The article discusses the authenticity of the 1776 manuscript titled "Samutphāp Traiphūm," or the "Illustrated Manuscripts of the Three Worlds," by Thai King of Siam Taksin, including of copies held at the Museum of Asian Art in Berlin, Germany and the National Library in Bangkok, Thailand. An overview of the role that the German adventurer Adolf Bastian played in analyzing the Traiphūm manuscript is provided.

The core of the Special Collection in the National Library of Romania includes stocks coming from famous collectors, to which there are to be added representative works for the book and Romanian and world printing history, coming from donations and purchase. ENRICH Project. Manuscriptorium aimed the access to digital images of the old documents from different cultural European institutions. The National Library of Romania also participated to other projects, as follows: REDISCOVER, developed in the framework of the programme of European cooperation Culture Program 2007-2013 and Balkan Itineraries. Virtual digital collection, pilot project developed between 2011 and 2013, which aimed to create a bibliographical database to include rare and valuable books printed between the 16th and the 18th century and signed by French or Francophone authors, diplomats, militaries, explorers and adventurers, books including travel impressions about the Balkan and Oriental countries, especially about the territories populated by Bulgarians, Serbians and Romanians, during the Ottoman domination. The article discusses a conflict between Peruvian intellectuals Manuel González Prada and Ricardo Palma and his son Clemente Palma regarding the administration of the Lima National Library (Biblioteca Nacional de Lima) in Lima, Peru at the beginning of the 20th Century. The analysis is based on the text "Nota informativa (acerca de la Biblioteca Nacional)" by González Prada and the text "Apuntes para la historia de la Biblioteca de Lima" by Ricardo Palma, which refutes the accusations made by González Prada. According to the article, the library becomes a symbolic representation of the intellectual establishment in Peru, and issues of social class and accessibility were central to this conflict.

The real integration of the people with disabilities into the educational system and then on the work market can by achieved by facilitating the convenient access to information. This way, the National Library of Romania initiated the project Dream (Digital Resources - easy to access and manage) with the support of the Foundation Orange. In the same time, in December 2012, on the occasion of the International day of the people with disabilities, the National Library of Romania was assigned the „Mark of accessibility” by the Foundation Motivation Romania, after an audit of a mixt team of wheelchair users, experts in accessibility and architects. The National Library provides assistance in the field to the libraries which want to make available collections and services to the people with disabilities. Dream project's results will have an influence upon the social and economic environment as the number of visually impaired pupils and students will increase, as well as the professional integration of the visually disabled people and access to the National Library collection and to specialized databases through the library site; guidance in using new technologies; reduce discrimination.
