The behavior of Apis mellifera in urban areas has caused accidents with humans and domestic animals. Actions that aim to minimize the problem, such as capture, are essential. Thus, the present work sought to understand the nesting dynamics and the annual variation of the occurrences of swarms and colonies, their relationship with rainfall and bee flowering. The work was carried out in the Sertão Pernambucano, in Serra Talhada, mainly, and in neighboring cities. The occurrences were registered in the period from 2014 to 2015. Colonies and swarms were captured and taken to the apiary of the Serra Talhada Academic Unit, or donated to a settlement community. Rainfall data were collected, and the survey of bee pasture in Serra Talhada, through random transects of 1,500m from the said apiary. 115 occurrences were recorded, 65% in urban areas and 35% in rural areas. Of this total, 76% were from nesting colonies and 24% from provisional swarms. Regarding size, 62% were considered large, 22% medium and 16% small. The highest number of occurrences was observed between the months of March and April, coinciding with the period of greatest accumulated precipitation and flowering. In this way, the captured bees enabled a reduction of risks to society, contributed to an extra income for settlers and practical university classes. The nesting dynamics of A. mellifera, in the study area, proved to be related to the period with the highest rainfall volume and also the greatest availability of floral resources.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the botanical origin, the temporal effect on the concentration of nutrients, the production potential, and the nutritional value of bee pollen produced in the city of Serra Talhada-PE. The fieldwork was carried out from April 2014 to March 2015. The collection of bee pollen was carried out fortnightly in four hives. Analysis of botanical origin and nutritional analyzes of pollen were performed regarding the percentage of crude protein and ether extract. Generalized linear models and Spearman correlation between variables were used. 63 pollen types were found, distributed in 21 families, 39 genera, 34 species and 11 indeterminate types. The families most represented in numbers of species were Leguminosae and Malvaceae. The production of bee pollen was higher in the rainy season than in the dry season, being negatively related to temperature and positively to humidity. The nutritional value of the collected pollen changed over the sampled months. There was no relationship between the levels of crude protein and ether extract with the number of pollen types and with precipitation. Based on the pollen analysis, it can be inferred that the studied Caatinga area maintains a great diversity of sources of resources for bees, with the Leguminosae family being responsible for the largest food supply for the same. This study shows that the vegetation located in Serra Talhada-PE presents plant species with high nutritional content and great potential for the production of bee pollen.

An isopolyanion {W4O16} within archetypal {P8W48} heteropolyanion assembly [(P8W48O184)(W4O16)K10Li4Mn10Na(H2O)50Cl2] 15- (Mn10W4-P8W48) has been synthesized by the reaction of the cyclic superlacunary anion [H7P8W48O184] 33− and Mn(ClO4)2.6H2O in I M LiCl soultion medium at pH 8. The isolated compound has been characterized by single crystal X-ray crystallography, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, elemental analysis and thermogravimetric analysis. Electrochemical studies were also performed on Mn10W4-P8W48 confirmed the presence of Mn centres bonded to the tunsgtic framework. The novel polyanion [(P8W48O184)(W4O16)K10Li4Mn10Na(H2O)50Cl2] 15- is the first example of macrocyclic complex where an isopolyanion (W4O16) 8- is embedded within in the inner cavity of the {P8W48} and is placed in position by six MnII cations as anchors. Whereas, the exocyclic coordination of the four MnII atoms to {P8W48} yields extended structure by linking neighbouring polyanions through {W−O−Mn−O−W} bridges. Further, the polyanion Mn10W4-P8W48 is the first derivative of {P8W48} with six MnII ions (largest) coordinated to the inner side the crown ring as anchors.

The present study was developed from the apiaries of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, the Academic University of Garanhuns-UAG, Academic Unit of Serra Talhada-UAST and a beekeeper of the Association of Meliponicultores and Beekeepers of the Municipality of Manari-AMAM, during the months from March 2018 to November 2018. A survey of the bee flora was carried out with monthly observations in the three municipalities, in the morning and afternoon periods. In the field, the foraging behavior of the Apis mellifera bees was recorded and identified which floral resources the bees collected (nectar and / or pollen), as well as photographic records. After the production and off-season periods, we attempted to propose different management practices. Fertile botanical materials were collected from the apiary as a central point in the four directions (north, south, east, west), in transects of about 1,500m in length around each apiary. The material was herborized and deposited in the Semiarid Herbarium of Brazil (HESBRA) of UFRPE / UAST. Daily data of accumulated precipitation, relative humidity, air temperature and dew point were obtained from the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET). 183 species of Angiosperms belonging to 50 botanical families visited by Apis mellifera bees were identified in the three localities. The Leguminosae family was the most predominant corresponding to 21%, followed by the families Asteraceae and Malvaceae with 9%. The habit of the 183 species, it was observed that 49% are herbaceous, 20% are shrubs, 18% arboreal and 13% present climbing habit. In the municipalities of Garanhuns and Serra Talhada there was a high correlation (P

Bis-methionine coordinated cytochrome b562 proteins with or without covalently attached heme were generated and characterized by multiple circular dichroism and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopies, and protein electrochemistry. In the oxidized state, the single variant (H102M) was high-spin and was coordinated by a methionine ligand. Likewise, the double variant (R98C/H102M) was bis-methionine coordinated in the ferrous state. In the oxidized state, the protein transformed from a slow-spin to a high-spin species but did not exhibit the methionine coordination state.

Stingless bee ,Abelhas sem ferrão ,Bacillus ,Caatinga - Abstract
The aim of this study was to isolate sporogenic bacteria from the honey of stingless bees Melipona sp., in dry forest, and to evaluate their antagonistic potential for medicinal employment purposes and animal production. The honey samples were collected in Serra Talhada-PE, where honey was taken from four different hives (in triplicate), totaling 12 samples. The samples were diluted and subjected to 80 ºC for 20 minutes to eliminate vegetative cells. The dilutions were plated onto nutrient agar and incubated at 30 ºC for 72 hours. Then the colony forming units (CFU) were quantified. The samples were also plated onto malt agar and Sabouraud agar, and incubated at 30 ºC for 14 days for the growth of yeast and molds. Total and fecal coliforms were quantified by the most probable number method (MPN). Seven isolates (I) of sporogenic bacteria (Bacillus) were obtained, however only four showed probiotic potential. Isolate I-5 showed the greatest probiotic potential and inhibited the growth of Escherichia coli, Klebsiella sp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella sp., and Staphylococcus aureus. The growth of the Sarcina sp. was not inhibited by any isolate. No yeast, molds or coliforms were found. The Melipona sp. honey is a source of spore-forming bacteria and is antagonistic to microorganisms that contaminate honey. It has good microbiological quality. O isolado I-5 apresentou o maior potencial antagonista, inibindo o crescimento de Escherichia coli, Klebsiella sp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella sp. e Staphylococcus aureus.

A series of six lanthanide‐containing germanotungstates of the formula: [(Ln2GeW10O38)4(W3O8)(OH)4(H2O)2]26− (Ln=Sm (1), Eu (2), Gd (3), Tb (4), Dy (5), Ho (6) have been synthesized under ambient conditions. The synthetic procedure involves the use of trilacunary Na10[A‐α‐GeW9O34]⋅16H2O as a preformed precursor along with lanthanide salts in 0.5 M potassium chloride solution. The interaction of the trilacunary Na10[A‐α‐GeW9O34]⋅16H2O with the lanthanide salts leads to the formation of a tetrameric structure with four [GeW10O36]8− dilacunary Keggin units incorporating eight lanthanide ions and three additional tungsten atoms. All the polyanions were structurally characterized by Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR), Single Crystal X‐ray Diffraction (SC‐XRD), UV/Visible spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), electrochemistry, Electron‐spray ionization mass spectroscopy (ESI‐MS), Powder X‐ray diffraction (PXRD) and photoluminescence. FT‐IR spectroscopy reveals that all the polyanions are isomorphous and SC‐XRD shows that all the polyanions are isostructural and crystalize in the triclinic crystal system with P1‾ space group. Some of the polyanions show good photoluminescence properties. The cyclic voltammograms (CVs) of all the six compounds exhibit the same shape, each being composed of a pronounced reduction wave. Capital intelectual.
The intellectual capital is characterized as an intangible asset, which has been considered as the most important factor on the results of the organizations. In that sense, this study analyzes the relation between the intellectual capital and the performance of a Brazilian public organization. This is an exploratory research which was carried out on the Instituto Nacional da Seguridade Social - INSS, a public organization responsible for the management of financial resources which represents about 8% of the GNP. In order to achieve the proposal objectives, first some intellectual capital indicators were select from the model named Skandia developed by Edvinsson and Malone (1998) and some variables related to the activities performed by the unit studied. Later, it was collected data from INSS, regarding to the Benefits Department. After the data collection and the statistical treatment, it was possible to establish relations between the intellectual capital indicators and some performance variables of this organization. The reached results show that the indicators related to the experience of the civil servants, the aging of the systems, and the services available in the web, have contributed to the better results, which can be explained by the accuracy and the reduction in the time of analysis process. However, the indicators related to training and education didn't show a significant relation to the chosen variables, which suggests that external factors should be considered in a future research.

RELIGIOUS groups , *UNIVERSITIES & colleges - Abstract
Religion continues to attract people's attention in the current Brazilian society. Pluralism and religious transit seem to be present in today's market for symbolic values. Here live affection and disaffection to religious institutions. And specifically in the university environment, how religions are present? Mean something in their lives? This article analyzes the answers of 1446 undergraduate students of PUC-Minas to a questionnaire about their personal and academic life, with focus on the religious dimension of their life. The results are presented in two stages: an overview of religion among university students, and a comparative study of catholic and evangelical youth. Featured topics are: religious affiliation; cycle of religion in biography; education and religious participation; acquisition of knowledge; evaluation of beliefs, prescriptions and leaders; religious diversity and influence on personal and professional life. The analysis emphasyses the appreciation of religion even in secular environment of academia and points the trust in religious leaders as the main link between the students and the religious institution referred to their faith. RELIGION , *RELIGION & sociology , *SOCIAL sciences , *MARXIAN school of sociology - Abstract
This article analyzes the political ambivalence of popular religions from a sociological standpoint. There is a polarization of opinions within the Latin American social sciences. On one side there are those who consider popular religion as mere alienation or, at best, as subjective beliefs and rituals not related to a political project of social reform. On the other side, there are those who consider popular religion as the religious expression of the oppressed from which revolutionary projects may develop. This polarization of opinions accurately reflects the political ambivalence of popular religions. The author's approach to the issue is in accordance with the Marxist sociology suggested by Gramsci and developed by Houtart, Godelier and a host of other researchers to whom religion is not merely the reflection of social relations but their symbolic expression and thus a constituent of their reality. On such a perspective, this article first undertakes the empirical study of the social structure where each religion is generated, before arriving at generic assertions on the relations between popular religion and social change. The purpose of this study is: through an analysis of popular Catholicism in Brazil, it aims at raising its potential, as well as its limits, in the promotion of social changes.

CATECHISMS , *CATECHETICS , *SOCIALIZATION , *EDUCATION , *CHURCH - Abstract
This article identifies the basic shortcomings of the catechetic process in Latin America and analyzes the way it operates and the factors that reduce its efficiency. Special attention was given to two kinds of catechetic factors that have a paramount importance in the religious socialization process: the institutional agents of the Church and the family. Catechesis is the process through which the religious message is conveyed. Although the content of this message is essentially alike everywhere, it is differentiated according to the populations it is directed to. At the same time, the message is affected by two factors: the situation of the receiving agent, and the means at the disposal of the transmitting agent. The catechetic process is made to develop in accordance with personal maturation, much in the same way as the secular educational system does. At the same time, this approach makes it possible to evaluate the influence of the socialization agents who are not under the control of the Church and who may as well back up catechesis as counteract it. These agents are the family, the peer groups, the mass media, and the educational institution.

34. Characterization of the Electrochemical Oxidation of Peroxynitrite: Relevance to Oxidative Stress Bursts Measured at the Single Cell Level

- Abstract
The electrochemical signature of peroxynitrite oxidation is reported for the first time, and its mechanism discussed in the light of data obtained by steady-state and transient voltammetry at microelectrodes. Peroxynitrite is an important biological species generated by aerobic cells presumably via the near diffusion-limited coupling of nitric oxide and superoxide ion. Its production by living cells has been previously suspected during cellular oxidative bursts as well as in several human pathologies (arthritis, inflammation, apoptosis, ageing, carcinogenesis, Alzheimer disease, AIDS, etc.). However, this could only be inferred on the basis of characteristic patient metabolites or through indirect detection, or by observation of follow-up species resulting supposedly from its chemical reactions in vivo. In this work, thanks to the independent knowledge of the electrochemical characteristics of ONO
2 − oxidation, the kinetics and intensity of this species released by single human fibroblasts could be established directly and quantitatively based on the application of the artificial synapse method. It was then observed and established that fibroblasts submitted to mechanical stresses produce oxidative bursts, which involve the release within less than a tenth of a second of a complex cocktail composed of several femtomoles of peroxynitrite, hydrogen peroxide, nitric oxide, and nitrite ions.- Published

- Abstract
This dissertation examines how the anthropocentric view, when designing humans as the dominant species, legitimized the subjugation of nature, and how the biocentric perspective begins to emerge in opposition to the anthropocentric one. The ecological crisis is an issue that affects the whole living community on the planet and, in the late twentieth century, the biocentric ideology, which is based on the prospect of a harmonious relationship between humans and the environment, while simultaneously acknowledging the difference and diversity the elements of nature, came into collision with the anthropocentrism that helped spreading environmental problems that ravage the Earth. This study primarily aimed in investigating whether the Catechism of the Catholic Church, a document that exposes the doctrine of the Church, presents a viability to the biocentric ideology. The resulting analysis of this study shows that the document is predominantly man-centered, however, it contains fragments that allow for an interpretation in favor of a bio-centric perspective. Thus, we can say that the Catechism is not limited to a single horizon. Although it does not directly begin an environmental discussion bringing high anthropocentric content, the Catechism reveals a look toward the incipient ethics and biocentrical spirituality. The main references for the development of this research were the works of Leonardo Boff and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This thesis aims at investigating, through primary sources, the period between 1910 and 1940 in the Brazilian history, analyzing how the Catholic Church was able to relocate itself within the Brazilian social and political scenarios with the Christian Order project. Coming from Rome, this project finds at that time (1910s- 1940s) a favorable setting for its implementation in Brazil. Rio de Janeiro's Archbishop, Sebastião Leme, is the protagonist in the project to re-christianize Brazil, as the Brazilian society saw itself more distant from Christian values after the country became a Republic (1889). This research has its focus in the activities carried out by the Catholic Church and by Archbishop Leme himself to put into practice the Christian Order project, emphasizing three major actions by the Church concerning its relationship with the masses and the State: The Eucharistic Congresses; the nomination of Nossa Senhora de Aparecida (Our Lady of Aparecida) as the Brazilian patroness; and the Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) monument. Special attention is given to the hymns composed for the Eucharistic Congresses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Qualitative in nature, the research analyzes sin as a socio-anthropological and religious fact – in Jewish and Christian traditions, and in Latin American liberation Christianity. Then, it has descriptive clippings on the rites that make up the Pilgrimage of the Martyrs with the aim of finding connections between them and the sacrament of reconciliation. Finally, the study discusses the similarity between religious experience, ritual experience and martyrdom celebrations – all sensory and emotional, before being rational. The results found point in the direction that, for the religious subject, sin is identified with death, while death is the result of that one. Furthermore, it indicates a reversal in the human existential course. If the natural and observable course starts from life towards death, the rites celebrated in the Pilgrimage of the Martyrs suggest that the course starts from death towards life. Thus, death – which, for the believing man, is the fruit of sin – remains overcome.

The Dawson-type arsenato-phosphato-tungstate α-[AsPW18O62]6- has been prepared and unambiguously identified for the first time. A comparative study including the four other already known compounds, the symmetric α-[X2W18O62]6- and unsymmetric α-[H4XW18O62]7- for X = PV, AsV, has been performed by spectroscopic 183W and 31P NMR. 2-D 183W INADEQUATE experiments were systematically employed to unequivocally verify structures, assign all resonances, and determine precisely 2JW-O-W scalar couplings. The effects of P/As substitutions, generating unsymmetric structures, on the NMR observables δW-183, δP-31, 2JW-O-W, and 2JW-O-P are discussed in relation to their bond length and bond angle alteration. General trends with respect to NMR parameter variations have been found when filling central cavities with P or As atoms, with less pronounced effects for As than for P. In addition, NMR characterization of three other isomers, i.e., β-[X2W18O62]6- and γ-[As2W18O62]6-, were also provided for comparison. The present NMR results could serve as representative reference data for understanding the relationship between structure and NMR observables in polyoxotungstates. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: This dissertation examines how the anthropocentric view, when designing humans as the dominant species, legitimized the subjugation of nature, and how the biocentric perspective begins to emerge in opposition to the anthropocentric one.
