A study designed two versions of pipelines, parallel carry-look-ahead adders, which were conceptualized based on delay-insensitive, rapid single flux quantum primitives. Two of the design schemes were compared in terms of area, speed, robustness and design process for large systems. The study also conducted simulations on four-to-32-bit adders and their sensitivity to delay variations. Experimental findings and conclusions are summarized.
