than in normal pregnant women (p = 0.377). In our study, serum KIRREL levels were found to be significantly lower in the study group compared to the control group. However, KIRREL levels have been evaluated as an inadequate test in the prediction of preeclampsia. Objective The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) outbreak had an enormous global impact. Pregnant women with SARS-CoV-2 appear to have higher morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the severity of maternal SARS-CoV-2 infection on neonatal outcomes. Study Design The clinical and laboratory data of 40 women and neonates evaluated retrospectively. Results This retrospective study showed that SARS-CoV-2 infection had an adverse impact on neonatal outcomes proportionally with the maternal disease severity including increased prematurity rates, postnatal resuscitation need, prolonged hospital stay and longer ventilatory support requirement in infants born to mothers with moderate or severe disease. Conclusion Maternal disease severity had adverse effects on neonatal outcomes. The severity of maternal disease was found to be associated with increased rates of prematurity, requirement of postnatal resuscitation, prolonged hospital stay, and longer ventilatory support.
