In the literature, the drying mechanism were generally analyzed in terms of effective diffusivity through the pseudo first order diffusion model. This process was revisited through the modified Peleg model, assuming the drying as a moisture desorption versus drying time. The leaves of Corymbia citriodora acclimatized in the Congo Brazzaville “Plateau des Cataractes” were dried in open air and under shade thanks to a domestic scale of essential oil production. One obtains following model parameters: kinetic constant k1: 0.8555 - 2.1355 d.(g/g)-1, extraction capacity constant K2: 1.5255 - 1.8733 (g/g)-1; end equilibrium moisture X∞ = 0.53 - 0.66 g/g. and first order drying kinetic constant k = K2/k1: 1.71 - 1.78 d-1. Pseudo first order diffusion model fits experimental data with k = 0.368 - 0.587 d-1 and t1/2 = 1,18 - 1,88 d.. These results needed for the optimization of proccess and sizing equipments came from a fast graphic data processing, with low computer inputs.

A new and practical protocol for the synthesis of medicinally privileged azolo[1,3,5]triazines by simply heating under air has been presented. The in situ generated N-azolo amidines from commercially available aromatic aldehydes and 3-aminoazoles with ammonium iodide undergo the second diamination to accomplish the [3 + 1 + 1 + 1] heteroannulation reaction. This convenient process is appreciated by high efficiency, broad substrate scope, gram-scale synthesis, and operational simplicity under reagent-free conditions.

The Kayutangan Corridor is one of the areas in Malang that holds many historical values, namely as a shopping center in the Dutch colonial era. However, the glory and history of kayutangan began to fade with the times. This research's general objective is to provide a design proposal for the Kayutangan corridor that can present historical stories of the buildings along the corridor, such as an open-air museum, with the building as its object. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research with a signage theory approach. The final result of this study is the proposed signage and pedestrian design in the Kayutangan corridor.

Aims: Flies are known to spread antibiotic resistant bacteria (ARB), especially from farms to cities; but they may also play a role in the intra-urban dispersion of ARB, in conjunction with poor sanitary conditions. Here, we characterized gram-negative ARB isolated from urban flies (Lucilia and Sarcophaga spp.), and the co-relation with the periodic installation of two open-air markets in Mexico City. Methodology: Forty-two flies were individually captured, and 116 gram-negatives (68 of them Escherichia coli) were isolated from them. Resistance prevalence, and the presence of class 1 integrons was assessed. Results: The isolates were resistant to an average of 2.26 antibiotics (2.6 for E. coli), and 33% of E. coli isolates carried the intI1 gene. Thirteen percent of E. coli isolates produced extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL), all of them CTX-M, alone or, mostly, along TEM enzymes. Comparing data from market-free days vs. days when open-air markets were installed, the average number of resistance phenotypes per E. coli isolate went from 2.14 to 3.09; the number of resistance phenotypes per fly from 4.62 to 8.88; the average number of resistances per isolate per fly from 1.25 to 2.43; and the ESBL-producing carriage rate per fly from 0.08 to 0.38, respectively (P

Heterocyclic fused-ring systems are of utmost importance because of their presence in many natural products with biological activity. Pyrroloindoles are tricyclic heterocycles that are present in various bioactive and medicinally valuable compounds. Herein, we report the synthesis of phenylene bridged bis-pyrrolo[1,2-a]indole crowned macrocycles 1-3 in which the pyrrolo[1,2-a] indole moieties were formed via intramolecular fusion. The macrocycles were thoroughly characterized by 1D & 2D NMR, HRMS and X-ray crystallographic studies. The X-ray structure revealed that the two pyrrolo[1,2-a]indole moieties were parallel to each other, and one pyrrolo[1,2-a]indole unit was deviated by an angle of 9.54o while the other pyrrolo[1,2-a]indole unit was deviated by an angle of 12.0o from the mean plane defined by 28 core atoms. The macrocycles 1-3 absorb in the visible region and readily undergo oxidations because of their electron rich nature. The macrocycles 1-3 upon treatment with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) generates the corresponding cation radicals 1-3 •+ which were stable in the open air for a week. The cation radicals 1-3 •+ absorbs strongly in the NIR region and the experimental observations on crowned macrocycles 1-3 were corroborated by DFT and TD-DFT studies.

The detection of deterioration in archeological heritage sites is a very time-consuming task that requires expertise. Furthermore, vision-based approaches can cause errors, considering the complex types of deterioration that develop in different scales and forms in monuments. This problem can be solved effectively owing to computer vision algorithms, commonly used in different areas nowadays. This study aims to develop a model that automatically detects and maps deteriorations (biological colonization, contour scaling, crack, higher plant, impact damage, microkarst, missing part) and restoration interventions using the Mask R-CNN algorithm, which has recently come to the fore with its feature of recognizing small and large-sized objects. To this end, a total of 2460 images of Yazilikaya monuments in the Hattusa archeological site, which is on the UNESCO heritage list, were gathered. In the training phase of the proposed method, it was trained in model 1 to distinguish deposit deterioration commonly observed on the surface of monuments from other anomalies. Other anomalies trained were model 2. In this phase of the models, the average precision values with high accuracy rates ranging from 89.624% to 100% were obtained for the deterioration classes. The developed algorithms were tested on 4 different rock reliefs in Yazilikaya, which were not used in the training phase. In addition, an image of the Eflatunpinar water monument, which is on the UNESCO tentative list, was used to test the model's universality. According to the test results, it was determined that the models could be successfully applied to obtain maps of deterioration and restoration interventions in monuments in different regions.

Gold(III)-catalyzed activation of alkynes has been applied for the synthesis of 2,5-disubstituted furans from substituted 5-methoxy-hex-3-yn-2-ols. Mechanistically, the reaction proceeds via an allenyl carbocation intermediate followed by 5-endo-dig cyclization. The high-yielding, open-air, room temperature reaction conditions applied to synthesize a series of alkyl, aryl, and hetero aryl-substituted furans provide uniqueness to the strategy.

At present decreasing of costs and increasing of efficiency are the most priority directions in any industry. Developing in this way, JSC “Ural steel” together with FGUP “CNIIchermet after I.P. Barding” had mastered production of sheet metal product with increased resistivity against atmosphere corrosion made of steel 14ХГНДЦ for construction of bridges. Because of specific chemical composition of the steel, in the process of metal structures running in the open air, a solid strong oxide film is formed on the metal of the structures which prevents further corrosion without painting. For bridge builders elimination of costly operation of painting of span structures will enable to decrease considerably the costs of bridges construction and running. Having many advantages, steel 14ХГНДЦ has some restrictions in applications for steel structures without painting, as follows: - in sea zone according to domestic norms no close than 500 m from coastline; - in case of disorderly conditions of protective film formation and/or application of salt solutions for surface cleaning (as a rule the restrictions refer to traffic area of bridge span). In view of that for JSC “Ural Steel”, as the leading producer of bridge steel in Russia, an actual task erose: to elaborate and create a weatherproof steel, which could not only operate the whole period of a bridge running without additional protection at bridges con­struction through sea areas or close to coastline, but also withstand severe climate conditions of our country, including areas of High North with temperature lower -50°С. To solve the task together with OJSC “Institute Giprostroymost” and JSC BNIIZhT, a research work was accomplished to elaborate a system of alloying new steel 06ГН3МД with nickel content ~3.0 %, as well as production modes ensuring required corrosion resistance for operation in sea zone. Results of laboratory studies of the new weatherproof steel 06ГН3МД for application in bridge structures for coastal conditions and sea areas presented. Results of mechanical, technological, corrosion as well as fatigue tests of rolling products of the elaborated steel presented. It was established by laboratory studies that the new steel is weatherproofed and ensures lower corrosion losses, higher impact toughness at negative temperatures and plasticity comparing with steels used at present. It was shown that the strength class, technology and modes of factory welding of steel 06ГН3МД meet the requirements to steel span structures of bridges. Base on the results of the studies, the chemical composition of the steel 06ГН3МД was specified, as well as modes of heat treatment, ensuring the required characteristics with significant acceding. It was established that samples of the new steel 06ГН3МД showed considerably higher corrosion resistance - in average by 20% comparing with steel 14ХГНДЦ. At that corrosion resistance tests of welded joints of the new steel showed even higher resistance of the seam comparing with the basic metal, which speaks about quality selection of welding modes and welding materials.

Sufficient dissolved oxygen is required for helpful water quality. Natural stream cleansing procedures need enough oxygen levels for the purpose of supply for aerobic life systems. The happening of oxygen and water mixing together is titled aeration. There are several techniques to add air or oxygen to water, for instance open air reservoirs, submergible pumps, domestic aeration systems, compressor systems and air pump systems. However, the Venturi system, relied on the easiness of Ejectors, gives a easy, preservation free aeration solution. venturi system permits air to be injected inside running water from air inlet orifices and so rises oxygen levels in the water. The main objective of this research is to evaluate effect of geometric characteristics on the aeration efficiency in the venturi system. To achieve this goal, the venturi is designed and carried out, from transparent polycarbonate. Experiments were conducted under clear-water conditions at different discharges (Qwater): 44.16, 58.88, 73.59 and 88.31 lit/min which correspond to four inlet velocities (v): 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 m/s. The study involved selecting three different throat lengths (Lt): 12, 24 and 36 mm, and three different air inlets orifices diameters (ds): 3, 5 and 8 mm. Five different outlets angles have been used (β): 7o, 10o, 15o, 21o, and 25o with inlet angle (α) stabilization at 7o. The inlet and the outlet diameter (D) and throat diameter (dt) in all the experiments were constants and equals to 25 and 10 mm, respectively. The results of the study demonstrated that the geometric characteristics of the venturi system affects the aeration efficiency. The behavior of adhesive joints of D16AT An. Ox. chrom. aluminum alloy, made with the use of epoxy and phenolic-rubber adhesives, while exposed to constant tensile load and climatic factors in humid subtropics, both in open air and under a canopy, which made it possible to develop recommendations for the protection of adhesive compounds from exposure climatic factors.

Objectives To evaluate the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions on myopia progression (MP) in school age children. Methods A total of 115 children aged 8–17 years with a diagnosis of myopia who had been followed-up for at least 3 years, were included in this study with a retrospective and single-center design. The subjects’ age, the history of myopia in the family, the time spent in front of a screen, the digital devices used during home education (computer, tablet, smartphone, television), the time spent in open air (hours/day), the refractive error (RE) (spherical equivalent value) detected before the home education period and the changes in the myopia over the years, were recorded. Results The mean age was 12.06(± 2.29) years. Only the right eyes were included. The glasses use duration was 3.57(± 0.74) years. The annual MP amount 0.49(± 0.26), 0.41(± 0.36) and 0.54(± 0.43) diopters (D) for the 2017, 2018, and 2019 years before home education, respectively, (p > 0,05), and 0.71(± 0.46) D in 2020, during home education. In the Mâconnais, southern Burgundy, a number of paleolithic sites are concentrated along the river Saone. One of these is the prehistoric open-air site La Senetriere. This contribution gives an overview of recently conducted research and its results, focusing on stone artifacts from surface finds attributed to the Upper Paleolithic, including a considerable amount of blade cores. This paper summarizes the results of a master's thesis on the site's Upper Paleolithic core technology completed last year. For this purpose, these cores were divided into seven individual categories in order to be able to trace the respective core and blank production. Therefore, working stage analyses were carried out on ten cores. In addition, a comparison was conducted in which further sites with a similar technological component and possible identical core categories were compared with the cores from La Senetriere. In combination with a classical attribute analysis, information could be obtained about a possible chronological classification and function of the site, to interpret La Senetriere more precisely. In the past, the Upper Paleolithic component of the lithic artifacts was dated to the Perigordian V. However, our analyses show that Aurignacian artifacts are also present. Thus, the site was inhabited for a longer time than previously assumed. The dating of the confirmed Gravettian artifacts was reduced to an age of 33,000–28,000 calBP by comparing the sites, their diagnostic artifacts and core categories.

Background: The microwave technique of drying dental stone to achieve improved hardness and strength has been suggested in recent years. However, its effect on the wear properties of dental stone has not been thoroughly examined. Aim: The present study was conducted in vitro to determine the abrasion resistance of three commercially available Type IV dental stones using three different drying techniques. Materials and Methods: A total of 180 samples were prepared from 3 Type IV dental stones; namely Eliterock, Zhermack (Italy), Kalrock, Kalabhai industries (India), and Gyprock (Rajkot, India). Samples were subjected to drying in open air for 2 h, hot air oven at a temp of 230°C for 1 h and microwave oven for 5 min at 900Watts. Abrasion resistance was determined using a customized metallic abrasion resistance tester. Results: Microwave oven drying produced samples with increased abrasion resistance values when compared to samples dried in hot air oven and air-dried specimens. Eliterock showed significantly higher mean abrasion resistance values followed by Kalrock and Gyprock. Conclusion: Drying type IV dental stone in a microwave oven at 900W for 5 min increased the abrasion resistance within short time.

Caffeine is a well-known central nervous system stimulant, which can cause anxiety, insomnia and nervousness. Domestic wastes of caffeinated drinks, beverages and chocolates are the major sources for entry of caffeine in the environmental system. Caffeine has been widely detected in natural water resources. The current study describes a method for efficient removal of caffeine from aqueous solution by a laboratory scale dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) in open air. Caffeine concentrations in various sample solutions were monitored by high-performance liquid chromatography, and the degradation products were identified by directly injecting the sample to mass spectrometer. The consequences of varied parameters such as input power, initial concentration and initial pH of the solution on the degradation of caffeine were investigated. Removal efficiency of caffeine from aqueous solution was 72.6% and 96.6% for the initial concentrations of 100 and 1 µg/mL, respectively, at initial pH 7 after 4 min treatment in DBD plasma system with 60 W input powers. Caffeine removal efficiency was less in acidic solutions (initial pH 4), and insignificant degradation was observed in alkaline solutions (initial pH 10). Furthermore, the degradation of caffeine was also enhanced by increasing the input power in DBD system. The DBD system used in this study has been considered to be fast, effective and economical. It was operated at atmospheric condition in open air without using catalyst, expensive gases or organic solvents, and significant degradation of caffeine was achieved in a short (4 min) treatment time.

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has revived the debate about the routes of virus transmission and their likelihoods. It is of utmost importance to assess the risks of contamination of susceptible people by infectious individuals and to evaluate the level of SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory viruses transmission in the community. Most countries have imposed non-pharmaceutical measures to contain SARS-CoV-2 transmission, including physical distancing and mask wearing. Here we evaluated the spreading of viruses in open air using harmless Escherichia coli bacteriophages as a surrogate. Phages were sprayed towards Petri dishes seeded with bacteria at different lengths and angles. Our results showed that the transmission rate decreased exponentially with distance. Cattle are animals that stay in the herd for a large period of the day in the open air pasture. This daily routine leaves them exposed and susceptible to infectious diseases. One of them is the Bovine Parasitic Sadness which is considered one of the greatest cattle health problems due its high rate of mortality and morbidity. In this work preliminary results are presented from calf inoculated with anaplasmosis. Blood samples were collected and analyzed through Fourier Transform Near Infrared spectroscopy (FT-NIR). The animal was monitored for 60 days until its recovery. This exploratory work shows the potentiality of the FT-NIR in the detection, follow-up and recovery of the anaplasmosis. The possibility of prevention of this disease in the herd via a fast optical analysis may bring a great breakthrough in disease control in dairy and beef cattle.

This study confronts the prevailing culture of silence that trails sexual victimization in Nigeria to explore the scale of the problem of sexual violence at open-air music festivals. In-depth interviews involving 47 female attendees of musical concerts, who had experienced different forms of sexual violence, were conducted. Findings revealed high severity of sexual assault, low reportage, and strong influence of rape myth acceptance. Refusal to report sexual victimization is informed by the fear of isolation, stigmatization, self-blame and low confidence in the police. Cultural-shift that will change negative social perception towards rape survivors and women attending music festivals is suggested.

One-pot synthetic approach to produce trifluoroacetamide has been developed using an electrochemical method with the B[Formula: see text] complex as a catalyst under mild conditions, in open air at room temperature. Thirty examples of trifluoroacetamide were synthesized from 1,1,1-trichloro-2,2,2-trifluoroethane (CFC-113a) in moderate to good yields. This user-friendly strategy is compatible with a broad range of trifluoroacetamide syntheses.

Palace and garden complexes located at suburbs of Leningrad (Leningrad Oblast, the USSR) rapidly reconstructed after ruinous German occupation during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 became popular places for open air celebrations among Soviet citizens. The author outlines historic specifics of open air celebrations considered as a form of organization of leisure time, topics and content of cultural programs, analyses an evolution of forms of museum communication with visitors in early post-war time drawing on the example of Pavlovsk of the 1950s. The article gives the author's view on a role of integration historical and cultural resources (including monuments of architecture and decorative art) into the context of solution of personal growth, educational, recreational tasks of Soviet social pedagogics, measures aimed at state support to domestic tourism sector.

The solar dryers are playing a pivotal role in the food industries for preserving edible items such as grains, vegetables, fish, etc., through the removal of moisture content from them. They are having benefit over the open air drying by protecting the food items from dust, insects and other detrimental things. Further, they are attributed to save a greater amount of energy and protect the ecosphere from degradation. The indirect type solar dryers are primarily consisting of a solar collector and a space to place sliced potatoes. Their moisture removal rate is high and the quality of the end product would also be improved by them. In this present work, an indirect type single-pass forced convection solar dryer was fabricated and paraffin was integrated with solar collector as phase changing material (PCM) to improve the off-sunshine hour performance of the solar dryer. The process parameters such as, moisture removal rate, moisture ratio and the dryer inlet temperature were investigated for drying sliced potatoes in two cases, namely, solar dryer without PCM (Plain Dryer) and solar dryer with PCM (PCM Dryer). The mass flow rate of air was maintained as 0.065 kg/s and the dryer was operated from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. The obtained results were compared and the influence of amalgamating PCM with the solar dryer was analyzed and presented. The results demonstrated that the presence of PCM within the solar collector enhanced the drying room temperature significantly, two more hours after solar period. In addition, the percentage weight of moisture removal from potato slices was enhanced by 5.1% per day with the aid of paraffin.

Province, which is located in the south-eastern corner of Poland. At the beginning of the 1970s, as the result of an initiative drawing attention to the need for documentation of the rapidly disappearing traditional Rzeszowiacy vernacular wooden architecture (and that of the neighboring ethnographic group, the Lasowiacy), the Folk Culture Open-Air Museum in Kolbuszowa was created. This paper presents a short overview of the open-air museum’s establishment and describes in detail its role in the study and protection of the wooden architectural heritage of the Rzeszowiacy ethnographic group, based on the museum’s research, carried out over fifty years, and its collection of buildings.

Solar energy plays a vital role in improving the shelf of the agricultural product through drying, solar greenhouse drying is more optimal than using an open air drying, in this study selecting a ideal shape of greenhouse dryer among the other shapes is investigated. Six shapes of solar greenhouse dryers are designed in such a way that each dryer maintains the same volume of 30 ft3. The six shapes are Parabola, Quonset, Modified Quonset, Pyramid, Igloo and tropical. The inside temperature of greenhouse dryer is in the following order from maximum to minimum, Quonset, Tropical, Pyramid, Parabola, Modified Quonset and igloo during summer season. Quonset is capable of generating 64% more temperature when compared to atmosphere, whereas tropical generates 57%, pyramid generates 56%, parabola and modified Quonset generates 55% and igloo generates 53% more temperature when compared to atmosphere temperature during summer. Quonset shape generates 7% more temperature when compared to its rival tropical shape during summer and 5% more temperature during winter. The ideal shape of the solar greenhouse dryer is Quonset Shape, it generates a maximum of 72 DegC in summer and 66 DegC in winter.

The article deals with estimation on project level the possibilities of creating several outdoor classrooms for the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The aim of the work was to summarize the materials of photo and video recording of mass media, initiatives of educational institutions in relation to organization of outdoor training, analyze phytotherapeutic properties of plants for the development of functional spaces in the educational complexes of Kyiv National University to reduce anticipated pandemic risks. Given the natural conditions of Ukraine, which allow for outdoor classes for about one-third of the time in semesters, the organization of the educational process in the open air is promising. Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv has the opportunity to create a number of classrooms in open spaces. For creating "green" auditoriums there were proposed to use spaces in front of the western facade of the Red Building of the Taras Shevchenko National University and the roofs of the ESC "Institute of Biology and Medicine". The projects comply with the quarantine requirement for social distancing and government recommendations. Each outdoor educational space according to the project is equipped with elbow awnings and removable trellises. Phytotherapeutic effect within the green auditoriums can be provided with plants-repellents, which were commend to use in order to create color fulspots on the lawns in front of the western facade of the Red Building, the design of the stemcircle sand decorating the barebushesat the bottom part. For land scaping of a site with a firm covering (classroom on roofs) use of modular container culture with participation of plants – repellents is being offered.
