Astrophysics - Solar and Stellar Astrophysics - Abstract
Nearby detached double-lined eclipsing binaries with most accurate data were studied and 290 systems were found with at least one main-sequence component having a metallicity $0.008\leq Z\leq 0.040$. Stellar parameters, light ratios, Gaia DR2 trigonometric parallaxes, extinctions and/or reddening were investigated and only 206 systems were selected eligible to calculate empirical bolometric corrections. NASA-IPAC Galactic dust maps were main source of extinctions. Unreliable extinctions at low Galactic latitudes $|b|\leq5^o$ were replaced with individual determinations, if they exist in the literature, else associated systems are discarded. Main-sequence stars of remaining systems were used to calculate bolometric corrections ($BC$) and to calibrate $BC-T_{eff}$ relation, which is valid in the range 3100-36000 K. De-reddened $(B-V)_0$ colours, on the other hand, allowed us to calibrate two intrinsic colour effective temperature relations, where the linear one is valid for $T_{eff}>10000$ K, while the quadratic relation is valid for $T_{eff}<10000$ K, that is, both are valid in the same temperature range $BC-T_{eff}$ relation is valid. New $BC$ computed from $T_{eff}$ and other astrophysical parameters are tabulated, as well., Comment: 16 pages, including 10 figures and 6 tables, accepted for publication in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society

- Abstract
Various COVID-19 vaccines are available across the world. However, short phases of clinical trials for emergency use and myriad rumors about and misinformation on vaccines spread through different media sources, induce confusion and trigger vaccine hesitancy behavior. Although clinical trials demonstrated promising results in the ability of vaccines to protect, social endeavor is required for vaccines to succeed. Mitigation of the pandemic is only possible through widespread acceptance of the vaccine. Thus, identifying the factors that impact vaccine intake is crucial. This study determined factors that affect intentions toward vaccination using a mixed-method approach, in which qualitative and quantitative analyses were conducted together. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is used in the quantitative study, and content analysis is employed in the qualitative study. The final sample of this mixed-method study consists of 568 participants for the quantitative study and 237 for the qualitative study. They were selected using an online questionnaire. Findings suggest that social, psychological, attitudinal, perceptual, and informational factors play a crucial role in shaping people's intentions toward vaccines, ultimately influencing their decision to accept or reject vaccination. Results of both the qualitative and quantitative studies, in parallel with each other, indicated similar barriers against and drivers toward vaccine intake behavior, providing strong insights into the reasons behind vaccine acceptance and hesitancy. Based on the insights gained in this study, a set of recommendations were compiled for policymakers.

- Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic had a significant impact on global exports. The outbreak of the virus disrupted supply chains and caused a sharp decrease in demand for goods and services, which resulted in a decline in manufactured exports worldwide. In this study, we investigate the effect of Covid-19 on Turkish manufacturing exports by using a firm-product level dataset at monthly frequency over 2019–2021. In particular, we aim to understand the heterogeneous impact of the pandemic on different types of products in terms of their substitutability, complexity and factor intensity. We also disentangle the diversified repercussions of the shock by taking into consideration the participation of firms in GVCs. Our results suggest that the Covid-19 pandemic has led to a drop in Turkish firms’ exports especially in the first 6-months of 2020 and their recovery has only became apparent in the second half of 2021. Also, firms exporting less substitutable, more complex and sophisticated goods, as well as goods with higher—physical and human—capital intensity have experienced a milder drop in their exports after the shock and have recovered faster. Moreover, exporting firms that are more involved in GVCs by sourcing their intermediates abroad have been less resilient as they were more exposed to the risk of supply chain disruptions. This higher risk exposition should be assessed together with their lower resilience associated with the properties of their output (less sophisticated, low human capital intensive and highly substitutable products).

- Abstract
Passenger demand forecasting is of great importance to the on-demand ride systems. With the accurate forecasting of demand, it can be determined from which regions and when the passengers demand a vehicle. In this way, passenger and vehicle waiting times, fuel costs of vehicles can be reduced. In the literature, various models such as time series, long short-term memory (LSTM), convolutional neural network (CNN), and hybrid of CNN-LSTM are used for demand forecasting in on-demand ride service systems. These models forecast demands by considering temporal and spatial data separately or together. In models that use spatial and spatial-temporal data, generally, the city is divided into zones in the form of a grid. This partitioning method has some disadvantages, such as misleading the forecasting accuracy by considering regions without demand and ignoring the geographical conditions. In this study, two new models, ConvLSTM2D-clustering and CNN-LSTM-clustering are proposed to overcome these disadvantages and make more accurate and robust forecasts. The proposed models use clustering instead of grid partitioning in dividing the city into zones and take time-of-day, time-of-week variables into account in forecasting as well as passenger demand. The presented models have been used in the passenger demand forecasting of Turkcell Technology Company, which provides on-demand ride services for its employees in Istanbul, Turkey. Experimental results, validated on real-world data provided by Turkcell, show that the proposed models partition the city more effectively and achieve 14-55% better short- and long-term forecasting performances than the compared models in terms of mean squared error.

This umbrella review aimed to synthesize evidence on how equity concepts have been considered in modified types of CEAs. Publicly available articles in MEDLINE were searched on January 25, 2024, to identify systematic reviews (SLRs) published in English since 2013 that incorporate health equity considerations in CEAs. Title/abstract, full-text article screening and data extraction were conducted by a single reviewer and validated by a second reviewer. Results were qualitatively synthesized to identify common themes. Eight SLRs were included. Distributional CEAs (DCEA), equity-based weighting, extended CEA (ECEA), mathematical programming and multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) were the most discussed approaches. A lack of consensus on the best approach for incorporating health equity into CEAs was highlighted, as these approaches are not currently consistently used in decision-making. Important limitations included scarcity of robust data to inform health equity indices, bias associated with commonly used health outcome metrics and the challenge of accounting for additional contextual factors such as fairness and opportunity costs. Proposals to expand CEAs to address equity issues come with challenges due to data unavailability, methods complexity, and decision-makers unfamiliarity with these approaches. Our review indicates that extended and distributional CEAs can support decision-making by capturing the impact of inequity on the clinical and cost-effectiveness assessment of treatments, although future modeling should account for additional contextual factors such as fairness and opportunity costs. Recommendations for actions moving forward include standardization of data collection for outcomes related to equity and familiarity with methodologies to account for the complexities of integrating health equity considerations in CEAs.Keywords: health technology assessment, health equity, cost-effectiveness analysis, value elements, umbrella review

BackgroundSedentary behaviour has been the focus of considerable clinical, policy and research interest due to its detrimental effects on health and wellbeing. This systematic review aims to (1) develop a more precise description of different categories of interventions that aim to reduce sedentary time in adults by identifying specific components that form an intervention; (2) explore the effect of different categories of interventions in reducing time spent sedentary in adults.MethodsTen electronic databases, websites of relevant organisations (e.g. the Sedentary Behaviour Research Network), and relevant reviews were searched. Inclusion criteria: Randomised controlled trials (RCTs), including cluster and randomised cross-over trials, in the adult population (clinical and non-clinical). Any study including a measure of sedentary behaviour was included even if reducing sedentary behaviour was not the primary aim. Exclusion criteria: Interventions delivered in schools, colleges, or workplaces; studies investigating the immediate effects of breaking up sitting time as part of a supervised (usually laboratory-based) intervention. Two review authors conducted data extraction and quality assessment (GRADE approach).ResultsSearches identified 39,223 records, of which 85 studies met the inclusion criteria and were included in the review. Interventions shown to significantly reduce time spent sedentary were those which incorporated the provision of information, education, or support (advice/recommendations), in conjunction with either counselling (mean difference: -52.24 minutes/day; 95% CI: -85.37 to -19.10) or a form of structured/prescribed physical activity (standardised mean difference: -0.15; 95% CI: -0.23 to -0.07). However, this positive effect was not maintained at follow-up. No interventions were shown to break up prolonged sitting.ConclusionsThis review presents a novel way of categorising interventions according to the types of components they comprised. There is evidence that interventions might be effective in reducing time spent sedentary immediately post-intervention. There were limited studies measuring sustained behaviour change.

Background Whilst pathways relating to the early stages of stroke care have become well established, strategies for longer-term care are less developed and longer-term outcomes remain poor for many stroke survivors. New Start, a complex intervention that includes needs identification, exploration of social networks and components of problem-solving and self-management, was designed to improve stroke survivors’ quality of life by addressing unmet needs and increasing participation. It is delivered approximately 6 months post-stroke by trained staff (facilitators). We are currently undertaking a cluster randomised feasibility trial of the New Start intervention with an embedded process evaluation, which is an important component of the design and testing of complex interventions as it provides an understanding of how interventions are delivered and function in different settings. Methods/design This mixed methods process evaluation will explore the degree to which New Start is implemented as intended, the impact of context on intervention delivery and the acceptability of the intervention for stroke survivors, their families and practitioners. It will include non-participant observation of facilitator training and intervention delivery. Interviews with stroke survivors, facilitators and other relevant staff (including administrators and managerial staff) will be undertaken. Qualitative data from interview transcripts, facilitator reflections and observational field notes will be analysed thematically alongside numerical data documenting intervention delivery collected as part of the trial. Discussion This process evaluation will identify factors that aid and impede implementation of the New Start intervention and improve understanding of this novel approach to longer-term stroke care. Trial registration ISRCTN Registry, ISRCTN38920246. Registered on 22 June 2016.

Imazamox ,Residue ,Sunflowers ,Oil - Abstract
The research was completed in 2014 and 2015 under field conditions in Kirklareli that is located in the Thrace region of Turkey. The study researched the residue levels left on different components of the sunflower plant and in sunflower oil due to the use of imazamox herbicide which is applied very commonly in the area for sunflower production. The study was randomised block trial design at two different locations. The assessment of two years together showed the sunflowers at Kavakli had imazamox residue of 239.9-7.0 mu g kg(-1) on leaves, 85.0-17.0 mu g kg(-1) on stems and 151.0-6.6 mu g kg(-1) on head components. At Kirklareli, there was 258.7-7.7 mu g kg(-1) on leaves, 71.7-1.2 mu g kg(-1) on stems and 169.0-2.5 mu g kg(-1) on head components. According to these results, the concentration of imazamox residues was identified as head > leaf >= stem. The number of herbicide residues reduced significantly from the first application time to the harvest period. Oil samples obtained from the sunflower plants comprised imazamox residues in amounts not exceeding the 0.05 mg kg(-1) MRL value in the Turkish Food Codex and 0.095 mg kg(-1)determined by the World Health Organisation. - Abstract
We investigate the role of local labor standards on MNEs’ location decisions across different sectors and sub-national regions within a developing country. We suggest that foreign investors adopt selective location strategies in connection with specific labor standards as a result of reputational and operating considerations. Foreign firms in more hazardous sectors prefer locations with higher occupational health and safety standards because they are more exposed to reputational risks. Those in sectors with less reversible investments prefer locations with lower degrees of unionization because their lower bargaining power increases their sensitivity to operating costs. We test our arguments across 26 sub-national Turkish regions over the period 2005–2011.

Physics ,Condensed Matter::Superconductivity - Abstract
Ab initio pseudopotential calculations have been made to calculate the structural, electronic, vibrational, and superconducting properties of the borocarbide superconductors RM2B2C (R = Lu, La, Y; M = Ni,Pd,Pt). Using the electronic and vibrational spectra, the average electron-phonon coupling parameter is calculated to be 0.78, 0.83, 0.96, and 1.48 for LaPt2B2C, LuNi2B2C, YPt2B2C, and YPd2B2C, respectively. From a detailed spectral analysis throughout the irreducible Brillouin zone (IBZ), we found that the highest contribution to the electron-phonon coupling parameter for these materials comes from the acoustic and low-frequency optical modes characterized with anomalous dispersion, instead of the A(1g) optical-phonon mode claimed in previous studies. Using the calculated electron-phonon coupling parameter values, the superconducting critical temperatures for LaPt2B2C, LuNi2B2C, YPt2B2C, and YPd2B2C are found to be 10.40, 15.94, 11.30, and 20.60 K, respectively, which are in good accordance with their experimental values of 10.50, 16.10, 10.00, and 21.00 K.
