This study investigated novel driving scheme for low-temperature polycrystalline silicon and oxide (LTPO) active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) displays under variable refresh rate (VRR) driving conditions with aim of reducing the brightness instability (i.e., flicker and luminance variation) for seamless performance. The mechanisms underlying brightness fluctuations in displays were examined, focusing on frequency-dependent differences in gate-inpanel (GIP) operations. Notably, our study revealed additional factors within the GIP operation that cause LTPO flicker and VRR performance, in addition to previously identified factors of thin-film transistor hysteresis and OLED charging. Consequently, variable GIP voltage driving method that reduced these issues and enhanced display performance was proposed. The proposed method could minimize brightness fluctuations to levels imperceptible to users and facilitate performance improvement through driving options in peripheral circuits without modifying panel design and is applicable across various applications utilizing LTPO OLED technology. Its driving scheme was validated through simulation and measurement of luminance variation during frequency transition using 6.0-inch LTPO-applied AMOLED displays. The experimental results indicated a decrease in luminance difference from 14.2% to 1.5%, particularly at extremely low brightness level of 0.2 nit. The luminance distortion decreased from 7 to less than 1, which is a just noticeable color difference (JNCD).

It is known that the unidirectional coupling between a double-scroll system (drive) in the oscillation regime with another system (response) in the steady-state, gives rise to more complex dynamics such as multiscroll attractors [Dana et al., 2008]. This paper shows the way to move from n-scroll to 2n-scroll in a bidirectional coupling scheme between two jerk oscillators. The coupling considered can be interpreted as a perturbation to each oscillator's amplitude through a signal proportional to the amplitude of the other. Indeed, starting from a situation of two oscillators which can generate double-scroll dynamics individually, we perform a bidirectional coupling of both oscillators which results in more complex dynamics such as multistability and 4-scroll chaotic attractor in the coupled system (not observed in an isolated oscillator). The underlined coupling scheme provides an efficient method for generating higher-order multiscroll attractors. The route to the 4-scroll chaotic attractor is explained with the help of bifurcation diagrams, plots of several phase portraits, and basins of attractions. New triple transistor topology based two circuit models of PNP driven Sziklai pair small-signal amplifiers have been proposed and analyzed in this paper. First circuit uses matched BJTs while second circuit employs lateral type of unmatched BJTs available at Generic Process Design Kits (GPDK) 180nm technology in Cadence virtuoso Spectre simulation. Transistor Q1 and Q2 in proposed circuit constitute PNP Sziklai whereas transistor Q2 and Q3 collectively represents NPN Sziklai. Matched BJT based circuit works on very low AC input signal 0.1nV-3mV and generates moderate amplifier current gain (9.568), higher amplifier voltage gain (234.899), wider bandwidth (3.8126 MHz), higher power gain (33.517 dB-Watt) with low THD (0.778%) while second circuit based on BJTs available at GPDK 180nm technology, amplifies AC signal ranging between 10 nV-1 µV with higher voltage gain (252.106), moderate current gain (7.6838), wider bandwidth (212.597 MHz), low power consumption (119.596 mW) and low THD (25.3027 u%) than earlier reported commercial BJTs based Sziklai pair small-signal amplifier under triple transistor topology. Excellent thermal stability of the proposed amplifier combined with low level input and output noises over operational temperature range -30oC ≤T≤+50°C exemplifies predominant features of these amplifiers. Present article includes detailed physical analysis of related parameters.The layout of the proposed amplifier takes up a small area of 1157.6124 µm2 (12.68µm x 12.43 µm) giving same pre and post layout simulation results. Gas discharge tube (GDT), as an important protective device, has been developed and employed for the protection of circuit against high-power electromagnetic energy. Accurate description of the protective property of GDT is critical for its practical applications. However, under the excitation of high-power microwave (HPM), how the GDT will respond and whether the GDT can still exhibit protective performance remain unclear. Herein, the response characteristics of GDT to HPM were studied in this article. With the increment of excitation voltage, the response time of GDT decreases exponentially, and eventually reaching about 10 ns. The suppression ratio to HPM energy can attain 90%. The dynamic breakdown voltage and arc-mode voltage continuously increase as the excitation voltage is increased. Specifically, the arc-mode voltage nearly exhibits a linearly increasing trend. Moreover, the response property of GDT to HPM was simulated by using a PSpice model. The simulations are in good agreement with the experimental results, indicating the model can be used for predicting the behaviors of GDT under the excitation of HPM.

Memristor, as a nonlinear element, provides many advantages thanks to its superior properties to design different chaotic circuits. Thus, a novel four-dimensional double-scroll chaotic system with line equilibria as well as two unstable equilibria based on the flux-memristor model is proposed in this paper. The effects of initial values and parameters on the dynamic characteristics of the system are studied in detail by means of phase diagrams, Lyapunov exponent spectrums, bifurcation diagrams, two-parameter bifurcation diagrams and basins of attraction. Besides, a series of complex phenomena in the system, such as sustained chaos, bistability, transient chaos and coexisting attractors are observed, proving that the chaotic system has rich dynamic characteristics. Also, spectral entropy (SE) complexity algorithm and C 0 complexity algorithm based on structure complexity are adopted to analyze the complexity of the system. Additionally, PSPICE circuit simulation and Micro-Controller Unit (MCU) hardware experiment are carried out to verify the correctness of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation. Finally, the pulse chaos synchronization is achieved from the perspective of maximum Lyapunov exponent, and numerical simulations demonstrate the occurrence of the proposed system and practicability of the pulse synchronization control. Symmetry is an important property shared by a large number of nonlinear dynamical systems. Although the study of nonlinear systems with a symmetry property is very well documented, the literature has no sufficient investigation on the important issues concerning the behavior of such systems when their symmetry is broken or altered. In this work, we introduce a novel autonomous 3D system with cyclic symmetry having a piecewise quadratic nonlinearity φ k (x) = a x − k | x | − x | x | where parameter a is fixed and parameter k controls the symmetry and the nonlinearity of the model. Obviously, for k = 0 the system presents both cyclic and inversion symmetries while the inversion symmetry is explicitly broken for k ≠ 0. We consider in detail the dynamics of the new system for both two regimes of operation by using classical nonlinear analysis tools (e.g. bifurcation diagrams, plots of largest Lyapunov exponents, phase space trajectory plots, etc.). Several nonlinear patterns are reported such as period doubling, periodic windows, parallel bifurcation branches, hysteresis, transient chaos, and the coexistence of multiple attractors of different topologies as well. One of the most gratifying features of the new system introduced in this work is the existence of several parameter ranges for which up to twelve disconnected periodic and chaotic attractors coexist. This latter feature is rarely reported, at least for a simple system like the one discussed in this work. An electronic analog device of the new cyclic system is designed and implemented in PSpice. In order to improve the efficiency of magnetic pulse compression circuit and reduce its volume, by using PSPICE circuit simulation software and using the method of control variables, the factors that affect the circuit were analyzed and simulated. The simulation analysis was carried out when the nanocrystalline material was used as the core, with the total compression ratio of 100 and the volume of the two-stage magnetic pulse compression circuit at the smallest status. The results show that the pulse rise time is compressed from 6.7μs to 67ns, which meets the requirements of pulse gas laser for fast discharge time; when the load resistance is 250Ω, the first reset current is 1.09A ~ 9.80A, and the second reset current is 3.27A ~ 14.50A, the maximum efficiency of the system is 81.9%; the value of the resistance and the reset current too large or too small will affect the efficiency. This study provides a reference for the further improvement of the efficiency of the magnetic pulse compression circuit and the miniaturization of the volume. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, the effects of low and fast response speeds of neuron activation gradient of a simple 3D Hopfield neural network are explored. It consists of analyzing the effects of low and high neuron activation gradients on the dynamics. By considering an imbalance of the neuron activation gradients, different electrical activities are induced in the network, which enable the occurrence of several nonlinear behaviors. The significant sensitivity of nontrivial equilibrium points to the activation gradients of the first and second neurons relative to that of the third neuron is reported. The dynamical analysis of the model is done in a wide range of the activation gradient of the second neuron. In this range, the model presents areas of periodic behavior, chaotic behavior and periodic window behavior through complex bifurcations. Interesting behaviors such as the coexistences of two, four, six and eight disconnected attractors, as well as the phenomenon of coexisting antimonotonicity, are reported. These singular results are obtained by using nonlinear dynamics analysis tools such as bifurcation diagrams and largest Lyapunov exponents, phase portraits, power spectra and basins of attraction. In this paper, the types of penetrating collision overload signals are analyzed, and a detection device for simulating the signal of the penetration process is designed in combination with engineering practice. The device uses asimulated signal generation circuit to simulate the overload signal of the projectile actually hitting the target during the penetration process. The Pspice simulation software is used to simulate the voltage overload of the simulated overload signal, and the feasibility and stability of the signal generation are verified by the prototype test. The simulation signal proposed by the design scheme can be used to simulate the penetration overload signals for different initial speeds and different targets, and it has certain guiding significance for the pre-design simulation test of engineering projects. Cavities loaded with magnetic ring cores are often used in synchrotrons if the desired operating frequency is in the lower megahertz range. The properties of such a cavity are strongly determined by the ring cores. However, other cavity components also have an important influence. During the design phase of such a cavity, full-wave simulations are not the first choice because computational modeling of parts like magnetic ring cores is complicated and because the influence of the ring core material data is often larger than that of the cavity geometry. In the past, these types of cavities have often been built without performing 3-D simulations. While standard acceleration cavities can be developed rather accurately by experienced designers, the coupling between amplifier and cavity or the development of more advanced cavity systems e.g., for barrier bucket operation or longitudinal feedback still bears some risks. In this article, at hand, we describe a new development process that was successfully used for the development of an MA-loaded broadband cavity. It is based on the broadband lumped-element circuits for single-ring cores. We used standardized ring-core measurements to obtain the required impedance data, but analytical methods can, in general, be used as well. The lumped-element circuits for the ring cores are used in a PSpice model of the whole cavity, allowing for simulations in frequency and time domain. Interconnection of solar cells by an electrically conductive adhesive (ECA) can replace the use of conventional metal ribbon connections for photovoltaic module fabrication. This technology increases the active area for photocurrent generation because the cells are connected in a busbar-less structure, and high-power, high-efficiency modules can be manufactured. In this study, we investigated the influence of the curing conditions on the characteristics of the ECA film and interconnected cell. In addition, this paper presents a new method for extracting the resistance contribution of the ECA to the interconnected cell. A low sheet resistance of <0.023 Ω/sq was observed when an ECA film on a slide glass substrate was cured for >60 s, regardless of the curing temperature. In addition, the sheet resistance was <0.02 Ω/sq at a curing temperature of 150 °C even for a short curing time of 5 s. At curing temperatures above 120 °C, the ECA resistance component of the interconnected cell was reduced to 0.2 mΩ or less, and the efficiency was increased by 0.4% or more. However, a curing time of >60 s was required for a similar efficiency improvement at lower temperatures. Notably, the characteristics of the interconnected cell simulated using the extracted ECA resistance values were similar to the measurement results. Ideally, a mechanically coupled array-composite resonator can improve linearity and motional resistance by a factor equal to the number of constituent resonators used in the array. Owing to fabrication nonidealities, however, random variations in the dimensions of resonators and coupling beams often compromise the actual increase in output current. As a result, previous array composites have fallen short of their expected impedances and linearity improvements, particularly when the number of constituent resonators used in the array is large. Therefore, in this paper, we present a detailed theoretical analysis on the centroid offset of beams caused by process variations and some related substantive issues. Specifically, an equivalent circuit model for a coupling trapezoid beam is first deduced in the case of an offset centroid. Then, a model for a coupled double-disk resonator including a beam with an offset centroid is established by combining the equivalent circuit model with an existing circuit model of a radial-contour mode disk resonator. Finally, numerical results are obtained by simulations using ANSYS and PSpice with the mechanical and electrical models, respectively. It is shown that the resonant frequency varies by 45.7, 110, and 250 ppm when the beam centroid shifts by 6, 12, and 18‰, respectively. When the centroid shifts towards one disk by 18‰, the output current amplitude of this disk decreases by 38.7‰ to 1.657 ÎA (compared with 1.724 ÎA at zero offset), while the output current amplitude of the other disk increases by 35.9‰ to reach 1.785 Î?A. In addition, when there is an offset, the Q of the resonator decreases. In particular, when the centroid has an 18‰ offset, Q decreases by nearly 19‰. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper the results of modeling and simulation of NBTI effects in p-channel power VDMOS transistor have been presented. Based on the experimental results, the threshold voltage shifts and changes of transconductance during the NBT stress have been modeled and implemented in the PSPICE model of the IRF9520 transistor. By predefining the threshold voltage value before the NBT stress, and by assigning the stress time, transfer characteristics of the transistor are simulated. In this work, using PSpice Simulator we try to implement an underwater optical wireless communication link and to determine at which wavelength the attenuation is minimum for the given transmission medium characteristics. Because in coastal waters, both inherent and apparent optical properties are influenced by a wide array of physical, biological and chemical processes leading to optical variability. Hence, appropriate channel modeling will be performed. The main challenge for the development of efficient underwater wireless sensor networking solutions posed by the underwater environment is the requirement of different wavelengths of light for different ocean conditions. To overcome this drawback, a hybrid transceiver is designed in such way that the transmitter will transmit a particular wavelength optical signal in order to have least BER depending on the characteristics of the underwater optical channel. In recent years, a growing interest has been devoted to the design and analysis of chaotic systems without equilibrium point. In the present contribution, we further investigate the dynamics of an equilibrium free 3D chaotic system with quadratic nonlinearities recently introduced by Yan et al. [Optik 127 (2016) 1363–1367]. Standard nonlinear diagnostic tools such as bifurcation diagrams, graphs of largest Lyapunov exponent, phase portraits, frequency spectra and Poincaré sections are plotted to characterize the dynamics of the model in terms of its parameters. It is found that the system experiences a large number of coexisting attractors for some suitable sets of its parameters, depending solely on the choice of initial conditions. Up to twelve coexisting stable attractors are revealed. An electronic analogue of the system is designed and implemented in Pspice. A very good agreement is observed between Spice based simulation results and the theoretical analysis. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this interesting and singular behavior (i.e. the coexistence of a large number of stable attractors, including periodic, quasi-periodic and chaotic attractors) has not yet been reported both in a third order system and thus deserves dissemination. It is a common phenomenon that multi-scroll attractors are realized by introducing the various nonlinear functions with multiple breakpoints in double-scroll chaotic systems. Differently, this paper introduces a new systematic method for generating multi-direction multi-double-scroll (MDMDS) chaotic attractors without changing the original nonlinear functions. By using the multi-pulse control technique in a three-dimensional double-scroll chaos system, a new family of double-scroll grid attractors can be generated, including 1-D double-scroll, 2-D double-scroll, and 3-D double-scroll chaotic attractors. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulations show the MDMDS can be generated by constructing pulsed excitation in corresponding state variable directions (1-D), plane (2-D), or space (3-D). Mean while, it is possible to increase the number of scrolls in all state variable directions by adding the number of pulsed excitation. Furthermore, the proposed approach is applied in Chua's circuit; a series of MDMDS attractors are presented. Finally, corresponding realization circuit is designed using CFOAs. This study presents findings of a search on canonic single‐resistance‐controlled oscillators (SRCOs) using third generation current conveyors (CCIIIs). From seven identified canonic SRCOs, five are completely new. All seven canonic SRCOs use two CCIIIs, two grounded capacitors and three resistors. The condition of oscillation and frequency of oscillations are decoupled and simple. The workability of the presented oscillator configurations have been confirmed by PSPICE simulation and hardware experiments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A systematic synthesis approach for floating gyrators employing single z‐copy current‐controlled current conveyor trans‐conductance amplifier (CCCCTA) is presented in this work. Initially, the pathological models of two types of the CCCCTA, namely z‐copy z+‐output CCCCTA (CCCCTA+) and z‐copy z−‐output CCCCTA (z‐copy CCCCTA−), are derived by virtue of the nodal admittance matrix (NAM) expansion method. Moreover, these models are then used in the synthesis of floating gyrator using single z‐copy CCCCTA. Two floating gyrators are acquired by expanding the NAM of floating gyrator. The synthesised gyrators employ one z‐copy CCCCTA and a grounded admittance. Adjusting bias currents of the CCCCTA can tune the parameter of the gyrators. In this paper, we report on the synchronization of a pacemaker neuronal ensemble constituted of an AB neuron electrically coupled to two PD neurons. By the virtue of this electrical coupling, they can fire synchronous bursts of action potential. An external master neuron is used to induce to the whole system the desired dynamics, via a nonlinear controller. Such controller is obtained by a combination of sliding mode and feedback control. The proposed controller is able to offset uncertainties in the synchronized systems. We show how noise affects the synchronization of the pacemaker neuronal ensemble, and briefly discuss its potential benefits in our synchronization scheme. An extended Hindmarsh-Rose neuronal model is used to represent a single cell dynamic of the network. Numerical simulations and Pspice implementation of the synchronization scheme are presented. In this study, the Class‐E/F3 power amplifier with linear gate‐to‐drain and nonlinear drain‐to‐source capacitance is proposed. The analysis for the effect of the parasitic capacitance in the mixed mode Class‐E/F3 with square and sinusoidal gate‐to‐source voltage has been done. Most of the design equations in this study do not have analytical solutions, and the numerical analyses are used. As can be seen, there is little difference between the results related to the sinusoidal and square gate‐to‐source voltage. So, only the simulation and experimental result for Class E/F3 with square gate‐to‐source voltage at operating frequency of 4 MHz has been done. The results in this study indicate that it is important to consider the effect of the MOSFET gate‐to‐drain capacitance for achieving the ZVS/ZDS conditions in the Class‐E/F3 power amplifier. The PSpice simulation and measured results are agreed with the analytical expressions, which show the validity of the presented analytical expressions. Finally, the waveforms of Class E/F3 are compared with equivalent waveforms of Class‐E power amplifier, in order to indicate its advantages. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study presents a new low‐voltage (LV) supply and low‐power consumption bulk‐driven quasi‐floating‐gate fully differential current conveyor (BD–QFG‐FDCCII) active element which is suitable for LV signal processing applications. The bulk‐driven technique is used to achieve LV supply as low as a 0.5 V and extended input voltage swing. On the other hand, the quasi‐floating‐gate technique is used to achieve high‐frequency performance. To prove the workability of the proposed circuit, new voltage‐mode biquadratic filter and fifth‐order leap‐frog low‐pass filter using BD–QFG‐FDCCIIs as active devices have been designed and illustrated in this study. The functionality of the proposed circuits is demonstrated through PSPICE simulations using Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) 0.18 µm n‐well complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor technology with a 0.5 V supply voltage and a power consumption of 16.1 µW. Current-fed DC–DC converter has received a lot of attention recently for the fuel cell power source applications. This is due to its attractive features, such as low input current ripple, high voltage conversion ratio and high efficiency. Unfortunately, a high voltage stress across the switches and hard switching is the main drawback of the current-fed topologies. Therefore, an active clamp circuit is often implemented to suppress any voltage overshoot across the switches and achieving zero-voltage switching. In this paper, based on detailed analysis on the converter performance it was found that parasitic elements of the converter can have a large impact on promising features of current-fed converters with an active clamp. This has not been reported in the literature. It has been shown through an in-depth analysis on the converter that particularly during the switch overlap period the parasitic elements create undesirable oscillations leading to additional circulating energy that adds to the conduction losses of the converter. It also results in voltage ringing across the clamp switch, oscillations in the current through the clamp circuit and high voltages across the bridge switches, even when the switches are conducting. This paper presents analytical expressions for the Class-E/F 3 power amplifier with a nonlinear shunt capacitor for satisfying the nonoptimum condition at 50% duty ratio. The design parameters for achieving the nonoptimum condition are expressed as a function of the phase shift and dc supply voltage. The Class-E/F 3 amplifier with nonoptimum condition increases one design degree of freedom compared with the optimum conditions. Because of the increase in the design degree of freedom, one more relationship can be specified as a design specification. The following parameters series reactance, peak switch voltage, output power capability, and maximum operating frequency are presented. Based on analytical results, an example of the Class E/F 3 at operating frequency of 4 MHz is analyzed. The PSpice simulation and measured results agree with the analytical expressions, which show the validity of our analytical expressions at zero-voltage switching. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The first demonstration of single contact electron beam induced current (SCEBIC) technique on multicrystalline silicon (mc-Si) solar cells is reported. A lumped single-diode analytical model is also proposed to theoretically explain the SCEBIC phenomenon within solar cells as well as the current transient characteristics of the major model parameters, such as shunt resistance R sh , junction capacitance C j and parasitic capacitance C s . The accuracy of the analytical model is then verified using PSPICE simulations, which show a close match with the experimental results. It is found that a large value of parasitic capacitance C s is necessary to achieve good SCEBIC signal strength with a relatively low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and this is realized experimentally by adopting a metal enclosure in the measurement setup. In addition, an advantage of SCEBIC over the conventional double-contact method is also demonstrated by characterizing partially processed solar cells, which clearly illustrates the high degree of flexibility of SCEBIC in solar cell characterization. In this paper, analytical expressions for waveforms and design relationships are derived for the class-E power amplifier with the MOSFET nonlinear drain-to-source parasitic capacitance under the subnominal operation, i.e., only zero-voltage switching (ZVS) condition, for any grading coefficient m of the MOSFET body junction diode and 50% duty ratio. Only the MOSFET nonlinear drain-to-source parasitic capacitance is used for the analysis of the class-E ZVS power amplifier, and its nonlinearity is determined by the grading coefficient m. The switch voltage waveform does not satisfy the class-E ZVS switching condition when only the linear shunt capacitance is considered. The grading coefficient m is used as an adjustment parameter that provides accurate design to satisfy the given output power and peak switch voltage simultaneously. Therefore, the grading coefficient m is the important parameter to satisfy the class-E ZVS condition and given design specifications, which is the most important result in this paper. Additionally, the output power capability and maximum operating frequency are affected by the grading coefficient m. The analytical expressions are obtained by considering the grading coefficient m as an adjustment parameter, which is validated by PSpice simulations and laboratory experiments. The measurement and PSpice simulation results agreed with the analytical expressions quantitatively, which denotes the usefulness and effectiveness of our obtained analytical expressions. This study presents a versatile precision rectifier. The circuit yields a positive half‐wave signal, a negative half‐wave signal, a positive full‐wave signal and a negative full‐wave signal into one single structure. The personal computer simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis (PSPICE) simulation is performed to examine the performance of the new circuit. En este trabajo se analizan las formas de onda del regulador conmutado elevador como CFP trabajando parte deltiempo en operación continua y parte del tiempo en operación discontinua. Se evidencia el hecho de que los ánguloslímites de conducción no son simétricos respecto al máximo de la onda como sugieren trabajos publicados por otrosautores. La simulación con PSPICE confirma este hecho y a partir de los resultados de la simulación se calculanteóricamente las contribuciones a la corriente de directa en la carga que aportan las zonas discontinuas y la zonacontinua de forma aproximada. Se propone una vía para el cálculo analítico de la zona de operación continua. The wave forms of a boost switching regulator working as a PFC part time in the continouos mode of operationand part time on the discontinouos mode are analysed. The fact that the limit conduction angles are not symmetricalwith respect to the maximum of the current (on the contrary of what stated in papers published by other authors)are evidenced. PSPICE simulations confirmed this assertion. From these results the contributions to the DC outputcurrent of the different operating zones are theoretically estimated. It is proposed a way to calculate analiticallythe contribution to the DC output current of the continuous zone.
